Is controversial preacher Zakir Naik being funded by mamak restaurants in Malaysia?!
Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!
Claim : Zakir Naik Is Funded By Mamak Restaurants In Malaysia!
This message has gone viral on WhatsApp and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, claiming that controversial preacher Zakir Naik is being funded by mamak restaurants in Malaysia!
Persatuan Restoran Mamak Malaysia (PRMM) has 17,351 restaurants in Malaysia. They have been donating RM 10/mth to Dr. Zakir Naik. Monthly fixed income given to him at RM175,000.00 every month not only to destroy unity of this Nation but also to propogate Islamic values to non-muslim natives.
Spending your money by patronising in Mamak Restaurants is indirectly helping this India’s wanted FUGITIVE to destroy our peaceful Nation. 😡
Let us Boycott all Mamak Restaurants nationwide with immediate effect.
No Evidence Mamak Restaurants In Malaysia Are Funding Zakir Naik
There is really NO EVIDENCE that mamak restaurants in Malaysia are funding Zakir Naik, and here is what we know so far…
Fact #1 : This Is An Old Viral Claim
This claim about Zakir Naik being funded by the mamak restaurants in Malaysia isn’t new.
The viral message first started circulating in 2019, before going viral again in 2021, and now, in 2023.
Fact #2 : PRMM Does Not Exist
The Persatuan Restoran Mamak Malaysia (PRMM), which translates as Association of Mamak Restaurants of Malaysia, does not exit. There are only two associations in Malaysia representing mamak restaurants:
Malaysian Muslim Restaurant Owners Association (PRESMA / Persatuan Pengusaha Restoran Muslim Malaysia), and
Malaysian Indian Restaurant Operators Association (PRIMAS / Persatuan Pengusaha Restoran India).
Representatives of both PRESMA and PRIMAS said they have never heard of PRMM.
Fact #3 : Both PRESMA + PRIMAS Denied The Viral Claim
Both associations representing mamak restaurants in Malaysia – PRESMA and PRMAS, denied the allegations that they are funding Zakir Naik.
Fact #4 : Impossible To Have Over 17K Mamak Restaurants In Malaysia
While mamak restaurants may seem ubiquitous, there are not so many mamak restaurants in Malaysia.
PRESMA has about 4,000 members, although they are not all mamak restaurants.
PRIMAS, on the other hand, has about 1,150 members who operate banana leaf restaurants. Only 25% of its members were Indian-Muslims.
Fact #5 : This Is Just Malaysian Fake News
This is really just another example of fake news targeting people in Malaysia. Here are examples of other Malaysian fake news that I fact checked earlier.

Is former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin correct that Jews overseas are praying for Pakatan Harapan to win GE15 so it can Christianise Malaysia?!
Take a look at the viral claims, and find out what the facts really are!
Muhyiddin Yassin : Jews Want Pakatan Harapan To Win GE15!
On Wednesday, 16 November 2022, former Prime Minister of Malaysia and Perikatan Nasional’s candidate for Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin, made a startling claim.
At the Ceramah Mega PN Best event in Parit Jawa, Johor, he claimed that the opposition Pakatan Harapan party was an agent of Jews and Christians who want to Christianise Malaysia.
Here is a rough translated transcript of what he said in a short video clip that went viral on WhatsApp and social media:
His final decision was – don’t pick Barisan Nasional, and never ever vote for Pakatan Harapan. It’s a real danger. Pakatan Harapan is very dangerous.
I read this morning, after my morning prayers, that there is a video that shows a group of Jews (overseas) speaking about Malaysia. In their group, they are praying and talking about ways for Malaysia to “fall” into the hands of the opposition [Pakatan Harapan] that sponsors Jewish and Christian groups.
For me, this is dangerous! This could mean there will be a Christianisation process [of Malaysia]. Didn’t we hear the stories before, of Malays going to church on Sunday in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. It looks like they converted to Christianity.
I’m not think they will expand quickly because most are us are Muslims. But their agenda is that one day, they will take over Malaysia as one of their colonies. This is one of their long-term strategies.
Maybe we cannot see it now, but not too far in the future, if we are not careful, it can happen. Nauzubillah min zalik (May Allah protect us from that).
Jews May Want PH To Win GE15, But Not To Christianise Malaysia
It is sad, but not unexpected, to see yet another politician use race and religion to stoke fear in a last ditch effort to win an election.
Yes, this is yet another example of political FAKE NEWS, created by a politician to win votes, and here are the reasons why…
Fact #1 : No Evidence Of Jews Praying For PH Win In GE15
Muhyiddin Yassin claimed that he read about a video showing a group of Jews discussing about Malaysia, and praying for Pakatan Harapan to win GE15.
There is no evidence such a video exists. There is also no evidence that is a group of overseas Jews who are praying for a Pakatan Harapan win in GE15, or discussing ways to make that a reality.
The former Prime Minister did not back up his claims with the article or the video, as one would do if it’s true.
A video showing foreigners attempting to interfere in Malaysian politics, would have been DYNAMITE! Yet, the former PM did not use that dynamite…. why?
That’s likely because the video, or the article about such a group of meddling Jews, does not exist.
Fact #2 : Nothing Wrong With Jews Praying For PH Win In GE15
Even if there are Jews overseas praying for Pakatan Harapan to win in GE15, so what? Everyone – whether they are Malaysians or foreigners, is entitled to his/her personal opinions, and preferences.
If these overseas Jews prefer Pakatan Harapan to win, that’s their right. It’s no different from how Malaysians publicly proclaim which American presidential candidate they prefer to win… or whether they prefer Benjamin Netanyahu as Israeli PM, or Naftali Bennett.
As long as the Jews, Christians, Muslims or even atheists overseas are not interfering with the 15th General Election in Malaysia, it’s their right to pray or root for whatever politician or political party in Malaysia they prefer.
Fact #3 : Jews Are Not Christians, Christians Are Not Jews
I’m shocked that the Muhyiddin Yassin is not aware that Jews are not Christians, and Christians are not Jews.
He apparently claimed that the Jews want Pakatan Harapan to win, in order to Christianise Malaysia. Why on Earth would the Jews want to Christianise Malaysia??? They are Jews, not Christians!
That is like claiming that Star Trek fans want Pakatan Harapan to win, so they can turn Malaysians into Star Wars fans. Can you see how STUPID that is?
Fact #4 : Singapore Did Not Turn Into Christian / Jewish Colony
Muhyiddin Yassin alleged that the Jewish and Christian agenda is to turn Malaysia into a Jewish and/or Christian colony.
This appears to be an attempt to weaponise Malaysia’s past as a British colony, and he did not offer any evidence to back up this “nefarious plot”.
The problem with that claim is that – we have “evidence” in the form of Singapore, that it will not happen.
Singapore used to be part of Malaysia, before leaving the federation in 1965. Despite its common roots with Malaysia, Singapore has been ruled by the People’s Action Party – whose Malaysian equivalent would be DAP (Democratic Action Party), which is a member of Pakatan Harapan.
Yet, there is no evidence that Singapore has turned into a Christian or Jewish colony of any kind. Muslims in Singapore have the same rights as Muslims in Malaysia to practice their faith.
Fact #5 : Race + Religion Are The Refuge Of The Incompetent
Race and religion are often used by incompetent politicians to win votes, because they are bereft of ideas and/or abilities.
Good politicians will SHOW YOU what they did for the country, and tell you HOW they can help further improve the country.
Bad politicians can’t do that, so they have to rely on scaring you with false claims of attacks on your race and religion, so you will vote for them even though they have proven to be corrupt and/or incompetent.
So whenever a politician starts badmouthing someone’s race and/or religion, that should set off a red flag – what is he/she trying to hide?
Please WATCH OUT about such FAKE NEWS on WhatsApp and social media.
Remember – democracy does not guarantee us a good government. Democracy only guarantees us the right to vote out a bad government!
Happy voting on 19 November 2022!

