Cyberpunk 2077 : Updated PC Specifications For RTX Gaming

NVIDIA just released updated PC specifications for RTX gaming on Cyberpunk 2077!

Check out these updated requirements to make sure you are ready to turn RTX on when Cyberpunk 2077 launches!

Cyberpunk 2077 : Updated PC Specifications For RTX Gaming

NVIDIA today revealed their updated system configurations for RTX gameplay.

CPU

  • 1080p : Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G
  • 1440p or 4K : Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600

Graphics Card

Graphics Memory

  • 1080p : 6 GB
  • 1440p : 8 GB
  • 4K : 10 GB

System Memory + Storage

  • All resolutions : 16 GB RAM + 70 GB SSD

This is what NVIDIA says about RTX gaming on Cyberpunk 2077 :

The minimum GPU for Ray Tracing, at 1920×1080, is the GeForce RTX 2060. Gamers will explore Night City with Medium Ray Tracing Preset powered by DLSS.

At 2560×1440, we recommend a GeForce RTX 3070 or GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Ray tracing is taken to Ultra, which greatly increases the fidelity of the aforementioned effects, and the distance at which they are visible, while DLSS provides boosted frame rates with uncompromised image quality.

And with rasterized settings also being cranked to Ultra, GeForce RTX 3070 and 2080 Ti gamers receive an incredible experience at the highest detail levels, unmatched by any other platform.

And finally, if you’re playing at 4K or beyond, the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 deliver the performance to play Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing at Ultra at this incredibly demanding resolution.

Both GPUs are powered by Ampere — NVIDIA’s 2nd gen RTX architecture — with dedicated RT Cores for ray tracing, and Tensor Cores for DLSS AI acceleration, delivering an unrivaled cinematic-quality experience.

Cyberpunk 2077 : Updated PC Specifications With RTX Off

What if you don’t feel the need to turn on ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077?

Here are the recommended system specifications to game on Cyberpunk 2077 with RTX off :

CPU

  • 1080p : Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G

How To Setup NVIDIA NULL For G-SYNC Monitors Correctly!

NVIDIA NULL (NVIDIA Ultra Low Latency) Mode now supports G-SYNC monitors. However, you need to set it up right to actually enjoy the benefits.

In this guide, we will share with you the benefits of turning on NVIDIA NULL, and how to set it up properly for G-SYNC monitors!

NULL : NVIDIA Ultra Low Latency

NVIDIA introduced NULL (NVIDIA Ultra Low Latency) Mode in the Gamescom Game Ready Driver in August 2019.

Before introducing NULL, NVIDIA let gamers reduce the number of frames in the render queue – allowing new frames to be sent to the GPU sooner, reducing latency and improving responsiveness.

NVIDIA NULL introduces just in time frame scheduling, submitting frames to be rendered just before the GPU needs them. This further reduces latency by up to 33%.

NVIDIA NULL mode has the most impact when the game is GPU-limited, with frame rates between 60 and 100 fps. It will let you enjoy better response times at high frame rates, without reducing graphics quality.

NVIDIA NULL + G-SYNC Support

From NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 441.08 onwards, NVIDIA NULL will support G-SYNC for a better tear-free, extra-responsive variable refresh rate gaming experience.

This chart shows how end-to-end system latency is reduced by up to 20% when VSYNC is turned on, with both NVIDIA NULL and G-SYNC enabled.

Lowering the end-to-end system latency by 20% means a 20% faster reaction time from when you click the button on your mouse, to when the action appears on the display.

However, you cannot just turn on NVIDIA NULL for it to work with your G-SYNC or G-SYNC compatible gaming monitor.

Recommended : Learn How To Add ReShade Filters To GeForce Experience!

How To Setup NVIDIA NULL For G-SYNC Monitors Correctly

Here is the proper method to setup NVIDIA NULL correctly for G-SYNC monitors :

  1. Download and install GeForce Game Ready 441.08 driver or newer.
  2. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel, and click on Manage 3D settings.
  3. Scroll down the Global Settings tab to Low Latency Mode.
  4. When you click on the options, you will have three choices :
Off : The game’s engine will automatically queue 1-3 frames for maximum render throughput
On : Limits the number of queued frames to 1
Ultra : Submits the frame just in time for the GPU to start rendering
  5. Select the Ultra option for NVIDIA NULL

  1. Scroll down to Vertical Sync and select On.

  1. Navigate to Set up G-SYNC on the left navigation list of the NVIDIA Control Panel.

  1. Enable G-SYNC for both windowed and full screen mode.
Note : If your monitor supports both G-SYNC and ULMB, make sure G-SYNC is selected under the Monitor Technology drop-down list in Manage 3D settings.
  2. In your games, you must disable V-SYNC. This will allow the NVIDIA Control Panel to correctly enable NULL for your G-SYNC monitor.

