Claim : Western Ambassadors Evacuated Before Turkey Earthquake!

Conspiracy theorists are claiming that Western countries colluded to strike Turkey with an earthquake, and evacuated their embassies and ambassadors before it happened!

UPDATED: List of the countries with leading ambassadors that left Turkey 24 hrs before the earthquakes struck.

Coincidence? 👀

The earthquake was caused by a DEW (Direct Energy Weapon) that beamed onto the fault lines. 2 anomalies suggest that the earthquake was man-made. 1) Quakes of such magnitude are usually deep – around 30km deep. These were shallow, about 10 km.

2) There were 2 high magnitude quakes one after another – 7.8 and 7.5 on the Richter scale. Very unusual. There were hardly any other aftershocks between or after the second quake. Turkey has been trying to leave NATO, and has also been blocking Finland’s and Sweden’s entry into NATO. The quakes were a warning to Turkey to behave or else.

Another anomaly was that 15-20 minutes before the first quake, all the underground gas and oil pipelines in that region were shut off.

No Evidence Western Ambassadors Evacuated Before Turkey Earthquake!

This is just FAKE NEWS created by conspiracy theorists to capitalise on the massive earthquake that devastated Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023.

Fact #1 : No Evidence Western Ambassadors Evacuated Before Earthquake

While conspiracy theorists confidently rattle off the list of eight countries, they did not actually provide any evidence that those countries evacuated their ambassadors.

There is no evidence, whether from credible media reports, or even social media posts, that any ambassador fled Turkey just before the earthquake hit.

Fact #2 : Six Of The Embassies Refuted The Claim

Reuters reached out to all eight embassies in Turkey about these claims that they were evacuated before the earthquake, and six responded.

Representatives of the embassies of Canada, Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherland, and France, told Reuters by email that the allegations are false. The US and Belgian embassies in Turkey have yet to respond.

Fact #3 : Western Ambassadors Seen In Turkey After Earthquake

Several Western ambassadors were seen in photos taken soon after the massive earthquake hit Turkey (here, here, here, here, here, and here).

Fact #4 : Embassies Temporarily Closed Over Terror Threats

The viral claims are sometimes linked to an article by Arab News, which point to the closure of Western embassies three days before the earthquake hit Turkey and Syria.

However, anyone who bothered to read the article would realise that those countries temporarily closed their embassies or issued travel warnings, following a series of far-right protests in Europe, which included several incidents of burning copies of the Quran.

That decision to temporarily close the embassies came right after Turkish police arrested 15 Daesh suspects who were accused of targeting consulates and non-Muslim houses of worship.

The closure of the embassies had nothing to do with the earthquake that came three days later. There is also no evidence that any ambassador or embassy employee was evacuated from Turkey over these security threats.

I should also point out that the US embassy in Turkey did not close over these perceived terror threats.

Fact #5 : Directed Energy Weapons Did Not Cause Earthquake

There is no evidence that Western countries used Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) to cause the earthquake on February 6, 2023.

Directed Energy Weapons is a “catch-all” term referring to weapons that use energy, instead of projectiles, like laser, microwave, particle beams, and sound beams.

While it sounds impressive, directed energy weapons are nowhere near powerful enough to cause earthquakes. Their power also decreases exponentially with range, so they can only be used at relatively close ranges.

Fact #6 : Only Turkey + Iran Claim To Have Directed Energy Weapons

Quite a number of countries are developing directed energy weapons, including China, the United States, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

However, only Turkey and Iran claim to have actually deployed such weapons, with Turkey claiming the first use of directed energy weapons in combat, when it used its ALKA directed-energy weapon to shoot down a Wing Loong II UAV in Libya in August 2019.

The ALKA directed energy weapon has a peak power output of 50 kW, and is designed to destroy drones using its laser at up to 500 m distance, and electromagnetic systems at up to 1 km distance.

Fact #7 : There Were Over 2,100 Aftershocks

The claim that there were “hardly any other aftershocks” is nonsense. A total of 2,109 aftershocks were recorded from 6 to 12 February. By 20 February, over 6,000 aftershocks were recorded.

On top of that, over 320 of those aftershocks had a magnitude of 4.0, with 25 of them recorded within six hours of the main tremor.

Fact #8 : Turkey Is Not Trying To Leave NATO

The claim that Turkey is trying to leave NATO is nonsense.

