The 2018 Dell Latitude + Vostro Laptops Revealed!

Dell today unveiled the 2018 Dell Latitude and Vostro laptops designed to address the way people work today. They include the new Dell Latitude 7390 and Latitude 5290 2-in-1 laptops, as well as the Dell Vostro 13 and 14 5000 series laptops. They also revealed two new monitors. Check them out below!

 

The 2018 Dell Vostro 5000 Series

The new Vostro 13 5000 (5370) and Vostro 14 5000 (5471) have a thin, lightweight design for maximum mobility, with an aluminum casing for durability and a professional look. They have anti-glare Full HD IPS display, with wide viewing angles.

Both models come with up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory, and an optional AMD Radeon 530 discrete graphics with up to 4GB of GDDR5 memory. The Dell Vostro 13 5370 has a solid state drive with up to 512 GB of storage, while the Vostro 5471 has the option of a solid state drive, a traditional hard disk drive, or even hybrid storage.

 

The 2018 Dell Latitude 13 Series

The Dell Latitude 13 7390 line-up now boasts the latest dual-core and quad-core 8th Generation Intel Core vPro 15 W processors. They continue to boast an magnesium alloy chassis for durability, and a PCI Express SSD for maximum storage performance.

The Latitude 7390 2-in-1 model comes with a touchscreen and a Wacom active pen that attaches to the device magnetically.

 

The 2018 Dell Latitude 12 Series

The Dell Latitude 12 5290 has a 12.5-inch HD display, with the latest 8th Generation Intel Core vPro 15 W processor. It offers multiple security options and multi-factor authentication hardware such as touch fingerprint reader, contact FIPS 201 smart card reader, and contactless smart card reader NFC to prevent unauthorised access.

The Latitude 5290 2-in-1 weighs less than two pounds and comes with an auto-deploy kickstand. Security is also convenient and scalable – options available include Windows Hello via IR camera, or more stringent levels including biometric card readers with Control Vault 2 and FIPS 140-2.

 

The 2018 Dell Monitors

Dell also added the world’s brightest ultra-thin monitors – the Dell 27 Ultrathin Monitor (S2719DM) and Dell 24 Ultrathin Monitor (S2419HM).

Both monitors support HDR-content playback for a CinemaColor experience, in a virtually borderless InfinityEdge display. With a sleek profile at only 5.5 mm at its thinnest, both monitors deliver peak brightness of 600 nits.

The 2018 Dell Experience Workshop

Colony @ KLCC, Kuala Lumpur – 18 January 2018 – Dell Malaysia hosted the 2018 Dell Experience Workshop to demonstrate how professionals and influencers use technology to enhance their work, passion and lifestyle.

The workshops on photography and music production were led by two local influencers – Jason Goh is the founder of Popmetive, a boutique social media content agency, and also runs Smashpop.net, a lifestyle blog with a big focus on cool technology. As one of the early adopters of ‘social photography’, Jason got involved in photography in 2003 and has worked with many brands to produce photos and videos for social media.

Muhamad bin Ahmad Husni is the owner and Managing Director of Hotsound Studio, a local music production studio. An experienced music engineer and producer, Muhamad has worked with many local artistes such as Amy from Search; Intan Sarafina; iR Radzi; Cherry Jelson; and Nominos, among others.

An extensive line up of Dell laptops and 2-in-1 was also showcased, including the latest 8th Gen Intel Core processor devices and the new flagship XPS 13 which was just unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 held in Las Vegas, US in early January 2018.

 

The Dell XPS 13 2018 (9370)

The recently announced Dell XPS 13 2018 is improved in every conceivable way and was just named a CES 2018 Innovation Award Honoree.

Along with its next-generation InfinityEdge 4K Ultra HD display, the XPS 13 adds a dazzling Rose Gold with Alpine White woven glass fiber interior as an option to traditional silver and black, with narrower borders and up to 80% more thermal headroom.

Inside its thinner, lighter design, the Dell Power Manager delivers power just when you need it, while GORE Thermal Insulation, the same silica aerogels used in the Mars Rover to diffuse and dissipate heat, introduces an innovative material into the thermal design to keep the system cool while it works hard.

The Dell Inspiron 13 5000

Pricing and Availability

Pricing for the Inspiron 13 5000 laptop starts at RM2,899 / ~US$ 725 while the Vostro 13 5000 and Vostro 14 5000 starts at RM3,199 / ~US$ 799 and RM2,899 / ~US$ 725 respectively, and are available now through Dell and its authorised partners.

The news Dell XPS 13 2018 starts at RM5,999 / ~US$ 1499, and will be available end-January 2018.
