SAFECOVAC : Ultra-Low Myocarditis Risk From Vaccines!

SAFECOVAC: Vaccine Myocarditis Risk Less Than 1 In Million!

The new SAFECOVAC study showed that there is less than one in a million risk of getting myocarditis from any of COVID-19 vaccine used in Malaysia!

Take a look at the results for yourself!

SAFECOVAC : Vaccine Myocarditis Risk Study In Malaysia

SAFECOVAC is a vaccine safety study (NMRR-21-822-59745) conducted by the Institute for Clinical Research (ICR) under the National Institutes of Health, Malaysia.

The study reviewed data from 433,674 hospital admissions from 216 public and private hospitals between February and September 2021, and found that :

  • a total of 25 myocarditis events were observed within 21 days of COVID-19 vaccination
  • 14 myocarditis events were related to the Pfizer COMIRNARTY vaccine
  • 9 myocarditis events were related to the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine
  • 2 myocarditis events were related to the AstraZeneca vaccine

Let me break down the data they just shared, and tell you what they really mean!

Vaccine Myocarditis Risk Is Less Than 1 In Million!

On 16 January 2022, the Malaysia Ministry of Health shared some preliminary data from the SAFECOVAC study, which I summarised in this table :

Age Groups Myocarditis Events
(Per Million Doses)
Pfizer AstraZeneca Sinovac
Overall 0.9 0.7 0.5
Over 30 Years 1.0 NA 0.6
30 Years + Younger 0.87 NA 0.49

In other words, the risk of getting vaccine-induced myocarditis is only :

  • Pfizer : 1 in every 1.11 million doses
  • AstraZeneca : 1 in every 1.43 million doses
  • Sinovac : 1 in every 2 million doses

As you can tell, that is not only a very low risk. But what you may not know is how it compares to the risk of getting myocarditis from a COVID-19 infections.

So let’s take the SAFECOVAC data, and extrapolate the risk of myocarditis from people who were vaccinated three times (including booster dose) versus a COVID-19 infection.

Look at the results! If you are worried about myocarditis, you should definitely want to AVOID getting infected with COVID-19.

Myocarditis
Risk
Per Million
People
vs
Sinovac
vs
AstraZeneca
vs
Pfizer
COVID-19 450 +300x +214x +167x
3x Pfizer 2.7 +1.8x +1.3x Baseline
3x AstraZeneca 2.1 +1.4x Baseline -0.2x
3x Sinovac 1.5 Baseline -0.3x -0.4x

No matter how you slice and dice the results, it is very clear that the risk of myocarditis is GREATEST with a single COVID-19 infection, than it is with THREE doses of the Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccines.

So please protect yourself against myocarditis, hospitalisation and death from COVID-19. Get vaccinated!

Did Marathon Runners Collapse From COVID-19 Vaccination?

Did 5 athletes at the Taipei Marathon collapse due to their COVID-19 vaccination?

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : Marathon Runners Drop Like Flies From COVID-19 Vaccination!

A YouTuber called Tony Lin has gone viral with his video claiming that five athletes at the Taipei Marathon dropped like flies from their COVID-19 vaccinations!

Here is a partial transcript of what he said in his video :

Hi, this is Tony Lin. Welcome to my video.

Can you imagine, in a marathon competition, runners drop like flies. One by one fall into the ground, their hearts stopped beating and they gradually lost consciousness, and they were rushed to the hospital.

This is exactly what happened in an international marathon competition held in Taiwan.

Coincidentally, this is the first ever marathon competition in Taiwan that require the runners to show their vaccination records to join this marathon competition.

He then reads out portions of a news report by a website called Taiwan English News, relevant excerpts which I am reposting here for your convenience :

Five athletes collapsed during the Taipei Marathon event this morning, and were rushed to hospital, at least three having lost vital signs, requiring Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

By 10:30 am, a total of five people had collapsed unconscious in the course of the race. According to reports all five are now conscious and under observation in hospital.

For the first time in its history, the 2021 marathon, with the awkwardly-phrased theme “The Day we Reborn,” required participants to show record of COVID vaccination, or medical record showing proof of recovery from COVID-19, or negative PCR test/rapid antigen test certificate.

Truth : Marathon Runners Did NOT Collapse From COVID-19 Vaccination!

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS by antivaxxers like Tony Lin, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : 2021 Taipei Marathon Is Not Only For Vaccinated Runners

Tony lied that the 2021 Taipei Marathon requires runners to show their vaccination records to join.

It’s even explained in the Taiwan English News article that 2021 Taipei Marathon participants are required to show one of these:

  • record of COVID-19 vaccination, OR
  • medical record as proof of recovery from COVID-19, OR
  • a negative PCR / RTK certificate

The official 2021 Taipei Marathon regulations stipulate that runners must bring one of the following proof:

  • COVID-19 vaccination record (must be vaccinated before December 5, 2021)
  • PCR test report with negative result after December 13, 2021
  • Proof of RTK self-test with negative result and a signed waiver form
  • Medical proof of recovery (from COVID-19)

In other words, UNVACCINATED people can also participate in the 2021 Taipei Marathon. They just have to prove that they recovered from COVID-19, or test negative on a PCR / RTK test.

Fact #2 : Vaccination Status Of Collapsed Runners Unknown

The vaccination status of the five collapsed marathon runners are unknown. They could be unvaccinated, as I pointed out above.

But Tony Lin suggested that they collapsed due to myocarditis from the COVID-19 vaccine, even though he does not know if they are even vaccinated. He naturally offered NO EVIDENCE to back up his claim.

Even if they were vaccinated, we do not know what COVID-19 vaccine they received. Tony Lin obviously does not know either.

Fact #3 : Cardiac Arrest Is Not Myocarditis

Tony Lin tries to link the cardiac arrest that the runners suffered from, to myocarditis. But they are completely different heart problems.

Cardiac arrest is an electrical malfunction of the heart, that causes an irregular heartbeat or even stops the heart from pumping completely. Victims will immediately collapse unconscious, and may not breathe or have a pulse.

Myocarditis is the inflammation of the heart muscle, with victims complaining of chest pain, shortness of breath or feelings of a pounding / fast-beating heart.

Read more : Do mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines Increase Heart Disease Risk?

Fact #4 : Runners Collapse At Every Marathon

There is a reason why marathons have medical staff on standby – runners collapse at every marathon event. Some have even died.

The marathon is not your run-of-mill running event. It is a long-distance foot race that stretches out to over 42 kilometres (26 miles)!

During any marathon race, heat from the sun can cause heat stroke, while changes in air temperature can trigger cardiac arrest in vulnerable people.

It is an incredibly strenuous event, even for trained athletes. So it is not uncommon to see runners collapse at marathon races, especially if they were not able to train much during the pandemic.

Fact #5 : Cardiac Arrest Deaths Lower Than Expected

A 2016 systematic medical review found that there was a risk of approximately 0.6 to 1.9 cardiac arrest deaths out of every 100,000 marathon participants.

Even though 5 people ended up suffering from cardiac arrest at the 2021 Taipei Marathon, they recovered after treatment. So the incidence rate of cardiac arrest deaths is actually much lower than expected.

Chien Ding-kuo (簡定國), deputy director at the Department of Emergency Medicine, MacKay Memorial Hospital, said that the high number of OHCA cases might be associated with low temperatures in the early morning as well as under-training.

Fact #6 : Much Higher Risk Of Myocarditis From COVID-19!

What Tony Lin does not point out is that the risk of getting myocarditis from a COVID-19 infection is MUCH HIGHER than the risk of getting myocarditis from a COVID-19 vaccine.

Using data from the new SAFECOVAC study, here is the extrapolated risk of myocarditis for people who were vaccinated three times (including booster dose) versus a COVID-19 infection.

Can COVID-19 Vaccination Damage Our Immune System?

Does COVID-19 vaccination permanently damage our immune system, and prevent us from getting protection against other viruses?

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : COVID-19 Vaccination Damages Our Immune System!

A WhatsApp message has gone viral, claiming that the UK government has admitted that COVID-19 vaccination permanently damages our immune system!

The claim is rather long, so just skip to the next section for the facts…

🔥🔥 BREAKING NEWS

UK Government admit that the vaccines have damaged the natural immune systems of the double jabbed.

The British government has spilled the beans about that fact that once you get double jabbed, you will never again be able to acquire full natural immunity against Covid variants – or possibly any virus.

So let’s watch the ‘real’ pandemic begin now!

Truth : COVID-19 Vaccination Will NOT Damage Immune System

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS created by anti-vaxxers to scare people, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : UK Government Did Not Say Vaccines Damage Immune Systems

The UK government did not say that “vaccines have damaged the natural immune system of the double jabbed“. That is a complete lie.

Fact #2 : COVID-19 Vaccination Boosts Natural Immunity

The claim that COVID-19 vaccination prevents “full natural immunity” against COVID-19 variants is NONSENSICAL.

COVID-19 vaccination may provide different levels of protection for different variants, but it does NOT prevent you from gaining “full natural immunity”, if you get infected anyway.

In fact, it is YOUR OWN immune system that makes those antibodies, not the COVID-19 vaccination. That’s your natural immunity at work.

COVID-19 vaccination only kickstarts the process, so you will have those antibodies before you get infected.

Fact #3 : COVID-19 Vaccination Do Not Prevent Immunity From Other Viruses

The claim that COVID-19 vaccination prevents you from acquiring full natural immunity from other viruses is also FALSE.

COVID-19 vaccination merely teaches your immune system to identify the real SARS-CoV-2 virus, and learn how to make antibodies against it.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for any COVID-19 vaccine to prevent you from acquiring immunity against other viruses.

Fact #4 : Quote Is In Page 23, Not Page 24

The viral message wrongly asks you to read Page 24 of the COVID-19 Vaccine Surveillance Report (Week 42).

Based on how often the message is being shared, it looks like that NO ONE actually opened the report to read Page 24.

Instead, they all forwarded the viral message, WITHOUT READING and certainly, without first verifying the information.

Fact #5 : Roche N Assay Only Detects Post-Infection Antibodies

In Page 19 of the surveillance report, it is clearly stated that Roche N (nucleoprotein) assay only detects “post-infection antibodies“.

That’s because COVID-19 vaccines used in the UK only produce S (spike) antibodies, so any N antibodies detected would be from actual COVID-19 infections.

Hence, it’s being used to determine how many people who have antibodies from a COVID-19 infection, instead of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Fact #6 : Report Was Gauging Population Exposure To COVID-19

The quote actually refers to the prevalence of S (spike) and N (nucleoprotein) antibodies in UK blood donors, as a way to gauge the population’s exposure to COVID-19. It does not refer to the person’s immunity to COVID-19.

The full section (quote in bold) clearly refers to the surveillance of blood donors, not their immunity to COVID-19.

Seropositivity estimates for S antibody in blood donors are likely to be higher than would be expected in the general population and this probably reflects the fact that donors are more likely to be vaccinated.

Seropositivity estimates for N antibody will underestimate the proportion of the population previously infected due to:

(i) blood donors are potentially less likely to be exposed to natural infection than age matched individuals in the general population

(ii) waning of the N antibody response over time and

(iii) recent observations from UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) surveillance data that N antibody levels appear to be lower in individuals who acquire infection following 2 doses of vaccination.

Fact #7 : N Antibody Levels Should Be Lower In Vaccinated People

Fully-vaccinated people produce S antibodies that attach to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, physically blocking it from attaching to our cells and infecting them.

N antibody levels are naturally expected to be lower in vaccinated people, as the S antibodies from the vaccine reduce the viral load and the need for the immune system to produce N antibodies.

The viral message claims that this is a sign of your immune system failing. That’s utter nonsense.

This is actually evidence that the S antibodies produced by the COVID-19 vaccine have effectively reduced infections by the coronavirus.

Fact #8 : N Antibodies Do Not Block Attachment

Most COVID-19 vaccines target the S (Spike) protein, because that is what the SARS-CoV-2 virus uses to infect our cells.

The S antibodies they produce attach to the virus’ spike protein, physically blocking it from attaching to our cells, therefore blocking the infection.

N antibodies, on the other hand, will attach to the nucleocapsid (protein shell) of the coronavirus, which may not block attachment since the spike proteins remain exposed.

That is why inactivated virus vaccines like the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine are far less effective than vaccines that target the spike protein, like the AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines.

Fact #9 : Spike Mutations Will Evade Natural Immunity Too

The claim that natural immunity is superior to COVID-19 vaccination is nonsense.

Any spike mutations that evade vaccine-produced antibodies will also evade antibodies produced through COVID-19 infection in unvaccinated people. That’s because our immune system produces antibodies according to what the virus presents to the body.

For example, if you are unvaccinated and get a natural infection by the Delta variant, your body will produce S and N antibodies specific to the Delta variant.

