Paul Pelosi : Real vs. Fake Arrest Mugshot Compared!

People have been sharing a mugshot of Paul Pelosi – US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband – who was arrested for DUI.

Take a look at the viral photo and find out what his real mugshot really looks like!

Claim : This Is The Paul Pelosi Arrest Mugshot

For many American conservatives, the story of Paul Pelosi getting arrested for DUI has not gotten enough media attention. So they have resorted to claiming that he was also arrested for possessing child porn and drugs, or that Nancy Pelosi was with the real culprit, and Paul was covering for her.

More recently, they shared a photo, claiming that it was of Paul Pelosi, with a blackened eye.

Paul Pelosi’s mug shot. Looks like he got a shinner…. #PaulPelosi #PaulPelosiMugShot #MugShots #NancyPelosi

Paul Pelosi’s mug shot. Don’t stop passing this around before it is banned…

The police refused to release it but his mugshot got leaked.

Paul Pelosi : Real vs. Fake Arrest Mugshot Compared!

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS that American conservatives are creating to smear politicians across the aisle.

Fact #1 : That Mugshot Was Photo Edited

The Paul Pelosi mugshot that went viral was digitally altered from a photo taken at the Pre-Grammy Gala, taken by Kevork Djansezian on February 14, 2016.

Here is a comparison of the crop of that Pre-Grammy Gala photo (on the left), and the edited photo on the right.

You can see that many parts of the face are similar – ears, nose, mouth, left eye, both eyebrows, and even the wrinkles on his face.

The person who altered the photo made him look heavier, added hair from a different person, as well as a blackened right eye.

Fact #2 : His Real Mugshot Was Released

Perhaps as a response to the fake mugshot being shared online, Paul Pelosi’s real mugshot was released by the Napa County Department of corrections, with this statement :

Napa County Department of Corrections Releases Paul Pelosi Mugshot

(NAPA, California) — On the night of May 28, 2022, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrested Paul Pelosi (DOB 4/15/40) for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving with a .08% Blood Alcohol Content or Higher. He was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections and subsequently cite released the following morning.

In Napa County, the decision to release or withhold mugshots or booking photos lies with the Napa County Department of Corrections, not the District Attorney’s Office. In the days after Mr. Pelosi’s arrest, Napa County followed the Department of Corrections’ policy regarding the release of booking photos and mugshots. Mr. Pelosi received the same treatment under that policy that all individuals released from County Jail receive.

No state law specifically requires the release of booking photos or mugshots, but policies regarding this topic can vary by jurisdiction. Napa County updated its policy to reflect current best practices and align with the policies of similar jurisdictions. As such, Napa County is now making available to the media and the public the booking photo of Mr. Pelosi taken at approximately 4:30 a.m. on May 29, 2022, at Napa County Department of Corrections.

This comparison shows you his real mugshot (on the left), and the fake mugshot (on the right).

As you can see, Paul Pelosi did not suffer any facial injuries from his crash.

Fact #3 : Paul Pelosi Was Arrested For DUI

Paul Pelosi was driving home from a dinner party at around 10:15 PM on Saturday night, when he attempted to cross a State Route 29 intersection at Walnut Lane in the Napa County.

His 2021 Porsche was hit by a 48 year-old Jeep driver, Jesus Lopez. Fortunately, neither men were hurt seriously, although both cars were written off in the crash.

After the accident, Paul was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.08%, and arrested on “suspicion of DUI”.

Fact #4 : He Faces Two Misdemeanour Charges

Paul Pelosi’s bail was set at $5,000 for two counts of misdemeanour :

  • driving under the influence
  • driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher

He is scheduled to appear in court on August 3, 2022; although Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley said that she has not decided whether to bring charges.

This is standard protocol for any DUI case that is referred by a law enforcement agency in Napa County.

No decision has been made at this time. Any speculation to the contrary is incorrect.

When a filing decision is made by the Napa County District Attorney, the media and public will be notified.

Fact #5 : A Young Lady Was Not Involved

The claims that Paul Pelosi was with a (very) young lady are also false.

This was confirmed by the accident report, which only shows two drivers involved. There were no passengers in both cars.

Fact #6 : Nancy Pelosi Was Not Involved

To be clear, there were only two people involved in the accident – Paul Pelosi and Jesus Lopez.

