2022 Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV + Soundbar Showcase!

We were given the opportunity to view Samsung’s new 2022 Neo QLED 8K televisions, as well as the new 2022 Ultra Slim Soundbar that complements them.

The 2022 Samsung Neo QLED 8K televisions come in a variety of sizes, from 55 inches all the way to 85 inches. Take a look!

Every model is built around a new Neural Quantum Processor 8K, which has 20 independent neural AI networks, each analysing the content’s characteristics to deliver the best picture quality, regardless of the source.

It also powers a new feature called Real Depth Enhancer. Real Depth Enhancer scans each frame, and maximises the object’s contrast with the background.

The new processor also uses Shape Adaptive Light Control technology to create precise lighting and pure blacks using Samsung’s best Quantum mini LED display panel.

In fact, the 2022 Neo QLED 8K televisions are the world’s first Pantone-validated displays, which mean they will authentically reproduce more than 2000 colours, as well as 110 new skin tone shades.

These new models also use AI technology to automatically adjust the brightness and colour temperature of the display to match the room’s lighting condition.

The 2022 Neo QLED 8K televisions boast Samsung’s new Smart Hub user interface, powered by Tizen. They are also designed to provide the ultimate gaming experience through features like :

  • four HDMI 2.1 ports
  • Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro 4K 144 Hz gaming
  • Super Ultrawite GameView, and
  • Game Bar

These televisions are also more eco-friendly, featuring eco-packaging and a more efficient SolarCell Remote that is completely battery-free, and can recharge through 2.4 GHz radio frequency harvesting – drawing power from your WiFi router’s signals!

The Neural Quantum Processor 8K also uses artificial intelligence to create a truly immersive soundscape by analysing the picture in real time, to deliver positional audio cues through the Adaptive Sound technology.

The flagship QN900B model even features a 90 watt 6.2.4 channel audio system, featuring Dolby Atmos with Object Tracking Sound Pro.

Finally, Samsung added Wireless Dolby Atmos to these models, ensuring that you can connect them to the new 2022 Ultra Slim Soundbar without using a HDMI cable!

The new Ultra Slim Soundbar delivers true 3.1.2 sound with two up-firing channels, and is now much thinner and smaller.

The Frame (2020) by Samsung : What You Need To Know!

Samsung just unveiled the 2020 edition of The Frame – a lifestyle television designed for art lovers! Here is what you need to know!

The Frame (2020) by Samsung : For Art Lovers

The 2020 edition of The Frame is one of the three Samsung lifestyle televisions being introduced this year. The others being The Sero and The Serif.

The Frame is designed to appeal to art lovers, with a design that mimics the frame of an art piece. And it displays an art piece when you turn it off!

The Frame (2020) by Samsung : What You Need To Know!

Samsung summarises The Frame 2020’s KSP (key selling point) very simply – TV when it’s on. Art when it’s off.

Frame-look Design

The Frame is designed with an elegant, modern frame-look design that will blend in with your decor.

Samsung also offers a choice of four bezel colours to customise The Frame 2020. They are locked in place by magnets, so it’s really easy to swap them out whenever the need arises.

Art Mode

Instead of turning into a blank screen, The Frame 2020 automatically displays your personal art collection when it’s turned off.

You can subscribe to the Samsung Art Store to access over 1,400 art pieces from famous artists and galleries including Museo del Prado, The Albertina, and Saatchi Art.

You can also display your personal works of art or photos, which can be transformed using its six built-in filters.

100% DCI-P3 Colour Volume

Thanks to Samsung Quantum Dot technology, The Frame 2020 delivers a full 100% DCI-P3 colour volume, as certified by Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE).

It also boasts Dual LED technology to increase contrast based on backlight temperature for optimal colour tone.

No Gap Wall-Mount

Mounting on the wall using the Samsung No Gap Wall-Mount lets it look like a real work of art. And yet, it allows you to tilt it sideways, forwards or backwards.

One Invisible Connection

The Frame 2020 maintains its clean lines thanks to the One Invisible Connection, which eradicates the usual cable mess by using a single, thin almost invisible cable to connect to the One Connect Box.

Brightness + Motion Sensors

The Frame 2020 uses its brightness sensor to automatically optimise its brightness and colour tone for a natural look, irrespective of the lighting conditions.

