Is There A Communist Revolution Monument In Penang?

Is There A Communist Revolution Monument In Penang?

Pictures of a Chinese Communist Revolution Monument in Penang have gone viral, with calls from netizens to TEAR IT DOWN!

Find out what’s going on, and what the facts really are!

Claim : DAP Created A Communist Monument In Penang!

Pictures of a Chinese Communist Revolution Monument in Penang are being shared on Facebook and social media, with messages like this (translated into English) :

DAP created a Communist monument in Penang after they took power.

Communist monument on Flag Hill in Penang.

What are you waiting for? When are you going to tear it down?

Do You Know?

In Penang, there is a World War II memorial called the Revolution Memorial.

But it’s full of Chinese letters and the figures are all dressed as Communists.

There is absolutely no information in English or Bahasa Melayu, much less Tamil.

When people say it’s racist, [you get] angry

This monument was built as soon as DAP took over Penang from Gerakan.

Here is a selection of comments that were posted with that misleading picture, showing how it instigates hate and racial tensions :

Roboh kan semuanya,, pulau Pinang ialah tanah Melayu,,jgn lupa tu,, DAP memang haprak

Demolish it all. Penang is Malay soil. Don’t forget that. DAP is useless.

Say no to komunis DAP

Puak2 pengkhianat DAP..musoh melayu..musoh islam..

DAP are traitors, enemies of the Malays, enemies of Islam.

Robohkan Tugu peringatan pembunuh anak anak peribumi Melayu. kenapa di iarkan sebegitu rupa di mana anguta dan bekas angguta keselamatan kita boleh biarkan sebegitu rupa…Letupkan !

Destroy the memorial of the killers of Malay natives. Why is it being left like that? How can our security forces let this be? Blow it up!

Communist Revolution Monument In Penang : The Truth

The short version is this – the monument in the pictures exists, but it is neither a Communist monument, nor was it created or built by DAP.

All of the claims about it in the incendiary posts above are FALSE.

We would like to warn everyone to be careful of political fake news being shared to incite hatred and racial tensions.

Fact #1 : That Is The Penang Overseas Chinese Anti-War Memorial

The monument in the picture is the Penang Overseas Chinese Anti-War Memorial Park, also known as the Air Itam War Memorial Park.

It is NOT a Chinese Communist Revolution Monument.

There are two key monuments at this memorial park :

  • a bronze-coloured army supply truck being pushed by three men – memorialising the Nanyang transport volunteers from Malaya, who helped deliver supplies to China when they were blocked by the Japanese.
  • a 45-foot tall white obelisk that commemorates the Marco Polo Incident, that kicked off the Second Sino-Japanese War of 1937-1945.

The ashes of some 800 incomplete skeletons of Penang Chinese residents who died under Japanese occupation, and the Nanyang transport volunteers who died, are also buried under the obelisk.

The truck also has a number plate with the date 1939 on it. Communist China didn’t exist in 1939, so claims that this is a Communist monument is… idiotic.

Fact #2 : It Was Built In 1946 And Opened In 1951

Construction on the Penang Overseas Chinese Anti-War Memorial Park started in 1946, and it was officially opened in 1951.

DAP was only formed on 11 October 1965, so the claim that it was built when DAP gained power in Penang is false.

Because the People’s Republic of China was only established in 1949, the claim that this is a communist revolution monument is idiotic.

It is also extremely stupid to claim that the figures were dressed as Chinese Communists, because Communist China didn’t exist when the monument was being built!

Fact #3 : It Was Privately Funded

The original Penang Overseas Chinese Anti-War Memorial Park was funded entirely by the Penang China Relief Fund, a Penang-based private fundraising organisation.

It was officially opened at 11 AM on 11 November 1951 by Penang Chinese tycoon and philanthropist, Lim Lean Teng, who was the supervisory chairman of the organisation.

After the Penang China Relief Fund was dissolved in 1952, the Kong Min School was entrusted to maintain the memorial with an annual budget of $5,000, and an annual memorial service.

Fact #4 : It Was Upgraded For Its 60th Anniversary

The Board of Trustees of the Kong Min School decided to repair and upgrade the memorial to coincide with its 60th anniversary.

The RM 400,000 project also added a 60 foot-long wall relief showing Malayan transport volunteers on the Burma-China road, and a peace column with flying doves.

On top of private donations by various organisations and individuals, the Penang state government also chipped in.

When it was opened at precisely 11:11 AM on 11 November 2016 by Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng, politicians from both sides of the political divide attended the launch.

Therefore, the claim that no one knew about it, or that it was only something DAP would do, is categorically FALSE.

Photo Credit : The Sun Daily

Fact #5 : There Is Information In FOUR Languages

The memorial park has information in four languages – English, Bahasa Melayu, Chinese and Japanese.

Here is the information panel in English and Bahasa Melayu, proving that the claim there is no information in both languages are FALSE.

Malaysia Approves Sinovac Vaccine Finished By Pharmaniaga!

Malaysia has conditionally approved the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine filled and finished by Pharmaniaga!

Find out this means for the COVID-19 vaccination program in Malaysia!

Malaysia Approves Sinovac Vaccine Finished By Pharmaniaga!

On 23 April 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine finished by Pharmaniaga LifeScience received conditional approval from the NPRA (National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency).

CoronaVac Suspension for Injection COVID-19 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated
Registrant : Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn. Bhd.
Manufacturer : Sinovac Life Sciences Co. Ltd., China

This conditional approval would allow the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine filled and finished by Pharmaniaga LifeScience to be used in the Malaysia COVID-19 vaccination program.

Pharmaniaga Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine : A Quick Primer!

Sinovac CoronaVac an inactivated virus vaccine made from actual SARS-CoV-2 virus grown in Vero cells, and killed using β-propiolactone.

Once injected into the body, the antigens on the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus triggers the body’s immune system.

Pharmaniaga LifeScience imported 200 litres of the CoronaVac bulk vaccine, which arrived on 27 February 2021.

Once bottled, those 200 litres of bulk vaccine should produce over 300,000 CoronaVac doses – enough to vaccinate approximately 150,000 people.

The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin, said that the government is paying Sinovac less for the vaccine because bottling is done by Pharmaniaga.

However, he declined to disclose more information, so it is unknown how much the government is saving, once the costs of Pharmaniaga’s bottling and distribution are included.

Russian Autopsy Confirmed That COVID-19 Is Not A Virus?

Did a Russian autopsy confirm that COVID-19 is not a virus, but a poison that can be cured by existing medicines?

Take a look at this new viral message, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Russian Autopsy Confirmed That COVID-19 Is Not A Virus?

This new WhatsApp message claims that a Russian autopsy has finally proven that COVID-19 is not a virus, but a poison that can be cured by existing medicines.

Latest news:
* Good news to the world … *

* Russia has done a post-mortem autopsy of the Covid-19 patient, a big revelation has occurred. *
Russia became the first country in the world to perform an autopsy (= post mortem) on a corpse of Covid-19 and, after a thorough investigation, discovered that * Covid-19 does not exist as a virus *.

It’s a worldwide scam: * people are dying from “amplified 5G electromagnetic radiation (= poison)”. *

Doctors in Russia have violated the World Health Organization (WHO) law, which does not allow post-mortem autopsies on the bodies of people who have died from Covid-19 to be discovered after a certain time. These doctors made scientific discovery: * we can not assume that it is a virus, but a bacterium that causes death, which causes blood clots to form in the veins and nerves, Cause the death of the patient because of this bacteria. *

Russia has defeated the virus, claiming that “there is nothing but phelia-intravascular coagulation (thrombosis) * and the way to treat it is to cure it”:
1) * Antibiotic pills *
2) * Anti-inflammatory * and
3) * take anticoagulants (= aspirin). *

Russian COVID-19 Autopsy : Complete Bullshit

Like 95% of viral messages on COVID-19 – this is yet another piece of FAKE NEWS based on some facts.

Let’s examine each claim and find out what the facts really are!

Fact #1 : First COVID-19 Autopsy Was Conducted In China

Wuhan was the origin of the COVID-19 epidemic in China, and it was there that the first patients died, and where the first autopsies were conducted.

The forensics team from the Tongji Medical College of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology conducted the first autopsy of a COVID-19 patient on 16 February 2020.

By 24 February 2020, they conducted a total of nine autopsies – the results of which was published in the Journal of Forensic Medicine.

Fact #2 : There Is No WHO Law Forbidding Autopsies

There is no such thing as a WHO law that forbids autopsies of any person who died from COVID-19, or any other disease.

The World Health Organisation is an international advisory body. It has no power over individual countries, and therefore, cannot ban post-mortem autopsies in any country.

In fact, the WHO actually published guidelines on how to perform autopsies and manage the bodies of dead COVID-19 patients.

Fact #3 : COVID-19 Is Caused By SARS-CoV-2

COVID-19 is technically not a virus.

COVID-19 is the disease caused by a novel coronavirus, which was initially called 2019-nCoV, before being officially named as SARS-CoV-2.

Fact #4 : SARS-CoV-2 Is A Real Virus

We know that the SARS-CoV-2 is a real virus, because Chinese scientists isolated it and with the help of the University of Sydney in Australia, released a draft sequence of its genome on 10 January 2020.

The complete genome of approximately 30 kilobytes in length was published on 3 February 2020.

You can look at the entire SARS-CoV-2 viral genome that was released by Chinese scientists here.

SARS-CoV-2 genome diagram. Credit : Rohan Bir Singh, MD

Fact #5 : A Virus Is Not A Bacteria

Any half-decent student of biology can tell you that a virus is not a bacteria. They are completely different.

A virus, for example, is not even a living organism. It is just RNA or DNA encapsulated within a protein or lipid shell, and can only replicate within a host cell.

A bacterium, on the other hand, is a single-celled microorganism that can multiply by itself. It is also much more complex, with intracellular organelles and even extracellular appendages.

SARS-CoV-2 – the COVID-19 coronavirus – is a virus, not a bacterium.

Fact #6 : There Is No Cure For COVID-19 (Right Now)

As of 23 April 2021, there is no cure for COVID-19, only vaccines that can help prevent it.

Antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, or anti-coagulant medication cannot cure COVID-19.

Fact #7 : 5G Does Not Cause COVID-19

There is simply no plausible way for 5G technology to create a new coronavirus out of thin air. Simply put – 5G does not cause COVID-19.

Consider the fact that there are COVID-19 cases in every country around the world, but 5G coverage is extremely sparse.

Take a look at this comparison of worldwide 5G coverage (provided by Ookla) and COVID-19 cases globally.

Can you see the complete lack of correlation?

Fact #8 : COVID-19 Can Cause Blood Clotting

COVID-19 can cause a hypercoagulable state, in which a severe inflammatory response triggers localised blood clotting which can become generalised.

It is especially common in severe COVID-19 disease, and has nothing to do with a bacterium, or 5G radiation.

When a COVID-19 patient presents with blood clots, they are treated with blood thinners like aspirin and heparin.

Fact #9 : Empromax Is An Antibiotic

Empromax is one of the brand names of the antibiotic, Cefpodoxime proxetil. It cannot work against a virus like SARS-CoV-2.

There is no evidence that the Russian Ministry of Health (Minzdrav) is using Empromax to treat COVID-19 patients.

They have temporarily approved certain drugs as COVID-19 treatments, but not Empromax :

  • Favipiravir – antiviral drug that can shorten recovery time
  • Levilimab – to treat cytokine storm

Fact #10 : Russian Ministry Of Health Relying On Vaccines

The Russian Ministry of Health is relying not on medications, because none actually exist to cure COVID-19.

Instead, they are relying on the two COVID-19 vaccines they developed :

  • Sputnik V (Gam-Covid-Vac)
  • EpiVacCorona

Dr. Zhong Nanshan : How To Build Immunity Against COVID?

Dr. Zhong Nanshan – China’s foremost expert on COVID-19 – allegedly introduced five methods to build immunity against COVID-19.

Let’s take a look at the viral advice, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Dr. Zhong Nanshan : How To Build Immunity Against COVID?

This viral message has gone viral on WhatsApp, allegedly advice by Dr. Zhong Nanshan on how to build your immunity against COVID-19.

It has also been shared on Facebook, and posted by blogs hoping to cash in on the COVID-19 panic.

Hi everyone,
Kindly take note of the following practical advice by Dr. Zhong Nanshan (China’s top authority on Covid-19)*.

Dr Zhong predicted that, sooner or early later, the widespread community infection of Covid-19 will be inevitable. This is because there now is increasing numbers of infected people who are asymptomatic but with varying incubation periods moving around undetected.
As the above senerio is almost uncontrollable and unavoidable, it’s now crucial for us to prime our own immune system first.
Dr Zhong has provided 5 methods to enhance our immunity.

Dr Zhong said,
“Your immunity is the best and final solid defence (for Covid-19 infection.)”
Don’t just rely on masks, hand washing, etc alone. These are great preventive measures, but on top of them, everyone still need to build up their own immunity asap.