On January 23, 2023, a Turkish politician called Ethem Sancak said that Turkey might leave NATO in 5-6 months over provocative actions by other NATO members.

However, two days later, a spokesperson for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party, Omer Celik, refuted the claim:

We face such things in every election (calls for ending Turkey’s membership of NATO). These are not the things that we will worry about. Those who call for terminating Turkey’s membership of NATO do not talk sense.

This is out of the question. We are one of the founding countries of NATO. They have no right to say such things. What they say would be a luxury for NATO.

I should point out that leaving NATO would automatically open the door for Finland and Sweden to be accepted as a member state, as Turkey is the only country objecting to their ascension.

That is one of the many reasons why Turkey won’t be leaving NATO quite so soon, even if they are thinking about it – Turkey would lose its veto leverage over Finland and Sweden.

Fact #9 : Gas + Oil Pipelines Shut Down After Earthquake

The claim that gas and oil pipelines were shut down 15-20 minutes before the earthquake struck is false. Oil and gas pipelines were shut down after the earthquake, not before.

If they were shut down before the earthquake, that would imply that the Turkish government was in cahoots with the dastardly Western governments using directed energy weapons to punish them for wanting to leave NATO which would deprive Turkey of its ability to blackmail Finland and Sweden.

Can you now see how idiotic such a conspiracy theory sounds, when you lay out the trail of nonsense in the open?

The WHO has convened an emergency meeting on the monkeypox outbreak that has spread to 56 countries!

WHO Convenes Emergency Meeting On Monkeypox Outbreak!

On 23 June 2022, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus convened an emergency committee meeting under Article 48 of the International Health Regulations to discuss the current monkeypox outbreak.

Chaired by Dr. Jean-Marie Okwo-Bele and Dr. Nicola Low, this emergency WHO meeting on monkeypox is only open to members and advisors of the Emergency Committee.

The findings of this emergency meeting would be conveyed to the Director-General of WHO, on whether the outbreak should be classified as a public health emergency of international concern, and also on potential recommendations on how to address it.

This meeting comes as an NGO called World Health Network (unrelated to WHO) issued a press release describing the current monkeypox outbreak as a “pandemic”, urging “immediate and effective action” from country and global health authorities.

This led to a bit of confusion, as their names and acronyms were similar (WHO vs WHN). To be clear, WHO has not declared a monkeypox pandemic.

Over 4,000 Monkeypox Cases Confirmed In 56 Countries!

Discovered in 1958, the first human infection was only reported in 1970, and there were only like 400 cases from 1970 to 1986.

Monkeypox became more common over time, with 2000 cases per year reported between 2011 and 2014, and several outbreaks in the US (2003 and 2021), UK (2018 and 2021), and Singapore (2019)..

However, nothing has come close to the 2022 monkeypox outbreak which has now affected at least 56 countries outside of endemic African countries, with over 4,000 cases!

Over 560 Monkeypox Cases Confirmed In 25 Countries!

People are now worried about the rapid spread of monkeypox globally. although the WHO has said that it is unlikely to become a pandemic like COVID-19.

Discovered in 1958, the first human infection was only reported in 1970, and there were only like 400 cases from 1970 to 1986.

Monkeypox became more common over time, with 2000 cases per year reported between 2011 and 2014, and several outbreaks in the US (2003 and 2021), UK (2018 and 2021), and Singapore (2019)..

However, nothing has come close to the 2022 monkeypox outbreak which has now affected at least 25 countries outside of Africa, with over 560 cases!

Monkeypox Cases May Increase, But Unlikely To Become Pandemic

On 30 May 2022, the World Health Organisation’s top monkeypox expert, Dr. Rosamund Lewis, gave a public briefing on the 2022 monkeypox outbreak.

Here is a summary of the key points Dr. Lewis shared in that public session :

She does not expect the monkeypox outbreak to turn into another pandemic like COVID-19.
There are still many unknowns about this outbreak, including how exactly it is spreading.
The suspension of mass smallpox immunisation decades ago may have resulted in increased transmission.
Vast majority of current cases seen in gay, bisexual or men who have sex with men.
There is a higher proportion of people with fewer visible lesions that are more concentrated in the genital region, and sometimes nearly impossible to see. This is a danger because they are infectious even though their lesions are not visible.
There is a window of opportunity to shut down the outbreak so it does not become endemic in new areas.