Its motion sensor lets it detect your presence, to display artwork whenever you are in the room. And when you leave, it turns off to save electricity.

Adaptive Voice Amplifier (AVA)

The Frame 2020 monitors ambient noise levels in real-time to detect when they may interfere with your enjoyment.

When it gets noisy, it will isolate, boost and clarify voices or dialogue playing on the TV, so you won’t miss a thing.

Smart Connectivity

The Frame 2020 is a Smart TV with WiFi 5 (WiFi-AC) and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity built-in.

This allows you to connect your smartphone or tablet to it, mirroring its display or streaming content from it.

You can control it using either the One Remote Control, or the SmartThings app, or by Bixby voice commands.

The Frame (2020) by Samsung : Price + Availability

The Frame (2020) by Samsung is available in two sizes, at these price points :

2020 Samsung QLED 8K TVs Are NEXTGEN TV Ready!

Samsung just announced that their 2020 QLED 8K TVs will be NEXTGEN TV ready, thanks to the inclusion of ATSC 3.0 tuners!

Find out what it means to have an ATSC 3.0 / NEXTGEN TV tuner built into your TV!

2020 Samsung QLED 8K TVs Are NEXTGEN TV Ready!

When Samsung unveiled their monstrous 2020 QLED 8K Q950 TV, they also shared that ALL 2020 Samsung LED 8K TV models will come with a built-in ATSC 3.0 tuner, making them NEXTGEN TV ready!

NEXTGEN TV is the marketing name for the ATSC 3.0 (Advanced Television Systems Committee 3.0) standard that will go on air this year in at least 61 markets.

One of the key benefits NEXTGEN TV offers over the current ATSC 1.0 standard is its ability to receive and playback content in up to 4K resolution, rather than just Full HD.

The other benefit is an improved audio experience through its Multi-Channel Object Audio and Dialogue Enhancement feature.

With an ATSC 3.0 tuner built-in, users of the 2020 Samsung QLED 8K TVs will get to enjoy 4K broadcasts and content, together with superior audio quality, once the signals start transmitting in their locations.

2020 Samsung QLED 8K Q950 TV : First Look!

At CES 2020, Samsung peeled away the covers, and unveiled the 2020 Samsung QLED 8K Q950 TV!

Let’s find out what’s new in Samsung’s next-generation QLED 8K TV!

2020 Samsung QLED 8K Q950 TV

The 2020 Samsung QLED 8K Q950 TV is the first television in the world to feature surround sound audio, an incredible 8K resolution, and an ultra-thin form factor.

Ultra-Thin Design

Samsung almost entirely eliminated the bezels around the Q950’s display, creating an incredible screen-to- body ratio of nearly 99 percent.

When viewed from ten to fifteen feet (3 to 5 meters) away, you will experience what Samsung calls the Infinity Screen effect – where the bezels seem to disappear!

The Q950 is also extremely thin – only 15 millimetres across the entire display. You can lay it flush against the wall, or mount it on a media stand.

Certified 8K Resolution

The 2020 Samsung QLED 8K Q950 TV is certified to meet the requirements of both the 8K Association’s Certified Test Specifications, as well as the CTA 8K Ultra HD Display Definition.

It will be able to playback native 8K content, letting consumers stream AV1 codec videos filmed in 8K. But for lower resolution content, the Q950’s Quantum Processor 8K has improved AI upscaling capabilities that uses machine learning to create 8K images from lower resolution sources.

Optimal Picture Quality

The Q950’s Adaptive Picture feature uses light sensors and AI to analyse the ambient light and distribution of light in a particular scene, so it can ensure that the TV can maintain a clear picture with great contrast even in bright rooms, or with glare from a light source.

Because a significant amount of content we consume these days are through streaming on the Internet, it comes with AI ScaleNet that compresses content as it leaves the content provider, restoring it on reaching the TV. This effectively cuts down by half the bandwidth required for any streaming content.

Of course, AI ScaleNet requires the content provider to support such a feature. Samsung is currently working with Amazon on this feature, with plans to use it for Prime Video content, from standard definition to 4K.

NEXTGEN TV Ready!

