Yoodo – the 100% digital mobile service – just celebrated their 3rd anniversary, with some announcements!

 

Yoodo Celebrates 3rd Anniversary!

Yoodo – a Celcom brand – started three years ago in 2018, growing from a young start-up to becoming the only digital telco in the market to offer users the option to cherry pick and pay for what they need in a mobile plan.

According to Chow Tuck Min, Head of Yoodo, over the last 3 years, Yoodo became the dominant telco in esports, sponsoring the PUBG Mobile National Championship and even signing on two esports teams – Yoodo RSG MLBB and Yoodo RSG CODM.

Goodo also sponsored the Malaysian Premier Futsal League (MPFL), and supported local musicians and indie bands through events like Yoodo Presents and Punkrock Picnic.

 

Yoodo 3rd Anniversary Announcements!

In conduction with their 3rd Anniversary, Yoodo shared these announcements :

TikTok Around The Clock With Yoodo

From now until 31 December 2021, Yoodo users can purchase the new TikTok Add-On for only RM1, after which it will be priced at RM10.

This TikTok Add-On allows users to stream, create and share up to 20GB of TikTok videos.

Mobile Legends : Bang Bang Diamonds Galore

From now until 17 August 2021, Yoodo users can purchase the Mobile Legends : Bang Bang Add-On for only RM1, after which it will retail for RM5.

This Add-On comes with 20GB of Mobile Legends : Bang Bang data, as well as 1,000 in-game diamonds!

Connectivity On-The-Go

Yoodo is partnering with BHP and Petronas to offer their Yoodo SIM packs at only RM3 throughout Peninsular Malaysia.

The SIM Pack are also available at 10 Celcom Bluecube outlets in Mid Valley Megamall, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, AEON Bukit Tinggi, Laman Seri, Sunway Pyramid, NU Sentral, Prima Sri Gombak, Bandar Baru Klang, IOI Mall and Kajang.

Yoodo announced these new product features for 2020 :

  • Renew Anytime : users can completely customise the data, voice and SMS of their mobile plans anywhere and at any time without having to complete the full month cycle.
  • Power Pass : a flexible data booster that offers 100GB of data for 60 mins at RM2.
  • new data add-ons for TikTok, Viu, Call of Duty Mobile, Boostm and an upcoming add-on for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
  • Enhanced Roam Like Home : which now offers a 3-day and 7-day pass, so users can use their mobile plan abroad for lower than RM5 per day.
  • Yoodo Rewards : Customers who purchased a total of 10 Add-Ons will get 1 free and those who have purchased 10 days worth of Roam Like Home passes will get 1 additional day free.

 

Yoodo eSports + Active Sports Activities For 2020

Yoodo will be sponsoring and organising a series of thrilling esports tournaments across 2020. These tournaments include :

PMNC 2019 officially starts with 6 qualifiers across Malaysia :

The Yoodo Digital 4G Service

Yoodo is a fully-digital, fully-customisable mobile service that runs exclusively on the Celcom 4G network. It is essentially what Yes has been since June 2016 – a 4G-only network with fast mobile Internet and VoLTE capability.

Some people are calling Yoodo a new telco, or a MVNO (mobile virtual network operator). Neither are accurate, because Yoodo is a Celcom service. To explain what Yoodo is, and what it offers, there is no one better than Farid Yunus, Head of Yoodo.

Why Is Celcom Launching Yoodo?

With the exception of Yes, which uses a pure 4G LTE network, all other mobile networks in Malaysia employ a hybrid analog-digital network. This allows them to continue using their existing 2G and 3G networks, while supplementing them with the faster digital-only 4G LTE network.

They will all need to migrate their users to a fully-digital network to free up spectrum, and eventually upgrade their network to 5G. Creating these digital-only services allow them to do that, without disrupting their existing hybrid network.

They also need to catch up with Yes, which has been touting the speed and availability of their 4G LTE network.
