SA Pulmonologist : Liver Damage In People Taking Ivermectin!

SA Pulmonologist : Liver Damage In People Taking Ivermectin!

A leading pulmonologist in South Africa is warning that 90% of his patients who took ivermectin had liver damage.

Find out what’s going on, and why it is dangerous to self-medicate with ivermectin!

SA Pulmonologist : Liver Damage In People Taking Ivermectin!

Dr. Emmanuel Taban – a leading pulmonologist in South Africa, recently wrote that two out of three COVID-19 patients who were admitted to his hospital were taking ivermectin.

Even more worrying – he shared that some “90% of the patients using the drug, presented with liver damage“.

Specifically, his patients were presenting with “deranged liver function tests“, which is a sign of liver damage.

He also shared examples of the type of ivermectin that his patients were using before they were admitted to his hospital for treatment.

In another post, Dr. Taban reminded people that claims of ivermectin as a “miracle cure” are based on poor quality evidence.

In particular, he pointed out that the Elgazzar study from Egypt showed very positive outcomes for ivermectin against COVID-19, only to be retracted over allegations of “scientific fraud and plagiarism“.

He shared that both the Critical Care Society of Southern Africa (CCSSA) and the South African Society of Anaesthesiologists (SASA) concurred with the SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority) that :

Ivermectin should not be used routinely in the management of any stage of COVID-19, except in the context of sufficiently powered Randomised Clinical Trials (RCTs), with well-defined study endpoints intended for regulatory marketing authorisation.

Both CCSSA and SASA are also “deeply concerned that many patients and their families view treatment with ivermectin as an alternative to getting vaccinated“.

Can Ivermectin Cause Liver Damage?

Ivermectin is generally a well-tolerated drug. However, it has been known to cause liver damage.

In 2006, a 20 year-old woman from Cameroon developed severe hepatitis from a single dose of ivermectin.

In February 2021, pulmonologist Frederico Fernandes, who is also President of the São Paulo Society of Pulmonology and Tisiology (SPPT), shared about his young patient who needed a liver transplant after self-medicating with 18 mg of ivermectin every day for a week.

Hepatologist Paulo Bittencourt, who is President of the Brazilian Liver Institute of the Brazilian Society of Hepatology, stated that 27% of acute hepatitis or fulminant acute hepatitis in Brazil occurred as a result of medications, likely from the indiscriminate use of ivermectin.

He warned that taking ivermectin, chloroquine or azithromycin can lead to acute hepatitis. Even though it’s relatively rare, large-scale use by millions of people will lead to many cases of hepatitis.

Bittencourt himself recounted about a patient who used ivermectin every 15 days to prevent COVID-19. Even limited to bi-weekly use of ivermectin, his patient still developed nausea.

There is already a proven prophylaxis for COVID-19 – vaccines. Don’t put your life at risk, by self-medicating with ivermectin. GET VACCINATED!

KKM : Law Enforcing COVID-19 SOP Valid, Not EO-Related

KKM just confirmed that the law enforcing COVID-19 SOP and fines is still valid, and is not related to the Emergency Ordinance.

Here is what you need to know…

Malaysia Extends COVID-19 Law + Fines To December 2021!

On 21 July 2021, the Malaysia Minister of Health, Dr. Adham Baba issued an extension to the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Declaration of Infected Local Areas) Order 2020.

Gazetted on 22 July 2021, this order extends the powers conferred by Section 11 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 [Act 342] from 2 August 2021 until 31 December 2021.

Read more : Malaysia Extends COVID-19 Law + Fines To December 2021!

KKM : Law Enforcing COVID-19 SOP Valid, Not EO-Related

When the extension was announced, there was some confusion over whether it was valid, as the Emergency Proclamation was allegedly revoked on 21 July 2021.

On 31 July 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) clarified that the extension order was made under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 [Act 342].

Subsection 11(1) of Act 342 allows the Minister of Health to declare that there is an outbreak of an infectious disease in any area.

He can then prescribe measures to be taken to “control or prevent the spread of any infectious disease within or from an infected local area“.

The order was meant to extend the infected local area declaration that was first enforced on 18 March 2020, with a new extended period of 2 August until 31 December 2021.

Under the order, all states and federal territories in Malaysia are considered as “infected local areas”.

KKM explained that this is different from the Emergency Proclamation that was declared under Article 150 of the Federal Constitution, which allowed the Agong to declare an Emergency across Malaysia from 11 January until 1 August 2021.

Revoking the Emergency Ordinance will not impede or affect the powers of Act 342.

No Changes To Current COVID-19 Law + Fines In Malaysia

The new order only extends the current COVID-19 law and fines to 31 December 2021.

There is no change to the law, or the fines announced previously, but let’s do a quick round-up of what was announced earlier.

On 25 February 2021, the Malaysian government introduced amendments to the law that increased fines for non-compliance with COVID-19 measures :

  • Individuals who commit an offence : Up to RM 10,000
  • Companies that commit an offence : Up to RM 50,000
  • Possible additional penalties : Up to 50,000 and/or up to 6 months imprisonment
  • Offences, for which no penalty is expressly provided : Up to RM 100,000 and/or up to 7 years imprisonment

The Act was also amended to allow the government to order a person to wear a “tracing device”, also known as a tracking device.

These changes came into effect on 11 March 2021, and will continue to apply until 31 December 2021.

Drop In Jakarta COVID-19 Cases Due To Ivermectin?

Is the recent fall in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta, Indonesia, due to the use of ivermectin?

Take a look at the new ivermectin claim, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Drop In Jakarta COVID-19 Cases Due To Ivermectin!

This message is being shared on WhatsApp by ivermectin proponents.

It claims that the drop in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta is due to the use of ivermectin.

WHAT HAS CHANGED ?

But over two weeks, Jakarta’s daily cases dropped from 14,619 on July 12 to 2,662 on July 25, according to city data, while pressure on Covid-19 referral hospitals has eased.

“The situation is very different,” Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan said in a video address yesterday.

“The hallways in front of emergency (hospital) units were always full…. Now they’re mostly empty,” he said.

They introduced Ivermectin!

NO EVIDENCE Drop In Jakarta COVID-19 Cases Was Due To Ivermectin

Ivermectin proponents are touting the drop in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta as a result of Indonesia introducing ivermectin to treat and prevent COVID-19.

That’s bullshit and I will show you why.

Don’t be misled by these fake messages on ivermectin. These people are antivaxxers who are trying to fool you into not vaccinating yourself against COVID-19.

Protect yourself and your family – get VACCINATED against COVID-19!

Fact #1 : No Evidence Drop Was Due To Ivermectin

It’s easy for an unnamed person to simply say that the drop in new COVID-19 cases in Jakarta must be due to the introduction of ivermectin. Where’s the evidence?

There is NO EVIDENCE that the drop in new COVID-19 cases was due to ivermectin.

It is far more likely due to emergency measures that Indonesia initiated like travel and business restrictions on red zones, including Jakarta.

There is also evidence (see Fact #5) that the high vaccination rate in Jakarta could be the reason.

Fact #2 : Cases Are Not Falling Across Indonesia

Even as the number of new COVID-19 cases in Jakarta has fallen, they are not falling across the rest of Indonesia.

That’s why ivermectin proponents are specifically pointing out Jakarta. It’s the only city in Indonesia where new cases are falling.

Fact #3 : Ivermectin Was Illegally Sold Since 2020

Ever since the Australian lab study suggested in April 2020 that ivermectin could work against COVID-19, people in Indonesia have illegally imported and sold ivermectin.

That was further spurred by Harsen Laboratories’ handing out of ivermectin (for free) to use against COVID-19 in 2020.

But that did not stop Indonesia from detecting 4,000 to 14,000 new cases of COVID-19 every day since September 2020.

Fact #4 : Official Sale Of Ivermectin Did Not Help

In June 2021, both Harsen Laboratories and Indofarma were given licences to distribute ivermectin as a parasitic drug, basically legalising its sale in Indonesia.

That, however, did not stop the massive surge in COVID-19 that kicked off in middle of May 2021.

It was only 16 July 2021 – 2 months later – that Jakarta started seeing a drop in new COVID-19 cases.

Isn’t it odd that Indonesia continues to register over 40,000 new cases EVERY DAY, even with the legalised use of ivermectin?

Fact #5 : Jakarta Has Highest Vaccination Rate

A likely big factor in cutting down the number of new COVID-19 cases in Jakarta would be the surge in vaccinations.