*How to prime our immune system from now onwards, as soon as possible? *

*Firstly, we must get enough sleep*; we must maintain at least 7 hours of sleep. Those who sleep less than 7 hours a day would have a lowered immunity against infection.

Second, we must eat well; our so-called “eat good” is not about eating delicacies, but *eating wholesome high-quality proteins*, which can be use to produce antibodies.
Remember to strictly control our sugar intake; ingesting excess refined sugar can lead to inactivity of our white blood immunity cells for 5 hours!
Therefore, we have to select and control our diet.

Third, the coronavirus has a preditable propagation mode, it will multiply faster in the cold winter.
So some experts advise us to get more sun exposure which helps increase vitamin D to prime our immunity.

Other experts did a research and published findings that the intake of vitamin D supplements during winter months can reduce respiratory tract infections by two thirds. If you really can’t or don’t bask in the sun, you can also choose to take vitamin D instead.

Fourth, one Russian research found out: in order to avoid upper respiratory tract infection, “You have to rinse and gargle your mouth when you return home after outdoor visits. Why? Because all viruses have the keys to enter our cells; when a virus invades its target cell, it has to first drill holes and knock on doors etc, so it It will take a while to reach and attach the key to the target cell wall to open the gate to enter the target cell and propagate.
So if you are infected outdoor, when you reached home just gargle and flush them out of your mouth.”
At the same time, the Russian researcher also mentioned, “Whether you gargle with; water, salt water, betadine diluted in water, mouthwashs, tea; all these 5 methods work well.

Finally, Dr Zhong also pointed out that studies in Japan, Israel and Finland all showed that: Simply taking a hot bath every day to elevate your body temperature sufficiently would create an unconducive body environment for coronavirus infection.

The research also mentioned that if you take hot bath at 4 times or more each week, virus infection rate can drop to 60%.
Dr Zhong’s advice on this is: Take a hot bath every day. A 41 degrees C and for 5 minutes is good enough!

Please share with your family and friends.

COVID-19 Immunity Advice By Dr. Zhong Nanshan : Bullshit

Like 95% of viral messages on COVID-19 – this is yet another piece of FAKE NEWS based on some facts.

Let’s examine each claim and find out what the facts really are!

Fact #1 : Dr. Zhong Nanshan Is An Expert On COVID-19

First of all, Dr. Zhong Nanshan is not only a real person, he is a key Chinese expert on COVID-19.

In fact, he was the expert who declared that there was “human-to-human transmission” and pushed for China’s massive lockdown that successfully contained the epidemic, at least on Chinese soil.

On 8 September 2020, he was awarded the Medal of the Republic – China’s highest state honour – for his role in fighting the COVID-19 epidemic.

Fact #2 : Dr. Zhong Nanshan Warned Against Natural Immunity

Everything attributed to Dr. Zhong Nanshan regarding building your body’s immunity against COVID-19 are FALSE.

In an online meeting on 2 March 2021, with top American and Chinese public health experts (including Dr. Anthony Fauci), Dr. Zhong Nanshan warned against natural immunity.

He called it “unrealistic, less scientific and inhumane“, and pointed out that 2-3% of those infected would die – that’s 14 to 21 million people globally!

Fact #3 : Dr. Zhong Nanshan Advocated Quarantine

Dr. Zhong Nanshan explained in a 17 April 2020 CGTN video that China managed the COVID-19 epidemic by using strict quarantine, mass testing and masking in public.

He never once mentioned anything about “building up” your own immune system, because there is simply… bullshit.

Fact #4 : SARS-CoV-2 Is A Novel Coronavirus

COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 – a novel (brand new) coronavirus.

Because it has never been encountered by any human being in history, our immune system has never learned to fight against it.

While a good diet, exercise and exposure to sunlight are important for our health and well-being, they will NOT prevent COVID-19.

Dr. Zhong Nanshan himself went viral for sleeping on a train to Wuhan in January 2020 to investigate the epidemic, while everyone else was travelling home for the Spring Festival.

Fact #5 : Immune System Overreaction Major Cause Of Death / Injury

Research has shown that our immune system can overreact to the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, triggering a cytokine storm that causes many classic features of severe COVID-19 disease :

  • Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
  • Acute lung injury
  • Systemic inflammatory response
  • Multiple organ failures
  • Thromboembolism – arterial and venous blood clots

That is why dexamethasone – a corticosteroid – was found to be effective in improving the survival rates of severe COVID-19 :

  • patients on ventilators : by one-third (33%)
  • patients receiving oxygen : by one-fifth (20%)

The fact dexamethasone has no effect on patients who do not require respiratory support confirms that it doesn’t treat the infection, but prevents the body’s immune system from running amok and killing the patient.

Recommended : Dexamethasone : Do NOT Self-Medicate Against COVID-19!

Fact #6 : Vitamin D Does Not Prevent COVID-19

There is no evidence that Vitamin D prevents COVID-19.

While scientists are researching the use of Vitamin D in COVID-19 infections, it is to determine if it can possibly reduce or prevent the cytokine storm, as well as thrombotic (blood clotting) complications.

The same scientists researching this also warn that there is a potential for vitamin D toxicity. Hence, such supplement should “only be taken under medical supervision“.

Fact #7 : Gargling Cannot Prevent COVID-19

The SARS-CoV-2 virus spreads mostly by droplets and to a lesser extent, by aerosol. Therefore, gargling cannot prevent COVID-19.

Never mind the fact that gargling cannot reach deeper than your pharynx, it cannot protect against virus particles that you BREATHE IN.

Yes, if you are not aware yet – most COVID-19 infections occur when people breathe in infected droplets.

What gargling can do is help reduce the spread of infectious droplets by COVID-19 patients. Even that is only possible using mouthwash, not with salt water or tea.

Fact #8 : Hot Baths Won’t Prevent COVID-19

It doesn’t matter whether you bathe in cold or hot water – your body’s internal temperature stays the same.

Your body maintains its temperature by homeostasis, which is why we sweat when it’s hot and shiver when it’s cold.

A hot bath will not elevate your body temperature. It will certainly not kill the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Neither will breathing in steam, in case you are thinking about it!

China’s Guidelines For Sinovac Vaccine : The Facts!

We checked out the claims, and here is the sweet and short verdict – this is yet another piece of FAKE NEWS.

For those who want to understand more, here are the FACTS :

Fact #1 : Beijing Vaccine Prevention Center Does Not Exist

The Chinese term actually translates to Beijing Epidemic Prevention Center, which makes far more sense than a Vaccine Prevention Center.

But either way – there is no such institution called the Beijing Vaccine Prevention Center or the Beijing Epidemic Prevention Center (北京市防疫中心).

The closest candidate is the Beijing Center of Vaccine Clinical Evaluation (北京疫苗临床评价中心).

Fact #2 : Vaccine Guidelines Were Issued By China’s National Health Commission

On 29 March 2021, China’s health authorities issued their first official COVID-19 vaccination guidelines.

But they were not issued by some Beijing institute, but China’s National Health Commission.

Fact #3 : The Real Vaccine Guidelines Contradicts Fake List

Here is a summary of the key vaccine guidelines issued by the National Health Commission.

  • The four conditionally approved vaccines are safe for senior citizens aged 60 and above
  • Senior citizens aged 60 and above should get vaccinated
  • Booster shots are not recommended at this stage.
  • It is not recommended for those under the age of 18 to get vaccinated for now.
  • Vaccination should be completed using the same vaccine, and not mixed.
  • Under special circumstances, people can use a mix of vaccines to complete their vaccination.

They completely contradict the fake list that is circulating on WhatsApp and Facebook.

Fact #4 : Hong Kong Guidelines Contradict Fake List

The Hong Kong government noted in their 19 February 2021 interim recommendations on the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine that the only risk to look out for is an allergic reaction.

Allergic reactions may occur after administration of CoronaVac. Recipients of CoronaVac should be kept for observation and monitored for a minimum of 30 minutes. Persons with a history of allergies should consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice before you receive this vaccine. A second dose of the vaccine should not be given to those who have experienced an allergic reaction to the first dose of CoronaVac.

Fact #5 : Official Sinovac Guidelines Contradict Fake List

The Hong Kong government also provided the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine’s package insert, whose list of contraindications contradict the fake list above :

  • People with history of allergic reaction to CoronaVac or other inactivated vaccine, or any component of CoronaVac (active or inactive ingredients, or any material used in the process).
  • Previous severe allergic reactions to the vaccine (e.g. acute anaphylaxis, angioedema, dyspnea, etc.)
  • People with severe neurological conditions (e.g. transverse myelitis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, demyelinating diseases, etc.)
  • Patients with uncontrolled severe chronic diseases;
  • Pregnant and lactating women.

It also lists conditions in which the vaccine should be administered with caution :

  • People aged 60 years and above (which China’s National Health Commission just approved – see Fact #3)
  • People with acute diseases, acute exacerbation of chronic diseases, severe chronic diseases, atopy and fever.
  • People with diabetes, history of convulsions, epilepsy, encephalopathy or mental illness, or with family history of such diseases.
  • People with thrombocytopenia or hemorrhagic diseases – the injection may cause bleeding.
  • People with impaired immune function, such as malignant tumour, nephrotic syndrome, AIDS.
  • People who require human immunoglobulin injection – there should be at least one month interval before vaccine administration.

Chinese Vaccine Efficacy Not High? What Are The Facts?

Did Chinese CDC director, Gao Fu, admit that Chinese vaccine efficacy is “not high”?

Find out what’s the latest controversy surrounding Chinese vaccines, and what the FACTS really are!

Chinese CDC Director : Vaccine Efficacy Not High

On 10 April 2021, Gao Fu – the director of the Chinese Centres for Disease Control and Prevention – gave a talk on the Chinese COVID-19 vaccines at a conference in Chengdu, China.

He said that “the protection rates of existing vaccines are not high“, and suggested several options to improve their efficacy :

  • increasing the number of doses
  • adjusting the dosage
  • adjusting the interval between doses
  • mixing different vaccines

When that was picked up by International media, he told Chinese state media, Global Times, that his admission that Chinese vaccines had poor protection was “a complete misunderstanding“.

Chinese Vaccine Efficacy : The Current Facts

Now, let’s examine what we currently know about Chinese vaccines, and whether they are effective against COVID-19.

Fact #1 : Chinese Vaccines Are Mostly Comparable

Sinophiles and Chinese state media often claim that Chinese vaccines are superior, while Sinophobes insist that Chinese vaccines are junk.

The truth is – Chinese vaccines are far from the best, but are mostly comparable with Western vaccines that use older inactivated or viral vector technologies.

The outlier is CoronaVac from Sinovac Biologics, which barely made it past the 50% minimum efficacy line.

COVID-19 Vaccine Efficacy
Pfizer Comirnaty 95.0%
Moderna mRNA-1273 94.1%
Gamaleya Sputnik V 91.6%
Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV 79% ~ 86%
AstraZeneca AZD1222 76% ~ 85%
Novavax Covovax 60 ~ 89%
J&J Janssen COVID-19 66.0%
CanSino Convidecia 65.7%
Sinovac CoronaVac 50.65%

Fact #2 : Efficacy Blinds People To What’s Really Important

The public is obsessed over COVID-19 vaccine efficacy rates, but they are blind to what’s really important – protection against severe disease and death!

As this table shows, efficacy rates don’t tell the full story. The truth is that all these vaccines will protect you against severe disease, and prevent you from dying from COVID-19!

Even the worst Chinese vaccine in this table – the CoronaVac – has strong protection against severe disease, and completely protects against death!

Recommended : Why COVID-19 Vaccine Efficacy Does NOT Matter!

COVID-19 Vaccine Protection Against

Pfizer Comirnaty 95.0% 100% 100%
Moderna mRNA-1273 94.1% 100% 100%
Gamaleya Sputnik V 91.6% 100% 100%
AstraZeneca AZD1222 76% ~ 85% 100% 100%
Novavax Covovax 60 ~ 89% 100% 100%
CanSino Convidecia 65.7% 90.98% 100%

J&J Janssen COVID-19 66.0% 85% 100%
Sinovac CoronaVac 50.65% 83.7% 100%

Fact #3 : Vaccine Efficacy Varies Against Virus Strains

All these COVID-19 vaccines are designed to target the original virus strain, whose genetic code was sequenced and released by Chinese scientists on 12 January 2020.

However, since then, the SARS-CoV-2 virus has spread globally and infected over 136 million people as of 12 April 2021.

Each infection represents an opportunity for the virus to mutate into new variants, some of which have changed behaviour or capability – creating a new strain.

Credit : The Conversation

Each new strain that develops has a chance to become more infectious, more lethal, and reduce the effectiveness of current vaccines.

That’s what Gao Fu is most likely referring to, and is a genuine concern for health authorities and vaccine manufacturers.

That’s why it is so important to quickly vaccinate people – so herd immunity can be achieved before a resistant strain develops!

Recommended : Which COVID-19 Vaccine Should YOU Choose?

Fact #4 : “Improved” Vaccines Are Being Developed

New strains may have new physical characteristics that allow them to evade the immune system of people vaccinated against the original strain.