Fortunately, the 2022 monkeypox outbreak appears to be of the less virulent West African strain, because there is no proven treatment.

The smallpox vaccine can offer up to 85% protection against monkeypox, and certain antiviral treatments can be attempted.

But otherwise – hospitals can only offer supportive treatment as the patient isolates for 2-4 weeks until the disease resolves.

Monkeypox primarily spreads through close contact, but can spread through respiratory droplets. However, it is far less contagious and is not airborne like COVID-19.

Infected people are also not considered contagious until they start showing symptoms, which limits transmission. This is unlike COVID-19 which is often spread by people who are asymptomatic.

The best way to describe its ability to infect people would be to understand its R0 (Reproduction Number, pronounced as R naught) – how many people an infected person is expected to pass the disease along to.

The ancestral COVID-19 virus has an R0 of between 2 to 3, which increased to 8 with the Omicron variant. That’s really contagious – every infected person will (on average) transmit the virus to 8 other people.

On the other hand, past outbreaks of monkeypox had an R0 of less than one. That means even though there may be clusters of several cases, even outbreaks, the cases die out on their own.

Monkeypox fortunately does not spread very efficiently between humans. Generally, you need to have skin-to-skin contact with an infected person, or come into contact with his/her bodily fluids, to get infected.

The people most at risk would be close contacts of the infected person, like family members or healthcare workers taking care of them.

Transmission is really happening from close physical contact, skin-to-skin contact. It’s quite different from COVID in that sense.

It’s not as highly transmissible as something like smallpox, or measles, or certainly not Covid. It does not spread easily from person to person, the risk to the general public is low.

That is why it is very unlikely to become a pandemic, although if it spreads to susceptible rodent populations, it could become endemic in those areas.

There is also the fact that the monkeypox is so closely related to the smallpox virus, the smallpox vaccine offers 85% protection against monkeypox infections.

In fact, one smallpox vaccine – JYNNEOS – was approved in the United States to serve as protection against monkeypox. Even though there is no public access to this vaccine, that can quickly change.

Several countries, including the United States, have strategic reserves of smallpox vaccines, which can be deployed in a monkeypox outbreak.

Countries have also started purchasing smallpox vaccines :

19 May 2022 : Spain’s Ministry of Health announced that it was in the process of purchasing thousands of doses of smallpox vaccines
24 May 2022 : CDC announced that the US is in the process of releasing some JYNNEOS smallpox vaccine doses for people who are “high risk”.
25 May 2022 : the German government announced that it was buying 40,000 doses of the JYNNEOS smallpox vaccine from Bavarian Nordic.
26 May 2022 : the UK Health Security Agency announced that it purchased 20,000 doses of the JYNNEOS smallpox vaccine from Bavarian Nordic.

As of 25 May 2022, there were 230 confirmed cases in at least 20 countries outside of Africa, and suspected cases in two other countries.

HU Claim : Queen Elizabeth Dead From COVID-19!

On 22 February 2022, Hollywood Unlocked published an article claiming that Queen Elizabeth was found dead, presumably from her COVID-19 infection!

HU Exclusive: Queen Elizabeth Dead

Socialites, it is with our deepest regret to inform you that Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has died.

Sources close to the Royal Kingdom notified us exclusively that Queen Elizabeth has passed away. She was scheduled to attend the wedding of British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, but was found dead.

The Buckingham Palace announced on Sunday that The Queen had tested positive for coronavirus. They said at the time that Queen Elizabeth who was celebrating her 70th year on the throne — was “experiencing mild cold-like symptoms” but was expected “to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week,” the palace said.

However, this Tuesday, she also canceled her planned virtual engagements as she continued to suffer from the “mild Covid-19 symptoms.” No further details surrounding her death have been shared. She was 95 years old.

Truth : Queen Elizabeth Is NOT Dead From COVID-19!

Seriously, some websites are so desperate for views that they would just make up stories like this.

Queen Elizabeth is very much alive, and NOT DEAD from her COVID-19 infection, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Queen Elizabeth Diagnosed With COVID-19 On Sunday

Just for context, Queen Elizabeth II tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, 20 February 2022.

Fully-vaccinated against the coronavirus, she was said to be suffering from mild cold-like symptoms.

