People are sharing a video clip from a Dr. Phil interview, in which Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr) claimed or suggested that the NIH is getting kickbacks worth billions of dollars from the Moderna mRNA vaccine!

Truth : RFK Jr. Did Not Expose NIH Kickbacks From Moderna Vaccine!

This is yet another example of fake news created or promoted by anti-vaccine activists, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : NIH Is Not Getting Kickbacks From Moderna

Let me start by pointing out that the NIH isn’t getting kickbacks from the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Unsurprisingly, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. never provided any actual evidence to back up his claims.

The truth is – the NIH is merely asserting its intellectual property rights to licence technologies used in the creation of the Moderna mRNA vaccine for COVID-19. This is no different from how commercial companies licence out their technologies for other companies to use in their own products.

As Axios pointed out way back in June 2020, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) often invents basic scientific technologies that it licences out to pharmaceutical companies. As the NIH Director then, Dr. Francis Collins said in May 2020, “We do have some particular stake in the intellectual property” behind the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

Moderna ultimately licensed two technologies developed at the NIH for use in its mRNA vaccine for COVID-19. By the end of 2021, seven other pharmaceutical companies (including BioNTech) also paid royalties for using the same techniques in their COVID-19 vaccines.

This isn’t a kickback / bribery. It is basic common sense to licence NIH technologies to commercial companies, instead of letting them use them for free! What exactly is wrong with that?

Does RFK Jr. prefer that the NIH let Moderna use those technologies for free??? Why should Moderna not pay NIH for the work done by its researchers???

Fact #2 : US Government + Taxpayers Benefit From Moderna Vaccine!

It is ludicrous to claim or suggest that the NIH is receiving kickbacks from Moderna, because those patents that NIH licences out belong to the US government. The NIH also explained this in its statement three years ago:

NIAID scientists created stabilized coronavirus spike proteins for the development of vaccines against coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2. Recognizing the importance of these novel immunogens, NIAID has sought patents to preserve the government’s rights to these inventions and to provide incentive for commercial partners to invest the capital and resources needed to advance their development, commercialization, and public use as vaccines.

NIAID has adopted a non-exclusive licensing approach for these patent rights in order to allow multiple vaccine developers to utilize these immunogens in their proprietary vaccine platforms. The mRNA vaccine candidate resulting from NIAID’s collaboration with Moderna, embodied in the material transferred to UNC, is an example of this approach: the stabilized spike protein developed by NIAID investigators is expressed from Moderna’s proprietary mRNA vaccine platform. Responsibility for obtaining regulatory approval of the mRNA vaccine candidate, a product produced and formulated by Moderna, rests with Moderna.

Federal employees listed as inventors on these patent applications assigned their rights to the US government. Accordingly, should the USPTO and other national patent authorities grant the patents, the US government will hold ownership interest in the patents.

The US government owns those patents, and not the individual inventors working at the NIH. After all, the research was funded by the US federal government. Ultimately, the US government and taxpayers benefit from the licensing of NIH technologies to Moderna.

Fact #3 : NIH Inventors Benefit From Their Hard Work

This isn’t the first time Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed that top NIH officials are being paid $150,000 a year for life for the Moderna mRNA vaccine against COVID-19. Back in March 2021, RFK Jr. made similar claims in a NewsGuard interview.

The Moderna vaccine—his agency owns half, but six of the top guys who work for him own pieces of that patent, so they will each get $150,000 a year for life for every patent that they own.

However, he never provided any evidence – then or now, that Dr. Anthony Fauci, or any top NIH official, are actually receiving $150,000 per year from the Moderna mRNA vaccine patents.

The truth is – the $150,000 per year figure is the official limit on royalty that any scientist may receive from all inventions while working at the NIH. As NIAID spokesperson Jennifer Routh explained in February 2021:

[In NIH licensing agreements,] the first $2,000 of royalties received under a license go to the inventor, and then at least 15 percent thereafter per year are shared with the inventors as a group under that license. Inventors are capped at $150,000 per year per person from all licenses. Very few NIH inventors receive that amount.”

In other words – even if an NIH scientist invents ten groundbreaking drug that makes BILLIONS each for the NIH, he/she is only entitled to $150,000 per year for all ten drugs.

While it is plausible that the six NIH scientists listed in the two patents used by Moderna and other pharmaceutical companies may receive $150,000 per year, there is still no evidence that they actually received that much.

But to be clear – the only people getting this royalty money are the scientists whose names are listed in the patent applications, and simply “top NIH officials”.

Fact #5 : Patent Protection Only Lasts 20 Years

In the video, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed that NIH officials would receive $150,000 per year forever – not only during their lifetime but also their children’s.