Jakarta had already vaccinated the 3 million priority recipients by June 2021, with the aim to vaccinate its remaining 4.5 million residents by August 2021.

That would mean that approximately half of the Jakarta population were vaccinated by the time the number of new cases started to fall.

The much slower vaccination rate across the rest of Indonesia would also explain the high number of new cases per day outside of Jakarta.

Fact #6 : Ivermectin Hasn’t Helped Other Countries

It is also instructive to note that ivermectin has NOT helped other countries control COVID-19.

Ivermectin proponents have claimed that these countries have successfully used it to prevent and treat COVID-19.

Does it really look like they successfully handled COVID-19?

Bet they also didn’t mention that India stopped using ivermectin, because it was … well, useless.

Read more : MAECC Ivermectin Briefing : Control COVID-19 In 6 Weeks?

Fact #7 : Ivermectin Not Proven To Work Against COVID-19

Ivermectin has been shown to work against COVID-19 in lab (in vitro) studies, but has NOT been shown to improve clinical outcomes or prevent transmission.

That is why the WHO and the vast majority of health authorities around the world DO NOT advocate using ivermectin to prevent or treat COVID-19.

So please stop obsessing over ivermectin, and get VACCINATED against COVID-19!

Can Raw Chicken Infect You With COVID-19?

Can raw chicken infect you with COVID-19, if they were handled by infected workers?

Find out what keeps going viral, and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Raw Chicken Can Infect You With COVID-19!

There have been warnings about the dangers of raw meat contaminated by workers infected with COVID-19.

These warnings are usually tied to claims of a factory being closed over COVID-19 exposure, or multiple COVID-19 cases.

Here is a new example :

31 people in the chicken factory in Menglembu Industrial Zone were infected, and many chickens with the virus have been sold to the whole Ipoh market.

Tell your family not to buy chicken recently, it is safer to go to the market less

Can Raw Chicken Infect You With COVID-19? Plausible But Not Probable

Now, I cannot confirm whether a chicken factory in Menglembu had a cluster of 31 workers infected with COVID-19. There is currently no news report of such an incident.

So let’s just consider the question – can raw chicken infect you with COVID-19? Here are the facts…

Fact #1 : Not Easy To Get Infected From Handling Food

Based on the fact that other coronaviruses and respiratory viruses can be transmitted through fomites – (contaminated objects), it is certainly plausible way to get infected handling such objects.

However, you cannot get infected just by touching them. You have to touch the contaminated objects and then touch your nose, mouth or eyes.

That is easily avoided by washing your hands before touching your face!

How often do you touch your face while handling raw chicken? Pretty sure no one wants to do that with their dirty hands!

Fact #2 : No Infected Cases From Handling Food

There was also consistent evidence that SARS-CoV-2 can persist on certain surfaces for days. That led to early recommendations for sanitisation of public spaces where known positive cases were present.

However, WHO points out there has been NO SPECIFIC REPORTS of anyone getting COVID-19 through fomite transmission.

The US CDC also has a specific page on the risk of getting infected by COVID-19 through contaminated food, where they concluded that as of 31 December 2020 :

  • Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that handling food or consuming food is associated with COVID-19.
  • Currently, no cases of COVID-19 have been identified where infection was thought to have occurred by touching food, food packaging, or shopping bags.
  • Although some people who work in food production and processing facilities have gotten COVID-19, there is no evidence of the virus spreading to consumers through the food or packaging that workers in these facilities may have handled.

Just make sure you WASH YOUR HANDS after handling raw chicken or other kinds of meat or produce, BEFORE touching your face!

I would also recommend wearing a face shield while handling raw meat or produce as it prevents you from accidentally touching your face.

Fact #3 : People FAR Riskier Than Contaminated Food

The SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 spreads primarily through respiratory droplets from infected human beings.

So you are FAR more likely to get infected by an infected person, than handling raw chicken or other meat contaminated by infected workers at the meat factory.

That is why it is very important to maintain COVID-19 precautions while you are out in public.

It doesn’t matter if you are shopping in an air-conditioned supermarket, or buying groceries in an open-air market.

Just make it a habit to maintain those COVID-19 precautions AT ALL TIMES, as you never know who is infected with COVID-19.

Fact Check : Ivermectin Dose + Protocol By Dr. Amir Farid?

Advice on ivermectin dose and protocol by Dr. Amir Farid is circulating on WhatsApp.

Let’s take a look at his advice, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Ivermectin Dose + Protocol By Dr. Amir Farid

This ivermectin dose and protocol by Dr. Amir Farid has been circulating on WhatsApp, teaching people how to take ivermectin to prevent and cure COVID-19.

It is rather long, so SKIP to the next section for the FACTS.

IVERMECTIN DOSE & PROTOCOL.
By Dr Amir Farid

(For best absorption, take AFTER FOOD)
Ivermectin is Best as PREVENTION. Can reduce infection by 86%.

Take 12mg/every week, (adult 50kg and above) even after vaccination (because many still get infected, some die, after completing vaccination) until COVID new cases are low.

(If weight is 90 kg or above, take every 5 days instead of weekly)

Fact Check : Ivermectin Dose + Protocol By Dr. Amir Farid?

This advice on ivermectin dose and protocol by Dr. Amir Farid is misleading and dangerous, and here are the FACTS why…

Fact #1 : Ivermectin Not Approved For Human Use In Malaysia

Ivermectin is not approved for human use in Malaysia, only animal use. It is also not approved for use against COVID-19.

However, hospitals can apply for the off-label use of ivermectin, which must be done in a monitored environment.

So it is WRONG for any doctor or medical specialist to advice people to self-medicate with ivermectin, more so using an unapproved protocol.

Read more : Can Hospitals In Malaysia Use Ivermectin To Treat COVID-19?

Fact #2 : Sale Of Illegal Ivermectin Punishable By Fine And/Or Jail

People selling illegal ivermectin in Malaysia are subject to these penalties :

  • Individuals : Up to RM25,000 and/or 3 years of prison for the first offence, and up to RM50,000 and/or 5 years of prison for subsequent offences
  • Companies : Up to RM50,000 for the first offence, and up to RM100,000 for subsequent offences.

Read more : Illegal Ivermectin Sale : Up to RM50K Fine + 5 Years Jail!

Fact #3 : Ivermectin Should Be Taken Before Food

Dr. Amir Farid doesn’t seem to know that ivermectin should be taken on an empty stomach!

In fact, it’s best not to eat any food for two hours before or after taking ivermectin, for optimal absorption.

Instead, he is advising people to do the opposite. Can you really trust him to know what he’s talking about?

Fact #4 : Ivermectin Dose + Protocol Not FLCCC Compliant

The main group pushing ivermectin is FLCCC, and Dr. Amir Farid has spoken up in favour of the FLCCC.

However, the ivermectin dose + protocol that he is recommending has NOTHING to do with the FLCCC ivermectin protocol.

FLCCC recommends taking ivermectin just once a month to prevent COVID-19. Dr. Amir Farid is asking people to take it once a week.

FLCCC recommends taking ivermectin just twice after getting infected with COVID-19. Dr. Amir Farid is asking people to take one to two tablets for 5-7 days.

Fact #5 : Ivermectin Dose + Protocol Not Based On Any Study

Medicine doses are calibrated for safety and efficacy though clinical studies.

However, Dr. Amir Farid’s recommended ivermectin dose and protocol does not appear to be based on any study.

It is not even based on the FLCCC ivermectin protocol, which itself isn’t based on any study either.

So it is unknown why Dr. Amir Farid believes his ivermectin dose and protocol works. There is certainly no proof of it working.

Fact #6 : Ivermectin Not Proven To Work Against COVID-19

Ivermectin has been shown to work against COVID-19 in lab (in vitro) studies, but does NOT improve clinical outcomes or prevent transmission.

That is why the WHO and the vast majority of health authorities around the world DO NOT advocate using ivermectin to prevent or treat COVID-19.

Read more : Latest Ivermectin COVID-19 Study : What Does It Really Say?

Fact #7 : Dr. Amir Farid Raided For Prescribing Ivermectin

On 16 June 2021, Dr. Amir Farid’s clinic was raided for supplying ivermectin to patients, “falsely claiming that it can prevent COVID-19“.

Dr. Amir Farid confirmed the raid by the Malaysia Health Ministry, but declined to provide further details.

