Dell just introduced the UltraSharp Webcam (WB7022) for the new Work From Home normal!
Here is what you need to know about the new Dell WB7022 UltraSharp Webcam!
Dell UltraSharp Webcam (WB7022) : All You Need To Know!
More than 18 months into the COVID-19 pandemic, the Work From Home (WFH) normal appears to be here to stay, at least for now.
To ensure that those who need to remotely work have the best possible video conferencing webcam, Dell just introduced the UltraSharp Webcam.
With nine patent-pending technologies, the Dell UltraSharp Webcam offers 4K image quality, built-in AI tracking and other video conferencing features.
4K Webcam With World’s Best Image Quality
Dell claims that the UltraSharp Webcam offers the world’s best image quality, courtesy of the large 4K Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor and the multi-element lens that captures more light to deliver “crystal-clear video”.
It supports frame rates of 24 and 30 fps at the full 4K UHD resolution. It also supports the higher 60 fps frame rate, at the lower 1080p and 720p resolutions.
It’s not just about the hardware. It’s also about the software embedded into the UltraSharp Webcam.
Its Digital Overlap HDR capability lets the Dell UltraSharp Webcam preserve true-to-life colours and balance exposure.
Meanwhile, its 2D/3D video noise reduction capability eliminates grainy images, making you look good even in low light conditions.
AI Auto-Framing
The Dell UltraSharp Webcam has AI Auto-Framing capability built-in. This feature uses Artificial Intelligence to keep you focused and centred in the frame.
You don’t have to manually adjust the webcam. It will track your movements and shift the frame to keep you centered, even if you stand up!
5X Digital Zoom + Three Fields of View
The Dell UltraSharp Webcam supports up to 5X digital zoom, as well as three fields of view – 65°, 78° and 90°.
This allows you to fit multiple people in the same conference call, or focus exclusively on you in a crowded place.
Smart Security Features
The Dell UltraSharp Webcam supports Windows Hello, allowing you to sign-in quickly and securely usual facial recognition.
It also has Dell ExpressSign-in capability built-in, allowing Dell PCs to detect your presence as you approach and automatically log you out when you step away, offering you an extra level of security.
Finally, it comes with a magnetic privacy cover that securely snaps onto the lens, or the back of the webcam.
Webcam Mounting Solutions
The Dell UltraSharp Webcam comes with two mounts in the box :
a magnetic mount
a tripod adaptor
The magnetic mount makes it easy to attach to the top of any desktop or laptop monitor, without obscuring the display.
And if you need to mount it on a tripod, simply slide the webcam off the magnetic mount and slide it into the tripod adaptor!

XPS 13 9300 Quick Start Guide + Safety and Regulatory Information
Dell XPS 13 (9300) : Hands-On Experience!
This Dell XPS 13 (9300) is an eminently thin and light laptop. It offers a 13.4-inch display in an 11-inch form factor that weighs only 1.27 kg, and is less than 15 mm thick.
It easily fits into the smallest laptop bag, and even a large handbag. And when you can fly again, you will love how it fits onto the airplane’s seat tray!
Once you try it out, you will find it hard to go back to regular laptops – you will find them heavy and unwieldy!