If you then get infected by the Omicron variant, the Delta-specific S and N antibodies already produced by your body may not attach to the Omicron variant virus as well as it would to a Delta variant virus.

Fact #10 : Unvaccinated Will NOT Get Lasting Protection From Infection

Lest it is not clear enough – a natural COVID-19 infection will NOT necessarily impart lasting protection against future COVID-19 infections. Neither will it protect you against new variants like Omicron and beyond.

Unvaccinated people who had already survived a COVID-19 infection can get reinfected. Some have even died after being reinfected with COVID-19.

  • 1%-10% of people infected with COVID-19 do NOT develop detectable neutralising antibodies.
  • Individuals with mild / asymptomatic infections tend to have lower antibody levels.
  • Some studies have shown that waning of antibody levels occurs within several months after infection.

It is therefore folly to rely on “natural” COVID-19 infections to obtain protection. That is like going to war with an alien species without going to boot camp first.

COVID-19 vaccination is a self defence class for our immune system. It prepares our immune system for battle, so get vaccinated for the best outcome against COVID-19!

Did Bill Gates Call For Withdrawal Of COVID-19 Vaccines?

Did Bill Gates call for the withdrawal of all COVID-19 vaccines, because they are “far more dangerous than anyone imagined”?

Find out what’s going on, and what the FACTS really are!

This article was originally posted in August 2021, and was updated and reposted because people are re-circulating the fake story on WhatsApp.

Please help to stop the circulation of fake news, by sharing this fact check article!

Claim : Bill Gates Calls For Withdrawal Of ALL COVID-19 Vaccines!

People are sharing an article by Daily Expose, claiming that Bill Gates is calling for the withdrawal of ALL COVID-19 vaccines, because they are “far more dangerous than anyone imagined”!

It’s a VERY long article, so please skip to the next section for the FACTS!

BREAKING – Bill Gates calls for the withdrawal of all Covid-19 Vaccines; “The vaccines are far more dangerous than anyone imagined”

In a shocking announcement, Bill Gates, billionaire Microsoft co-founder and the major force behind the COVID-19 vaccines, called for all the COVID-19 genetic-based vaccines to be taken off the market immediately.

In an often anguished 19-minute televised speech, Gates said: “We made a terrible mistake. We wanted to protect people against a dangerous virus. But it turns out the virus is much less dangerous than we thought. And the vaccine is far more dangerous than anyone imagined.”

By W. Gelles

Truth : Bill Gates Did NOT Call For Withdrawal Of COVID-19 Vaccines!

The truth is – this is yet another fake story by Daily Expose, which is notorious for creating and posting fake news. Here are the FACTS…

Fact #1 : Bill Gates Did Not Call For Withdrawal Of COVID-19 Vaccines

Bill Gates never called for the withdrawal of COVID-19 vaccines. This is a complete fabrication by Daily Expose.

If he actually did that – it would have been big news on mainstream media, but there’s completely no coverage of such momentous news.

Check your favourite news media – CNN, BBC, Fox News, Al Jazeera, CGTN, etc. See if you can find ANY legitimate news outlet confirming what Daily Expose claimed.

No one reported on it, because the “19-minute televised speech” never happened!

Daily Expose made up the whole story, just like die Basis created the fake German government announcement!

Read more : Did Germany Put All COVID-19 Vaccines On Hold?

Fact #2 : Daily Expose Admitted Faking The Story

Daily Expose fabricated this article as a piece of “satire”, but hid the fact by only mentioning that it’s “satire” at the very bottom of their fake article.

They also misleadingly posted it with the title that said nothing about the article being “satire”. It seems intentional – so that people would think it’s genuine.

And true enough – people thought it was genuine, and they shared it out as factual, making it go viral.

Daily Expose later changed the title to “SATIRE – In an alternate universe Bill Gates has called for the withdrawal of all Covid-19 Vaccines“.

They also added “a note from the editor”, stating that “when we first published this article we should have made it clear at the beginning that it was satire rather than at the end. We did not do this and we apologise…

However, it’s too late – and they know it – because people continue to share the original version which pretended to be genuine.

Read more : Was Bill Gates Arrested For Crimes Against Humanity?

Fact #3 : Daily Expose Lied That The Rest Is Factual

Even though the Daily Expose editor insisted the article is satire, the writer – W. Gelles, claimed that it’s mostly factual.

Note – The following satire is fictional in that Mr. Gates has made no such speech and the Gates Foundation has not established any funds to compensate vaccine victims or to make available effective, inexpensive COVID-19 remedies. All the rest of the article is factual – W. Gelles

The truth is that the entire article is FALSE – a complete fabrication by W. Gelles and the Daily Expose.

For example, the claim that VAERS captures “only one percent of what’s going on”, and yet reported 13,000 deaths and over half a million adverse events is COMPLETELY FALSE.

The claim that “hydroxycholoroquine is known to be very effective in fighting COVID-19” is also COMPLETELY FALSE. Also false are the claims that the studies that discredited HCQ were retracted.

Everything in their article can be verified as false, but Daily Expose is counting on you not checking their false claims.

Read more : How Antivaxxers Use VAERS To Support Their Fake News!

Fact #4 : COVID-19 Vaccines Have Been Proven Safe + Effective

Anti-vaccination proponents are not interested in your health, which is why they keep lying about the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines.

The truth is – COVID-19 vaccines were only approved AFTER they have undergone extensive safety and efficacy tests, involving tens of thousands of volunteers.

And even after receiving Emergency Use Authorisation and full FDA approval, they continue to be monitored for safety and efficacy.

The reason why doctors and health authorities STRONGLY advocate vaccination is because the vaccines have been PROVEN to protect the vast majority of people from getting COVID-19 in the first place.

And even if you do get infected after vaccination, the vaccine will protect you against hospitalisation and death from COVID-19.

So stop listening to fake news websites like Daily Expose. Protect yourself and your family by vaccinating against COVID-19!

Why COVID-19 Vaccine Shelf Life Keeps Getting Extended!

Did you know that COVID-19 vaccine shelf life can be extended beyond what’s printed on the vial, sometimes more than once?

Find out why they keep extending vaccine shelf life, and whether we should be worried about that!

COVID-19 Vaccine Shelf Life Is Way Too Short

Based on their experience developing past vaccines, manufacturers have a good idea of how long their vaccines will remain stable and retain their quality and efficacy.

When properly stored, vaccines can last a long time. Most vaccines actually have a shelf life of about three years.

However, vaccine manufacturers have been extraordinarily cautious when it comes to COVID-19 vaccines. Many COVID-19 vaccines ship with shelf lives of only 3 to 6 months!

The key takeaway point is that COVID-19 vaccine shelf lives are extraordinarily short. Many healthcare professionals would call them way too short.

COVID-19 Vaccine Shelf Life Extension Is Normal

The ultra-short shelf life for COVID-19 vaccines have led to criticism that such excessive caution is leading to wastage.

Even while there is a global shortage of vaccines, many doses had to be disposed when they “expired”, even though they are still safe and effective to use.

The WHO has been urging countries to hold onto those “expired doses” while manufacturers are assessing whether their shelf lives can be extended.

The US FDA also points out that vaccines authorised for emergency use do NOT have fixed expiry dates.

Once new stability studies prove that the vaccine remains stable and effective over time, the expiry date of those vaccines can and will be extended.

I should point out that these extended COVID-19 vaccine shelf lives are still very conservative. Perhaps overly conservative.

In fact, we should expect them to keep getting extended as further stability tests show that they do actually last very long.

Which COVID-19 Vaccine Has Extended Shelf Life?

You may be surprised to know this, but the shelf life of many COVID-19 vaccines have extended, sometimes more than once.

So do NOT be alarmed if you are given a dose from a vial with an “expired date“. It does NOT mean that you have been given a “bad vaccine”.

It just means that the vaccine has been proven to last much longer than originally expected.

Pfizer-BioNTech COMIRNATY

The Pfizer-BioNTech COMIRNATY vaccine originally had a 6 month shelf life. That was extended by 3 months, to 9 months on 22 August 2021.

On 16 December 2021, the US FDA also extended shelf life for the COMIRNATY vaccine that uses the Tris buffer to 9 months.

So all existing vaccine doses can be used for an additional 3 months beyond their printed expiry dates, as long as they are stored between -90ºC to -60ºC.

Moderna Spikevax

The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine originally had a 7 month shelf life.

On 23 December 2021, both UK MHRA and Health Canada extended its shelf life by 2 months, to 9 months, as long as it is stored between -25ºC to -15ºC.

The US FDA also extended the shelf life of certain lots by 2 months, to 9 months, as long as they are stored between -50ºC to -15ºC.

J&J Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine

The Janssen COVID-19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson originally has a 3 month (90-day) shelf life.

The US FDA extended its shelf life to 4.5 months (135 days) on 10 June 2021, and then 6 months (180 days) on 28 July 2021.

All existing vaccine doses can now be used for an additional 1.5 to 3 months (45 to 60 days) beyond their printed expiry dates, as long as they are stored at 2-8ºC.

AstraZeneca Vaxzevria

In May 2021, Health Canada extended the shelf life of about 45,000 AstraZeneca doses by a month, following review of stability data.

It allowed the use of doses with an original expiry date of 31 May 2021, until 1 July 2021.

Otherwise, all AstraZeneca vaccine doses remain with their original shelf life of six months.

Sinovac CoronaVac

The CoronaVac inactivated virus vaccine from Sinovac originally had a 6-month shelf life, which was later extended to 12 months, when it was approved by the WHO.

However, Sinovac appears to give the CoronaVac different shelf lives depending on who’s purchasing their vaccine – 1 year in Malaysia, 2 years in Singapore, and 3 years in Indonesia and Thailand.

Sinopharm BIBP

The Sinopharm BIBP vaccine has a 24-month shelf life, as registered with the WHO. With such a long shelf life, there is no real need for an extension.

CanSino Convidecia

The CanSino Convidecia vaccine has a 24-month shelf life, and remains stable for 60 days at room temperature.

With such a long shelf life, there is no real need for an extension.

SII Covishield

Covishield is a rebranded AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India, and has the same original 6 month shelf life.

In March 2021, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) extended its shelf life by 3 additional months, to 9 months.

Bharat Covaxin

Covaxin originally had a shelf life of 6 months, but that was extended to 12 months by the Indian Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation on 3 November 2021.

All existing vaccine doses can now be used for an additional 6 months beyond their printed expiry dates, as long as they are stored at 2-8ºC.

Sputnik V

The Russian vaccine – Sputnik V originally had an incredibly short 2-month shelf life at -18ºC.

The Russian Healthcare Ministry then allowed it to be stored for 2 months at 2-8ºC, before later extending it to 6 months when stored at -18ºC to -22ºC.

Why Expiry Date On COVID-19 Vaccine Vial Is NOT Accurate!

Find out why the expiry date on the COVID-19 vaccine vial is NOT ACCURATE, and why you should ignore it.

Claim : Vial Expiry Date Proves That The Vaccine Has Expired!

People have been claiming that they were given expired COVID-19 vaccines.

Sometimes, they misunderstood the expiry date on their vaccination card, and sometimes it’s because the expiry date on the vial showed that the vaccine has expired.

Today, a video went viral on WhatsApp, together with a new claim of getting expired COVID-19 vaccine :

Expired dose being used for vaccination and luckily the son found out and stopped it.

For those who do not understand Bahasa Malaysia, here is a rough transcript

Doctor : There’s no problem (with the vaccine).

Man : I have proof!

Doctor : It’s okay if you want to dispute it. If you want to postpone the vaccination, you can come back later.

Man : When can we get it?

Doctor : This week, we are still using this current stock.

Man : Don’t misunderstand. I’m not scared. My father is scared because it’s expired.

Why Expiry Date On COVID-19 Vaccine Vial Is NOT Accurate!

This is very likely another example of people misunderstanding the vaccine expiry date. As they say, “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing“.

While people are now clever enough to check the vaccine vial for the expiry date, many remain oblivious to the fact that it is no longer accurate!

The truth is – no one is getting expired COVID-19 vaccine, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : FDA Extended Pfizer Vaccine Shelf Life

It is unknown what vaccine the man’s father was supposed to receive, but it was most likely the Pfizer booster dose.

On 22 August 2021, the US FDA agreed to allow Pfizer to extend the shelf life of their COVID-19 vaccine by 3 months – from 6 months to 9 months.

All existing vaccine doses from that point onwards can be used for an additional 3 months beyond their printed expiry dates, as long as they are stored between -90ºC to -60ºC.

The new official recommended shelf life for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is therefore 9 months.

Read more : COVID-19 Vaccine Expiry Extension : What You Must Know!

Fact #2 : Malaysia Extended Pfizer + Sinovac Shelf Lives

On 16 November 2021, Malaysia officially announced the shelf life extension of both Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines.

This decision was made, based on ongoing stability data, and also the updated FDA and manufacturers’ shelf life recommendations.