Fact #2 : Queen Elizabeth Continuing With Light Duties

On the very day Hollywood Unlocked claimed that Queen Elizabeth was found dead from COVID-19, Buckingham Palace actually made some announcements about her health :

she postponed two scheduled virtual audiences, and that
she was “still experiencing mild cold-like symptoms“, but will “continue with light duties“.

Fact #3 : Queen Elizabeth Had Her Weekly Telephone Call With UK PM

A day after Hollywood Unlocked claimed that Queen Elizabeth was found dead from COVID-19, Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen had her weekly telephone audience with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Fact #4 : Queen Elizabeth Does Not Attend Celebrity Weddings

It is remarkable that a celebrity blogger like Jason Lee seems unaware that Queen Elizabeth II does not attend celebrity weddings.

She’s the Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth realms, not some doozy influencer or celebrity.

Fact #5 : Queen Elizabeth Is Isolating With COVID-19

Even if Queen Elizabeth wanted to, she wouldn’t be able to attend Edward Enninful’s wedding, because she just tested positive for COVID-19!

Buckingham Palace had already pointed out that Queen is isolating at Windsor Castle after testing positive for COVID-19.

Fact #6 : There Are Existing Protocols To Break The News

The United Kingdom has a long history of monarchs dying, with long-established royal protocols in place to break such news.

If Queen Elizabeth II did indeed die, Buckingham Palace will inform UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, after which an announcement would be made on the BBC.

Obviously, that has not happened.

Fact #7 : Kate Middleton Continued Her Tour Of Denmark

If Jason Lee needs more evidence, he would do well to note that the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, continued her tour of Denmark.

Protocol dictates that members of the royal family must always bring a black outfit on overseas trips, in case of a death in the family.

If the Queen had really died, the Duchess of Cambridge would have been on the first flight home.

Instead, she was seen smiling and dressed in a chic gray coat by Catherine Walker, when she met Queen Margrethe and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.

Fact #8 : Buckingham Palace Does Not Comment On Such Rumours

On Wednesday, 23 February 2022 – the day Buckingham Palace announced the Queen’s call with the UK Prime Minister, a Twitter account (@HollywoodUL) claiming to represent Hollywood Unlocked posted an apology and blamed the mistake on “an intern”.

However, Jason Lee, the owner of the Hollywood Unlocked blog, claimed that it was a fake account, and refused to retract his fake story.

Woke up to some fake account posting a retraction. We do not know that account and we have not retracted our story. There has yet to be an official statement from the Palace. Staying tuned.

Jason Lee also wrote on Twitter :

We don’t post lies and I always stand by my sources. Waiting for an official statement from the palace.

He may have to wait a long time, as Buckingham Palace told Newsweek that it never responds to rumours of this kind.

Fact #9 : Jason Lee Removed Two Posts

Despite insisting that he is standing by his sources, Jason Lee quietly deleted two of his Instagram posts on 24 February 2022.

in the first, he claimed he has never lied, and has never been wrong, that he trusts his sources and he has yet to see an official statement from the palace confirming that he’s wrong
in the second he called out Variety for suggesting that he was wrong

Fact #10 : Hollywood Unlocked Admits Queen Is Still Alive

On 25 February 2022, Hollywood Unlocked finally admitted that Queen Elizabeth II is very much still alive.

Instead of a contrite apology, they wrote a long non-apology article called “Fact Check: 10 Reasons We Believed Queen Elizabeth Was Dead“.

Basically, it was a long list of excuses why they should not be blamed for not checking their facts, and how they would “never intentionally cause unnecessary pain or grief”. Yeah, sure.

Jason Lee apologised in the article, “… based on Wednesday’s report from the Palace, I can say my sources got this wrong and I sincerely apologise to The Queen and the Royal Family.”

COVID-19 Vaccine Is Now Mandatory In Austria!

On Friday, 4 February 2022, President Alexander Van der Bellen signed into law a national COVID-19 vaccine mandate for adults in Austria.

The new law makes it mandatory for all adults in Austria to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, or get fined up to 3,600 euros (US$4,120).

This makes Austria the first country in Europe to make the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory, but not the first in the world.

Ecuador was the first country to make it compulsory for all individuals 5 years and above to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate In Austria : The Details

Huge Monetary Fines

Unvaccinated people in Austria are currently banned from restaurants, sports and cultural venues, but they are now liable to be fined from 600 to 3,600 euros (US$687 to US$4,120).