That is rather absurd as patent protection generally lasts only 20 years in the United States. There won’t be a need to licence for any pharmaceutical companies to licence those two patents from the NIAID / NIH for future mRNA vaccines after patent protection expires 20 years later.

In other words – those inventors in NIH can only expect to receive royalty payments for a maximum of 20 years, not forever…

Truth : Dr. Fauci + NIH Officials Do Not Make $150 Yearly From mRNA Vaccine!

This is yet another example of fake news created or promoted by anti-vaccine activists, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : FDA Does Not Get Payments For Vaccine Approval

Let me start by pointing out that the US FDA does not get payments for approving vaccines.

In the video, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appears to repeat what his running mate, Nicole Shanahan recently suggested – that the FDA is approving “poorly-tested” vaccines because it’s partly funded by pharmaceutical companies.

That’s simply not true. As I explained in my earlier article, the US Congress passed the Prescription Drug User Fee Act in 1992, which requires pharmaceutical companies to pay the US FDA for the time and cost of reviewing the drugs and vaccines for regulatory approval.

The user fee that the FDA charges has no effect on its review process, as those standards are “written into law” and the FDA has to follow those standards, “regardless of the source of funding”.

As long as the FDA meets the review timeline goals, it receives the user fee even if it denies approval for the new drug / vaccine / medical device. So the user fee has no bearing on its approval process.

Fact #2 : FDA Is Different From NIH

In the video, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appears to confuse the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), with the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).

When Dr. Phil asked him to confirm his claim that the FDA has been “bought off by Big Pharma”, RFK Jr. appears to have confused the FDA (which is a regulatory agency) with the NIH, which is responsible for biomedical and public health research.

Dr. Phil : The government regulators have been bought off by Big Pharma. I think that’s what you’re saying when you say that this entanglement has occurred. You said agency employees are actually getting royalties, getting payments on vaccines and drugs that they approve. Is that true?

RFK Jr : Yes, there’s a couple of things happening. With FDA, about 50% of the FDA’s budget comes from regulated industries, mainly the pharmaceutical industries. Mainly, you have agency capture on steroids. The principle objective of the FDA today is to serve the market interest of pharmaceutical companies.

For example, the Moderna vaccine. NIH owns half of that vaccine – 50%, so the billions of dollars that the vaccine makes, half of that goes to NIH, the agency. But there is [sic] also individuals, at least four and maybe six, individuals who work for NIH, who are high-level deputies under Anthony Fauci, who get to collect $150,000 a year forever, not just for their lives, but their children’s. So long as that mRNA technology is on the market, they are going to be making money from. That is a conflict.

To be clear – the FDA regulates food, drugs, and medical devices, but it does not receive royalties as it does not conduct research. On the other hand, the NIH conducts research and receives royalties for the technologies it develops, but it does not review or approve new drugs or vaccines.

If Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cannot differentiate between the FDA and the NIH, how much stock should we put into his wild claims???

Fact #3 : NIH Owns Patents Licensed By Moderna

Moderna licensed two technologies developed at the NIH for use in its mRNA vaccine for COVID-19. Those patents are owned by the US government, and not the individual inventors working at the NIH.

Moderna reported in its financial reports that it paid a “catch-up royalty payment of $400 million to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases“, which is one of the NIH’s 27 institutes and centres, but this payment is also split between NIH, Dartmouth College, and the Scripps Research Institute.

By the end of 2021, seven other pharmaceutical companies (including BioNTech) also paid those same three institutions for using the same techniques in their COVID-19 vaccines.

Moderna also revealed in its financial report, that it would also pay the NIAID “low single-digit royalties on future net sales, a minimum annual royalty payment, and certain contingent development, regulatory and commercial milestone payments“.

Fact #4 : Anthony Fauci Is Not Named In mRNA-Related Patents

Six NIAID scientists are listed as inventors on those two patent applications licensed by Moderna for its mRNA vaccine. They would profit financially from the Moderna mRNA vaccine, as the Federal Technology Act of 1986 requires government agencies that licence inventions to share some of the royalty money with those inventors.

However, Dr. Anthony Fauci is not one of those six NIAID scientists named on the two patent applications. Dr. Anthony Fauci holds six patents, but none are related to mRNA, and all six patents predate the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, claims or suggestions that Dr. Anthony Fauci financially benefitted from the two NIH patents used in the Moderna mRNA vaccine appear to be completely untrue.

Truth : FDA + Plaintiffs Settled, Ivermectin Still Not Approved For COVID-19

Let’s take a closer look at the claims, and find out what the facts really are!