Therefore, you may be given a vial with an “expired date”, and the dates on your vaccination card / certificate will NOT match what was printed on the vial.

Pfizer-BioNTech
COMIRNATY
MAL21016022AZ Pfizer Belgium NV, Belgium 9 Months
(+ 3 Months)
MAL21036039ASZ BioNTech GmbH, Germany

Fact #3 : Printed Expiry Dates Are NO LONGER Accurate

Many COVID-19 vaccines were shipped before their expiry dates were extended by various health authorities. Therefore, the printed expiry dates on vaccine vials are NO LONGER accurate.

As vaccine expiry date extensions need to be approved by the health authority in individual countries, it takes time for vaccine manufacturers to print new labels for different countries.

That’s why Malaysia (for example) gives vaccine manufacturers 6 months to update the shelf life that is printed on their vaccine vials.

So please do NOT be surprised if new COVID-19 vaccine vials continue to come with shorter shelf life labels for several more months.

Fact #4 : Expiry Date Is By Vaccine Batch

I should also point out that the expiry date changes with each batch of the COVID-19 vaccine, irrespective of whether it’s from Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Sinovac.

Hence, the Ministry of Health points out that this expiry date of your first dose has NO CONNECTION with your second dose.

Irrespective of what vaccine you receive, your vaccine doses will likely be from different batches. Their expiry dates will therefore be different.

Fact #5 : Accurate Expiry Date In Vaccination Card / MySejahtera

If you really want to know if you received an expired COVID-19 vaccine, check your vaccination card or MySejahtera.

The actual and correct expiry date will be written in your COVID-19 vaccination card, and posted in your MySejahtera status (as shown in the example above).

Now that you are aware of the facts, please share this fact check with your family and friends, so they won’t get fooled by the misleading video and message!

Did Australia Admit 79,000 People Had Vaccine Side Effects?

Did the government of Australia just admit that at least 79,000 people had vaccine side effects like pericarditis?

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : Australia Admitted 79,000 People Had Vaccine Side Effects!

People have been sharing this scary message on WhatsApp, with a link to a YouTube video from the Australian news outlet, 7NEWS :

The Australian government has admitted there have been at least 79,000 COVID-19 vaccine side effects and is now offering compensation to those seriously injured

Truth : Australia Did Not Admit 79,000 People Had Vaccine Side Effects

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS that uses real news to mislead people, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Video Tells A Different Story From Viral Message

The video is genuine, and is a 7NEWS report from 29 December 2021, which you can view above.

The fake news creator used it to “sell” the fake news, because he/she knows that 99% of those who read the fake news won’t bother to actually watch the video.

In fact, most will assume that 79,000 people in Australia developed pericarditis from COVID-19 vaccines!

The video actually talks about one man’s experience getting pericarditis from the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, and how he did not qualify for the federal government’s compensation.

Fact #2 : He Did Not Get Hospitalised Overnight For Pericarditis

The man in the 7NEWS report, Matty John, was admitted to the hospital twice for pericarditis, but in both cases – he did not even need to stay overnight (1:35 in the video).

Hence, he did not qualify for the Australian Government’s COVID-19 vaccine claims scheme.

According to the TGA, myocarditis and pericarditis from vaccines is “often mild, and cases usually resolve after a few days with treatment and rest“.

Fact #3 : Australian Government Did Not Admit 79,000 People Had Side Effects

To be clear – the Australian government never said that 79,000 people had side effects from the vaccine. It was an estimate mentioned in the news report.

At 0:46 of the video, the reporter clearly said, “It is estimated that 79,000 people had suffered adverse reactions to vaccines“.

Fact #4 : Less Than 2,000 People In Australia Had Pericarditis From Vaccines

As of 19 December 2021, Australia administered 27.7 million doses of mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, and just under 2,000 reported cases of pericarditis.

Even if all reported (but not confirmed) pericarditis cases are considered as related to the mRNA vaccines, that’s an incidence rate of 0.0072%.

The truth is – people do get pericarditis even without vaccination. So the true incidence rate is much lower than “suspected”.

Fact #5 : COVID-19 Causes More Pericarditis Than Vaccines!

What antivaxxers don’t tell you is that – COVID-19 causes A LOT more cases of pericarditis than vaccines.

This 14 December 2021 study published in Nature look at the outcome of over 38 million people in the United Kingdom from COVID-19 and vaccination.

For your convenience, I summarised their pericarditis findings in this table :

COVID-19
Infection
Pfizer
Comirnaty
AstraZeneca

In Risk
Baseline 8.14x

From their findings, COVID-19 infections causes 8X more cases of pericarditis than a COVID-19 vaccine.

It should be obvious by this point that, if you are worried about pericarditis, then you should definitely GET VACCINATED against COVID-19!

COVID-19 Booster Dose Policy For Malaysia : 28 Dec Edition!

Here is our LATEST summary of the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose policy in Malaysia, as of 28 December 2021!

Malaysia Ramping Up COVID-19 Booster Dose Program!

Malaysia started the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose programme on 13 October 2021, targeting those who received the Pfizer vaccine more than 6 months ago.

It was then expanded to those who received the Sinovac vaccine more than 3 months ago, on 22 October 2021.

On 9 November 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) announced that it would be made available to younger adults.

On 24 November 2021, KKM announced that it will be open to anyone above 18, including those who received AstraZeneca, Cansino, Sinopharm and Janssen vaccines.

On 16 December 2021, KKM made it mandatory for vulnerable individuals to receive the booster shot, to be considered as fully-vaccinated.

On 28 December 2021, KKM halved the booster dose interval for most COVID-19 vaccines!

Latest COVID-19 Booster Dose Policy In Malaysia Explained!

Here is our summary of Malaysia’s COVID-19 vaccine booster dose policy!

Why Should We Get It?

It is recommended that you get the booster dose to better protect against more contagious COVID-19 variants like the Delta variant, and the new Omicron variant.

The primary series of COVID-19 vaccines continues to protect you against hospitalisation and death. However, the Delta and Omicron variants are partially-resistant to the vaccines, and will cause more breakthrough infections.

While most of these breakthrough infections will be mild or moderate, it puts vulnerable people – the elderly and people with co-morbidities – at risk. That’s why they are being given the booster shot first, over everyone else.

In addition, protection from COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to wane over 2-6 months, so a booster dose is necessary to restore protection.

Read more : Sinovac Vaccine Efficacy Rapidly Drops After 2 Months!
Read more : Why The Delta Variant Causes MORE Breakthrough Infections!

What Vaccines Have Been Approved As Booster Dose?

The Malaysia Drug Control Authority (DCA) approved the Pfizer booster dose on 8 October 2021.

Only on 17 November 2021 did they also approve the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines as booster doses.

How Soon Can You Get The Booster Dose?

You can now get your booster dose as early as THREE (3) months after completing your primary series for most vaccines, or TWO (2) months for the Janssen vaccine.

Here is a table I created to summarise the booster options and when you can get one :

Primary Series
Vaccine
Recommended

Primary Series
Pfizer Pfizer Moderna After 3 months
AstraZeneca Pfizer AstraZeneca
Sinovac Pfizer AstraZeneca or
Sinovac
Sinopharm Pfizer AstraZeneca or
Sinopharm *
Moderna Moderna Pfizer
CanSino Pfizer CanSino *
Sputnik V Pfizer AstraZeneca
Janssen Pfizer AstraZeneca After 2 months

Pfizer Recipients : What Vaccine Can You Use?

Those who received the Pfizer vaccine can receive their booster shot 3 months after Dose 2.

  • Recommended : Pfizer booster shot
  • Alternative : Moderna booster shot

AstraZeneca Recipients : What Vaccine Can You Use?

Those who received the AstraZeneca vaccine can receive their booster shot 3 months after Dose 2.

Those who received the CanSino vaccine can receive their booster shot 3 months after vaccination.

  • Recommended : Pfizer booster shot
  • Alternative : CanSino booster shot

Note : CITF-B is allowing a second dose of CanSino as a booster shot, but it has NOT been approved by the NPRA, and is therefore not available at the moment.

Janssen Recipients : What Vaccine Can You Use?

Those who received the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine can receive their booster shot 2 months after vaccination.

  • Recommended : Pfizer booster shot
  • Alternative : AstraZeneca booster shot

Who Can Receive It?

On 24 November 2021, the Ministry of Health announced that the COVID-19 booster doses will be available to all individuals 18 years and above.

However, the appointments will be prioritised using the age step down approach, with priority for frontliners, individuals with co-morbidities, pregnant mothers, and those who have to travel overseas.

Is COVID-19 Booster Dose Mandatory?

Like the COVID-19 vaccine, the booster shot is NOT mandatory.

Is It Necessary To Be Fully-Vaccinated?

Yes, for certain vulnerable groups.

On 16 December 2021, the Ministry of Health (KKM) announced that these individuals MUST receive a booster shot by end of February 2022, to be considered as fully-vaccinated.

  • Individuals who received two doses of the Sinovac vaccine, and
  • Individuals 60 years and older who completed other COVID-19 vaccines,

Those who do not meet these requirements by end of February 2022 will lose their “fully-vaccinated” status in MySejahtera.

They will only regain their fully-vaccinated status once they receive the booster dose.

Read more : Malaysia To REQUIRE Booster Dose For Sinovac + Elderly!

Is It A Good Idea To Mix COVID-19 Vaccines?

Yes, studies have shown that it is not only safe to mix COVID-19 vaccines, such heterologous vaccinations will greatly increase your protection against the coronavirus.

Many countries are now giving heterologous booster shots, and the JKJAV expert committee has also recommended to proceed with heterologous vaccinations.

Heterologous vaccination is like learning different martial arts. By learning different ways to handle the coronavirus, your immune system is better able to beat COVID-19.

The Malaysia Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who was vaccinated with two doses of the Sinovac vaccine, also received a Pfizer heterologous booster shot :

Do We Need To Pay?

Like the COVID-19 vaccine, the booster shot is provided for FREE under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

How To Apply For COVID-19 Booster Dose?

You do NOT need to apply for the COVID-19 booster dose.

Once you are eligible, you will be given an appointment notification in MySejahtera to go to a GP / government clinic or hospital for your booster dose.

If you do not have MySejahtera, you will be informed by SMS. So please keep an eye out for your appointment!

You can also put yourself on the COVID-19 vaccine standby list at nearby clinics.

Malaysia HALVES Booster Dose Interval To Just 3 Months!

Malaysia just HALVED the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose interval to 3 months!

Here is what you need to know…

Malaysia HALVES Booster Dose Interval To Just 3 Months!

The Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) just announced that the existing 6 month booster dose interval is now halved to just 3 months!

Here is a table I created to summarise what they just announced :

Primary Series
Vaccine
Recommended
Booster
Alternative
Booster
Timing After
Primary Series
Pfizer Pfizer Moderna After 3 months
AstraZeneca Pfizer AstraZeneca
Sinovac Pfizer AstraZeneca or
Sinovac
Sinopharm Pfizer AstraZeneca or
Sinopharm *

Janssen Pfizer AstraZeneca After 2 months

* Note : These booster doses are still pending NPRA approval, and are therefore, not available yet.

Read more : Sinovac Booster Dose : Can You Get It? Should You Take It?

Who Should Get Booster Dose In Malaysia?

The technical working group also evaluated the latest evidence, and introduced new recommendations for the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose.

These individuals are advised to receive a booster dose at least 3 months after their primary vaccination.

  • All senior citizens 60 years and above
  • All adults 18 years and above who received all types of vaccines (Pfizer, AZ and CoronaVac), using the age de-escalation approach
    – 50 years old and above,
    – 40 years old and above, and
    – 18 years old and above
  • Individuals with co-morbidities
  • Residents and employees at long-term care facilities

Why Malaysia Reduced The Booster Dose Interval To 3 Months?

KKM made this decision based on the recent RECoVaM study, which showed the waning protection of COVID-19 vaccines, especially the Sinovac vaccine.

They were also concerned about the latest data on the Omicron variant, which showed greater transmissibility, higher viral binding affinity and higher antibody escape.

Evidence collected over the last 3 weeks showed that a booster dose can increase protection against the Omicron variant. And early research involving 21 million booster doses in the UK showed that they are safe.

In line with those results, regulatory bodies in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia as well as panels of health experts now recommend that the booster dose vaccination should be given as early as three (3) months after completing the primary vaccine.

Did UK Gov Admit That Vaccines Damage Immune System?

Did the UK government admit that COVID-19 vaccines permanently damage our immune system?

Take a look at the new viral claim, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : UK Gov Admits That Vaccines Damage Immune System

People are excitedly sharing a WhatsApp message claiming that the UK government admitted that COVID-19 vaccines permanently damaged our immune system!

The claim is rather wordy, so skip to the next section for the facts…

🔥🔥 BREAKING NEWS

UK Government admit that the vaccines have damaged the natural immune systems of the double jabbed.

