Yes Altitude 4G LTE Merdeka & Malaysia Day Promotion

Kuala Lumpur, 22 August 2016 – Fresh off its official 4G LTE launch, Yes has introduced a new bundle plan under a limited-time “Merdeka & Malaysia Day Promotion” in conjunction with the upcoming National Day celebrations.

With this bundle plan, customers can own the Yes Altitude 4G LTE smartphone at an even lower price of just RM188 (RRP RM399 with GST) for a monthly commitment of RM68 with the Yes 4G LTE 68 postpaid plan.

Yes Altitude 4G LTE

The Yes Altitude smartphone is already considered one of the lowest priced full-fledged 4G VoLTE smartphones in the Malaysian market. Now, under Yes’ latest promotional bundle, the Yes Altitude gets more affordable than ever, offering the chance for consumers to enjoy the best of seamless LTE connectivity and high-definition VoLTE (Voice over LTE) services for merely RM188.

The phone sports a 5-inch HD IPS on-cell display and supports VoLTE for high definition voice calls which are up to 3 times and 6 times better quality than calls made on 3G and 2G networks respectively. Its dual-sim functionality allows users the convenience and flexibility in managing their SIM cards for the best data and best voice call rates in the market. The Yes Altitude also comes in three colour variants – gold, white and grey.

To enjoy the Yes Altitude at RM188, customers can sign up for Yes 4G LTE Postpaid 68 plan which comes with high monthly data quota of 16GB – 12GB of 4G LTE and 4GB of 4G Broadband in a single, convenient price plan. This 12-month contract bundle plan also comes with free unlimited on-net VoLTE (Voice-over-LTE) calls and SMS at a low monthly commitment fee of RM68 (RM72.08 with GST).

The festive promotion is in line with Yes’ continued effort to help close the digital divide between urban and rural communities, by offering Malaysians an easier and more affordable access to enjoy the best of both 4G worlds without having to pay a premium price for plan and smartphone.

Yes 4G LTE Network Launch Coverage

On the 30th of June 2016, YTL Communications officially unveiled the Yes 4G LTE network. As a fully digital network with VoLTE capability, it is the most advanced 4G LTE network in Malaysia promising faster mobile Internet and HD audio.

This event also makes Yes the 5th mobile service provider in Malaysia, providing much needed competition. In fact, Yes fired a shot across their rivals’ bows with an amazing line of prepaid and postpaid plans. Watch CEO Wing K. Lee tell you why the Yes 4G LTE network is superior to the other mobile services in Malaysia.

They even brought in an expert panel (moderated by Bloomberg Malaysia’s Sophie Kamaruddin) to talk about the importance of developing Malaysia into a 4G nation.

If that was not enough, YTL Communications also launched their own smartphone – the Yes Altitude. This is part of Yes 4G’s strategy to make 4G more accessible to the Malaysians from all walks of life.

The launch was officiated by the Malaysian Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr.) Salleh Said Keruak, together with YTL Corporation Berhad Chairman Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Panglima (Dr) Yeoh Tiong Lay, YTL Corporation Berhad Managing Director Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr.) Francis Yeoh Sock Ping, YTL Communications Executive Directors Dato’ Yeoh Seok Hong, and Dato’ Yeoh Soo Keng, as well as Chief Executive Officer Wing K. Lee.

Yes 4G LTE Prepaid & Postpaid Plans Revealed

Yesterday, Yes became Malaysia’s 5th telco when they launched their new 4G LTE network. As the most advanced 4G LTE network and the first to offer VoLTE capability in Malaysia, Yes aims to be Malaysia’s 4G data leader in pricing and performance.

During the launch held at the swanky Majestic Hotel, YTL Communications CEO Wing K. Lee took the existing telcos to task, and showed how the new Yes 4G LTE prepaid and postpaid plans offer much better value for our money.

YTL Communications CEO Wing K. Lee also announced the availability of the new Yes Altitude smartphone to complement their new VoLTE-capable network. Now, let’s check out new Yes 4G LTE prepaid & postpaid plans!

Yes 4G LTE Prepaid Plan

The starter pack for the new 4G LTE prepaid plan will only cost RM 10 (inclusive of 6% GST), and will come with the following preloaded features :

  • 500 MB of 4G LTE Internet (valid for 7 days)
  • FREE basic Internet (as long as the account is active)
  • RM 5 preloaded credit (for calls and SMS messages)
  • FREE calls and SMS messages to all Yes numbers
  • Flat rate of 9 sen per call block / SMS to all other networks

Here are the data pack top-ups you can purchase. The prepaid top-up with best bang for your buck is the Monthly 30 top-up. The RM 30 top-up buys you 30 days of network access and 4GB of LTE or broadband data.

Yes 4G LTE Postpaid Plans

There will be five Yes 4G LTE postpaid plans, ranging from RM 48 per month all the way to RM 158 per month. What’s really exciting is that they all offer the most mobile Internet quota in the market. Check them out!

Yes takes aim at their rivals by comparing their Postpaid 88 “Hero plan” against their “similar” offers. However, please note that the Yes Postpaid 88 plan actually costs RM 88 per month.

The RM 70 price is after the RM 18 deduction (first 11 months) for the RM 198 you must prepay to receive the free Yes Altitude smartphone. Ultimately, you still end up paying RM 88 per month.

Even though the Yes graphic above is a bit misleading, Yes is undoubtedly offering a lot more data at a much lower price point. Maxis, Digi, Celcom and UMobile will be hard-pressed to charge so much for their plans.

Yes Altitude Bundles

The Yes Altitude smartphone will come free with the Yes Postpaid 88 plan. However, you must prepay RM 198, which will be refunded in the form of 11 monthly rebates.