Claim that US Speaker Nancy Pelosi was the real driver, but her husband covered for her are false. This was confirmed by her spokesperson, who stated :

The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast.

She could not be with her husband as she was in the East Coast to deliver a commencement address to the 2022 graduates and receive an honorary doctorate degree at Brown University in Rhode Island, on Monday, 30 May 2022.

Was Paul Pelosi Arrested For Child Porn + Cocaine?!

Was Paul Pelosi – US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband – just arrested for child porn and crack cocaine?!

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Updated @ 2022-06-10 : Added Napa County DA’s announcement on charges.

Claim : Paul Pelosi Was Arrested For Child Porn + Cocaine!

Within hours of the news breaking that US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, was arrested in California, Vancouver Times posted a story that claimed he was found to also be in possession of child porn and crack cocaine!

They later updated their story to also claim that Nancy Pelosi would also face charges, and that she was tied to international sex trafficking rings.

Paul Pelosi is in serious trouble and could face many years in prison.

Paul Pelosi, the 82-year-old husband of U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, was re-arrested this weekend for possession of child pornography and crack cocaine. The MSM reported on the first arrest, but not the second arrest.

Sources indicate Pelosi paid off the prosecutor’s office to keep the second arrest “off-the-books.”

Paul Pelosi was first arrested late Saturday in Napa County north of San Francisco, according to a sheriff’s office online booking report.

He was caught driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher, the report said.

Pelosi was originally released on bail, but was re-arrested after police found child pornography on his phone, as well as crack cocaine and pipes in his car. The child porn and drugs were not found during the initial search.

California Highway Patrol Officer and the FBI stated the investigation is ongoing and both Pelosi and his wife Nancy could be facing more charges. There has long been speculation the Pelosi’s are tied to international sex trafficking rings.

Pelosi’s arrest was first reported by TMZ.

Truth : Paul Pelosi Was Not Arrested For Child Porn Or Cocaine…

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS created to generate page views and money from gullible people.

Fact #1 : Vancouver Times Is A Fake News Website

Vancouver Times is a “content aggregator” (copy and paste) website that is known for creating fake news to generate more page views and money.

To look legitimate, they copy and paste news from legitimate news organisations. To drive traffic, they create fake news, sometimes masked as “satire”.

To give themselves a veneer of deniability, they label themselves as a “satire website” in their About Us section.

Vancouver Times is the most trusted source for satire on the West Coast. We write satirical stories about issues that affect conservatives.

We are not affiliated with the mainstream media (CBC, CTV etc.) in any way, and any similarities between our content and the work of the MSM is purely coincidental.

Fact #2 : They Relabel Fake Stories As Satire

The Satire section in Vancouver Times appears to be a place where their fake stories go to “die”.

It looks like their SOP is to post fake stories as genuine news, to trick people and go viral. They will then shift their fake stories to the Satire section after getting fact checked.

They first posted this fake story about Paul Pelosi under their America section, only moving it to their Satire section after I fact checked it.

Here are some of the fake news that they created recently, that we debunked :

Fact #3 : Paul Pelosi Was Arrested For DUI

Paul Pelosi was driving home from a dinner party at around 10:15 PM on Saturday night, when his 2021 Porsche was hit by a 48 year-old Jeep driver on Walnut Lane in the Napa County while he was trying to cross a State Route 29 intersection.

After the accident, Paul was arrested on “suspicion of DUI”.  He was not arrested for possession of child porn or crack cocaine.

Vancouver Times created that fake claim that the police found child pornography and crack cocaine to drive traffic to their website.

Fact #4 : He Was Granted Bail Within Hours

Paul Pelosi was granted bail within hours, which would not be possible if he was really found to possess child pornography and crack cocaine, as Vancouver Times falsely claimed.

According to Napa County records, this was what happened :

  • 11:44 PM, May 28 : Paul Pelosi was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
  • 4:13 AM, May 29 : Paul Pelosi was booked into jail
  • 7:26 AM, May 29 : Paul Pelosi was released at 7:26 on bail

Fact #5 : He Faces Two Misdemeanour Charges

Paul Pelosi’s bail was set at $5,000 for two counts of misdemeanour :

  • driving under the influence
  • driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher

As the police booking record shows, there was NO MENTION of child porn or crack cocaine – the possession of which are felonies, not misdemeanours.