That’s it! Now you can enjoy ultra low latency response times with a tear-free gaming experience on your G-SYNC monitor!

NVIDIA Image Sharpening Guide for DirectX, Vulkan, OpenGL!

NVIDIA Game Ready drivers now support Image Sharpening for Vulkan and OpenGL, as well as DirectX games. However, you will need to manually turned it on, and set it up.

In this guide, we will share with you the benefits of turning on NVIDIA Image Sharpening, and how to turn it on for your DirectX, Vulkan and OpenGL games!

NVIDIA Image Sharpening For DirectX, Vulkan + OpenGL

NVIDIA first introduced Image Sharpening as a NVIDIA Freestyle filter. They then built it into the NVIDIA Control Panel, enabling it for all DirectX 9, 10, 11 and 12 games in the Game Ready 441.08 driver onwards.

Starting with Game Ready 441.41, they officially added NVIDIA Image Sharpening support for Vulkan and OpenGL games too.

Image sharpness can be adjusted on a per-game basis, or applied globally for all supported titles, with per-game settings overriding global settings.

In addition, you can use your NVIDIA GPU to render at a lower resolution for improved performance, and scale it to the monitor’s native resolution, using Image Sharpening to improved the clarity of the upscaled images.

However, this is a global setting, and cannot be disabled or enabled on a per-game basis.

Note that if you are using a GeForce RTX or GeForce GTX 16-series graphics card, they will leverage the Turing GPU’s 5-tap scaling technology for better image quality.

  5. Select the On option, and you will have two further options.
Sharpen (0 to 1.0) : This controls the amount of image sharpening
Ignore film grain (0 to 1.0) : This reduces any film grain that is generated by image sharpening
  6. Click OK and you are done!

Note that the per-app setting will override the global settings.

NVIDIA Image Sharpening : Current Limitations

As of 26 November 2019, NVIDIA Image Sharpening has the following limitations :

  • Scaling is not supported on MSHybrid systems.
  • HDR displays driven by pre-Turing GPUs will not support scaling
  • Scaling will not work with VR
  • Scaling will not work with displays using YUV420 format.
  • Scaling uses aspect ration scaling and will not use integer scaling
  • Sharpening will not work with HDR displays
  • GPU scaling engages when games are played only in full-screen mode, and not in windowed or borderless windowed mode.
  • Some G-SYNC displays have a 6-tap / 64-phase scaler which scales better than that offered by Turing’s 5-tap/32-phase scaler.
  • To avoid accidentally triggering scaling by applications or DWM, first change to the desired (non-native) resolution from the NVIDIA Control Panel and then launch the application.
  • Turing’s 5-tap upscaler may not engage on certain monitors, based on the monitor’s vblank timing.
  • Turing’s 5-tap upscaler may not engage if the input resolution is greater than 2560 pixels in either the x or y dimension.
  • Scaling is turned off automatically when switching display devices.
  • “Restore Defaults” option in the control panel currently does not revert the upscaling resolution.

2nd Gen NVIDIA Max-Q Technology : What’s New?

The 100+ new NVIDIA GeForce laptops that are coming soon will feature new 2nd Gen Max-Q technology, that promises to DOUBLE efficiency over previous designs!

Find out what new Max-Q technologies NVIDIA are introducing in those new laptops!

NVIDIA Max-Q Technology : What Is It?

NVIDIA Max-Q Technology was first introduced at Computex 2017, and based on the NASA term, which refers to “the point at which aerodynamic stress on a vehicle in atmospheric flight is maximized“.

NVIDIA Max-Q uses a similar philosophy to design gaming laptops that are 3X thinner, with up to 3X more performance (compared to the previous-generation NVIDIA Maxwell GPUs).

So what exactly is the NVIDIA Max-Q design, and how does it work? Gaurav Agarwal, NVIDIA Product Marketing Manager, explains it all in this tech briefing.

2nd Gen NVIDIA Max-Q Technology : What’s New?

