Did beloved actress Betty White die from her COVID-19 vaccine booster dose?
Take a look at the viral claims, and find out what the facts really are!
Claim : Betty White Died From COVID-19 Booster Dose!
Antivaxxers and anti-vaccination websites are claiming that beloved actress Betty White died from her COVID-19 vaccine booster dose.
Betty White told a news outlet she received a COVID-19 vaccine booster on Dec. 28, three days before her death, saying: “Eat healthy and get all your vaccines. I just got boosted today”.
“Eat healthy and get all your vaccines, I just got booster today,” – Betty White, Dec 28th, 2021
Ok, I was just as shocked as the next person over Betty White..RIP. But must ask.. are we just gonna skip where she had the Booster on Dec. 28th.
To make those claims more credible, they often include a link to a Crow River Media article.
Truth : Betty White Did NOT Die From COVID-19 Booster Dose!
This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS created by antivaxxers to scare people from protecting themselves with the COVID-19 vaccines.
The truth is – Betty White did NOT die from her COVID-19 booster dose, and here are the reasons why…
Fact #1 : Quote Was Not By Betty White
The “Eat healthy and get all your vaccines, I just got booster today,” quote is completely BOGUS.
Betty White never said any of that. Her agent, Jeff Witjas, confirmed to the Associated Press, “Betty never said this“.
Fact #2 : Betty White Did Not Receive Booster Dose That Day
Jeff Witjas also confirmed to the Associated Press that Betty did not receive a booster dose on December 28, 2021.
Fact #3 : Betty White Died Of A Stroke
Witjas also said that Betty died peacefully in her sleep of “natural causes”, not of a booster shot. He told People in a statement:
Betty died peacefully in her sleep at her home. People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier but that is not true.
She died of natural causes. Her death should not be politicized — that is not the life she lived.
On 11 January 2022, Betty White’s death certificate revealed that she died from a “cerebrovascular accident” – a stroke, that occurred six days earlier.
Fact #4 : COVID-19 Vaccine Did Not Cause Her Stroke
It may seem obvious, but I have to point out that COVID-19 vaccines approved in the US do NOT cause strokes.
So her true cause of death proves once and for all, that she did not die from the COVID-19 vaccine.
I should also point out that she suffered this stroke THREE (3) DAYS before she allegedly received her booster shot. Obviously, she did not receive a booster shot that day (Fact #2).
But assuming she did, that vaccine booster dose would have nothing to do with a stroke that happened three days earlier.
Fact #5 : Crow River Media Did Not Make Those Claims
The fake news creators intentionally added a link to the Crow River Media article to make their claims look legitimate, because they know that most people won’t bother to actually read it.
The few that clicked on the link and actually read the Crow River Media article would have realised that it never claimed that Betty White received her booster dose on December 28, 2021.
Neither did Crow River Media post the fake Betty White quote in their article, and then removed it after the quote went viral, as alleged by some antivaxxers.
Fact #6 : Crow River Media Refuted Those Claims
Crow River Media even addressed the use of their article to push the fake news about Betty White’s death.
In their editorial, they pointed out that this can only happen because people don’t bother to read or check, before sharing fake news.
Anyone willing to put in a few minutes of reading and research, could quite easily determine that the quote was fake.
Sadly, many people are unwilling to put in the work to determine the accuracy of social media posts, or are more than happy to accept something at face value if it aligns with their preconceived notions. This is the fundamental basis of most viral hoaxes in today’s world.
Just look at how people are doing the same thing with Bob Saget!