Do vegan Tonkotsu noodles contain pork, and are therefore not halal for Muslims to eat?!
Take a look at the viral photo, and find out what the facts really are!
Claim : Vegan Tonkotsu Noodles Contain Pork!
A packet of vegan Tonkotsu noodles has gone viral, with people claiming that it contains pork, and is therefore not halal for Muslims to consume. It’s often accompanied by comments like:
Kepada yg suka sgt Japanese Food. Berhati2 lah. (To those who love Japanese food, be careful)
Dunia hari ini… hati2 bila membeli (Be careful when buying things in today’s world)
Something is off about this
Truth : Vegan Tonkotsu Noodles Do NOT Contain Pork!
The photo of the Tonkotsu noodles packet has gone viral, with Muslim netizens in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand deeply concerned about its halal status, so here is what you need to know…
Fact #1 : That Is A Packet Of Vegan Tonkotsu Instant Noodles
First, let me just point out that many netizens did not bother to look at the photo properly.
It is stated clearly on the packet that it contains Tonkotsu with pork bone broth flavour.
The small labels also point out that this packet is not only vegan, it has a gluten-free soup base.
Fact #2 : Vegan Tonkotsu Noodles Do Not Contain Meat
This packet of vegan Tonkotsu noodles does NOT contain meat. Certainly not pork.
In fact, vegan food products by definition do NOT contain any animal products. That means it won’t contain meat, eggs, dairy products, or any other animal-derived substances.
The soup is made to mimic the taste of pork bone broth, using yeast extracts and garlic powder amongst other things.
For example, here are the ingredients of the Nissin Tonkotsu Instant Noodles – a similar vegan tonkotsu ramen product :
As you can see – its ingredients are not only completely halal, they are also completely vegan.
Fact #3 : NAHA Halal Logo Was Used Without Permission
The packet of vegan Tonkotsu noodles also has a Nippon Asia Halal Association (NAHA) logo, which proclaims that it had been certified halal.
However, NAHA issued a statement on August 19, 2022 stating that it did not certify this noodle producer as Halal, and the brand did not receive their permission to use the NAHA Halal logo.
We never certify this company as halal. Even if the product is vegan, our Halal standards clearly explain that we dont allow this kind of label even if all ingredients are halal and process is halal dedicated. We are searching which company has used this label with our halal mark without our permission. Please discourage this and wherever you saw this product, please inform the store that this is fake label and fraud label.
Fact #4 : Invalid NAHA Logo Does Not Mean It Is Not Halal
I have to point out that NAHA did not certify this company, so the use of their label is illegal, even if the product itself is halal.
That is a certification issue, and does not mean that the vegan noodles are not halal.
For example, if the noodle company paid NAHA to certify this particular Tonkotsu instant noodle product, it would receive a certificate and the right to use the halal logo for just 1 year.
If the brand does not continue to pay NAHA for the halal certification, it will lose the right to use its halal logo, even though the instant noodles have not changed one bit, and remain just as halal as it was before.
In other words – certification confirms that the product is halal, but the lack of certification or even the use of lapsed / false certification does not mean that the product is not halal.
NAHA, for example, offers halal certification for mineral water with a 2-year validity period. But does that mean that mineral water without the NAHA logo is not halal?
Of course, if you are in doubt about whether vegan noodles are truly halal, it’s best to check with the religious authorities in your country.

Did these eight famous people mock God, and consequently died early?!
Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!
Did These Famous People Mock God + Die?!
This story has not only been posted on many websites, it has been repeatedly shared on social media and even WhatsApp and Telegram.
The stories have a variety of names – “Famous People Who Mocked God And Died Untimely“, “Untimely Deaths Of Famous People Who Mocked God“, or just “8 in 8‘, whatever that meant!
The story is very long, so feel free to skip to the next section for the facts!
DID YOU KNOW THESE FACTS? I SURE DIDN’T TILL NOW
Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!
Make a personal reflection about this…… Very interesting, read until the end……
It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap…”
Here are some men and women who mocked God :
John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said : ‘Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that… I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him’ (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.
Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.
Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.
Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During a show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: ‘God, that’s for you.’
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.
The man who built the Titanic
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: ‘Not even God can sink it’
The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic
Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: ‘I don’t need your Jesus’.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment
Bon Scott (Singer)
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
‘Don’t stop me;
I’m going down all the way,
down the highway to hell’.
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.
Campinas (IN 2005)
In Campinas , Brazil , a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend……
The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car: ‘My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.’
She responded: ‘Only If He (God) travels In the trunk, cause inside here….. It’s already full.’
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could
not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.
The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken
Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer)
said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.
Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.
Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive. ‘Jesus’
PS: If it was a joke, you would have sent it to everyone. So are you going to have courage to send this?.
I have done my part, Jesus said, ‘If you are embarrassed about me, I will also be embarrassed about you before my father.’
You are my 8 in 8 seconds. I am not breaking this. No way!
I’M TOLD THIS WORKS!!!!!
Bishop T.D. Jakes ‘8 Second Prayer.’
Just repeat this prayer and see how God moves!!
‘Lord, I love you and I need you, come into my heart, and bless me, my family, my home, and my friends, in Jesus’ name. Amen.’
Pass this message to 8 people
{EXCEPT YOU AND ME}….
You will receive a miracle tomorrow.
I Hope that you don’t ignore and let God bless you.