The Q950 will come with a built-in ATSC 3.0 tuner, making it NEXTGEN TV ready! It will be ready to receive and display 4K content once NEXTGEN TV networks come online later this year!

Immersive Audio Experience

As Samsung’s flagship QLED 8K TV, the Q950 comes with the best audio solution Samsung engineers can come up with.

It has speakers on every side of the display, with subwoofers in the back, delivering 5.1 channel surround sound. But its immersive audio experience goes beyond the hardware.

The Q950 uses Object Tracking Sound+, an AI-based technology to match the audio with the movement of objects on the screen. Its Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) technology adjusts the volume of dialogue in response to common sounds like a blender or vacuum cleaner.

Finally, the Q950 can use its built-in speakers as an additional audio channel, when paired with a 2020 Q Series soundbar, like the Q800. Its Q-Symphony feature will pair the audio from both devices to create a dynamic and multi-dimensional soundscape.

[adrotate group=”2″]

Connected Family Hub

The 2020 Samsung QLED 8K Q950 TV comes with access to Samsung TV Plus – their free smart TV video service, with nearly 100 channels, including CBSN, Yahoo Finance, Lively Place, Bon Appétit, VEVO, Outside TV+, etc.

It also comes with Samsung Health on TV built-in. This will let your family members see their fitness activities, track their progress, and pursue fitness goals. They will also have access to free, exclusive content from Samsung fitness partners like Calm, FitPlan, Jillian Michaels, Echelon, Obe Fitness and Barre 3.

The 2018 QLED TV Year-End Price + Promotion Revealed!

Samsung revealed the 2018 QLED TV range in March 2018, promising unrivalled viewing experience without distractions. They recently invited us to a refresher briefing on the 2018 QLED TV range, and their year-end price and promotions. Here are the full details!

The 2018 QLED TV Media Briefing

Vincent Lee, Head of AV TV, Samsung Consumer Electronics, explains the key features of the 2018 QLED TV series.

Q Picture : Purest Pictures Without Distractions

To create even more stunning picture quality with pristine contrast, the TVs feature the new Direct Full Array which uses a panel with zones of smartly controlled backlighting that adjust automatically to deliver deep blacks and pure whites. This reduces blooming and halo effects and enables deeper contrast, with inky blacks and brilliant whites.

Advanced Anti-reflection technology ensures that the TVs’ spectacular picture quality can be enjoyed from almost any angle, and also helps boost contrast. Aligned with the new products, which include models wider than 55 inches, Q Engine technology automatically upscales on-screen content to UHD levels to further enhance viewers’ immersion.

Q Style: Spend Time Watching, Not Searching

[adrotate group=”2″]

Samsung’s 2018 QLED TVs’ style changes based on innovative technologies are also noticeable. Magic Screen is an energy-saving function that allows the TV to elegantly display images as well as real-time information such as the weather or news. For wall-mounted TVs,

Magic Screen can mimic the pattern on the wall behind the TV to create an astonishing visual effect in which the TV blends seamlessly into the wall.

Samsung has also introduced a simple solution to eliminate cable clutter, called the One Invisible Connection, which integrates power cables and data lines that were previously separated to allow the TVs to harmonise with their surrounding aesthetic. Available up to 15 meters, it frees consumers from having to place their TV near data or power outlets.

Q Smart: Value Beyond Investment

The new QLED TVs are designed to seamlessly connect with SmartThings-compatible devices to offer users even greater control over their home’s smart technology. In addition, users can access a variety of apps on the QLED TVs that they can enjoy at any time through one intuitive menu.

See The Unexpected With Samsung x Red Bull

Samsung Electronics, in collaboration with Red Bull, announced it will release a series of videos called See the Unexpected, featuring top extreme sports athletes showcasing their skills throughout iconic locations in Morocco. “See the Unexpected” combines the talents of Red Bull athletes with Samsung TVs that deliver the best in television picture quality in one distinct video series.