Vancouver Times made up those claims, to drive traffic to their fake news article.

Fact #6 : Nancy Pelosi Was Not Involved

US Speaker Nancy Pelosi was not with her husband during the incident, it is nonsensical for Vancouver Times to claim that she could be facing charges herself.

Fact #7 : Nancy Pelosi Was Not Tied To Sex Trafficking Rings

Nancy Pelosi was never tied to sex trafficking rings.

That is part of QAnon conspiracy theories about Democrat sex trafficking rings that have been repeatedly debunked.

Fact #8 : Napa County DA Reviewing DUI Charges

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley announced that the Napa County DA’s Office was reviewing the DUI charges.

Haley also said that Paul Pelosi agreed to a court date for early August, although no decision has been made at this time (to charge him for DUI).

If it’s not obvious by now, Paul Pelosi was never arrested and will not be charged for possession of child porn or crack cocaine.

Higher RON Octane Rating Myth Debunked!

People have debated over RON octane ratings and how they affect the performance and fuel efficiency of our cars for decades.

According to the age-old claim, a higher RON octane rating delivers better performance and fuel efficiency.

When challenged to prove that claim, supporters of the higher RON octane rating fuel will point to the fact that high-performance cars use them to achieve better performance.

Are they correct? Let’s find out…

RON / MON Octane Rating : A Quick Primer!

RON is short for Research Octane Number. It is a ROUGH indicator of the maximum compression ratio at which the fuel can burn without spontaneously detonating.

You don’t want your fuel detonating because that damages the engine, while greatly reducing performance and fuel efficiency.

RON is actually just one of TWO octane ratings used to measure the fuel’s ability to withstand spontaneous detonation in the engine. The other one is MON (Motor Octane Number).

The RON rating is based on a low engine load, while the MON rating is based on a high engine load. A fuel’s MON rating can be up to 10 points lower than the RON rating.

Octane Ratings In Asia, Europe And US

In Asia and Europe, the number you see at the petrol stations are RON numbers. In the United States, they use the average of the RON and MON numbers using the formula of (R+M)/2.

In other words, fuel with a RON of 95 and a MON of 85 will be listed as RON 95 in Asia and Europe, but 90 octane in the United States.

This doesn’t mean that the fuel in America is of a lower RON rating or performance. They are the SAME FUEL. It’s just how the SAME octane numbers are reported.

Asia and Europe only use the RON rating, while the Americans use the average between the RON and MON ratings.

RON Energy Density

Petrol (or gasoline to Americans) have an energy density (or specific energy content) of about 42.4 MJ/kg. That is how much energy is in the fuel, not how much it delivers.

70-75% of that energy is lost as heat generated during the engine combustion, leaving only 20-30% of that energy to actually move your car.

The energy density does NOT change with the RON or MON octane rating. RON 97 fuel has the SAME energy density as RON 92 fuel.

Energy Density Varies Slightly With Fuel Blend

The energy density, however, can be higher or lower by up to 4%, depending on the fuel blend used by the refinery, and regulations set by the country.

In some countries, the blend changes with the season, yielding slightly better or poorer performance and fuel efficiency with a corresponding increase or reduction in pump prices.

This has nothing to do with the RON or MON octane rating of the fuel, just its blend. You can have a denser fuel blend with a low octane rating, and a lighter fuel blend with a high octane rating.

Higher RON Rating = Better Performance?

If you drive a sports car, it will likely use a high-compression engine. The high compression delivers more power and better fuel efficiency by stuffing more air into the combustion chamber.

However, such high-compression engines require higher octane fuels. Not because they have more power, but because such fuels will not spontaneously detonate from the high compression pressure.

In such sports cars, you will usually find two RON numbers – a minimum octane rating, and an optimal or recommended octane rating. The Audi RS4 Avant, for example, requires a minimum of RON 95 but works best with the RON 98 fuel.

RON ratings for Audi RS4 Avant | Photo credit : GeoffDunk

For maximum power and fuel efficiency, Audi RS4 drivers should use the RON 98 fuel. Using the RON 95 fuel will result in a slight reduction in power and fuel efficiency at high engine loads.

This is NOT because the lower octane fuel is less powerful, but because the RS4 engine will change its timings slightly to prevent the lower octane fuel from spontaneously detonating at high engine load.