The John Lennon quote was somewhat inaccurate. He actually said,
Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue with that; I’m right and I will be proved right.
We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first — rock and roll or Christianity.
Jesus was all right, but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me.
More importantly, that interview was NOT conducted by a US magazine, but with Maureen Cleave from the London Evening Standard.
When it was first published in the London Evening Standard in March 1966, there was no outcry. It was only when Datebook, a US teen magazine printed the same quote five months later, that protests broke out in the United States.
Even so, it took fourteen years after that statement for a born-again Christian called Mark David Chapman to kill John Lennon.
But he didn’t shoot Lennon six times (as claimed). He shot 5 times at John Lennon, hitting him 4 times.
Was Mark David Chapman God’s avenging hand? If so, then it’s obvious that God believes that revenge is a dish best served cold.
Tancredo Neves Did Not Mock God
There is no evidence that Tancredo Neves ever made such a claim. It would have been out-of-character to mock God, since he was a religious Catholic by all accounts.
The Archbishop of São Paulo at that time, Cardinal Paulo Evaristo Arns, said,
“He was loved by the people and is being very much missed. He was also a personal friend and a good Catholic. I was at his side when he died.“
Tancredo Neves also did not need 500,000 votes from his party, because the Electoral College that elected him as President only had 686 members.
Tancredo won 480 (70%) of the Electoral College votes. 480 votes, ladies and gentlemen, not 500,000 votes.
Finally, Tancredo Neves did not die a day before being made President. He fell sick much earlier, complaining of abdominal pains, and was admitted to the hospital a day before his inauguration on March 15, 1985.
Cazuza, whose real name is Agenor Miranda Araújo Neto, did indeed die at the age of 32. However, he died from AIDS-related complications, not lung cancer as the hoax claims.
There was also no evidence Cazuza ever mocked God, specifically “while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said ‘God, that’s for you.’ during a show in Canecio [sic] (Rio de Janeiro)”.
Despite extensive searches, I have not come across a direct testimony by a fan who attended the concert, that Cazuza actually mocked God in that manner, much less actual published articles on that act.
In fact, I located the only video I have ever seen of a full concert at the Canecão in 1998 on YouTube. In that video, Cazuza never smoked a cigarette during the entire concert, much less mocked God with cigarette smoke.
You have to wonder how the writer of this hoax knew about this, when it is virtually impossible to prove this act ever took place in this age of Google and YouTube.
The Men Who Built Titanic Did Not Mock God
The writer of this hoax cannot even name “the man who built the Titanic“, and claimed that “Not even God can sink it“. That’s because there is no such person.
First of all, the Titanic was not built or even paid for by any individual. It was built by Harland and Wolff, a shipbuilding company from Belfast, Ireland for the White Star Line, a shipping company.
Neither J. P. Morgan (whose holding company financed its construction), nor Joseph Bruce Ismay (the chairman of White Star Line) ever made such a claim to a reporter. The same is true for Thomas Andrews, the naval architect who designed the Titanic.
Which of these 3 men built the RMS Titanic? L to R : J. Bruce Ismay, J. P. Morgan, Thomas Andrews
The claim that “Not even God can sink it” was purportedly made by a deck hand to Sylvia Caldwell, a second class passenger on the Titanic :
After we came aboard the Titanic we were watching deck hands carrying up baggage I said to one “Is this ship really unsinkable?”
He answered “Yes, lady, God himself could not sink this ship.”
White Star Line, and its parent company, International Mercantile Marine, did make claims that the Titanic was practically unsinkable (due to its watertight compartments), but at no point did any of their representatives claim that “Not even God can sink it“.

The claim that Marilyn Monroe was visited by Billy Graham just a week before she was found dead is categorically untrue.
As one of the most famous celebrities during her time, she was closely followed by fans and the press. So we know with certainty that Marilyn Monroe never met Billy Graham in her entire life.
Billy Graham also did not preach to Marilyn Monroe, or even had a conversation with her… ever.
According to a spokesperson for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, “there was no discussion between Marilyn Monroe and Billy Graham”. Therefore, we can safely say that this claim is utter nonsense.
Interestingly, Marilyn Monroe was a Christian who converted to Judaism in 1956, 6 years before she tragically died.
But whether she was a Christian or a Jew, she prayed to the same God, and it appeared that she took her religion rather seriously. At least, according to her rabbi, Robert Goldburg :
“She indicated that she was impressed with the rationalism of Judaism, its ethical and prophetic ideals and its concept of close family life,” wrote the Reform rabbi.
“Marilyn was not an intellectual person but she was sincere in her desire to learn. It was also clear that her ability to concentrate over a long period of time was limited.
However I did feel that she understood and accepted the basic principles of Judaism.”
Even after her divorce from her Jewish husband, Arthur Miller, Marilyn told Goldburg that she “remained committed to Judaism”.
Even if Marilyn Monroe did say that she did not need Jesus, that would not be an insult, but the correct belief of a practising Jew.
God would certainly not kill her for not accepting a prophet that was not part of her faith. Or would he?
Bon Scott Did Not Mock God
AC/DC released their hit single “Highway To Hell” in 1979, and yes, Bon Scott died six months later at the back of his friend’s car.
It was said that Bon Scott choked on his own vomit, after passing out from a night of heavy drinking. That is certainly a possibility when someone’s totally wasted.
However, his official cause of death was “acute alcohol poisoning“.
More importantly though, Highway To Hell became one of the most famous songs in the world. Millions of their fans sang the same song, and many more still do today.
Many other singers also covered the song, including Marilyn Manson, Lazlo Bane, Maroon 5, Bruce Springsteen and even Billy Joel. Yet, they did not die from the wrath of God, did they?
And why should God be angry at Bon Scott, or anyone singing about going down the “Highway to Hell”? The song in no way mocked God or any religion.
2005 Campinas Car Accident Likely Did Not Happen
The purported Campinas car accident in 2005 cannot be corroborated in any way. But the story itself is preposterous, for several reasons.
Which mother in the world would let her daughter sit in the car of obviously drunk teens?
Why would there be a crate of eggs in the trunk of a car driven by drunk teenagers?
In any accident, the trunk is the most likely part of the car to survive a head-on collision.
If the trunk survived intact (as the story claims), then the car would have been easy to recognise.
Common sense would dictate that this is nothing more than a rather silly urban legend designed to drive the fear of God into “foolish” teens.
Christine Hewitt Did Not Mock God
First of all, there is no evidence Christine Hewitt called the Bible “the worst book ever written”. Even if she said that, that would be a criticism of a book, not mocking God.
Christine Hewitt was found burnt beyond recognition in her Toyota Hiace minivan. However, that was only done to cover up the act of murder, and/or to destroy evidence.
She did not spontaneously combust or die as a result of the fire, as the hoax insinuates.
She was actually shot dead and her body placed in her minivan, which was then driven to a lonely rural road before being set on fire.
Her husband, David Lloyd Gordon, and his brother, Wordsworth Gordon, were ultimately charged with her murder.
Obviously, they are not the hands of God… unless God condones murder?

Take a look at the famous Jesus tree of Lebanon, and find out what’s the true story behind those viral photos!
Is The Famous Jesus Tree Of Lebanon A Real Miracle?
Pictures of the famous Jesus Tree – a tree that looks like Jesus crucified on a cross – are often shared on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, emails and elsewhere online.
These pictures are often accompanied by prayers and claims that it’s a true Christian miracle.
It really looks like Jesus crucified on a cross, doesn’t it? It would be quite a miracle if a tree actually twisted itself to look like that.
Or is it just pareidolia – the perception of a familiar pattern or image, where none actually exists?
The Famous Jesus Tree Of Lebanon Really Exists!
For Christians who need vindication for their faith, we have good news and bad news.
The good news is the Jesus Tree exists. The bad news is it is neither natural, nor supernatural. It is certainly not miraculous.
The Jesus Tree is the artistic creation of Lebanese poet, painter and sculptor Rudy Rahmè, who carved it out of a dead cedar tree in the forest of the Cedars of God (Al Arz el Rab) in Northern Lebanon.
On the 24 July 2015, when a James Morales took this picture below, and made it viral on Facebook by calling it evidence of “the power of God’s goodness…” :
Credit : James Morales, 24th July 2015
The truth and the far more mundane fact is that it took Rudy Rahmè 5-6 years to carve that sculpture. Here is a closer look at the sculpture.
Credit : Maria, 24th March 2014
Rudy Rahmè did not just create that famous Jesus Tree. He also carved Jesus’ image into other cedar trees in the Cedars of God.

