Were French People Caught Urinating On African Child?!

Were French People Caught Urinating On African Child?!

Were the French people just caught urinating on an African child, while filming their vile act?!

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : French People Were Caught Urinating On African Child!

People are sharing a video on WhatsApp and Facebook, claiming that the French people were just caught urinating on an African child after the French ambassador in Mali was expelled!

The video has also been promoted or shared by pro-CCP netizens and the Chinese 50 Cent Army (wumao, 五毛).

On WhatsApp : Lets make this go viral until the people responsible for this human rights abuse are arrested and prosecuted. This is the filth of France, the ugliest scandal of the twenty-first century!!!

The inhuman and shocking scene of two men and a woman urinating on an African child, in one of the French villages, and the child, completely stripped of clothes, lying face down on the ground, while numbers of The French men and women, whose country has always shocked the world with the sophistication of their civilization, are watching this obscene, dirty, and abnormal act, without any sign of intervention from any of them!!!

This was after the state of Mali expelled the French ambassador. The French arrested one of the Malians in a French village and urinated on him publicly. Africa must wake up to see the true, ugly face of France.

We regret the ugliness and horror of the scene, but where are the human rights advocates in this? It is unfortunate that globally Black Africans are associated with misfortune everywhere.

Truth : French People Did Not Urinate On African Child!

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS circulating on WhatsApp, and social media platforms like Facebook, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : This Is An Old Video

First, let me start by pointing out that this incident did not occur in 2023. The video was actually recorded on January 17, 2013. So it is more than ten years old!

Fact #2 : There Was No African Child / Woman

The child / woman who was being peed on in the viral video is not an African child or woman.

That is actually Guatemalan performance artist, Regina José Galindo, who covered her body in black coal.

Born on 27 August 1974, Regina was 39 years old when that video was recorded, and is 49 years old in 2023.

Fact #3 : Video Was Recorded In Brazil

The video was not recorded in Mali, but thousands of kilometres away, in São Paulo, Brazil.

To be specific, the video was recorded at Departamento de Artes Cênicas (CAC) – the Department of Performing Arts, which is part of the School of Communications and Arts (ECA) of the University of São Paulo.

Recommended : Did Woman Smash Bottles Of Alcohol In Lawless US?!

Fact #3 : It Was Performance Art Called Piedra

The video is actually a 2013 performance called Piedra (Spanish for stone), which aims to expose the history of violence against Latin American women, and address the exploitation of the female workers of Brazil’s colossal coal mining industry.

In the Piedra performance, Regina painted her body black and crouched into a petrified metal position. Every 10 minutes, a male-bodied “audience member” would approach Galindo, unbutton their pants and pee on her as she remained deathly still.

The obvious nonchalant attitude and ease in which these male-bodied actors could defile the artist’s body parallels the wide-spread apathy regarding the safety and care of women’s bodies. The public aspect of the performance only “further underscores the myopic nature of everyday actions that propel repetitive structural violence.”

In presenting her body as an insignificant piedra (Spanish for stone), Galindo is suggesting a quality of disposability, with the female body vulnerable (like a stone) to violent abuse.

Piedra : The history of humanity has remained inscribed on the bodies of Latin American women. On their bodies— conquered, marked, enslaved, objectified, exploited, and tortured—one can read the terrible stories of power and struggle that shape our past. Bodies are fragile only in their appearance. It is the female body that has survived conquest and slavery. Like a stone, it has stored the hatred and rancor of memory in order to transform it into energy and life.

Fact #4 : This Video Is Being Abused By Different Parties

This video is, unfortunately, being abused by different parties to drive narratives that are contrary to what actually happened.

Some African netizens are sharing it to fan the deeply-rooted anti-French sentiment in West Africa, after a series of military coups in Mali, Niger, Guinea, and Burkina Faso.

On the other hand, pro-CCP netizens and the Chinese 50 Cent Army (wumao, 五毛) are using the video to fan anti-West sentiments in Africa (where China is making inroads), and draw attention away from criticisms of their “re-education” activities in Xinjiang.

As you have seen – the truth is they were all lying / misrepresenting the video. Here are other examples you may have seen on WhatsApp or social media platforms recently:

Winnie the Pooh patch : TW’s middle finger to Xi Jinping!

The Taiwanese-designed Winnie the Pooh patch is flying off shelves, as people start wearing it as a middle finger to Chinese President Xi Jin Ping!

Winnie the Pooh Aviation Suit Patch Goes Viral!

Aviation suit patches designed by Taiwanese artist, Alec Hsu, have gone viral, after the Taiwanese military news agency published a photo of a Taiwanese pilot wearing the patch on his suit.

