Did Trump propose death penalty for pro-Palestine protestors?!

Did Donald Trump just call for the death penalty for pro-Palestine protestors?! Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : Trump Proposed Death Penalty For Pro-Palestine Protestors!

People are sharing an article (archive) by The People’s Voice (formerly NewsPunch), which claimed that Donald Trump just called for the death penalty for pro-Palestine college campus protestors!

Here is an excerpt of the long and (intentionally?) confusing article. Feel free to skip to the next section for the facts!

‘Raging Lunatics’: Trump Proposes Death Penalty For Pro-Palestine Campus Protesters

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has called for the death penalty for pro-Palestine college campus protesters, describing them as “raging lunatics and Hamas sympathizers,” and declaring “we can’t let them do this to our country.”

Recommended : Will Bill C-63 jail those who ever posted hate speech online?!

Truth : Trump Did Not Propose Death Penalty For Pro-Palestine Protestors!

This is yet another example of fake news created / promoted by The People’s Voice, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Trump Did Not Propose Death Penalty For Pro-Palestine Supporters!

Let me start by quickly pointing out that Donald Trump did not call for the death penalty for pro-Palestine college campus protestors!

If he actually said that, it would have been widely reported all over the world, and condemned by both Republicans and Democrats, as well as independents alike. Yet no legitimate media outlet reported such a shocking development… because it never happened!

Unsurprisingly, The People’s Voice never provided any evidence that Donald Trump called for the death penalty for pro-Palestine college campus protestors!

Fact #2 : Trump Death Penalty Quote Was From 2018!

The truth is – The People’s Voice used a 2018 quote by Donald Trump, who called for the death penalty right after a gunman killed 11 people at a synagogue in Pittsburgh on October 27, 2018.

Hours later, Trump called for the death penalty for the gunman, Robert Bowers, while campaigning for Rep. Mike Bost in Illinois that same day.

Through the centuries, the Jews have endured terrible persecution. You know that. We’ve all read it. We’ve studied it. They’ve gone through a lot. Those seeking [the Jews] destruction, we will seek their destruction.

And when you have crimes like this, whether it’s this one or another one on another group, we have to bring back the death penalty. They have to pay the ultimate price. They have to pay the ultimate price. They can’t do this. They can’t do this to our country. We must draw a line in the sand and say very strongly: Never again.

– Donald Trump, October 27, 2018, Illinois

To be clear – Trump made those remarks about Robert Bowers in 2018, and not about the pro-Palestine campus college protestors!

Fact #3 : The People’s Voice Is Known For Fake News

The People’s Voice is the current name for NewsPunch, which possibly changed its name because its brand has been so thoroughly discredited after posting numerous shocking but fake stories.

Founded as Your News Wire in 2014, it was rebranded as NewsPunch in November 2018, before becoming The People’s Voice. A 2017 BuzzFeed report identified NewsPunch as the second-largest source of popular fake news on Facebook that year.

Its articles have been regularly debunked as fake news, so you should never share anything from NewsPunch / The People’s Voice.  Here are some of its fake stories that I fact checked earlier:

Apple Education Discount Now Requires UNiDAYS Verification!

The little loophole is now closed – Apple education discount now requires UNiDAYS verification!

Here is what you need to know…

Apple Education Discount : Formerly Based On Trust + Audit

For many years now, savvy parents and techies have counted on the Apple education discount to get some financial relief on Mac computers and iPad tablets.

Ostensibly limited to teachers and staff of educational facilities, as well as college and university students, the Apple education discount programme was based on trust.

Anyone can go to the Apple Education page, and order a Mac computer or iPad tablet with (usually) a 10% discount. Apple doesn’t even ask you to prove your qualification for the education discount.

Instead, Apple performs random audits. If you cannot prove that you are an educator, or a college/university student, then they have the right to charge your credit card for the education discount you (illegally) received earlier.

Apple Education Discount Now Requires UNiDAYS Verification!

Sadly, it appears that Apple is moving away from the trust system, and is requiring verification through UNiDAYS in certain countries.

  • France
  • Germany
  • India
  • Italy
  • South Korea
  • Spain
  • Malaysia : Started on 15 December 2021
  • United Kingdom

Unlike the earlier Apple education discount programme, UNiDAYS verification greatly limits those who qualify for discounted Apple Mac computers and iPad tablets :

  • Students who are 16 years and above
  • Must be currently enrolled in the Sixth Form, a college or a university
  • Must have a personal institution email address (.edu email, for example), or a credit card-style student ID, issued by the school / college / university

The Good

Signing up for UNiDAYS has some advantages. It gives you access to discount programmes for other companies.

And students who sign up for UNiDAYS will get a free Apple Music student subscription in certain countries, which may even include Apple TV+ access!

The Bad

Parents cannot sign up and purchase for their children. Each student must sign up for their own UNiDAYS account.

If UNiDAYS cannot automatically verify your student credentials, it has a manual process but that could mean several days of delay to verify your account.

The Ugly

The UNiDAYS verification process blocks parents of younger students from getting the education discount.

Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, parents are forced to purchase tablets and laptops for their children’s online classes. While not entirely legit, the Apple education discount has helped many parents alleviate the high cost of providing each child with a tablet or computer.