The Jesus Tree Was Created By Man, Not God
Instead of misleading other people into thinking that the Jesus Tree is a supernatural or miraculous creation, we should give the artist Rudy Rahmè props for turning these dead cedars into such incredible works of art.
He is the true miracle behind the Jesus trees of Lebanon!

An orchid called the Flower of the Holy Spirit appears to change from a saint to a flying dove, when it blooms!
Learn more about this spectacular and divine miracle, and find out what the facts really are!
Flower of the Holy Spirit : From Saint To Dove!
People are sharing these photos of the Flower of the Holy Spirit, together with this helpful explanation :
This is one of the orchid species named Flower of the Holy Spirit. It starts blooming during Pentecostal period once a year.
Before bloom, it looks like praying saints, when the flower blooms, it looks like a flying dove. How amazing is God’s Creation!
Flower of the Holy Spirit : It Would Be A Miracle Indeed!
It would be a miracle if either of the two pictures above are the Flower of the Holy Spirit. The sad fact is that this is yet another divinely-inspired fake story.
The only factual thing about the whole post is that they are both orchids. Everything else was made up.
Fact #1 : Neither Are The Flower of the Holy Spirit
There is an orchid called The Flower of the Holy Spirit – Peristeria elata.
Also known as the Holy Ghost orchid, dove orchid, or flor del Espiritu Santo in Spanish, this is what it looks like!
Fact #2 : The Orchid On The Left Is Green-Yellow Catasetum
The orchid that looks like praying saints? That’s Catasetum viridiflavum, commonly known as the Green-Yellow Catasetum.
We hate to burst your divine bubble again, but generally their “arms” do not fold inwards. It’s hard to find photos that show these “saints” praying…
You have to look for the rare examples with drooping petals, and take the photos at a specific angle to make it look like a praying saint.
Fact #3 : The Orchid On The Right Is White Egret Flower
The orchid that looks like a flying dove is Pecteilis radiata, commonly known as the White Egret Flower, the fringed orchid or sagisō – the official flower of the Setagaya ward of Tokyo.
Not only is an egret a type of heron, not a dove… bird-like lip of this orchid droops downwards.
You need to frame the shot from underneath the orchid, at a certain angle, in order to obtain a photo that “appears” to show a flying dove.
Fact #4 : They Do Not Bloom During Pentecost
As far as we can tell, orchids do not observe the Pentecost – which is generally around mid-May to mid-June.
Catasetum viridiflavum (the “praying saints”) blooms sometime between end June to end September.
Pecteilis radiata (the “flying dove”) blooms sometime between early December and February.
Neither of the orchids in the picture actually bloom during Pentecost…
Fact #5 : It Would Be A True Miracle If It Happens
It would be a textbook case of a true miracle if Catasetum viridiflavum blooms into Pecteilis radiata during the Pentecost, or any other time for the matter.
But it is impossible for one orchid species to change into a different orchid species, just like how it is impossible for a Chihuahua to transform into a Doberman.
We will be sure to update you if this miracle ever happens. But for now, this is just … divine inspiration?

Did female parishioners go down on an evangelical pastor in Brazil, for his holy milk?
Find out what’s this holy milk business all about, and what the FACTS really are!
Parishioners Go Down On Pastor For Holy Milk?
This viral news has been circulating in several forms over the years. And it keeps getting shared as something new.
Many people just share the pictures, with some comments about the pastor offering his female parishioners his holy milk.
This is the “full version” that some are sharing, and is being posted on various “viral websites”.
Pastor Makes Females Give Oral In Church, Says To Get Holy Milk
Sao Paulo: An evangelical pastor has been arrested for raping his faithful, after convincing them that his reproductive organs contained “holy milk” which they need for holy healing.
Sobrino Valdeci Picanto, an evangelical pastor from Brazil, persuaded his followers that he practiced his strange beliefs because it was the way he preached the word, saying that his ‘milk’ was sacred.
And this pastor said his reproductives was blessed and that “the Lord had consecrated with divine milk of the Holy Spirit” and of course, had to go around evangelizing.
“He convinced us that only God could come into our lives through the mouth”, a follower said,
“Often, after worship, Pastor Valdeci asked us to do perform oral acts on him until the Holy Spirit came through seed and delivered funds to the church.”
“He gave as an excuse that his reproductive organs had been consecrated with “divine seminal fluid of the Holy Spirit.” Valdecir came to abuse some elderly, and defends himself by saying that ‘he had an encounter with Jesus in a brothel and gave him the mission of spreading the sacred semen throughout the state, beginning with the faithful Apore Assembly, of which he is responsible’.
Denise Pinheiro, delegate of the region, said, “Valdecir was caught red-handed while rubbing his reproductive units in the face of a local merchant, which promised to make more sales in her business due to the divine liquid.”
“When we acted Valdecir offered no resistance and even asked if I wanted to be part of the kingdom of heaven on the way to the police station.”
The truth is this is just a fake story, created by a “satire” website, and reposted by many viral websites for the purpose of getting page views.
Here are the reasons why this is just another fake story…
Fact #1 : Sobrino Valdeci Picanto Does Not Exist
There is no Brazilian named Sobrino Valdeci Picanto as far as we can tell, much less an evangelical pastor called Sobrino Valdeci Picanto. For an evangelical priest, he seems to have an extremely focused and limited digital footprint.
There are over 4,300 references to “Sobrino Valdeci Picanto” in Google and every single one of them referred to the same fake story.
More importantly, none of them were from a credible source like O Globo, The Rio Times, or even tabloids like Super Notícia.
Fact #2 : That Lady Ate Grass, Not Holy Milk
The picture showing a lady about to puke her guts out, is actually a picture of a South African lady who just ate grass on the orders of her pastor.
In January 2014, Pastor Lesego Daniel ordered his congregation to get on their knees and eat grass to “be closer to God”.
“God is at work and His people are testifying right now at the farm. TO GOD BE THE GLORY.”
After they ate the grass outside Rabboni Centre Ministries in Garankuwa (just north of Pretoria), he stomped on them until they vomited.
Fact #3 : The Lady In Screenshot Is A Porn Star
The “leaked video” does not exist, and the lady in the “screenshot” is actually a porn star called Tiffany Six.
The picture was a crop from a screenshot from one of her porn movies.
Fact #4 : It Was Created By Jesus Manero
This fake story was created by Victor Berriel, who posted it on the Brazilian satire blog, Jesus Manero on 11 January 2012.
The pastor in the original version was actually called “Valdecir Picanto Sobrinho“, not “Sobrino Valdeci Picanto”.
Here is a screenshot of the original Jesus Manero article, in Portuguese.