That particular aviation suit patch shows Winnie the Pooh – a reference to Chinese President Xi Jinping (習近平), getting socked in the face by an angry Formosan black bear!

The poor bear is often used to mock Chinese President Xi Jinping. So often that Chinese censors not only actively target all mention or postings of the lovable bear, China even banned the release of 2018 Christopher Robin movie, and the 2023 slasher movie Winnie-the-Pooh : Blood and Honey!

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) may not like it, but the Taiwanese are really loving it, with a surge in demand for the patches.

Winnie the Pooh patch is a middle finger to Xi Jinping!

Alec Hau Fu-yu (徐福佑) designed and started selling the patches last year at his Taoyuan shop, Wings Fan Journal. But they didn’t go viral until one appeared on the suit of the Taiwanese pilot who was inspecting his fighter jet.

Hsu, who served in the Air Force during his mandatory military service, said that he created the badges of his own accord, and that they have nothing to do with Taiwan’s military.

I wanted to boost the morale of our troops through designing this patch.

After his badges went viral, he ordered more of them to be made to meet the increased demand. He noted that sewing such patches onto military jackets is a long-standing practice to commemorate different missions or tasks.

Recommended : China Unveils New Incentives For Wumao + CCP Uncles!

There appears to be at least two versions of the Winnie the Pooh patch, with a red or a blue background.

Both red and blue versions depict an angry Formosan black bear holding a Republic of China flag in its left hand, while punching Winnie the Pooh, who is dressed in its signature red shirt while holding onto a honey pot with the 5 stars from the Chinese flag engraved on it.

Both versions also have the slogan, Scramble! – referring to the act of quickly sending military aircraft to intercept hostile aircraft. In recent years, Taiwanese pilots have had to often scramble to intercept Chinese aircraft entering Taiwan’s Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ).

The red version has the slogan, WE ARE OPEN 24/7; while the blue version has the slogan, FIGHT FOR FREEDOM.

Recommended : Did Chinese Jamming Attacks Force US Navy To Withdraw?!

These patches went viral during a time of great tension between China and Taiwan, after Taiwanese president Tsai Ing-wen returned to Taipei after meeting US House of Representative Speaker Kevin McCarthy. China reacted by launching 3 days of military exercises called Joint Sword a day later, simulating attacks and a blockade of Taiwan

The “scramble” for these uniquely Taiwanese badges goes to show just what the Taiwanese people think of how China has behaved. These patches are a symbol of their defiance and resistance to Chinese aggression.

Buying and wearing these patches is perhaps their way to show their middle finger to Chinese President Xi Jinping, while not targeting China the country itself.

For its part, the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF) say that it does not “particularly encourage” its members to wear the patch as it is not part of their uniform, but it “will maintain an open attitude” to anything that raises morale.

Roman Charity : Why Woman Breastfed Man In Prison!

The painting of a young woman breastfeeding an old man in prison has gone viral.

Take a look at the viral claim and find out what the facts really are!

Viral Claim About Woman Breastfeeding Old Man In Prison

This photo of a classical painting is being shared on WhatsApp, social media platforms like Facebook, and even Reddit, together with this claim:

This painting of a young woman breastfeeding an old man in a prison cell was sold for 30 million Euros. The painting may look perverse but the story behind is from historical records.

The poor man was sentenced to “death by starvation” for stealing a loaf of bread during the reign of Louis XIV in France. The woman was his only daughter and the only visitor to his cell. She was allowed to visit him daily but was frisked thoroughly such that no food was taken in.

When after 4 months the man still survived with no weight loss, the authorities were perplexed and started spying on her in the cell and to their utter astonishment found her to breastfeed her father to the fullest sharing her baby’s milk. The judges then realizing the compassion and love of the woman for her father, pardoned the father and set him free.

This piece of history brings into focus how deep is a woman’s compassion in our daily lives that men often tend to overlook.

Roman Charity : Why Woman Breastfed Man In Prison!

As inspiring as the story is, this is yet another example of FAKE NEWS, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : That’s Roman Charity By Jules Joseph Lefebvre

The photo is of an oil painting on canvas called La Charité romaine (Roman Charity) by French painter, Jules Joseph Lefebvre.

Fact #2 : Roman Charity By Lefebvre Was Never Sold

The La Charité romaine (Roman Charity) painting by Jules Lefebvre was never sold for 30 million Euros.

It was purchased by the French government in 1864 for 1,500 francs, and displayed at the Melun Museum in 1865.

The French government later donated the painting to the Melun City Hall at 16 rue Paul-Doumer, where it can be seen in the wedding hall.

In the photo taken by Stephane Asseline in 2003, you can see the words Donné par l’état (Donated by the state) engraved into the frame.

