Foreign Workers To Pay For Vaccination In Klang Valley!

Malaysia will reopen COVID-19 vaccination for foreign workers in the Klang Valley, but it is NO LONGER FREE!

Here is what you need to know about this new COVID-19 vaccination initiative!

Vaccination For Foreign Workers : Used To Be FREE!

Malaysia earlier allowed all foreign workers, including those who are undocumented, to get their COVID-19 vaccination for FREE.

However, that walk-in vaccination programme for all foreigners only ran for a short time – from 9 until 22 August 2021.

The government seemed to have forgotten that we are only safe when everyone is safe.

Foreign Workers To Pay For Vaccination In Klang Valley!

On 23 September 2021, JKJAV appeared to have realised the folly of not vaccinating foreign workers.

They announced that foreign workers will be allowed to get vaccinated in the Klang Valley, but it will no longer be free!

Here are the details of the new COVID-19 vaccination programme for foreign workers :

When?

The COVID-19 vaccination programme for foreign workers in the Klang Valley will start on Monday, 27 September 2021 and end on Wednesday, 6 October 2021.

The COVID-19 vaccination programme will run from 9 AM until 6 PM every day.

Where?

The COVID-19 vaccination programme for foreign workers in the Klang Valley will be conducted at a single vaccination centre :

CIDB PPV (COVID-19 Vaccination Centre)
CIDB Convention Centre,
Jalan Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

How?

Foreign workers, or their employers, are encouraged to register online at https://vaccine.cidblink.com/ to receive an appointment, and to expedite their registration process at the PPV.

The registration can be done individually by the foreign workers themselves, or by their employers.

The cost of vaccinating each foreign worker will be RM 90 for two (2) doses.

After registering and paying online, the foreign worker will receive an appointment through email and/or SMS.

Those who are unable to register online may walk-in for their vaccination at the CIDB PPV. However, they must be prepared to pay for their vaccination at the PPV, and will only be vaccinated if there are available doses.

Employers who are sending more than 10 foreign workers in one day must send a company representative to help manage them at the CIDB vaccination centre. The employer is also responsible to ensure that they understand the process and forms that must be filled.

What To Bring?

On the day of their vaccinations, the foreign workers must bring :

  • passport or other forms of identification (printed)
  • smartphone with MySejahtera
  • any evidence to show that they are working in the Klang Valley (pay slip, employer’s letter, etc.)

Daily Quota

The CIDB PPV is only able to vaccinate up to 2,000 people a day.

Those with appointments will be given priority. Those who walk-in will be vaccinated on a first come, first served basis, based on available doses.

JKJAV : Vaccine Consent Form Now In 14 More Languages!

JKJAV just released the COVID-19 vaccine consent form in 14 additional languages!

Find out why this is SO IMPORTANT for the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Malaysia!

JKJAV : Vaccine Consent Form Now In 14 More Languages!

On 30 July 2021, JKJAV released the COVID-19 vaccine consent form in 14 additional languages :

These forms can be printed and brought to the vaccination centre.

It is currently unknown if MySejahtera’s new Digital Consent Form supports these 14 additional languages.

Vaccine Consent Form In 14 More Languages : Why Is This Important?

From 2 August 2021 onwards, certain COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (PPVs) will be opened up for walk-in vaccinations.

For the first time, undocumented people in Malaysia will be given the chance to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

They can just walk-in and get vaccinated at selected PPVs to be announced shortly.

This is an incredibly important step in our goal of achieving herd immunity in Malaysia, and providing the vaccine consent form in their native language is essential in gaining their trust.

If you are employing undocumented foreign workers, or have contact with them, please let them know about this great opportunity!

Encourage them to go and get vaccinated against COVID-19, to protect themselves, their family and everyone else in Malaysia!

MKN : Work From Home Directive Ends On 31 March 2021!

On 11 December 2020, the Malaysia Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) confirmed that their Work From Home directive still applied for CMCO and TEMCO areas, but was optional for RMCO areas.

On 2 March 2021, the Malaysia National Security Council (MKN) cancelled MCO 2.0 and later, lifted inter-district travel restrictions.

On 9 March 2021, MKN confirmed that the existing Work From Home directive would continue in CMCO areas, with 30% capacity for office / management staff.

That finally ends on 31 March 2021. From 1 April 2021 onwards, there will no longer be a requirement for the management and support staff of private companies to work from home.