Fact #8 : Dr. Amir Farid Made False Claims In MAECC Briefing

Dr. Amir Farid was part of the first MAECC briefing on ivermectin, where he made several false claims :

  • Malaysia can recover from the COVID-19 pandemic “in a matter of weeks” if ivermectin is used (false)
  • doctors swore the Hippocratic oath and must be compliant with the Nuremberg Code and the Helsinki Declaration (false)
  • it is unethical to insist on more clinical trials to investigate the efficacy of ivermectin (false)

Read more : MAECC Ivermectin Briefing : Control COVID-19 In 6 Weeks?

Fact #9 : People Have Overdosed On Ivermectin

Self-medicating with ivermectin can lead to overdosing because the tablets available in most countries, including Malaysia, are formulated for animal use.

In February 2021, the Missouri Poison Center even issued a warning :

There have been reports of intentional ivermectin overdoses which can cause serious symptoms such as seizures, coma, lung and heart problems.

Fact #10 : Not Safe To Buy Ivermectin Online

Due to the hype in ivermectin, scammers are pushing online sales of ivermectin at ridiculous prices, like the Scam Alert : Ziverdo Kit To Treat COVID-19!.

A single strip usually costs just US$0.30 (RM1.20), but is being sold for anywhere between US$9 to US$25 (RM35 to RM100).

Even worse – there is no way to know if you are actually purchasing ivermectin, or fake tablets labelled as ivermectin.

Those who purchase and consume ivermectin are putting themselves at risk.

So please advise your family and friends NOT to purchase ivermectin. They should instead protect themselves from COVID-19 by getting vaccinated!

Take a look at the new viral warning, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Malaysian Vaccination Certificate Rejected By Hong Kong?

On 22 July 2021, this warning about the Malaysian vaccination certificate being rejected by Hong Kong authorities went viral.

Wah, our digital Vac certificate is not recognised by HK!! I thought there should be global reciprocity!

[22/7, 7:30 pm] HS: News travels fast.
Hong Kong health ministry has declared the following this morning:

1) Malaysia is now classified as one of the highest risk countries for COVID-19 infection

2) All returning Hong Kong residents from Malaysia will need to undergo a 21 days compulsory quarantine at a designated hotel and to undergo 4 specific COVID-19 test, upon arrival, on the 5th day, 10th day and 18th day

3) Vaccination certificates issued by the Malaysian authorities will not be recognised or accepted and a new COVID-19 vaccination has to be administered locally

What a shame to Malaysian!!
[22/7, 7:30 pm] HS: Our digital certificate not laku!!!

Fact : Malaysian Vaccination Certificate NOT Rejected By Hong Kong

This is yet another piece of FAKE NEWS being created every day and shared on WhatsApp. Here are the FACTS…

Fact #1 : Hong Kong Does Not Have A Health Ministry

Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region in the People’s Republic of China.

It does not have a Health Ministry, only a Department of Health, which reports to the Hong Kong Food and Health Bureau.

Fact #2 : Hong Kong Did Not Declare Malaysia As Highest Risk Country

The Hong Kong government did not classify Malaysia as “one of the highest risk countries for COVID-19”.

The HK Department of Health issued two press releases on 22 July 2021, both not related to Malaysia. Neither were there any press statements about Malaysia in the last month or so.

The HK Immigration Department has not issued any press releases since 19 July 2021, certainly nothing about Malaysia in the last month or so.

Fact #3 : Malaysia Still Classified As Group B Country

As of 22 July 2021, Malaysia is still classified as a Group B country by the Hong Kong government, which is the third rung of their risk ladder :

  • Group A1 (Extremely High Risk) : Brazil, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, The Philippines, South Africa and The United Kingdom.
  • Group A2 (Very High Risk) : Ireland, Russia
  • Group B (High Risk) : Argentina, Bangladesh, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Romania, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, the United States of America, and Vietnam
  • Group C (Medium Risk) : All other countries, except China and those not in Groups A1, A2, B and D.
  • Group D (Low Risk) : Australia and New Zealand

Fact #4 : Non Residents Are Barred From Entering Hong Kong

As of 22 July 2021, the Hong Kong government bars non-residents from entering Hong Kong if they have stayed in these countries in the last 14 days :

  • Taiwan
  • Any country in Groups A1, A2, B and C

That practically means that non-Hong Kong residents must first stay in a Group D country – either Australia or New Zealand – for at least 14 days before they are allowed to enter Hong Kong!.

Fact #5 : Hong Kong Recognises Many COVID-19 Vaccines

As of 29 June 2021, the Hong Kong government recognises thirteen COVID-19 vaccines, including the three vaccines being used in Malaysia – Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac.

Fact #6 : Everyone Entering Hong Kong Must Quarantine

Whether you are vaccinated or not, all travellers – whether Hong Kong residents or foreigners – must quarantine after entering Hong Kong.

As mentioned above, only non-Hong Kong residents travelling from Group D countries (currently Australia and New Zealand) are allowed to enter Hong Kong.

  • If fully vaccinated with recognised vaccines :
    – 7-day compulsory quarantine in a designated quarantine hotel
    – 2 tests during quarantine
    – 3rd test on 12th day
  • If not fully vaccinated / vaccinated with unrecognised vaccines :
    – 14-day compulsory quarantine in a designated quarantine hotel
    – 3 tests during quarantine
    – additional tests on 16th and 19th days

Fact #7 : Everyone Entering Hong Kong Must Undergo A COVID-19 Test

Irrespective of whether you have been tested before flying to Hong Kong, all travellers to Hong Kong are required (as of 22 July 2021) to undergo a COVID-19 test on arrival.

Testing is conducted at the HK Department of Health’s Temporary Specimen Collection Centre, and travellers have to wait for their test results.

Only after a negative test result are they permitted to travel to their quarantine hotel.

Those who test positive will be transferred to a hospital for isolation and treatment.

COVID-19 Vaccination For Children Postponed For Now!

CITF just announced that COVID-19 vaccination for children will be POSTPONED until a later time.

Here is what you need to know!

COVID-19 Vaccination For Children : One Vaccine Approved!

On 15 June 2021, Malaysia approved the Pfizer COMIRNATY vaccine for children of 12 to 17 years in age.

CITF also opened up registration of children for COVID-19 vaccination through MySejahtera and the Vaksin COVID website.

COVID-19 Vaccination For Children Postponed For Now!

On 22 July 2021, CITF (COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force) announced that COVID-19 vaccination for children will be postponed for the time being.

This includes SPM candidates (and is meant to) prevent any risk of myocarditis and pericarditis (heart inflammation) as reported by teenagers in the United States who have received their second dose of Covid-19 vaccines.

The government will only administer the Pfizer vaccine to adolescents with certain underlying health conditions, like cancer, chronic lung disease and co-morbidities like diabetes.

The Malaysia Health Ministry is finalising clinical guidelines for children and teenagers with such pre-existing conditions, as they are at higher risk of hospitalisation or death if they contract COVID-19.

Children of between 12 and 17 years of age can still register for vaccination, but no vaccine appointment will be given out.

Teenagers who are 18 years of age by 31 December 2021 will continue to receive their COVID-19 vaccine appointments.

COVID-19 Vaccination For Children : Risk Of Myocarditis / Pericarditis

Unfortunately, both Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines are now known to cause cases of myocarditis and pericarditis in teenagers.

  • myocarditis : inflammation of the heart muscle
  • pericarditis : inflammation of the outer lining of the heart

These cases are rare – just 1,148 cases were reported in the United States (as of 19 July 2021) amongst people 30 years old or younger, of which 674 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis were confirmed.

That was after over 20 million Pfizer COMIRNATY doses were given to adolescents and young adults. So the risk of developing myocarditis / pericarditis is approximately :

  • 6 cases for every 100,000 doses.
  • 1 case for every 17,400 doses

The confirmed cases in the United States have occurred :

  • mostly in male adolescents and young adults age 16 years of older
  • more often after getting the second dose
  • typically occurs within a few days after receiving the vaccine

People who develop myocarditis or pericarditis will experience symptoms like :

  • chest pain
  • shortness of breath
  • heart palpitations / pounding heart

“You Wanna Kena Whacked?” Maskless Bully To Be Charged!

The maskless bully who threatened to “whack” people who asked him to put on a face mask will be charged in court!

Take a look at the two viral videos, and find out why this Covidiot will soon be charged in court!

Maskless Bully : “You Wanna Kena Whacked?”

In this viral video, a maskless bully wanted to buy food at this roadside stall, but became aggressive when confronted for not wearing his face mask.

He started cursing and threatening not just the stall owners, but also another customer in the video, “You wanna kena whacked?