The Audi RS4 can actually use even lower RON fuels – as low as RON 91. However, this will result in reduced performance and the car should be driven gently.

Remember that the RON number is based on low engine loads. At higher engine loads, you will need a higher RON rating to avoid engine knocking.

Not all sports cars require high octane fuels though. This is a popular misconception.

Take the Nissan 370Z, for example. It only requires RON 95 fuel to perform optimally and can run on RON 91 fuel in an emergency. Again, when using RON 91, it should be driven gently to avoid engine knocking.

Most other cars, however, will only list a single octane rating, which is both the octane rating they are tuned for and the minimum octane rating you should use.

You can use higher octane fuels, but you will not derive any performance benefit because the engine is not capable of higher compression ratios that would take advantage of the higher octane.

Unless your car manufacturer specifically tells you to use a higher octane rating, you are just wasting your money buying a higher octane fuel. It will not make your car go any faster.

Heavier Fuel Blend = Better Performance

Now you hit the nail on the head! Higher octane will not give you more power, but a denser fuel blend will.

This is because a heavier fuel blend has a higher energy density – that means every combustion cycle yields more energy.

Fuels with higher octane ratings may use a denser fuel blend, although this is not necessarily the case. It all boils to marketing, because the fuel blend only changes up to 4% either way.

That’s a maximum variance of 8%. Generally, the variance is much smaller. Take a look at these BP fuel energy density figures, courtesy of Car Bibles :

Fuel GradeEnergy DensityDifference
BP Regular32.53 MJ/LBaseline
BP Premium33.08 MJ/L+ 1.7%
BP Ultimate33.28 MJ/L+ 2.3%

Even the most expensive BP fuel has a mere 2.3% boost in energy density over its cheapest regular fuel. Even that has limited effect because remember, 70-75% of the energy is lost as heat.

So what you would probably get from using BP Ultimate is a 0.7% boost in power (30% of the 2.3% higher energy density).

A heavier fuel blend, therefore, is mainly a marketing gimmick. By using a heavier blend, companies get to honestly tout better performance for their higher octane fuels, which have much higher profit margins.

You will undoubtedly enjoy better performance, just not as much as you think you are getting.

Higher RON / MON Rating = Better Fuel Efficiency?

The short answer is – NO. As we pointed out before, the RON / MON octane rating of a fuel is not an indication of how much energy is in it (energy density), or how efficiently it will burn in the engine.

The RON / MON octane rating only indicates how resistant the fuel is to spontaneous detonation when it’s being compressed in the engine’s combustion chamber.

That said, we must point out that the use of fuels with the proper RON / MON octane rating is critical in preventing your car from suffering from poor performance and fuel efficiency.

If you use a lower RON octane rating than is recommended by the car manufacturer, engine knocking may occur. The modern engine will detect that and retard the ignition timings to prevent or reduce the amount of engine knocking. Take a look at this excerpt from a Porsche manual.

However, retarding the ignition timing reduces power and fuel efficiency. How much you lose in power and fuel efficiency depends on how much knocking occurs and how much the timing changes to compensate.

Generally, the greater the discrepancy in RON octane rating and the harder you work the engine, the more you lose in power and fuel efficiency.

In other words, there is no benefit in using a higher octane fuel, but it pays to keep to the car manufacturer’s recommended octane rating.

Higher RON Octane Rating For Higher Altitudes

A fuel’s RON octane rating is affected by atmospheric pressure. It actually drops by 1 for every 600 m or 2,000 ft in elevation.

Many people ignore this because they don’t live in high altitude communities, but this can make a real difference in performance and fuel efficiency for those who do.

La Paz in Bolivia, for example, is 3,640 m (11,942 ft) above sea level. If your car uses RON 95 fuel and you pump it full of RON 95 fuel at sea level, your car’s power and fuel efficiency will drop as you near La Paz.

That RON 95 fuel you pumped at sea level would only have an octane rating of RON 89 in La Paz.

By the time you reach La Paz, your car would really be running on RON 89 fuel, and the engine would be retarding its ignition timing to compensate for the lower atmospheric pressure.

Higher RON Octane Rating Myth : A Summary

Before you decide if you really need a fuel with a certain RON octane rating, please take out that nicely-printed manual that came with your car and open it up. Look for the page that talks about its fuel recommendation and READ IT.

