Truth : Fashion Photos Of Pope Francis Were AI-Generated!

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS created on TikTok, and shared on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : The Photo Was Generated Using Midjourney

The first photo of Pope Francis sporting a fashionable white puffer coat appeared to have been created by trippy_art_special using Midjourney – a text-to-image generator powered by artificial intelligence.

Tripy_art_special posted four Pope Francis fashion photos in the Midjourney Reddit on Friday, 24 March 2023, with the title “The Pope Drip“, but only the first one went viral and was reposted in Twitter, where many people believed it was real, with some calling him “The Dope Pope“.

It then became an inspiration for other people to create their version of Pope Francis looking “dope”, creating the perception that Pope Francis ditched his simple clothes for the latest fashion.

It is unknown if the other photos were also created using Midjourney, or other AI image generators like DALL-E or Stable Diffusion.

Fact #2 : The Photos Have Anomalies

The viral photos of Pope Francis looking fashionable are amazingly realistic, but Midjourney and other text-to-image generators still have trouble with hands and fingers.

If you look at the first viral photo above, you can see that his right hand appears to have most of its fingers cut off, and yet, is implausibly holding onto some kind of object.

The right hand appears normal at first glance, but if you look closely, you will see something odd. Just under the sleeve, the thumb and three fingers are visible, with rings on the middle and ring (fourth) fingers. Yet, those two fingers mysteriously merge and become a single finger a short distance below the rings!

Fact #3 : Pope Francis Is Famous For Dressing Plain

Unlike many of his predecessors, Pope Francis is notable for dressing plain and simple, dispensing with excess adornment.

Instead of silk, Pope Francis opts for simpler and cheaper material like wool. He also wears a simple white cassock, and simple black leather shoes made by a friend, Carlos Samaria in Buenos Aires.

He sports a basic black watch with a white dial, reportedly a Swatch that only costs about $56, and simple glasses. Even the cross he wears is the same iron cross he wore since his anointment as auxiliary bishop of Buenos Aires in 1992.

Pope Francis also chose to “reuse” a modest papal ring in gold-plated silver that was made decades ago, instead of a new papal ring made in gold specifically for him.

Hence, it is rather peculiar why so many people actually believe that Pope Francis is now a fashion icon with expensive taste!

Pope Francis’s penchant for simple, practical clothes has been coined as the “papal athleisure” style, which has been adopted by the cardinals and many Catholics. In a way, Pope Francis is a fashion influencer, even if he never meant to be one!

Fact #4 : This Is Just Another Example Of AI-Generated Imagery

These fashion photos of Pope Francis are funny, but they are really just another example of AI-generated imagery that are becoming extremely common. Take a look at fake news based on AI-generated photos or videos:

With AI image generators like Midjourney, DALL-E and Stable Diffusion making it easy for people to create photorealistic images out of literally nothing, we can expect many more examples coming up.

Truth : Jeremy Ruehlemann Did Not Die Suddenly From Vaccine SADS!

It’s now tradition for anti-vaccination activists to immediately blame all celebrity deaths or illnesses on the COVID-19 vaccine.

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS created and propagated by anti-vaccination activists, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Jeremy Ruehlemann Was Found Unconscious

At 9:50 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2023, the New York Police Department (NYPD) received a 911 call about an “unconscious male” at a midtown Manhattan apartment.

NYPD officers arrived at the apartment, to find 27 year-old Jeremy Ruehlemann “unconscious and unresponsive” in the bathroom. Unfortunately, he could not be revived, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fashion model had been living with his mother for the past year in upstate New York, and worked as a bartender in a Woodstock restaurant. He often travel into the city for modelling jobs, staying with his brother or a friend.

His death was announced by fashion designer Christian Siriano, who called Ruehlemann his muse:

I have never posted anything like this but to lose a friend who was such a beautiful soul is just really hard. This is for Jeremy, the most beautiful man that gave so much love to everyone he met no matter what. He was one of my muses and he always will be.

He inspired me and I will love him forever. I’m sending all my love to his family and friends who lost someone so special. I know we will meet again one day but right now I just want to hug him. Rest well J we all love you so much! Send love to his family today please.

Fact #2 : His Father Said Jeremy Ruehlemann Died From Drug Overdose

On Tuesday, January 24, his father, Achim Ruehlemann, said that Jeremy likely died from an accidental drug overdose.