The video naturally went viral on social media, and netizens soon identified him as Shyamalan Jaganathan, a 33-year old licensing consultant who once worked for the Echez Group.

Echez Group has since announced that Shyamalan has not worked with them since 2018, stating :

We want to express to you that this person does not work with us since 2018 and does not represent the values and principles of our company.

We have already taken the necessary measures so that he can no longer use our name in social networks.

Echez Group respects and promotes among its employees, collaborators, and associates the application of the Biosafety protocols required in each geography where we have presence.

When his MyKad and His LinkedIn profile became public, Shyamalan quickly deleted his LinkedIn account.

Unfortunately, that didn’t stop netizens from coming across and sharing a video of a previous encounter in which he was abusive to another gym user.

“You Wanna Kena Whacked” Maskless Bully To Be Charged!

The incident happened at Jalan Desa Bakti in Kuala Lumpur, at around 10:30 AM on 19 July 2021.

The stall owner’s daughter lodged a police report against Shyamalan a few hours after the incident.

The Brickfields police announced that they were investigating the matter under :

  • Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation
  • Regulation 17(1) of the Prevent and Control of Infectious Disease Regulations 2021 for breaking the Phase 1 SOP (not wearing a face mask)

On 20 July 2021, Deputy Brickfields OCPD Superintendent Basri Sagoni confirmed that they arrested Shyamalan near his house in Taman Desa Bakti at 8 PM last night.

On 21 July 2021, Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar said that the police obtained a one-day remand extension, and he will be charged tomorrow (22 July 2021) for criminal intimidation and not following the COVID-19 SOP.

He could receive up to two years of prison and/or a fine for criminal intimidation, as well as a compound for violating the SOP.

Maskless Bully : Why He’s A Danger To Society

Shyalaman is just one of the few but very vocal people who refuse to abide by COVID-19 precautions, in particular – wearing a face mask in public.

If he has COVID-19, he can easily spread it to other people simply by standing next to them. When he walked up to the man in the video, he was more than just physically threatening the other customer.

This is a real concern as the Delta variant of COVID-19 is capable of infecting people in 5 to 15 seconds, if you do not wear a face mask.

That is why it is critical that everyone must wear a face mask in public, preferably double-masked, and put on a face shield or some kind of eyewear if possible.

You should maintain a physical distance of 2-3 metres from other people if you can. Please don’t be a Covidiot like Shyamalan.

And definitely GET VACCINATED against COVID-19.

Fact Check : Fake Police Raid On Penang Condo?

A woman live-streamed a police raid on her condominium in Penang, claiming that they could be robbers posing as fake police officers.

Her livestream went viral. Find out what really happened, and what the facts really are!

Viral Video Of Fake Police Raid On Penang Condo???

On 12 July 2021, a Penang lady live-streamed a police raid on her condominium on Logan Road, claiming that they could be robbers posing as fake police officers.

It didn’t help that they were all in plainclothes and it was very late at night – about 11 PM.

It also did not help that fake news have been circulating on WhatsApp, claiming that robbers pretending to be government officials using fake warrants to rob people.

She refused to let them in, and live-streamed the entire face-off on Facebook.

Truth : Police Raid On Penang Condo Was Genuine, Not Fake!

The truth is the police raid on the Penang condo was REAL, not fake. They were not robbers, but genuine police officers.

The Nilai district police issued a statement on 13 July 2021, clarifying the incident.

On 12 July 2021, police officers from the Nilai Commercial Crime department, acting on Op Pelican information, went to the condominium unit on Logan Road, in Penang.

Accompanied by two fellow officers from the Dato Keramat police station, they were looking for a man to assist in their investigation concerning a case of fraud.

According to Nilai district police chief, Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman, they introduced themselves and presented their police identity cards, but the lady refused to let them in.

The video only showed one of the plainclothes officer wearing a yellow PDRM vest showing what appears to be his MyKad, and not a police ID.

Later, two Penang police officers in uniform arrived at her unit to assure her that the men were not robbers posing as fake police officers.

She then let them into her unit, but they did not locate the man inside. No arrest or seizures was made that night.

206 IDCC Vaccination Centre Staff Positive For COVID-19!

A total of 206 staff at the IDCC vaccination centre just tested positive for COVID-19!

Find out what’s going on, and what you should do if you were recently at the IDCC vaccination centre!

206 IDCC Vaccination Centre Staff Positive For COVID-19!

On 13 July 2021, JKJAV – the Special Committee on COVID-19 Vaccine Supply – announced that the IDCC vaccination centre (PPV) will be closed for the day after two volunteers tested positive for COVID-19.

This would allow for sanitisation of the vaccination centre to be carried out. The IDCC PPV will reopen on 14 July 2021.

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) immediately ordered a screening test of all other workers at the IDCC PPV.

The test was carried out on 10 July 2021, and they found that another 204 staff were positive for COVID-19, with RT-PCR CT value of 35 – meaning that they have a low viral load.

That would mean a total of 206 staff members of the IDCC PPV have tested positive for COVID-19, including the initial two cases.

National Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, also shared that there are 453 workers at the IDCC PPV, of which :

  • 88% (400 people) have been vaccinated
  • 12% (53 people) have not been vaccinated

He did not reveal how many of the 206 positive cases were vaccinated. However, at least 153 of the 400 vaccinated workers would have tested positive for COVID-19 – a vaccine breakthrough rate of about 38%.

All other IDCC PPV workers will be quarantined, and replaced with a new team as a precautionary measure.

NIOSH has been ordered to monitor the ventilation in the IDCC PPV to ensure safety of people getting vaccinated going forward.

Read more : COVID-19 Vaccine Breakthrough : What You Need To Know!

IDCC PPV COVID-19 Exposure : What Should You Do?

CITF has determined that the risk of exposure to the infected IDCC PPV staff members started from 4 PM on 9 July 2021 until 12 July 2021.

Therefore, everyone who went for vaccination at the IDCC PPV from 4 PM on 9 July 2021 until 12 July 2021 must self-quarantine and monitor their symptoms for ten days.

Those who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms should get tested immediately.

People who have appointments at IDCC PPV are advised to :

  • maintain COVID-19 precautions
  • maintain physical distance at all times
  • come only at the appointed time
  • go home as soon as they’re vaccinated

Was Shopee Warehouse Closed After 50 COVID-19 Cases?

Did the Ministry of Health shut down the Shopee warehouse after 50 employees were infected with COVID-19?

Take a look at the COVID-19 rumour that went viral, and find out what happened!

Claim : Shopee Warehouse Closed After 50 COVID-19 Cases!

This short warning, which came with two photos, went viral on WhatsApp.

It suggested that the Shopee warehouse was shut down by the Ministry of Health, after 50 employees tested positive for COVID-19!

50 Shopee’s employees infected. Please spray your parcels with disinfectant when you receive them.

Shopee Warehouse Closed, Not Because Of COVID-19 Cases?

The notice of closure by the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) is genuine, but Shopee claims that they are unrelated to the allegations of COVID-19 cases.

Here is what we know so far…

Fact #1 : Shopee Denies Warehouse Closure Due To COVID-19 Cases

On 10 July 2021, Shopee claimed that the closure of their warehouse has “nothing to do with the alleged COVID-19 cases“.

They did not confirm or deny the alleged COVID-19 cases, or whether any of their employees recently tested positive for COVID-19.

Fact #2 : Pictures Of Police From Earlier Inspection

The pictures that were shared with the rumour was not from 9 July 2021, but a week earlier.

On 3 July 2021, Shah Alam district police officers inspected the Shopee warehouse to check for EMCO SOP compliance.

During that inspection, they identified an issue at the Shopee warehouse involving the registration of daily part-time workers in the COVID Intelligent Management System (CIMS).

Due to a misunderstanding of the SOP, Shopee was fined RM10,000.

The 9 July 2021 closure of the Shopee warehouse was unrelated to this 3 July incident.

Fact #3 : Shopee Warehouse Closed To Implement New SOPs

According to Shopee, they received guidance on additional SOP from KKM to implement in their Shah Alam warehouse, because Shah Alam is under EMCO restrictions.

They claimed that the guidance was very helpful, and thus their “warehouse will be closed temporarily to implement these added SOPs as quickly as possible“.

Fact #4 : KKM Ordered Shopee Warehouse Closure

However, the KKM notice tells a different story. It is an official Notis Perintah Tutup Premis (Notice of Premise Closure Order).

That was not a suggestion or guidance by KKM. It was an order to close the Shopee warehouse at the Mapletree Logistics Hub, from 9 July until 16 July 2021.