Church Members Convinced Retiree To Take Ivermectin!
At first, Vanessa thought her mother was suffering side effects from the Sinopharm vaccine that she received more than a week ago.
She told The Straits Times that it took months to convince her mother to get vaccinated, because her close friends from the Church of the Risen Christ told her that the mRNA vaccine was against God.
One church member, Clara Ng, even said that those advising Madam Wong to get the vaccine should “shut their mouth” unless they can “ask Jesus to tell me personally, that he commanded / ask me to go ahead and take the vaccine“.
In the end, her mother acquiesced to get the Sinopharm vaccine, instead of the more efficacious Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine.
While looking after her mother, she found out why – messages on her mother’s phone revealed that her friends from the Church of the Risen Christ were actively trying to stop her from getting the more efficacious mRNA vaccine.
One of the Risen Christ Church members, Clara Ng, even told her, “don’t ALLOW SATAN to win!!!” by getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
The Risen Christ Church members also advised her to buy and use ivermectin instead, with one church member selling them in boxes of 1,000 ivermectin tablets for S$110 (about US$81 / £59 / RM338)
When confronted, her mother admitted she purchased nine boxes of ivermectin from that church member, which she hid in her study room.
It should be noted that in Singapore, ivermectin can only be prescribed by a registered medical practitioner. It cannot be sold over-the-counter, or on the Internet.
Another church member then shared the dosage reference for taking ivermectin, that was taken from the FLCCC I-MASK+ protocol, which has never been tested in any clinical trial.
Vanessa also shared that two of her mother’s church friends – Judy Koh and Clara Ng – convinced her mother that :
the mRNA vaccine was against their religion (it’s not), and that Jesus would reach out to them if they are allowed to take it
on finding out that her mother was going to get the Sinopharm vaccine, telling her that she will not go to Heaven if she takes the second dose.
taking ivermectin will help to purge the vaccine and COVID-19.
Shockingly, none of her mother’s church friends contacted her or her mother after she was hospitalised.
Her mother was also removed from the church Telegram group, and her conversations there erased.
So Vanessa went on Facebook to write about her mother’s experience, and to warn people about COVID Know-It-All experts :
To all of you out there who feel that you know better than the doctors because of google, DON’T. There is nothing more disrespectful than trying to do someone else’s profession, when you are severely unqualified – and that applies for not just Judy, Clara but also shamefully, my mom.
Discuss with your family, no matter how you feel your good friends are better because they are more pious. Because sitting outside the A&E was not Judy Koh or Clara Ng. It was Vanessa Koh. Because sitting outside at the taxi stand hospital is not Judy Koh or Clara Ng. It was Vincent Koh. Because sitting at the admission counter paying for the bill is not Judy Koh or Clara Ng. It was Vanessa Koh.
Do not let the Judy-s and Clara-s in your life overlook the people that truly matters.
Family.

Did medical frontliners convert a dying patient to Islam, depriving her heirs of their inheritance?
Take a look at the viral video, and find out what the FACTS really are!
Did Medical Frontliners Convert Dying Patient To Islam?
A video showing three medical frontliners converting a patient to Islam has gone viral with this message :
# Muslim frontliners leading dying non muslims to accept islam. this is serious.😡 It will HV implications on their assets as non muslims family members cannot inherit them😨
😱
[19/09 pm] n: What are praying?
[19/09, 8:17 pm] : Shahada: prayer of accepting d Muslim faith
[19/09, 8:19 pm] : Once said the Shahada and witness by Muslim. Your are Muslim for life.
# Syahadat masuk islam, Zakir Naik ministry trained and equipped his disciples every where and ready with paper board to be effective in conversion
Truth : Medical Frontliners Helped Patient Convert To Islam
It is true that medical frontliners helped to convert a COVID-19 patient to Islam, while she was being treated in a hospital.
However, it was not a Zakir Naik initiative, and here are the facts…
Fact #1 : This Happened At The Duchess of Kent Hospital In Sabah
The video was recorded on 9 September 2021 at the Duchess of Kent Hospital (HDOK) in Sandakan, Sabah.
The patient – a 66 year-old Dusun lady from Beluran called Laimi – was admitted on 4 September 2021 after she contracted COVID-19.
Fact #2 : She Converted To Islam Voluntarily
Laimi had earlier expressed her desire to convert to Islam, because four of her five children as well as several of her siblings had already converted to Islam.
In a video call to her family from the hospital bed, Laimi told them that she wanted to convert to Islam.
Her son, Firdaus Fringco Abdullah, contacted a hospital official to request that his mother be guided in reciting that Shahada to convert to Islam.
Fact #3 : Three Nurses Helped Her Convert To Islam
At around 4 PM on 9 September 2021, three nurses helped Laimi recite the Shahada.
With that, she officially converted to Islam, with a new name – Nur Laila Tinggi.
Laimi @ Nur Laila Tinggi had kidney disease and required oxygen supplementation, but she was not dying.
She was not treated in the ICU, or mechanically-ventilated – that would have made it impossible for her to recite the Shahada.
As of 20 September 2021, she was recovering well and remained under observation.
Fact #5 : Her Conversion Has Implication On Inheritance
It is true that her conversion to Islam has serious implications when it comes to matters of inheritance.
As several fatwas have made clear – “A Muslim cannot be the heir of a disbeliever, nor can a disbeliever be the heir of a Muslim.”
So once Laimi converted to Islam and became Nur Laila Tinggi, her non-Muslim children and grandchildren automatically lose their inheritance, with one exception – she can apportion up to ⅓ of her fortune in her will (wasiat) to non-Muslim beneficiaries.
Without a specific wasiat, non-Muslims may not receive any inheritance from a Muslim.