He did rehab and had tried to get off prescription medication. Obviously, he was not successful. There was no desire to end his life, this was accidental.

Obviously, he had some issues with drug addiction, but he was very happy. He loved life. He was very vibrant, a wonderful soul and a very giving guy.

Fact #3 : His Cause Of Death Is Still Under Investigation

I should point out though that the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office is still investigating his death, and has not issued an official cause of death.

Achim Ruehlemann also noted that they are not “100 per cent sure exactly what happened”, as they are still waiting for the toxicology test results to be released.

Until the NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirms the cause of death for Jeremy Ruehlemann, it is important to say that we do not have an official cause of death.

As it stands though, there is NO EVIDENCE Jeremy Ruehlemann died from the COVID-19 vaccine, and it seems more than likely he died from an accidental overdose of prescription medicine.

Fact #4 : Jeremy Ruehlemann Was Vaccinated Against COVID-19

Jeremy Ruehlemann was vaccinated against COVID-19, posting a photo of himself getting the vaccine on March 20, 2021.

Jeremy appeared to suffer no ill effects from his COVID-19 vaccination, posting “💉✔️🙌🏼”

I should point out that COVID-19 vaccines are meant to protect us against hospitalisation and death from SARS-CoV-2 virus infections, by training our own immune system to recognise the virus and create antibodies against it.

The COVID-19 vaccines cannot prevent hospitalisations or death from other causes of death. It is not an elixir of immortality.

Fact #5 : Vaccine Side Effects Appear Within Hours / Days

Jeremy Ruehlemann was vaccinated 22 months ago. He cannot possibly have died from a vaccine side effect, because they appear within hours or days, not many months later.

Mild side effects like injection site pain, fever, muscle ache, headache, lethargy develop within minutes to hours of the vaccination.

Anaphylaxis develops within minutes, while other severe adverse reactions like myocarditis and VITTdevelop within days.

The spike proteins produced by the COVID-19 vaccines also do not stick around for months. If these spike proteins are permanent (as antivaxxers claim), we would have lifelong immunity.

Your own immune system will identify the spike proteins as foreign, and destroy them within a matter of days, although some may last for up to a few weeks. This is part of how vaccines teach your immune system to identify the enemy and destroy it.

Fact #6 : Claims Of Celebrities Injured By COVID-19 Vaccine Proven False

This is yet another example of anti-vaccination activists abusing sudden deaths / injuries to create and propagate FAKE NEWS about the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

So far, claims of sudden deaths / injuries due to the COVID-19 vaccine have been proven false at every instance. Here is the latest dozen of other false sudden death claims!

It was actually posted by a beauty and fashion blogger called Lisa Marie, who posted it on March 13, 2020.

Fact #2 : Lisa Marie Posted The Message With Her Photo

Some of you may think that it could have been a mistake. After all, Lisa Marie sounds very much like Lisa Marie Presley, no? Potayto, pohtato? Innocent mistake maybe?

I’m afraid, not. When Lisa Marie posted her message about getting vaccinated against COVID-19, she posted her photo – TWO of them in fact.

The person who took the screenshot would have noticed them.  Yet he/she cropped out the photo of Lisa Marie, and only took the screenshot of her text.

Why would anyone do that? Why???

Fact #3 : Hashtags Give Plenty Of Clues

It is odd how people who claim to “know it all” missed the many clues offered by the hashtags in the viral message – #austin #texas #fashion #fashionblogger #austinblogger

Fact #4 : They Look Nothing Alike

Perhaps the answer to the question of why would someone take a screenshot of the post without the accompanying photos of Lisa Marie lies in the fact that they look nothing alike.

The two ladies may share similar names, but they look different. Anyone who sees the photos would immediately realise that the post was not written by Lisa Marie Presley.

H&M Fitting Room Hidden Camera Under Investigation!

Both H&M and the police are investigating how a hidden camera was used to record videos of people in a fitting room and then sold online!

 

Hidden Camera Allegedly Used To Record Videos In H&M Fitting Room!

The H&M fitting room hidden camera scandal exploded on Wednesday, 11 January 2023, after a Twitter user called Nishea (@meleisgw) exposed a private group that was allegedly selling four videos showing couples inside a fitting room.

The video footage appeared to be taken from above the fitting room by a hidden camera, and the videos allegedly showed shoppers undressing and trying on clothes, as well as couples hugging and/or engaging in sexual activities.