Fact #1 : Both Sides Agreed To Settle Lawsuit

Let me start by pointing out that neither side in this lawsuit actually lost the case, as both sides agreed on a settlement. That was stated in the Stipulation Of Dismissal (PDF), which was filed on 21 March 2024.

Fact #2 : Case Was Dismissed With Prejudice

The plaintiffs, Robert L. Apter, Mary Talley Bowden, and Paul E. Marik, agreed to dismiss “with prejudice” all claims in the case. That means they agreed to dismiss the claims forever.

This means that the settlement is final, and not subject to further action; and the plaintiffs are prohibited from bringing any other lawsuit based on the claim, absent a successful appeal to a higher court.

Fact #3 : FDA Agreed To Remove Some Posts

While some people are claiming or suggesting that the FDA agreed to all posts on the use of ivermectin against COVID-19, that’s not really accurate. The FDA only agreed to do the following within 21 days:

retire an old 2021 article called Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19, and delete and not republish all social media posts that link to the article; but the FDA retains the right to post a revised version,
delete and not republish its old Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook posts from 21 August 2021, that read “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it“,
delete and not republish its old Instagram post from 21 August 2021, that read “You are not a horse. Stop it with the #ivermectin. It’s not authorized for treating #COVID“, and
delete and not republish its old Twitter post from 26 April 2022, which read, “Hold your horses, y’all. Ivermectin may be trending, but it still isn’t authorized or approved to treat COVID-19.“

Another article called Frequently Asked Questions was already retired by the FDA, and played no part in this settlement.

In short, the FDA agreed to remove an old article and some old social media posts about not using ivermectin to treat COVID-19. That said, all removed materials will be archived, as required by federal law.

Fact #4 : Case Was Settled Without Admission Of Wrongdoing

According to Reuters, the three plaintiffs filed their lawsuit in 2022, stating that their reputations were harmed by the FDA campaign. Bowden lost admitting privileges at a Texas hospital, while Marik alleged he lost his positions at a medical school, and a hospital, for promoting the use of ivermectin against COVID-19.

But interestingly, this lawsuit appears to be settled without the FDA admitting to any wrongdoing, misconduct, or liability.

Neither this Stipulation of Dismissal nor the actions described herein shall constitute an admission or evidence of any issue of fact or law, wrongdoing, misconduct, or liability on the part of any party in this litigation.

In other words, the plaintiffs appear to have settled for the removal of an old article, and some old social media posts, without any change in FDA’s stance on ivermectin, or its use against COVID-19.

Overall, it seems to be a rather expensive way to remove an old article, and some old social media posts…

Fact #5 : Ivermectin Still Not Approved For Use Against COVID-19

It is important to point out that the FDA still has not approved or authorised the use of ivermectin in preventing or treating COVID-19. The FDA also pointed out that it has not stated that ivermectin is safe or effective for use against COVID-19.

Although FDA has approved ivermectin for certain uses in humans and animals, it has not authorized or approved ivermectin for use in preventing or treating COVID-19, nor has the agency stated that it is safe or effective for that use.

In addition, the NIH continues to strongly (AIIa) recommend against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19.

On 25 January 2024, Real Raw News posted an article (archive) claiming that US Marines just hanged NIH Deputy Director Alfred Johnson for conducting biological warfare experiments on homeless people!

As usual, the article is long, rambling and confusing, so here is an excerpt. Please feel free to skip to the next section for the facts!

NIH Honcho Alfred Johnson Hanged After Getting Pranked Whitmer-Style by Marines

Former NIH Deputy Director Alfred Johnson was hanged Wednesday at Camp Blaz, but only after Marine escorts closely mimicked a prank GITMO MPs had pulled on Gretchen Whitmer in June—misleading her into believing that Adm. Crandall found exculpatory evidence clearing her of all charges and ordered her immediate release.

At 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, the Marines retrieved a forlorn Johnson from his cell and told him pResident Biden and NIH Director Monica M. Bertagnolli had orchestrated his return to the continental United States. They told Johnson about being part of a more extensive exfiltration operation with a skiff at the docks, ready to launch. Moreover, the Marines said Biden had arranged for a Navy destroyer to ferry Johnson home. The skiff, they said, would carry him to the destroyer.

The Marines told Johnson that time was of the essence, for the ‘real Marines’ would arrive soon to hustle him to the gallows.

Johnson couldn’t see that a half dozen other Marines had flanked either side of the cell corridor and were struggling to hold their laughter as their brothers steered him outside toward an idling Hummer.

“Hey, Johnson, is it true what they say? You did biological warfare experiments on people? Not like it makes a difference to us.”

