A. Fully-Vaccinated with Booster Dose / Unaccompanied Teenager

New Quarantine Period : 5 Days

Travellers who are fully-vaccinated and received the booster dose, or teenagers travelling without an adult escort are now allowed to undergo a short quarantine of just 5 days.

They will need to undergo three screening tests during the 5-day mandatory quarantine :

  • RT-PCR test within 2 days prior to departure, with a negative test result
  • RT-PCR test on the day of arrival
  • RT-PCR test on Day 4, or
RTK-Ag test that is supervised by a healthcare worker on Day 5

They will be released from quarantine only on Day 5, if they test negative on their RT-PCR test on Day 4, or the RTK-Ag test on Day 5.

B. Fully-Vaccinated without Booster Dose

New Quarantine Period : 7 Days

Travellers to Malaysia who are fully-vaccinated, but did not receive the booster dose, will be required to undergo a mandatory quarantine of 7 days.

They will also need to undergo three screening tests during the 7-day mandatory quarantine :

  • RT-PCR test within 2 days prior to departure, with a negative test result
  • RT-PCR test on the day of arrival
  • RT-PCR test on Day 5, or
RTK-Ag test that is supervised by a healthcare worker on Day 7

They will be released from quarantine only on Day 7, if they test negative on their RT-PCR test on Day 5, or the RTK-Ag test on Day 7.

C. Unvaccinated or Not Fully Vaccinated

New Quarantine Period : 10 Days

Travellers to Malaysia who are not fully-vaccinated or unvaccinated, will be required to undergo a mandatory quarantine of 10 days.

They will also need to undergo three screening tests during the 10-day mandatory quarantine :

  • RT-PCR test within 2 days prior to departure, with a negative test result
  • RT-PCR test on the day of arrival
  • RT-PCR test on Day 8, or
RTK-Ag test that is supervised by a healthcare worker on Day 10

They will be released from quarantine only on Day 10, if they test negative on their RT-PCR test on Day 8, or the RTK-Ag test on Day 10.

D. Travellers With Recent COVID-19 Infection

Travellers who recently recovered from COVID-19 infection are NOT required to undergo a mandatory quarantine, subject to these requirements :

  • must be fully-vaccinated, with proof of vaccination
  • proof of COVID-19 infection within 11-60 days prior to departure, using printed or digital test results
  • travellers with history of hospitalisation from COVID-19 must produce a “Fit to Travel” letter from the hospital
  • travellers who were not hospitalised must undergo a professional RTK-Ag test two days before departure, and are only allowed to fly with a negative test result

Travellers who recovered from a COVID-19 infection but are not fully vaccinated, or unvaccinated, must undergo a mandatory 7-day quarantine.