When NVIDIA announced 100 new laptop designs, including GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER and GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER gaming laptops, they also revealed details of the 2nd Gen Max-Q technology.

They basically added a bunch of new Max-Q technologies, which they promise will double efficiency over previous designs :

These are the new Max-Q technologies that will be included in all new 2020 GeForce RTX SUPER, GeForce RTX and GeForce GTX gaming laptops :

Dynamic Boost

Dynamic Boost Intelligently and automatically balances power between the GPU and CPU on a per-frame basis, boosting overall in-game performance.

Dynamic Boost is automatic, adaptive and always working to deliver more performance without increasing system power consumption.

Low-Voltage GDDR6

While not a technology unique to NVIDIA, NVIDIA say that they worked with their memory partners to increase memory efficiency, while delivering high performance with new lower voltage GDDR6 memory.

Advanced Optimus

Advanced Optimus controls which GPU is driving the display and intelligently determines the right GPU for the right workload at the right time, dynamically switching on the fly without needing a system reboot.

NVIDIA claims it will deliver long battery life and immersive, stutter-free gameplay with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology.

Next-Generation Regulator Efficiency

The 2nd Gen Max-Q designs will feature next-generation voltage regulators that will help optimise system design, so that the GPU will run more efficiently while delivering higher overall performance.

Deep Learning Super Sampling 2.0

Powered by the Tensor Cores in RTX GPUs, DLSS 2.0 is an improved deep learning neural network that boosts frame rates while generating beautiful, sharp images for games.

NVIDIA claims it will boost a game’s performance headroom while maximizing ray-tracing settings with increased output resolution and extending battery life by up to 20 percent.

2nd Gen NVIDIA Max-Q : Double Efficiency = Double Performance?

When NVIDIA says NVIDIA Max-Q will double efficiency, it is based on two caveats.

  • They are referring specifically to GRAPHICS performance.
  • On top of that, the additional efficiency is partly based on DLSS 2.0.

In the ideal scenario where you use a 2nd Gen Max-Q laptop with a game that supports DLSS 2.0, you should see almost a doubling of gaming performance.

Real world performance advantage from the 2nd Gen Max-Q technology will certainly be far, far less than that.

After all, how many games do you know support DLSS? And it will take time for DLSS 2.0 to be introduced.

That said, even a 25%-33% boost in efficiency would offer a nice upgrade over the last generation.

  1. Red Dead Redemption 2 crashes with this error message :

Red Dead Redemption 2 exited unexpectedly

  1. Stuttering or freezing during game play due to CPU maxing out
  2. Sudden drop in frame rate (fps) during game play

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Solution Guide

Solution #1 : Update Your Graphics Card Driver

As we pointed out in an article we posted earlier, make sure you update your graphics driver :

  • AMD : Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 19.11.1 or newer
  • NVIDIA : GeForce Game Ready Driver 441.12 or newer

Recommended : Red Dead Redemption 2 : Use These AMD + NVIDIA Drivers!

Solution #2 : Disable Antivirus or Add To Whitelist / Exemption List

Antivirus software are apparently causing RDR2 to crash, especially during the intro / shotgun scene.

Either disable your antivirus software temporarily (not really advisable), or add Red Dead Redemption 2 to its whitelist or exemption list.

Solution #3 : Update The Rockstar Games Launcher

Rockstar just issued a v1.09.164 update to fix the many issues this buggy launcher was causing :

  • Close any running Rockstar game
  • Close the Rockstar Games Launcher
  • Restart the Rockstar Games Launcher, and let it update to v1.09.164 or newer

Solution #4 : Logging Out And Back Into Rockstar Games Launcher

The Activation Required error can apparently be solved by simply logging out of the Rockstar Games Launcher, and logging back in again.

Solution #5 : Clear The Rockstar Games Launch Profile Cache

But in certain situations, if logging out and back in again fails, you will need to clear your local profile cache :

  • In Rockstar Games Launcher, go to Settings > Account Information
  • Select Delete Local Profile (This will only delete the local cache. It will not delete your Social Club account or saved games)
  • Select Confirm
  • Sign into the Rockstar Games Launcher again

Solution #6 : Reduce Number Of CPU Cores

Red Dead Redemption 2 is apparently hogging the CPU, causing stuttering or freezing. A temporary workaround has been suggested – reduce the number of CPU cores it can use :

  • Right click on RDR2.exe in Windows Explorer
  • In the drop-down list, select Set Affinity
  • You will a list of available CPU cores. Uncheck one or two cores.