The British government has spilled the beans about that fact that once you get double jabbed, you will never again be able to acquire full natural immunity against Covid variants – or possibly any virus.

So let’s watch the ‘real’ pandemic begin now!

Truth : UK Gov Did NOT Say That Vaccines Damage Immune System

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS created by anti-vaxxers, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : UK Gov Did Not Admit Vaccines Damaged Immune Systems

First, let me be clear – the UK government did not admit that “vaccines have damaged the natural immune system of the double jabbed“. That’s just made up – complete and utter bullshit.

Fact #2 : COVID-19 Vaccines Boost Natural Immunity

The claim that vaccines prevent “full natural immunity” against COVID-19 variants is also FALSE.

COVID-19 vaccines may provide varying protection for COVID-19 variants, but they do not prevent you from gaining “full natural immunity”, if you get infected anyway.

In fact, it is YOUR OWN immune system that makes those antibodies, not the vaccine. That’s your natural immunity at work.

The COVID-19 vaccine only kickstarts the process, so you will have those antibodies before you get infected.

Fact #3 : COVID-19 Vaccines Do Not Prevent Immunity From Other Viruses

The claim that COVID-19 vaccines prevent you from acquiring full natural immunity from other viruses is also FALSE.

The COVID-19 vaccines merely teaches your immune system to identify the real SARS-CoV-2 virus, and learn how to make antibodies against it.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for COVID-19 vaccines to prevent you from acquiring immunity against other viruses.

If they did, they would have realised that the quote is actually in Page 23, and corrected the viral message.

That’s because the COVID-19 vaccines used in the UK only produce S (spike) antibodies, so any N antibodies detected would be from actual COVID-19 infections.

The claim that natural immunity is superior to vaccination is nonsense.

Vaccines are self defence classes for our immune system. They prepare our immune system for battle, so get vaccinated for the best outcome against COVID-19!

Malaysia To REQUIRE Booster Dose For Sinovac + Elderly!

The booster dose will be REQUIRED for Sinovac recipients, and those who are 60 years old and above!

Here is what you need to know…

Malaysia To REQUIRE Booster Dose For Sinovac + Elderly!

The WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunisation (SAGE) has earlier recommended that these individuals should receive a booster dose to be considered fully-vaccinated :

  • ALL individuals who received two doses of the Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines, and
  • Individuals 60 years and older who completed other COVID-19 vaccines,

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force – Booster (CITF-B) meeting on 8 December 2021 confirmed this suggestion.

Therefore, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced on 16 December 2021, that all these individuals MUST receive a booster dose by end of February 2022, to be considered as fully-vaccinated.

Read more : Latest COVID-19 Boost Dose Policy For Malaysia!

Why Is A Booster Dose Required In Malaysia?

As the Omicron variant has now been detected in Malaysia, the booster dose is of great importance. Omicron has been shown to breakthrough two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, but a booster dose confers significantly improved protection.

In fact, it will be a matter of time before everyone else will be required to receive a booster dose, to be considered fully-vaccinated.

So please get your booster dose as soon as you are offered one. Check your MySejahtera app for your booster dose appointment!

How To Get FREE Sinovac Booster Dose Using Selangkah!

The Selangor state government is offering FREE Sinovac vaccine booster doses under the Selvax programme!

Here is what you need to know about the free Sinovac booster dose using the Selangkah app!

Updated @ 2021-12-15 : Added the latest info, including a warning about rescheduling of appointments!

Sinovac Booster By Selvax : FREE For Selangor Residents

On 8 December 2021, the Selangor state government started offering FREE Sinovac booster doses under the Selvax programme.

These Sinovac booster doses are being administered at Selcare clinics and The KL Clinic branches all across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, at no cost to residents.

Note : On 15 December, the Selangkah team announced that they are rescheduling the booster dose appointments.

So please check your Selangkah app one day before the appointment, to see if there has been a change in the time slot.

Please go only at your appointed time, to avoid creating an unnecessary queue. And please make sure you maintain COVID-19 precautions at all times.

Sinovac Booster Dose : How To Get It FREE On Selangkah App!

This free Sinovac booster dose offer is open to all Selangor residents who received two Sinovac doses earlier, even those who did not receive them under the Selvax programme.

However, only 157,000 Sinovac vaccine doses will be available as booster shots, which could explain the long queues on the first day.

Earlier, you had to call up each clinic to arrange for an appointment. That has been superseded by registration through the updated Selangkah app using this method :

Step 1 : Install and open the Selangkah app.

Step 2 : In the main screen of the Selangkah app, tap on Selvax > Self Booking > Booster Dose.

Step 3 : Key in your personal information.

Step 4 : Verify the application using the OTP code.

Step 5 : Select the location and date of your preferred vaccination appointment

Step 6 : Key in the Voucher Code (see below) before you “check out”.

Step 7 : Bring the receipt for your appointment.

Please do NOT queue up like what happened earlier!

Here is a list of available clinics and Voucher Codes :

Selcare Clinic Section 13, Shah Alam : SCSAS

Selcare Clinic Skypark Subang : SCSSS

Selcare Clinic USJ Sentral : SCUSJ

Selcare Clinic Puchong : SCPPS

Selcare Clinic Sentosa : SCSKS

The KL Clinic, Rohas Perks : TKCRP

The KL Clinic, Menara Hap Seng 2 : TKCHS

The KL Clinic, Menara Olympia : TKCMO

The KL Clinic, Menara Worldwide : TKCMW

The KL Clinic, Sri Ramp : TKCSR

The KL Clinic, UBN Tower : TKCUBN

Sinovac booster dose vaccinations will be carried out at these clinics from 9 AM until 5 PM, from Monday to Friday only.

Free Sinovac Booster Dose By Selvax : Good Intentions, Terrible Idea

While I am cognisant of the Selangor state government’s good intentions, I frankly believe that this is a terrible idea.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that those who received two doses of the Sinovac vaccine get the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine as a booster dose instead.

The Sinovac CoronaVac has always been the least efficacious COVID-19 vaccine to be approved – at just over 50%.

On top of that, the recent RECoVaM study showed that the Sinovac vaccine’s protection against COVID-19 infections and hospitalisation drops dramatically after just 2 months!

That’s why CITF-B strongly recommended that Sinovac recipients take the Pfizer or AstraZeneca booster, and NOT a third dose of Sinovac.

In fact, Singapore considers people who took THREE doses of the Sinovac vaccine to be equivalent to those who took TWO doses of Pfizer / Moderna / AstraZeneca. It’s THAT bad.

Read more : Official CITF-B Booster Dose Recommendations!
Read more : Sinovac Vaccine Efficacy Rapidly Drops After 2 Months!

Heterologous vaccination (mixing of vaccines) has already been tested in many countries and PROVEN to be safe and even more effective.

The only medical reason to take a third dose of the Sinovac vaccine is if you had an earlier allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine, and there is no better alternative available.

Malaysia is offering the AstraZeneca vaccine as an alternative to the Pfizer vaccine, and it is a far SUPERIOR vaccine to Sinovac. So if the Pfizer vaccine scares you too much (thank you, fake news!), then get the AstraZeneca vaccine instead.

I have personally advised all of my family and friends NOT to take the third dose of the Sinovac vaccine, and opt instead for the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine for their booster dose.

The choice is yours. But please make that choice based on hard facts, and not fake news.

Did WHO Advise Against Booster Dose + Mixing Of Vaccines?

Did the WHO advise people against taking the booster dose, and the mixing of vaccines?

Take a look at the viral claims and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : WHO Advised Against Booster Dose + Mixing Of Vaccines!

Antivaxxers have sharing videos of WHO Chief Scientist Dr. Soumya Swaminathan saying that “there is no medical evidence that a third dose is necessary” and that it is a “data-free, evidence-free zone as far as mix-and-match” of vaccines is concerned.

There are a few videos being circulating, so we shared one example, together with two examples of messages that accompany the videos.

WHO said there is no medical evidence that booster shot is necessary and advised against the mix and match of vaccines – calling it a dangerous trend since there is very little information on doing so.👆🏻

👆WHO advised not to mix the vaccine, as there is no enough data on this mix and match.

Truth : WHO Advice On Booster Dose + Mixing Of Vaccines Out Of Context!

This is yet another effort by antivaxxers to discourage people from protecting themselves against COVID-19.

The truth is – WHO’s advice on the booster dose and the mixing of vaccines was taken out of context.

Here are the facts…

Fact #1 : The Video Was Recorded On 12 July 2021

First, it is important to note that the video was a slice of the COVID-19 Virtual Press Conference conducted by the WHO on 12 July 2021.

It is now the end of November 2021. Things have changed since then – there is more data on vaccine breakthrough, and the mixing of vaccines (heterologous vaccination).

It is irresponsible and misleading to resurrect an old video to convey a narrative that is contrary to what we know today.

Fact #2 : Viral Messages Are False

The accompanying messages are deliberately lying to you about what the WHO actually said.

You will realise that if you read the entire transcript of the 12 July 2021 WHO press conference, like I did.

  • WHO did not say that there is no medical evidence that booster dose is necessary
  • WHO did not advise against the mixing and matching of vaccines

I will provide more context in the next two segments…

Fact #3 : WHO Called For Sharing Of Vaccines Over Booster Dose

The WHO’s position at that time was that the limited supply of vaccines should be used to vaccinated those who are unvaccinated, rather than used as booster doses.

In that press conference, Dr. Ann Lindstrand pointed out that while there is a decline [in antibodies], you still have good protection as long as you have a full course of any WHO EUL vaccines.

She also said that it is “more important to be able to vaccinated a larger global population” than “to use the limited supply of doses” as booster doses.

Dr. Soumya Swaminathan agreed with Dr. Lindstrand and pointed out that the booster dose programme for the 11 high and upper-middle income countries will take up 800 million doses of vaccine at a time when many front-line and healthcare workers remain unvaccinated in other countries.

Read more : Fact Check : Omicron Variant Warning By RSA Doctors Group?

Fact #4 : WHO Advised INDIVIDUALS Against Mixing Of Vaccines

The WHO’s position at that time is clear – individuals should not mix and match their vaccines as they please.

Dr. Soumya Swaminathan was specifically referring to “people who say they’ve taken one and they are planning to take another one“.

She goes on to say that, “There are studies going on; we need to wait for that and maybe it will be a very good approach“.

And she warned that, “It will be a chaotic situation in countries if citizens start deciding when and who should be taking a second, third or fourth dose“.

She was clearly talking about individuals taking vaccinations into their own hands. She clarified that later in a tweet :

To clarify, I warned against individuals mixing and matching vaccines on their own.

Fact #5 : Some Vaccines Lose Protection Faster Than Others

It is now the end of November 2021, and studies have shown that the protection from some vaccines wane faster than others.

For example, the RECoVaM study showed that protection against COVID-19 infections dropped significantly for the Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines after a few months.

But as I explained before, that drop in efficacy is not really as important as the vaccine’s protection against hospitalisation and death.

However, their data also showed that the Sinovac vaccine’s protection against ICU admissions dropped very low.

So giving Sinovac vaccine recipients a Pfizer booster dose is clearly the right decision.

Read more : Sinovac Vaccine Efficacy Rapidly Drops After 2 Months!

Fact #6 : Mixing Vaccines Lead To Better Protection

At least three teams looked into the mixing of COVID-19 vaccines – heterologous vaccination, and they all concluded that it produced BETTER protection.

Sweden

  • More than 100,000 people received a dose of AstraZeneca, followed by an mRNA vaccine (either Pfizer or Moderna)
  • Those who received this mixed were 68% less likely to get a symptomatic infection.
  • Those who received two doses of AstraZeneca were 50% less likely to get a symptomatic infection.

Denmark

  • Those who received AstraZeneca + Pfizer were 88% less likely to get infected by COVID-19.
  • This efficacy is similar to two doses of Pfizer.

France

  • Healthcare workers who received a mix of AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines had 50% lower COVID-19 infection rates compared to those who received two doses of Pfizer.

Both the booster dose, and the mixing of vaccines, are not only SAFE, they offer BETTER protection against COVID-19.

Do not let these lies by antivaxxers prevent you from protecting yourself and your family against COVID-19.

Booster Dose : What Should YOU Do Before / During / After?

Getting ready for your COVID-19 booster dose vaccination?

Find out what you need to do BEFORE, DURING and AFTER your booster dose vaccination!

What Should You Do Before Booster Dose Vaccination?

Just received your COVID-19 booster dose appointment? This is what you need to do BEFORE your COVID-19 vaccination!

Medication?

There are fake messages on social media asking people to stop taking their medications before getting their booster dose vaccination. That is false and dangerous!

You should CONTINUE to take your medication, unless advised otherwise by your doctor.

Dietary / Exercise Restrictions?

