Sony Penang Lowers Flag After 37 Years…

Sony finally lowered the flag at its audio plant in Penang, Malaysia, marking a sad end to 37 years of operation.

 

Sony Penang Audio Plant : Flag Lowering Ceremony

On 18 December 2021, Sony officially lowered the flag at their PG Tec manufacturing facility in Penang.

According to Penang Kini, Sony had a flag lowering ceremony at their PG Tec manufacturing facility in Penang, at 8 AM on Saturday, 18 December 2021.

This sad end to Sony Penang comes just days after Intel announced a massive US$7 billion (RM30 billion) chip plant in Penang.

Sony Penang Audio Plant : Slated To Close By March 2022

Just over a year ago, Sony announced the closure of their PG Tec manufacturing facility, which spanned a land area of 172,000 m², with a total built-up area of 95,000 m².

Based in the Prai Industrial Zone, the Sony PG Tec facility produced audio products like the WH-1000XM3 and WP-SP900 headphones, wireless speakers, home theatre systems and Blu-ray players.

It was also the home of a local Sony R&D team that designed the Sony MHC-V81D sound system, amongst other audio products.

At that time, Sony said that the PG Tec audio plant would stop operations in September 2021, and close by March 2022.

The 3,400 or so employees at the Sony PG Tec facility were offered the option of a severance plan, or relocation to the Sony EMCS factory in Bangi, Selangor. Some 1,800 employees are local, while another 1,600 are foreigners.

What is KEF LSX?

The Edifier S350DB (Lazada) is the latest addition to the renowned Edifier Signature studio series. In this article, we will share its price and specifications, as well as two presentation and demo videos.

 

The Edifier S350DB

The Edifier S350DB (Lazada) is designed to offer sound quality on par with high-end studio speakers in a compact form factor. It uses titanium dome tweeters for high frequency sound, and a 3.5″ mid-range driver with an aluminium diaphragm and frame.

The Edifier S350DB (Lazada) also boasts a powerful 8″ subwoofer that is capable of producing bass as deep as 40 Hz. It has a total power output of 150 W RMS.

 

Digital Audio Processing

Levitating Portable Speaker PJ9

The PJ9 creates its stunning visual effect using powerful electromagnets housed inside the Levitation Station to give the speaker its unique trait of being untouched by any surface or wires when playing. OPPO just revealed the OPPO Sonica Wi-Fi Speaker. While the name OPPO is commonly linked to smartphones when mentioned, they actually have a separate entity, called OPPO Digital, which specialises in high-end audio visual equipment.

20 June 2016 – Sony has unveiled a powerful addition to its wireless speakers line-up, a new range that is dedicated to delivering deep bass. Expanding the existing EXTRA BASS series for when you’re on the move and bringing club sounds into your home, dance music lovers can now enjoy the intensity of deep bass notes in a variety of locations using the one box high power audio system or portable wireless speakers.

 

SRS-XB3 / SRS-XB2 Portable Wireless Speakers

Impress your friends when you’re out and about with the SRS-XB3 and SRS-XB2 portable wireless speakers with dedicated EXTRA BASS button to pump up the party.

A whole host of big technologies are housed inside the XB3 to achieve a hugely punchy bass for its small size. Both wireless speakers have multiple usage options. The SRS-XB3 is a party chameleon; use it horizontally or vertically depending on your own style or space limitations.
