Did Robert De Niro confront a group of Palestinian supporters in support of Israel?! Take a look at the viral video, and find out what the facts really are!
Claim : Robert De Niro Supports Israel Against Palestinian Supporters!
People are sharing a video, claiming or suggesting that it shows Robert De Niro confronting a group of Palestinian supporters in support of Israel!
Im Tirtzu: It’s so refreshing to see more people not letting narrative take over their common sense. Well done Robert De Niro, thank you for supporting Israel!
I LOVE watching them eat their own!💯
The Jewish Voice : Legendary actor Robert DeNiro stands up publicly and quite vocally in support of Israel. With anger and defiance in his voice, he says that the looming threat of Hamas is “real” and that this is not a movie. He reminds those listening that Hamas has vowed to replicate the horrific massacre of October 7th, again and again and that the world should wake up to the dangers that the international terror organization presents to the Western world.
Spitfire: DeNiro has had enough of the animals he helped create😂😂
I LOVE watching them eat their own!💯
It was even covered by Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, which triumphantly declared (archive):
Watch as Robert De Niro Confronts pro-Palestinian Protesters in New York
Actor Robert De Niro expressed support for Israel when he confronted pro-Palestinian protested on set of his new film. ‘If you’re going to keep talking nonsense, then you gotta go home’

Truth : Robert De Niro Did Not Support Israel Against Palestinian Supporters!
This is yet another example of fake news circulating on social media, and here are the reasons why…
Fact #1 : Robert De Niro Was Acting On ‘Zero Day’ Set
Let me start by confirming that the video is genuine, and shows Robert De Niro saying:
This is not a movie. This is real. Right now, you gotta listen, you gotta work, you gotta get your job done.
Stand by, offer your support, prayers, that’s great. But you gotta do it from behind the barricade. And if you’re going to keep talking nonsense, then you gotta go home.
These people are dangerous, and they say they are going to do it again! Again! We don’t want that. You don’t want that. None of us want that.
Come all, let’s all get serious.
However, it does not show Robert De Niro confronting Palestinian supporters in support of Israel. It actually shows Robert De Niro acting on the set of the Netflix TV series, Zero Day, in New York City on 27 April 2024.
At around 0:13 of the viral video clip, you can see actor Jesse Plemons just behind and to DeNiro’s right.
From about 0:15 onwards in the video, you can see a woman to his left repeatedly looking at a tablet and at Robert DeNiro, as if she was checking to see if he was following the script.
Needless to say – the video has nothing to do with Palestine, or Israel, or the October 7 attack by Hamas.
Fact #2 : ‘Zero Day’ Has Nothing To Do With Israel / Palestine
Just in case you are wondering – Zero Day is an upcoming TV series from Netflix. While its plot is not known, it has been described as a political conspiracy thriller that is centred around a devastating global cyberattack.
In that scene, De Niro’s character, former American President George Mullen, appeared to be talking to firefighters and paramedics carrying wounded people on stretchers, and not pro-Palestinian supporters.
As far as we can tell – Zero Day has nothing to do with Israel or Palestine. It is certainly not based on the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas, as the project started in November 2022, and casting started in April 2023.

Fact #3 : Video Was Originally Released Earlier
The viral video clip was released earlier on TikTok, and those posting it did not claim that it had anything to do with the pro-Palestine protests. In fact, they clearly used hashtags referring to the Netflix miniseries, Zero Day.
Even Breitbart – hardly the fount of truth, commented on the original video clip (archive), stating that Robert De Niro was acting at the scene of Zero Day, with Jesse Plemons in the background.
It was only from 1 May onwards that someone added subtitles, and a false overlay stating “Robert De Niro Stands with Israel!”
Fact #4 : Robert De Niro’s Rep + Netflix Confirmed It’s Fake
After the video went viral, Newsweek contacted the staff of the Zero Day miniseries, and both Robert De Niro’s rep, and Netflix, confirmed that the viral video clip was fake and had nothing to do with the pro-Palestinian protests.
Stan Rosenfield of Rosenfield Media Group, which represents the award-winning actor, said the video that is circulating that insinuates De Niro is arguing with protesters is “100 percent fake.”
“It is 100 percent a scene from Mr. De Niro’s Netflix TV series, Zero Day, where his character is talking to extras,” Rosenfield told Newsweek Tuesday in a phone interview.
A spokesperson for Netflix also verified that the images were captured during a rehearsal for the series.
