Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 7, 2016 – Dell has announced the signing of its first reseller in Asia Pacific (including Japan) with Peering One, a leading provider of cloud and datacenter services in Malaysia, to provide the Dell Hybrid Cloud System (DHCS) for Microsoft for enterprises in Malaysia.
With the availability of DHCS for Microsoft, large institutions in Malaysia now have access to a hybrid cloud solution that radically simplifies customer cloud experience, control and automates maintenance, allowing them to adopt hybrid cloud in a much faster and flexible manner.
The Dell Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft, featuring technology jointly developed with Microsoft, is designed to break through the hybrid cloud adoption barriers of complexity, cost and control. Customers will be able to go from zero to operational hybrid cloud – having the flexibility of selecting their preferred cloud either on-premise, hosted or public cloud; hosting and scaling cloud applications on demand as user or business needs change; and also enable customers to perform backup or disaster recovery to the cloud – all in under three hours.
According to a Dell worldwide poll of IT decision makers (ITDM) , 9 in 10 say a hybrid cloud strategy is important to achieve a Future-Ready Enterprise. The Dell Global Technology Adoption Index (GTAI 2015) also revealed that 55 percent of organizations globally indicated use of more than one type of cloud. The GTAI 2015 also cites cost and security as the biggest barriers to adopting and implementing cloud, and complexity is the barrier most often associated with hybrid cloud.
“The challenges most customers face on their cloud journey are clear. They tell us it’s too complex, the cost-risk is too high, and control isn’t transparent,” said Mak Chin Wah, general manager, Enterprise Solutions, South Asia, Dell. “All customers want is to simplify and accelerate their journey to the cloud, and that includes customers in Malaysia. Now they can – with a solution that will help enable a hybrid cloud strategy and remove many of the traditional barriers that customers face.”
“The availability of the Dell Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft, featuring Microsoft Cloud Platform System Standard, will help enterprise customers in Malaysia move to the cloud in a way that makes sense for their business. We are delivering a solution that allows them to move workloads to the public cloud or keep it on premise – with ease,” said Michal Golebiewski, Chief Marketing and Operations Officer, Microsoft Malaysia. “Our partnership With Dell, we are delivering on that vision beyond the typical virtualization integrated systems on the market today by providing Azure-consistent hybrid cloud services and a fast time-to-value to help customers enable their hybrid cloud strategy.”
“The feedback we have been getting from the market is that businesses are intrigued by the cloud, but are held back by concerns around data security, cost and the complexity in managing such an environment. For these customers, the Dell Hybrid Cloud System for Microsoft addresses the issues head on,” said Wong Chee Voon, Managing Director, Peering One.
“Businesses whose IT infrastructure is due for a refresh and are looking to offload capital expenditure investment; those who want the capability to easily manage workloads on both private and public clouds through one integrated system; or where data sovereignty is paramount – these enterprises should really consider a hybrid cloud approach.”
