HUAWEI Y9s : 48 MP Photography On A Budget!

The HUAWEI Y9s promises to make 48 MP photography accessible to everyone, even those on a tight budget!

Believe it or not, HUAWEI is offering the new Y9s at just RM 999, with a special free gift to boot! Unbelievable!

Pop-Up Camera + Notch-Free Display

The HUAWEI Y9s joins the pop-up camera fad, delivering a notch-free display and a 91% screen-to-body ratio.

Its auto pop-up selfie camera has a 16 MP sensor with a f/2.2 aperture. According to HUAWEI, it is robust enough to handle 15 kg of suspended weight!

Triple Rear Cameras

Its headlining 48 MP main camera defaults to 12 MP for better low-light performance, but you can switch to the 48 MP mode if you need the extra-high resolution.

This camera also has a handheld Night Mode, and the ability to record slow-motion videos at up to 480 fps!

The biggest upgrade is, arguably, the 8 MP ultra-wide camera – it offers a more dramatic viewpoint, especially for architectural or scenery shots.

The third “camera” is a 2 MP depth sensor that captures depth information to help the main camera differentiate the subject from its background, to deliver more accurate software bokeh effects.

Kirin 710F + GPU Turbo 3.0

Its Kirin 710F platform has four fast A73 cores, four low-power A53 cores and a quad-core G51 GPU. Its gaming performance is further enhanced by GPU Turbo 3.0, which also reduces power consumption by 10%.

Ample Memory + Storage

The HUAWEI Y9s has plenty of memory and storage, boasting a massive 6 GB of LPDDR4x memory and 128 GB of internal storage. And if that’s not enough, you can expand it using a microSD card – up to 512 GB in size!

It also uses the new EROFS (Extendable Read-Only File System) which delivers 20% better random read performance, and 2 GB more storage space through better file compression.

Large Battery + USB-C Port

The HUAWEI Y9s comes with a large 4,000 mAh battery, which supports 10 watt fast-charging. On top of that, it comes with a bidirectional USB Type C port.

The HUAWEI Y9s and the HONOR 9X are remarkably alike – both offering 48 MP photography on the cheap!

However, as much as they may look alike, there are still some differences between the two smartphones…

Basic Design : Same

Both HUAWEI Y9s and HONOR 9X use the same pop-up 16 MP selfie camera, with a 6.59-inch notch-free display.

There are some minor differences in dimensions and weight, but they are basically the same in this respect.

Platform : Depends On Variant

The HUAWEI Y9s uses the same Kirin 710F as the HONOR 9X Malaysia Edition. The HONOR 9X Global Edition, on the other hand, is powered by the newer Kirin 810.

RAM + Storage : Depends On Variant

Both the HUAWEI Y9s and the HONOR 9X Malaysia Edition come with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

The HONOR 9X Global Edition, on the other hand, supports WiFi-AC, Bluetooth 5.0 as well as 4G LTE Cat18 uploads and Cat21 downloads.