Dell XPS 13 (9300) : A Closer Look!
13.4-inch Display In 11-Inch Form Factor
This Dell XPS 13 (9300) model comes with a 4K UHD+ touch display, with a resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixel, a colour gamut of 90% DCI-P3 and DisplayHDR 400 certification.
The incredibly high resolution and wide colour gamut allow your high resolution photos and HDR content to really pop.
Dell also offers a Full HD+ display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and 100% sRGB colour gamut; in both touch and non-touch options.
All three display options are 25% brighter at 500 nits, and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 against scratches and impact.
Cameras + Security
The thin bezel at the top conceals two cameras – a regular 720p webcam, and an infra-red camera for facial recognition.
So you can either unlock the XPS 13 using the IR camera and Windows Hello, or the fingerprint sensor, which integrated into the power button.
While its 720p webcam may be rather low in resolution, it uses a new 4-element lens for sharper image quality. It also supports temporal noise reduction to improve video quality in low-light conditions.
We hope that Dell would look at upgrading it to a 1080p camera, with a physical or electronics privacy shutter.
Performance
Our Dell XPS 13 (9300) is powered by the Intel Core i7-1065G7 – a 4-core, 8-thread processor with 8 MB of cache and built-in Iris Plus Graphics.
You can opt for a Core i5-1035G1 or the Core i3-1005G1, both of which come with integrated UHD Graphics.
A redesigned cooler keeps things cool, using a single heat pipe and evaporator design with dual condensers and GORE thermal insulation. The hot air is exhausted through the hinge at the back.
It can get a little toasty from the hot exhaust when you use it on your lap, especially if you’re doing compute-intensive tasks like rendering videos.
It also comes with 16 GB of dual-channel LPDDR4X memory running at 3733 MHz. The memory is soldered onto the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.
Our unit came with a 1 TB SK hynix PC611 PCIe NVMe SSD, but you can opt for a smaller 512 GB SSD, or a larger 2 TB SSD.
Ports
Due to its ultra-slim profile – 14.8 mm at its thickest point, the XPS 13 has very limited ports.
On the left side, you will find a microSD card reader; as well as a single Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type C) port, which supports Power Delivery and DisplayPort output
On the right side, you will find a 3.5 mm microphone and headphone combo port, with a second Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type C) port, which also supports Power Delivery and DisplayPort output.
You can plug the USB Type C charging cable into either Thunderbolt 3 port. But unless you are using it on-the-go, you really only have one free port to use.
The good news is Dell actually bundles the XPS 13 (9300) with a free USB Type C to USB Type A dongle, so you can use your USB Type A drives and devices (including cables) with it.
Keyboard + Touchpad
The Dell XPS (9300) comes an edge-to-edge keyboard, and a 17% larger touchpad for maximum working comfort. The keyboard is backlit, and comes with larger key caps!
It definitely offers a far superior typing experience to the horrible butterfly switch keyboard used in Apple MacBook Pro laptops.
[twenty20 img1=”43631″ img2=”43632″ offset=”0.5″]
Connectivity
Our XPS 13 (9300) comes with the Killer AX1650 module, which offers Wi-Fi 6 connectivity with 2×2 antennas, and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
It is much too thin to support a LAN port, but you can add LAN connectivity using a USB-C dongle.
The two long stripes on both sides of the XPS 13 are not cooling vents, but ports for its 2.5 watt stereo speakers, which are tuned with Waves MaxxAudio Pro.
Its 3.5 mm microphone / headphone combo jack is also optimised with the 360-degree Waves NX 3D virtual surround sound with head tracking.
Finally, its dual microphone array is powered by Waves MaxxVoice Pro, which supports VOIP and is Cortana Farfield-capable.

Dell XPS 13 (9300) : Performance
Our Dell XPS 13 (9300) is powered by the 15-watt Intel Core i7-1065G7 (Ice Lake) with 4 cores and 8 threads, and Iris Plus Graphics with 64 Execution Units.
It comes with 8 MB of cache, and has a 1.3 GHz base frequency that ramps up to 3.5 GHz during intensive tasks.
Our review sample came with 16 GB LPDDR4X-3733 dual-channel memory, and a 1 TB SK hynix PC611 PCIe NVMe SSD.
Work Performance : PCMark 10
The Intel Core i7-1065G7 is a 25 watt processor that can be configured to run at a lower TDP of 15 watt – to improve battery life and reduce thermal output.
At the full 25 watt TDP, it should deliver PCMark 10 scores in excess of 4700. It is obvious now that Dell configured it for the cooler 15 watt TDP. This is why benchmarks are important.
The integrated Intel Iris Plus Graphics sounds powerful on paper – with 64 Execution Units – but it is only about as fast as the NVIDIA GeForce MX130 / GeForce 940MX.
So this is most definitely NOT a gaming laptop, although you should have no problem playing older games and games that are not 3D graphics-intensive like DOTA 2.
Battery Life : YouTube + Modern Office
The Dell XPS 13 (9300) comes with a 4-cell smart lithium-ion battery that is rated for 52 Whr.
Dell claims a battery life of up to 18 hours and 49 minutes with the Full HD+ display, and up to 12 hours and 13 minutes with the 4K UHD+ display.
In our general use, we have no problem working a full day on it without recharging, which makes it really convenient when travelling.
That said, we locked the brightness at 50% – higher than the average of 40% – to see how it performs in these worst-case scenarios :
YouTube Streaming
The Dell XPS 13 (9300) lasted 8 hours 15 minutes streaming YouTube videos in theatre mode using WiFi, before its battery dropped to 10%.
PCMark 10 : Modern Office
The Dell XPS 13 (9300) lasted 6 hours 36 minutes before it powered off while running the Modern Office benchmark.
Battery : Recharging Speed
Its 65 watt fast charger took about 52.5 minutes to hit the mid-point (55%), but 2 hours 23.5 minutes to fully recharge its battery from 10%.
Here are the times it takes to recharge from 10% :
15% – 5 minutes 57 seconds
20% – 11 minutes 53 seconds
25% – 17 minutes 45 seconds
30% – 23 minutes 22 seconds
35% – 29 minutes 25 seconds
40% – 35 minutes 8 seconds
45% – 41 minutes 22 seconds
50% – 46 minutes 56 seconds
55% – 52 minutes 39 seconds
60% – 58 minutes 27 seconds
65% – 64 minutes 13 seconds
70% – 70 minutes 15 seconds
75% – 76 minutes
80% – 81 minutes 58 seconds
85% – 89 minutes 41 seconds
90% – 100 minutes 50 seconds
95% – 118 minutes 45 seconds
100% – 143 minutes 20 seconds
This gives it a battery life : recharging time ratio of 3.45 : 1 for video streaming, and 2.76 : 1 for office work.
As a rule of thumb, you will need to recharge its battery about 22 minutes for every hour of battery life.
Dell XPS 13 (9300) : Verdict + Award
The Dell XPS 13 (9300) is a really great ultra-light laptop for people who are always on-the-go.
It packs serious processing power, memory and a huge SSD with the latest wireless connectivity built-in, in a very thin and light package.
It is less than 15 mm at its thickest point, and weighs less than 1.3 kg. But this is something you have to hold in your hand to actually get a feel of how much engineering went into the XPS 13.
Even the latest 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro, powered by the new Apple M1 SoC, is larger, thicker at 15.6 mm and weighs more at 1.4 kg!
The extremely thin profile offers some challenges to first time users – limited physical ports. Yet the XPS 13 (9300) managed to squeeze in an extra microSD card reader over the new 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1).
Even so, you will have to live with just two USB Type C ports – one of which is not available when you recharge its battery. Fortunately, the XPS 13 (9300) comes with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless connectivity.
Thankfully, Dell threw in a free USB-C to USB-A dongle, so at least you have ready access to your USB Type A drives and devices out-of-the-box.
Security-conscious users will love the fingerprint sensor and IR camera, which allows for easy and secure logins. However, the webcam lacks a physical shutter, and the lid clearance is too tight to safely use a third-party shutter.
As far as battery life is concerned, the XPS 13 (9300) will last more than full day’s work without recharging. After a while, you will get used to leaving the office without the charger!
All-in-all, the Dell XPS 13 (9300) is an engineering marvel that must be experienced to truly understand. If you want the very best Windows 10 ultra-light laptop money can buy, this should be right at the top of the list.
That is why we wholeheartedly award it our Reviewer’s Choice Award!

