October 3, 2017 – According to Red Hat, the percentage of businesses with advanced digital transformation strategies and implementations will rise in the next few years. As rapid application development is a necessity now, open source is increasingly being seen as a default choice for organizations in Malaysia and the region, enabling them to keep up with the evolving technology landscape.

The 2017 Red Hat Forum

Speaking at the 2017 Red Hat Forum Media Briefing here, Damien Wong, Vice President and General Manager at Red Hat ASEAN shared that though every organization has its own unique set of needs and obstacles when it comes to their digital transformation journey, Red Hat has noted three common challenges amongst its customers across numerous industries.

The challenges that have been identified are determining a cloud strategy that complements the business; building and delivering new applications faster; and utilizing the technology that is currently in place whilst bringing it up to speed to meet the overall business needs.

SSM Uses Red Hat Technology To Modernize IT Infrastructure

Kuala Lumpur, 17 February 2017Red Hat, Inc., the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that it has been selected by SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia) to support the development of a new and advanced gateway for the registration of companies and businesses in Malaysia. Mesiniaga Berhad, a systems integrator with 35 years of experience, is the primary implementer for this initiative.

SSM Uses Red Hat Technology To Modernize IT Infrastructure

As Malaysia’s leading authority for the improvement of corporate governance, SSM helps promote compliance with business registration and corporate legislation through enforcement and monitoring activities. The new gateway is expected to simplify and speed up the registration process by reducing manual registration handling with an automated online system.

Implementing the new automated process involved replacing SSM’s existing Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solution with Red Hat JBoss Fuse, Red Hat’s lightweight, flexible integration platform for connecting applications, data, and devices across the extended enterprise. JBoss Fuse is well suited to help SSM ease the burden and complexity of managing point-to-point integration. The platform is also expected to help SSM reduce its time-to-market for new services, which can be reused and offered to other customers, reducing the need for SSM to develop additional services for the same requirements.

In line with the implementation, SSM’s technical team is set to undergo Red Hat Training programs to enable them to be able to maximize the capabilities of the Red Hat solution that is being deployed. The training programs are also expected to contribute to the overall enhancement of the team’s technical expertise.
