Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra, A Flexible Modular Zero-Footprint PC!

Dell just unveiled the OptiPlex 7070 Ultra with the world’s most flexible, zero-footprint desktop design!

We will take a look at what that means, and why the new Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra may be just the modern office needs!

The Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra

The Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra is called a zero-footprint desktop design, because it integrates the PC with the monitor. This is what the industry calls an All-In-One (AIO) design.

While AIO designs save space and reduce clutter, they are often notoriously difficult, if not impossible, to upgrade over time.

The Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra, however, was designed from the ground-up to be modular, offering flexibility in both serviceability and upgradability.

  • Independent upgrade of the PC and the display – you can swap out, upgrade or service any part at any time
  • The PC is integrated into the monitor stand, with physical security options to protect against tampering
  • Can be configured for different use cases or work styles with options of a height-adjustable stand, fixed stand, VESA mount, Dell MSA20 single monitor arm or the Dell MDA20 dual monitor arm.
  • The PC performance can be scaled to meet the users’ needs – up to Intel Core vPro i7 processors, 64 GB of RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD and 2 TB HDD

Even though it already comes with a display, the Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra can support up to two other monitors – from 19- to 27-inches – for greater productivity.

And if you opt for the new Dell USB-C monitors, you can use a single cable to transmit power, data, video and audio!

Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra Price + Availability

The Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra will be available for purchase by end of September 2019, with pricing to be announced later.

The new Acer P series projectors – P1350WL, P1150 and P1250 are the first Acer projectors to be equipped with blue light filters. Acer BluelightShield allows you to lower levels of blue light and lessen the negative effects of blue light exposure. It can reduce up to 30% of blue light to protect your eyes.

All three projectors are 3D ready, and can be paired with 3D glasses and devices that support 120 Hz output. They also offer wireless projection, removing the need for messy cables. You only need to download and use the eDisplayPro app to extend mirror your display to the projectors:

The Acer P1350WL projector has a brightness of 3,700 ANSI lumens while Acer P1150 and P1250 projectors offer 3,600 ANSI lumens of brightness. Thanks to Lumisense intelligent judgement and dynamic adjustment, all three projectors deliver high levels of brightness from a long distance even in a bright environment.

For easy installation, they all support auto keystone correction and automatic rotation using the Auto Ceiling mount feature. They also come with the ExtremeECO technology that reduces power consumption by up to 70%, while extending the lamp life to 15,000 hours.

The Acer P1350WL is priced at RM2,199 / ~US$ 519 whereas Acer P1150 and Acer P1250 are priced at RM1,599 and RM1,899 (~US$ 379 and ~US$ 449) respectively.

The Dell Computex 2017 Product Launch Coverage

The third major event at Computex Taipei 2017 was the Dell Computex 2017 product launch event. This year, Dell restricted themselves to only three new models, with a twist – they are all powered by an AMD processor!

So it was no surprise when AMD President & CEO Dr. Lisa Su came to lend her support for the new AMD-powered Dell computers. Check out what Dell has in store for the second half of 2017!

The Dell Computex 2017 Product Launch

That Dell would adopt the much-vaunted AMD Ryzen 7 processor is no surprise. Using it to power the new Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop is only natural. What is surprising though is their decision to also use it to power the new Dell Inspiron 27 7000 AIO system!

Could you have imagined that an AIO system would not only boast an 8-core processor, but also a powerful AMD Radeon RX 500 series graphics card? That is an impressive engineering feat by both Dell and AMD engineers who worked together to create it.

If you are on a budget, Dell offers the Dell Inspiron 24 5000 AIO system. It too boasts a powerful AMD Radeon RX 500 series graphics card. We are perplexed though by Dell’s decision to go with the older 7th Generation AMD A-Series APU, instead of the new AMD Ryzen 5 processor.

At the Dell Computex 2017 press conference, Ray Mak showed off the first and only AIO powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 processor – the Dell Inspiron 27 7000.

Ray also showed off a smaller AMD A10-powered AIO model – the Dell Inspiron 24 5000.

AMD President & CEO Dr. Lisa Su even came up to talk about their partnership with Dell.