However, this does not mean that the rumours of 50 infected Shopee employees are true. It merely tells us that the closure of the Shopee warehouse was mandatory, not a suggestion.

Fact #5 : Warehouse Parcel Deliveries Will Be Delayed

While Shopee is assuring everyone that their platform is “operating per business as usual”, they admitted that there will be delays “for deliveries via our warehouse”.

They said that buyers whose orders are affected will receive an alert via push notifications in their Shopee account.

This is further evidence that the warehouse closure was not a suggestion, but an order that must be complied with.

Shopee Statement On Warehouse Closure Over COVID-19 Concerns

This is the 10 July 2021 statement by Shopee on their warehouse closure over COVID-19 concerns/

Dear valued Shopee users,

Shopee is cooperating very closely with the authorities who are working hard to fight Covid-19 in the country. On 9 July 2021,we received some guidance from the Ministry of Health (MOH) on additional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) they suggested for us to implement at our Shah Alam warehouse. This is because Shah Alam has been placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order. It has nothing to do with the alleged Covid-19 cases, and the inspection is separate from the one conducted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) on 3 July.

The guidance is very helpful and our warehouse will be closed temporarily to implement these added SOPs as quickly as possible.

To clarify, the Shopee platform is operating per business as usual and deliveries made by Shopee Express and all our other delivery partners are not affected. Some delays may occur and only for deliveries via our warehouse, which are a small portion of overall orders. Buyers whose orders are affected will also receive an alert via push notifications in their Shopee account.

Rest assured it does not impact our overall platform operations and we continue to provide Shopee users with all your needs.

We seek your patience and understanding as this is a national matter and we all have a part to play in the fight against Covid-19. Thank you for all your support and we will provide updates on the situation via our official social media accounts.

Thank you.

AEON 1 Utama Reopening After Sanitisation + Swab Tests!

AEON is reopening their 1 Utama departmental store after shutting it down for sanitisation and swab tests!

Here are the LATEST updates…

AEON 1 Utama Closed 3 Days For Sanitisation + Swab Tests!

On 4 July 2021, AEON announced that they are closing their 1 Utama departmental store for 3 days as “part of precautionary measure”.

This came after unverified rumours of over 50 cases of COVID-19 in AEON 1 Utama circulated on WhatsApp :

Update : 1 Utama just announced that “there is NO confirmed DELTA variant case” at their shopping mall.

On 7 July 2021, AEON announced that they are reopening on 8 July 2021, after completing “a comprehensive sanitisation exercise” and performing “a full swab test on [their] employees“.

They also confirmed that the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) informed them that they have “no knowledge of any information regarding the Delta strain” in the COVID-19 cases at AEON 1 Utama.

I’m not sure if it was a slip on their part, but their 7 July 2021 statement refers to “the COVID-19 cases at AEON Bandar Utama“. That would suggest that there may been COVID-19 cases in AEON 1 Utama.

Recommended : 1 Utama : No Delta Variant COVID-19 Infections!

AEON 1 Utama : Official Statements On COVID-19 Concerns!

Here is the official 4 July 2021 statement by AEON 1 Utama on their closure.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Value Customers and Business Partners

YOUR SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY

With your best interest at heart, AEON Bandar Utama in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor is undergoing a full sanitisation exercise as part of precautionary measure, thus it is closed for three days from 5 July 2021 until 7 July 2021.

The health and well-being of our employees, customers and business partners are our utmost priority. We will continue to observe stringent adherence to MKN guidelines and comply fully with preventive measures set by the Ministry of Health.

The strict adherence is necessary in our effort to create a safe environment for everyone and effectively operate in the new normal.

We appreciate your continuous support and look forward to providing you with AEON’s excellent service standard when we resume operations.

Thank you, take care and stay safe. #KitaJagaKita #PatuhiSOP.

The Management
AEON CO. (M) BHD

4 July 2021

And here is the official 7 July 2021 statement by AEON on their reopening and the rumours of Delta variants in the COVID-19 cases at AEON 1 Utama.

AEON Bandar Utama
7 July 2021

Dear Valued Customers,

AEON Bandar Utama has taken measures to voluntarily close for three days from 5 July 2021. To ensure the safety and well-being of our customers and employees, the outlet is undergoing a comprehensive sanitisation exercise as part of SOPs. As part of the exercise, we had also performed a full swab test on the employees. With these actions taken and the guidance from the respective authorities, we will be reopening on 8 July 2021.

We would also like to respond to the current circulation of information going around social media and WhatsApp groups.

MOH has informed us that that [sic] they have no knowledge of any information regarding the Delta strain in the COVID-19 cases at AEON Bandar Utama as claimed, and that all rumours are from unverified sources.

We are committed in continuing to be transparent and upfront in our communication to ensure our customers and community are well-informed in curbing the spread of COVID-19.

AEON 1 Utama COVID-19 Concerns : Should You Be Worried?

If you visited AEON 1 Utama on or before 4 July 2021, you may be contacted by the Malaysia Ministry of Health if you are identified as a close contact.

If you are identified as a close contact, you will then be asked to immediately self-quarantine and get yourself tested for COVID-19.

There is NO NEED to get tested for COVID-19, unless you have been identified as a close contact.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is easily destroyed by soap, so the deep cleaning operation will definitely clean the outlet of any infectious particles.

But most important of all – we need to remember to always wear a face mask in public. Face masks have been proven to prevent the spread and reduce the risk of being infected.

1 Utama : No Delta Variant COVID-19 Infections!

Were Delta variant COVID-19 infections detected at AEON 1 Utama, or the 1 Utama Shopping Centre?

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Rumour : 50+ Delta Variant COVID-19 Cases @ AEON 1 Utama!

Unverified rumours of over 50 cases of COVID-19 in AEON 1 Utama have circulated on WhatsApp for several days :

According to a friend … Aeon 1U, there are 50+ staff & customers infected with covid positive cases … Those who have been to 1U last few days are advise to go for Covid test …

Don’t go shopping at 1 Utama as there’s a Delta cluster there.

A friend

Apparently there are 50+ staff & customers infected with covid positive cases… Those who have been to 1U last few days are advised to go for Covid test …

They have confirmed that cases in Aeon bandar Utama is Delta Variant.

The Delta variant has been a real concern globally, because it is much more infectious and has been shown to be partially resistant to vaccines.

Recommended : Why Delta Variant Causes MORE Breakthrough Infections!

1 Utama : No Delta Variant COVID-19 Infections!

We earlier reported on the rumours of the 50+ COVID-19 cases, when AEON shut down their 1 Utama outlet for three days.

At that time, AEON only stated that their 1 Utama outlet was being closed for “a full sanitisation exercise as part of precautionary measure“.

Their statement, which was not posted in their Facebook page, avoided any mention of COVID-19.

On 7 July 2021, 1 Utama announced that “there is NO confirmed DELTA variant case” at their shopping mall.

However, 1 Utama did not refute the rumours of 50+ COVID-19 cases at their shopping mall recently.

So we can only deduce that AEON 1 Utama was shut down over COVID-19 concerns. Whether there are 50 cases or no cases at all – there’s no way to know.

All we can now confirm is that – no Delta variant case has been reported at the 1 Utama Shopping Centre.

1 Utama Statement Refuting Delta Variant Claim

Here is the official statement by 1 Utama refuting claims that there was a Delta variant cluster at their shopping mall :

Dear All, we refer to the various messages and unverified rumours circulating over social media and WhatsApp regarding staff and customers being infected with the COVID DELTA variant at 1 Utama.

We wish to state that this is FAKE NEWS and that there is NO confirmed DELTA variant case reported at 1 Utama to date after checking with the Health Department in charge of Petaling District.

We understand that everyone is worried but please stay calm and DO NOT FORWARD unverified messages and rumours as it will create unnecessary anxiety and panic during this challenging time.

Rest assured, we remains fully compliant with all required SOPs to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees, shoppers and tenants. This includes frequent cleaning and sanitisation using hospital grade disinfectants as well as purifying indoor air with comprehensive air filtration systems and UV lights.

Lastly, we urge everyone to adhere to the routine SOP’s and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene so that we could keep each other safe.

Thank you for your continuous support.

Scam Alert : COVID-19 Relief Fund By Federal Government!

Please watch out for the COVID-19 Relief Fund by Federal Government scam!

Find out why it is just a SCAM, and WARN your family and friends!

Scam Alert : COVID-19 Relief Fund By Federal Government!