There are generally NO restrictions on diet or exercise before your booster dose vaccination, unless your doctor advises otherwise.

However, you should limit or avoid alcohol the day before your vaccination. Excessive alcohol intake can suppress your immune system, and reduce the efficacy of the vaccine.

Painkillers?

You should NOT take painkillers before going for your vaccination.

That’s because painkillers can suppress your immune response, and reduce the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Read more : Can You Take Painkillers Before / After COVID-19 Vaccination?

On Vaccination Day

On the day of your vaccination, please make sure to :

  1. Wear loose and comfortable clothes.
  2. Have a good meal, and drink some water. Don’t drink too much, or you will need to go to the toilet!
  3. Make sure you do NOT have a fever, or any other flu-like symptoms.
If you are sick, do NOT go to the clinic / hospital.
Call them up and ask for a new appointment.
  4. Bring a smartphone with MySejahtera installed, if possible (Malaysia only, not compulsory).
  5. You must bring some form of identification – MyKad (Malaysia) or passport.
  6. Bring your medication list, if you need to ask the doctor’s advice at the clinic / hospital.
  7. If you are pregnant, please bring your health record book.
  8. You must wear a face mask, and if possible, wear a face shield.
  9. Bring a bottle of water, in case you get thirsty.
  10. Bring a pen, and something stiff to write on, to fill in the forms.

Which Booster Dose Should You Choose?

You may be offered a choice of booster dose, but generally, the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force – Booster (CITF-B) recommends the Pfizer booster dose.

Using the Pfizer booster dose gives you a big boost in protection, almost equivalent to those who received three doses of the mRNA vaccine.

This is especially important for those who are using less efficacious vaccines like Sinovac and Sinopharm. While a Sinovac booster dose is offered, it will not give you as much protection as a Pfizer or AstraZeneca booster dose.

Read more : Sinovac Booster Dose : Can You Get It? Should You Get It?
Read more :
Official CITF-B Vaccine Booster Dose Recommendations!

What Should You Do During Booster Dose Vaccination?

When you get to the vaccination room or booth, please follow these steps :

  1. Check the label of the vial or prepared syringe, to confirm the vaccine you are receiving. Here in Malaysia, that’s Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Sinovac.
  2. The doctor or nurse will show you the syringe, for you to verify that it has the correct volume.
Vaccines Dose Volume
Pfizer COMIRNATY 0.3 ml
AstraZeneca Vaxzevria 0.5 ml
Sinovac CoronaVac 0.5 ml

If a low dead volume (LDV) syringe is used, you should read the volume from the first ring of the plunger, not the top.

Read more : How To Read The Volume Of LDV Syringe Correctly?

  1. Ask that you be allowed to record a video of the vaccination process.
  2. After receiving the injection, the doctor or nurse will show you the syringe, for you to confirm that it is empty.
  3. Before leaving the vaccination room, go through the video to confirm that you received the dose.
  4. If there is any discrepancy, you can address it with the doctor or nurse, or ask to see a supervisor.

Read more : Vaccine Underdose : What Should You Watch Out For?

What Should You Do After Booster Dose Vaccination?

First, congratulate yourself on protecting yourself and your family. Then take some photos before you leave the clinic / hospital, and share them on social media!

Dietary Restrictions?

There are NO RESTRICTIONS on your diet or daily life after your booster dose vaccination. Please remember – you were vaccinated against COVID-19, not convicted of a crime!

However, it is best if you limit or avoid alcohol intake for a few days. Excessive alcohol intake can suppress your immune system, and reduce vaccine efficacy.

Exercise Or Not?

You may see health authorities advising against strenuous exercise after your vaccination. There are a few reasons :

  • A precautionary measure for adolescents and young adults (below 30 years of age) who received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, as there is a very small risk that they may get myocarditis / pericarditis.
  • To avoid accidents if people start feeling side effects like headache or fever while exercising.
  • To avoid people conflating post-exercise pain and reporting it as post-vaccination side effect.

Take it easy for a few days, and then start with light exercises. Listen to your body, and look out for chest pain or breathing difficulties.

Even if you are feeling fine, take the time to slowly ramp up your exercise over the next few days, as a precaution.

Continue COVID-19 Precautions!

You must continue to take COVID-19 precautions in public, like wear a face mask and a face shield, and maintaining physical distance in public, because :

  • you will not receive maximum protection until 2-3 weeks after your booster dose.
  • vaccines cannot protect you 100% against COVID-19, so there is a small risk of breakthrough infections.
  • new variants like the Delta variant are partially resistant to vaccines.

Report Side Effects

You can expect some mild side effects over the next day or two, like fever, muscle ache and possibly headache.

You should not worry about them – they are evidence of your immune system learning to fight against COVID-19.

You can take painkillers if you need to, but try to use paracetamol / acetaminophen instead of NSAIDS like ibuprofen and aspirin.

Make sure you report any serious side effects you may encounter, and seek medical attention at the nearest clinic or hospital.

Fact Check: Shocking UK Report On COVID Vaccine Injuries?

Did the UK government issue a shocking report on COVID-19 vaccine injuries, with many cases of blindnessstroke, spontaneous abortion and death?

Take a look at the shocking UK Yellow Card report, and find out what the FACTS really are!

This fact check was earlier posted in February 2021, and was updated and reposted after the same fake news recirculated again on WhatsApp.

Claim : Shocking UK Report On COVID Vaccine Injuries!

The Daily Expose UK posted an article called “SHOCKING! – Official Data on Adverse Reactions to Covid Vaccines release“.

It was reposted by Principia Scientific International as “UK Government Releases Shocking Report On COVID Vaccine Side Effects“, with a PDF version circulating on social media, or this message :

LATEST NEWS > > *As of 24/1/2021, out of the 5.4 millions UK people taken first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, 107 people died. 5 people are now blind, 21 suffered a stroke, 4 women suffered a miscarriage.

According to Daily Expose UK, the UK government report revealed that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine caused these injuries or adverse reactions :

  • 5 cases of blindness
  • 31 cases of visual impairment
  • 21 cerebrovascular accidents (stroke)
  • 4 spontaneous abortions (miscarriages)
  • 59 deaths
  • 7 sudden deaths
  • 69 reports of Bell’s palsy

Daily Expose UK also found that the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine was responsible for two spontaneous abortions.

Take a minute to let the shock and horror pass, before you read on and find out what the facts really are…

UK Report On COVID Vaccine Injuries : The Facts

The Daily Expose UK and Principia Scientific are infamous for creating FAKE NEWS to generate page views and money.

The screenshots are indeed from a UK government report. However, the Daily Expose UK article intentionally misleads everyone on the TRUTH.

Here are the facts…

Fact #1 : It Was A Yellow Card Summary Report

The UK government report mentioned in the article was the weekly Yellow Card summary report (as of 27 January 2021).

As the name suggests, it is released on a weekly basis, and is otherwise not special in any sense.

Fact #2 : Anyone Can Report Anything On The Yellow Card Site

What the Daily Expose UK intentionally “neglected” to mention was that ANYONE from ANYWHERE can report ANYTHING on the Coronavirus Yellow Card reporting site.

You can report that the COVID-19 vaccine caused you all kinds of injuries, from giving you AIDS or brain cancer to killing you outright.

Heck, you can create a Yellow Card report even if you are NOT living in the UK, and have NOT actually received the vaccine!

Here are screenshots of us reporting that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine caused a leg fracture, that resulted in an abnormality in an unborn child!

This is how absurd the Yellow Card reporting system really is. No different from the US VAERS system really.

Read more : Here’s How Antivaxxers Create Fake News Using VAERS!

Fact #3 : Yellow Card Reports Are NOT Evidence Of Side Effects

Daily Expose UK also intentionally “neglected” to mention that Yellow Card reports are NOT evidence of actual adverse reactions.

The UK MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) which operates the Yellow Card programme stated very clearly that (with our emphasis) :

It is very important to note that a Yellow Card report does not necessarily mean the vaccine caused that reaction or event.

We ask for any suspicions to be reported, even if the reporter isn’t sure if it was caused by the vaccine. Reports to the scheme are known as suspected adverse reactions (ADRs).

Many suspected ADRs reported on a Yellow Card do not have any relation to the vaccine or medicine and it is often coincidental that they both occurred around the same time.

It is therefore important that the suspected ADRs described in this report are not interpreted as being proven side effects of COVID-19 vaccines.

Fact #4 : Known Side Effects Are Mild / Inconsequential

Daily Expose UK also intentionally “failed to expose” the fact that the side effects of both Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are mild and/or inconsequential.

Thanks to large trials involving over 100,000 people, scientists have determined that the side effects of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines for COVID-19 are mild and/or inconsequential.

The UK MHRA classified the known side effects into how commonly they occur, as follows :

Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects

  • Very Common : pain at injection site, tiredness, headache, muscle pain, chills, joint pain, fever
  • Common : injection site swelling, redness at injection site, nausea
  • Uncommon : enlarged lymph nodes, feeling unwell
  • Rare : temporary one-sided facial drooping (Bell’s palsy)
  • Very Rare : severe allergic reaction

Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects

  • Very Common : tenderness, pain, warmth, redness, itching, swelling or bruising at injection site, generally felling unwell, feeling tired, chills, headache, nausea, joint pain or muscle ache
  • Common : a lump at injection site, fever, vomiting, flu-like symptoms
  • Uncommon : feeling dizzy, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, enlarged lymph nodes, sweating, itchy skin / rash

Fact #5 : COVID-19 Has Killed Over 2.4 Million People… So Far

Daily Expose and Principia Scientific are fretting over a hundred of so “reported deaths” in the UK Yellow Card database, that have NOT been proven to be caused by the vaccine.

We should point out that as of 26 November 2021, COVID-19 has killed :

  • Over 5.18 million people worldwide
  • Over 144,000 people in the UK

Those are real people who died from COVID-19. Real people with families who have to live with the loss.

Workers wearing protective gear bury bodies in a trench on Hart Island in New York City on April 9.

On the other hand, the COVID-19 vaccines have been proven to be safe and efficacious. They will prevent millions of people from unnecessarily dying from what is now a preventable disease.

Daily Expose UK and Principia Scientific, suicide is meant to be a SOLITARY hobby. It’s one thing to risk your own lives. Just don’t lure others to commit suicide with you!

RECoVaM Study Highlights How Well Covid-19 Vaccines Work!

Take a look at what the massive RECoVaM study revealed about just how well COVID-19 vaccines work!

RECoVaM Study : What Is It?

The RECoVaM (Real-world Evaluation of Covid-19 Vaccines in Malaysia) is a large study conducted by the Institute for Clinical Research (ICR) under the Malaysia Ministry of Health.

It was conducted from 1 April until 12 September 2021, involving just over 14.5 million fully-vaccinated individuals in Malaysia, out of an estimated population of 32.7 million.

On 24 November 2021, a peer-reviewed paper on the RECoVaM results (involving a cohort of 1,286,881 participants) was published in the open-access journal, Vaccines.

This is not only a massive study, it is an important one because it gives us a good idea of HOW WELL the three vaccines used in the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) were working.

Let’s take a look at the results…

RECoVaM Study : The Good News

The good news is that the RECoVaM study showed that the COVID-19 vaccines have greatly protected fully-vaccinated individuals.

Here is a general summary from the peer-reviewed paper – PICK-ing Malaysia’s Epidemic Apart: Effectiveness of a Diverse COVID-19 Vaccine Portfolio :

  • Full vaccination was 88% effective in preventing COVID-19 infections
  • Full vaccination was 86% effective in preventing symptomatic infections
  • 83% effective in preventing ICU admissions
  • 88% effective in preventing deaths
  • 50.4% of fully-vaccinated individuals admitted to ICU was 60 and above in age
  • 88.6% of fully-vaccinated individuals admitted to the ICU had co-morbidities
  • 76.3% of fully-vaccinated individuals who died was 60 and above in age
  • 92.0% of fully-vaccinated individuals who died had co-morbidities

COVID-19 Vaccines Prevented A LOT Of ICU Admissions

COVID-19 vaccines are just self-defence classes for our immune system, but not everyone’s immune system can learn well enough to defend itself.

So even fully-vaccinated people can get infected and some will end up in the ICU. But the RECoVaM data showed the COVID-19 vaccines prevented A LOT of ICU admissions.

Using a subset of the RECoVaM data involving 1.28 million participants, I created this pie chart to show you the distribution of ICU admissions.

As you can see, unvaccinated people or partially-vaccinated people constitute the VAST MAJORITY of ICU admissions – 94%!

During the study period, approximately 44% of the population was partially-vaccinated before becoming fully-vaccinated. Yet they only accounted for just 6% of ICU admissions.

This shows just how effective the COVID-19 vaccines were in preventing ICU admissions.

COVID-19 Vaccines Prevented A LOT Of Deaths

Fully vaccinated people can also die from COVID-19. But the RECoVaM data showed that the COVID-19 vaccines prevented A LOT of deaths.