Solution #7 : Switch To DirectX 12

Generally, Vulkan will offer significantly better performance than DirectX 12. Where possible, you should enable Vulkan, instead of DirectX 12.

However, if you notice sudden drops in frame rate, try switching from Vulkan to DirectX 12. This will likely get fixed in a future graphics card driver.

Solution #8 : Lower The Graphics Settings

Rockstar appears to be overly optimistic about the system requirements of RDR2. NVIDIA ran their own benchmarks, and recommended these cards for 60 fps gaming instead :

So, if you are getting low frame rates, reduce the graphics settings. In particular, volumetric graphics and water quality settings.

The GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super (1-Click OC)

GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER cards are only be available from NVIDIA board partners as custom cards, without a Founders Edition reference design.

One of the first examples is the GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super (1-Click OC), and we managed to get our grubby hands on an early sample!

The GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super hews quite close to the reference specifications, with one exception.

It has a 15 MHz higher boost clock out-of-the-box, with a further 15 MHz enabled by its 1-Click OC feature. This gives it a maximum boost clock of 1815 MHz.

Here is a table comparing the GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super, with the reference GTX 1660 SUPER, the GTX 1660 Ti and the regular GTX 1660.

GALAX GTX 1660 Super : Display Ports

The GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super offers three display ports. From left to right, they are :

  • DisplayPort 1.4
  • HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.2 support
  • DVI-D

Technically, this allows it to display out to a maximum of three monitors, but it might not be practical in real life.

It is, in particular, difficult to do so for three similar monitors, because they would have to support three different ports!

Incidentally, the cooling vents above the display ports are purely decorative. Not only are the heatsink fins aligned in parallel, the cooler shroud actually blocks hot air from exiting through these vents.

GALAX GTX 1660 Super : RGB Heatpipe Cooler

The GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super is kept cool by an aluminium heatsink, with four copper heat pipes.

The finish of the aluminium heatsink isn’t that awesome, but at least it has heat pipes to transfer heat from the GPU to the entire heatsink.

The heatsink is kept cool by two 90 mm fans, that not only has fan stop capability, but also comes with programmable RGB lighting!

Hot air from this cooler exhausts upwards and downwards. This is a shame, because it means the hot air recirculates within the PC case, instead of exhausting out the back.

GALAX GTX 1660 Super : Thermal Output

Note that these are not the recorded temperatures, but how much hotter the exhaust air is above ambient temperature.

The GALAX GTX 1660 Super with a 125 watt TDP has roughly the same peak exhaust temperature as the GeForce RTX 2060 with a much higher 175 watt TDP.

GALAX GTX 1660 Super : Noise Level

How noisy is the GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super? Check it out for yourself in this video!

Despite its rough finish, the aluminium heat pipe cooler does a great job of keeping the NVIDIA TU116 GPU cool, without the fans. In fact, the fans did not start spinning until about a minute into the Time Spy Extreme benchmark!

If you are not gaming and just doing work or watching YouTube or a movie, it will be completely silent. Even when you are running a strenuous game, the fans are quiet. That said, we did hear some rattling from the fans in our sample…

GALAX GTX 1660 Super : PCIe Power + Interface

The GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super has a TDP of 125 watts, and requires an 8-pin PCIe power cable.

It uses the good old PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface, which gives it the same PCIe bandwidth as the PCI Express 4.0 x8 interface used by the competing AMD Radeon RX 5500.

GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super : Performance Summary

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER is nothing more than the regular GTX 1660 with faster GDDR6 memory. This gives it the same GPU performance, but with 75% higher memory bandwidth.

This addresses a key deficit of the regular GTX 1660 cards, enough to give it a 10% to 25% boost in 1080p gaming performance according to NVIDIA.

The GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super (1-Click OC) is a slightly-overclocked variant of the GTX 1660 SUPER, with just a 30 MHz increase in the boost clock speed.

In our tests, it did pretty well, matching or even beating the GeForce GTX 1070 in many games :

  • Time Spy : 3% faster at 1080p, 2.4% faster at 4K
  • The Division 2 : 3% faster at 1080p, 5% faster at 4K
  • Strange Brigade : 6.5% faster at 1080p, 14% faster at 4K
  • Metro Exodus : 6.5% slower at 1080p, 5.5% slower at 4K
  • AOTS : 14% slower at 1080p, 1.9% slower at 4K

There’s something odd with the AOTS results, so we will be retesting the cards with the newer 441.08 driver that was released just after the launch.