The four videos have now leaked, and are being sold through social media and Telegram groups for about RM20 to RM30 (US$4.50 to RM6.80) for the full set. That may seem “cheap”, but it’s because so many people have them already.

If you are thinking of buying these videos, don’t. You are more than likely to get scammed. And will you report to the police that you were cheated of money while trying to buy illegally-recorded videos of people in a fitting room?

One of the victims reached out to Nishea, and confirmed that the incident happened at the H&M store in the Avenue K mall in October 2022. The victim also said that she used the furthest most stall on the left of the fitting room.

She verified her story by showing her receipt of her clothes purchase on that day, and a photo of herself wearing the same clothes. A second victim also reached out to Nishea after that.

Both H&M and the police are now investigating the case.

 

H&M Fitting Room Hidden Camera Under Investigation!

After the incident erupted on social media, H&M addressed the issue, stating:

In response to recent concerns about hidden cameras in H&M fitting rooms, we have conducted an inspection of the fitting rooms in all H&M stores in Malaysia and are working to ensure that there are no security breaches that will compromise the privacy of our customers, as their safety is of utmost importance to us. All findings to date have been reported to the police, and investigations are currently ongoing.

The security manager of the Avenue K mall also lodged a police report over the matter at the Dang Wangi police station.

Assistant Police Commissioner OCPD Noor Delihan Yahya said that the police searched the H&M store but did not find any camera, and believe that the footage could have been recorded in a different location.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is now investigating the case under Section 509 of the Penal Code for intentionally insulting the modesty of any woman by word, through sound, gesture, or object.

On 11/01/2023 at approximately 0900hrs, one (1) 11-second video was uploaded by the owner of the Nishae Twitter account which shows the video recording from a hidden camera of the dressing room of a shopping center in the link https://twitter.com/meleisaw/status/1612094210810998785.

On 09/01/2023 at approximately 1638hrs, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Dang Wangi police headquarters, Kuala Lumpur received a police report regarding the incident. Preliminary investigations are underway to identify the date and location of the incident. The act is an offense under Section 509 of the Penal Code.

 

H&M Fitting Room Hidden Camera : Past Incident In China

This isn’t the first time H&M shoppers were targeted by hidden cameras in its fitting rooms.

Back in July 2017, a shopper called Chu spotted a hidden camera while changing her clothes inside a fitting room in the H&M store in Zhongshan, the south Guangdong province in China.

The camera was linked to a white plastic box behind the curtain on the other side of the door. The police later claimed that several other fitting rooms were also suspected to be fitted with hidden cameras.

However, I should point out that hidden cameras are a risk everywhere, not just in H&M fitting rooms, or any fashion outlet for the matter. It’s a risk in public toilets and even hotel rooms.

What we should learn about this is to be more aware of what’s around us in any room that is accessible to the public, even if it has a door and a lock.

A number of fashion and celebrity blogs have also jumped onto the bandwagon, posting about these new high-fashion water bottle slippers.

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS on social media, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Balenciaga Water Bottle Slippers Do NOT Exist

First, let me just state that Balenciaga did not create any water bottle slippers. Those fancy and super-expensive water bottle slippers do NOT exist.

The viral photo showing that these bottle slippers can be purchased on the Balenciaga website for €895 was photoshopped.

That is indeed Justin Bieber in the photo below… but he did not model those bottle slippers either!

Fact #2 : Balenciaga Bottle Slippers Were Created By neondazer

These viral water bottle slippers were just a concept created by a Russian artist / designer called neondazer (Max Arnautov).

He posted photos of the water bottle slippers, including the edited photo of Justin Bieber wearing them, on his Instagram on August 25, 2022.

Wassup hypebeasts, cop or drop? 😂

Meta-irony and metamodernism are best friends of modern fashion, guys. I guess this concept is meta-ironic towards Balenciaga, which became meta-ironic brand itself thanks to @Demna.

When this idea came to me, I thought: “So f*cking funny! But… I will not be surprised if Balenciaga gonna do something like that for real.”

They released earrings made of laces, destroyed Paris sneakers, a trench shitted by birds.. so this bottle slippers are fitting perfectly! Cuz it’s all about overconsumption and its fruits.

The Internet has gone crazy over photos of Justin Bieber wearing the viral Balenciaga bottle slippers, with comments like these :

Not new in Africa.
Whenever Africa invent her product we laugh at it, now it is in the west let wait and see how it will go viral and Africa will be the first to go in for the same product 😂😂

What did they make Justin Bieber wear? But I like the slippers and thats not how it should be worn.