“The homeless aren’t people,” Johnson said. “Man, that’s cold-blooded. We’re almost there,” the driver said.

The Hummer stopped. The Marines removed Johnson’s blindfold. The stygian gallows loomed before him, and he seemed benumbed.

The execution continued as scheduled. Johnson refused Last Rites. His final words—“You’ll pay for this”—barely escaped his lips as the floor fell from under him.

A Guam source told Real Raw News that the pranksters would likely receive little more than a formal reprimand and 60 days of latrine duty for exercising puerile behavior.

“We don’t condone it. It’s unbecoming of a Marine and undisciplined. But they’re human too; they get wound up, lapses in judgment. I guess they figured whatever punishment came their way would be a small price to pay for pranking a truly horrible individual. Unofficially speaking, he was going to hang anyway, so what’s the harm?”

The truth is – this is just another FAKE STORY created by Real Raw News, just to generate page views and money.

Fact #1 : Real Raw News Is A Fake News Website

Real Raw News is a fake news website that capitalises on making shocking but fake stories to generate page views and money.

To protect himself from legal repercussions, the owner and writer, Michael Baxter (real name – Michael Tuffin), claims that his articles are “humour, parody, and satire“.

That disclaimer, which is not clearly mentioned in his articles, lets him keep creating fake news to go viral, and generate money.

Fact #2 : Dr. Alfred Johnson Was Not Arrested / Hanged

This is really silly, but it has to be said – Dr. Alfred Johnson, the current NIH Deputy Director for Management, was never arrested, and he was certainly not hanged by US Marines.

If he was really arrested, it would have been reported by the mainstream media in the United States, if not globally, as he is a Deputy Director of a major US government organisation.

Yet, no legitimate media outlet reported such a shocking story? That’s because it never happened. It was all made up.

Fact #3 : Camp Blaz Is Not Used As Prison

It is funny that Real Raw News should claim that any civilian is being held at Camp Blaz. Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz is a new facility on the island of Guam, that was activated on 1 October 2020, and only officially opened on 25 January 2023.

Camp Blaz does not function as a prison of any kind. It is used to house Marines that were relocated from USMC facilities in Okinawa, Japan.

Fact #4 : US Marines Cannot Arrest / Hang Civilians

It is also silly for anyone to claim that US Marines were sent to escort a civilian prisoner out of Camp Blaz. US Marines do not have jurisdiction or the power to detain any civilian.

In fact, US Marines are not even empowered to arrest or detain other military personnel! In the US Marine Corps, any arrest would have been made by US Navy Master-at-Arms and/or the Naval Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS), not the marines themselves.

US Marines certainly have no right or power to hang any civilian. In fact, such an act would be considered murder under Article 118 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ)

If any US Marine committed such a crime, he/she would be court-martialled under Article 118 of the UCMJ, and face a death sentence or imprisonment for life. The punishment of “a formal reprimand and 60 days of latrine duty” in the Real Raw News article is, in fact, too lenient even for the writer of such bullshit.

Claim : US NCBI Confirmed Lianhua Qingwen Treats COVID-19!

This claim was initiated by the OneNews Philippines website, through their article US Health Agency Says Traditional Chinese Medicine Can Help COVID-19 Patients Recover Faster.

It has since been shared by Chinese medicine and natural health advocates, as well as antivaxxers on social media.

It’s pretty long, so please skip to the next section for the FACTS…

The US National Center for Biotechnology Information said “overall,” treatment with the Chinese herbal medicine Lianhua Qingwen for 14 days resulted in a “significantly higher rate of, and a shorter time to, symptom recovery.”

The United States’ National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCIB) stated in a May 16 study that the traditional Chinese medicine Lianhua Qingwen (also Lianhuaqingwen) “could be considered to ameliorate clinical symptoms” of coronavirus disease 2019.

According to the NCIB, which is part of the United States National Library of Medicine, a branch of the National Institutes of Health, 284 COVID-19 patients were randomized to receive the usual treatment alone or in combination with Lianhua Qingwen, with four capsules taken three times a day for 14 days.

“The primary endpoint was the rate of symptom (fever, fatigue, coughing) recovery,” NCIB said.

It reported that “overall,” the 14-day treatment using the Chinese herbal medication for 142 patients “resulted in a significantly higher rate of, and a shorter time to, symptom recovery than the control group” of 142 patients who received the usual treatment without Lianhua Qingwen.

“The rate of recovery of fever, fatigue and coughing was also higher in treatment group,” the study read. “(Lianhua Qingwen) capsule had a favorable safety profile for the treatment of (COVID-19).”