Unvaccinated adults in Austria will be given time until 14 March to comply with the vaccine mandate, with compliance checks beginning on 15 March 2022.

This new law will last until 31 January 2024, and unvaccinated people can receive the maximum fine of €3,600 (US$4,000) up to four times a year. These fines can be waived if the individuals get vaccinated within 2 weeks.

Exemptions To Vaccine Mandate

The new law allows for certain individuals to receive an exemption from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine :

Pregnant mothers,
Individuals who cannot be vaccinated without endangering their health,
Individuals who recently recovered from COVID – this is a temporary exemption that only lasts 180 days from the date they received their first positive PCR test result.

Implemented In 3 Stages

The Austrian vaccine mandate will be implemented in three stages :

All households will be informed of the new law by 15 March through an official letter delivered by post.
Austrian police will start spot-checking people’s vaccination status, and issuing fines of €600, which can increase to €3,600 for non-compliance.
Those who refuse to show proof of vaccination by a certain undetermined deadline will be automatically fined.

This vaccine mandate in Austria is on the other end of the spectrum from Denmark’s decision to remove all COVID-19 restrictions.

81% of Danes 5 years and older have been fully-vaccinated, but Austria has a pretty high vaccination too – about 75% of the eligible population has been fully-vaccinated.

However, the government argues that mandatory vaccination is the only way to further increase vaccination rates, especially in certain regions like Upper Austria where fewer than 60% of residents are fully-vaccinated.

Other countries will be closely watching to see which of these EU countries made the right decision…

Denmark Is First EU Country To Lift All COVID-19 Laws!

On Tuesday, 1 February 2022, Denmark became the first country in the European Union to lift all COVID-19 restrictions… again.

Wearing of face masks is no longer mandatory on public transport, shops and standing clients in restaurant indoor areas.
Face masks will only be recommended in hospitals, healthcare facilities, and nursing homes.
The COVID-19 digital pass is no longer required to enter nightclubs, cafes, party buses, and to be seated indoors in restaurants, unless required by individual event organisers.
There will no longer be limits on the number of people allowed in indoor gatherings.
Social distancing measures will no longer be required.

The Danish government no longer considers COVID-19 to be a “socially critical sickness“, even as the country experienced a massive surge in cases.

There is one notable exception though – unvaccinated travellers, or those who were not previously infected between 11 and 180 days ago, must undergo a COVID-19 test before being allowed to enter Denmark.

Why Denmark Is Able To Lift All COVID-19 Laws!

Some antivaxxers are already touting the move by Denmark as evidence that COVID-19 is not serious. After all, they will point out – Denmark currently has the second-highest infection rate in the world.

That’s an intentionally misleading, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Denmark Has Very High Vaccination Rates

Danish Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said that “widespread vaccination and boosters have helped the country open up again“, and it shows :

Over 81% of people 5 years and older have been fully-vaccinated.
Over 61% of people 12 years and older received their booster dose

Jens Lundgren, a professor of viral diseases at the Copenhagen University Hospital said, “We have been very successful in our national vaccine programme throughout 2021, a lot of people have received two vaccination shots, and a lot have received three doses as well, and many of those doses were provided in the fourth quarter of 2021.”

Fact #2 : Denmark Has Very Low ICU + Death Rates

Thanks to the high levels of vaccinations, Denmark has experienced very low levels of ICU usage and mortality rates.

Even though they are experiencing a massive surge in new COVID-19 cases, the number of people in ICUs have fallen to only 32.

Even people dying today is far lower than the peak in December 2020, when Denmark experienced far fewer COVID-19 cases.

Danish Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said, “the number of hospitalizations and patients in intensive care is decreasing every day, thanks to vaccination“.

Søren Brostrøm, director-general of Denmark’s Health Authority concurred, “At the same time as infections are skyrocketing, patients admitted to intensive care actually going down. It’s around 30 people in ICU beds right now with a COVID-19 diagnosis, out of a population of 6 million.”

Fact #3 : Denmark May Reimpose Restrictions

The Danish authorities held out the possibility that COVID-19 restrictions may return, as it is too early to know whether there will be a new variant that needs to be addressed.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen told Danish radio, “I dare not say that it is a final goodbye to restrictions. We do not know what will happen in the fall, whether there will be a new variant.”