Using RECoVaM data and mortality data from the Ministry of Health, I created this pie chart to show you the distribution of COVID-19 deaths.

As you can see, unvaccinated people or partially-vaccinated people constitute the VAST MAJORITY of COVID-19 deaths – 91.5%!

During the study period, approximately 44% of the population was partially-vaccinated before becoming fully-vaccinated. Yet they only accounted for just 8.5% of COVID-19 deaths.

This shows just how effective the COVID-19 vaccines were in preventing COVID-19 deaths.

Even Sinovac CoronaVac Prevented A LOT Of Deaths

The Sinovac vaccine was obviously the least effective at preventing death, but even it greatly cut the risk of dying from COVID-19.

And how do I know that?

Take a look at this table I created to show you just how effective each vaccine was in preventing death, compared to the unvaccinated population.

Vaccine Deaths Mortality
Rate
vs
Sinovac
vs
Pfizer
vs
AstraZeneca
Unvaccinated 19,147 0.058554% +13.3x +59.3x +1,368x
Sinovac 1,445 0.004419% Baseline +4.5x +103x
Pfizer 323 0.000988% -4.5x Baseline +23x
AstraZeneca 14 0.000043% -103x -23x Baseline

Sinovac CoronaVac

  • cut risk of death by 92.5%
  • unvaccinated are 13.3x more likely to die

Pfizer COMIRNATY

  • cut risk of death by 98.3%
  • unvaccinated are 59.3x more likely to die

AstraZeneca Vaxzevria

  • cut risk of death by 99.9%
  • unvaccinated are 1,368x more likely to die

There is no doubt that taking ANY vaccine would GREATLY cut down your risk of dying from COVID-19.

That is why I wrote earlier this year that COVID-19 vaccine efficacy does not matter as much as its protection against DEATH.

RECoVaM Study : The Bad News

Waning Effectiveness

COVID-19 vaccines provide strong protection against COVID-19 infection by triggering our immune system to produce neutralising antibodies. However, antibody levels naturally drop over time.

The RECoVaM study showed that protection against COVID-19 infection wanes 3-5 months after vaccination. This is particularly a problem for Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines.

However, I should point out that while getting protected from an infection is what everyone hopes for, it is far more important that the vaccine protects us from developing severe COVID-19 or dying from it.

In that respect, Pfizer’s protection against COVID-19 infection wanes within 3-5 months, but it still offers great protection against ICU admissions and excellent protection against death.

The Sinovac vaccine though was shown to offer very little protection against COVID-19 infection and ICU admission after just two months or so…

That is why Malaysia is now offering a FREE Pfizer booster dose for Sinovac vaccine recipients, just three months after receiving Dose 2.

The Pfizer booster dose will give Sinovac vaccine recipients a much needed boost in protection, bringing it up to par with those who were fortunate enough to get vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer.

So please look out for your booster dose notification, and make sure you get it ASAP!

And I recommend that you get the Pfizer booster dose right now, instead of waiting for a third dose of the Sinovac vaccine.

That doesn’t mean that if you received other vaccines, you do not need a booster dose.

The waning effectiveness against COVID-19 infections and serious illness mean that EVERYONE should get a booster dose. You just don’t need them as early as Sinovac recipients.

Getting a booster dose will quickly restore your protection against COVID-19. So please get your booster dose as soon as you are eligible!

Sinovac Vaccine Efficacy Rapidly Drops After 2 Months!

The RECoVaM study has just shown that the efficacy of the Sinovac vaccine rapidly drops after 2 months!

Here is what you need to know!

RECoVaM Identifies Sinovac Vaccine Efficacy Problem

When the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine was introduced, it was already known that it was the least efficacious vaccine against symptomatic COVID-19.

However, it was heavily adopted in many countries because it was available, and it offered very good protection against hospitalisation and death.

However, the recent RECoVaM (Real-world Evaluation of Covid-19 Vaccines in Malaysia) study identified a problem with the efficacy of the Sinovac vaccine against hospitalisation and death.

The RECoVaM study was conducted from 1 April until 12 September 2021, during which over 14.5 million people in Malaysia were fully vaccinated, out of an estimated population of 32.7 million.

Let’s take a look at the results…

Note : I should point out that the AstraZeneca results in the RECoVaM study may be skewed because it was taken up by a younger part of the population.

ICU Admissions

Despite the Sinovac’s Phase 3 trials showing that it offered very good protection against ICU admissions, the RECoVaM study discovered that a comparably high number of Sinovac recipients ended up in the ICU.

The ICU breakthrough rate of 0.011% may seem very low, but that’s 1 out of 9,000 Sinovac recipients and 5.4x higher than the Pfizer vaccine.

Vaccine ICU
Breakthrough
vs
Pfizer
vs
AstraZeneca
Sinovac 0.011% +5.4x +144x
Pfizer 0.002% Baseline +21x
AstraZeneca 0.001% -21x Baseline

Deaths

The Sinovac vaccine was good at preventing deaths, but even so – 1 out of 6,700 Sinovac recipients died from COVID-19. The Pfizer vaccine, in comparison, was 3x better at preventing deaths.

Vaccine Death
Breakthrough
vs
Pfizer
vs
AstraZeneca
Sinovac 0.015% +3.4x +79x
Pfizer 0.005% Baseline +23x
AstraZeneca 0.002% -23x Baseline

Sinovac Vaccine Efficacy Rapidly Drops After 2 Months!

On 23 November 2021, JKJAV shared an analysis of the RECoVaM data, showing WHY the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine was not performing as expected.

The RECoVaM data showed that there was a precipitous drop in Sinovac’s effectiveness against infection and ICU admission after the first two months of full protection.

The Sinovac vaccine’s protection against symptomatic COVID-19 infection dropped from 76% to just 28%, while its protection against ICU admission dropped from 55% to just 28%.

The good news is that it still offers good protection against death at 76%. However, that protection still pales against the protection offered by better vaccines like the Pfizer COMIRNATY vaccine.

When we are talking about millions of people getting vaccinated, every 1% in difference means tens of thousands of additional deaths.

Sinovac Booster Dose : Can You Get It? Should You Take It?

Now that the Sinovac booster dose has been approved, can you get it?

If you can’t get it yet, should you WAIT to get a Sinovac booster dose instead of other vaccines?

Updated @ 2021-11-17 : Added Sinovac booster dose approval and updated advice on a Sinovac booster dose.

Updated @ 2021-11-12 : Added more information on Sinovac vaccine efficacy and advice on a Sinovac booster dose.
Originally published @ 2021-11-10

Can You Get The Sinovac Booster Dose?

Malaysia started the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose programme on 13 October 2021, targeting those who received the Pfizer vaccine, before being expanded on 22 October 2021 to those who received the Sinovac vaccine.

Since then, many people have been asking if they can get a booster dose of the Sinovac vaccine instead.

The updated answer is SOON, but not yet.

On 17 November 2021, the Malaysia Drug Control Authority (DCA) approved the Sinovac and AstraZeneca booster doses for homologous vaccination.

That means Sinovac and AstraZeneca booster doses will be given to those who earlier received Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines respectively.

However, this does NOT mean the Sinovac booster dose is immediately available.

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force – Booster (CITF-B) will be targeting specific groups to receive these booster doses, which will be detailed later.

Right now, the COVID-19 Booster Dose programme in Malaysia continues to use the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Even people vaccinated with Sinovac will receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine as a booster dose.

If you had earlier received the Sinovac vaccine, and are open to receive the Pfizer booster dose, I highly recommend you get yourself on the standby list ASAP.

If CITF-B eventually decides to give only homologous vaccinations for Sinovac, you will lose your chance to get the Pfizer booster dose.

My advice remains the same – don’t wait for the Sinovac booster dose. Get the Pfizer booster dose if it is offered to you.

It is FAR MORE EFFECTIVE, and gives you a big boost in protection, especially if you received the Sinovac vaccine earlier.

Should You Get The Sinovac Booster Dose?

The Malaysia Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, mentioned earlier that people with severe allergies, or who have suffered an allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine earlier, may be offered a booster shot of the Sinovac or AstraZeneca vaccine instead.

Now that the Sinovac vaccine has been approved as a booster dose, should you WAIT to get it?

That very much depends on a number of factors.

Are You Allergic To The Pfizer Vaccine?

If you are allergic to the Pfizer vaccine, then you definitely cannot receive a booster dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

You will have to get a booster dose of other vaccine types – viral vector vaccines like AstraZeneca or Sputnik V, or inactivated virus vaccines like Sinovac or Sinopharm.

But with so many better vaccine options available out there, Sinovac CoronaVac should be your last choice, not your first.

Read more : Did FDA Panel Reject Pfizer Booster Dose Over Myocarditis?

Are There Better Options?

If you are given the option to switch to Pfizer or AstraZeneca, you should definitely opt for either one over the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine.

Of all the WHO approved vaccines, Sinovac CoronaVac is the least efficacious COVID-19 vaccine, offering just over 50% efficacy against symptomatic COVID-19.

And that was before it was tested against the highly-infectious Delta variant.

In June 2021, Chinese CDC deputy director Dr. Feng Zijian admitted that their inactivated virus vaccines are “less effective” against the Delta variant.

While Sinovac has tried to push their booster dose as a way to shore up the CoronaVac’s efficacy against the Delta variant, it would be foolish to assume that it offers anything more than a temporary boost in relatively ineffective antibodies.

Even China is moving to use mRNA booster doses for those who received Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines, with their own mRNA vaccine called ARCoVAX entering mass production soon.

Read more : Are Chinese Vaccines The Most Effective Vs. Delta Variant?

Sinovac / Sinopharm Should Require Three Doses Minimum

On 12 October 2021, WHO experts recommended that those over 60 who received the Sinovac or Sinopharm’s vaccines should be given a third shot.

They notably refrained from calling it a booster dose, suggesting instead that they should be administered as three doses, instead of the recommended two doses, for a primary series vaccine.

This was precisely the same policy adopted by Singapore on 23 October 2021, when their Ministry of Health declared that three doses of the Sinovac vaccine will be REQUIRED for a person to be considered fully-vaccinated.

In other words – two doses isn’t enough to be considered fully-vaccinated for these inactivated virus vaccines.  They have to be taken as three doses MINIMUM.

Even Malaysia’s RECoVaM data show that the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine is comparatively weak, allowing significantly more breakthrough infections that result in ICU care and deaths.

If you still feel that you prefer to get three Sinovac vaccine doses, instead of using a different vaccine – that’s fine. It is better than not getting a booster shot at all.

The key thing is to GET PROTECTED against COVID-19, by getting fully-vaccinated. If that means three doses of Sinovac, so be it.

My advice remains the same as it did earlier this year. Don’t wait – get the first vaccine (or booster dose) you are offered!

AstraZeneca + Sinovac Booster Dose Approved In Malaysia!

The AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccine booster doses have been approved in Malaysia!

Here is what we know so far…

AstraZeneca + Sinovac Booster Dose Approved In Malaysia!

On 17 November 2021, the Malaysia Drug Control Authority (DCA) agreed to give conditional approval for the use of the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines as booster dose in Malaysia.

Both AstraZeneca and Sinovac booster doses were approved for all individuals 18 years and above who received the same primary series vaccine.

This is homologous vaccination, the opposite of heterologous vaccination being carried out right now with Sinovac recipients receiving the Pfizer booster dose.

Read more : Sinovac Vaccine Recipients To Get Pfizer Booster Dose!

The DCA also announced the conditional registration of the AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by SK Bioscience Co., Ltd. in South Korea. Malaysia has now approved three AstraZeneca vaccine manufacturers :

  • AstraZeneca Nijmegen B.V., Netherlands
  • Siam Bioscience Co., Ltd., Thailand
  • SK Bioscience Co., Ltd., South Korea

How Will AstraZeneca + Sinovac Booster Dose Be Given In Malaysia?

The AstraZeneca and Sinovac booster dose will be given after these intervals :

  • AstraZeneca : 6 months after Dose 2
  • Sinovac : 3 to 6 months after Dose 2

While both vaccines have been approved as booster doses, it does not mean that everyone will get to receive them.

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force – Booster (CITF-B) will target specific groups to receive these booster doses, which will be detailed later…

COVID-19 Booster Dose Now Open To Adults 40 & Above!

The COVID-19 booster dose is now available to adults who are 40 years and older!

Here is what you need to know…

COVID-19 Booster Dose Now Open To Adults 40 & Above!

Malaysia started the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose programme on 13 October 2021, targeting medical and security frontliners, people who are 60 years or older, and people with co-morbidities.