So new, “improved” vaccines are being developed to target these new strains that are becoming more prevalent.

They are not actually “better” than current vaccines – they have just been modified to take into account the changes in the new strains.

What Gao Fu suggested in the conference are alternative methods to improving vaccine efficacy without developing an improved vaccine.

  • increasing the number of doses
  • adjusting the dosage
  • adjusting the interval between doses
  • mixing different vaccines

This would, arguably, allow for faster deployment since the Chinese can make use of their existing vaccines, and skip the development of an improved vaccine.

Such changes in vaccine protocol would, of course, require testing to establish their (improved) efficacy against the new variants / strains.

Fact #5 : Chinese Lack Of Transparency Is The Issue

The big problem with Chinese vaccines is not that they are less efficacious. The problem is that the Chinese have not been transparent about their vaccines.

Even though they were amongst the first to begin testing in 2020, they only released the RESULTS of their trials in press releases, refusing to release the actual data.

Only at the end of March 2021 did Sinopharm and Sinovac release data to the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE).

As of 12 April 2021, not a single Chinese manufacturer has publicly published the trial data for their vaccine.

All this eats into public confidence over Chinese vaccines. Why won’t any Chinese manufacturer release the trial data for their vaccine?

After all, all approved Western and Russian vaccines have publicly done so – Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and even Gamaleya.

China : Was COVID-19 Created In Fort Detrick Bio Lab?

China keeps suggesting that COVID-19 was created as a bioweapon by the US Army bio lab at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

Find out what why China wants the world to believe this, and what the FACTS really are!

China : Was COVID-19 Created In Fort Detrick Bio Lab?

For more than a year now, Chinese spokespersons and media have aggressively promoted the claim that the SARS-CoV-2 virus did not originate in Wuhan.

Instead, the virus was created as a bioweapon by the US Army at their bio lab at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

Their evidence? The fact that the CDC shut down the Fort Detrick lab on 2 August 2019 after finding “biosafety lapses” there.

But how did the SARS-CoV-2 virus get from Maryland in the United States to Wuhan, China?

They claimed that the US Army sent their soldiers to spread COVID-19 in Wuhan during the 2019 Military World Games held there from 18 to 27 October 2019.

They even spread a fake video, claiming to show an American soldier spreading the COVID-19 virus in a subway in Wuhan.

The theory heavily promoted by Chinese media and even Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian, who asked, “When did patient zero begin in the US? It might be the US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan!

They also spread the fake story that Japanese Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Tasuku Honjo confirmed that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was created at the Fort Detrick lab.

Recommended : Nobel laureate Tasuku Honjo confident US created COVID-19?

Fort Detrick COVID-19 Origin : Just Chinese Propaganda

The Fort Detrick origin story of COVID-19 is really nothing more than Chinese propaganda.

And here are the FACTS…

Fact #1 : SARS-CoV-2 Is Natural, And Related To Bat Coronaviruses

Genomic analysis have proven that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is natural, for these reasons :

  • an artificial virus would have to be created from existing viruses
  • the SARS-CoV-2 virus has components that have never been seen before
  • it is very similar to existing bat coronaviruses.

Therefore, it is unlikely to be created in a biological lab like the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases lab at Fort Detrick; or the Wuhan Institute of Virology, for the matter.

Fact #2 : Multiple Strains Denote A Later Time Line

Viruses mutate and create new strains over time. A novel virus like SARS-CoV-2 would start with a single strain and evolve into multiple strains as it spreads globally and mutate over time.

Hence, the very fact that there are five strains in the United States would actually refute it as the source of SARS-CoV-2 – the COVID-19 coronavirus.

In fact, by analysing the genomic changes of these strains, scientists have pretty much concluded that SARS-CoV-2 did indeed originate in China.

Fact #3 : Fort Detrick Sterilisation Plant Failed

The CDC temporarily shut down the US Army lab at Fort Detrick on 2 August 2019, after finding “biosafety lapses” there.

However, that was not because viruses actually leaked from the facility, but rather :

  • the lab was no longer able to decontaminate wastewater from its highest security labs.
  • their steam sterilisation plant was damaged in a flood in May 2018, and they had been using a chemical decontamination method instead.
  • no disease-causing materials were found outside authorised areas

USAMRIID Steam Sterilisation Plant at Fort Detrick, when it first became operational in May 2012 | Photo Credit : US Army Corps of Engineers

Fact #4 : Wuhan Was Epicentre Of COVID-19 Outbreak

China’s continuous suggestions that there may have been a leak at the Fort Detrick laboratory is illogical.

If SARS-CoV-2 leaked from Fort Detrick, Maryland would have been the epicentre of the initial COVID-19 outbreak, not Wuhan.

Now, this does not mean that the SARS-CoV-2 virus originated at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. It merely means the Chinese claim about Fort Detrick is nonsensical.

Why Would China Push The Fake Fort Detrick Claim?

With China’s aggressive foreign policy moves in recent years, it is not uncommon to see fake pro-China, anti-America stories being created and shared.

Many believe it’s part of a concerted attempt to burnish China’s image overseas, and drown out negative coverage of China’s controversial Belt and Road Initiative, and their aggressive moves in the South China Sea..

China has also been blamed for not handling the initial epidemic better, and unfairly – for being the origin of this new virus.

Hence, they have been trying their best to deflect blame by casting aspersions unto others, using aggressive Wolf Warrior diplomacy tactics, propaganda outlets like GlobalTimes and CTGN, and their 50 Cent Army.

China Used Hot Drinks + Steam To Kill COVID-19?

The Sun FM video on how China used hot drinks and steam to kill COVID-19 keeps getting shared on WhatsApp.

Find out why it’s so popular, and what the FACTS really are!

Sun FM : China Used Hot Drinks + Steam To Kill COVID-19!

In an effort to leverage off the “hot topic” of COVID-19 in the early days, Sun FM – an Indian radio station that is related to Sun TV – created and released a video that went viral.

The video went viral on Facebook and WhatsApp, because Sun FM made a lot of incredible claims :

  1. No one dies of COVID-19 in China
  2. The Chinese don’t seek medical attention even if they get COVID-19
  3. The Chinese controlled COVID-19 by :
    a) drinking hot water 6 times a day
    b) drinking hot milk + tea 4 times a day
    c) inhaling steam as often as possible
  4. By consuming hot drinks and inhaling steam for 4 days, they are cured of COVID-19 on the 5th day.
  5. The PCR test will turn up negative.
  6. Medicine cannot totally cure COVID-19, but the heat can.

They then end the video, asking people to share the video, and telling them “Our interest is your safety”.

China Used Hot Drinks + Steam To Kill COVID-19? BULLSHIT!

When we first saw Sun FM release this video in mid-2020, it was obvious they were just making it up. The whole video was utter BULLSHIT.

Nothing in it is remotely true. And they had the gall to claim that their interest is your safety. BULLSHIT!

Fact #1 : Many People Died Of COVID-19 In China!

As of January 2021, China reported 90,329 cases of COVID-19, of which 4,636 people died.

That is a very high mortality rate of 5.13%! Basically – 1 out of every 20 COVID-19 patients in China died.

Fact #2 : Chinese Hospitals Were Full!

COVID-19 spread so rapidly in China that their hospitals quickly filled up. Pictures and video showed people crowding hospitals, desperate to find help.

China quickly built two makeshift hospitals – Leishenshan (Thunder God Mountain) and Huoshenshan (Fire God Mountain).

So urgent was their need that they built the Huoshenshan Hospital in just 10 days!

Fact #3 : Hot Drinks Won’t Prevent COVID-19

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is a respiratory virus, which means it primarily infects you through your respiratory system, and to a lesser extent – through your eyes.

Therefore, drinking hot water and drinks, even coffee or tea, have absolutely NO EFFECT on the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Fact #4 : SARS-CoV-2 Does Not Hang Around For 4 Days

After you inhale the SARS-CoV-2 virus, it will IMMEDIATELY infect and hijack your cells to replicate.

It takes a few days before it infects enough cells, and your body recognises and reacts to the threat, for symptoms to show.

But that doesn’t mean they are on a holiday in your nose, giving you four days to kill them with steam, before finally infecting you!

Fact #5 : Inhaling Steam Is Dangerous + Won’t Kill Virus

Inhaling steam will NOT weaken or kill any virus in your nose. Inhaling hot steam at 60°C to 70°C can cause burn damage to your nose.

In fact, Dr. Satyanarayana Mysore, the HOD of Pulmonology at Manipal Hospitals reported seeing many cases of scalded airways and worsening asthma due to steam inhalation in March, April and May 2020.

Recommended : Can Inhaling Steam + Supplements Prevent COVID-19?

Fact #6 : China Never Used Steaming To Cure COVID-19!

China succeeded in clamping down on the COVID-19 pandemic, by

Not once did the Chinese ever recommend, or even practiced, the use of steam inhalation to treat COVID-19.

Fact #7 : There Are Now Vaccines!

We have to point this out, because this viral message is still spreading, and people actually believe Sun FM’s fake video.

Multiple COVID-19 vaccines have now been approved, and administered worldwide. So make sure you get vaccinated against COVID-19 ASAP!

Malaysia Buys 3.5 Million CanSino COVID-19 Vaccine Doses!

Malaysia just purchased 3.5 million doses of the CanSino Convidecia vaccine against COVID-19!

Get the details of this new vaccine deal, and find out what it means for the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Malaysia!

Malaysia Buys 3.5 Million Doses Of CanSino COVID-19 Vaccine!

On 1 April 2021, the Malaysia Minister of Health, Dr. Adham Baba, announced the purchase of 3.5 million doses of the CanSino COVID-19 vaccine.

This deal will be divided into two stages :

  • 500,000 finished doses, starting in April 2021
  • 3 million doses to be filled and finished by Solutions Biologics Sdn. Bhd. (SolBio)

CanSino COVID-19 Vaccine : Where Will It Be Used In Malaysia?

The CanSino Convidecia is a single-dose vaccine, so the 3.5 million doses will be enough to vaccinate 10.9% of the adult population in Malaysia.

It also requires only standard refrigeration at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), which makes it easy to distribute.

Therefore, the Malaysia Ministry of Health plans to use the CanSino vaccine in rural areas, and areas where recipients find it difficult to come twice for their vaccinations.

They are also planning to use it to vaccinate foreigners in Malaysia.

CanSino COVID-19 Vaccine : What You Need To Know!

China recently approved the CanSino Convidecia vaccine for general use, and several countries around the world have purchased it.

In this article, we will answer your frequently asked questions about this Chinese-made vaccine!

Find out how the Convidecia vaccine works, and how effective it really is against COVID-19!

CanSino Convidecia Vaccine : What Is It?

Developed by CanSino Biologics, Convidecia is a viral vector vaccine, that uses a modified Ad5 virus to deliver the blueprint for the SARS-CoV-2 protein spike.

Unlike the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines, CoronaVac only needs to be refrigerated at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), which makes it easy to distribute.

In addition, it only requires a single dose, which makes it easier to fully vaccinate large populations

On 25 February 2021, China approved the Convedicia vaccine for general use.

CanSino Convidecia Vaccine : How Does It Work?

The CanSino Convidecia vaccine works similarly to other viral vector vaccines, like the AstraZeneca AZD1222 and Gamaleya Sputnik V vaccines.

It uses a modified Ad5 virus containing the DNA instructions for the protein spikes of the SARS-CoV-2.

Once injected, the Ad5 virus introduces the SARS-CoV-2 protein spike DNA to the cell nucleus, where it is decoded to create the mRNA instructions.

Then, just like the mRNA vaccines, the cell’s ribosomes use those mRNA instructions to manufacture the SARS-CoV-2 protein spikes, which are then presented on the cell surface.

These “foreign” protein spikes triggers the body’s immune system, which then makes antigens to target these spikes.

CanSino Convidecia Vaccine : What Are Its Side Effects?

According to its Phase 1 trial results, volunteers reported only these side effects :

  • injection site pain
  • mild to severe fever (up to grade 3)
  • headache
  • mild to severe fatigue (up to grade 3)
  • muscle and joint pain
  • throat pain and cough

However, they were generally well-tolerated, with no incidences of hypersensitivity to the vaccine.

CanSino Convidecia Vaccine : How Effective Is It?

Unfortunately, there have been no publicly released trial data on the CanSino vaccine’s efficacy. Only what they chose to release in their press statements.

According to CanSino Biologics, here is the efficacy of the Convidecia vaccine in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 disease :

  • 2 weeks after vaccination : 68.83% efficacy
  • 4 weeks after vaccination : 65.28% efficacy

CanSino Convidecia Vaccine : Should You Take It?

Yes, if approved by the health authority of your country, you should take it.

The CanSino vaccine may have lower efficacy than the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine, but it is still an effective vaccine.

The key thing you should note is that it has been proven to prevent severe or fatal COVID-19 disease.

And it offers about 91% protection against moderate to severe COVID-19 disease that requires medical treatment.

Did NYT Rank 4 Chinese Vaccines As Safest In The World?