Denmark had actually lifted all COVID-19 restrictions in September 2021, but reimposed them in the first of a third wave of infections.

So it will not be surprising if they do reimpose COVID-19 restrictions should a new virulent COVID-19 variant start spreading.

Fact #4 : Denmark May Introduce A Fourth Dose

Despite the elation over the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, the government has warned that Denmark could see a rise in infections in the coming weeks.

Health Minister Magnus Heunicke called on Danes to get tested regularly, so that the country could “react quickly if necessary”.

In addition to the reinstatement of COVID-19 restrictions, the Danish government may introduce a fourth vaccine dose.

I should also point out that Denmark almost exclusively uses mRNA vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna. They stopped using AstraZeneca and J&J vaccines, citing the risk of rare blood clots.

We can all enjoy the same privilege as the Danes, by adopting the same common sense approach they have.

New Measures To Block Omicron Variant From Malaysia!

On 1 December 2021, the Malaysia Minister of Health Khairy Jamaluddin announced a series of new measures to block the Omicron variant from reaching our shores.

This decision came after 20 countries reported over 200 cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 :

How Malaysia Intends To To Block Omicron Variant!

Temporary Travel Ban

Malaysia will no longer allow flights from or transiting through countries with Omicron variant transmission, or high risk countries, will be blocked.

These are the eight (8) countries that the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) has listed under the travel ban :

South Africa
Botswana
Eswatini
Lesotho
Mozambique
Namibia
Zimbabwe
Malawi

There is also a temporary travel ban for non-Malaysian citizens from those countries, including travellers who have been in those countries during the last 14 days prior to arrival.

Malaysian citizens and holders of long-term passes (PR status, spouse visa, MM2H and resident pass) are still ALLOWED to return to Malaysia, subject to these restrictions :

Irrespective of their vaccination status, they must undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine at a quarantine station.
They must undergo three RT-PCR COVID-19 tests :
– within 72 hours before departure,
– on arrival in Malaysia, and
– on the 10th day of the mandatory quarantine
A risk assessment will be conducted on the 14th day of quarantine, which may be extended if the traveller is symptomatic.

Malaysian citizens who are planning to visit the listed countries are NOT ALLOWED to continue with their travel plans.

Vaccinated Travel Lane

Arrangements to create a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) with countries with Omicron variant transmission, or high risk countries, have been postponed.

In addition, the Malaysia-Singapore VTL programme for both air and land travel has been amended to require travellers to undergo additional COVID-19 self-tests on the 3rd and 7th day after arrival.

They must then report their test results in MySejahtera.

Monitoring Of Countries With Omicron Variant Cases

The Ministry of Health (KKM) will monitor and provide the other government ministries with a DAILY LIST of countries with Omicron variant cases, or at high risk.

Strengthening Of International Gateways

The Immigration Department of Malaysia has immediately STOPPED the use of the Autogate system.

Flights carrying passengers from the listed countries with Omicron variant transmission, or high risk countries, are only allowed to enter Malaysia through KLIA.

Airlines are responsible for identifying passengers travelling from countries with Omicron variant transmission, or high-risk countries. This information must be submitted to the KLIA Health Office for easier handling of the arrivals.

MAHB is required to create a special “gate” and path for travellers from countries with Omicron variant transmission, or high-risk countries, to undergo a health screening before undergoing their special quarantine.

International Students + Foreign Workers

International students and foreign workers from countries with Omicron variant cases, or high-risk countries, will be temporarily BANNED from entering Malaysia.

Langkawi International Tourism Bubble

Tourists from countries with Omicron variant transmission, or high-risk countries; or those with history of travel to those countries in the past 14 days, are NOT ALLOWED to participate in the Langkawi International Tourism Bubble.

Malaysian citizens (Langkawi residents) returning from countries with Omicron variant transmission, or high-risk countries, are ALLOWED to return to Malaysia, but only through KLIA and must undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine in a special quarantine station.

Foreign tourists who are confirmed to be positive with the Omicron variant of COVID-19 will be isolated and treated in a private hospital, at their own cost.

Did the WHO advise people against taking the booster dose, and the mixing of vaccines?

Take a look at the viral claims and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : WHO Advised Against Booster Dose + Mixing Of Vaccines!