 

Truth : Justin Bieber Did NOT Wear Those Balenciaga Bottle Slippers!

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS on social media, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Balenciaga Bottle Slippers Do NOT Exist

First, let me just state that Balenciaga did not create any bottle slippers.

Despite a viral photo showing that these bottle slippers can be purchased on the Balenciaga website for €895, they do not exist.

Fact #2 : Balenciaga Bottle Slippers Were Created By neondazer

The Balenciaga bottle slippers were just a concept created by a Russian artist / designer called neondazer (Max Arnautov).

He posted the viral photos of Balenciaga bottle slippers, including the edited photo of Justin Bieber wearing them, on his Instagram on August 25, 2022.

Wassup hypebeasts, cop or drop? 😂

Meta-irony and metamodernism are best friends of modern fashion, guys. I guess this concept is meta-ironic towards Balenciaga, which became meta-ironic brand itself thanks to @Demna.

When this idea came to me, I thought: “So f*cking funny! But… I will not be surprised if Balenciaga gonna do something like that for real.”

They released earrings made of laces, destroyed Paris sneakers, a trench shitted by birds.. so this bottle slippers are fitting perfectly! Cuz it’s all about overconsumption and its fruits.

Fact #3 : Justin Bieber Photo Was From Balenciaga Fall 2021 Campaign

The Justin Bieber photo that neondazer edited was taken from the Balenciaga Fall 2021 campaign, per GQ.

Taken by photographer Katy Grannan, it featured a clean-shaven Justin Bieber wearing a black leather bomber, scrunchy black sweatpants, white tube socks… and a pair of Balenciaga dad core running sneakers.

neondazer edited out the dadcore running sneakers, and replaced them with his own bottle slippers.

Fact #4 : This Is Just Another Example Of Celebrity Fake News

While these photos are arguably satire by an artist, they are being used by many blogs to drive traffic and increase page views for ad money.

Did Nike make 666 pairs of Satan Shoes with human blood and a Satanic emblem?

Find out what’s the latest controversy, and what the FACTS really are!

 

Claim : Nike Made Satan Shoes With Human Blood?

Social media is rife with all sorts of claims about Lil Nas X’s controversial Satan Shoes.

While some are understandably upset about these shoes, others are making false claims about them.

Here is a great example of the kind of claims that are going viral over these Satan Shoes.

Nike made 666 pairs and named it Satan. Sold each pair for USD 1018 taken from Luke 10:18. Each has one drop of human blood and a Satanic emblem.

Nike pulls an American flag shoe because it was deemed offensive but is now releasing a Satan-inspired shoe.

 

Nike Satan Shoes Claims : The Facts!

Fact #1 : Satan Shoes Were Produced By MSCHF

Satan Shoes were produced by MSCHF Product Studio Inc. – a New York-based company – who created them in collaboration with “Old Town Road” rapper Lil Nas X.

Fact #2 : Satan Shoes Are Customised Nike Air Max 97 Sneakers

Satan Shoes are really customised Nike Air Max 97 sneakers. However, this does not mean Nike made them.

MSCHF bought regular Air Max 97 sneakers and customised them with what appears to be :

  • sole air bubble containing red link and a drop of human blood
  • bronze inverted pentagram lace emblem
  • embroidered Luke 10:18 and individual numbering on the side
  • embroidered MSCFH and Lil Nas X at the back
  • red inverted cross above Nike logo
  • new sock liner

Fact #3 : Does Satan Shoes Contain Human Blood?

Yes, but only a single drop in each sole, according to the Satan Shoes product description.

The clear air bubble under each sole contains 60 cc (60 ml) of red ink and one drop of human blood.

While some have suggested that Lil Nas X contributed said human blood, the blood was donated by members of MSCHF.

Fact #4 : Nike Sued MSCHF Over Satan Shoes

Probably due to the fake news circulating about their involvement with Satan Shoes, Nike sued MSCHF on 30 March 2021.

The Nike lawsuit, which was filed with the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, stated that :

  • the Satan Shoes were produced “without Nike’s approval and authorization“,
  • Nike “do not have a relationship with Lil Nas X or MSCHF“, and
  • “Nike is in no way connected with this project”.