Did the New York Times rank four Chinese COVID-19 vaccines as the safest in the world?

Find out what recently went viral, and what the FACTS really are!

Did NYT Rank 4 Chinese Vaccines As Safest In The World?

Sinophiles have been excitedly sharing on email and WhatsApp, this amazing piece of news :

Report by The New York Times on Feb 5, 2021.

In the safety ranking, the top four are all Chinese vaccines:

1. Sinopharm (China)
2. Sinovac (China)
3. Kexing (China)
4. Can Sino (China)
5. AstraZeneca (UK)
6. Pfizer (United States and Germany)
7. Modena (United States)
8. Johnson & Johnson (United States)
9. Novavax (United States)
10. Satellite 5 (Russia)

Sinopharm has two vaccines, ranking first and second respectively.

China has exported more than 500 million doses of vaccines to more than 50 countries around the world, and it is estimated that hundreds of millions of people have been vaccinated. And China’s vaccine accident rate is lower and safer.

As reported by Western media, many wealthy people in Britain fly to the UAE to vaccinate Chinese national medicine.

It appears to be an English translation of this original Chinese post by a Facebook user called Tai Shing Suen.

9. Novavax(美國)

NO, NYT Did NOT Rank 4 Chinese Vaccines As Safest In The World

The posts above are FALSE and intentionally misleading. And here are the facts…

Fact #1 : It Was An Opinion Piece, Not An Actual NYT Article

The posts included a New York Times link, but it was to an opinion piece by Achal Prabhala and Chee Yoke Ling – an Indian public health activist and a Malaysian public interest lawyer.

It was NOT an actual article by any New York Times writer or correspondent. Neither was it endorsed by the New York Times.

Fact #2 : There Was No Safety Ranking Of Vaccines

The opinion piece did not rank the safety of any vaccine.

In fact, it pointed out that the conflicting trial results for the CoronaVac vaccine from Sinovac, and noted that “China’s and Russia’s self-serving propaganda campaigns touting their respective vaccines only increased wariness“.

Instead of praising Chinese vaccines as the safest in the world, the two writers are merely asking health authorities to “start trusting other countries’ vaccines“, because there is simply not enough vaccines from Western countries to supply the world.

Fact #3 : The NYT Refuted The Claim

On 10 March 2021, The New York Times published three tweets refuting the false claims.

We are aware of misinformation circulating on WhatsApp, which falsely ranks the safety of worldwide coronavirus vaccines and attributes this list to a report published by The New York Times.

This message is misleading and untrue. The New York Times did not publish this list, our reporting has not suggested that Chinese vaccines are superior to vaccines produced elsewhere, nor have we published claims that China has exported more than 500 million doses.

Our understanding of the effectiveness and safety of vaccines is published in The New York Times Coronavirus Vaccine Tracker. It is evolving, nuanced, and regularly updated to reflect current scientific evidence.

Fact #4 : No Phase 3 Trial Results Published Yet

So far, Chinese vaccine manufacturers have shied from publishing their Phase 3 trial data. Instead, they chose to issue press releases.

For example, on 5 February 2021, Sinovac announced the results of their CoronaVac Phase 3 trials from Brazil and Turkey, without releasing the actual data.

China promptly approved the public use of CoronaVac the very next day. This would not be possible for vaccines approved in the US and Europe.

We should point out that Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and even Russia’s Gamaleya Institute have released Phase 3 trial data of their vaccines for peer review.

Fact #5 : Doses Ordered, Not Delivered

The post claimed that “China has exported more than 500 million doses of vaccines to more than 50 countries around the world, and it is estimated that hundreds of millions of people have been vaccinated.”

The truth is Chinese vaccine manufacturers received ORDERS for about 500 million doses of their vaccines from about 45 countries.

They are actually a long way from delivering (exporting) those 500 million vaccine doses, and certainly hundreds of millions of people have NOT been vaccinated with Chinese COVID-19 vaccines.

Fact #6 : China Purchased 100 Million Doses Of Pfizer Vaccine

Despite the claims of Chinese vaccine superiority and approving FOUR domestically developed and produced vaccines, it has vaccinated very few of its population.

China only planned to vaccinate 50 million essential workers by mid-February – less than 4% of its population, even as it exports millions of doses overseas.

That is probably why China itself ordered 100 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Fact #7 : Flying For Early Vaccines, Not Chinese Vaccines

While the fake post insinuates that wealthy UK residents are flying to the UAE for superior Chinese vaccines, the truth is they were offered EARLY ACCESS to COVID-19 vaccines.

Knightsbridge Circle – a private concierge service – had been flying people since January 2021 to the UAE for the Pfizer vaccine, or India for the AstraZeneca vaccine.

In February 2021, they partnered with the UAE to offer the Sinopharm vaccine as a way to “bring tourism into the area”.

This is really about the rich cutting queue and getting early access to COVID-19 vaccines, and not about wealthy UK residents actually believing in the superiority of Chinese vaccines.

Chinese Vaccines : Should You Take Them?

Yes, if approved by the health authority of your country, you should take it.

The Chinese vaccines may have lower efficacy than the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine, but they are still effective vaccines.

We need to stop obsessing over efficacy rates because most people don’t understand them.

What we really need to understand is that ALL approved COVID-19 vaccines have been proven to prevent severe or fatal COVID-19 disease.

Just take any approved COVID-19 vaccine, and you will be protected against moderate to severe COVID-19 disease that requires medical treatment.

CoronaVac Vaccine By Sinovac : Your Questions Answered!

China recently approved the CoronaVac vaccine for general use, and several countries around the world have purchased it.

In this article, we will answer your frequently asked questions about this Chinese-made vaccine!

Find out how the CoronaVac vaccine works, and how effective it really is against COVID-19!

CoronaVac Vaccine : What Is It?

Developed by Sinovac Life Sciences, CoronaVac is a 2-dose inactivated virus vaccine, where the second dose delivered 14 days after the first.

Unlike the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines, CoronaVac only needs to be refrigerated at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), which makes it easy to distribute.

On 6 February 2021, China approved the CoronaVac vaccine for general use.

CoronaVac Vaccine : How Is It Created?

CoronaVac is an inactivated virus vaccine – which is an older method of creating vaccines.

  • The SARS-CoV-2 virus (CN02 strain) is cultured (grown) in African green monkey kidney cells, also known as Vero cells *.
  • After incubation, the virus is harvested and inactivated (killed) using β-propiolactone, a sterilising agent.
  • The inactivated virus are concentrated and purified, and then adsorbed (attached) onto aluminium hydroxide.
  • The aluminium hydroxide + virus complex is then diluted in phosphate-buffered saline (basically salt water with phosphate) to match the pH, osmolarity and ion concentration of the human body.
  • Finally, the vaccine solution is sterilised and filtered, before being filled into syringes or vials.

* This is why the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine box is labelled “SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated“.

CoronaVac Vaccine : What Does It Contain?

The CoronaVac vaccine can come in the form of a vial, or a pre-filled syringe. Both only require refrigeration at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F).

Each dose contains 600 SU (3 µg) of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus and aluminium hydroxide (as adjuvant) in 0.5 ml of phosphate-buffered saline.

CoronaVac Vaccine : How Does It Work?

The CoronaVac vaccine is injected intramuscularly in two separate doses, fourteen days apart.

Once injected, the antigens on the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus trigger the body’s immune system, just like the actual virus would.

However, the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus just floats around and doesn’t infect any cells. So the immune response it generates is much weaker than an actual COVID-19 infection.

That is why it uses aluminium hydroxide as an adjuvant, and a second vaccine shot is needed to further stimulate the immune response.

CoronaVac Vaccine : What Are Its Side Effects?

According to its Phase 1 trial results, volunteers reported only these side effects :

  • injection site pain
  • fatigue
  • muscle pain
  • headache

They were generally mild (grade 1 in severity), and the volunteers recovered within 48 hours.

Only one case of acute hypersensitivity with urticaria (hives) was recorded out of 24 volunteers who received the vaccine.

CoronaVac Vaccine : Can It Make You Speak Mandarin?

After Malaysia Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin, got vaccinated with the CoronaVac vaccine, he appeared in a video speaking about it in Mandarin.

People started joking that a side effect of the vaccine was that it teaches you to speak Mandarin. To be clear, speaking Mandarin is not a side effect of the vaccine, it is just a joke!

CoronaVac Vaccine : How Effective Is It?

The efficacy of the CoronaVac vaccine is a subject of some controversy…

Butantan Study Controversy

On 24 December 2020, the Butantan Institute in Brazil announced that the CoronaVac vaccine’s efficacy was “above 50%” – the minimum threshold for approval. However, Sinovac asked them to delay releasing their results.

On 7 January 2021, the Butantan Institute announced that the CoronaVac vaccine was 78% effective.

That was “corrected” on 12 January 2021, when they announced that the 78% efficacy rate was “calculated” based on mild, moderate and severe COVID-19 cases.

When they included “very mild cases”, the actual figure was 50.38% – often rounded up as 50.4%.

Out of 12,396 volunteers, 160 who got the placebo were infected, 128 who got the vaccine were infected.

Sinovac Explains Controversy

On 14 January 2021, Sinovac senior director, Yin Weidong, explained at a Beijing press conference that the reason why the CoronaVac’s efficacy was so low was because it was tested on healthcare workers.

He noted that the other vaccines were tested on mostly ordinary citizens with lower risks of infection, even though all vaccine studies include healthcare workers who are most at risk of being infected.

Sinovac Announces Phase 3 Trial Results

On 5 February 2021 – a day before China approved CoronaVac for general use – Sinovac announced the vaccine’s Phase 3 results from Brazil and Turkey.

Brazil Trial : 12,396 healthcare workers

  • 50.65% efficacy against symptomatic disease
  • 83.70% efficacy against symptomatic disease requiring medical treatment
  • 100% efficacy against hospitalisation, severe or fatal cases

Turkey Trial : 1,322 participants

  • 91.25% efficacy against symptomatic disease

The Turkey trial was far too small, and the Brazil trial results were tainted by accusations of data manipulation. The Sinovac furthered that perception by claiming a 83.7% efficacy against medical treatment.

While that may be accurate, it muddies the already murky water and confuses people regarding its true efficacy against symptomatic COVID-19 disease.

CoronaVac Vaccine : Should You Take It?

Yes, if approved by the health authority of your country, you should take it.

The CoronaVac may have lower efficacy than the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine, but it is still an effective vaccine.

The key thing you should note is that it has been proven to prevent severe or fatal COVID-19 disease.

And it offers about 84% protection against moderate to severe COVID-19 disease that requires medical treatment.

Realme GT Faces Ban After Cheating In AnTuTu Benchmark!

The Realme GT faces a possible permanent ban after it was caught cheating in the AnTuTu Benchmark!

Find out what’s going on, and what it means to you – potential Realme customers!

Benchmark Cheating : Why Do It?

The smartphone industry is a cut-throat business, with brands fighting to differentiate their smartphones from their competitors. One of the ways is to demonstrate a clear performance advantage.

Other than the usual ways – using more powerful processor and graphics cores – brands can tune their operating system to focus more on performance, at the expense of battery life.

However, when they use the same mobile platform, a desperate brand may resort to cheating to gain an edge over their rivals.

AnTuTu is accusing Realme of doing just that with their flagship Realme GT smartphone.

Realme GT Caught Cheating In AnTuTu Benchmark?

On 15 March 2021, AnTuTu posted their Weibo expose on how the Realme GT cheated at their benchmark. For your convenience, we are reposting it at the end of this article with our English translation.

AnTuTu first became suspicious when Realme declared an AnTuTu Benchmark result of over 770,000 for their Realme GT smartphone before it launched.

When Realme did not respond to their questions, AnTuTu purchased a unit of the Realme GT to test it for themselves.

After analysing the performance of their unit, they discovered that the Realme GT implemented two cheats :

Thread Delay In CPU Multi-Thread Test

The Realme GT was allegedly designed to intercept the threads from the CPU Multi-Thread test, to schedule them to run on the fast cores as much as possible.

This falsely inflates its score by using the fast cores to process the threads, instead of testing the processor’s true multi-core capability in handling multiple threads concurrently.

Mosaic Colour Block Modification In UX Test

AnTuTu discovered that the Realme GT modified the reference JPG image with mosaic colour blocks.

By replacing the details in the original picture with blocking mosaics, the JPG decoding speed can be greatly inflated.

Realme GT Threatened With Permanent Ban

After announcing their results, AnTuTu announced that they removed all Realme GT scores for 3 months.

They also warned that if Realme does not remove the cheats within 3 months, they will ban Realme GT permanently.

AnTuTu also shared that their upcoming V9 benchmark will feature improved anti-cheating features, and even trigger penalties like score deductions.

Realme : AnTuTu Scores Real, Will No Longer Using AnTuTu?

Realme CMO Xu Qi Chase quickly shot back a response to AnTuTu’s expose.

If we understand this correctly, he is insisting that the Realme GT scores are accurate, and announcing that Realme will no longer use the AnTuTu Benchmark results for future Realme smartphones.

