Claim : AHA Said 90% Of Vaccinated People Now Have Heart Defects!
People are sharing an article (archive) by The People’s Voice (formerly NewsPunch), which claimed that the American Heart Association said that 90% of vaccinated people now have irreversible heart defects!
Here is an excerpt of the long and (intentionally?) confusing article. Feel free to skip to the next section for the facts!
American Heart Association: 90% of Vaxxed Population Now Have Deadly Heart Defects
The American Heart Association (AMA) has warned that 90 percent of the vaccinated population now suffers from an irreversible heart condition caused by the COVID-19 vaccines.

Truth : AHA Did Not Say 90% Of Vaccinated People Now Have Heart Defects!
This is yet another example of fake news created / promoted by The People’s Voice, and here are the reasons why…
Fact #1 : CKM Syndrome Is New Term For Existing Pathophysiology
Let me start by pointing out that CKM syndrome is a new term coined in October 2023 by the American Heart Association (AHA) for an existing pathophysiology.
CKM (cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic) syndrome, which is also known as cardiometabolic renal syndrome (CMR), describes the interconnections of chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
As this letter in the Journal of Medicine, Surgery, and Public Health explains, CKM syndrome is a common pathophysiology, rather than a disease. The AHA synopsis also calls it [an existing] pathophysiology.
In other words – it’s a new term for an existing human condition that has existed probably since humans have been around, and has nothing to do with COVID-19, or the vaccines.
Fact #2 : AHA Never Said 90% Vaccinated Are Suffering From CKM Syndrome
The People’s Voice article claimed that the American Heart Association warned that 90% of the vaccinated population now suffers from CKM syndrome. That’s not true.
It was a JAMA study which found that nearly 90% of people had at least stage one of CKM syndrome, while about 15% had advanced CKM syndrome.
Fact #3 : JAMA Study Was From 2011-2020
In addition, the JAMA study was conducted based on data of 10,000 adults between 2011 and 2020, which was before mass vaccinations with COVID-19 vaccines occurred in 2021.
In other words – the CKM syndrome study had nothing to do with COVID-19 vaccines. So why would anyone claim or suggest a connection between CKM syndrome and COVID-19 vaccines??? Who would be so evil as to mislead people???

Fact #4 : COVID-19 Vaccines Do Not Cause CKM Syndrome
As mentioned earlier, CKM syndrome describes an existing interconnection of three existing human diseases.
It is therefore not surprising that the American Heart Association did not once claim or suggest that COVID-19 vaccines cause CKM syndrome. After all, it has existed (albeit unnamed) long before COVID-19 vaccines were invented!
In fact, the AMA specifically pointed out that CKM syndrome is caused by existing risk factors:
CKM syndrome most commonly originates from excess or dysfunctional adipose tissue or both.
Dysfunctional adipose tissue, particularly visceral adipose tissue, secretes proinflammatory and prooxidative products that damage arterial, cardiac, and kidney tissues.
There is nothing in the AHA synopsis to even suggest CKM syndrome has nothing to do with COVID-19 vaccines. In fact, the words “vaccine” and “vaccination” were not mentioned even once in the entire synopsis.
Unsurprisingly, The People’s Voice did not provide any evidence to back up its suggestion that CKM syndrome was caused by the spike proteins created by COVID-19 vaccines!
Fact #5 : CKM Syndrome Is Reversible
The People’s Voice article also claimed or suggested that CKM syndrome is an irreversible heart condition. Not only is CKM not a heart condition, but three different conditions, it is reversible.
In fact, the American Heart Association advisory is meant to alert people to this condition, and to inform them that treatments and lifestyle modifications can not only stop CKM syndrome from further progressing, they can reverse it as well!
Unsurprisingly, The People’s Voice did not provide any evidence to back up its claim that CKM syndrome is irreversible!

Fact #6 : The People’s Voice Is Known For Fake News
The People’s Voice is the current name for NewsPunch, which possibly changed its name because its brand has been so thoroughly discredited after posting numerous shocking but fake stories.
Founded as Your News Wire in 2014, it was rebranded as NewsPunch in November 2018, before becoming The People’s Voice. A 2017 BuzzFeed report identified NewsPunch as the second-largest source of popular fake news on Facebook that year.