On 9 November 2021, the Ministry of Health announced that the booster dose programme would henceforth be open to younger adults. The new criteria to receive the COVID-19 booster dose is now :

  • all frontliners
  • adults without co-morbidities : 40 years and above
  • adults with co-morbidities : 18 years and above

In addition, the booster dose will only be given to those who received these vaccines :

There is currently NO booster dose programme for the AstraZeneca vaccine, because its protection appears to remain strong even after 6 months.

You will receive the Pfizer booster dose, even if you were given the Sinovac vaccine earlier. This mixing of vaccines (called heterologous vaccination) is not only safe, it gives you a bigger boost in protection against the coronavirus.

Read more : Malaysia’s COVID-19 Booster Dose Policy Explained!

COVID-19 Booster Dose For Adults : A Quick Primer

As of 12 November 2021, only the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for use as a booster dose in Malaysia.

The Pfizer booster dose is the same as the first two doses of the COMIRNATY vaccine  – 30 micrograms in a 0.3 ml intramuscular injection.

For those who earlier received the Pfizer vaccine, the booster dose works like a refresher class in college, offering your immune system a third self-defence class against the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It also kickstarts the production of new antibodies against the coronavirus.

For those who earlier received the Sinovac vaccine, the Pfizer booster dose works like a different, better self-defence class. Instead of learning Tai Chi for the third time, you are now learning Wing Chun or Krav Maga.

Did Thai Student Die From Mixing Of COVID-19 Vaccines?

Did a 20 year-old Thai student die from the mixing of her COVID-19 vaccines?

Find out what happened, and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Thai Student Died From Mixing Of COVID-19 Vaccines!

People are sharing a Bangkok Post article about a Thai student who recently died of a stroke, after receiving a Sinovac vaccine and then the AstraZeneca vaccine.

They are claiming that her death shows the danger of mixing COVID-19 vaccines.

The danger of mixing vaccines

A student who developed blood clots after getting her second Covid-19 vaccine shot and her left leg was amputated has since died of a haemorrhagic stroke after brain surgery.

She had been inoculated first with the Sinovac vaccine, and then given AstraZeneca as her second dose.

Truth : Thai Student Did NOT Die From Mixing Of COVID-19 Vaccines!

This is yet another COVID-19 vaccine FAKE NEWS, and here are the reasons why!

Fact #1 : Vaccine Mixing Will Not Cause Blood Clots / Stroke

Most people do not even bother to read the Bangkok Post article to find out what they reported, and accepted the fake claim at face value.

The Bangkok Post never associated her death with the mixing of COVID-19 vaccines. That was added by the fake news creator.

Vaccines are like self-defence classes, so taking different vaccines (also known as heterologous vaccination) has been shown to impart better protection against COVID-19.

Taking different vaccines won’t interact with each other or cause problems like blood clots or stroke, because they are taken weeks apart.

Fact #2 : She Developed Blood Clots Which Required Amputation

The student, Ketsiree Kongkaew, received the Sinovac vaccine for her first dose, and subsequently the AstraZeneca vaccine on 13 August 2021.

She complained of fever and chest pains about 3 days later, which a doctor at the Phangnga Hospital diagnosed as a bladder infection.

However, she later experienced severe pain in her left leg, which an X-ray revealed were blood clots that required urgent surgery.

She was put on thrombolytic drugs to dissolve the clots, and transferred to two other hospitals, before doctors decided to amputate her leg.

Fact #3 : AstraZeneca Vaccine Can Cause TTS / VITT

The Bangkok Post article did not directly associate her blood clots with the AstraZeneca vaccine, only noting that they occurred after she received the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The AstraZeneca vaccine is known to cause a rare side effect called thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) or vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT).

This side effect is unusual because it causes blood clots to develop in the large veins of the brains, abdomen or lungs, together with low platelet counts, leading to bleeding tendencies.

It can also cause blood clots in large arteries like the carotid and middle cerebral arteries, but again, together with low platelet counts. These arterial blood clots are much less common than venous blood clots.

It is unknown if Ketsiree’s blood clots are related to the AstraZeneca vaccine, since they developed in her leg’s artery. But it is certainly a possibility.

Read more : AstraZeneca Vaccine Blood Clot Risk : How Dangerous Is It?

Fact #4 : She Died From A Haemorrhagic Stroke 2 Months Later

On Friday, 22 October 2021, Ketsiree developed a haemorrhage stroke (bleeding in her brain), due to the thrombolytic drugs she was taking to treat the blood clots.

She underwent emergency surgery, but did not recover and had to rely on a ventilator. She was pronounced dead on Monday, 25 October 2021.

Her death was therefore a result of a haemorrhagic stroke that occurred 2 months later, and not TTS / VITT from the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Rescue volunteers taking the body of 20-year-old student Ketsiree Kongkaew to Ao Luk district of Krabi province on Monday night for funeral rites and burial. Credit : Radio Thailand

Fact #5 : COVID-19 Can Cause Similar Blood Clots

While the AstraZeneca vaccine can cause TTS / VITT, the risk is exceedingly low.

More importantly, and this is something most people do not know – COVID-19 itself can cause similar blood clots in the cerebral vein, at much higher levels.

The Journal of American College of Cardiology recently reported that the risk of cerebral vein thrombosis (blood clots in the a major brain vein) is much higher with COVID-19 than vaccines :

Cerebral Vein Thrombosis Risk Per Million
People
Difference
Patient with COVID-19 207 +8,525%
AstraZeneca Vaccine 3.6 +50%
Normal Population 2.4 Baseline

So the benefits of getting vaccinated against COVID-19 still far outweigh the risk of getting TTS / VITT from the AstraZeneca vaccine.

More importantly, we can watch out for early symptoms of TTS / VITT, and seek early treatment before complications develop.

Fact Check : Top 4 COVID-19 Vaccines Are From China?

Did the New York Times confirm that the top four COVID-19 vaccines are from China?

Find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Top 4 COVID-19 Vaccines Are From China

People have been excitedly sharing this amazing news about Chinese vaccines on WhatsApp and Facebook.

It’s a long message, so skip to the next section for the facts…

Covid-19.. Ranking of Vaccines

US accepted the best vaccine is from China.

America’s New York Times reports.

China’s 1-4 best vaccine rankings, while many admired Pfizer ranked sixth.

– The safety rating of vaccines currently injected in Thailand

Sinovac and AZ are 2nd and 5th, while the demanding Pfizer is 6th.

Truth : Top 4 COVID-19 Vaccines Are NOT From China

This is just an updated version of the earlier fake news claiming that Chinese vaccines are the world’s safest.

And here are the reasons why it’s just FAKE NEWS…

Fact #1 : It Was Not An Actual NYT Article

The posts promoted a New York Times link, but it was really just an opinion piece by Achal Prabhala and Chee Yoke Ling – an Indian public health activist and a Malaysian public interest lawyer.

It was NOT an actual article by any New York Times writer or correspondent. Neither was it endorsed by the New York Times.

Fact #2 : NYT Did Not Rank COVID-19 Vaccines

The opinion piece did NOT rank the COVID-19 vaccines, much less claim that the top 4 vaccines are from China.

In fact, it pointed out the conflicting trial results for the CoronaVac vaccine from Sinovac, and noted that “China’s and Russia’s self-serving propaganda campaigns touting their respective vaccines only increased wariness“.

Instead of praising Chinese vaccines as the safest in the world, the two writers were merely asking health authorities to “start trusting other countries’ vaccines“, because there is simply not enough vaccines from Western countries to supply the world.

Read more : Did New York Times Rank Chinese Vaccines As World Safest?

Fact #3 : The New York Times Refuted The Claim

On 10 March 2021, The New York Times published three tweets refuting the false claims.

We are aware of misinformation circulating on WhatsApp, which falsely ranks the safety of worldwide coronavirus vaccines and attributes this list to a report published by The New York Times.

This message is misleading and untrue. The New York Times did not publish this list, our reporting has not suggested that Chinese vaccines are superior to vaccines produced elsewhere, nor have we published claims that China has exported more than 500 million doses.

Our understanding of the effectiveness and safety of vaccines is published in The New York Times Coronavirus Vaccine Tracker. It is evolving, nuanced, and regularly updated to reflect current scientific evidence.

Fact #4 : Chinese Vaccines Have Efficacy Issues

On 24 June 2021, Chinese CDC deputy director Dr. Feng Zijian told the China Central Television that antibodies from two Chinese COVID-19 vaccines are “less effective” against the Delta variant, compared to other strains.

In that interview, he declined to name the two Chinese vaccines, but the Caixin Global report appears to confirm that they are the Sinovac CoronaVac and Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV vaccines.

Sinovac itself appears to be cognisant of this limitation, and have conducting clinical research on a booster dose of their own.

But it appears that the Chinese government is not going to wait, but will instead boost protection against the Delta variant using the Pfizer mRNA vaccine instead.

Read more : China To Offer mRNA Booster Dose For Sinovac + Sinopharm!

Fact #5 : Doses Ordered, Not Delivered

The post claimed that “China has exported more than 500 million doses of vaccines to more than 50 countries around the world, and it is estimated that hundreds of millions of people have been vaccinated.”

The truth is Chinese vaccine manufacturers received ORDERS for about 500 million doses of their vaccines from about 45 countries.

When that post first appeared in February 2021, China was actually a long way from delivering (exporting) those 500 million vaccine doses, and certainly hundreds of millions of people have NOT been vaccinated with Chinese COVID-19 vaccines at that time.

Even China only planned to vaccinate 50 million essential workers by mid-February – less than 4% of its population, even as it exports millions of doses overseas.

Fact #6 : China Purchased 100 Million Doses Of Pfizer Vaccine

Despite the claims of Chinese vaccine superiority and approving FOUR domestically developed and produced vaccines, China also ordered 100 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

As mentioned in Fact #4, the Chinese government is planning to boost protection against the Delta variant using the Pfizer mRNA vaccine, for people vaccinated with their Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines.

Read more : China To Offer mRNA Booster Dose For Sinovac + Sinopharm!

Fact #7 : Flying For Early Vaccines, Not Chinese Vaccines

While the fake post insinuates that wealthy people in Britain are flying to the UAE for superior Chinese vaccines, the truth is they were offered EARLY ACCESS to COVID-19 vaccines.

Knightsbridge Circle – a private concierge service – had been flying people since January 2021 to the UAE for the Pfizer vaccine, or India for the AstraZeneca vaccine.

In February 2021, they partnered with the UAE to offer the Sinopharm vaccine as a way to “bring tourism into the area”.

This is really about the rich cutting queue and getting early access to COVID-19 vaccines, and not about wealthy UK residents actually believing in the superiority of Chinese vaccines.

Fact #8 : Vaccine Side Effects Do Not Take 10-20 Years To Appear

It is utter nonsense to claim that vaccines can cause side effects 10-20 years later.

Vaccines are merely self-defence classes for our immune system – teaching it how to identify a microbe, so it can learn to make antibodies against it.

Like a self-defence class, a vaccine doesn’t stick around. That’s why sometimes a booster dose (like revision classes) is required.

Any side effects you may experience is your body’s natural reaction to what it believes is the actual virus – this is how the vaccine trains the body to defend itself.

These side effects occur in the first few days of getting the vaccine dose, and do not lay in wait for 10-20 years before appearing.

Should You Trust Vaccines Made In China?

Yes, if approved by the health authority of your country, you should trust vaccines made in China.

The Chinese vaccines may have lower efficacy than the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine, but they are still effective at preventing hospitalisations and death.

We need to stop obsessing over efficacy rates because most people don’t understand them.

What we really need to understand is that ALL approved COVID-19 vaccines have been proven to prevent severe or fatal COVID-19 disease.

Just take any approved COVID-19 vaccine, and you will be protected against moderate to severe COVID-19 disease that requires medical treatment.

KKM Requirements To Accompany Wife During Delivery!

Malaysia will now allow a fully-vaccinated husband to accompany his wife during delivery in all KKM hospitals!

Here are the official requirements!

Updated @ 2021-10-04 : Added official list of requirements by KKM.

Vaccinated Husband Can Accompany Wife During Delivery!

Ever since the Movement Control Order (MCO) was initiated in March of 2020, government hospitals stopped allowing husbands to accompany their wives in the labour rooms.

On 28 September 2021, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin responded to a request by a husband to be allowed to accompany his wife since he is already fully vaccinated.

He requested that the Director of Health Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah allow any fully-vaccinated husband to accompany his wife in the labour room, if he is fully-vaccinated, and undergo a COVID-19 test, with a negative test result.

The test is necessary even if the husband is fully-vaccinated is because he may still be infected with COVID-19, even if he is completely asymptomatic.

Requirements To Accompany Wife During Delivery!

On 30 September 2021, Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that the husband or a close family member can accompany the wife during her delivery at all public hospitals under KKM.