What Does Realme GT Cheating Mean For Potential Customers?

If AnTuTu allegations are true, this is a serious blow to Realme’s credibility.

It became a fast-rising brand by borrowing the Xiaomi model of offering a ton of features at very low prices.

The fact that Realme has a flagship smartphone powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 SoC should be a testament to how far it came, so quickly.

Yet it appears that they would go way beyond aggressive pricing and other usual tactics to win market share.

Potential customers (and other benchmark developers) will now wonder – if the Realme GT was caught cheating in AnTuTu, could it also be cheating in other benchmarks?

Even worse – what other Realme smartphones employ such tactics to obtain higher than normal scores? This will be a real PR headache.

We should point out though that benchmark cheating is not limited to smartphone brands. Even MediaTek was caught cheating in 8 of their chipsets, involving more than 50 smartphones from Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and yes, Realme too.

AnTuTu Expose Of Realme GT Cheating

Here was what AnTuTu posted in their Weibo post, with our English translation below :

Before the realme GT went on the market, the official announcement of the Antutu test results of more than 760,000. We questioned this, but so far we have not received a specific response from realme.

At that time, we also promised that we will purchase this model to test after the Realme GT launched. Today’s removal instructions were made after we purchased the mass production device and actually tested it.

The Realme GT we bought was purchased on the Huantai Mall on the day of its debut on March 10th, and its storage configuration is 12+256GB.

After many tests, this realme GT scored about 750,000 points in the AnTuTu V8 version, and it has reached a very good level among the models currently on sale with the Snapdragon 888 platform. But according to the data analysis we conducted during the testing process, we found that this is not a manifestation of true strength, but obtained through cheating and other means.

Through our verification, Realme GT used thread delays in the CPU multi-thread test. Through the system interception of threads, some threads of the multi-thread test are scheduled to run on large cores as much as possible, resulting in higher test results.

This approach has deviated from the original intention of the AnTuTu test. The multi-threaded test examines the multi-threaded concurrent processor multi-core performance, not to examine the performance of the large core during continuous running tests.

In addition, in the JPG decoding project of the UX test, we found that the decoded pictures of the Antutu test were modified during the real GT running, and a lot of mosaics appeared. Using mosaic color blocks to replace the original picture details can significantly reduce the quality of the picture, and thus the decoding speed will be faster, so it has a higher score. But doing so obviously violates the purpose of the picture decoding test.

To sum up, AnTuTu decided to remove the realme GT’s running scores for three months. If realme can modify the two behaviours, it will be included in the relevant list again in three months. If it refuses to modify it, it will. be banned permanently.

In the upcoming V9 version, AnTuTu will further optimize the anti-cheating program. For example, cheating will trigger some penalties such as deductions.

Can Coffee Compounds Cure / Prevent COVID-19?

Can coffee compounds like Methylxanthine, Theobromine and Theophylline prevent or cure COVID-19?

Take a look at this viral COVID-19 claim, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : The Chinese Used Coffee Compounds To Cure COVID-19!

After hydroxychloroquine and tea, COFFEE is another miracle cure for COVID-19 circulating on the Internet.

Here is the claim that has been circulating on social media since at least June 2020 :

Breaking News from CNN :-

Dr. Li Wenliang, China’s hero doctor who was punished for telling the truth about Corona Virus and later died due to the same disease, had documented casefiles for research purposes and had in the casefiles proposed a cure that would significantly decrease the impact of the COVID – 19 Virus on the human body.

The chemical Methylxanthine, Theobromine and Theophylline stimulate compounds that can ward off these virus in a human with at least an average immune system.

Whats more shocking is that these complex words that were so difficult for people in China to understand is actually called COFFEE * in India, YES, our regular COFFEE has all these chemicals already in it.

The main Methylxanthine in COFFEE is the stimulant caffeine. Other Methylxanthines found in COFFEE are two chemically similar compounds, Theobromine and Theophylline. The COFFEE plant creates these chemicals as a way to ward off insects and other animals.

Who would have known that all the solution to these virus would be a simple cup of COFFEE and that is the reason so many patients in China are being cured.

The hospital staff in china has started serving COFFEE to the patients 3 times a day, And the effect is finally in *Wuhan ” The centre of this Pandemic” has been contained and community transmission has almost stopped.

Please Share this message to your friends and family to make them aware about this blessing in the form of COFFEE in your kitchen.

So please all start taking coffee and get rid of carona virus.

Forwarded as received.

காபிதானே குடிச்சு வைப்போம்.

Can Coffee Compounds Cure Or Prevent COVID-19? Nope!

This is yet another Internet hoax, a modified version of the earlier tea cure hoax.

Dr. Li Wenliang did not document any case files for research purposes, or proposed any cure for COVID-19.

Neither are the Chinese using coffee to cure or prevent COVID-19 infections in Wuhan. Here’s how we know that…

Fact #1 : There Is No Such CNN News Report

A quick check of the CNN website and Google reveals that there is no such CNN news report, claiming that Dr. Li Wenliang proposed coffee as a cure.

There is certainly no CNN report on the Chinese using coffee to cure or prevent COVID-19 infections.

Fact #2 : Dr Li Wenliang Was An Ophthalmologist!

Dr. Li Wenliang, who was one of several whistleblowing doctors raising alarm about the new virus, was an ophthalmologist.

As such, he only treats eye conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and the like. Not viruses like COVID-19.

His role in this COVID-19 tragedy was raising the alarm that was first set off by ER doctor, Dr. Ai Fen, who shared a patient’s report with her former classmates and colleagues.

Fact #3 : Methylxanthines Are Found In Chocolate, Coffee & Tea

Methylxanthines (or methylated xanthines) are a group of chemicals which include caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine. They are found not only in tea, but also chocolate and coffee.

Theophylline is predominant in tea, while theobromine is abundant in chocolate, and caffeine is the main methylxanthine in coffee.

If methylxanthines can really prevent COVID-19, why didn’t the writer suggest eating chocolate and drinking both coffee and tea for maximum effect?

Fact #4 : China Consumes More Coffee Than India

The Chinese may not drink as much coffee as they do tea, but it is really racist to say that unlike Indians, the Chinese do not know that coffee contains those compounds.

In 2019, the 1.43 billion Chinese population consumed US$8.2 BILLION worth of coffee, while the 1.37 billion Indian population consumed only US$903 MILLION worth of coffee.

In other words, the Chinese consume 8.7X more coffee per capita than the Indians. Could that suggest they are probably more aware of its health benefits?

Fact #5 : Coffee Cannot Cure Or Prevent COVID-19

If coffee can prevent COVID-19, countries with high coffee consumption would see far fewer cases.

Yet the top 5 consumers of coffee in the world – Iceland, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland – have over 2.17 million infections as of 22 February 2021, while China only has just over 90,000 infections.

Those 5 countries have a population of only 42 million, while China has 34X more people – 1.43 billion of them!

In other words, drinking coffee appears to make people 821X more likely to get infected by COVID-19!

Of course, we are not so silly as to make that claim, because correlation does NOT mean causation!

But what we can say is that statistically, drinking coffee won’t cure or prevent COVID-19.

Fact #6 : There Is Currently No Cure For COVID-19

As of 12 March 2021, there is no known cure or treatment for COVID-19.

However, several vaccines have been developed to prevent COVID-19, including :

So the best way to protect yourself isn’t to drink coffee, but to take an approved COVID-19 vaccine ASAP!

Did Spain Halt Pfizer Vaccination After Nursing Home Deaths?

Did Spain halt Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination due to 46 nursing home deaths after receiving the first shot of the vaccine?

Find out what’s going on, and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Spain Halts Pfizer Vaccination After 46 Nursing Home Deaths!

Websites like The COVID Blog, Humans Are Free and Health Impact News claim that Spain halted their Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination program after 46 nursing home deaths from the first shot!

Here were the key takeaways from their articles :

The Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Our Lady of the Rosary) nursing home is reeling due to mass deaths after mRNA inoculations.

All residents and workers at the facility received the first dose of Pfizer mRNA in early January, according to Spain mainstream media outlet ABC de Sevilla. Most residents became extremely ill shortly after the shots. It is believed many came down with COVID-19, despite being “vaccinated against it.”

The Andalusian Health Service reported that at least 46 residents have died since January. For perspective, Our Lady has a maximum capacity of 145 residents.

The situation remains dire, as at least 28 residents and 12 staff members were COVID-19 positive last week. Health officials halted all further mRNA shots as a result.

Chinese propaganda outlet, GlobalTimes, also chipped in on the controversy earlier this month, naturally attacking the Pfizer vaccine.

Concerns over the mRNA vaccine intensified following a Russia Today report on Monday that all 78 residents at a nursing home in Madrid, Spain had tested positive for COVID-19 after being given their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on January 13, and at least seven people have died.

A Chinese virologist advised elderly people, especially those with underlying conditions, not to take mRNA vaccine such as Pfizer’s, as it could induce their condition and worsen their health.

No, Spain Did NOT Halt Pfizer Vaccination After Nursing Home Deaths

Despite quoting a legitimate news report, both The COVID Blog and Humans Are Free fabricated many parts of their articles.

You can take a look at their source – a 4 February 2021 news report by ABC – a Spanish national daily newspaper.

Now, let’s examine their claims one by one, and show you why they both created a FALSE narrative out of this tragedy to support their anti-vaccination beliefs.

Fact #1 : They Died From COVID-19

All 46 residents of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario nursing home in Los Barrios died from COVID-19, not the vaccine.

The COVID-19 outbreak was first detected on 12 January 2021, and it quickly resulted in multiple deaths :

  • 18 January : 8 deaths in total
  • 28 January : 30 deaths in total
  • 3 February : 46 deaths in total

The Spain Ministry of Health was forced to intervene after an inspection determined that that private nursing home was not capable of disinfecting and isolating the COVID-19 positive cases.

Fact #2 : They Only Recently Received A Single Dose

The residents of this nursing home received their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine early this year. They did not receive their second dose because of the outbreak.

We do not know the exact date, but since the outbreak happened before their second dose, it’s safe to say they were only 1-2 weeks post-vaccination.

As COVID-19 has an incubation period that could be as long as 14 days, it is likely the residents were infected before or just after receiving their vaccination.

That means they remained vulnerable to COVID-19, even though they had already received the first dose of the vaccine.

As these Israeli test results show, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine confers very little immunity in the first two weeks.

That’s because it takes time for the body to react to the antigens created by the vaccine, and build up the necessary antibodies to counter them.

The vaccine therefore only offers partial protection in the third week, and significant protection in the fourth week, and maximum protection after the second dose.

After Vaccination Single Dose Two Doses
Week 1 2.82% infected
Week 2 2.96% infected
Week 3 0.746% infected
Week 4 0.044% infected 0.037% infected
% of total infected 99.44% 0.56%

More importantly, the results show that 99% of post-vaccination infections happen within 3 weeks of a single dose.

Only 1% of those infected with COVID-19 after vaccination were in their fourth week with a single dose, or just had their second dose.

Fact #3 : Vaccination Was Interrupted By Outbreak

Both The COVID Blog and Humans Are Free claimed that “health officials halted all further mRNA shots as a result” of the outbreak.

That is COMPLETELY FALSE. The ABC news report clearly stated that the second dose vaccination was “interrupted” by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Once that happened, the residents had to be isolated and the nursing home disinfected. The Health Ministry only intervened “a few weeks later” after the situation turned serious.

Fact #4 : Spain Has Almost Fully Vaccinated All Nursing Home Residents

As of 19 February 2021, the FED Care Home Association said that almost all nursing home residents in Spain have received both doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Spain’s Health Emergency Chief Fernando Simon also said that, for the first time since the pandemic began, “people over 65 who live in care homes have a lower rate of infection than those who live outside“, signalling that the vaccine was working.

That completely debunks the claim that Spain halted Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination due to nursing home deaths.

In fact, Spain is one of the fastest to vaccinate their people with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine – 2.45% of the population – about 1.15 million people, as of 17 February 2021.

Sinovac Vaccine Arrives In Malaysia, But Not Approved Yet

The first batch of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine – CoronaVac – just arrived in Malaysia.

There was not much fanfare, because the Sinovac vaccine has NOT actually been approved for use in Malaysia.

Sinovac Vaccine Arrives In Malaysia!

The first batch of the Sinovac vaccine – CoronaVac – arrived at the KL International Airport aboard MH319 at 8:47 AM on 27 February 2021.

Unlike the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, the Ministry of Health obtained CoronaVac through Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn Bhd – an intermediary company.

Hence, the Sinovac vaccine arrived in the form of 200 litres of CoronaVac bulk vaccine, which would then have to be bottled by Pharmaniaga.

Once bottled, these 200 litres of bulk vaccine should produce over 300,000 CoronaVac doses – enough to vaccinate approximately 150,000 people.

Sinovac Vaccine Not Approved In Malaysia Just Yet

While the CoronaVac vaccine has arrived in Malaysia, we should point out that it has not been approved by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA).