“To our knowledge, this is the first multicenter randomized clinical trial that demonstrates the safety and efficacy” of Lianhua Qingwen capsules, the NCIB said.

Truth : US NCBI Did NOT Say Lianhua Qingwen Treats COVID-19!

This FAKE NEWS is based on a piece of shoddy journalism by OneNews Philippines, which is apparently the online platform for The Philippine STAR.

Unfortunately, it’s being used by Chinese medicine and natural health advocates, as well as antivaxxers, to push Lianhua Qingwen as a legitimate alternative to vaccination. It’s not, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : National Center for Biotechnology Information = NCBI

The correct acronym for the US National Center for Biotechnology Information is NCBI.

OneNews Philippines kept using the wrong acronym, NCIB, in their article. That’s how shoddy they were.

Fact #2 : NCBI Maintains Databases Of Biomedical Literature

National Center for Biotechnology Information is a branch of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), whose purpose is to maintain databases of biomedical literature.

They do NOT conduct clinical studies, or peer-review them. Think of them as librarians, not scientists.

OneNews Philippines is wrong to claim that the NCBI conducted a study of the Chinese herbal medicine, Lianhua Qingwen.

Fact #3 : It Was A Chinese Study

The study that OneNews Philippines quoted was actually a small Chinese study by Ke Hu et. al.

Registered under the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (no. CTR-TRC-20000029434), this study was conducted between 2-15 February 2020 in 23 hospitals across 9 Chinese provinces.

It had NOTHING to do with the US National Center for Biotechnology Information.

Fact #4 : Lianhua Qingwen Had Modest Effect On Symptoms

The study did not show that Lianhua Qingwen was capable of treating COVID-19, only that it had a modest effect on symptom recovery.

time to recover from fever : 2 days, instead of 3 days
time to recover from fatigue : 3 days, instead of 6 days
time to recover from coughing : 7 days, instead of 10 days

There was NO DIFFERENCE in the viral load, or the risk of developing severe COVID-19.

It was also a small RCT study with just 284 patients, divided into two groups of 142 patients.

Fact #5 : NCBI Did Not Endorse Lianhua Qingwen

Just to be clear, the US National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) did not say that Lianhua Qingwen “could be considered to ameliorate clinical symptoms” of COVID-19.

Neither did they endorse the use of Lianghua Qingwen in the treatment of COVID-19, not even for faster symptom recovery.

Fact #6 : Lianhua Qingwen Not Approved By US FDA

Some of those who shared this fake news also claimed that the US FDA approved Lianhua Qingwen. That’s categorically false.

Fact #4 : Lianhua Qingwen NOT Proven To Cure COVID-19

Despite being approved as a treatment for mild to moderate COVID-19 cases in China, there is currently no evidence that Lianhua Qingwen can cure COVID-19.

That’s hardly surprising because Lianhua Qingwen is merely a mix of herbs :

(Heartleaf Houttuynia) Aerial Part – 27.41 mg, Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. (Cablin Patchouli) Aerial Part – 9.40mg, Ephedra sinica Stapf (Ephedra) Herbaceous Stem – 9.14mg, Prunus sibirica L. (Bitter Apricot) Ripe Seeds – 9.14 mg, Rhodiola crenulata (Hook. f. et Thomson) H.Ohba (Bigflower Rhodiola) Root and Rhizome – 9.14mg, Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. (Liquorice) Root and Rhizome – 9.14mg, 1-Menthol – 7.50mg, Rheum palmatum L. (Rhubarb) Root and Rhizome – 5.47mg.

None of its ingredients have been proven to cure COVID-19, although poor quality studies have demonstrated that it is effective in reducing fever.

And yes, Forsythia was the fake herbal cure promoted by Jude Law’s character – Alan Krumwiede in the medical thriller – Contagion.

Here is what you need to know…

Why Malaysia Will Get Hit By An Omicron Surge

The Omicron variant is so highly transmissible that it has out-competed and replaced the Delta variant in many countries.

As of 14 January 2022, Malaysia has confirmed 253 cases of the Omicron variant, with 17 local cases and 236 imported cases.

While it is still under control here in Malaysia, it seems inevitable that we will get hit by an Omicron surge as well.

According to the Malaysia National Institutes of Health (NIH), the SEIR (Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Removed) model showed that :

If R0 reaches 1.2, Malaysia can expect 10,000 new cases per day
If R0 reaches 1.6, Malaysia can expect 30,000 new cases per day

As of 26 January 2022, Malaysia has an R0 of 1.09, and that is expected to increase.

While the Omicron variant is less life-threatening than the Delta variant, such large numbers of cases can overwhelm the healthcare system in Malaysia.