Antivaxxers have sharing videos of WHO Chief Scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan saying that “there is no medical evidence that a third dose is necessary” and that it is a “data-free, evidence-free zone as far as mix-and-match” of vaccines is concerned.

There are a few videos being circulating, so we shared one example, together with two examples of messages that accompany the videos.

WHO said there is no medical evidence that booster shot is necessary and advised against the mix and match of vaccines – calling it a dangerous trend since there is very little information on doing so.👆🏻

Truth : WHO Advice On Booster Dose + Mixing Of Vaccines Out Of Context!

This is yet another effort by antivaxxers to discourage people from protecting themselves against COVID-19.

The truth is – WHO’s advice on the booster dose and the mixing of vaccines was taken out of context.

Here are the facts…

Fact #1 : The Video Was Recorded On 12 July 2021

First, it is important to note that the video was a slice of the COVID-19 Virtual Press Conference conducted by the WHO on 12 July 2021.

It is now the end of November 2021. Things have changed since then – there is more data on vaccine breakthrough, and the mixing of vaccines (heterologous vaccination).

It is irresponsible and misleading to resurrect an old video to convey a narrative that is contrary to what we know today.

Fact #2 : Viral Messages Are False

The accompanying messages are deliberately lying to you about what the WHO actually said.

You will realise that if you read the entire transcript of the 12 July 2021 WHO press conference, like I did.

WHO did not say that there is no medical evidence that booster dose is necessary
WHO did not advise against the mixing and matching of vaccines

I will provide more context in the next two segments…

Fact #3 : WHO Called For Sharing Of Vaccines Over Booster Dose

The WHO’s position at that time was that the limited supply of vaccines should be used to vaccinated those who are unvaccinated, rather than used as booster doses.

In that press conference, Dr. Ann Lindstrand pointed out that while there is a decline [in antibodies], you still have good protection as long as you have a full course of any WHO EUL vaccines.

She also said that it is “more important to be able to vaccinated a larger global population” than “to use the limited supply of doses” as booster doses.

Dr. Soumya Swaminathan agreed with Dr. Lindstrand and pointed out that the booster dose programme for the 11 high and upper-middle income countries will take up 800 million doses of vaccine at a time when many front-line and healthcare workers remain unvaccinated in other countries.

Fact #4 : WHO Advised INDIVIDUALS Against Mixing Of Vaccines

The WHO’s position at that time is clear – individuals should not mix and match their vaccines as they please.

Dr. Soumya Swaminathan was specifically referring to “people who say they’ve taken one and they are planning to take another one“.

She goes on to say that, “There are studies going on; we need to wait for that and maybe it will be a very good approach“.

And she warned that, “It will be a chaotic situation in countries if citizens start deciding when and who should be taking a second, third or fourth dose“.

She was clearly talking about individuals taking vaccinations into their own hands. She clarified that later in a tweet :

To clarify, I warned against individuals mixing and matching vaccines on their own.

Fact #5 : Some Vaccines Lose Protection Faster Than Others

It is now the end of November 2021, and studies have shown that the protection from some vaccines wane faster than others.

For example, the RECoVaM study showed that protection against COVID-19 infections dropped significantly for the Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines after a few months.

But as I explained before, that drop in efficacy is not really as important as the vaccine’s protection against hospitalisation and death.

However, their data also showed that the Sinovac vaccine’s protection against ICU admissions dropped very low.

So giving Sinovac vaccine recipients a Pfizer booster dose is clearly the right decision.

Fact #6 : Mixing Vaccines Lead To Better Protection

At least three teams looked into the mixing of COVID-19 vaccines – heterologous vaccination, and they all concluded that it produced BETTER protection.

Sweden

More than 100,000 people received a dose of AstraZeneca, followed by an mRNA vaccine (either Pfizer or Moderna)
Those who received this mixed were 68% less likely to get a symptomatic infection.
Those who received two doses of AstraZeneca were 50% less likely to get a symptomatic infection.

Denmark

Those who received AstraZeneca + Pfizer were 88% less likely to get infected by COVID-19.
This efficacy is similar to two doses of Pfizer.

France

Healthcare workers who received a mix of AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines had 50% lower COVID-19 infection rates compared to those who received two doses of Pfizer.

Both the booster dose, and the mixing of vaccines, are not only SAFE, they offer BETTER protection against COVID-19.