In the private sector, 100% of the management and operations or support staff in CMCO areas can return to work in their offices.

In the public sector, the attendance will be based on the circular or orders of the Public Services Department (JPA).

The Malaysia National Security Council (MKN) has been announcing changes and updates to the CMCO and RMCO SOP very often.

Take a look at the four announcements from MKN on the CMCO and RMCO SOP, which will start on 10 March 2021.

Langkawi Switches To RMCO

Kedah has been under CMCO (Conditional MCO) since 19 February 2021.

But starting 10 March 2021, the entire island of Langkawi will switch to RMCO (Recovery MCO).

Work From Home Directive Continues

MKN also announced that the Work From Home directive will continue to apply in the CMCO areas. It is only optional for RMCO areas.

Recommended : MKN Work From Home Directive Still Applies!

Live Shows With Audience Allowed

In a surprising turn of events, MKN announced that live shows with audience will be allowed in both CMCO and RMCO areas, starting 10 March 2021.

This includes official government programs, television programs, music and dance, theatre, musicals, comedy, cultural performances

RMCO Tourism Bubble

MKN will also allow tourism to restart in RMCO areas, starting 10 March 2021.

This is limited to holidays and trips managed by tour agencies registered with MOTAC, who will keep the police informed of their travel plans, including the hotels used.

Travel is limited to RMCO areas, and the tour vehicles cannot enter or cut through CMCO areas.

The public is NOT ALLOWED to travel by private cars, because it would make it difficult for the police to monitor and prevent them from entering CMCO areas.

J&T Express Worker Strike Over Pay Cut Clarified!

Viral videos have surfaced, allegedly showing J&T Express workers on strike over a pay cut!

Take a look at the videos, and find out what really happened!

J&T Express Worker Strike Over Pay Cut?

Several videos have surfaced, allegedly showing J&T Express workers on strike over a pay cut.

One of them, in particular, showed J&T Express workers shouting, with one worker standing on a conveyor belt throwing parcels.

According to various netizens, the J&T Express workers were angry and on strike, because their commissions were cut.

The other videos showed what appears to be a J&T fulfilment centre full of undelivered parcels with no one in sight. They appear to be genuine, with J&T logo on some of the parcels.

Coincidentally or not, Muhammad Syazwan Samat just received this brand new PC case from J&T Express.

And one family received their package wrapped in pink underwear!

J&T Express confirmed the incident, and clarified that it was a misunderstanding by several workers who did not understand their year-end bonus plan.

J&T Express in Perak then shared a video of seven workers saying that they did not strike, and apologising for abusing the packages.

On the other hand, this internal memo showed that J&T introduced a new, lower commission rate for their delivery dispatchers from 1 February 2021 onwards.

J&T Express On Viral Video Of Worker Strike

On 7 February 2021, J&T Express finally issued a statement about these viral videos :

The recent viral case which has been circulated on social media regarding “J&T Deducts Employee Wages Incident” that caused the dissatisfaction among employees with violent sorting behaviour, which has attracted the attention and discussion of the public, inside and outside the industry.

First of all, we express our deepest apologies to all Malaysians. Everyone’s opinions and suggestions are truly accepted and adopted by the company. In order to ensure the stability of our employees and to give the public a true accountability, we take this opportunity to clarify the truth to the public today.

“Deduction of Employee Wages Incident”:

J&T has been fully committed to localisation development, continuously improving employee compensation and benefits, and promoting the development of Malaysia’s social economy and E-commerce Industry. We have been committed to building a complete compensation and benefits system to increase employee benefits.

J&T has given employees year-end bonuses after comprehensive consideration, in accordance with the bonus rules and regulations, and in accordance with the Malaysian Labour Law, full bonuses are paid to employees who have worked for a year.

For employees who have worked for less than a year, bonuses are paid according to the length of working time without prejudice.

Unfortunately, certain employees are not clear about the bonus payment scheme which led to violent sorting of packages on February 4th, inciting some employees to make collective disturbances, and posting the videos to social media.

Our Perak state management has immediately handled and clarified the incident. On February 5th, the employees had resumed their normal working status and actively sorted and processed the packages of customers.

As for the fact that J&T deducts employee wages, we clarify that J&T will not deduct or owe employees a penny of wages, and hereby declare that we are willing to accept the supervision and inspection by the public and institutions.