But generally, the GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super card offers real good value for the money. For just $229, you are getting a card that’s basically equal in performance to the GeForce GTX 1070.

This is pretty impressive, because the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 has a 34% higher texture fill rate and 31% higher pixel fill rate on paper. What the GTX 1070 was short on was memory bandwidth, just 256 GB/s – 24% lower than the GTX 1660 SUPER.

GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super : Our Verdict

Its aluminium heatsink isn’t all that nicely-finished, but it does the job well enough, thanks to the four copper heat pipes and dual 90mm fans.

The fans only spin up when the GPU gets hot, which means it’s virtually silent until you start gaming. They are pretty quiet, but we noticed some rattling.

Now, it is factory-overclocked with a 15 MHz higher boost clock. But it’s called a 1-Click OC model because you actually need to use the 1-Click OC button in the GALAX Xtreme Tuner utility to increase the boost clock by another 15 MHz.

Interestingly, their latest Xtreme Tuner utility has not been updated to support this card, so the 1-Click OC option is greyed out. However, you can manually overclock the card… so you have to wonder – why bother with the 1-Click OC option?

A 30 MHz increase in the boost clock is nothing special. They should have just set the boost clock to 1815 MHz right out-of-the-box, and save everyone the hassle.

Our quibbles aside, the GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super is a decent card. More importantly, it’s cheaper than many of its competitors.

So yes, the GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 Super is definitely a card to consider, if you are looking for an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER card.

From what NVIDIA has revealed, we believe the GTX 1660S will replace the GTX 1660.

The GTX 1650S, on the other hand, will slide in above the existing GTX 1650 as the GTX 1650 Ti that some suggested would be released this month.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER : The Full Details!

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER is here, offering a nice boost in graphics memory performance.

Find out if this is enough to really call it a SUPER edition of the GeForce GTX 1660!

The Official NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER Tech Briefing

A few months after launching the RTX SUPER family of graphics cards, NVIDIA has finally unleashed the GTX SUPER series!

GeForce Product Manager Justin Walker briefed us on the GTX 1660 SUPER, as well as the GTX 1650 SUPER, in an exclusive pre-launch briefing, which we prepared for you here, including a short Q&A session :

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER is basically the regular GTX 1660 with a GDDR6 memory upgrade.

NVIDIA basically swapped out 8 Gbps GDDR5 memory for 14 Gbps GDDR6 memory, increasing its memory bandwidth from 192 GB/s to 336 GB/s.

All other performance characteristics remained unchanged – it has the same base and boost clocks, delivering the same texture and pixel fill rates.

Here is how it compares against the existing Turing-based GTX cards, and the GTX 1650 SUPER :

Learn How To Add ReShade Filters To GeForce Experience!

With the introduction of the GeForce GTX SUPER graphics cards, NVIDIA also announced the GeForce Experience will now officially support ReShade filters!

Here is our guide on how to leverage this new feature to easily add and apply ReShade filters using GeForce Experience!

What Is ReShade?

ReShade is a post-processing graphics tool that allows you to tweak the colour and lighting of your games on-the-fly. It offers you an automated and generic way to change how your games look.

You can add advanced SMAA anti-aliasing, screen space ambient occlusion, depth-of-field effects, dynamic film grain, automatic saturation and colour correction, etc.

ReShade basically transforms the game’s look and feel, using a wide variety of filters.

GeForce Experience Now Supports ReShade

NVIDIA is now adding official ReShade support to GeForce Experience. This makes it much easier for NVIDIA users to use ReShade filters in their games.

Typically, ReShade has to be “injected” and installed for each game. But now, you can use GeForce Experience to add your favourite ReShade filters once, and apply them to over 650 games!

ReShade Restrictions In GeForce Experience

To avoid the misuse of ReShade filters by game cheats, NVIDIA is restricting certain ReShade filters in competitive games :

  • Freestyle : The original 14 filters included in the Game Ready Driver are supported for all games. The officially supported ReShade filters are available on non-competitive games, but only a subset are available on competitive games. Custom ReShade filters are available on non-competitive games, but not available on competitive games.

  • Ansel : With developer integrated Ansel titles in which the game is paused, users are able to use all ReShade filters. For non-developer integrated Ansel titles, we offer support for over 30 filters.