Therefore, the CoronaVac vaccine will not be used just yet in the Malaysia COVID-19 vaccination program.

According to the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, this is because the CoronaVac vaccine has not been bottled.

One of the criteria for approval by the NPRA is the evaluation of the bottling process by Pharmaniaga. Until that happens, the CoronaVac vaccine cannot be approved for use in Malaysia.

It should be pointed out that China only just approved this Sinovac vaccine for general use on 6 February 2021.

Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine : A Quick Primer

Developed by Sinovac, CoronaVac is an inactivated virus vaccine – an older method of creating vaccines.

The SARS-CoV-2 viruses are cultured (grown) in Vero cells, and inactivated (killed) before being administered as a vaccine.

The CoronaVac vaccine only needs to be refrigerated at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), which makes it easy to distribute.

This is a 2-dose vaccine, which the second dose delivered 14 days after the first.

Its Brazil clinical trial results showed that the CoronaVac vaccine was 50.4% effective in preventing COVID-19, just crossing the 50% mark for regulatory approval.

It was about 78% effective in preventing “mild to severe” COVID-19 disease, which is nevertheless good news.

Chinese Potty Sold As Decoration On Amazon!

Everyone’s laughing at Amazon for selling a Chinese potty as kitchen and dining table decoration, or as a “traditional fruit basket”.

You really cannot make this up! And yet, people have actually used it to chill wine and serve sauce!

Chinese Potty Sold As Decoration On Amazon!

This is the infamous post on Amazon, of a Chinese potty (also known as a Tam Pui). It not only serves as a chamber pot, it can also double as a spittoon.

But only on Amazon is it being marketed and sold as a “1960s Chinese Traditional Fruit Basket” or “Chinese Antique Kitchen & Dining Table Decoration” or “Traditional Fruit Basket”.

While it may seem like a joke, this is a real posting by a seller on Amazon.

The seller claims that it is an antique Chinese traditional fruit basket of the 1960s, that is suitable to be used as ice bucket for wine, or a housewarming gift, or a decorative item for your kitchen or dining table!

Even worse – the seller wanted a princely sum of CDN$68.45 (about US$54 / RM 219) for this Chinese potty that only costs about US$4 in China!

Tam Pui : Chinese Potty Explainer

To those who are unfamiliar with the Tam Pui – this is a chamber pot, a portable toilet, a potty. Some people also use it as a spittoon. But never for food or anything nice.

Those familiar with the Tam Pui have been laughing their asses off, because this is something many Chinese families used to potty train their children in the 1960s to maybe the 90s.

The child would sit on it and do his/her business into the Tam Pui, and the parents can clean them before disposing of the waste and toilet paper / waste water.

They are still used these days as portable urinals in hostels or rented rooms without ensuite toilets, for late night convenience.

And one may be purchased as a good luck gift for a newly-wed couple – to imply that they will soon have a baby.

Please Do NOT Use Chinese Potty Like This!

Unless you want to be thought as a complete moron by any person of Chinese ethnicity, as well as many other Asians, you should NOT use the Chinese potty to chill wine, as a bread basket, or to serve soup or sauce!

CNN Reporter Caught Faking Chinese Translation On TV?

Did a CNN reporter get caught lying on live TV about what a Chinese man really said?

Take a look at the viral video, and find out what the FACTS really are!

CNN Reporter Caught Faking Chinese Translation On TV?

A video clip showing a CNN reporter lying about what a Chinese man said on live TV is going viral, together with this message :

All he said was, “I just finished dinner with friends and want to catch up on my texts.”
If you know Mandarin, you can see how CNN can make up their news.
I can’t believe CNN will go this low.

In the video, the CNN reporter is seen asking a Chinese man why he’s drinking by himself.

The man replied (in Chinese) that he just had dinner with friends and was now, just taking a look at his phone.

But the CNN reporter told the CNN anchor a completely different story,

“Jesus, you can see by the look on his face. This man told me that his family had been taken away, that his brother’s sick, and he can’t get out.”

“And the only thing that’s left to do is drink. And really, I can’t blame him. Poor guy.”

No, The CNN Reporter Was Not Faking Chinese Translation Because…

… the truth is this video was edited, and is being used as Chinese propaganda.

In this video, we will show you why this video is NOT real, and is just another piece of Chinese propaganda.

The viral video clip is really a 29 second segment of a much longer video that runs 4 minutes and 19 seconds.

The original video was created by a UK student living in China, who calls himself Comerad James.

He stated clearly in his original video that he wanted to show how easy it was to make fake news.

Anyone watching his video can see that it was intentionally satirical, with the title CNN Global Bullcast, and his nickname there – Comerad James.

You can even see that both the CNN anchor and the CNN reporter are the same person – Comerad James himself.

And note that he even put in all sorts of Easter eggs – GME (GameStop) share price rising 9999%, and chyrons about public alcoholism spiralling out of control because Chinese citizens are giving up hope.

Comerad James created this video to satirise the “lack of integrity” of CNN and BBC in covering news on China.

Ironically, his video ended up being edited and used by Chinese propagandists to malign CNN’s integrity. So much for “integrity”.

The truth is major news organisations like CNN have fact-checkers and native speakers. Such a broadcast would have been caught very quickly, and they would have apologised for it.

If they didn’t, news of this would spread like wildfire and CNN would have been justifiably castigated online. Not just by Chinese citizens and Sinophiles, but also by other media outlets and the public in general.

On the other hand, Chinese propaganda outlets masquerading as news agencies like CGTN have never apologised or corrected themselves, even after they were caught lying.

Heck, the Chinese Foreign Ministry themselves lied publicly to back up CGTN’s false claims.

When you see such videos, THINK TWICE before forwarding them. You could be helping to propagate Chinese fake news / propaganda.

But feel free to share them with us, so we can fact-check them.

USS Al Gore Global Warming Research Vessel Frozen In Ice?

Did the USS Al Gore Global Warming Research Vessel get frozen in ice?

Take a look at the pictures, and find out what the facts really are!

USS Al Gore Global Warming Research Vessel Frozen In Ice?

People keep sharing pictures of the USS Al Gore Global Warming Research Vessel frozen in ice, some as a joke, some as evidence that global warming does not actually exist.

You will find these being shared on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Reddit, and even some websites.

Note : We intentionally placed the FALSE overlay to prevent them from being further abused.

Because these have been debunked previously on our sister website, someone started sharing a new picture instead. This time, of a much larger ship.

USS Al Gore : The Facts

As you can surmise by now, those pictures are NOT of the USS Al Gore Global Warming Research Vessel.

Climate change is real, and sharing pictures of frozen boats is not going to change the fact that the world is getting warmer.

Here are the reasons why these are all FAKE PICTURES being shared by climate change deniers.

Fact #1 : There Is No USS Al Gore

The USS Al Gore does not exist. The USS (United States Ship) designation is reserved for active commissioned ships of the US Navy. There has never been a ship named for former US Vice-President Al Gore.

Well, a FICTIONAL submersible aircraft carrier – the CVJ-01 USS Al Gore – was named after him, but I don’t suppose that counts… because it’s a SUBMARINE! 😀

Fact #2 : Al Gore Has A Houseboat Called Bio-Solar One

Al Gore has a 100-foot houseboat that is powered by bio-diesel and solar panels, called Bio-Solar One. It was launched sometime in September 2008.

Here, you can see it at the Hurricane Marina in Silver Point, Tennessee. Completely different design and size, and NEVER FROZEN in ice.

Fact #3 : The Frozen Boat Was In Switzerland

The original fake picture of USS Al Gore was of a boat moored off Versoix, on the shores of Lake Geneva, Switzerland.

It was hit by an ice storm in 2005 – the freezing rain froze into a thick glaze of ice that covered not only this boat, but also vehicles, buildings and the streets.

This photo of the same boat was taken by a different photographer, Santiago Puig Viladomiu.

The date stamp is clear – this was taken on 28 January 2005 – more than 3.5 years before Al Gore’s Bio-Solar One houseboat was even launched.

Fact #4 : The Frozen Ship Was In Russia

The newer fake photo of USS Al Gore was really taken on 19 January 2006, of the ship GEORG OTS at the port of Saint Petersburg in Russia.

GEORG OTS (IMO 7625835) is a passenger Roll-On, Roll-Off (Ro-Ro) cargo ship built in 1980, and has ceased service since 2013, last seen heading to Zhoushan, China.

Here you can see the original picture used in the fake USS Al Gore photo, and the GEORG OTS during warmer times.

This RTX Laptop Mining Farm Could Make $3.5 Million / Year!

Take a look at this crypto-mining farm that could make $3.5 million a year using just 900 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 gaming laptops!

Hundreds Of RTX Laptops Used In Crypto Mining Farms!

Not only gamers are affected by the limited supply of graphics cards in the market. So are cryptominers!

Chinese cryptominers now have to resort to buying up whatever GeForce RTX gaming laptops they can find, literally hundreds of them!

Instead of ASIC miners or GPU mining rigs, they are now powering their cryptomining operations with RTX gaming laptops!

We earlier highlighted the new trend of using RTX gaming laptops to mine cryptocurrency. It looks as this is more extensive that we first thought.

A Weibo blogger called 神鱼BTCer just shared even more pictures of RTX laptop-based mining operations, big and small.

Many appear to be pretty ghetto, placing the laptops in a kind of “tent mode” for better cooling, wherever there’s space – on tables, chairs or the floor.

But he also showed a seriously big crypto-mining farm being built using these GeForce RTX 30-series gaming laptops.

He even shared a short clip (part of the video we posted above), showing the cryptocurrency mining farm partially operational, with more being set-up.

There are 10 laptops per shelf, with each shelving unit capable of accommodating 60 laptops.

While not particularly large, this cryptocurrency mining farm has at least 15 visible shelving units, so that’s a total of 900 RTX gaming laptops when it’s fully operational.

Currently, it’s only partially complete, with about 200 or so laptops running, with many boxes of laptops left to open and setup.

How Much Money Can This RTX Laptop Mining Farm Make?

We had earlier shared about how a Bilibili content creator used an RTX 3060 laptop to mine 0.00053009 ETH while she sipped her coffee at Starbucks for 2 hours.

Based on her experience, we can guesstimate that the average GeForce RTX 3060 laptop will be able to produce :

  • 0.000265045 ETH per hour
  • 0.00636108 ETH per day
  • 0.1908324 ETH per month (30 days)
  • 2.3217942 ETH per year

Chinese electricity costs about RMB 0.545 (US$0.084) per kWh. Assuming each laptop uses about 250 watts of power (including whatever external fans they may be using), that works out to about RMB 1,200 or US$186 per year.

As of 11 February 2021, Ethereum is priced at US$1740. So here’s roughly how much this cryptocurrency mining farm would make, at that price :

  • 100 laptops : $385,392 per year
  • 200 laptops : $770,784 per year
  • 300 laptops : $1,156,177 per year
  • 400 laptops : $1,541,569 per year
  • 500 laptops : $1,926,961 per year
  • 600 laptops : $2,312,353 per year
  • 700 laptops : $2,697,745 per year
  • 800 laptops : $3,083,138 per year
  • 900 laptops : $3,468,530 per year

So there you have it – this small cryptocurrency mining operation can potentially make almost US$ 3.5 million in a single year.

But what’s the ROI, you say?

The Chinese OEM, Hasee, offers a GeForce RTX 3060 gaming laptop with a starting price of just RMB 6,499 (approximately RM4,089 / US$1,005 / £732 / A$1,309 / S$1,340).

And the video shows that this mining operation is using the same, or similar, Hasee RTX gaming laptops.

Let’s say they paid a 20% scalper’s premium, and purchased all 900 Hasee RTX 3060 laptops for a cool US$1,085,400.

Let’s further round that up to US$1.1 million for miscellaneous costs – shelving units, lights, fans, etc. including US$500 per month for rental.

Based on those assumptions, their net profit for the 900-laptop mining farm would be US$2,368,530 per year, at current prices.

That’s an incredibly high ROI of 17.9% per month, which is 67% higher ROI than the 78-card GeForce RTX 3080 mining rig!

After recovering the cost of the entire mining farm ($1.1 million) in just over 3 months, everything else they make after that is pure profit (after deducting rental and electricity costs), unless they are stealing the electricity!

With such great ROI, you can count on cryptocurrency miners to buy up ALL the GeForce RTX 30 series laptops they can get their hands on!

GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop Mining : Over 30% ROI?!

Here is the new craze in cryptocurrency mining – GeForce RTX 3060 laptop mining rigs!

Take a look at new laptop mining rigs in China, and find out how much they can make!

GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop Mining : The New Craze!

Supplies of desktop graphics cards are low, and prices are sky-high, and here’s more bad news – miners are coming for the laptops too!

A Weibo blogger called 神鱼BTCer just shared photos of different GeForce RTX 30 series laptop mining rigs!

BTCer claims they are all “home-based”, but we have no idea whether they are his, or from different cryptocurrency mining operations.

But in a response to a question, he said that the best way to keep them cool is by putting them in a sort of “tent mode”.