See the Unexpected

The “See the Unexpected” video series features Red Bull athletes including parkour athlete, Jason Paul, motorcyclist Robbie Maddison and wakeboarder Felix Georgii.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Jason Paul is world-class free runner who spends his time travelling the world, turning cities into playgrounds. Paul was named Red Bull’s Art of Motion champion from 2010 to 2012. Robbie Maddison, born in Australia, holds the world record for the highest jump in motorcycling and has also won the Best Stunt with a Vehicle honor at the Taurus World Stunt Awards in 2013 for his work in the film “Skyfall.” Felix Georgii, born in Germany, is pushing the boundaries of wakeboarding by focusing on hitting gnarly rails and ledges.

With Morocco serving as the backdrop in the video series, the athletes took their talents to “unexpected” places to perform various high-action maneuvers, with locations including Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue City” for its vibrant color, a swimming pool in Marrakech and a port city named Essaouira. Each location was selected to highlight the juxtaposition between the unique and colorful locations of Morocco with the impeccable talents of each athlete and their performances.

Through the partnership, Samsung and Red Bull are aiming to showcase uncharted destinations and share new and surprising action that normally wouldn’t take place in these locations. In bringing together the best in extreme sports and the best in picture quality, viewers are able to see first-hand the top-quality performance of Samsung’s premium televisions, as well as the capabilities and talent of Red Bull athletes.

The videos, along with a 30-minute documentary piece, were launched on Samsung’s TV Plus channel, as well as Samsung and Red Bull digital channels on June 29. Customers who visit select Samsung retail locations can view the four-minute “See the Unexpected” video on Samsung’s large-scale QLED TV screen.

The Samsung Gravity & Studio Stands Are Now Available!

Samsung Electronics just announced the rollout of its QLED TV accessories, featuring unique TV stands and its own transparent ‘Invisible Connection’ optical cables. With the introduction of these QLED accessories, Samsung is reinforcing its commitment to providing users with the flexibility and choice to place their TVs anywhere in the room.

The Samsung Gravity & Studio Stands

In addition to the standard TV stand that comes with all QLED TVs, consumers can now purchase the Samsung Studio Stand or the Samsung Gravity Stand to match their personal tastes and lifestyle. Both stands are available for purchase at all Samsung brand stores for only RM 2,999 / ~US$ 714.

The Samsung Gravity Stand

With a contemporary look and feel, the Samsung Gravity Stand enhances rooms with its modern design and shape. Comprised of stainless steel, which is often used by architects and furniture manufacturers due to its strength and aesthetic appeal, the Gravity Stand is so discreet that the QLED TV looks as if it were floating when affixed.

The stand’s small size also enables the TV to be placed in previously limited spaces. The Gravity Stand also supports the functionality to turn the TV screen up to 70 degrees (up to 35 degrees left or right).

The Samsung Studio Stand

The Samsung Studio Stand is designed to allow the QLED TV to be displayed as a masterpiece in the home. Without extra furniture, such as a TV cabinet or bulky entertainment console, the Studio Stand provides consumers with the ability to easily place their TV anywhere in their home.

Standardised Stand Structures

Previously, each TV model had its own standard and dimensions for its stand. Today, Samsung has standardized its TV stand structures, making them compatible for 55-inch and 65-inch models including the entire QLED TV series – Q9, Q8 and Q7. This standardization of stand structure enables Samsung televisions to be more easily mounted and replaced as needed.

No-Gap Wall Mount

[adrotate group=”2″]

For those who wish to mount their TVs, Samsung’s unique no-gap wall mounting system is the suitable solution. Samsung plans to open the mounting solution for its QLED TVs to the TV industry to support the growth of the TV accessories market.

Samsung Invisible Connection

Additionally, Samsung has released its new Invisible Connection, which helps connect the TV to its peripheral devices with a thin, transparent optical cable that is 1.8-millimeters in diameter. A 5-meter option is included with the QLED TV purchase.

Using a single thread of transparent cable, this technology allows users to better manage messy and unsightly cables that typically surround the TV. As a result, Invisible Connection allows consumers to reclaim their space and elevate their home décor.

The Samsung QLED TVs Launched Globally In Paris

Paris, France. 14 March 2017Samsung Electronics today unveiled new details surrounding its premium line-up of QLED TVs and The Frame at a global TV launch event in Paris, further demonstrating Samsung’s leadership in defining the future of home entertainment with advanced cutting-edge technology.