Note what it says about the car’s minimum and recommended RON octane rating. If only one octane rating is mentioned, consider that as both the minimum and recommended rating for your car.

  • You will achieve maximum performance and fuel efficiency if you use fuels that meet the recommended RON octane rating for your car.
  • Using fuels with higher RON octane ratings won’t harm your car, but it won’t give you any additional benefits either.
  • Using fuels with RON octane ratings that are between the minimum and recommended ratings for your car will give you optimal performance and fuel efficiency at low to normal loads, but will not achieve the engine’s full potential in performance and fuel efficiency at high loads.
  • Using fuels with RON octane ratings that are lower than the minimum rating for your car will reduce power and fuel efficiency.
  • Altitude matters, so make sure you use fuels with higher RON / MON octane ratings at higher elevations.

We hope this article will finally put to rest the myth that a higher RON / MON octane rating means better performance and fuel efficiency.

If you like this article, please feel free to share it out. If you disagree, feel free to comment! Thank you!

Porsche Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter Revealed!

Porsche and Lucasfilm just unveiled the Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter that will be showcased in the premiere of Star Wars : The Rise of Skywalker in Los Angeles!

Take a look at the Porsche Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter, and how Porsche and Lucasfilm came to create it!

Porsche Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter : A Design Partnership

The Porsche Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter is a design DNA blend of Porsche and Lucasfilm.

Over a period of two months, the Porsche Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter project team worked at their respective design studios in Weissach and San Francisco to create initial ideas and drafts, before finally coming up with a concrete concept.

The final design, named Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter, will be presented as a detailed model measuring 1.5 metres (5 feet) in length at the film premiere of Star Wars : The Rise of Skywalker in Los Angeles.

“The design of the spaceship is harmoniously integrated into the Star Wars film world while at the same time demonstrating clear analogies with the characteristic Porsche styling and proportions,” says Michael Mauer, Vice President Style Porsche at Porsche AG.

“The basic shape of the cabin, which tapers towards the rear, and a highly distinctive topography from the cockpit flyline to the turbines establish visual parallels with the iconic design of the 911 and the Taycan. The very compact layout conveys dynamism and agility, lending emphasis to the Porsche design features mentioned.”

“This collaboration is an amazing opportunity to merge the design aesthetics of Porsche and Star Wars. I found it to be creatively challenging and extremely inspiring,” says Doug Chiang, Vice President and Executive Creative Director for Lucasfilm. “It is thrilling to infuse Star Wars with Porsche styling to create an iconic new spaceship that could exist both on Earth or in the cinematic universe.”

While legal requirements impose certain restrictions on creativity in the classic design process for a series-production vehicle, this project opens up a whole new dimension of freedom.

At the same time, the Style Porsche team faced fresh challenges, since creating a purely virtual design is demanding, too. On the screen, the starship is only seen in two dimensions, while classic series-production vehicles appear physically in three dimensions.

In addition, starships usually only appear dynamically in the film and are only visible for a brief moment – so the design has to create an impression and be recognisable within a matter of seconds.

Porsche Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter : The Final Design

A glance at the details reveals a number of features familiar from the Porsche design style.

The front is reminiscent of the so-called “air curtains” (air inlets) that go together with the headlights to create a single formal entity in the Taycan. In addition to the four-point daytime running light typical of Porsche, the so-called “blasters” – long gun barrels at the front – are located at the tip.

The rear grid with the louvres and integrated third brake light was inspired by the current 911 generation, and the rear section of the starship bears the brand’s hallmark light bar.

Porsche design criteria have been applied to the interior, too: the instruments in the cockpit are clearly aligned with the driver’s axis, while the low seating position is reminiscent of the sporty ergonomics in the Porsche 918 Spyder.

All in all, the design follows a basic principle that is characteristic of the brand – all the elements on the exterior have a clear function, and purely visual features have largely been dispensed with.

“Our collaborative project with Star Wars goes perfectly with the launch of the Taycan. The design teams have brought the differing worlds of Porsche and Star Wars together to make a very special gift for the fans of the two brands,” says Kjell Gruner, Head of Marketing at Porsche.

Porsche will also be showcasing the all-new Taycan at the premiere event in Los Angeles.