Object-based Super Resolution
Object-based Super Resolution technology detects individual objects in a picture and individually enhance their resolution to add or preserve detail.
Object-based HDR Remaster
Object-based HDR Remaster analyses the colour of individual objects and dynamically adjusts the contrast. This is superior to the usual method of adjusting along a black-to-white contrast curve.
Super Bit Mapping HDR
Super Bit Mapping HDR reveals brings out the gradations of the light in a picture, creating a smooth, natural image without the “banding” that can occur in other TVs.
Dual Database Processing
The Sony BRAVIA A9G has two image improvement databases, with thousands of references. One database is used to clean the picture and reduce on-screen noise. The other database is used to upscale the resolution to improve clarity.

Samsung revealed the 2018 QLED TV range in March 2018, promising unrivalled viewing experience without distractions. They recently invited us to a refresher briefing on the 2018 QLED TV range, and their year-end price and promotions. Here are the full details!
The 2018 QLED TV Media Briefing
Vincent Lee, Head of AV TV, Samsung Consumer Electronics, explains the key features of the 2018 QLED TV series.
Q Picture : Purest Pictures Without Distractions
To create even more stunning picture quality with pristine contrast, the TVs feature the new Direct Full Array which uses a panel with zones of smartly controlled backlighting that adjust automatically to deliver deep blacks and pure whites. This reduces blooming and halo effects and enables deeper contrast, with inky blacks and brilliant whites.
Advanced Anti-reflection technology ensures that the TVs’ spectacular picture quality can be enjoyed from almost any angle, and also helps boost contrast. Aligned with the new products, which include models wider than 55 inches, Q Engine technology automatically upscales on-screen content to UHD levels to further enhance viewers’ immersion.
Q Style: Spend Time Watching, Not Searching
[adrotate group=”2″]
Samsung’s 2018 QLED TVs’ style changes based on innovative technologies are also noticeable. Magic Screen is an energy-saving function that allows the TV to elegantly display images as well as real-time information such as the weather or news. For wall-mounted TVs,
Magic Screen can mimic the pattern on the wall behind the TV to create an astonishing visual effect in which the TV blends seamlessly into the wall.
Samsung has also introduced a simple solution to eliminate cable clutter, called the One Invisible Connection, which integrates power cables and data lines that were previously separated to allow the TVs to harmonise with their surrounding aesthetic. Available up to 15 meters, it frees consumers from having to place their TV near data or power outlets.
Q Smart: Value Beyond Investment
The new QLED TVs are designed to seamlessly connect with SmartThings-compatible devices to offer users even greater control over their home’s smart technology. In addition, users can access a variety of apps on the QLED TVs that they can enjoy at any time through one intuitive menu.
The 2018 QLED TV Year-End Price + Promotion
Vincent runs through the 2018 QLED TV range, including their year-end prices and promotions.