People are now sharing this COVID-19 RELIEF FUND message on WhatsApp :

Apply For The Covid-19 Relief Fund Provided By The Federal Government. Hurry Up, It takes few seconds to apply. Dont [sic] miss this opportunity.

Apply Here

Note : I added the Scam Alert overlay to prevent it from being further abused.

COVID-19 Relief Fund : Why This Is A Scam

I know many of us are in dire straits during this COVID-19 pandemic, having lost jobs, income or even loved ones. Unfortunately, scammers are counting on our desperation to prey on us.

I will now show you why this COVID-19 Relief Fund message is just another scam. Please warn your family and friends!

Fact #1 : No Global Relief Fund By Any Federal Government

When a scam tells you that “the federal government” is giving away money, you should always ask yourself – WHICH federal government???

No government in the world is giving away money to anyone across the world. Not even the three richest economies in the world – US, China and the EU – have a COVID-19 relief fund to give money away like that.

Fact #2 : The Three Questions Are A Red Herring

Most of these scams employ simple but useless questions to trick you into thinking that this is genuine. Look at the three questions this scam is asking :

  • What’s your age range?
  • How much money do you want to receive?
  • What’s your employment status?

In a real government relief programme, your eligibility status will be based on some official document – your identity card, driver’s licence, passport, etc.

No one is going to give you money simply because you answer a few questions. And NO ONE is ever going to ask you how much you want to receive!

Fact #3 : No Government Will Ask You To Invite Friends / Groups

A real government relief programme will NEVER ask you to invite friends and groups on WhatsApp, much less insist that you invite 15 friends or 5 groups before they give you money.

That’s a dead giveaway that this is a scam, and the scammers want you to help them scam other people. So NEVER invite your friends to join the scam.

Fact #4 : SNF Global Relief Initiative Is Not By Any Federal Government

To make the scam look legit, the scammers used the SNF Global Relief Initiative for the COVID-19 Pandemic graphics.

That initiative is not by any government, but by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

And just in case you are wondering, no, the SNF does not give away money to individuals. They only make grants to non-profit organisations and collaborative funds.

Fact #5 : The Domain Is New + Protected

If you check the domain “relief-fund.live“, you will see that it was only created on 24 March 2021.

Even more suspiciously, all contact and ownership details have been REDACTED FOR PRIVACY. That’s often a sign that the owners are worried about being sued or prosecuted.

Fact #6 : The Comments Are Completely Faked

You may notice a bunch of comments at the bottom of the scam website. They are only there to trick you into thinking that other people received the money.

Try refreshing them. They will never change, unlike a real live comment stream. The time codes will not change either.

Try clicking on the Like option. Nothing will happen. Your Like will not register.

That’s because this is a fake comment stream. It’s all hardcoded and fixed.

Now that you know that this is just another scam, please warn your family and friends.

And please remember – no one gives away money like that. Don’t fall for these scams!

Netizen Power : Deputy Speaker Admits To Durian Party!

Netizens won again – their crowdsourced fact-checking confirmed that the Batu Pahat durian party did indeed happen a few days ago!

Take a look at how they debunked the Deputy Speaker’s claims, and forced him to admit that the durian party really happened!

Batu Pahat Durian Party : What’s Going On?

Batu Pahat MP Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon, who is also the Deputy Speaker, was seen in a video clip enjoying a durian party with a large group of people, without face masks or social distancing.

Malaysians were naturally outraged by the video, which obviously contravened the MCO 3.0 SOP.

When asked about it, Mohd Rashid claimed that the video was from 2020, before the Movement Control Order was initiated.

On 30 June 2021, the Deputy Speaker “gave up”, admitted that the video was new, and apologised for what he labelled as confusion over what transpired.

“I apologise for the confusion that arose when media contacted me to ask about the video at a farm and I replied without first watching the video.”

“After my audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong yesterday, only then I had the time to analyse the video involving me.”

“It so happened at the time there was a working visit by minister Zuraida Kamaruddin to Batu Pahat. We gifted durians to the minister’s entourage to take home.”

“When I arrived at the farm, the durian farm owner served us (durians). I had a little bit while discussing with the farm owner on the measures of help that can be channelled.”

He apologised again for his oversight, and said that he would cooperate with the police, who said that they will investigate the matter.

How Netizens Proved Batu Pahat Durian Party Happened In June 2021!

When Mohd Rashid first said that the video was old, Malaysian netizens did not take his explanation very well.

They immediately set out to fact check his claim that the video happened in 2020.

Mohd Rashi was photographed with Datuk Hajah Zuraida Kamaruddin at the Batu Pahat City Council on 27 June 2021.

The same people were later seen in the video enjoying the durian party at a farm in Batu Pahat.

In the picture on the left, this netizen shared how the Liverpool jersey worn by this man had the Nike brand and EPL gold patch, and could only be from the 2020/21 season.

In the picture on the right, this netizen shared how one lady in the video was wearing a Fareha headscarf called Reyna, that was only released this year.

Steel scaffolding from the DASH highway under construction collapsed today, injuring two workers!

Here is what we know so far…

DASH Highway Scaffolding Collapsed, Injuring Two Workers!

At around 7 PM today (19 June 2021), steel scaffolding from the DASH highway under construction near the Kota Damansara toll of the NKVE highway collapsed.

PROLINTAS Statement On DASH Scaffolding Collapse

PROLINTAS, the developer of the DASH highway, issued a stop work order, and their ERT (Emergency Response Team) had already started to remove the debris.

Here is our English translation of the PROLINTAS statement on the incident :

STEEL SCAFFOLDING COLLAPSE INCIDENT AT HIGHWAY UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Kuala Lumpur, 19 June 2021 – Project Lintasan Damansara-Shah Alam Sdn. Bhd., the developer for the DASH (Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Highway) construction project confirms that there was an incident where steel scaffolding fell inside the DASH construction area near Kota Damansara late this afternoon.

In that incident, two Bangladeshi workers suffered injuries and were brought to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment. The incident did not involve highway users or the public because it happened within a closed construction area. The DASG Emergency Response Team (ERT) was on site to control traffic and remove the steel scaffolding.

Did Man Die From COVID-19 Contaminated Package?

Did a 20 year-old man die from COVID-19 after contracting it from a contaminated package?

Find out what’s this new viral story (pun intended!) and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Man Dies From COVID-19 Contaminated Package!

[29/05, 11:29 pm] My son, in Kuantan just passed away from covid. He was only 20 yrs old. He only had headache which he thought was migraine (3 hours) and took panandol but after 2 hours he died at home. No other symptoms at all but just headache. Fortunately my hubby and I had been vaccinated so not affeted at all. He is a student and study only at home. Never go anywhere. He got it because he took a courier package. The courier guy who stay in Batu 10 kuantan had covid . after my son death then forensic check only know he died from covid. Both of them wore mask. The courier guy is now in icu. Stage 4. Thats why now it has spread everywhere in Kuantan. [29/05, 11:29 pm] Kalau terima barang Dr kurier jgn terus ambil jemur dulu atau gantung d pagar sb kita ta tahu kurier ada covid ke tak
HATI-HATI……….

Hati2 bila kurier hantar barang.. (cdg: biarkan 1 jam+ dan basuh dettol)

From someone in Subang SS17 chat group:-
My neighbour’s son, Chan in Kuantan Taman Tas just passed away from covid. He was only 20 yrs old. He only had headache which he thought was migraine (3 hours) and took panandol but after 2 hours he died at home. No other symptoms at all but just headache. Fortunately his parent had been vaccinated so not affeted at all. He is student and study only at his house. Never go anywhere. He got it because he took a courier package. The courier guy who stay in Batu 10 kuantan had covid . after chan death then forensic check only know he died from covid. Both of them wore mask. The courier guy is now in icu.h Stage 4. Thats why now it has spread everywhere in Kuantan.

Beware, make sure you sanitize every parcel, letter or delivered foods package upon receiving.

No! He Did NOT Die From COVID-19 Contaminated Package!

Like 95% of what you read on social media, this is yet another piece of fake news. Here are the FACTS…

Fact #1 : No 20 Year-Old Man Was Brought In Dead In Pahang

Our sister site, The Rojak Pot has a running list of all COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia.

If you search the list, you will see that only two 20 year-old males died in Malaysia :

  • Case 252679 : 20 year-old Malaysian male, who passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.
  • Death #2417 : 20 year-old Malaysian male from KL, who passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor.

As you can see, neither died in Pahang, and they both died in a hospital. Neither were brought in dead to the hospital.