Dr. Adrian Wong has been writing about tech and science since 1997, even publishing a book with Prentice Hall called Breaking Through The BIOS Barrier (ISBN 978-0131455368) while in medical school.
He continues to devote countless hours every day writing about tech, medicine and science, in his pursuit of facts in a post-truth world.
Dr. Kenny Yong is a COVID-19 survivor who is preaching fake and unproven cures.
Find out why he’s putting people’s lives at risk, and WARN your friends!
Dr. Kenny Yong : Rise Of An Antivax Doctor
Dr. Kenny Yong rose from obscurity to a social media celebrity of sorts, after releasing an audio message claiming to be a COVID-19 survivor who was chosen by God to teach us how to survive it too.
He now runs both a Telegram group, as well as a WhatsApp group, where he promotes fake or unproven treatments like ivermectin, as well as vaccine antibody tests, while sharing anti-vaccination videos and opinions – the irony of which is lost on his followers.
In this voice message, he explained how his mother was vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine that resurrected like a zombie, and infected him and his whole family.
That is an outright lie because the viruses in the Sinovac vaccine are completely dead, but people still believe his lies. Even today, he continues to peddle that lie.
Ironically, he self-medicated himself and his mother with ivermectin and other alternative treatments like high-dose vitamins, ultraviolet blood irradiation, stem cells and even ozone therapy… and FAILED!
Instead of seeking medical help as soon as things got worse, they only sought help more than a week later when they were both breathless.
Even though they both managed to get beds in hospitals that were filled to the brim, Dr. Kenny Yong berated the doctors arrogant for not giving them both his preferred “alternative treatments for COVID-19”.
In the end, his mother died of COVID-19, and Dr. Kenny Yong himself only survived after being resuscitated on four different occasions.
Dr. Kenny Yong : COVID-19 Survivor Peddling Falsehoods
Despite failing to treat himself or his mother with his alternative treatments, Dr. Kenny Yong believes that he is a Messiah chosen by God to teach us how to defeat COVID-19 like he did.
He is no Messiah. In fact, he is an object lesson on how NOT to treat or prevent COVID-19.
And when they both got infected, he put both their lives at risk by self-medicating with ivermectin and other alternative treatments.
They were only admitted to the hospitals when they “crashed” on Day 8, after a week of alternative treatments. This clearly shows that ivermectin and all those alternative treatments they took were USELESS!
Yet, he continues to promote ivermectin, even though it FAILED to prevent his entire family from getting COVID-19, and when they all got infected, FAILED to prevent both him and his mother from getting severe COVID-19.
And he calls the doctors who treated them “stupid”, “assholes” and “royal circus clowns” – the same doctors who saved him from dying FOUR TIMES.
It is impossible for his mother to get COVID-19 from her Sinovac vaccine. It is also wrong for him to blame her for infecting him and his family.
He falsely claims that natural immunity works better than vaccines – 50% of survivors 65 years or older can get reinfected, for example.
He almost died 4 times getting that natural immunity, and his mother died.
Ivermectin has not been shown to work against COVID-19 outside of a lab. In fact, the latest clinical studies show that it offers no clinical benefit against COVID-19, and it doesn’t stop transmission either.
The other alternative treatments he tried has not been tested or found to work against COVID-19 – stem cells, high-dose vitamins, ultraviolet blood irradiation, ozone therapy.
The FLCCC is a fringe group of doctors that promotes alternative treatments for COVID-19, that they themselves did not even test in any trial to prove that they work!
He started feeling “not good” from 1 – 3 July 2021
His PCR test came back positive for COVID-19 on 3 July 2021
Day 1 to 6 : He was “doing ozone [therapy], high-dose vitamins (including Vitamin C), ivermectin, ultraviolet blood irradiation and ozone step 1 and step 2 major autoimmune therapy
He and his mother (who also tested positive) were doing well from 3 – 7 July 2021, and they implanted 100 million units of stem cells
Nevertheless, both of them took an acute turn for the worst on Day 7, and “crashed” on Day 8.
He claimed that they both belong to a special “Day 8 deterioration” group that requires steroid treatment at the hospital.
His mother was admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital on 9 July, and was doing okay until 11 July.
But he claimed the hospital gave his mother the “wrong steroid”, claiming that she should have been given methylprednisolone from Day 1, as recommended by FLCCC.
He claimed that in her last 5 days at the Sungai Buloh Hospital, his mother had “Happy Hypoxia” with SpO2 of 52%, but they deprived her of a ventilator.
He also claimed that his mother was yelling for a ventilator for those 5 days but passed away on the morning of 16 July 2021.
He also complained that his family was not allowed to visit his mother while she was in the hospital.
Dr. Kenny Yong himself was admitted to the Sungai Long Hospital where he was given Clexane, a low-molecular weight heparin, for 15 days to treat COVID-19 hypercoagulability.
He claimed he was doing well but then “crashed” because they were giving him the “wrong steroid” – 80 mg of dexamethasone for the first four days, instead of methylprednisolone as recommended by FLCCC.
He claimed he stopped breathing for 4 times during his hospitalisation on 15 July, after which they switched him to 180 mg of methylprednisolone for the next 4 days, which he said turned things around.
Even though he was in the ICU, he claimed he was able to smuggle vitamin C, zinc, sodium bicarbonate, all of which he put into his own drip.
So he claimed that he was not saved by the hospital’s intervention, but his own treatments.
He also claimed that he was chosen by God to explain everything to other doctors and people how to treat COVID-19.
He called the DG Health of Malaysia and his doctors and specialists “stupid”, “assholes” and “royal circus clowns”.
He finally recovered and tested negative for COVID-19 on 21 July 2021.

There is a movement to petition JAKIM and JPM to lift measures that protect Muslims against COVID-19 infections.
Let’s take a look at the claims propelling this movement, and find out what the FACTS really are!
The JAKIM + JPM Petition To Lift COVID-19 Measures
There is a movement to petition JAKIM and JPM to lift measures that protect Muslims against COVID-19 infections.
Letter templates were prepared for Muslims to use to petition both JAKIM and JPM to lift these COVID-19 measures that they deem anti-Islamic and not based on scientific evidence :
physical distancing in prayer congregations
attendance limits for Friday prayers
prohibition of Friday prayers for certain age groups
ban on hand shaking, replaced with customs and rituals of the Jews and Christians
ban on breaking fast in surau
ban on eating together from food trays
strict SOP during prayers and other religious activities
Fact Checking The JAKIM / JPM Petition On COVID-19 Measures
Now, I will not be addressing the religious issues, which are best left to Islamic scholars.
Instead, I will address the scientific claims used in this petition to justify lifting protective measures for Muslims against COVID-19.
Fact #1 : COVID-19 Mortality Is High
The letter is correct that COVID-19 mortality is only 0.4% in Malaysia, and is much lower than other diseases.
However, that is only possible because of these protective measures keeping COVID-19 cases from overwhelming our hospitals and ICUs :
Mandating physical distancing and face masks in public
Contact tracing + quarantining of positive cases
Without those measures, our mortality rate would be far, FAR higher than 0.4%.
The average mortality rate is 2.68%, as of 23 April 2021, with the highest mortality rate in countries with overloaded hospitals and ICUs :
Yemen : 19.2%
Mexico : 9.2%
Syria : 6.9%
Sudan : 6.8%
Egypt : 5.9%
To put that into perspective, if you have 1,000 Facebook friends, and just half of them get infected with COVID-19, at least 13 will die.

Fact #2 : COVID-19 Survivors Do Not Always Heal Completely
The letter points out that over 90% of people with COVID-19 will recover. Again, that is only true in Malaysia’s current situation, because of measures mentioned above.
The rate of recovery will drop, if and when our hospitals and ICUs get overwhelmed. More people will definitely die.
Even those who survive may not recover completely. Those who recover in the ICU will require physical therapy, while those on ventilation could suffer lung damage.
COVID-19 itself damages the lungs, and survivors have to live with the damage for the rest of their lives.

