WHO Declares Monkeypox A Global Emergency With 16K Cases!

WHO just declared the monkeypox outbreak as a global emergency, after over 16,000 cases were reported in 75 countries!

Here is what you need to know…

WHO Declares Monkeypox A Global Emergency With 16K Cases!

On 23 June 2022, WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus convened an emergency committee meeting under Article 48 of the International Health Regulations to discuss the current monkeypox outbreak.

The Emergency Committee decided that the monkeypox outbreak did not represent a global emergency at that meeting. At that time, there were just over 3,000 cases of monkeypox in 47 countries.

However, Dr. Tedros convened another emergency committee meeting on Thursday, July 21, 2022, after the outbreak expanded to over 16,000 cases in 75 countries.

Even though the Emergency Committee once again was unable to reach a consensus, Dr. Tedros nevertheless declared that the monkeypox outbreak was officially a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), based on these reasons :

  1. The information showed that the monkeypox virus has spread rapidly to many countries that have not seen it before.
  2. The three criteria for declaring a PHEIC under the International Health Regulations have been met.
  3. The advice of the Emergency Committee, which did not reach a consensus.
  4. The scientific principles, evidence and other relevant information are currently insufficient and leave us with many unknowns.
  5. The risk to human health, international spread, and potential for interference with international traffic.

Monkeypox Global Emergency : WHO Assessment + Recommendations

In his July 23, 2022 press conference, Dr. Tedros gave the WHO’s assessment of the monkeypox global emergency :

  1. The risk of monkeypox is moderate globally and in all regions, except in the European region where the risk is high.
  2. There is also a clear risk of further international spread, although the risk of interference with International traffic remains low for the moment.
  3. The monkeypox outbreak has spread rapidly around the world through new modes of transmission, which we understand too little.

WHO has issued an extensive list of Temporary Recommendations for four groups of countries :

  1. Countries that have not yet reported a case of monkeypox, or have not reported a case for more than 21 days.
  2. Countries with recently-imported cases of monkeypox and that are experiencing human-to-human transmission.
  3. Countries with transmission of monkeypox from animals to humans.
  4. Countries with manufacturing capacity for vaccines and therapeutics.

Although Dr. Tedros has declared monkeypox to be a global emergency, right now – this outbreak is concentrated among men who have sex with men, especially those with multiple sexual partners.

Therefore, it is essential that countries work closely with communities to offer effective information and services to protect the health, human rights and dignity of the affected community.

He warned that stigma and discrimination can be as dangerous as any virus, and called on civil society organisations to help WHO fight sigma and discrimination that may result from this monkeypox global outbreak.

With the current tools we have at hand, the world can stop transmission and bring the monkeypox outbreak under control.

Over 16,000 Monkeypox Cases Confirmed In 75 Countries!

Discovered in 1958, the first human infection was only reported in 1970, and there were only like 400 cases from 1970 to 1986.

Monkeypox became more common over time, with 2000 cases per year reported between 2011 and 2014, and several outbreaks in the US (2003 and 2021), UK (2018 and 2021), and Singapore (2019)..

However, nothing has come close to the 2022 monkeypox outbreak which has now affected at least 75 countries outside of endemic African countries, with over 16,000 cases!

Why Thor: Love and Thunder Is Likely Banned In China!

Here’s why Thor: Love and Thunder will likely remain banned in China forever and ever…

Thor: Love and Thunder Has Not Been Approved In China!

Film regulators in China do not explain or comment publicly why they refuse to approve any movie, but anyone with more two neurons in their brains will be able to connect the dots.

Just like how Lightyear got banned for a brief kiss between two female characters, it seems that Chinese censors have no love for LGBT themes in Thor: Love and Thunder.

This was confirmed by two The Hollywood Reporter sources in China who said that Thor: Love and Thunder will likely remain banned because of LGBTQ+ themes in the movie.