This initiative kicks off today – on 4 October 2021. However, the husband or close relative must comply with these requirements :

  • Be fully-vaccinated according to this definition :
    – More than 14 days after receiving both doses of the Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccine.
More than 28 days after receiving a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson or Cansino vaccine.
  • Undergo a COVID-19 screening test – either RT-PCR or RTK-Ag – at any health facility or private lab within 72 hours.
    – After testing, the husband / close relative must restrict their movements to avoid infection.
    – The test result must be brought to the hospital, before the husband / close relative can accompany the mother in the Delivery Ward.
  • Alternatively, the husband / close relative purchase a COVID-19 Self Test Kit approved by the Medical Devices Authority (MDA) and bring it to the hospital.
    – The husband / close relative will then use the COVID-19 Self Test Kit at the hospital screening area, while being observed and verified by the attending healthcare worker.

The husband and close relatives of the expectant mother are advised to strictly follow COVID-19 precautions, as pregnant mothers are a high-risk group.

AstraZeneca vs. Sinovac : Efficacy Against Gamma Variant

A large Brazil study just compared the efficacy of the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines against the Gamma variant of COVID-19!

Here is what you need to know!

SARS-CoV-2 Gamma Variant : What Is It?

The Gamma variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (P.1) is one of the four Variants of Concern (VOCs). It was first detected in Brazil in November 2020, but has since spread to more than 10 other countries.

As this BBC comparison shows – it is more similar to the Beta (UK) variant than the Delta (India) variant. It shares two of the mutations of concern with the Beta variant, but none with the Delta variant.

The Gamma variant is less transmissible than the Delta variant, but has greater resistance to vaccines.

Therefore, the results of this study is of great interest to scientists and doctors who are worried about the effectiveness of current vaccines, if the Gamma variant becomes more prevalent.

AstraZeneca vs. Sinovac : TLDR Summary

The Brazilian study looked at 60.5 million Brazilians who were vaccinated with either the AstraZeneca Vaxzevria vaccine, or the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine.

Here is our quick TLDR summary of their key findings :

AstraZeneca Vaxzevria

  • breakthrough infections were high for people who were partially-vaccinated
  • partially-vaccinated individuals had significant protection against hospitalisation, ICU admission and death
  • fully-vaccinated individuals had very good protection against hospitalisation, ICU admission and death
  • there was a big drop in vaccine effectiveness in people 90 years or older

Sinovac CoronaVac

  • breakthrough infections were high, whether people were partially- or fully-vaccinated
  • partially-vaccinated individuals had poor protection against hospitalisation, ICU admission and death
  • fully-vaccinated individuals had good protection against hospitalisation, ICU admission and death
  • there was a huge drop in vaccine effectiveness in people 90 years or older

Despite what Internet rumours may claim, the AstraZeneca vaccine is definitely superior to the Sinovac vaccine.

But the good news is – both vaccines offer good protection against the Gamma variant of COVID-19, with one caveat – only after individuals are fully-vaccinated.

Therefore, the key takeaway from this study is that it is critical to get FULLY-VACCINATED to obtain full protection against COVID-19!

AstraZeneca vs. Sinovac : Study Results Summarised

The Brazilian study was a retrospective study involving 60.5 million Brazilians from 18 January until 30 June 2021.

It compared the effectiveness of the AstraZeneca Vaxzevria and Sinovac CoronaVac vaccines in preventing :

  • COVID-19 infection,
  • hospitalisation,
  • ICU admission, and
  • death.

The study also noted that the Gamma variant was the most frequent variant in Brazil at the time it was conducted.

Partial Vaccination

The Brazilian team defined partial vaccination as 14 days or longer after receiving the first dose of a vaccine, but before receiving the second dose.

They found that partial vaccination with the AstraZeneca Vaxzevria vaccine offered significant protection against hospitalisation, ICU admission and death – about 50% better than unvaccinated people.

Partial vaccination with the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine offered far less protection than the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Partial Vaccination AstraZeneca Sinovac
Infection 34.0% 16.4%
Hospitalisation 52.2% 26.6%
ICU Admission 54.0% 28.1%
Death 49.3% 29.4%

Full Vaccination

The Brazilian team defined full vaccination as 14 days or longer after receiving the second dose of a vaccine.

They found that people fully-vaccinated with the AstraZeneca Vaxzevria vaccine had good protection against getting infected with COVID-19, and very good protection against hospitalisation, ICU admission and death.

Full vaccination with the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine offered significant protection against getting infected with COVID-19, and good protection against hospitalisation, ICU admission and death.

This shows the importance of being fully-vaccinated with either vaccine.

Full Vaccination AstraZeneca Sinovac
Infection 70.0% 54.2%
Hospitalisation 86.8% 72.6%
ICU Admission 88.1% 74.2%
Death 90.2% 74.0%

People 90 Years Or Older

The Brazilian team also identified a big drop in vaccine effectiveness in people who are 90 years or older.

This is a bigger problem for the Sinovac CoronaVac, which offers only 35% protection against death for this age group; and less so for the AstraZeneca Vaxzevria, which offers twice that (70%).

Because of this big drop in vaccine effectiveness, the study authors are recommending a booster dose for this age group.

AstraZeneca vs. Sinovac : Authors’ Conclusions

You can read the entire preprint paper, Effectiveness of Vaxzevria and CoronaVac vaccines in Brazil, by Cerqueira-Silva et. al.

Here are the conclusions by the study authors :

Both vaccines demonstrated overall effectiveness against severe COVID-19 up to 80 years of age. Our results suggest that individuals aged 90 years or older may benefit from an expedited third booster dose. Ongoing evaluations, including any additional vaccines authorized, are crucial to monitoring long-term vaccine effectiveness.

KKM Did Not Warn That Vaccine Reduces Immunity?

Did KKM fail to warn people that the COVID-19 vaccine reduces immunity, letting them fall sick or dying?

Take a look at the latest viral warning, and find out what the FACTS really are!

Claim : KKM Should Warn That Vaccine Reduces Immunity

This viral message is being shared on WhatsApp, warning that KKM should warn people that the COVID-19 vaccine reduces their body’s immune system for 46 days, putting them at risk of falling sick or dying!

It’s a very long message, so skip to the next section for the facts…

KKM gives No clear guidance to people receiving the vaccines. So, this is very vital info for staying alive after the jab!
🟥🟨🟥

All who are vaccinated MUST READ!

To the editors-in-chief of Sin Chew Daily, China Daily and Oriental Daily:

Lately, many who are vaccinated have also contracted Covid-19 and died, among whom are middle-aged and elderly. According to report received, the dead were infected within one and a half months after the vaccination! 🟨🟥

I know that when we are vaccinated, our immunity becomes lower than before. Therefore, the chance of contracting Covid-19 is higher. However, most people lack this knowledge. After being vaccinated, they think they don’t need to wear masks, wash hands or disinfect. They would go to the market and walk around. As a result, they fall sick!

Truth : COVID-19 Vaccine Does NOT Reduce Immunity!

Like 95% of viral messages on COVID-19 – this is yet another piece of FAKE NEWS based on some facts.

Let me go through the claims and share with you what the FACTS really are. Please share this with your family and friends!

Fact #1 : COVID-19 Vaccine Does NOT Reduce Immunity

Let me be very clear – the COVID-19 vaccine does NOT reduce immunity.

The COVID-19 vaccine is nothing more than a self-defence class for your immune system, teaching it how to fight against the real SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Will learning self-defence in real life make you a weaker person? Of course, not!

The COVID-19 vaccine does not reduce your natural immunity one bit, not even for one day.

As your immune system learns to make antibodies against these antigens, it grows stronger, not weaker, against COVID-19.

Fact #2 : Side Effects Are Signs Of Immune Response

Just like how you sweat and get muscle ache in a self-defence class, you may feel a little sick after your vaccination.

That is not evidence that the COVID-19 vaccine has reduced your body’s immunity. That is your body’s natural reaction when your immune system gets triggered by the vaccine.

The fever that you may get, for example, is a way for your body to boost its immune response. So when you get a fever, your body actually produces a more robust immune response, not weaker.

Fact #3 : Full Immunity Takes Time

It is true that maximum immunity takes time – often two weeks after the second dose is taken (for a 2-dose vaccine).

The second dose is designed to kick the immune system into high gear, basically telling it – “Warning, this is not a one-time attack! COVID-19 can come again!

This not only triggers the immune system to create more antibodies, it also activates your memory cells to “remember” SARS-COV-2 for faster recognition and antibody production in the future.

That is why it is important to complete both doses of a 2-dose vaccine, and continue to practice COVID-19 precautions until your body has enough time to build its defences.

Fact #4 : It Does Not Take 3 Months To Improve Immunity

Dr. Zhong Nanshan – China’s top respiratory disease physician – never claimed that it will take up to 3 months to build the body’s immunity after COVID-19 vaccination.

On 1 April 2021, he told Hong Kong’s Phoenix TV that COVID-19 vaccines using the inactivated virus technology – like Sinovac and Sinopharm – usually takes 40 days to trigger enough antibodies to prevent infection.

Not only is 40 days not 3 months, his comments were regarding inactivate virus vaccines, not mRNA vaccines like Pfizer or Moderna, or viral vector vaccines like AstraZeneca.

Fact #5 : You Can Get Infected After Vaccination

It is true that you can get infected with COVID-19 even after completing your vaccination. However, that is not because COVID-19 vaccines reduce your immunity.

These vaccine breakthrough infections are expected, because vaccines cannot guarantee complete protection.

Even the best COVID-19 vaccines – from Pfizer and Moderna – can only prevent 94%-95% of COVID-19 infections. That means 5% of those who are fully vaccinated using these vaccines could still get infected.

That does not mean vaccines are useless. COVID-19 vaccines are not meant to prevent all infections. They are meant to prevent SEVERE DISEASE and DEATH!

If you get infected with COVID-19 after vaccination, you will likely get a mild disease, or it may even be asymptomatic!

Read more : Why Delta Variant Causes MORE Breakthrough Infections!

Fact #6 : We Must Maintain COVID-19 Precautions After Vaccination

Vaccine breakthrough infections can be greatly reduced once herd immunity is established.

In addition, vaccinated people who get mild or asymptomatic COVID-19 infections can still spread COVID-19 to other people.

So we must CONTINUE to take COVID-19 precautions, even after we are fully vaccinated.

This will help protect both the unvaccinated from getting infected, and the vaccinated from breakthrough infections.

You Can Now Record Video Of Your COVID-19 Vaccination!

Let there be no more doubt – you now have the right to record a video of your own COVID-19 vaccination!

Here is the latest update on vaccine underdose / empty vaccination, and your right to record a video!

Why Record Video Of Your COVID-19 Vaccination?

Recently, there has been a spate of complaints about vaccine underdose or even empty vaccinations!

Some may be misunderstandings (reading LDV syringes wrongly, for example) or even fake news, several have been confirmed to be true.

Recommended : Vaccine Underdose : What Should You Watch Out For?

You Can Now Record Video Of Your COVID-19 Vaccination!

On 23 July 2021, National Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, announced that you are ALLOWED to record a video of your own COVID-19 vaccination.

This is on top of the existing SOP to show you that the syringe contains the correct volume of vaccine, before it is injected.

You have my permission, and also permission from the Health Minister himself, in case there was orders not to allow (you to record a video). Now, vaccine recipients can record a video of their vaccine injections.

Go and film yourselves, and take a video of your vaccination, so you have hard proof, and we also have hard proof, that you received the proper dosage for your vaccination.

Don’t Just Record A Video During Your COVID-19 Vaccination

To avoid accidentally getting a partial dose of the vaccine or none at all, please make sure you follow these steps at the vaccination centre :

  1. Check the label of the vial or prepared syringe, to confirm the vaccine you are receiving. Here in Malaysia, that’s Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Sinovac.
  2. The doctor or nurse will show you the syringe, for you to verify that it has the correct volume.
Vaccines Dose Volume
Pfizer COMIRNATY 0.3 ml
AstraZeneca Vaxzevria 0.5 ml
Sinovac CoronaVac 0.5 ml

Please note that if a low dead volume (LDV) syringe is used, you should read the volume from the first ring of the plunger, not the top.

Recommended : How To Read The Volume Of LDV Syringe Correctly?

  1. Film a video of the vaccination process, taking care to record the injection itself.
  2. After receiving the injection, the doctor or nurse will show you the syringe, for you to confirm that it is empty.
  3. Before leaving the vaccination booth, go through the video to confirm that you received the dose.

If there is any discrepancy, you can address it with the doctor or nurse, or ask to see a supervisor.

If you have evidence that you received an empty injection, or a partial vaccine dose, but only noticed that after leaving the vaccination centre, do not worry.

Here in Malaysia, you can reach out to the ProtectHealth Corporation – a private entity created by Malaysia Health Ministry to manage the national COVID-19 vaccination programme.

  • Telephone : 03-8687-2525 / 2588
  • Email : vaksincovid@protecthealth.com.my

They will promptly address the issue – either giving you a top-up dose, or a new vaccine dose.