Malaysia’s Plan To Fight Omicron Surge Revealed!

On 26 January 2022, the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) unveiled their plans to combat the expected Omicron surge.

Use district hospitals as hybrid hospitals to treat Category 1 and Category 2 patients that require hospitalisation.
Only Category 4 and Category 5 patients will be referred to specialist hospitals and state hospitals.
COVID-19 patients who are stable and can be monitored at home are advised to remain at home, and be assessed by the COVID-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) until the end of their isolation period.
Recommend the use of antivirals at the CAC and PKRC (COVID-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centres).
Encourage Malaysian residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose, and continue complying with the SOP and the new normal.
All states are encouraged to discuss and obtain assistance from their respective State Disaster Committee for logistics and other issues.

These measures should reduce the impact of an Omicron surge, and prevent our healthcare system from being overwhelmed.

This viral message claims to expose their dastardly links to many of the world’s most evil people – Dr. Anthony Fauci, George Soros and of course, Bill Gates!

50 Cent Army “Accidentally” Wrote Fake Story On GSK Making COVID-19?

This looks suspiciously like another attempt by China’s 50 Cent Army to divert attention from the possibility that the COVID-19 pandemic was a result of a lab leak.

Needless to say, this is completely FAKE NEWS, with a plot so convoluted that people won’t bother checking, and will just accept as true.

The truth is – EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE is a lie! It is as if the writer was paid by the lie… Interesting!

Here are the FACTS! Share them out, so we don’t become the “useful idiots” they think we are!

Fact #1 : GSK Is A Pharmaceutical Company

GSK is a pharmaceutical company. They conduct research into, and manufacture, drugs and vaccines.

There is no reason for them to operate, much less own, a Biosafety Level 4 (BSL-4) laboratory like the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Almost all BSL-4 facilities are operated by governments or universities, because of the high costs and strict regulations.

The two private BSL-4 labs that we know of are operated by the Merial Animal Health in Pirbright, England and the Texas Biomedical Research Institute in Texas, USA.

Fact #2 : GSK Does Not Own Wuhan Institute of Virology

Most research institutes with BSL-4 laboratories are government-owned and -operated.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) is no different. It is owned and administered by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), which reports to the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

That is why you can see the acronym CAS behind the name Wuhan Institute of Virology emblazoned on the institute’s facade (see picture below).

Fact #3 : Wuhan Institute of Virology Was Established In 1956

The WIV was actually established back in 1956 as the Wuhan Microbiology Laboratory, under CAS.

It was later renamed as the South China Institute of Microbiology in 1961, the Wuhan Microbiology Institute in 1962, and the Microbiology Institute of Hubei Province in 1970.

It finally adopted its current name – the Wuhan Institute of Virology – in June 1978.

For context – China did not initiate their economic reforms – the Opening of China – until December 1978. And the privatisation of state-owned industry did not happen until the late 1980s and 1990s.

So even history shows that it is IMPOSSIBLE for GSK to own the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Fact #4 : GSK Does Not Own Pfizer

GSK and Pfizer are both publicly-listed multinational pharmaceutical companies, which means that they are both owned by their shareholders, not any one particular conglomerate.

In any case, the claim that GSK owns Pfizer is ludicrous because GSK is much smaller than Pfizer!

With a market capitalisation of about US$95 billion, GSK is much smaller than Pfizer which has a market capitalisation of over US$215 billion!

In fact, GSK is only the tenth largest pharmaceutical company, while Pfizer is the largest pharmaceutical company in the world.

Fact #5 : NIH, Not Dr. Fauci, Gave WIV A Grant

The US National Institutes of Health (NIH) gave the Wuhan Institute of Virology a grant through the non-profit EcoHealth Alliance.

The EcoHealth grant partially funded WIV’s research into bat specimens collected from caves in China, to study their potential for infecting humans.

This funding was given in the aftermath of the 2002-2004 SARS epidemic, which originated from bats.

However, the grant does not involve gain-of-function research by the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Fact #6 : BlackRock Does Not Manage GSK

BlackRock is the world’s largest asset management company, and they own about 7.5% of GSK shares (as of 29 January 2021).

However, BlackRock does not manage GSK, which has its own board (helmed by Jonathan Symonds) and its own management team (helmed by CEO Emma Walmsley).

Fact #7 : BlackRock Does Not Manage Open Foundation Company

First of all, there is no such thing as the Open Foundation Company. The fake news creator is probably referring to the Open Society Foundations, which was founded by George Soros.

Secondly, the Open Society Foundations is completely owned by George Soros, and is currently the world’s largest PRIVATE funder of charities and NGOs.