While this verification process will help Apple cut down on fraud, I wish they would take the opportunity to open up the education discount programme to younger students.

That would really be a win-win situation – parents get a small but much appreciated discount, and Apple gets a head start on developing the next-generation of Apple users.

Until then, parents of younger children can “work around” this limitation, by asking a college / university student to help them make the purchase.

Countries Where Apple Education Discount Do Not Require UNiDAYS!

This switch to UNiDAYS verification for the Apple Education Discount programme appears to be a gradual process.

For now, these countries still do not require UNiDAYS verification :

  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • China
  • Hong Kong
  • Ireland
  • Japan
  • Mexico
  • New Zealand
  • Philippines
  • Russia
  • Singapore
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • United States

So parents of younger children in those countries can still get the Apple Education discount, without jumping through the UNiDAYS hoop.

Pro Tip : When purchasing any Mac computer or iPad with the Apple Education discount, make sure you grab all the accessories you need at the same time, to get the discount as well.

IPK Founder Choo Chuan Sin Died From Pfizer Booster Dose?

Did Mr. Choo Chuan Sin – the founder of IPK College – die from the Pfizer booster dose, after taking the Sinovac vaccine?

Let’s take a look at the viral claims, and see what we can find out!

Claim : IPK Founder Choo Chuan Sin Died From Pfizer Booster Dose!

Netizens are sharing messages claiming that IPK College Founder Choo Chuan Sin just died from the Pfizer booster dose, after taking the Sinovac vaccine.

Mr Choo, a member of Hash House Harrier took 1st & 2nd jabs of Sinovac. Took Pfizer booster on 19 Nov. Died 22 Nov. Only 56 years of age.

There are two more messages circulating on Telegram, WhatsApp, etc. so just skip to the next section for the facts…

IPK Founder Choo Chuan Sin Did NOT Die From Pfizer Booster Dose!

Frankly speaking, I’m not in the habit of delving into people’s private matters, especially sensitive affairs like the untimely passing of someone’s husband and father.

But so many people were asking me to fact check it because the messages went viral, I had no choice but to put a stop to it.

Now, I am not about to ask his brother Andrew, during this difficult time, to confirm whether his father died from the Pfizer booster dose or not.

But here are my reasons why it is simply not possible for IPK College founder Choo Chuan Sin to have died from the Pfizer booster dose…

Reason #1 : His Son Did Not Mention Vaccines At All

Mr. Choo Chuan Sin’s brother, Andrew Choo, posted publicly about his father’s death, but did not mention anything about vaccines being related to this death.

If vaccines caused his father’s death, you would have expected him to publicly denounce the vaccines, as some people have done.

IN LOVING MEMORY
CHOO CHUAN SIN
1965 – 2021

With heavy hearts, the Choo family regrets to announce the passing of our beloved
Choo Chuan Sin on November 22, 2021.

His generous heart, love and kind spirit will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral will be on Thursday morning
November 25, 2021.

Due to the current severity of the COVID situation, we will take safety measures to keep everyone safe and the ceremony simple.

Thank you!

Remark: Funeral has been recheduled 26/11/21 FRIDAY (Morning)

Reason #2 : Pfizer Vaccine Cannot Cause Lung Infection

It is NOT POSSIBLE for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to cause a lung infection, because it does not contain any infectious agent.

Once it is injected into the upper arm, the vaccine triggers the immune system to produce antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

It cannot travel to the lungs and turn into viruses or bacteria.

Reason #3 : Pfizer Vaccine Does Not Contain Bacteria

It may seem silly, but I have to point out that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine does not contain any bacteria, so it is not possible for it to cause bacterial infections of any kind.

It is not possible for the hospital to blame the Pfizer booster dose for a bacterial infection of the lung, because that’s simply nonsense.

Reason #4 : Mixing Vaccines Is Safe

Vaccines are self-defence classes for our immune system, so mixing vaccines (heterologous vaccination) is like taking different martial arts classes.

Nevertheless, heterologous vaccination was tested and proven to be safe and more effective than homologous vaccination in several studies, before it was approved in many countries.

Reason #5 : Pfizer Booster Dose Taken Months After Sinovac Vaccine

Once injected, COVID-19 vaccines do not stay long in the body. After they trigger the immune system, they are gone within 2-3 days.

Here in Malaysia, the Pfizer booster dose is only offered more than 3 months after a person received the second dose of the Sinovac vaccine.

So it is simply not possible for the Pfizer booster dose to “react” with the Sinovac vaccine. The Sinovac vaccine was long gone (for at least 3 months) before Mr. Choo received his Pfizer booster dose.

Read more : Latest COVID-19 Booster Dose Policy For Malaysia!

Here is my verdict – this is yet another example of antivaxxers abusing someone’s death to push their narrative.

Antivaxxers have a big problem – BILLIONS of people have been vaccinated, and are not dying in droves as they claim. So they have to make up stories to scare people into avoiding the vaccine.

Antivaxxers do NOT care about your health, or your family’s lives. Protect yourself and your family – get vaccinated against COVID-19!