“At Samsung, we strive to provide our customers with the most advanced technology to deliver unrivaled viewing experiences and cutting-edge designs that complement their everyday lives. With state-of-the-art picture quality, design, and smart features, our 2017 lineup is truly ushering in a new era for television,” said HS Kim, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

We had earlier explained the Samsung QLED technology to you, and showed you the complete 2017 Samsung QLED TV range. Be sure to check those articles out.

The Samsung QLED TVs Launched Globally In Paris

Samsung selected Paris, “the City of Lights,” to unveil the “TV of Light,” a name given to the QLED TV for its delivery of optimal brightness levels and stunning visual experience. The venue choice for the event at the Louvre Museum – known for its rich history in art and culture – also highlighted Samsung’s focus on the Lifestyle TV concept, represented by two works of arts, the Samsung QLED TV and The Frame.

The latest QLED TVs were designed with the consumer in mind and focus on addressing three key consumer pain points through the solutions known as Q Picture, Q Smart and Q Style. Samsung once again worked with Yves Behar, a renowned Swiss designer, to create the innovative TV, The Frame and offer consumers an elegant masterpiece that seamlessly blends into the interior of any home.

Q Picture: Perfect combination of light and color

The newly-announced QLED TV takes quantum dot technology to the next level with advancements in light efficiency, stability and a wider color spectrum. With new metal quantum dots, the QLED TV addresses all the major aspects of picture quality, including viewing angle, color volume, brightness and bold contrast.

The QLED TVs can express accurate color and achieves a 100 percent color volume – the highest on the market today, earning accreditation by Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE), one of Europe’s largest technical-scientific associations.

In addition, the QLED TVs‘ rich, deep black levels and bold contrast provide a consistent viewing experience regardless of a room’s lighting. The QLED TVs’ advanced HDR 2000 functionality allows users to see every hidden detail as it was meant to be seen, with no loss or distortion of color.

Be sure to check out our article – The Samsung QLED TV Technology Explained!

Q Smart: Elevating the home entertainment experience

Samsung’s Smart Hub has been expanded to offer an even more intuitive and unified experience, directly via the QLED TV. The enhanced Samsung One Remote now supports more devices and offers voice control capabilities across more Smart TV features. Paired with the latest Smart View App – available on Android or iOS mobile devices – users will enjoy their personalized Smart Hub.

Additionally, the TV Plus service offers the easiest and fastest way to find, purchase and watch the latest 4K films and entertainment. The new Music service also allows for easy searching and identification of songs heard in the background of TV shows and films.

Q Style: Designed to fit every lifestyle

This year, Samsung introduced new design elements that can fit into any home – regardless of the interior aesthetics or setup. The all-new Invisible Connection cable helps manage unsightly cords and clutter with a refined, single cord system. Consumers can now design their space with a single optical cable that brings all devices together, reclaiming the living room space once occupied by set-top boxes and external devices.

Samsung has also introduced the No Gap Wall-mount which brings the TV flush against the wall, closer than ever before, with a 15-minute installation process. For those who do not wish to mount their TV onto the wall, there is also a range of stylish Samsung TV stands. Designed like an easel, the Studio Stand is an ideal accompaniment for any artist-inspired living space, and with the Gravity Stand, the TV can be rotated easily and allows for optimal viewing at any angle.

The Frame: A new way to look at TV

Continuing its focus on premium design, Samsung announced more details surrounding its newest innovation – The Frame. Teased at CES 2017, The Frame was curated with an artful approach meant to elevate any room or viewing environment.

[adrotate banner=”4″]

Based on the new innovative technology, The Frame looks like a picture frame hanging on a wall when ‘Art Mode’ is on. Instead of fading to black like a conventional TV, the Lifestyle TV’s display transforms into a work of art, letting the users select custom-designed digital art pieces from The Frame. With more than 100 art pieces in 10 different categories – including landscape, architecture, wildlife, action, drawing and more – to choose from, it is sure to please every design preference. Paired with the numerous options for art layouts and colors, as well as customizable accessory options including interchangeable bezels and an optional Studio Stand, it truly complements the user’s living space.

Furthermore, The Frame is outfitted with Samsung’s new Invisible Connection and No Gap Wall-mount, allowing users to hang it anywhere because it can blend seamlessly into any living space without unsightly cables or wires.