The Open Society Foundations is most certainly NOT managed by BlackRock. It is illogical to make this claim because managing OSF does not allow BlackRock to make a profit for their clients.

Fact #8 : Open Society Foundations Does Not Manage AXA

AXA is a publicly-listed French multinational insurance company, obviously with their own management team.

There is simply no logic (never mind evidence!) in claiming that a private grantmaking group is managing a public-listed company.

Fact #10 : Winterthur Was A Swiss Insurance Company

First of all, Winterthur is not a German company, as the fake news creator claimed. Winterthur is a Swiss company.

Secondly, Winterthur is an insurance company, and thus has no business building laboratories anywhere in the world, much less the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s laboratories.

Fact #11 : Winterthur Was Purchased By AXA

Winterthur was purchased by AXA in 2006, and is today known as AXA Switzerland. It was never owned by George Soros.

Fact #12 : Vanguard Is An Investment Management Group

The Vanguard Group is a private investment management company, that manages funds provided by their customers. In fact, they created the first index fund.

Therefore, it is no surprise that they own shares in Allianz, as well as BlackRock. They basically buy into any company that meets their criteria for profit or indexing.

Fact #13 : BlackRock Does Not Control Central Banks

Central banks are national institutions that are controlled by their respective governments, with different regulatory powers and structures.

There is simply no evidence that even a mega asset management company like Black Rock can control a single central bank, much less central banks all over the world.

In fact, BlackRock was hired by the US Federal Reserve in 2020 to help them manage commercial mortgage-backed securities. In other words, they were working under the control of a central bank, not the other way around!

Fact #14 : BlackRock Does Not Manage ⅓ Of Global Capital

It is true that BlackRock manages A LOT of money globally – US$9 trillion, as of 19 April 2021.

However, that is only 9.5% of the global equity market, which grew to US$95 trillion in 2019.

No matter how you slice and dice it, BlackRock does not manage ⅓ of the global market capital.

Fact #15 : Bill Gates Does Not Own Microsoft

Microsoft has been a public-listed company since 1986, so its shareholders are the owners, not Bill Gates.

Bill Gates himself ceased to be its largest individual shareholder since 2014. When he stepped down from the Microsoft board in 2020, he only owned 1.3% of Microsoft shares!

Fact #16 : Pfizer Is A Public-Listed Company

It is no surprise that Bill Gates is a Pfizer shareholder. Pfizer is a public-listed company, which means ANYONE can purchase Pfizer shares and become a Pfizer shareholder!

Fact #17 : WHO Is A UN Agency

The World Health Organisation is a United Nations agency, established on 7 April 1948, and funded by UN member countries. It was not sponsored by Pfizer now or then.

He has vetted through the science, studies and data about IVERMECTIN presented by the world-class Covid-19 experts mentioned above and he is completely satisfied that they are accurate and true.

We fully support proven safe vaccines against Covid-19. Safety is far more important than efficacy as there is no point for the vaccine concerned to work on you now but you die or become paralysed or crippled later on.

The experimental chemical gene therapy vaccine, which has been given to about 1.8 million people so far in Malaysia during Phase 1 of the Vaccination Programme, which according to the US Government National Institutes of Health’s website (https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/understanding/therapy/safety/), “can have very serious health risks, such as toxicity, inflammation, and cancer”, cannot prevent Covid-19 infection and it cannot stop the spread of the disease. Yes, this vaccine can reduce the severity of symptoms of Covid-19 but IVERMECTIN can do it much better, with a much lower cost and without the health risks of any side effects now or later on.

There have been numerous cases in the US and other countries, where the loved ones of the critically ill Covid-19 patients have to resort to court action to compel the doctors and hospitals concerned to given life-saving IVERMECTIN to these patients. In all these cases, the patients recovered fully when they were given IVERMECTIN.

The powerful, evil, selfish, hypocritical (with double standard) and imperialist forces overseas who are behind a dirty smear campaign, using their mass media, to dis-inform, discredit (directly or indirectly) and demonise IVERMECTIN, in order to DELIBERATELY deny LIFE-SAVING IVERMECTIN to critically ill Covid-19 patients and to let them die so unnecessarily, should be charged for mass murder and war crimes.

As ASIANS, we must Support and be Proud of our own Asian Wonder Drug, as proven by SCIENCE & DATA, against Covid-19. Ivermectin Can Prevent / Cure COVID-19? Not So Fast!

Back in January 2021, we had already fact-checked claims that Ivermectin can prevent or cure COVID-19.

At that time, there was a small promising study that showed Ivermectin may reduce the severity of COVID-19, but not cure or prevent it.