This picture shows four stacks of GeForce RTX 3060 laptops made by Chinese OEM Hasee, powered on (you can see the green light).

Hasee offers a GeForce RTX 3060 gaming laptop that has a starting price of just RMB 6,499 (approximately RM4,089 / US$1,005 / £732 / A$1,309 / S$1,340).

These twenty Hasee GeForce RTX 30 series gaming laptops would cost just over US$20,000.

This seems like a waste of power – leaving their displays turned on. But leaving the display up would definitely improve cooling.

How Much Money Can RTX 3060 Laptop Mining Rigs Make?

A Bilibili content creator Fish Pond f2pool demonstrated how fast someone with a GeForce RTX 3060 laptop can “mine” cryptocurrency.

She plugged in her GeForce RTX 3060 laptop into a power socket at Starbucks, and mined 0.00053009 ETH over 2 hours while she sipped her coffee.

On 5 February 2021, Ethereum closed at US$1,680.497, so she mined enough during her coffee break to make US$0.89 or RMB 5.76.

Not quite enough to pay for her coffee (about RMB 28), but at least the electricity is FREE!

Based on her experience, we can guesstimate that the average GeForce RTX 3060 laptop will be able to produce :

  • 0.000265045 ETH per hour
  • 0.00636108 ETH per day
  • 0.1908324 ETH per month (30 days)
  • 2.3217942 ETH per year

So that mining rig with 20 Hasee laptops you saw up there could make, at current prices, about :

  • $8.908 per hour
  • $213.80 per day
  • $6,413.87 per month (30 days)
  • $78,035 per year

Chinese electricity costs about RMB 0.545 (US$0.084) per kWh.

Assuming each laptop uses about 250 watts of power (including whatever external fans he may have), that works out to about US$3,679.20 per year.

So his net profit for the 20-laptop mining rig would be US$74,356 per year, at current prices.

That’s an incredible ROI of 30.8% per month, which means he will recover the cost of the entire rig ($20,100) in just under 3.5 months!

This is actually 2.9X higher ROI than the 78-card GeForce RTX 3080 mining rig!

With such great ROI, you can count on cryptocurrency miners to buy up hoards of GeForce RTX 30 series laptops!

Gaming PC Catches Fire : Was It The RTX 3090 Or The PSU?

A Chinese gamer recently found his gaming PC on fire. Not like raking up the FPS in a game, but literally ON FIRE.

Take a look at the pictures, and tell us what do you think was the culprit!

Gaming PC Catches Fire : Was It The RTX 3090 Or The PSU?

A Chinese gamer came back from lunch, to find out that his PC was smoking and then, it caught fire and burned to a crisp. The fire took out the PlayStation 5 that was next to it.

He shared that his gaming PC was assembled in January 2020, and he only upgraded it last week with the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3090 graphics card, and the Seasonic PRIME TX-1000 power supply.

That led to claims that it was either one of those two components that caused the fire. Take a look at these pictures, and see if you can figure out what happened…

Those who claim that no PS5 were injured in this fire, you can actually see the melted PlayStation 5 console to the left of the burnt gaming PC.

This was what it looked like inside the Cooler Master C700M chassis, after the fire was extinguished.

The yellow powder is ammonium phosphate, which is the main compound in dry chemical fire extinguishers. Great for quickly dousing electrical fires, but horrible for cleaning up.

There is literally nothing to salvage from this gaming PC – ammonium phosphate is corrosive and sticks to everything.

This is what the ASUS ROG Strix RTX3090 graphics card looked like after being strayed with fire extinguishing powder.

Note that the three 8-pin PCI Express power cables connected to the card have been burnt down to their copper wires, which turn green when oxidised.

Good cable management didn’t help against the fire… The green “fibres” are exposed copper wires in the cables – copper turns green when oxidised.

Here is what it looks like from the back of the motherboard tray…

While the Seasonic PRIME Titanium TX-1000 power supply appears intact, it is still a suspect and a possible accessory to the “crime”.

In fact, it looked like the power supply continued to supply electricity to whatever short circuit set off the fire, turning it into a major blaze.

Update : The gamer pointed out that he used only the original PSU cables. No third-party cables.

The wall behind the PC was scorched, and while the power points were initially suspected to be the cause, they were later ruled out – they are still working.

What Do You Think Made This Gaming PC Catch Fire?

This was the system specifications of his gaming PC :

CPU : Intel Core i9-9900KS
CPU Cooler : Corsair Hydro H150i Pro
Motherboard : ASUS ROG Maximus XI HERO
RAM : 4 x 8 GB G.SKILL DDR4-3200
Graphics Card : ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3090 Gaming *
Storage : 2 x 500 GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus, 2TB Hikvision C2000 Pro
Chassis : Cooler Master C700M
Chassis Fans : 6 x ThermalTake Riing Plus 12

Power Supply : Seasonic PRIME Titanium TX-1000 **

* it was called an ASUS ROG RTX 3090 Raptor in the translation, apparently ASUS used 猛禽 instead of Strix in China, and that translates as Raptor.
** for those who have never heard of Seasonic, it is one of the largest PSU makers in the world

So what do you think set off the fire? Could it really be the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3090 Gaming graphics card? Another case of overheating ROG graphics cards?

Or was it the Seasonic PRIME Titanium TX-1000 power supply? It may be top-of-the-line, but nothing is infallible!

Or could it be some other component? Like the motherboard? Or did the CPU water cooler leak? Tell us what YOU think!

Did China Create This Amazing Female Dancing Robot?

Did China create this amazing female dancing robot for a dance show in Shanghai?

Watch the viral video for yourself, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Did China Create This Amazing Dancing Robot?

Here is the video that countless people have been sharing on social media and even on YouTube. It is often paired with a short explanation in (broken) English.

Can u believe that this female dancer is robot ? The dance was held in Shanghai n it lasted only 5 minutes but the queue was 4hrs n cost 499 Yuan!

It has surpassed Japan in complexity, and saw its perfect facial expressions. Send this video to everyone to watch, let us enjoy together…

Amazing Female Dancing Robot : The Truth

The agility and grace of this female dancing robot, and its facial expressions, are incredible.

The less gullible would point out that it is something you would only expect from a real human being, and they would be right.

Fact #1 : That Is A Video Of A WDSF Competition

That is actually a video clip from the 2018 World Dance Sport Federation Championship in Lithuania.

The initials WDSF (World Dance Sport Federation) can be seen, together with the recording date at the upper left corner of the video.

Fact #2 : The Dance Only Lasted A Minute

The dance in the video only lasted just over a minute, even though the accompanying fake message claimed it lasted for 5 minutes.

Fact #3 : Those Are Lithuanian Dance Champions

Both dancers are very human. In fact, they are Lithuanian dance champions Ieva Zukauskaite (female), and Evaldas Sodeika (male).

Fact #4 : 499 Yuan Was The Entry Price To Shanghai Disneyland

The fake story claimed that the ticket to watch this performance costs 499 Yuan – about US$73 / £55 / RM303. That would be ridiculously exorbitant for a short dance.

In truth, that was “copied” from the two earlier hoaxes (here and here) about robot dancers at the Shanghai Disneyland.

Even that was not accurate, because 499 Yuan was the cost of an entry ticket to the Shanghai Disneyland when it first opened in February 2016.

Since 6 June 2018, it has been priced at 399 Yuan (off-peak), 575 Yuan (peak) and 665 Yuan (peak holiday).

Why Would Someone Create This Fake Story?

With China’s aggressive foreign stance in recent years, it is not uncommon to see such fake stories being created and shared.

Some believe it’s part of a concerted attempt to burnish China’s image overseas.

Others believe the many fake stories are being created to drown out the negative coverage of China’s controversial Belt and Road Initiative, and their aggressive moves in the South China Sea.

Whatever the reasons may be, it is our duty as global citizens to stop the proliferation of such fake stories.

Please share this fact check with your friends, so they know the truth!

Are Hackers Using Good Morning Messages To Hack You?

Are hackers using Good Morning videos, pictures and messages to hack your devices, and steal your data?

Find out what is happening, and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Hackers Are Using Good Morning Messages To Hack You!

This post about Chinese hackers using Good Morning videos, pictures and messages to hack your devices, has gone viral on social media and WhatsApp :

Dear friends, please delete all welcome photos and videos in Good Morning format and the like. Read below the article to the end, which will be clear why I ask about it. From now on I will only send personally prepared greetings.

Read it all !!! Send this message urgently to as many friends as you can to stop the invasion.

Olga Nikolaevna Lawyer: Caution:
ATTENTION

For those who like to send Good Morning pictures! Good day! Good evening!

Do not send these “good” messages.

Today, Shanghai China International News sent SOS to all subscribers (this is the third reminder) that experts recommend: please do not send good morning, good night, pictures and videos,.
Reports show that hackers in China designed the images, the video is so beautiful to hide the phishing codes inside them, when everyone sends these messages, the hackers use your devices to steal personal information, such as bank card information and data to crack the phone.

It has been reported that more than 500,000 victims of fraud have already been deceived.

If you want to greet others, write your own message to protect yourself and your family and friends.

Important! Delete all greeting messages and pictures that you have on your phone for your own safety. If someone sent you such a picture, immediately remove it from the device. Malicious code takes time to deploy, so if you act immediately, no harm will be done.

Tell all your friends about this to prevent hacking.

Greet others by writing your own words, and send only images you create. The material you create yourself is completely safe. Please understand me correctly! All have credit cards attached to their phone. Everyone has a lot of contacts in their phones. You will create a threat not only to yourself, but to all the contacts that you have on your phones, your friends and acquaintances.
Take this very carefully! This is a harsh reality

ATTENTION !!!
Urgent information !!!

Some people have already restricted..!

Hackers Using Good Morning Messages To Hack You : Just Another Hoax!

Many of get blasted with Good Morning or Good Night messages every day from well-meaning friends and family.

While they are literally spam that clog up Facebook, Telegram and WhatsApp groups, they really do NOT allow hackers to hack your devices.

While it would be nice to see people stop this irritating practice, here are the reasons why Good Morning messages are harmless…

Fact #1 : Shanghai China International News Does Not Exist

The news organisation, Shanghai China International News, that was stated in the hoax does not exist.

Fact #2 : No Reports On Hackers Designing Good Morning Pictures + Videos

There are no reports on hackers from China or anywhere else creating these Good Morning pictures and videos.

In fact, they are mostly created by websites and Facebook pages for people to share, and hopefully attract new followers.

Fact #3 : No Fraud Involving Good Morning Messages

There has been no fraud involving Good Morning or even Good Night messages, videos or pictures.

Certainly, half a million victims of such a scam would have made front page news. Yet there is not a single report on even one case.

Fact #4 : Image-Based Malware Is Possible, But…

Digital steganography is a method by which secret messages and other data can be hidden in digital files, like a photo or a video, or even a music file.

It is also possible to embed malicious code within a Good Morning photo, but it won’t be a full-fledged malware that can execute by itself. At most, it can be used to hide the malware payload from antivirus scanners.

In January 2019, cybercriminals created an online advertisement with a script. The script itself would appear innocuous and pass any check.

However, the image itself has an “almost white” rectangle that is recognised by the script, triggering it to redirect the user to the cybercriminals’ website.

Once there, the victim is tricked into installing a Trojan disguised as an Adobe Flash Player update.

Fact #5 : Malicious Code Executes Immediately

If you accidentally download and trigger malware, it will execute immediately. It won’t wait, as the hoax message claims.

Deleting Good Morning or Good Night photos or videos will free up storage space in your phone, but it won’t prevent any malware from executing.

Also, most malware require some sort of action to trigger their execution. Generally (but not always), just downloading a malware won’t trigger it.

Nobel laureate Tasuku Honjo confident US created COVID-19?

Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Tasuku Honjo allegedly said that he is confident that the US created the COVID-19 coronavirus, which is not a natural virus based on his research.

Find out what he said, and if it’s true that the US created the COVID-19 coronavirus!

Updated @ 2020-11-28 : Added the Chinese variant of the story, including other updates.

Originally posted @ 2020-04-27

Claim : Tasuku Honjo Confident US Created COVID-19!

This is the article that has been going viral on social media since April 2020.

SHOCKING
令人震惊 日本的生理学和醫學教授本庶佑(Tasuku Honjo)博士証明新冠狀病毒來自美国

Japan’s professor of Physiology & Medicine, Professor Dr Tasuku Honjo, created a sensation in front of the media today by saying that the corona virus is not natural. If it is natural, it wouldn’t have adversely affected entire world like this, as per nature.
日本的生理学和醫學教授本庶佑(Tasuku Honjo)博士 (註一)今天在媒体面前製造了轟動,他说冠狀病毒不是天然的。如果這是自然的,根據性質, 它不會對整個世界造成這樣的負面影響。

Temperature is different in different countries. if it is natural, it would’ve adversely affected only those countries having same temperature as China. Instead, It is spreading in a country like Switzerland, in the same way it is spreading in the desert areas.
不同的國家有不同溫度。如果它是自然的,它只會對那些與中國溫度相同的國家產生不利影響。相反,它正在瑞士這樣的國家傳播,就像它在沙漠地區傳播一樣。

On 25 April 2020, Mir Monaz Haque, the Editor-In-Chief of Asia Today, posted this variant on his Facebook page (now deleted) without comment, lending further credence to the story :

SHOCKING

Japan’s professor of Physiology or Medicine, Professor Dr Tasuku Honjo, created a sensation in front of the media today by saying that the corona virus is not natural.