Sources at two major cinema chains in China tell The Hollywood Reporter that they expect Thor 4 will face the same fate as Pixar’s Lightyear: denied censorship approval because of fleeting moments in the movie involving LGBTQ characters.

What LGTBQ+ Scenes In Thor: Love and Thunder Concern China?

Thor: Love and Thunder was already postponed in Malaysia, allegedly over Thor’s butt cheeks. Perhaps this is also an issue for Chinese censors, but they are more concerned about its LGBTQ+ scenes.

Just how many LGBTQ+ scenes are there really? And how controversial are these scenes?

  • Bisexual Asgardian King Valkyrie (Tessa Thomson) kisses a maiden’s hand
  • At two other scenes, characters reference and discuss King Valkyrie’s late girlfriend.
  • Korg (Taika Waititi) is shown to be gay.
  • Korg references having two dads.
  • Korg settles down with a fellow Korean named Dwayne.

Thor: Love and Thunder Is 6th MCU Movie To Be Banned In China

Thor: Love and Thunder will just join a rather long list of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies banned in China.

Black Widow : It was released in May 2021, during the Chinese summer movie season, when there is usually a blackout of foreign movies.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings : It was not approved in China, after 2017 comments by actor Simu Liu resurfaced, in which he called China a “third world” country.

Eternals : It was apparently not approved, after a 2013 interview with China-born director Chloé Zhao resurfaced, in which she said that “there are lies everywhere” in the country.

Spider-Man: No Way Home : Hilariously, Chinese censors wanted Sony to remove the Statue of Liberty from the movie. Perhaps they should have asked David Copperfield instead…

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness : It was not approved because of a scene in which a newspaper kiosk appeared with the Epoch Times visible.

This Viral Photo Of Luxembourg PM + His Wife Is FAKE!

The viral photo of the Luxembourg Prime Minister and his wife is FAKE!

Here is what you need to know about that viral photo!

Claim : This Is Luxembourg PM Xavier Bettel + His Wife!

People have been sharing this viral photo since 2019, but it is going viral again in pro-Russia and pro-CCP groups.

Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel arriving for a function with his wife,Gauthier Destenay.

卢森堡总理和他妖艳的妻子,留着胡子穿 着鱼尾裙,很fashion,你觉得呢?

The Prime Minister of Luxembourg and his coquettish wife, with beards and fishtail skirts, are very fashionable, what do you think?

卢森堡首相贝泰尔携”夫人”昨天抵京,开始对华访问。这是全球首个首相同性恋, 可拭目以待!!

Luxembourg Prime Minister Bettel arrived in Beijing yesterday with his “Madame” and started his visit to China. This is the world’s first gay prime minister Can wait and see! !

Truth : That Viral Photo Of Luxembourg PM + His Wife Is FAKE!

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS designed to disparage the LGBT community and/or European / NATO leaders.

The very fact that this claim was resurrected from 2019, after Europe heavily sanctioned Russia for invading Ukraine, tells us that this is hardly coincidental.

In any case, here are the reasons why this is NOT a photo of the Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, or his wife.

Fact #1 : Xavier Bettel Is Married To Gauthier Destenay

Xavier Bettel is Luxembourg’s first openly gay Prime Minister, and he married his partner, Gauthier Destenay, a Belgian architect.

Bettel and Destenay had been civil partners since 2010, but was able to marry each other on 15 May 2015 – a year after the Luxembourg Parliament approved same-sex marriage.

Here are the real photos of Luxembourg Prime Minister Bettel (right) with his partner, at their town hall wedding.

The marriage comes one year after the parliament approved legislation to turn Luxembourg into an increasing number of countries allowing for same-sex marriages. Fact #2 : That Was Photo Of Conchita Wurst + Andre Karsai

The viral photo is actually of famous Austrian singer and drag queen, Conchita Wurst, and her business manager and the executive director of her company, Andre Karsai.

Conchita is actually the drag queen persona of Thomas Neuwirth, with a fictional backstory – Conchita was born in the mountains of Colombia, and married to French burlesque dancer Jacques Patriaque (Neuwirth’s actual friend)

He says this Conchita Wurst persona is similar to Beyoncé’s Sasha Fierce alter-ego, and uses it as a way to protect his private life.

Neuwirth is gay but not a trans woman. He uses the he/him pronouns when referring to himself, but uses she/her to describe his Conchita Wurst character.

Conchita Wurst is best known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. She also had a cameo in the 2020 movie, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.

Here is an interesting fact about the character’s name. Conchita is a Spanish slang word for vagina, while Wurst is a German slang word for penis. So Conchita Wurst literally means vagina penis!

In 2019, Neuwirth introduced a new mononymous persona called WURST, which would allow for a “more masculine expression”.

Fact #3 : That Photo Was Taken At 2019 Vienna Opera Ball

The viral photo was taken at the Vienna Opera Ball that took place 28 February, 2019, by Jeff Mangione of Kurier magazine.

Here is Conchita Wurst with the Austrian Minister of Justice, Dr. Josef Moser.

And here was her Instagram post at Wiener Opernball 2019 :

Fact #4 : Luxembourg PM Bettel Visited China Twice

As Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Bettel paid two official visits to China :

  • 11-14 June 2017 : Bettel visited China together with two ministers.
  • 27-28 March 2019 : Bettel visited China to witness the signing of several bilateral agreements, and to speak at the Boao Forum for Asia.

There is no evidence that his partner, Destenay, ever accompanied him on his trips to China.

Just in case Chinese netizens are “confused”, let me be clear – that viral photo was not taken in China, during Bettel’s official visit.

Here is an actual picture from Bettel’s official visit to China in 2017.

This photo is being circulated in pro-Russia and pro-CCP groups, as a way to both disparage LGBTQ people and EU / NATO leaders during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Fact Check : Did Michelle Obama Call Women “Womxn”?!

Did former US First Lady Michelle Obama controversially called women “womxn”?

Take a look at the claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : Michelle Obama Called Women “Womxn”!

Many people are deriding former US First Lady Michelle Obama for allegedly calling women “womxn”. Some even sarcastically ask – how should we pronounce womxn?

Amongst them are Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan, who claimed that by changing the spelling of the word to womxn, Michelle Obama was deriding women, and making a mockery of the trans cause.

What makes this particularly absurd is that Ms Obama’s post was supposed to be supporting women’s rights.

Instead she’s trampled on them by pandering to a tiny minority of people who get upset when they hear a word that’s been used for centuries to describe people who aren’t men.

Many shared his video, with denigrating comments like this :

Totally disgusted! How low will she go?

Michelle Obama is not even a womxn. She’s a man. Everybody knows that.

Truth : Michelle Obama Did Not Call Women “Womxn”!

As much as I like Piers Morgan, he’s intentionally shit-stirring, and factually wrong. Here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Michelle Obama Did Not Use The Word “Womxn”

Michelle Obama ostensibly posted the word, “womxn” in an Instagram post on May 15, 2022 that offended Piers so much he posted a screenshot of it in his video (see screenshot above).

I went to check out Michelle Obama’s “controversial” Instagram post, but could find no reference to the word, “womxn”.

This was what she posted. See if you can spot the offending word. I could be blind…

It’s been a tough couple of weeks since we saw the leaked SCOTUS draft opinion on abortion. If it comes to pass, we may soon live in a country where millions of women — not to mention our children and grandchildren — lose the right to make decisions about their bodies and their health. Even if we knew the courts were heading toward this day, it doesn’t make the frustration, grief, and fear any less real.

But we don’t have to stand idly by while others try to turn back the clock on progress. I’m so inspired by everyone out marching today. And I know that we’re going to see so many folks carrying this energy forward to the elections in November and in every election after that.

