At the launch of Acer Day 2019, Acer unveiled the 2019 Acer Aspire 3 laptops, which have been refreshed with NVIDIA GeForce MX230 graphics, and new Intel Core processor options.

The 2019 Acer Aspire 3 / 5 Laptops

The 2019 Acer Aspire 3 and Aspire 5 laptops are designed for mainstream users, at very affordable price points.

Let’s start with a product presentation by Jeffrey Lai, Acer Malaysia’s Senior Product Manager.

 

The 2019 Acer Aspire 3

Like its predecessor, the 2019 Acer Aspire 3 has a 15.6-inch IPS display, with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. However, it now comes with NVIDIA GeForce MX230 graphics, with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory.

The 2019 Acer Aspire 3 has both a 2.5-inch drive bay, as well as a M.2 socket. The Core i5 models come with a 1 TB HDD, and can be upgraded with a M.2 PCIe SSD.

The Core i7 model, on the other hand, comes with a PCIe SSD, but you have the option of adding a 2.5-inch HDD (or SSD) for additional storage.

Acer is initially releasing four different 2019 Aspire 3 models, three powered by the Intel Core i5-8265U processor, and one powered by the Intel Core i7-8565U processor.

The 2019 Acer Aspire 5

Like its predecessor, the 2019 Acer Aspire 5 has a 14-inch IPS display, with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. However, it is now 10% smaller and 16.7% lighter!

Thanks to an aluminium top cover, it offers a premium look and feel in a thin chassis that weighs just 1.45 kg. It also comes with a backlit keyboard, which allows you to work even in dimly-lit conditions.

Acer is initially releasing four different 2019 Aspire 5 models, three powered by the Intel Core i5-8265U processor, and one powered by the Intel Core i7-8565U processor.

The 2019 Aspire 5 is available with an Intel Core i7 processor (A514-52G-72WC) with immediate effect for RM 3,099 / ~US$746 / ~£615 / ~A$1,098.

The Core i5 models (A514-52G-586W, A514-52G-58D7, A514-52G-58NY) are priced at RM 2,499 / ~US$601 / ~£496 / ~A$855, and will be available by the end of August 2019.

The Core i3 model, price yet unknown, will also be available at the end of August as well.

The Core i5 and Core i3 models will be available in Pure Silver, Indigo Blue and Charcoal Black colours.

The 2019 HUAWEI MateBook 13 is a thin and light laptop that boasts a 13-inch IPS touchscreen display with an ultra-high resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels.

Available in two colour options – Mystic Silver and Space Gray, the 2019 HUAWEI MateBook 13 is just under 15 mm thick, and weighs just 1.3 kg.

It does not skimp on performance, boasting the latest Intel Core i7-8565U or Core i5-8265U processor, 8 GB LPDDR3 memory, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics and a fast PCIe X4 SSD.

 

The 2019 HUAWEI MateBook 13 Price List + Deals

HUAWEI first announced the 2019 HUAWEI MateBook 13 at the HUAWEI P30 Series launch.

The 2019 HUAWEI MateBook 13 laptop will be offered in two configurations.

Both models are available for sale from 6 April 2019 onwards.

The ASUS ZenBook 15 UX533 Hands-On Preview!

The ASUS ZenBook 15 UX533 has a 15.6-inch NanoEdge display that offers a whopping 92% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a quad-core 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q graphics.

It boasts a full-size keyboard for comfortable typing. It does not have the ASUS NumberPad, because there is enough space to fit a physical numeric pad.

It also comes with a 3D infrared camera, which allows you to login with Windows Hello even in the darkest of conditions. Even though the new ZenBook 15 has very thin bezels, ASUS managed to squeeze the camera into the top bezel.

Road warriors will be glad to know that the new ASUS ZenBook 15 has a rated battery life of 16 hours, and is MIL-STD-810G rated for reliability and durability.

The ASUS ZenBook 13 UX333 Hands-On Preview!

The ASUS ZenBook 13 UX333 has a 13.3-inch NanoEdge display that offers a whopping 95% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a quad-core 8th Generation Intel Core i7 or Core i5 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics.