Tasuku Honjo confident US created COVID-19? Complete Bullshit

This story is such complete bullshit and appears to be a bastardised version of the original hoax which blamed China.

  • Professor Tasuku Honjo issued a statement refuting those claims.
  • Professor Tasuku Honjo does not work on viruses, and has never said that the virus is artificial.
  • Genomic analysis have proven that SARS-CoV-2 is a natural virus that is very closely-related to bat coronaviruses.
  • Multiple strains in the USA would prove that it is not the origin of COVID-19 virus.
  • The COVID-19 pandemic started in Wuhan, China… not Maryland, USA

Tasuku Honjo Confident USA Created COVID-19 : The Facts

For those who are thinking to themselves, “How do you know it’s fake? You were NOT there!“, here are the reasons why we know for sure…

Fact #1 : Viruses Can Spread In Cold + Warm Climates

While certain viruses spread easier in warmer climates, other viruses spread better in colder climates.

The susceptibility of a virus to humidity and temperature depends on whether it has a lipid bilayer envelope or not.

The COVID-19 coronavirus is enveloped, and is thus more likely to spread better in cold, dry climates. But that doesn’t mean it cannot spread well in warm, humid climates.

Fact #2 : SARS-CoV-2 Is Natural, And Related To Bat Coronaviruses

Genomic analysis have proven that the COVID-19 is natural, for these reasons :

  • an artificial virus would have to be created from existing viruses and their genetic data
  • the SARS-CoV-2 virus has components that have never been seen before
  • it is very similar to existing bat coronaviruses.

Fact #3 : Professor Honjo Does Not Work On Viruses

Tasuku Honjo is a professor of Immunology and Genomic Medicine. He has only worked on immunology, not virology.

His 2018 Nobel Prize, in particular, was for his work on stimulating the immune system to attack tumour cells in cancer.

Fact #4 : Tasuku Honjo Issued A Statement Refuting The Claim

Professor Honjo issued this statement through one of his PhD students :

Prof. Honjo never gave any such statement. Each and every sentence of this post is completely false and has no connection with truth.

Prof. Honjo never worked in Wuhan laboratory. He never called there. He did not work on virus origin and functions and other related issues.

All the contents are just concocted and nothing else.

Fact #5 : Tasuku Honjo Said COVID-19 Originated In China

In an interview with Nikkei Asian Review on 10 April 2020, Professor Tasuku Honjo said that COVID-19 originated in China, but also that it will be the first country to recover from it.

However, he never said that it was manufactured or created by China. Originating in a country, is quite different from creating it.

Fact #6 : Multiple Strains Denote A Later Time Line

Viruses mutate and create new strains over time. A novel virus like COVID-19 would start with a single strain and evolve into multiple strains as it spreads globally and mutate over time.

Fact #7 : Earliest COVID-19 Death In US Was In February 2020

The CDC did not wrongly diagnose COVID-19 deaths in the US from July to December 2019.

The earliest death from COVID-19 in the US was revised on 22 April 2020, with the diagnosis of three COVID-19 deaths in Santa Clara, California :

  • a 57 year-old woman on 6 February 2020
  • a 69 year-old man on 17 February 2020
  • a 70 year-old man on 6 March 2020

Fact #8 : Fort Detrick Was Closed Because Of Sterilisation Plant Failure

The CDC temporarily shut down the US Army lab at Fort Detrick on 2 August 2019, after finding “biosafety lapses” there.

Conspiracy theorists pounced on that as “evidence” that COVID-19 may have leaked from Fort Detrick, but a quick check would reveal that :

  • the shutdown was ordered because the lab was no longer able to decontaminate wastewater from its highest security labs.
  • the lab’s steam sterilisation plant was damaged in a flood in May 2018, and they had been using a chemical decontamination method instead.
  • no disease-causing materials were found outside authorised areas
  • if SARS-CoV-2 leaked from Fort Detrick, Maryland would have been the epicentre of the COVID-19 outbreak, not Wuhan.

Fact #9 : SARS-CoV-2 Is Just ONE Of Many Coronaviruses

Conspiracy theorists keep saying that coronavirus deaths were reported long before SARS-CoV-2 appeared in Wuhan.

But the fact of the matter is – SARS-CoV-2 is merely one of many coronaviruses in the world, including SARS and MERS!

The earliest cases of COVID-19 have so far been traced back to Wuhan, China.

Why Would Someone Create This Fake Story?

With China’s aggressive foreign policy moves in recent years, it is not uncommon to see fake pro-China, anti-America stories being created and shared.

Many believe it’s part of a concerted attempt to burnish China’s image overseas, and to drown out negative coverage of China’s controversial Belt and Road Initiative, and their aggressive moves in the South China Sea..

This COVID-19 was made in the US is also part of the narrative China has been trying to push, after US President Donald Trump blamed them for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whatever the reasons may be, it is our duty as global citizens to stop the proliferation of such fake stories.

Please share this fact check with your friends, so they know the truth!

Fact #1 : That Is A Video Of A CBDF Competition

That is actually a video clip from one of the many competitions organised and broadcast by the CBDF (Chinese Ballroom Dance Federation).

Although we cannot ascertain who the dancers are, you can see the CBDF logo in the background, at 4:06 and 4:41.

No robot made today can match their agility and grace.

Fact #2 : 499 Yuan Was The Entry Price To Shanghai Disneyland

The fake story claimed that the ticket to watch this performance costs 499 Yuan – about US$73 / £55 / RM303. That would be ridiculously exorbitant for a single show.

In truth, that was the cost of an entry ticket to the Shanghai Disneyland when it first opened in February 2016.

Since 6 June 2018, it has been priced at 399 Yuan (off-peak), 575 Yuan (peak) and 665 Yuan (peak holiday).

Fact #3 : Disneyland Does Not Charge Extra To Watch Certain Shows

Anyone who has been to Disneyland knows that the entry fee is pricey. That’s because it covers all rides and shows inside Disneyland.

You only need to pay for food and drinks, and arcade games. Or if you opt to purchase Disney Fastpasses (Fastpass, FastPass+, MaxPass) to bypass long queues at popular rides or shows.

Otherwise, all rides and shows are free to enjoy once you enter Disneyland.

Please share this debunking with your friends, so they know the truth!

Elbow Pit Slapping For Heart Attack : Does It Work?

Elbow pit slapping has been recommended for treating and preventing heart attack for many years now, but does it really work?

Elbow Pit Slapping For Heart Attack : What Is It?

The elbow pit slapping method is based on traditional Chinese medicine belief that there are three acupressure (meridian) points around the left arm, that affects the heart and lungs.

The idea is that slapping the left elbow pit, until it turns red, will restore qi (energy) and blood circulation to the heart and lungs.

It also claims that slapping the left elbow pit on a daily basis can prevent heart disease, and reduce the risk of a heart attack.

Elbow Pit Slapping For Heart Attack : The Evidence?

This video is being shared as evidence that the elbow pit slapping method really works in reviving patients suffering from a heart attack.

It showed a man who apparently had a heart attack while watching a movie in a cinema. A Chinese sinseh (traditional doctor) then revived him by slapping his elbow pit for 2 minutes.

It is often accompanied by a story, which varies a fair bit. But in our example, the incident happened in Singapore :

Sudden heart attack in the theater at Singapore. The Singapore doctor & helpers patted their hands on the patient’s arms and she recovered after 02 minutes.

This video provides advice on emergency situations for heart patients. Attention and how to deal with heart attacks that usually occur suddenly! Many people so helpless and died on the way to the hospital!

Please remember:

1. By patting inner elbow of the left arm in the video, there are 03 accupresure points around the left arm that are related to the heart and lungs.

2. By patting these two arms, the blood circulation will be accelerated, feeling warm and not sweating.

3. You need to know that the heart attack is blocked by blood circulation. By tapping & patting the arm, you can increase the temperature, avoid agglomeration and it smooths blood circulation, then immediately go to the hospital.

4. It is good to pat this part (inner side of left arm elbow) every day because it can prevent any heart disease and can reduce the incidence of heart attack!

If you find this information useful, share it with friends and family because you can live!.

Elbow Pit Slapping For Heart Attack : The Truth

Fact #1 : Slapping The Elbow Pit Does Not Help Treat / Prevent Heart Attack

The truth is slapping the elbow pit will not revive someone with a heart attack. Neither can slapping your elbow pit on a daily basis help prevent heart disease, or a heart attack.

There is simply no scientific basis, never mind fact, behind such claims.

Traditional Chinese medical practitioners can claim whatever they like, but until they prove that it works, it is simply DANGEROUS to teach people to do this.

If you encounter someone suffering from a heart attack, you should quickly call for an ambulance, and perform CPR!

Do NOT play TCM doctor! You could well cost someone his/her life!

Fact #2 : It Has Been Debunked By Taiwanese Doctors

In the debunking video above, a segment from Formosa TV English News, showed that the Taiwanese Ministry of Health and Welfare asked doctors to publicly debunk this elbow pit slapping method.

They pointed out that believing such fake stories could result in poor outcomes for the victims, because proper treatment would likely be delayed.

Fact #3 : It Does Not Appear To Have Happened In Singapore

The incident in the viral video very likely did not happen in Singapore.

A careful listening of the voices will reveal that they are speaking Mandarin, with a Chinese accent. So it most likely happened in China.

Fact #4 : It Does Not Look Like They Were Watching A Movie

A careful examination of the video will show that while they appear to be in a mini theatre, they don’t appear to be watching a movie.

A purple podium with Chinese characters can be seen on the left side of the screen, and the staff appears to be wearing purple uniforms – one is even wearing an orange sash.

It is possible that this may be some kind of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) seminar being held in a cinema.

Fact #5 : The Man Doesn’t Look Like He Had A Heart Attack

The man did not appear to be suffering from a heart attack. Instead of clutching his chest in pain, and breaking out in cold sweat, he was just unconscious.

And when they revived him, he appeared disorientated, shook his head and got up several times. He also appeared to be breathing normally.

Fact Check : Meng Wanzhou Released By Canadian Court?

A photo of HUAWEI CFO Meng Wanzhou being freed by the Canadian court is going viral on social media.

Check out the viral photo for yourself, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Meng Wanzhou Released By Canadian Court!

This photo and accompanying English translation of the Chinese message is going viral on social media.

Just received…

“Canadian court have thrown out all detention charges against Meng Wanzhou.”

In the pic, the tracing device on her angle is being removed.

“The princess of Huawei free to return home in 4 days latest” it said.

Meng Wanzhou Released By Canadian Court? Here Are The Facts!

The picture is genuine, but the entire premise and claim are FALSE. Here are the facts…

Fact #1 : Meng Wanzhou Is Still Under House Arrest In Canada

As of 10 September 2020, Meng Wanzhou is still under house arrest in Canada, awaiting the reopening of her extradition case in late September 2020.

Just four days ago, Global Times – a Chinese state-run media outlet – reiterated the demand by Chinese ambassador to Canada that they release Meng Wanzhou to repair relations between their two countries.

Fact #2 : That Was A Staged Photo Op From May 2020

The photo being shared on social media is genuine, but it was from her staged photo op on 23 May 2020. As reported by CBC :

With a momentous court ruling that could deliver her freedom days away, Meng Wanzhou appeared to take a premature victory lap on the weekend, posing for pictures and flashing a thumbs-up on the steps of B.C. Supreme Court.

The Huawei executive took part in a staged downtown Vancouver photo shoot as security guards stood watch Saturday evening. She jumped out of a black SUV to take centre stage once a group of family and friends had arranged themselves in front of a photographer.

She took part in that staged photo op just before B.C. Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice Heather Holmes planned to announce her decision on double criminality, which could have ended the extradition process.

Days later, on 27 May 2020, Associate Chief Justice Heather Holmes ruled that the extradition case against Meng Wanzhou should proceed.

Fact #3 : They Were Not Removing Her Ankle Monitor

The photo that people were sharing as evidence that her ankle monitor was being removed was taken by Ben Nelms of CBC.

This was his description of the photo – Friends assist Meng with her GPS ankle monitoring bracelet as she prepares for photographs in front of the B.C. Supreme Court building.

NO, her ankle monitor was not being removed. Her friends was just helping her cover it up for the photo op.

She continues to wear a GPS ankle monitor, as part of the requirement for her house arrest while awaiting trial.

Fact #4 : She Is NOT Free To Return To China

The viral post claims that Meng Wanzhou is free to return to China in just 4 days at the latest. Sadly for her, that’s not true.

She remains under house arrest, and is unlikely to return to China soon as her extradition case will only take place in late September 2020.

That’s why her dance is so amazing – no robot made today can match her grace.
