Watch Thieves Steal Computer Parts From An Internet Cafe!

We have all seen footage of thieves stealing laptops, tablets and smartphones, but have you seen thieves steal computer parts from an Internet cafe that is open 24/7? Watch how they removed an entire PC chassis and then steal its parts, without anyone catching them in the act!

Watch Them Steal Computer Parts At An Internet Cafe!

On 13 April 2018, two guys walked into the Orange Internet Cafe in Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur. In less than 8 minutes, they removed an entire PC chassis, stripped it of its parts and walked out the main door.

7:42 AM

  • Thief A identifies two empty rows of computers, and starts by unpacking a large plastic bag.
  • Thief B takes up station next to Thief A, blocking view of his actions from anyone passing by.

7:43 AM

  • While Thief B pretends to play a game, Thief A unplugs the computer chassis.
  • After removing the computer chassis, Thief A proceeds to stuff it into his large plastic bag.
  • Thief B leaves, presumably to scout ahead and make sure the toilet at the back was clear.

7:44 AM

  • Thief A lugs the computer chassis in the plastic bag, while keeping an eye out for people.

We later found out that he lugged the computer chassis to the toilet, where both of them stripped the chassis of its parts.

7:49 AM

  • Thief A and Thief B left the computer chassis in the toilet and begins leaving the Internet cafe

7:50 AM

  • They are both seen leaving the Orange Internet Cafe, passing the counter staff who was totally unaware of what just happened.

As you can see, it took them less than 8 minutes to completely remove a computer chassis to the toilet, strip it of its parts and leave by the front door.

We were not privy to what was stolen, but we can see that Thief A did not bring a bag, and Thief B only brought a small sling bag. Most likely, they removed the graphics card, memory modules, hard disk drive or SSD, and possibly its CPU and cooler.

The Orange Internet Cafe has offered RM 500 / ~US$ 128 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of these thieves.

NVIDIA Expands GeForce iCafe Programme Across APAC!

October 24, 2017 – NVIDIA today announced that there are now more than 250 GeForce iCafes in operation across Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, South Korea and Vietnam, with The Pantheon becoming the first GeForce iCafe to earn platinum-class in Malaysia. NVIDIA expects more than 500 GeForce iCafes to be in operation in Asia-Pacific by the end of 2018.

NVIDIA GeForce iCafe Certification

NVIDIA launched its dedicated GeForce iCafe certification programme two years ago to help iCafe owners deliver the ultimate gaming experience to their customers.

Certified GeForce iCafes have access to specially designed GeForce iCafe drivers that provide high performance, save power and offer robust reliability. These drivers are put through rigorous testing by NVIDIA’s Quality Assurance Laboratory and Microsoft’s Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL).

The GeForce iCafes can also leverage NVIDIA Espresso power-saving technology, which provides strong performance and helps to drive higher profits. The technology intelligently and automatically optimises NVIDIA GeForce-based PCs to conserve GPU and CPU power consumption while providing superior graphics performance.

Other incentives of the GeForce iCafe certification program include exclusive participation in Jumpstart for new GeForce product launches, in which iCafe owners can also learn advanced business models; iCafe seminars to learn more about best practices, market trends, programme updates and promotions from NVIDIA partners; and systems integrator workshops.

GeForce iCafe owners are also invited to attend the iCafe Discovery Conference in China. There, iCafe experts, systems integrators and add-in card partners will share innovative business models and ideas, which iCafe owners can apply in their respective countries. Conference benefits include food and beverages, VIP area, eSports zone and a broadcasting room, all aimed at helping iCafes increase revenue.

NVIDIA helps raise the profile of GeForce iCafes by holding major gaming events such as GeForce Xtreme Tournament (GEXT) and Overwatch Open SEA on their premises. These events attract thousands of gamers to the venues, raising the iCafes’ visibility.

The Pantheon is a deluxe establishment located at One Space at One City and features 116 PCs equipped with GeForce GTX 1080, 1070 and 1060 GPUs. A hybrid gaming centre, it provides the ultimate gaming experience for gamers, with a dedicated VR zone and the first eSports arena in Malaysia powered by GeForce GTX and G-SYNC technology.