Fact #3 : Roman Charity Is A Story Of Cimon And Pero

The real Roman Charity story is about Cimon who was convicted of a serious but unspecified crime, and sentenced to die of starvation.

Even though the prison guards were instructed not to provide him with water or food, Cimon surprisingly survived for more than a month. He was weak but not close to dying. The claim that he survived for more than FOUR months though is a tall tale.

One day, the guards reportedly discovered that his daughter Pero (some accounts describe her as his wife) had been breastfeeding her father. She had been allowed to visit her father once a day, and was able to feed him with her breast milk, keeping him alive that way.

What happened after that is not known. Some say that Pero’s love for her father convinced the court to pardon and release Cimon. But others claim that she was given a death penalty for what she did.

Fact #4 : There Are Many Roman Charity Paintings

There are actually many paintings showing a young woman breastfeeding an old man in prison, all variations of the Roman Charity story.

These four examples from Peter Paul Rubens (1612), Jan Janssens (1620-25), Dirck Van Baburen (1623) and Pieter van Mol (1640), all predate the Jules Lefebvre painting by over 200 years.

Arguably, the Jules Lefebvre painting of Roman Charity is more famous because it was the first depiction of Pero with a baby.

The original versions of the tale did not mention that she brought her baby to prison while visiting her father. So it isn’t surprising to see that earlier works only showed Pero and Cimon alone.

Fact #5 : Roman Charity Story Predates King Louis XIV

The story that the old man was sentenced to death by starvation for stealing bread during the reign of King Louis XIV is nonsense.

The story of Roman Charity goes way back to the days of Ancient Rome. It was first told in Factotum ac dictum memorabilium (Nine Books of Memorable Acts and Sayings of the Ancient Romans) by Ancient Roman historian Valerius Maximus.

A painting in the Temple of Pietas not only depicted the scene back then, wall paintings and terracotta statutes excavated in Pompeii suggest that it was common in the first century.

As I pointed out in the Fact #4 above, Western artists had already painted Roman Charity hundreds of years before Jules Lefebvre, or King Louis XIV’s reign from 1643 to 1715.

Is Balenciaga Selling Water Bottle Slippers For €895?!

Did Balenciaga just introduce water bottle slippers priced at €895?!

Take a look at the viral photos, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : Balenciaga Is Selling Water Bottle Slippers For €895!

The Internet has gone crazy over photos of the new Balenciaga water bottle slippers, with comments like these :

“Bottle slippers? Balenciaga is testing how far people will go in the name of fashion” quip netizens as #Balenciaga Conceptualizes slippers made out of plastic bottles

#NEWS: Balenciaga releases ‘Bottle Slippers’ — with price tag of $1,000 USD, you coppin ??

Whose up for a pair of bottle slippers from Balenciaga? Only 895 euros

A number of fashion and celebrity blogs have also jumped onto the bandwagon, posting about these new high-fashion water bottle slippers.

Truth : Balenciaga Is NOT Selling Water Bottle Slippers For €895!

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS on social media, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Balenciaga Water Bottle Slippers Do NOT Exist

First, let me just state that Balenciaga did not create any water bottle slippers. Those fancy and super-expensive water bottle slippers do NOT exist.

The viral photo showing that these bottle slippers can be purchased on the Balenciaga website for €895 was photoshopped.

That is indeed Justin Bieber in the photo below… but he did not model those bottle slippers either!

Read more : Did Justin Bieber Wear Balenciaga Bottle Slippers?!

Fact #2 : Balenciaga Bottle Slippers Were Created By neondazer

These viral water bottle slippers were just a concept created by a Russian artist / designer called neondazer (Max Arnautov).

He posted photos of the water bottle slippers, including the edited photo of Justin Bieber wearing them, on his Instagram on August 25, 2022.

Wassup hypebeasts, cop or drop? 😂

Meta-irony and metamodernism are best friends of modern fashion, guys. I guess this concept is meta-ironic towards Balenciaga, which became meta-ironic brand itself thanks to @Demna.

When this idea came to me, I thought: “So f*cking funny! But… I will not be surprised if Balenciaga gonna do something like that for real.”

They released earrings made of laces, destroyed Paris sneakers, a trench shitted by birds.. so this bottle slippers are fitting perfectly! Cuz it’s all about overconsumption and its fruits.

The Famous Jesus Tree Of Lebanon Miracle Explained!

Take a look at the famous Jesus tree of Lebanon, and find out what’s the true story behind those viral photos!

Is The Famous Jesus Tree Of Lebanon A Real Miracle?

Pictures of the famous Jesus Tree – a tree that looks like Jesus crucified on a cross – are often shared on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, emails and elsewhere online.