The BenQ TK800 Up Close!
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) is a compact projector that weighs just 4.2 kg. Its powerful 240 watt lamp allows it to create 4K HDR displays at up to 200″ in size at 3,000 lumens!
Its DLP projection system is built around a single DMD chip and a new 4-segment colour wheel that delivers 30-bit colour resolution, with a wide colour gamut of over 92% of Rec. 709!
The TK800 comes with a plethora of connectivity options – all the way from the good old VGA port to the latest HDMI 2.0 port (with HDCP 2.2).

4K Lens System
The BenQ TK800 features an optical system designed for 4K projection.
The lens array consists of four groups of 7 lens elements, with low-dispersion coatings to minimise chromatic aberrations.
This 4K lens system provides up to 1.2X optical zoom, with wide apertures of f/1.94 to f/2.06.
The zoom function allows you to, for example, project a 100″ image from a distance of 3.25 m to 3.9 m away.
At its widest, the TK800 lens array will provide clear focus between 1.95 m and 6.51 m away. if you dial the zoom up to 1.2X, it will provide clear focus between 2.34 m and 7.81 m away.
4K UHD Resolution
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) is built around the 0.47″ single DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) chip from Texas Instruments.
There are over 2 million microscopic mirrors on this chip – each representing a pixel.
This DMD chip has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080, so how does the TK800 project a 4K UHD display with 4X as many pixels? That’s where the XPR Technology comes in.
XPR Technology
What XPR does is “wriggle” the projection lens in a circular fashion at 240 Hz, so that each micromirror creates four projected pixels, instead of just one pixel.
This effectively quadruples the DMD chip’s native resolution of 1920 x 1080 into a projected image of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
XPR allows the TK800 to deliver true 4K resolution with almost 8.3 million pixels, making the projected image appear much sharper, especially in larger projections.
However, because they were generated from a DMD chip with 1920 x 1080 independent pixels, expect aliasing artifacts.
While a true 4K DMD chip with 8.3 million micro mirrors would deliver the best possible 4K projection quality, that is many more years in the making and would be prohibitively expensive.
4K Scaling
The single DMD chip the BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) uses has just over 2 million micro mirrors, which gives it a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
This means that all 4K content will be downsampled to 1080p, and processed for 4K output by the DMD chip. The projected image is then quadrupled by XPR to the 4K resolution.
The actual image is not a true 4K output of a proper 4K DMD chip, but it’s far better than a 1080p projection. The image processing ensures that final image is perceptively close to the actual 4K image.
The good news is – XPR will also upscale your 1080p content to the 4K display resolution, giving you a perceptively sharper and more detailed image than is possible with a 1080p projector.

