HUAWEI Malaysia is trying to warn people that they are not involved in these fake Facebook contests, and that people should avoid such scams.

You should not participate in these scams, and definitely not give them your personal information.

It aims to encourage the first batch of Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro owners to reach out and get other people to buy them too.

The reason why they are doing this is to make sure the second batch of owners will have someone to help them clone their Android apps, or find alternative apps.

How Does The Mate 30 | Mate 30 Pro Referral Program Work?

Step 1 : Decide on a model

Here is the official price list for the HUAWEI Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro for Malaysia :

To get things started though, HUAWEI Malaysia’s Country Director Bill Liu is offering his personal referral code (33995) for everyone to use for two days – 27 to 28 October 2019.

Step 4 : Purchase through the Referral Program

Why HUAWEI Created The Mate 30 | Mate 30 Pro Referral Program

HUAWEI decided against a general public sale of the HUAWEI Mate 30 and HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro smartphones, due to US restrictions on Google Mobile Services.

They began limited sales in Malaysia through the Exclusive Ownership Campaign, where existing or previous HUAWEI Mate users were allowed to purchase the Mate 30 or Mate 30 Pro.

These early adopters received a whole bunch of freebies. In exchange, they had to learn how to live without Google Mobile Services, with help from HUAWEI through an exclusive service hotline and WhatsApp channel.

And now, they will serve as HUAWEI’s unofficial geek squad! That is why you need a referral code from one of these existing Mate 30 or Mate 30 Pro owners, to be able to purchase a unit under the Referral Program.

How HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro Captures 7680 FPS Video!

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro has a spectacular new video recording feature – the ability to capture 7680 fps ultra-slow motion video!

HUAWEI shared with us four new short video samples to showcase the Mate 30 Pro‘s ability to deliver 7680 fps ultra-slow motion video.

Together with two additional videos they released earlier, we created this video showcase of their 7680 fps slow-motion capability.

How HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro Captures 7680 FPS Video!

It would be impossible for a human being to react fast enough to capture the “right moment”, so when you start recording, its NPU (Neural Processing Unit) analyses a second of video to determine the best time start recording at 7680 fps.

This process of analysing the video data and triggering at the right moment is a very strenuous process, using an AI algorithm and about 2 GB of RAM.

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro then captures 945 frames in 120 milliseconds. That approximately 3.5 GB worth of data is then expanded into 32 seconds of 30 fps ultra-slow motion video.

As you can tell, recording video at 7680 fps (frames per second) takes A LOT of processing power.

Even with its powerful Kirin 990 processor, the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro can only do it at the 720p resolution, and only for a fleeting 0.12 seconds.

So if you are wondering when will you be able to record 7680 fps video at 1080p or 4K resolution, or for longer than 0.12 seconds… we did some calculations, and a future smartphone must be capable of processing all this data in an instant :

1080p @ 0.12 seconds : 7.8 GB of data
1080p @ 0.24 seconds : 15.6 GB of data
4K @ 0.12 seconds : 31.4 GB of data

In addition, all that data must fit into the smartphone’s memory. Such a smartphone would need anywhere from 10 GB to 64 GB of memory!

This is why the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro’s new ability to record 7680 fps video at 720p is, frankly, freaking amazing. The most other flagship smartphones can do is 960 fps at 720p.

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro‘s 7680 fps ultra-slow motion video capability is literally far and above its competitors. 8X better, to be exact!

HUAWEI Phone Clone : Foolproof Way To Bypass Trump Ban?

The HUAWEI Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro will go on sale very soon. But people are wondering – what can you install on the HUAWEI Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro smartphones?

This video that was shared with us shows how HUAWEI Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro users can bypass the Trump ban by simply using the HUAWEI Phone Clone app that is pre-installed in HUAWEI smartphones.

