3 MAY 2017 – Canon Marketing (Malaysia) today marked the completion of its imageRUNNER ADVANCE (iR-ADV) Generation 3 line-up with the launch of the new Canon iR-ADV C3500i and iR-ADV 4500i series.

 

Intuitive user experience

Equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, the new iR-ADV series offer an intuitive user experience with familiar smartphone-like gestures such as swiping and pinching for easy navigation across the local user interface. Besides intuitive operation, the usability of the MFDs is enhanced with My ADVANCE that enables the personalisation of settings and workflows.

Depending on individual preferences and the nature of tasks, users can customise display language, initial display screen, frequently-used settings, address lists and more, providing a simple approach to streamline workflows. Users can benefit from the same level of customisation via My ADVANCE Synchronisation, where personal settings are synchronised automatically amongst a fleet of up to ten different Generation 3 devices in a networked environment for improved efficiencies.

 

Seamless connectivity

Modern workflows require connection to varied external sources and function in a flexible manner to suit today’s on-the-go workforce. The new iR-ADV series fulfill the requirements of such agile working environments by supporting a wide range of mobile document handling applications such as Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and MOPRIA, as well as Canon PRINT Business. The seamless mobile connectivity allows users to execute critical tasks efficiently, and transfer documents anywhere at the convenience of their time via their connected smart devices.

Furthermore, with confidential data regularly moving between various devices, the iR-ADV series provides the user protection through its security capabilities. Kuala Lumpur, 21 April 2016 – Canon today announced the launch of the third generation of imageRUNNER ADVANCE (iR-ADV) A3 multi-function devices (MFDs). Designed and engineered to deliver the holistic document imaging needs of users today with speed and reliability, the new iR-ADV MFDs feature a new user interface for enhanced ease of use, and innovative features to improve workflows, maximise productivity and reinforce security.

Intelligent Document Feeder enables advanced media handling capabilities such as the skip blank page function and double feed detection which minimizes the time taken to process and organise your documents accurately, thus improving productivity.

With connectivity vital for mobile workers in the digital age, the latest iR-ADV series is further enhanced with standard Wi-Fi connectivity function, allowing users to print wirelessly and obtain direct access point to support printing directly from their smart devices and scanning to their smart devices.

Security and Reliability Features for Additional Protection & Fleet Management

Security is a cornerstone of every business infrastructure. Hard Disk Drive (HDD) security in a MFD is an ongoing a concern to businesses for protecting information integrity. With the new iR-ADV devices, comprehensive HDD security comes standard with features such as HDD Data Erase, HDD Password Lock and HDD Encryption which is FIPS 140-2 validated.

Fleet management is made easy with the third generation of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE. Built-in with Remote Operator Software Kit, IT administrators are able to remotely assist users during troubleshooting without the need to be physically at the device. This enhances productivity and directs resource management in a more efficient manner. Content Delivery System (CDS) provides a way to automate firmware updates via eMaintenance allowing the entire device fleet to be updated in tandem. Scheduled updates can be arranged to take place during off-peak hours to further reduce interruptions.

 

Sustainable Design with Cost-Management Features

Canon maintains its reliable design with the environment in mind. The series offers an Intelligent Recovery module, which automatically recovers the device from sleep mode when users are detected approaching via motion sensors. The device will intelligently shift back to sleep mode when it is not being utilised, reducing power consumption. Users are now able to modify initial print settings at the device with the Forced Hold Print function, providing added convenience to users before print. Additionally, this function helps reduce toner wastage from accidental prints over a period of time.

With the addition of an optional external finisher, the iR-ADV series offers environmentally friendly features such as ECO-Staple, which also facilitates more compact document stacking and can be easily shredded.

 

Canon iR-ADV 6500i/8500 Availability

The first of the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE series is the monochrome iR-ADV 6500i/8500 series, which will be available at authorised Canon distributors and dealers from 21st April 2016 onwards.