HDR With Wide Colour Gamut
DLP projectors can deliver wide colour gamuts, allowing the displayed colours to be more vivid, and more accurately reflect real world colours.
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) comes with a new 4-segment RGBW colour wheel which allows it to achieve 92% of the Rec. 709 colour space.
As a HDR-capable projector, the BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) supports HDR10 content, which are enhanced with their exclusive Auto HDR Natural Colour Rendition and Projector-Optimized HDR technologies.
Auto HDR Natural Colour Rendition automatically analyses the scene and adjusts the colour temperature, and compensates for oversaturated greens and reds.
Projector-Optimized HDR, on the other hand, enhances dark details by preserving details and displaying the grayscales properly.
This is probably a combination of a light dump for the micromirrors, and the DMD chip’s ability to produce 10-bits of greyscale (1024 shades).
Do note that you should use HDMI 2.0a/b cables if you plan to display HDR content. Only HDMI 2.0a/b cables are certified for 4K video at 60 Hz with HDR.
Football + Sport Modes
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) is a home entertainment model that adds two new display modes – Football and Sport.
The Football Mode preserves natural skin tones, intensifies the vibrant colours of the lush green grass on the pitch while simultaneously enhancing the clarity of the announcer’s commentary over the loud background noise of a cheering crowd in an open-air stadium.
Sport Mode is ideal for indoor sports and prioritises realistic skin tones, enhancing wood tones as well as offering vivid reds combined with balanced green and blues.
The acoustic clarity of a sports commentator’s voice and other subtle details such as squeaking sneakers, referee whistles, and ice scraping under skates are retained and enhanced.
BenQ CinemaMaster Audio+ 2
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) features their improved CinemaMaster Audio+ 2 technology.
It uses a single 5 W speaker, with an aluminium driver diaphragm for better details in the mid and high frequencies, while a resonance chamber provides a more resonant bass.
The speaker also uses heat-resistant NdFeB magnets for a longer lifespan, and less distortion.
If you like our work, you can help support our work by visiting our sponsors, participating in the Tech ARP Forums, or even donating to our fund. Any help you can render is greatly appreciated!
BenQ TK800 Control Options
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) has simple controls located on the top panel.
It consists of a Power button, arrow keys (that double as keystone and volume control keys), and other OSD function keys.
For more elaborate functions, you can use the BenQ RCV015 remote control.
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) projector has two IR receivers for this remote control – one located at the top, next to the controls, and the other is in front, next to the lens.
BenQ TK800 Adjustment Options
To keep the BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) level on uneven surfaces, it comes with three adjustment feet, all with rubber soles.
The front adjustment foot has a quick release button with four locking steps. The two rear adjustment feet are of the screw type, which allows for finer adjustments independently.
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) also comes with easy keystone correction. Just use the vertical keystone correction function to quickly align the projected image.
This is very useful if you plan to use the TK800 (which is portable) at different locations.
BenQ TK800 Connectivity Options
The BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) comes with a plethora of connectivity options, all discreetly hidden at the rear panel.
From left to right, you will find the following ports :
3-pin 12 V power port
3.5 mm audio-in port
3.5 mm audio-out port
15-pin VGA port
HDMI 1 – HDMI 2.0a (with HDCP 2.2)
HDMI 2 – HDMI 1.4 (with HDCP 1.4)
mini-B USB 2.0 port
Type A USB 2.0 port (with 1.5 A power output)
12 V trigger port
Kensington lock slot
Please note that while there are two HDMI ports, only HDMI 1 supports HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 2.2. You should always connect your Blu-ray player, or other sources of 4K content to HDMI 1.
You should also use a HDMI 2.0a/b cable that is certified to support 4K video at 60 Hz with HDR.
The BenQ TK800 In Action!
We set-up the BenQ TK800 (MY|SG|US|UK|AU) in a moderately dim room, to create an image of about 80-inches in size in a small condo
4K HDR Video – Insects
We made the hall darker in this test, so you can better assess the contrast ratio (rated at 10:000:1), and the colour gamut (rated at > 92% Rec. 709).
You can’t see it in the video, but you have to go very close to the wall to make out the individual pixels. The image may have been pixel-quadrupled from 1080p, but it is perceptually indiscernible from a true 4K image.
Note too how loud and rich its single 5 W speaker sounds. BenQ delivers on the promise promise of better details and resonant bass with its aluminium driver diaphragm and resonance chamber.
4K HDR Video – Scenery
In this test, we let more ambient light in, to simulate the usual daytime viewing with the (non-blackout) curtains drawn.
The 3000 lumens Philips bulb did a great job of delivering more than adequate brightness to tackle the ambient light coming in from the curtains on the right.
Note how vivid the images are. That’s thanks to its 4-segment RGBW colour wheel which allows it to deliver a HDR image with true white.
It also allows the TK800 to deliver a wider colour gamut in excess of 92% of the Rec. 709 colour space.
On the audio side, note the fan noise just before the test begins. It is quite audible when nothing is running, but once you start the video, the 5 watt speaker is so powerful, it completely drowns out the fan noise.

BenQ TK800 : Our Verdict + Award
The BenQ TK800 (Price Check) is a truly impressive 4K HDR projector.
There may be brighter 4K projectors (like the 3500-lumen ViewSonic PX747-4K), but it is one of the few to offer a 4-segment colour wheel to deliver true white for a vivid HDR viewing experience, and a wide colour gamut of 92% of the Rec. 709 colour space.
This allows the TK800. to stand out amongst the crowded field of affordable 4K projectors designed to provide a cinema-like experience.
Now, it does not offer a true dot-for-dot 4K resolution like a proper 4K LCD TV would, but it delivers 4K images that are perceptually indistinguishable from true 4K images. And it gives you a much larger display size at a fraction of the cost.
DLP projection technology also eliminates a pesky problem with LCD TV technology – glare from ambient light sources. Its main problem of washed-out colours in bright ambient light is largely eliminated by the much higher 3000-lumen brightness in the BenQ TK800 (Price Check) – 36% brighter than its predecessor, the BenQ W1700 / TH2550!
It also impressed us with its audio capabilities. Powered only by a single 5 watt speaker, it delivered a surprisingly loud and rich soundscape.
For these reasons, we believe the BenQ TK800 (Price Check) deserves our Reviewer’s Choice Award! Congratulations, BenQ!