Fact #3 : Mass Gatherings Cause COVID-19 Outbreaks
India offers a sad lesson on how dangerous mass gatherings are during this COVID-19 pandemic.
In March 2021, India allowed state assembly elections to proceed, with mass rallies in the states of Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Assam.
The state of Bengal saw a jump of 3,489% in COVID-19 cases in just 7 weeks, while Tamil Nadu saw a jump of 1,683% with triple the cases in Kerala.
Then India allowed the Kumbh Mela festival to take place in mid April 2021, where millions of devotees gathered to take a dip in the water of the Ganges river.
Within a few days, they detected over 1,000 COVID-19 cases out of just 50,000 samples taken during the festival.
Fact #4 : COVID-19 Kills Quickly When Hospitals Overwhelmed
There are only three ways to avoid dying from COVID-19 :
getting good hospital care, with access to ICU and ventilator
Right now, public vaccination just kicked off, and vaccination rates are super low.
If the letter writer insists on lifting measures that prevent people from getting infected, then people must rely on hospitals to treat them when they get sick with COVID-19.
But look at what is happening RIGHT NOW in India, where their hospitals are overwhelmed with COVID-19 cases, and their ICUs full.
oxygen and medical supplies ran out
people queueing for days outside hospitals, trying to get treatment
people dying at home, because there are no hospital beds
crematoriums running 24/7 to keep up with the deluge of dead bodies
Take a look at this drone shot by Danish Siddiqui of Reuters, showing a mass cremation of COVID-19 victims in New Delhi, India on 22 April 2021.
Is this what you want happening in Malaysia?

Did Nike make 666 pairs of Satan Shoes with human blood and a Satanic emblem?
Find out what’s the latest controversy, and what the FACTS really are!
Claim : Nike Made Satan Shoes With Human Blood?
Social media is rife with all sorts of claims about Lil Nas X’s controversial Satan Shoes.
While some are understandably upset about these shoes, others are making false claims about them.
Here is a great example of the kind of claims that are going viral over these Satan Shoes.
Nike made 666 pairs and named it Satan. Sold each pair for USD 1018 taken from Luke 10:18. Each has one drop of human blood and a Satanic emblem.
Nike pulls an American flag shoe because it was deemed offensive but is now releasing a Satan-inspired shoe.
Nike Satan Shoes Claims : The Facts!
Fact #1 : Satan Shoes Were Produced By MSCHF
Satan Shoes were produced by MSCHF Product Studio Inc. – a New York-based company – who created them in collaboration with “Old Town Road” rapper Lil Nas X.
Fact #2 : Satan Shoes Are Customised Nike Air Max 97 Sneakers
Satan Shoes are really customised Nike Air Max 97 sneakers. However, this does not mean Nike made them.
MSCHF bought regular Air Max 97 sneakers and customised them with what appears to be :
sole air bubble containing red link and a drop of human blood
bronze inverted pentagram lace emblem
embroidered Luke 10:18 and individual numbering on the side
The clear air bubble under each sole contains 60 cc (60 ml) of red ink and one drop of human blood.
While some have suggested that Lil Nas X contributed said human blood, the blood was donated by members of MSCHF.
Fact #4 : Nike Sued MSCHF Over Satan Shoes
Probably due to the fake news circulating about their involvement with Satan Shoes, Nike sued MSCHF on 30 March 2021.
The Nike lawsuit, which was filed with the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, stated that :
the Satan Shoes were produced “without Nike’s approval and authorization“,
Nike “do not have a relationship with Lil Nas X or MSCHF“, and
“Nike is in no way connected with this project”.
Their concern about being boycotted over false claims of involvement with Satan Shoes is apparent :
“There is already evidence of significant confusion and dilution occurring in the marketplace, including calls to boycott Nike in response to the launch of MSCHF’s Satan Shoes based on the mistaken belief that Nike has authorized or approved this product.”
Nike is asking the court to immediately stop MSCHF from fulfilling the orders for those shoes, and requested a jury trial to seek damages.
Notably, Nike did not include Lil Nas X in their lawsuit.
Fact #5 : Only 666 Pairs Were Produced
It is true that 666 pairs of Satan Shoes were produced. All but one were sold, allegedly in less than one minute.
The last – 666th pair – would be made available to a social media user, chosen by Lil Nas X from those who shared his tweet.
Fact #6 : They Were Sold For US$1,018
It is true that each pair of Satan Shoes were sold for US$1,018 – a reference to Luke 10:18 in the Bible :
KJV : And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
NIV : He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lighting from heaven.”
Fact #7 : They Were Featured In Montero (Call Me By Your Name)
These shoes were featured in Lil Nas X’s latest song – Montero (Call Me By Your Name).
In the music video, he can be seen sliding down a stripper pole from Heaven to Hell, wearing a pair of these Satan Shoes.

Every prayer session can last up to 30 minutes, and must be followed by sanitation for 30 minutes, before the next prayer session.
Prayers can last from 6 AM until 2 PM.
Home prayers on the night of 19 February 2021 are allowed for the Hokkien Clan (Pai Ti Kong).
Third Chinese New Year SOP : More Questions!
This is the third MCO SOP for Chinese New Year 2021, and may not be the last.
For some reason, the government neglected Chap Goh Meh – the last day of Chinese New Year, which is also a significant date.
If they want to ban Chap Goh Meh celebrations, please state so, and say it clearly.
But even more critically, they did not clarify whether the inter-district or interstate travel restrictions include the Klang Valley.
After all, many areas in the Klang Valley are in close proximity, even if they cross district and state lines.
For example, Damansara Perdana and Mutiara Damansara (which are in Selangor) are right next to TTDI (in Kuala Lumpur), separated only by the LDP highway. Will crossing the state and district lines between these adjoining areas be allowed?
Finally, there’s no mention of whether more than two people are allowed to travel in the same car for the reunion dinner, which 15 people can now attend.
So we expect the government to “further clarify” their Chinese New Year SOP going forward…

When the Malaysia National Security Council (MKN) announced the Chinese New Year SOP for 2021, it was roundly mocked by netizens for its absurd rules.
For example, it told family members of the same household to visit each other! This meme shows just how absurd the suggestion was.
Malaysia “Corrects” SOP For Chinese New Year!
Just one day later, MKN issued a new, “corrected” SOP for Chinese New Year!
The SOP now applies for the three days – 11, 12 and 19* February 2021.
The family is now asked to celebrate at home, instead of visiting each other in the same house.
The family reunion dinner is only allowed for family members residing in the same house.
The arbitrary limit of 20 people in the same house, was removed.
The ridiculous requirement to physically distance in the household was removed.
The absurd prohibition for family members to greet or touch each other was removed.
No one is allowed to go to temples and houses of worship.
Lion / dragon dance is forbidden.
Tanglung and Chingay parades are forbidden.
Chinese opera and stage shows are forbidden.
Pre-celebration sales are only allowed in selected premises. Online purchase is encouraged.
* 19th February is when Pai Ti Kong (Bai Tian Gong) is celebrated by the Hokkien people.
This strict stay-at-home Chinese New Year SOP will mean that all Chinese families will have to celebrate by themselves, without an actual reunion dinner.
The government should really KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) by banning gatherings and visitations for all 16 days of Chinese New Year – from the eve to Chap Goh Meh.
By only highlighting those 3 days, it opens up the possibility of people misinterpreting the SOP to mean that it’s okay to have reunion dinners or visitations on the other days of Chinese New Year.
Please stay safe, everyone, so that we can celebrate Chinese New Year with our family and friends next year!