Fact #2 : Pahang Health Department Called It Fake News

On 30 May 2021, the Pahang State Department denied that a 20 year-old man from Taman Tan passed away from COVID-19.

The Pahang State Health director, Datuk Dr. Bahari Che Awang Ngah said that only 58 people died in Pahang, and the youngest was a 23 year-old man.

He also said that the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital did not receive any BID (Brought In Dead) cases involving individuals in their 20s.

Fact #3 :  Fomite Transmission Is Rare

Early studies show that the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 can persist on surfaces for a long time.

However, later quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) studies show that the risk of getting infected through contact with contaminated surfaces / objects (fomites) is low.

How low? Generally, less than 1 in 10,000 contacts with a contaminated surface will result in a COVID-19 infection.

While not impossible, it is much harder to get infected from touching contaminated surfaces or objects, because you have to then touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your contaminated hands to get infected.

That is likely why there have been no COVID-19 clusters attributed to packages / parcels delivered by couriers or mail services.

Fact #4 :  COVID-19 Primarily Spreads Through People

The SARS-CoV-2 virus primarily spreads through droplets, as well as through aerosol, from infected people. It does not spread by touch.

Hence, the best policy for courier or mail services is to insist that EVERYONE must wear a face mask.

This prevents direct transmission by droplets, and greatly cuts down on aerosols. And best of all – it prevents the parcels and packages from being contaminated!

If everyone wears a face mask, fomites – contaminated surfaces or objects – will be virtually non-existent.

Fact #5 :  COVID-19 Is Easily Destroyed By Soap!

While Dettol can kill the SARS-CoV-2 virus, there is no need to go to such extremes. Simple soap and water will destroy the virus!

If you are super worried about contaminated packages, just wiped them down (if they’re wrapped in plastic) with soapy water, or alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

Recommended : Soap vs Sanitiser : Which Works Better Against COVID-19?

Fact #6 :  You Can’t Get Contaminated If You Sanitise Your Hands!

Instead of worrying so much about getting your hands contaminated with COVID-19, just sanitise them!

You can’t get COVID-19 from contaminated surfaces if you keep your hands clean!

Just wash your hands with soap and water after opening the parcel, or sanitise them using hand sanitiser (with at least 60% alcohol).

This isn’t just my advice, this is what the US CDC recommends too!

All these fake Facebook pages appear to promote the Herbal Visual Tea by Li Tianfa, who also goes by the name Tianfa Lee.

So why is this Herbal Visual Tea a scam? Here are the facts…

Fact #1 : Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology Warned About This Scam

On 5 January 2021, the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology reported these scam posts to the police, Facebook and MCMC.

The Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology has been made aware of malicious scammers who have cut and pasted our committee members and other members photos to be used to promote dubious fake eye products or services . We have reported these posts to the Police , Facebook and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) . Please do not respond to these scammers .

That didn’t stop these scammers, who continued to create new fake Facebook pages to promote Herbal Visual Tea.

On 21 May 2021, MSO again warned about these scammers.

The Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology (MSO) strongly condemns the action of certain irresponsible parties who misuse official images from our Society, seemingly endorsing certain health products of dubious benefits. The health claims are callous, misleading and without any sound evidence.

The public is advised against purchasing these products of unknown entity. Existing patients with eye conditions should always consult their eye doctor before stopping their existing medications or trying these alternative treatments.

The Society appreciates those who have notified us of these ads. Please help us to report these ads to Facebook so that we can stop others from being duped into buying these products.

Fact #2 : Those Fancy Associations Do NOT Exist!

This Li Tianfa / Tianfa Lee claims to have a TON of titles, but if you check them online, these organisations do not really exist!

  • International Exchange Center for Traditional Complementary Medicine : Does Not Exist!
  • Academic Association of Ophthalmology of Malaysian Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine : Does Not Exist!
  • Malaysia Association of Chinese Medicine : Does Not Exist!
  • Professional Chinese Acupuncture Association of Malaysia : Does Not Exist!
  • Indy International University, Malaysia : Does Not Exist!
  • Miaofa Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital : Does Not Exist!

There is a Center for International Exchange of Traditional Chinese Medicine, but he is not listed amongst its many consultants and lecturers.

Malaysian Chinese Medical Association exists, but he is not even in its committee, never mind one of its NINE Vice Presidents!

INTI International University exists, but he does not appear to be in their faculty list.

There is a Miao Fa TCM 妙法中醫 store, but it is a traditional Chinese medicine store, not a hospital!

Fact #3 : Dr. Li Tianfa Disavowed The Product!

Here is the kicker – Dr. Li Tianfa is the owner of Miao Fa TCM, and he declared that the Herbal Visual Tea is a SCAM!

Clarification! Clarification! Clarification!
Scammers are misusing my identity!
I, Dr. Li Tianfa would like to clarify, and solemnly declare that this Herbal Visual Tea is not my product!!!
Please don’t be! fooled!!
Our Facebook page is miaofa tcm!!!

So please do NOT blame Dr. Li Tianfa. He appears to be an innocent victim of these scammers, just like all those who were fooled into purchasing the Herbal Visual Tea.

Fact #4 : There Is No Proof This Tea Cures Anything

The Herbal Visual Tea consists of common ingredients like longan, chrysanthemum, honeysuckle, cassia seed, wolfberry, Galli gigeriae endothelium corneum, black sesame and mulberry.

Pretty much ingredients you can buy at any traditional Chinese medicine store!

There is simply NO EVIDENCE that such a concoction can cure glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, optic atrophy, fundus lesions, retinal detachment, vitreous body turbidity, floaters, presbyopia, astigmatism, hyperopia, night blindness and more that the scammers are claiming!

This Visual Herbal Tea is nothing more than a SCAM! Please warn your family and friends!

ICU Crisis : Klang Valley ICUs Now At 113% Capacity!

We have an ICU crisis in Malaysia – ICUs in the Klang Valley are now at 113% capacity!

Find out what’s going on, and what we can do to prevent this ICU crisis from escalating!

ICU Crisis : Klang Valley ICUs Now At 113% Capacity!

The Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) has warned us about this for some time now, and the day has arrived when our ICUs are all full.

On 22 May 2021, the Director General of Health, Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that ICU usage in the Klang Valley has reached 113%!

The worst affected hospitals are Kajang Hospital and Banting Hospital, with 317% and 200% ICU occupancy!

Just take a look at these shocking statistics!

Hospitals Total ICU
Bed Capacity
COVID-19
ICU Beds
COVID-19
Patients
COVID-19 ICU
Bed Usage
Sungai Buloh 80 80 89 111%
Selayang 51 33 24 73%
Ampang 23 15 17 113%
Tuanku
Ampuan
Rahimah
51 41 48 117%
Serdang 52 32 55 172%
Shah Alam 18 12 11 92%
Banting 10 4 8 200%
Kajang 8 6 19 317%
Kuala Lumpur 72 64 63 98%
Putrajaya 20 8 7 88%
PPUM 55 32 30 94%
Tuanku Mizan
Military Hospital
12 7 6 86%
TOTAL 452 334 377 113%

ICU Crisis : How Did KKM Expand ICUs Beyond 100%?

You may be wondering how KKM managed to expand hospital ICUs beyond 100%.

Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah announced on 19 May 2021 that they were able to increase the number of ICU beds for COVID-19 patients by repurposing normal wards.

They basically turned normal wards into temporary ICUs by adding ICU equipment to the beds already there. However, ICUs are more than just beds with equipment.

They need to be manned 24 hours a day, with medical staff monitoring patients under their care in three shifts.

So, this is not an ideal situation, but it allows the Health Ministry to avoid turning away patients with severe COVID-19… for now.

Here are pictures of the ICUs in HTAR (Tuanku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital), filled with critical COVID-19 patients.

How To Prevent Escalation Of This ICU Crisis?

We need to help KKM prevent a further escalation of this ICU crisis by STRICTLY enforcing COVID-19 precautions.

  1. Staying home and restricting travel to only what’s essential.
  2. Wear a face mask, preferably N95 or at least a surgical mask, when out in public.
  3. Maintain physical distance of 1-2 metres from strangers.
  4. Maintain good hand hygiene at all times.

Is There A Communist Revolution Monument In Penang?

Pictures of a Chinese Communist Revolution Monument in Penang have gone viral, with calls from netizens to TEAR IT DOWN!

Find out what’s going on, and what the facts really are!

Claim : DAP Created A Communist Monument In Penang!