Here is a summary of what the video (which is in Mandarin, with English subtitles) reveals :

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro does not come with any Google apps pre-installed.
HUAWEI Phone Clone is then used to clone all data, including apps, from your old Android smartphone to the new Mate 30.
The process is simple, using a QR code to link and sync the two smartphones.
After the cloning process is complete, the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro will have all of the data and apps from your old smartphone… including Google apps.
According to the host, Mr. Gadget, this is possible because apps that are not based on Google Mobile Services (GMS) are not affected by the Trump ban.
That means important apps like WhatsApp, Waze, Facebook, Instagram and PUBG Mobile (okay, okay… it’s a game, not an “important app”… LOL!) are not affected by the Trump ban.
The YouTube app cannot be installed or migrated since it runs on Google Mobile Services. However, you can still stream YouTube videos through any browser.
Similarly, the Gmail app cannot be installed or migrated. However, you can use the HUAWEI Mail app to access emails from any Gmail account.
Mr. Gadget also recommends installing apps through the Aptoide App Store, as an alternative to Google Play Store (which is not available)

Effectiveness Of The HUAWEI Phone Clone Method

Now, the HUAWEI Phone Clone method is not foolproof.

It allows you to “bypass” the Trump ban by essentially porting over apps that do NOT rely on Google Mobile Services (GMS) to your Mate 30 / Mate 30 Pro smartphone.

But if the app requires GMS (like Gmail or YouTube), you will need to use an alternative app or use the web browser instead. For example :

switch from the Gmail app to the HUAWEI Mail app
use a web browser to view YouTube videos, instead of the YouTube app

This Phone Clone method is also a one-time deal. It lets you migrate the apps (and your data) over from an existing Android smartphone.

But if you ever need to reinstall the app, you will need to do it through the Aptoide App Store, or some other third-party App Store… because Google Play Store is not available.

Similarly, you will need to use the Aptoide app to update your apps, but this works the same way as Google Play Store.

The HUAWEI Phone Clone method is a good option for those with an existing smartphone to migrate most of their apps to the Mate 30 / Mate 30 Pro.

But it doesn’t solve the problem of not being able to access Google Play Store, or apps that use GMS. The good news though is that Trump may soon come to a trade agreement with China, and we could see Google services restored to the Mate 30 / Mate 30 Pro.

The HUAWEI Mate 30 High ISO Capability

In low light conditions, it is possible to increase the camera’s ISO value – basically boosting the signal from its image sensor.

While this effectively increases the sensitivity of the image sensor to light hitting its photodiodes, it can increase noise. Therefore, the ability to increase ISO levels without introducing significant noise is highly desirable.

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro boasts the ability to increase ISO levels up to ISO 51200, which is incredibly high. What this means is you have greater capability to take photos and record videos in low-light conditions.

Thumbing their nose at the Trump ban, HUAWEI is offering their new Mate 30 Pro smartphone in both 4G and 5G variants!

Here is a quick primer on the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro 4G and 5G variants – their key features and differences!

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro Smartphone

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro is built around the brand new Kirin 990 platform, with a triple-tier architecture :

two ARM Cortex-A76 high-performance cores at 2.86 GHz
two ARM Cortex-A76 sustained performance cores at 2.36 GHz
four ARM Cortex-A55 low-power cores at 1.95 GHz

It also comes with a powerful 16-core ARM Mali-G76 GPU, and a new Da Vinci neural architecture.

However, unlike the Mate 30, HUAWEI will offer it in two variants – 4G with 1 big + 1 small NPUs, and 5G with 2 big + 1 small NPUs.

In the front, it has a 32 MP selfie camera, but in the back, it features a new SuperSensing Quad Camera that consists of :

a 40 MP SuperSensing main camera (f/1.6)
a 8 MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom (f/2.4)
a 40 MP ultra-wide camera (f/1.8)
a 3D Time-of-Flight camera

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro is powered by a large 4,500 mAh battery, and supports 40 W wired charging, and 27 W wireless charging.

The HUAWEI Mate 30 Smartphone

The HUAWEI Mate 30 is built around the brand new Kirin 990 platform, with a triple-tier architecture :