The Malaysia National Security Council just announced the MCO SOP for Chinese New Year, and it lacks common sense, or an understanding of Chinese culture.
Take a look at their Chinese New Year SOP, and see for yourself why it really doesn’t make much sense…
Chinese New Year : SOP For MCO Areas
Here is the SOP that was just released for the celebration of Chinese New Year in MCO areas – basically all of Malaysia, except Sarawak.
The SOP applies for the first two days of Chinese New Year – 12 and 13 February 2021
Not more than 20 people are allowed in the house, with physical distancing
The family reunion dinner is only allowed for family members residing in the same house.
Visitation is only allowed for family members residing in the same house.
No one is allowed to greet or touch each other.
No one is allowed to go to temples and houses of worship.
Now, let us share with you why the Chinese New Year SOP lacks common sense, or an understanding of Chinese culture.
Reason #1 : Chinese New Year Lasts 15 Days
Chinese New Year actually lasts 15 days, ending with the Lantern Festival. But in reality, it lasts 16 days, because it actually kicks off on the eve.
But the point is that if the SOP only covers the first two days, then it cannot apply to the Tanglung (Lantern) Festival, which takes place on the last day (15th day) of Chinese New Year!
Neither would the SOP apply to the Chingay Parade, which happens on the 21st day of the Lunar New Year in Johor Bahru, 12 December 2021 in Penang island and 19 December 2021 in Prai, Penang.
Reason #2 : Family Reunion Dinner Is On CNY Eve!
The family reunion dinner happens not on the first or second day of Chinese New Year, but on its eve – the night before!
Technically, Malaysians will not be flouting the SOP if they gather on the eve (11 February 2021) for their family reunion dinner.
Also, it is only a reunion dinner if extended family members attend. Otherwise, it’s just a regular family dinner.

Reason #3 : Chinese New Year Eve Is A Cultural Event
Chinese New Year is a cultural event, not a religious event. It is celebrated by Chinese people of ALL religions, or none at all.
There is no requirement to attend church, visit a temple, or go to a mosque, on Chinese New Year.
So the SOP on religious gatherings or visits is really irrelevant, and shows their lack of understanding.
Reason #4 : Visitation In The Same Home Is Nonsensical
It is nonsensical to tell people living in the same house to visit each other. This probably only happens in Among Us.
Reason #5 : Capacity Limit In The Same House Is Nonsensical
It is also nonsensical to put an arbitrary limit of 20 people, when the SOP insists that they must all be living in the same house!
If they are all living in the same house, why does it matter if there are 5, 20, or 100 people?
Anyone sick with COVID-19 would have infected other members of the family, long before Chinese New Year!
Reason #6 : No Greeting Or Touching Family Members Is Nonsensical
It is nonsensical to insist that family members cannot greet or touch each other, when they are all LIVING IN THE SAME HOUSE!
How is that going to help prevent COVID-19 spread within the same house???
Does the government also expect husband and wife to sleep separately during the first two days of Chinese New Year?
Reason #7 : Physical Distancing In The Same House Is Nonsensical
This should have been obvious to our government officials – physical distancing in the same house is as asinine as physical distancing in a car.
Those living in the same house have already been in close contact for more than a year. How does it help to separate everyone by 1-2 metres for just two days during Chinese New Year?

A video claiming that OLDTOWN White Coffee used pork in their curry mee has gone viral, leading to an official investigation by the authorities!
Find out what happened, and what the FACTS really are!
Viral Video : Pork In OLDTOWN Curry Mee?
In the video that went viral on Facebook and WhatsApp, a man accused OLDTOWN White Coffee of using pork in their curry mee.
He pokes at the red-coloured meat, and insists that they put in 5-6 slices of pork.
For our foreign readers who may not understand, pork is haram (forbidden) for Muslims.
KPDNHEP Investigates Claims Of Pork In OLDTOWN Curry Mee
The accusation is so serious in Malaysia, that the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) launched an investigation.
Five KPDNHEP Selangor officers inspected the OLDTOWN White Coffee restaurant in Subang Jaya on 13 November 2020, and took samples of the alleged pork used in their curry mee.
Note that this officer is holding a packet of BBQ Chicken, and pointing at its halal stamp.
The Truth : There Is NO Pork In OLDTOWN Curry Mee!
Here is the short verdict on the viral video. It’s a FALSE ACCUSATION, and there is NO PORK in OLDTOWN White Coffee’s curry mee.
This is yet another viral video that has been proven to be FALSE, and here are the reasons why…
Reason #1 : JAKIM + KPDNHEP Confirmed The Claim As FALSE
After investigating the claim, both JAKIM and KPDNHEP confirmed that the claim in the video is false.
The meat used was chicken, not pork, as alleged by the man in the video.
JAKIM also warned the public not to make baseless accusations, while OLDTOWN is consulting their lawyers to determine if they should take action against those who made the false accusation.
Reason #2 : Char Siu Is Not Always Pork
It is likely that the man in the video mistook the red-coloured meat as char siu – barbecued pork.
However, char siu versions of other meats like chicken, beef and venison are available for Muslims, and those who prefer not to eat pork.
After all, the char siu seasoning is made from honey, five-spice powder, red fermented bean curd, dark soy sauce, hoisin sauce and red food colouring, and can be applied to most meats.
In fact, OLDTOWN White Coffee uses chicken char siu in their curry mee, which is clearly visible in their product shot :
Reason #3 : OLDTOWN White Coffee Is Halal-Certified
OLDTOWN White Coffee is a chain of halal-certified restaurants. That means they have to abide by these rules :
Equipment used shall be free from najs, does not contain any hazardous materials and results in side effects to the products produced;
Appliances / brushes from animal hair are not allowed;
The arrangement of equipments and goods in the factory shall be neat, tidy and safe;
Workers are not allowed to live in the premise compound. If it is necessary, living quarters for the workers shall be:
a. having separate entrance to the premise compound;
b. no direct passage way from the worker’s living quarters to the premise compound; and
c. there is a control mechanism on the movement in and out of workers.
Non-halal food/ beverages are not allowed to be brought into the premise compound;
The premise shall have an effective control system from premises that process/ prepare non-halal materials;
All central kitchens and outlets for chain restaurants/ franchise/ food court shall apply for halal certification; and
Liquor and materials sourced from liquor is strictly prohibited to be in the halal kitchen and hotel including the storage area.
While it is not necessary for Muslims to eat only from halal-certified restaurants, a valid Halal certificate means they undergo periodic inspections to ensure they follow the rules.
Reason #4 : Chicken Is Much CHEAPER Than Pork
One of our reader, Johari Jeffrey, points out that chicken is much cheaper than pork.
So it wouldn’t make sense for any business to substitute chicken for a more expensive meat like pork.