Pictures of a Chinese Communist Revolution Monument in Penang are being shared on Facebook and social media, with messages like this (translated into English) :

DAP created a Communist monument in Penang after they took power.

Communist monument on Flag Hill in Penang.

What are you waiting for? When are you going to tear it down?

Do You Know?

In Penang, there is a World War II memorial called the Revolution Memorial.

But it’s full of Chinese letters and the figures are all dressed as Communists.

There is absolutely no information in English or Bahasa Melayu, much less Tamil.

When people say it’s racist, [you get] angry

This monument was built as soon as DAP took over Penang from Gerakan.

Here is a selection of comments that were posted with that misleading picture, showing how it instigates hate and racial tensions :

Roboh kan semuanya,, pulau Pinang ialah tanah Melayu,,jgn lupa tu,, DAP memang haprak

Demolish it all. Penang is Malay soil. Don’t forget that. DAP is useless.

Say no to komunis DAP

Puak2 pengkhianat DAP..musoh melayu..musoh islam..

DAP are traitors, enemies of the Malays, enemies of Islam.

Robohkan Tugu peringatan pembunuh anak anak peribumi Melayu. kenapa di iarkan sebegitu rupa di mana anguta dan bekas angguta keselamatan kita boleh biarkan sebegitu rupa…Letupkan !

Destroy the memorial of the killers of Malay natives. Why is it being left like that? How can our security forces let this be? Blow it up!

Communist Revolution Monument In Penang : The Truth

The short version is this – the monument in the pictures exists, but it is neither a Communist monument, nor was it created or built by DAP.

All of the claims about it in the incendiary posts above are FALSE.

We would like to warn everyone to be careful of political fake news being shared to incite hatred and racial tensions.

Fact #1 : That Is The Penang Overseas Chinese Anti-War Memorial

The monument in the picture is the Penang Overseas Chinese Anti-War Memorial Park, also known as the Air Itam War Memorial Park.

It is NOT a Chinese Communist Revolution Monument.

There are two key monuments at this memorial park :

  • a bronze-coloured army supply truck being pushed by three men – memorialising the Nanyang transport volunteers from Malaya, who helped deliver supplies to China when they were blocked by the Japanese.
  • a 45-foot tall white obelisk that commemorates the Marco Polo Incident, that kicked off the Second Sino-Japanese War of 1937-1945.

The ashes of some 800 incomplete skeletons of Penang Chinese residents who died under Japanese occupation, and the Nanyang transport volunteers who died, are also buried under the obelisk.

The truck also has a number plate with the date 1939 on it. Communist China didn’t exist in 1939, so claims that this is a Communist monument is… idiotic.

Fact #2 : It Was Built In 1946 And Opened In 1951

Construction on the Penang Overseas Chinese Anti-War Memorial Park started in 1946, and it was officially opened in 1951.

DAP was only formed on 11 October 1965, so the claim that it was built when DAP gained power in Penang is false.

Because the People’s Republic of China was only established in 1949, the claim that this is a communist revolution monument is idiotic.

It is also extremely stupid to claim that the figures were dressed as Chinese Communists, because Communist China didn’t exist when the monument was being built!

Fact #3 : It Was Privately Funded

The original Penang Overseas Chinese Anti-War Memorial Park was funded entirely by the Penang China Relief Fund, a Penang-based private fundraising organisation.

It was officially opened at 11 AM on 11 November 1951 by Penang Chinese tycoon and philanthropist, Lim Lean Teng, who was the supervisory chairman of the organisation.

After the Penang China Relief Fund was dissolved in 1952, the Kong Min School was entrusted to maintain the memorial with an annual budget of $5,000, and an annual memorial service.

Fact #4 : It Was Upgraded For Its 60th Anniversary

The Board of Trustees of the Kong Min School decided to repair and upgrade the memorial to coincide with its 60th anniversary.

The RM 400,000 project also added a 60 foot-long wall relief showing Malayan transport volunteers on the Burma-China road, and a peace column with flying doves.

On top of private donations by various organisations and individuals, the Penang state government also chipped in.

When it was opened at precisely 11:11 AM on 11 November 2016 by Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng, politicians from both sides of the political divide attended the launch.

Therefore, the claim that no one knew about it, or that it was only something DAP would do, is categorically FALSE.

Photo Credit : The Sun Daily

Fact #5 : There Is Information In FOUR Languages

The memorial park has information in four languages – English, Bahasa Melayu, Chinese and Japanese.

Here is the information panel in English and Bahasa Melayu, proving that the claim there is no information in both languages are FALSE.

Places IDed By HIDE COVID-19 System To Close For 3 Days!

Malaysia has ordered that all places identified by the new HIDE COVID-19 analytics system must close for three days!

Here are the latest details!

HIDE COVID-19 System : What Is It?

The HIDE (Hotspot Identification For Dynamic Engagement) System uses Big Data Analytics (BDA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to predict potential COVID-19 hotspots over a 7-day horizon.

To be clear, the list of places flagged by the HIDE system are NOT actual COVID-19 cluster locations.

Instead, they are the places that the HIDE system predicts COULD soon become COVID-19 cluster locations.

The HIDE system leverages MySejahtera check-ins, and other existing healthcare databases to make these predictions.

HIDE COVID-19 System : What Is It For?

By predicting potential COVID-19 hotpots, the HIDE system basically alerts businesses to either shut down, or quickly take precautions.

Now, premises flagged by the system do NOT need to shut down, unless required by enforcement authorities.

Instead, they are only advised to quickly undertake pre-emptive measures like :

  • Enhance gatekeeping (checking the risk status of MySejahtera check-ins, and deny individuals with ‘high risk’ status from entering);
  • Screen their workers for COVID-19, be it with RTK-Ag or RT-PCR tests; and
  • Enhance crowd control measures, especially areas with tight spaces, or that are prone to overcrowding.

By taking those measures, the risk of becoming a COVID-19 hotspot can be quickly lowered, and these premises will be taken off the HIDE list.

Places IDed By HIDE COVID-19 System To Close For 3 Days!

On 8 May 2021, Malaysia Senior Minister for Security Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaacob announced that all places identified by the new HIDE COVID-19 system must immediately close for three days, from 9 May until 11 May 2021!

Here is the full list of places flagged by the HIDE system as potential COVID-19 hotspots over the next 7 days.

Was Pragya Mishra Killed Over COVID-19 Comments?

Was Indian journalist, Pragya Mishra, murdered in broad daylight after criticising the Kumbh Mela festival for causing the catastrophic COVID-19 surge?

Find out what the viral video of her murder showed, and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Pragya Mishra Killed In Broad Daylight Over COVID-19 Comments!

Two videos and a photo are going viral on WhatsApp, claiming that Indian journalist Pragya Mishra was killed in broad daylight after she criticised the recent Kumbh Mela festival in India for causing the catastrophic surge in COVID-19.

The first video showed the news segment in which Pragya Mishra talked about the Kumbh Mela and the COVID-19 tsunami.

The second video was CCTV footage showing a woman getting stabbed by a man in broad daylight.

The videos are accompanied by one or two pictures showing the woman lying in a pool of blood, with one of these messages :

An Indian broadcaster who spoke against unhealthy Hindu gatherings and the spread of Corona disease was assassinated publicly.

Pragya mishra murdered in broad daylight

Because she was talking in news about kumbh mela in the era of cornavirus

No! Pragya Mishra Was NOT Killed Over COVID-19 Comments!

This is yet another COVID-19 related hoax. Pragya Mishra is alive and well.

It has been suggested that the fake news was created as a kind of warning to Pragya Mishra –  watch what you are saying about Hindus and the Kumbh Mela, or else…

That is something we cannot prove, but here are the facts that we can prove…

Fact #1 : Pragya Mishra Is Alive And Well

These videos and photos first circulated on or just before 18 April 2021.

At that time, Pragya Mishra was at home because of “COVID-19 protocols”. When she was informed about the videos and photos, she tweeted that she was safe.

As of 30 April 2021, she’s still active on her Twitter account, @PragyaLive.

Fact #2 : Second Video Was Of A Real Murder

Unfortunately, the second video is genuine, and shows the murder of a real woman on 10 April 2021.

It was not Pragya Mishra, but a 26 year-old lady called Neelu Mehta, who worked at the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.

She was stabbed and murdered in broad daylight by her husband, Harish Mehta, an employee of the Marriage Bureau.

Allegedly, he suspected his newly-wed wife of eight months of infidelity, and stabbed her to death. Even after she died, he continued stabbing her.

Sadly, no one intervened or tried to help her.