This gives the Mavic 2 Pro an impressive 14 stops of dynamic range, and Mavic 2 Zoom up to 13 stops.
New Intelligent Tools For Cinematic Shots
The Mavic 2 offers new intelligent flight modes for almost effortless professional-quality results. Hyperlapse produces shots that show the passing of time. You can also choose between Circle, Course Lock, Waypoint or Free mode to create timelapses with a simple tap of a button in the DJI GO 4 Mobile App:
Free – pilots the drone manually while shooting a Hyperlapse video.
Circle – automatically flies the drone in a circular pattern around a subject you select to create a timelapse video that captures the action.
Course Lock – keeps the camera fixed on shooting subject while the drone flies in a straight direction to create a unique perspective.
Waypoint – plans a complex flight path based on both altitude and GPS coordinates to capture complex shots.
ActiveTrack 2.0 offers a combination of autonomous tracking and obstacle sensing capabilities never before seen in a DJI drone. Using the main camera and the front dual vision cameras, the Mavic 2 creates a three-dimensional map of the area in front of it, and uses new trajectory algorithms to analyze motion and predict the subject’s path up to three seconds in the future.
When tracking a target, the Mavic 2 can recognize and avoid obstacles while shooting your target without interruption. It can stay on target, even if your subject momentarily goes behind an obstacle, and can track the subject at higher speeds of up to 44 mph (72 km/h).
Safer, Smarter and Stable Flight
The Mavic 2 has an upgraded FlightAutonomy system with a more powerful central processor that delivers more accurate obstacle sensing and safer flight. For the first time ever in a DJI drone, Mavic 2 has 10 sensors on all sides of the aircraft to automatically detect obstacles in its path and help prevent collisions
An improved Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) allows the aircraft to analyze its surrounding environment and automatically fly around obstacles without stopping. In addition, the Mavic 2 has a Bottom Auxiliary Light that turns on automatically to ensure safe and precise landings in low-light situations.
A newly designed OcuSync 2.0 video transmission system enables a more stable connection between the drone and its remote controller. The system features stronger interference resistance and auto-switching capabilities that supports both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz frequency bands with the capability to use different frequencies for uplink and downlink data streams.
It delivers 1080p video transmission feeds at a distance of up to 8 km, and original resolution photos in JPEG can be saved directly to your mobile device.
Aerodynamic Design and Extended Flight Time
The new redesigned and more aerodynamic airframe reduces body drag by up to 19% compared to the Mavic Pro, allowing the Mavic 2 to fly at speeds of up to 44 mph (72 km/h) in Sport mode.
Combined with a more efficient, quieter propulsion system and noise reducing propellers, both models have a maximum flight time of up to 31 minutes.
To ensure crisp photos and smooth, shake-free footage, the Mavic 2 houses an ultra-precise three-axis mechanical gimbal to stabilize its camera even during high-speed motion. Photos and videos can be saved directly to the drone using its 8 GB onboard storage. All DJI users have control over how their data is stored and managed, as part of DJI’s commitment to protecting its customers’ data.
A redesigned remote controller features detachable control sticks for ease of storage and portability. Both models are compatible with DJI Goggles with the gimbal (yaw) control range up to -75°¬– +75° in Head Tracking mode, offering users a more immersive FPV flight experience.

Sony today announced the new Sony A9F MASTER Series 4K HDR OLED TV. Let’s take a look at their product briefing, and a quick tour of the 65-inch and 55-inch Sony A9F MASTER Series models!
The Sony A9F MASTER Series
The Sony A9F is part of the MASTER Series – a title Sony reserves exclusively for its highest picture quality TV models. Sony claims the MASTER Series provides picture quality approaching that of a professional-grade monitor in a motion picture production studio.
Having developed and followed a very strict set of product evaluation criteria by its most experienced picture quality engineers, Sony is confident that their flagship MASTER Series will deliver the highest quality picture possible in a home setting.
Picture Processor X1 Ultimate
The Sony A9F MASTER Series models come equipped with a newly-developed, next-generation Picture Processor X1 Ultimate. This processor can intelligently detect and analyse each object in the picture through Sony’s new Object-based Super Resolution for exceptional accuracy and detail.
The Object-based HDR remaster has also been updated, and now allows each object to be remastered individually for better depth, accurate texture and all-in-all more realistic picture.
Netflix-Calibrated Mode
In conjunction with Netflix, Sony is now introducing Netflix Calibrated Mode. This unique feature was specially developed to mirror the same picture quality as a studio evaluation master for television in order to preserve the artists’ creative vision and intent.
By accessing one simple menu setting, Netflix Calibrated Mode faithfully reproduces the visuals that help bring a story to life, and entertainment enthusiasts can now enjoy this experience when watching their favorite TV series, films, documentaries and more on Netflix.
CalMAN-Ready
The Sony A9F MASTER Series is ready for CalMAN, the industry-leading display calibration software from Portrait Displays. CalMAN is widely used by professionals as a tool to ensure quality control of the strict requirements demanded by content creators in broadcast, production, and post-production.
This features the CalMAN calibration software to be installed on a PC, a pattern generator, a colorimeter or spectrophotometer, and the CalMAN for BRAVIA app installed. But using it eliminates the struggle of maintaining the picture quality throughout the life of the TV.
Pixel Contrast Booster
The Sony A9F MASTER Series TV comes with the Pixel Contrast Booster, which is Sony’s original panel controller for OLED. It maximises the dynamic range by widening the area of color reproduction at high brightness. Pictures are enhanced with extra detail and texture.
Acoustic Surface Audio+
The Sony A9F TV boasts the new Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology.
[adrotate group=”2″]
Acoustic Surface was first introduced last year with the Sony A1 series followed by the Sony A8F this year. The improved Acoustic Surface Audio+ gets an additional actuator in the center of the screen and an extra subwoofer channel, which delivers a 3.2 channel sound system.
The additional center actuator acts just like center speakers hidden behind an AT (acoustically transparent) screen which are found in movie theaters. With the three actuators and two subwoofers facing sideways, the Sony A9F creates a rich sound field that greatly enhances the viewing experience.
The Sony A9F asp has a TV Center Speaker Mode that allows the Acoustic Surface Audio+ to be used as the center speaker of a home theater system.