The NVIDIA ReShade Filter Collection

To help get you started, NVIDIA is providing a collection of curated ReShade filters, which includes two new filters they created with ReShade filter author Pascal Gilcher :

  • Posterize : Adds a pop-art effect, and reduces the image to 4 colours
  • Retro Neon : Uses the game’s depth to create a cool sci-fi effect

How To Add ReShade Filters To GeForce Experience

Here is a step-by-step guide to add your favourite ReShade filters to GeForce Experience :

  1. Download and install Game Ready Driver 441.07 or greater
  2. Open GeForce Experience, go to Settings, and check “Enable experimental features“.
  3. You can now download and install GeForce Experience 3.20.1.57 or greater
  4. Copy the ReShade filters you want to Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Ansel.
If you installed the DCH driver, then you will need to create this folder yourself, before copying the files
  5. Activate the Ansel (Alt-F2) or Freestyle (Alt-F3) overlay in your game.
  6. You can now apply the ReShade filters from the down-drop Filters menu and tune to your liking.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER : The Full Details!

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER graphics card won’t be available for a few more weeks. But it offers a massive boost over the current GeForce GTX 1650 non-SUPER card.

Here is EVERYTHING you need to know about the turbocharged GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER!

The Official NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER Tech Briefing

A few months after launching the RTX SUPER family of graphics cards, NVIDIA has finally unleashed the GTX SUPER series!

GeForce Product Manager Justin Walker briefed us on the GTX 1650 SUPER, as well as the GTX 1660 SUPER, in an exclusive pre-launch briefing, which we prepared for you here, including a short Q&A session :

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER is not just an overclocked version of the GeForce GTX 1650. Instead, it uses the larger and faster NVIDIA TU116-300 GPU which powers the GTX 1660.

In addition to gaining 16 more CUDA cores, the GTX 1650 SUPER will have higher clock speeds and 50% faster GDDR6 memory!

Here is how it compares against the existing Turing-based GTX cards, and the GTX 1660 SUPER :

From what we have seen, we believe the GTX 1650 SUPER will not replace the existing GTX 1650. Instead, it will act as the GTX 1650 Ti that some suggested would be released this month.

How Fast Is The GTX 1650 SUPER?

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER is targeted at 1080p esports gaming.

Here is a quick and dirty performance comparison provided by NVIDIA, showing the GTX 1650 SUPER delivering up to 2X better than the GTX 1050.

NVIDIA GTX 1650 SUPER Price + Availability

The GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER will only be available from 22 November 2019 onwards. Its starting price will be revealed in November.

Like the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, it will only be available from NVIDIA board partners. There will be NO Founders Edition for either cards.

Greatly Increased TDP

As mentioned before, the GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER is more than just an overclocked GTX 1650. Using the larger TU116 GPU running at higher clock speeds, it uses 25 watts more power, with a 100 watt TDP.

NVIDIA Ray Tracing Techniques – Showcase + Explanation!

NVIDIA just briefed us on their ray tracing methods, with four animations to better demonstrate them. Join us for a primer on how these ray tracing techniques can greatly enhance your gaming experience!

NVIDIA @ GDC 2019 – Real-Time Ray Tracing, DXR + More!

Ever since NVIDIA introduced real-time ray tracing with their GeForce RTX graphics cards, they have working hard to promote real-time ray tracing.

Just last month, they announced these exciting ray tracing news at GDC 2019 :

  • Unreal Engine and Unity will support real-time ray tracing features!
  • GeForce GTX graphics cards will support real-time ray tracing!
  • They introduced GameWorks RTX – a comprehensive set of tools and rendering techniques to help game developers add real-time ray tracing to their games.
  • New games that showcase real-time ray tracing, like Dragonhound and Quake II RTX

NVIDIA Ray Tracing Techniques Explained!

First, we have Tony Tamasi (Vice President of NVIDIA Technical Marketing) explaining the ray tracing methods that NVIDIA uses.

They also shared four animations with us, which we used to create this ray tracing showcase :

GeForce GTX Now Supports Ray Tracing!

At GDC 2019, NVIDIA announced that they would be adding ray tracing support to Pascal-based GeForce GTX graphics cards.

Today, that promise has been realised with the introduction of a new NVIDIA Game Ready Driver!

This new driver allows GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or higher GPUs to execute ray-tracing instructions on traditional shader cores, albeit at lower RT quality settings and resolutions.

They also announced that these GeForce GPUs are now DXR-capable :
