Tokyo, Japan, 14 March, 2016 – VIA Technologies, Inc. and Japan Taxi Co., Ltd. today unveiled the Smart IoT Mobility System, which integrates a full suite of communication and connectivity features in a highly-optimized solution for commercial vehicle applications.
The system was developed by combining the rich industry expertise of Japan Taxi, the IT subsidiary of Nihon Kotsu, which is the leading taxi group in Japan terms of revenues, and the advanced hardware development capabilities of VIA.
By harnessing the connectivity and intelligence of the IoT, it enables operators to enhance passenger convenience and safety while simultaneously reducing costs through the implementation of smart fleet management and the development of new on-demand passenger services.
Smart IoT Mobility System
The Smart IoT Taxi System comprises a ruggedized small form factor VIA AMOS-825 in-vehicle system and a 7” touch panel display, and has been finely tuned to withstand the rigors of the road through a number of key enhancements, including:
