Learn How To Share Netflix Titles On Instagram Stories!

DYKT you can share Netflix titles on Instagram Stories on both iPhone and Android smartphones? Here is how to do it on both platforms!

Sharing Netflix Titles On Instagram Stories

Netflix first announced the capability to share Netflix titles on Instagram Stories on 22 January 2019, but it was limited to their iPhone app.

That changed on 16 May 2019, when they finally released the same capability on their Android app.

Here is how you can share Netflix titles on Instagram Stories using these platforms :

Apple iPhone

The current Netflix iPhone app has an Instagram Stories share link. With this new feature, you can :

  1. Select a Netflix title you want to share
  2. Add the Netflix title’s custom art
  3. Share it to Instagram Stories, or to your friends as a direct message

The Instagram story remains visible for 24 hours, and provides a “Watch On Netflix” link back to the title page within the Netflix app.

“We’re always on the lookout for ways to make it easier for members to share the Netflix titles they’re obsessing about and help them discover something new to watch. We hope our members enjoy this new feature!” said Leigh Wong Netflix’s Head of Communications for Southeast Asia.

Android Smartphones

The latest Netflix Android app will have a new Instagram Stories share link.

  1. Select a Netflix title you want to share
  2. You can personalise the default art further to add captions, stickers, and more
  3. Share it to Instagram Stories, or to your friends as a direct message

“Sharing to Instagram Stories is now on all Android phones. You can share the shows and films you’re in love with directly from the Netflix app to your followers. Pop in a quiz for your friends to guess your favourite character from a show. Or a GIF to reflect your mood after a movie. It’s all part of what we’re doing to make it fun and easy to share what you’re watching, and help your friends find something new to watch.” said Netflix

Snapchat Sharing Coming Soon!

Netflix will also be adding Snapchat sharing to both iPhone and Android apps later this year.

The Ultra-Thin LG SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV Revealed!

LG Malaysia just launched the award-winning LG SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV, and it was easy to see why – it is incredibly thin! Let’s take a look at the new LG SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV, and find out what else is great about it… and how much it costs!

The LG SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV

The LG SIGNATURE OLED W-series won more than 20 awards at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Touting a Picture-on-Wall design, the 77″ SIGNATURE OLED W7 won the CES Best of Innovation Award. Due to limited supplies and the understandably astronomical price point, LG Malaysia will only be bringing in the 65″ SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV.

Thanks to the LG OLED display technology, the 65″ SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV boasts an ultra-thin profile of just 3.8 mm. This allows it to be directly mounted onto any wall or glass panel using only four magnetic brackets. To demonstrate this, we placed a Malaysian 50 sen coin (new type) on top of the panel, so you can better see how thin it really is.

Here is a quick video tour of the 65″ LG SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV. Check out the six magnetic brackets and the ultra-thin cable at the back.

It’s not just about looks. The LG OLED display technology not only do away with backlights, it produces perfect black, thanks to its self-lighting pixels that can be turned on and off. The SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV also supports Dolby Atmos surround sound, and HDR formats like Dolby Vision, for the ultimate cinematic experience.

The iflix HD Streaming Q&A With Ash Crick

The videos that iflix streams to your mobile devices may seem sharp but they were not HD in quality. At least, not till iflix started streaming in HD in February 2017. In addition to the increased resolution, they also doubled the audio fidelity of the streaming video. Check out the full details on iflix HD streaming below!

iflix Introduces iflix HD!

iflix Global Director of Labs, Data Intelligence and Content Technology, Ash Crick, gave a quick overview of the iflix HD upgrades at the launch event.

Here are the key takeaway points :

  • iflix started streaming some of their movies and TV shows in HD quality beginning February 2017.
  • In addition to increasing the resolution, they also doubled the quality of the audio.

Q&A With Ash Crick On iflix & iflix HD

We then had the opportunity to ask Ash some questions about iflix and iflix HD.

Here are the key takeaway points :

[adrotate banner=”4″]
  • The iflix HD content is currently being offered in the HD resolution of 720p, not the full HD resolution of 1080p.
  • Beginning on 24 January 2017 March, all new content added to iflix will be in HD quality, with the improved audio quality.
  • Over the next month or two, iflix will start offering their older content in HD quality as well.
  • The audio is not being offered in the HD Audio standard, but rather improved in its perceived quality.
  • The new HD content is not currently available for the iflix Download & Watch Offline (DWO) feature.
  • When iflix makes the DWO files available in HD, their download size will be about twice that of the regular SD files.
  • The bandwidth used to stream the new iflix HD content will be 1.5X to 2.5X more than streaming the older SD content.
  • The Download & Watch Offline (DWO) files for iflix HD content should be available in “the next 60 days“.
  • Ash is confident that iflix will allow users to stream their Download & Watch Offline (DWO) files to a Chromecast device in 2017.
  • iflix HD is currently available only in Malaysia, but iflix will be rolling it out to the other countries over the next 30-60 days.