And if any of you are questioning whether or not your vote matters, I get it. But state lawmakers are the ones who will determine whether abortion is safe, legal, and accessible in your communities. And we are the ones who determine our state lawmakers. So when you get home from marching, check your voter registration status with @WhenWeAllVote and encourage others to do the same at WhenWeAllVote.org.

There were seven slides too, but none of them had the word womxn. It is possible that one of the slides did use the word “womxn”, but has been removed.

But what’s certain is that the message that Michelle Obama wrote did NOT use the word “womxn”.

Fact #2 : Womxn Was Used In Slide She Shared

If you head over to Twitter, you will see that Michelle Obama posted a tweet on May 15, 2022 too, that included the word, “womxn” in the slide :

The leaked SCOTUS draft decision to overturn Roe v. Wade could give state lawmakers the power to strip womxn of the right to make decisions about their bodies and their healthcare. If the decision becomes final, anti-abortion laws will go into effect almost immediately in 13 states.

But again, her own message did not use the word “womxn” :

If any of you are questioning whether or not your vote matters, I get it. But remember that state lawmakers are the ones who will determine whether abortion is safe, legal, and accessible in your communities. And we are the ones who determine our state lawmakers.

In other words, Michelle Obama did not actually use the word that offended so many people, including Piers Morgan.

It was used in at least one slide that I can confirm, and another slide that I’m happy to assume existed earlier in her Instagram post, but might have been removed.

Not that there is anything wrong with the word, but it is wrong to falsely claim that Michelle Obama used it in her May 15, 2022 posts when she did not.

Fact #3 : Slides Were Created By NGO, Not Michelle Obama

It may seem obvious, but I have to say it for Piers’ benefit – the slides were created by an NGO called When We All Vote, not Michelle Obama.

If you look carefully at those slides, you can see the When We All Vote logo, with the orange check mark on the upper left corner (Instagram) or upper right corner (Twitter) of the slides.

Therefore, it would be incredibly disingenuous to credit Michelle Obama for the use of the word that Piers and anti-abortion activists find so offensive.

It’s also wrong to insert Michelle Obama’s name to the bottom of the slide (as Piers did on his show), when she was obviously not its creator.

Fact #4 : Womxn Is Not New…

The term “womxn” is not really new, having been used in writing together with the alternative version, womyn, since the 1970s!

Yes, before many of you were even born, some people had already felt that the term “woman” had sexist connotations, due to the inclusion of the word, “man”.

The term “womxn” started gaining traction in the 2010s, as a more inclusive alternative to the traditional term “woman” as it includes both trans and non-binary women.

It was even added to the dictionary in 2019 by Dictionary.com, which defined the womxn as :

a woman (used, especially in intersectional feminism, as an alternative spelling to avoid the suggestion of sexism perceived in the sequences m-a-n and m-e-n, and to be inclusive of trans and nonbinary women).

Fact #5 : Trans + Non-Binary Females Are Females Too

Trans and non-binary people who are born female do not magically lose their reproductive capabilities and/or rights.

Just because they have a different gender identity does not make their reproductive organs disappear into thin air.

They can still get pregnant, and they are most certainly affected by the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade in the United States.

Fact #6 : It Is Their Choice, Not Ours

It is also up to trans and non-binary females to determine if they want to be identified as womxn or not.

The womxn naming preference really has nothing to do with heterosexual people like Piers Morgan and me.

If women, including trans and non-binary females, prefer to be called womxn or even womyn, that is their right.

Don’t worry if you still wish to be referred to as a woman. It is up to YOU to determine which term you prefer.

And if Piers Morgan wakes up one day and demands to be known as a mxn called Pierce Morgan, I would gladly call him that.

Anti-abortion activists are doing their best to promote this womxn hoohah to divert attention from the likely overturning of Roe v. Wade, and the bigger question of the right of womxn to make their own health and reproductive choices.

So please SHARE this fact check out, so we can all focus on the facts, rather than false controversies.