These pictures are often accompanied by prayers and claims that it’s a true Christian miracle.

It really looks like Jesus crucified on a cross, doesn’t it? It would be quite a miracle if a tree actually twisted itself to look like that.

Or is it just pareidolia – the perception of a familiar pattern or image, where none actually exists?

The Famous Jesus Tree Of Lebanon Really Exists!

For Christians who need vindication for their faith, we have good news and bad news.

The good news is the Jesus Tree exists. The bad news is it is neither natural, nor supernatural. It is certainly not miraculous.

The Jesus Tree is the artistic creation of Lebanese poet, painter and sculptor Rudy Rahmè, who carved it out of a dead cedar tree in the forest of the Cedars of God (Al Arz el Rab) in Northern Lebanon.

Here is the original picture taken by louppe1 in June 2007.

Credit : Louppe1, 6th June 2007

On the 24 July 2015, when a James Morales took this picture below, and made it viral on Facebook by calling it evidence of “the power of God’s goodness…” :

Credit : James Morales, 24th July 2015

The truth and the far more mundane fact is that it took Rudy Rahmè 5-6 years to carve that sculpture. Here is a closer look at the sculpture.

Credit : Maria, 24th March 2014

Rudy Rahmè did not just create that famous Jesus Tree. He also carved Jesus’ image into other cedar trees in the Cedars of God.

The Jesus Tree Was Created By Man, Not God

Instead of misleading other people into thinking that the Jesus Tree is a supernatural or miraculous creation, we should give the artist Rudy Rahmè props for turning these dead cedars into such incredible works of art.

He is the true miracle behind the Jesus trees of Lebanon!

The Frame (2020) by Samsung : What You Need To Know!

Samsung just unveiled the 2020 edition of The Frame – a lifestyle television designed for art lovers! Here is what you need to know!

The Frame (2020) by Samsung : For Art Lovers

The 2020 edition of The Frame is one of the three Samsung lifestyle televisions being introduced this year. The others being The Sero and The Serif.

The Frame is designed to appeal to art lovers, with a design that mimics the frame of an art piece. And it displays an art piece when you turn it off!

The Frame (2020) by Samsung : What You Need To Know!

Samsung summarises The Frame 2020’s KSP (key selling point) very simply – TV when it’s on. Art when it’s off.

Frame-look Design

The Frame is designed with an elegant, modern frame-look design that will blend in with your decor.

Samsung also offers a choice of four bezel colours to customise The Frame 2020. They are locked in place by magnets, so it’s really easy to swap them out whenever the need arises.

Art Mode

Instead of turning into a blank screen, The Frame 2020 automatically displays your personal art collection when it’s turned off.

You can subscribe to the Samsung Art Store to access over 1,400 art pieces from famous artists and galleries including Museo del Prado, The Albertina, and Saatchi Art.

You can also display your personal works of art or photos, which can be transformed using its six built-in filters.

100% DCI-P3 Colour Volume

Thanks to Samsung Quantum Dot technology, The Frame 2020 delivers a full 100% DCI-P3 colour volume, as certified by Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE).

It also boasts Dual LED technology to increase contrast based on backlight temperature for optimal colour tone.

No Gap Wall-Mount

Mounting on the wall using the Samsung No Gap Wall-Mount lets it look like a real work of art. And yet, it allows you to tilt it sideways, forwards or backwards.

One Invisible Connection

The Frame 2020 maintains its clean lines thanks to the One Invisible Connection, which eradicates the usual cable mess by using a single, thin almost invisible cable to connect to the One Connect Box.

Brightness + Motion Sensors

The Frame 2020 uses its brightness sensor to automatically optimise its brightness and colour tone for a natural look, irrespective of the lighting conditions.

Its motion sensor lets it detect your presence, to display artwork whenever you are in the room. And when you leave, it turns off to save electricity.

Adaptive Voice Amplifier (AVA)

The Frame 2020 monitors ambient noise levels in real-time to detect when they may interfere with your enjoyment.

When it gets noisy, it will isolate, boost and clarify voices or dialogue playing on the TV, so you won’t miss a thing.

Smart Connectivity

The Frame 2020 is a Smart TV with WiFi 5 (WiFi-AC) and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity built-in.

This allows you to connect your smartphone or tablet to it, mirroring its display or streaming content from it.

You can control it using either the One Remote Control, or the SmartThings app, or by Bixby voice commands.

The Frame (2020) by Samsung : Price + Availability

The Frame (2020) by Samsung is available in two sizes, at these price points :

  • 55-inch : RM 6,499 (about US$1,560 | £1,200 | A$2,157 | S$2,138)