On January 8, 2018 at CES 2018, NVIDIA introduced what they call the NVIDIA BFGD – the NVIDIA Big Format Gaming Display.
Created in conjunction with NVIDIA hardware partners Acer, ASUS and HP, the NVIDIA BFGD integrates a high-end 65-inch, 4K HDR 120 Hz display with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology together with NVIDIA SHIELD, to deliver a smooth gaming and streaming experience on a giant screen.
NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR adds HDR (High Dynamic Range) capability to G-SYNC, which is a variable refresh rate technology that delivers smooth, tear-free gaming experience, when used with an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.
The NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR monitors will boast high refresh rates, higher brightness levels, greater contrast ratios, and a wider colour gamut. The NVIDIA BFGD will be no different, driving a 4K display at 120 Hz, and 1000 nits of brightness with DCI-P3 colour gamut.
Ultra-Low Latency Gaming
Nothing is more important to gamers than responsive gameplay. The NVIDIA BFGD will have ultra-low input latency, just like gaming monitors, for the most fluid and responsive big screen gaming experience.
Big Screen Streaming
[adrotate group=”2″]
The integration of the Android TV-based SHIELD into NVIDIA BFGD will allow gamers to easily switch between gaming and other forms of entertainment. The bundled SHIELD remote and game controller allow for easy navigation and access to all of the world’s biggest streaming apps, including Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube, and Hulu.
With support for the Google Assistant, the entire experience can be controlled simply by using your voice. G-SYNC HDR technology also supports video playback at native framerates, including popular 23.976, 24 and 25 FPS formats. This matches the screen’s refresh rate to the video source’s actual frame rate, eliminating interpolation and presenting the video content as it was intended to be viewed by the director.
NVIDIA BFGD Up Close!
After the NVIDIA Computex 2018 GeForce briefing, we had the opportunity to take a close look at the NVIDIA BFGD monitor. This one appears to be an ASUS ROG model.

NVIDIA has been talking about the G-SYNC HDR technology for more than a year now. But now, they are finally ready to deliver the promise with actual G-SYNC HDR monitors! So here is a refresher’s course on NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR!
NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR Explained
NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR adds HDR (High Dynamic Range) capability to G-SYNC, which is a variable refresh rate technology that delivers smooth, tear-free gaming experience, when used with an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.
Higher Brightness
NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR displays will have greatly increased brightness, with the ability to express deep saturated colours at a high brightness level. They will have the ability to produce at least 1000 nits of peak brightness, with support for the HDR10 format.
Greater Contrast
NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR displays will have a full array direct backlight, with at least 384 local dimming zones. This allows them to product contrast ratios of over 10,000:1. Traditional LCD panels with a global dimming backlight, in contrast, can only deliver contrast ratios of 1000:1 to 2000:1.
[adrotate group=”2″]
Wider Colour Gamut
The traditional sRGB colour space covers only about 35% of the colours the human eye can perceive. Hence, NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR displays will support the DCI-P3 colour space that offers 26% greater coverage of the visual spectrum than sRGB.
High Refresh Rate
NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR displays will support a high refresh rate using DisplayPort 1.4 with the High.Bit Rate 3 (HBR3) link. They will have the ability to display 4K at 144 Hz, instead of the usual 60 Hz for traditional 4K monitors.
The First G-SYNC HDR Displays
At the NVIDIA Computex 2018 press conference, and the follow-up GeForce tech briefing, NVIDIA showed off the first two G-SYNC HDR displays. They are both 27″ displays with what appears to be the same panel and key specifications. They both have a full array direct backlight, with 384 local dimming zones.
Acer Predator X27
The Acer Predator X27 (Price Check) is a 27″ 4K HDR display with a 144 Hz IPS panel, with a GTG (grey-to-grey) response time of 4 ms. It has a launch price of US$ 1,999.
ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ
The ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ is a very similar 27″ 4K HDR display with a 144 Hz IPS panel, with a GTG (grey-to-grey) response time of 4 ms. It has a 1000 nits peak brightness level, and a HDR contrast ratio of up to 50,000:1.