Do not let these lies by antivaxxers prevent you from protecting yourself and your family against COVID-19.

Claim : Christian Eriksen Collapsed After Receiving Pfizer Vaccine!

After Danish footballer Christian Eriksen collapsed during a Euro 2020 match, antivaxxers started claiming that it happened after he received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Tweets from Luboš Motl, a Czech theoretical physicist, and GeraYaYo2 – a Canadian citizen, went viral recently.

They have since deleted two of their tweets, but the Internet never forgets…

Luboš Motl : Christian Eriksen, the Danish player who suddenly collapsed on the pitch, plays for Inter Milan. The chief medic and cardiologist of that Italian team confirmed on an Italian radio station that Eriksen has received the Pfizer vaccine on May 31st.

GeraYaYo2 : Inter Milan Chief Medic and Cardiologist confirmed that he received the Pfizer vaccine 12 days ago. he spoke an hour ago on Radio Sportiva from Italy.

GeraYaYo2 : Christian Eriksen, a perfectly fit soccer player who plays for one of the top soccer teams in the world and has the best medical attention, collapsed on the field today due to heart failure. Thanks [sic] God they were able to bring him back to life.

He was given Pfizer a few days ago

Truth : Christian Eriksen Did Not Collapse Because Of Pfizer Vaccine!

Like the vast majority of negative news about COVID-19 vaccines, this is yet more FAKE NEWS created by antivaxxers.

They did not even hesitate to LIE about someone’s medical emergency to push their agenda. Absolutely disgraceful and shameless!

Fact #1 : Christian Eriksen Was Not Vaccinated Against COVID-19

The truth is Christian Eriksen was not vaccinated against COVID-19.

Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirmed this on 13 June 2021, stating, “He did not have Covid and was not vaccinated either.”

Luboš Motl refused to accept that, claiming “my source could have been untrue, I am just unsure enough” and “It is not settled for me at this moment.”

Is Luboš a cardiologist? Does he have evidence to the contrary? No. So ignore his ignorant blather.

Fact #2 : Radio Sportiva Denied The Claim

Radio Sportiva denied that the claim, stating,

“The information reported in the tweet mentioned is false. We have never reported any opinion from the Inter medical staff regarding Christian Eriksen’s condition. Please remove the content from the tweet author, otherwise we will be forced to take action.“

Fact #3 : Most Euro 2020 Players Not Vaccinated

There was no requirement for soccer players to vaccinate against COVID-19 before playing in Euro 2020.

That’s because they are all healthy young adults, most of whom do not yet qualify for COVID-19 vaccinations (which are being prioritised for older people with co-morbidities).

The Spanish squad, for instance, received emergency COVID-19 vaccination on 11 June 2021 – the first day of Euro 2020, and just 3 days before their first game.

Why? Because their team captain Sergio Busquets and Diego Llorente tested positive for COVID-19!

Ironically, even GeraYaYo2 acknowledged that on 15 June 2021, stating that 870 Euro 2020 soccer players were not vaccinated.

Fact #4 : Christian Eriksen Had Cardiac Arrest, Not Cardiac Failure

GeraYaYo2 claimed that Christian Eriksen collapsed due to cardiac failure. That is FALSE.

Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest, and we know this to be true because he was successfully resuscitated by CPR and a defibrillator.

Cardiac failure happens gradually and over a long period of time. It doesn’t result in a sudden collapse like that. Rather, your heart has trouble pumping blood to the rest of your body, so you feel weak and breathless.

Cardiac arrest happens suddenly – your heart stops pumping and you collapse immediately – unconscious and (usually) not breathing, which was exactly what happened to Christian Eriksen.

A person with heart failure will not look healthy, whereas cardiac arrest can happen even to people who are young and ultra-fit like soccer players.

Heart failure can be treated with medication, but a cardiac arrest is a medical emergency – you will die if you are not immediately resuscitated.

Fact #5 : Christian Eriksen To Be Fitted With A Heart Starter

On 17 June 2021, Denmark’s team doctor, Morten Boesen, said that Christian Eriksen will be fitted with an ICD due to heart “rhythm disturbances”.

“Christian has accepted the solution and the plan has moreover been confirmed by specialists nationally and internationally who all recommend the same treatment.”

Known colloquially as a heart starter, the ICD (Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator) is designed to automatically correct most life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms).