The Samsung QLED TV Technology Explained

Samsung revealed their new QLED TVs at Samsung Forum 2017. They also showcased the advantages of the Samsung QLED TV technology. Join us for a quick look at the Samsung QLED TV technology, and find out why Samsung thinks it represents a quantum leap in TV technology.

What Is QLED?

QLED is Samsung’s brand of quantum dot displays. Despite the similarity in name, these are not a newer version of the OLED (organic LED) technology used in some TVs and many smartphones. Rather, quantum dot and QLED displays are “regular” LCD TVs enhanced with quantum dots.

For a quick, consumer-friendly summary of QLED technology, we have Jason Foo, Head of Samsung Malaysia’s AV Business Unit, to thank! 😀

Why Is QLED Better Than OLED?

Quantum dots are microscopic particles that very efficiently converts the light from the LED backlight into very specific colours. This ability to generate purer red and green light using a blue LED backlight allows QLED TVs to deliver a brighter display with a wider colour gamut.

Samsung quotes their new QLED TVs with maximum brightness levels of 1,500 to 2,000 nits, and the ability to reproduce 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Compare that to OLED TVs that can only deliver 400-500 nits, and about 70% of the DCI-P3 colour space.

In this video, we will show you the new Samsung QLED TV compared to a competitor’s OLED TV in three aspects – colour gamut, contrast ratio and viewing angle.

The quantum dot technology does not affect the QLED TV’s viewing angle. However, it appears that Samsung made some changes to the subpixel arrangement of the new QLED TVs, so that they have much better viewing angles. That’s why the comparison above shows a superior viewing angle – the traditional advantage of OLED displays.

What’s New About QLED?

You may recall that Samsung had already introduced quantum dot displays in their 2016 SUHD TVs. Their 2017 QLED TVs though, boasts a new “alloy quantum dot technology”.

They basically coated an InP (indium phosphide) core with an inner ZnSe (zinc selenide) shell, followed by a ZnS (zinc sulfide) outer shell, creating an alloyed InP/ZnSeS quantum dot.

These alloy quantum dots are more efficient in converting the light of the backlight unit (BLU) into specific colours required by the display. Because they are zinc-based, they are also far less toxic than cadmium-based quantum dot displays.

HDR Capability

HDR was not mentioned at all in Samsung Forum 2017, but it is an important feature for those intending to invest in a new TV.

3D TV is dead, and the new killer feature is HDR (High Dynamic Range). The industry is fast moving towards HDR displays and content. The term is catchy, readily understood by the masses, and most importantly – can be easily demonstrated to all.

[adrotate banner=”4″]

The 2017 Samsung QLED TVs all support HDR, but only in one format – HDR10. Samsung is focusing on HDR10 for 3 reasons :

  • it is an open standard, as opposed to Dolby Vision.
  • it is the basis for the 4K UHD Blu-ray HDR specifications
  • the vast majority of movies today are designed for 1,000 nits displays (that HDR10 supports), instead of 4,000 nits displays (that Dolby Vision supports)

Internet wars aside, the shift to HDR displays and content is just beginning. By the time HDR is ubiquitous many, many years down the road, perhaps we will have the 4,000 nits displays to justify a requirement for Dolby Vision.

The Official Samsung Forum 2017 Press Release

Singapore – February 16, 2017 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., today showcased its vision for new-generation technology and innovation at its 2017 Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania Forum in Singapore. The range of new products include the stunning new QLED TV line-up, the Family Hub 2.0 refrigerator, FlexWash, the washer-dryer combination model, and the POWERbot VR7000 – Samsung demonstrated its leadership in pioneering new technology that seamlessly fits into consumers’ lives through more personalized and intuitive ways.

“At Samsung, we remain committed to developing thoughtful innovations that not only address the ever-changing needs of our customers, but are also aimed at making a meaningful impact in their lives,” said Yong Sung Jeon, President & CEO, Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia and Oceania. “Despite some challenges, we’ve made big strides in 2016 and will continue to look forward as we engineer a smarter future together with our consumers.”

