Is Kamala Harris now disqualified to run for President due to her mother’s immigration fraud?! Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!
Claim : Kamala Harris is disqualified due to mother’s immigration fraud!
Some people are sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Laura Loomer (archive), who claimed that Kamala Harris may be disqualified to run for President of the United States due to her mother’s immigration fraud.
🚨🚨🚨Did Kamala Harris’s @KamalaHQ mother commit immigration fraud? And is Kamala Harris trying to force her dead mother into all of her campaign speeches as a way to normalize immigration fraud and illegal immigration? 🚨🚨🚨
Recently obtained immigration documents obtained by @LoomerUnleashed referencing Shyamala Gopalan Harris, the mother of Vice President @KamalaHarris, reveal serious issues that may lead to Kamala Harris’s disqualification as a presidential candidate.
As per a document from the United States Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service form I-463, dated August 21, 1967, Shyamala Gopalan Harris claimed to have only one child even though both of her children were born by this time. This discovery was just uncovered by @LauraLoomer and
@CcpSkipTracer.
Take note of the following birthdates:
Kamala Devi Harris was supposedly born on October 20, 1964. Kamala’s younger sister, Maya Lakshmi Harris was born January 30, 1967.
Why did Shyamala lie on official immigrations forms and say she only had one child if she had two?
Did Kamala Harris’s mother, who she made the focus of her DNC Convention Presidential nomination acceptance speech, commit immigration fraud?
This is a developing story and additional posts and receipts will be posted.

Truth : Kamala Harris’ mother did not commit immigration fraud!
This appears to be an example of fake news circulating on X (formerly Twitter), and here are the reasons why…
Fact #1 : Visa petition was filed on 18 January 1967
Let me start by pointing out that Kamala Harris’ mother – Shyamala Gopalan Harris filed her visa petition on January 18, 1967.
At that time, Kamala Harris was just over 2 years old, and her mother was pregnant with her younger sister.
Fact #2 : Maya Harris was born on 30 January 1967
Maya Lakshmi Harris – Kamala Harris’ younger sister, was born on 30 January 1967 – 12 days after her mother filed her visa petition.
In short – Shyamala Harris did not lie on her application form. The form does not show that she committed any form of immigration fraud.
At that time she filed her visa petition, Shyamala Gopalan Harris was still pregnant and had not given birth to Maya Harris. She only had one child, as stated in her application form.
Fact #3 : INS approved Shyamala Harris’ visa petition on 21 August 1967
It took the US Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) almost 7 months to approve Shyamala Harris’ visa petition on August 21, 1967.
To be clear – the August 21, 1967 date refers to the visa petition’s approval date, and not its application date.

Fact #4 : Laura Loomer did not share two other relevant forms
This may be confusing for many people because Laura Loomer only shared Form 1-463, which is one of two approval documents issued by the INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) to Shyamala Gopalan Harris – Kamala Harris’ mother, on August 21, 1967.
One page earlier was Form 1-171, which notified Shyamala Harris that her visa petition was approved. That INS Notice of Approval confirmed that her petition was filed on 1-18-67 (January 18, 1967) – almost 7 months earlier.
You can check these relevant pages in the full list of documents (PDF) on Shayamala Gopalan Harris that the US Citizenship and Immigration Services released under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) on September 28, 2020.
Form 1-140 (pages 34-35) : The Immigration Petition for Alien Workers filed by Shyamala Gopalan Harris on January 18, 1967
Form 1-171 (page 32) : The Notice of Approval of Visa Petition issued by the INS on August 21, 1967.
Form I-463 (page 33) : The report of third preference petition approved by the INS on August 21, 1967.
Did Laura Loomer miss this notice of approval? Did she not see the date of petition? If she saw the notice of approval and the petition date, why did she not share it?
It would also be most peculiar if Laura Loomer did not see Shyamala’s actual application form, which immediately followed the form she shared.
In any case, we now know conclusively that it was at least a “misunderstanding” by Laura Loomer. Perhaps next time, she will do a better “investigative job”? One can only hope…