Their concern about being boycotted over false claims of involvement with Satan Shoes is apparent :

“There is already evidence of significant confusion and dilution occurring in the marketplace, including calls to boycott Nike in response to the launch of MSCHF’s Satan Shoes based on the mistaken belief that Nike has authorized or approved this product.”

Nike is asking the court to immediately stop MSCHF from fulfilling the orders for those shoes, and requested a jury trial to seek damages.

Notably, Nike did not include Lil Nas X in their lawsuit.

Fact #5 : Only 666 Pairs Were Produced

It is true that 666 pairs of Satan Shoes were produced. All but one were sold, allegedly in less than one minute.

The last – 666th pair – would be made available to a social media user, chosen by Lil Nas X from those who shared his tweet.

Fact #6 : They Were Sold For US$1,018

It is true that each pair of Satan Shoes were sold for US$1,018 – a reference to Luke 10:18 in the Bible :

KJV : And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

NIV : He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lighting from heaven.”

Fact #7 : They Were Featured In Montero (Call Me By Your Name)

These shoes were featured in Lil Nas X’s latest song – Montero (Call Me By Your Name).

In the music video, he can be seen sliding down a stripper pole from Heaven to Hell, wearing a pair of these Satan Shoes.

WeAreNova Fashion Design Contest Kicks Off

HUAWEI Nova is partnering Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) to run the WeAreNova by ThePeople, a fashion design competition.

The contest is open to any professional fashion designer, amateurs and students who are pursuing fashion at local universities.

 

WeAreNova Contest Rules

The contest will run from 10th May till 31st May 2019., and is made up of two stages:

  • Two weeks of submission to nova@klfashionweek.com
  • One week of public voting 

Every contestant needs to design three masterpieces for the Nova series based on its vibrant colours, looks and the brand name itself.

Nova fans and the public will get to vote for their favourite designs on the official Facebook page of KLFW which will ultimately decide the top ten winners.

Every winner stands to win a part of the RM 15,000 and have their work presented during the KLFW 2019 Showcases.

Fujifilm X-A3 + Wonder Photo Shop Launched!

On 3 November 2016, Fujifilm officially launched the Fujifilm X-A3 mirrorless camera, as well as their first Wonder Photo Shop here in Malaysia. As the new mirrorless camera is targeted at the selfie-obsessed younger generation, Fujifilm collaborated with Hatta Dolmat, the award-winning Malaysian fashion designer, to showcase the X-A3 camera with his latest creations in a fashion show in Sunway Pyramid.

 

The Fujifilm X-A3 & Wonder Photo Shop Revealed

The event kicked off with the Managing Director of Fujifilm Malaysia, Mr. Yoshitaka Nakamura, revealing details of the new Fujifilm X-A3 and Wonder Photo Shop. He also revealed the limited-edition Harajuku Kit, and Fujifilm’s brand ambassador for 2016 and 2017 – Malaysian national artistic gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi.

 

The Fujifilm X-A3 @ The Hatta Dolmat Fashion Show

The new Fujifilm X-A3 mirrorless cameras were then revealed by models at a special Hatta Dolmat fashion show. Fujifilm also collaborated with Hatta Dolmat to produce the FUJIFILM X HATTA collection, which comes with an exclusive and limited-edition Hatta Dolmat t-shirt and camera neck strap.

 

The Fujifilm X-A3

The Fujifilm X-A3 mirrorless camera features a retro design with 3 colour options – silver, brown and pink. With a 3″ touch screen LCD display that tilts 180 degrees, it allows for selfies to be easily taken. But it’s more than just a selfie camera. It boasts a new 24 megapixel sensor, and Fujifilm’s proprietary colour reproduction technology.

It also has built-in WiFi connectivity, which allows you to easily connect to wireless printers, like the Fujifilm Instax SHARE printer. Or you can connect your smartphone or tablet to the X-A3 to copy out files, or remotely control it.

The Fujifilm X-A3 will retail for RM 2,888 (~US$ 699), including the Fujinon XC 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II lens.

The Wonder Photo Shop

The Wonder Photo Shop is the first-of-its-kind concept store in Malaysia that offers direct printing from smartphones. Their Wonder Print Stations allow customers to turn their prints into personalised DIY art works, which can be used as gifts and keepsakes.

In conjunction with the launch of the Wonder Photo Shop, Fujifilm introduced a special promotional set – the Harajuku Kit. It comprises of a Mini 8 camera, a mini album, a pack of film, gift cards and a mini acrylic photo frame for just RM 328 (~US$ 79).