Samsung QLED, a New Frontier in Home Entertainment

Featuring incredible advancements in the development of Quantum dot technology, Samsung unveiled the new range of QLED TVs – the Q7, Q8 and Q9. The series, which add new metal material to nano-sized semiconductor quantum dots, deliver the perfect mix of light and color currently available in display technology. The result is a stunning large-screen QLED TV, with an incredibly accurate and precise picture that can be viewed from any angle or in any environment.

Samsung QLED TV takes Quantum dot technology to new heights with advanced light efficiency and stability, as well as a wider color spectrum than ever before. The new QLED TV addresses several consumer pain points that could be found in many of today’s displays, including brightness levels, lifespan, color range, details and viewing angles. It not only displays a 100% color volume and a peak brightness of HDR 1,500 – 2,000 nits, but also improves upon all aspects of picture quality.

Samsung also introduced new design elements that aims to enhance the QLED TV experience even further. The practically invisible optical cable helps to solve the issue of unsightly cords and clutter that can be found in the home with a sleek, single cord system. Additional accessories such as the optional “No-Gap Wall Mount,” makes mounting a TV flush against the wall simpler and faster. Finally, for those who desire a variety of stylish options when displaying their TV, Samsung introduced two new optional elegant TV stands – Gravity and Studio – that appeal to the consumer who prefers an un-mounted TV.

In addition to the new range of QLED TVs, Samsung also shared its plans to deliver a more unified experience for customers using various services and devices.

  • Samsung Smart Remote – Enhanced to support even more devices, the new Samsung Smart Remote will now offer voice control capabilities across more Smart TV features, allowing consumers to have increased flexibility as they enjoy all that their TV has to offer at the touch of a button.
  • Samsung Smart View app – Available on Android and iOS, the app allows users to get their personalized SmartHub experience right on their phone.

Enhanced Flexibility Within the Home

Samsung’s unwavering commitment to enriching and empowering consumers with technological innovation and world-class expertise in home appliances is manifested in category redefining products like the Family Hub 2.0 refrigerator, the FlexWash laundry system, the world’s first Wind-Free wall-mounted air conditioner, and the VR7000 POWERbot vacuum cleaner which was recognized with innovation awards at CES 2017.

As an upgraded version of Family Hub 1.0, which received wide acclaim last year, Family Hub 2.0 boasts an expanded, flexible line-up that allows consumers to choose the refrigerator that best matches their needs. It also enhances usability with intuitive app integration and new app partners to help families stay connected, manage food, and access more entertainment on the refrigerator’s 21.5-inch LED touch-screen. For added convenience, Samsung’s advanced voice technology has also been integrated across many of Family Hub 2.0’s apps. It also improved UX usability by allowing consumers to make more accounts of apps.

This year, Samsung is also introducing the FlexWash washer-dryer combination model that tightly integrates two washers and a dryer into one high performance appliance. The innovative unit boasts a range of core Samsung laundry technologies and features, including the popular AddWash Door. FlexWash is designed to cut laundry time in half while providing a higher level of care for clothes: the main front loader can either be an AddWash washing machine or dryer, offering consumers the flexibility to start the dry cycle without moving clothes, while the smaller top loader takes care of delicate items that require extra care. Both loaders can be operated simultaneously or separately.

Following the strong consumer response to the Wind-Free floor-standing air conditioner launched in Korea last year, Samsung has developed a new wall-mounted version. The AR9500M provides Wind-Free air conditioning, so the home maintains a comfortable level of coolness without the unpleasant feeling of direct cold wind. The unit disperses cool air through 21,000 micro holes at speeds slower than 0.15m/s, and creates ideal climates for deep and restful sleep.

Samsung also unveiled the latest addition to its line of POWERbot vacuum cleaners – the VR7000. Sporting a new slimmer design and enhanced features, the VR7000 ensures a more thorough clean, covering hard-to-reach corners and edges that hand-operated vacuum cleaners frequently miss. The POWERbot VR7000’s Edge Clean Master enables the unit to clean within 15mm of the wall while the Auto Shutter automatically drops down a barrier to help sweep up dust right at the edge.

Alongside new cutting edge products and technologies launched this year, the 2017 Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania Forum will also exhibit Twin Cooling refrigerators and the popular AddWash and Active Dualwash Laundry machine.