However, nothing much has changed since then. There has been no large scale study that proves that Ivermectin can cure, or prevent COVID-19.

Let’s debunk CIVDAC’s preposterous claims about Ivermectin :

Fact #1 : mRNA Vaccines Are Not Gene Therapy

The mRNA vaccine technology used in the Pfizer mRNA vaccine is NOT gene therapy.

Because it uses mRNA which doesn’t even enter the cell nucleus, it does not change our genes. It is certainly not gene therapy as CIVDAC claims.

So it is hilarious to see them quote a MedlinePlus article on gene therapy, when it is not even relevant.

Fact #2 : mRNA Vaccines Have Been Proven To Prevent COVID-19

It is false to claim that mRNA vaccines “cannot prevent COVID-19 infection”.

Phase 3 clinical trials of both mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna have shown that they are 94-95% efficacious against symptomatic COVID-19.

Fact #3 : No Evidence Ivermectin Works Against COVID-19

It is also false to claim that Ivermectin works against COVID-19, much less that it works better than mRNA vaccines.

While mRNA vaccines have been proven in clinical trials involving tens of thousands of people, ivermectin has not been proven in the same way.

In fact, the evidence (as you will see below) is mixed. And the dosage required for a therapeutic effect may be so high, it could be toxic to humans.

Fact #4 : No Court Order Case Recovered From COVID-19 Using Ivermectin

CIVDAC claimed that there are numerous cases where families of critically-ill COVID-19 patients got court orders to administer ivermectin and “in all these cases, the patients recovered fully“.

The most notable case in the US involved Nurije Fype whose daughter Desareta sued Elmhurst Hospital to administer ivermectin. She finally received a court order to have a doctor administer ivermectin every day from 3 May 2021 onwards.

After 13 days of ivermectin treatment, her daughter reported on 17 May 2021 that she is still “recovering”. That certainly does not sound like she has fully recovered from COVID-19 using ivermectin.

A South African court order also forced the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) to allow the use of Ivermectin against COVID-19.

However, there is no evidence that the use of ivermectin in South Africa through this court order resulted in a full recovery from COVID-19.

What Do Health Authorities Say About Ivermectin Against COVID-19?

WHO On Using Ivermectin Against COVID-19

On 31 March 2021, the WHO posted an advisory on Ivermectin, recommending that it be only used in clinical trials.

An independent, international panel of experts reviewed pooled data from 16 randomised controlled trials, and determined that the evidence on whether ivermectin reduced death and hospitalisation is of “very low certainty“.

Therefore, the panel cannot recommend the use of Ivermectin outside of clinical trials.

NIH On Using Ivermectin Against COVID-19

The US NIH looked at using Ivermectin against COVID-19, noting that it was shown to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 in cell cultures.

However, they also pointed out that the plasma concentrations needed to inhibit the virus would require doses up to 100X higher than those approved for use in humans!

Therefore, the NIH says that there is insufficient data to recommend for the use of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID-19.

FDA On Using Ivermectin Against COVID-19

On 5 March 2021, the US FDA warned against taking Ivermectin to treat COVID-19, after receiving “multiple reports of patients who… had been hospitalised after self-medicating with ivermectin intended for horses“.

They pointed out that ivermectin can interfere with other medications like blood thinners, and an overdose can cause medical problems, even coma and death.

They also warned people that ivermectin meant for animals are highly concentrated and have vastly different doses than those meant for humans. Taking them can put your lives at risk.

EMA On Using Ivermectin Against COVID-19

On 22 March 2021, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) advised against the use of ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 outside of randomised clinical trials.

They pointed out that the clinical studies of ivermectin so far were varied, with “some studies showing no benefit and others reporting a potential benefit”.

They also pointed out that for concentrations of ivermectin to be effective in the lungs, much higher doses than authorised would be needed. Hence, toxicity at such doses cannot be excluded.

KKM On Using Ivermectin Against COVID-19

On 16 May 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) issued a response to claims that Ivermectin can prevent COVID-19 deaths.

They pointed out that a January 2021 placebo-controlled randomised trial involving 24 non-severe COVID-19 patients did not show any reduction in the proportion of PCR positivity after 7 days of taking 400 mcg/kg of Ivermectin per day.

They also shared that in March 2021, the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) published a randomised-controlled trial involving 476 adults with mild COVID-19 who were given a 5-day course of Ivermectin. There was no significant improvement in symptom resolution time.

They have initiated a randomised clinical trial (NMRR-21-155-58433) of their own to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Ivermectin in high-risk COVID-19 patients.

But until then, KKM is “not yet able to endorse Ivermectin to prevent or treat COVID-19 illness”.