Right after the NVIDIA Computex 2018 press conference, they gave us a private briefing on the latest GeForce updates, as well as demos of real-time ray tracing with NVIDIA DGX Station, the NVIDIA Big Format Gaming Display (BFGD), and NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR.
Again, if you are looking for news on NVIDIA Turing, we will have to disappoint you. As NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang mentioned in his Q&A session, “it’s a long time from now” before Ampere is released. Still, there are a number of interesting GeForce-related technologies to check out…
NVIDIA Computex 2018 GeForce Updates
The session kicked off with a 34-minute long briefing on the latest GeForce updates.
Here’s a summary of the key points :
Since the latest Intel Coffee Lake mobile CPUs were introduced, there are now 85 new gaming laptops with GeForce GTX GPUs.
A year after NVIDIA Max-Q was introduced, there are now 25 laptop models built from ground-up with Max-Q design in mind.[adrotate group=”2″]
The Hunt Effect – increasing brightness increases the perceived colourfulness.
The Stevens Effect – increasing brightness increases apparent spatial resolution.
sRGB and DCI-P3 cannot display all of the colours in nature (represented by Pointer’s Gamut). Ultimately, the best possible colour gamut is Rec. 2020.
The first two NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR monitors are the Acer Predator X27 and the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG27UQ, and feature 4K HDR panels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, that can be overclocked to 144 Hz.
Both G-SYNC HDR monitors have a panel with 384-zone full-array direct backlight capable of 1000 nits brightness, with a DCI-P3 colour gamut with Quantum Dots.
NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR Demo + Comparison
Here is a demo and comparison of the Acer Predator X27 G-SYNC HDR monitor, with a “regular” Acer Predator XP1 G-SYNC monitor.
Real-Time Ray Tracing On NVIDIA DGX Station
NVIDIA also showed off real-time ray tracing on an NVIDIA DGX Station.
The NVIDIA BFGD (Big Format Gaming Display)
We also had the opportunity to check out the 65″ NVIDIA Big Format Gaming Display, which also features G-SYNC HDR.

At an exclusive experiential session, Samsung gave us a taste of their latest home entertainment products to hit our shores – the Samsung Soundbar Sound+ (HW-MS751) and the Samsung 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player (UBD-M8500). Designed to complement their QLED TV offerings, the new MS751 sound bar and M8500 Blu-ray player promise to give audiophiles and movie buffs an enhanced music and cinematic experience, right at home. Let’s check them out!
The Samsung Soundbar Sound+ & 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player Revealed!
Let’s start with this presentation on the new Samsung Soundbar Sound+ and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player by Jason Foo, Head of Audio Visual, Samsung Malaysia.
The Samsung Soundbar Sound+ (HW-MS751)
The Samsung Soundbar Sound+ is a 5-channel soundbar with a total of 11 speaker units – each with dedicated amplifiers. They include 3 wide-range tweeters, 6 woofers, and 2 vertical wide-range tweeters.
The vertical tweeters are situated on top of the unit and spray audio vertically to expand the sound image. The vertical tweeters also feature ‘Height Channel Up-mix’ technology, which allows you to enjoy a 3D surround sound as if you are actually experiencing sound of a flight or a bird over the sky.
The Soundbar Sound+ features an Ultra High Quality (UHQ) 32-bit audio, which provides a crisper sound and allows listeners to experience audio that is nearest to its original recording quality. The new Soundbar Sound+ will not only upscale any music content to 32-bit sound, it can also reproduce deep and detailed bass to as low as 35 Hz.
To reproduce deep and detailed bass from its compact 3-inch body, Samsung used their proprietary distortion cancelling technology eliminates low frequency distortion by predicting the distortion at the end of the speaker movement and pre-adjusting upfront. The resulting lows are smooth and distortion-free, meaning listeners can enjoy bass-heavy content as it was meant to be heard.
The Soundbar Sound+ also has 3 wide range tweeters that create wider sound dispersion from the source (cross-over range 600Hz ~ 20kHz).

LG Malaysia just launched the award-winning LG SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV, and it was easy to see why – it is incredibly thin! Let’s take a look at the new LG SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV, and find out what else is great about it… and how much it costs!
The LG SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV
The LG SIGNATURE OLED W-series won more than 20 awards at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Touting a Picture-on-Wall design, the 77″ SIGNATURE OLED W7 won the CES Best of Innovation Award. Due to limited supplies and the understandably astronomical price point, LG Malaysia will only be bringing in the 65″ SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV.
Thanks to the LG OLED display technology, the 65″ SIGNATURE OLED W7 TV boasts an ultra-thin profile of just 3.8 mm.
