Well, the 1TB Galaxy S10+ is now here, and it comes with a FREEGalaxy A9 2018 smartphone! Here are the full details!
The 1TB Galaxy S10 Plus Is Here!
Like the “regular” Galaxy S10 Plus models, the 1TB Galaxy S10 Plus runs on Samsung Exynos 9820 (worldwide), or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (United States). They are both great flagship-class mobile platforms, with eight CPU cores and a fast GPU.
They are all powered by a large 4,100 mAh lithium-ion battery that supports QC 2.0 fast-charging and Wireless PowerShare.
The regular Galaxy S10 Plus models come with 8 GB of LPDDR4X memory, but the 1TB Galaxy S10 Plus goes all out with a whopping 12 GB of LPDDR4x memory!
On top of that, it has an incredible 1 TB of internal storage, courtesy of the new 1TB Samsung eUFS chip. The regular Galaxy S10 Plus models, in comparison, come with either 128 GB or 512 GB of storage.
Either way, the 1TB Galaxy S10 comes with more memory and storage than many computers out there!
Premium Ceramic Back
It also boasts the 6.4-inch Infinity-O display, with a Dynamic AMOLED panel that is HDR10+ certified, and reproduces DCI-P3 colour range, with a maximum brightness of 1200 nits.
All Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus models are protected in the front by the latest Gorilla Glass 6, which is about twice as tough as Gorilla Glass 5. It will withstand over 15 drops from a height of 1 meter on a rough surface.
But unlike the “regular” Galaxy S10 Plus models, the 1TB Galaxy S10 Plus comes with a premium Ceramic back in two colour options – Ceramic White, or Ceramic Black.
The Ceramic Back offers more than just slightly different colour options. It actually offers “extra strength, durability and better resistance to scratches“ as well as an “inner layer of scatter-protection film“.

Coming just two weeks after its global launch in Beijing, the Black Shark 2 is here to take down the ROG Phone and the Razer Phone 2!
Here is everything you need to know about Black Shark 2 – the official tech briefing, as well as its price and deals!
The Black Shark 2 Gaming Smartphone
Black Shark 2 (8GB | 12GB) is a gaming-optimised smartphone, very similar to the ROG Phone and the Razer Phone 2. It was designed to take both its competitors down in five key aspects of mobile gaming – gaming performance, gaming control, vision, hearing and vibration.
Flagship Class
The Black Shark 2 (8GB | 12GB) runs on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, and comes with either 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage, or 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage.
Direct Touch Liquid Cooling System 3.0
The Black Shark 2 (8GB | 12GB) features a direct touch liquid cooling system that keeps the entire device cool, as opposed to just cooling the CPU and GPU.
Ludicrous Mode
To guarantee maximum gaming performance with no dropped frames, the Ludicrous Mode locks the CPU into its maximum clock speed.
5-Hour Gaming Battery Life
Despite its size, the Black Shark 2 (8GB | 12GB) only comes with a 4,000 mAh battery. However, they assure us that it will let you game for up to 5 hours before it needs a recharge.
Fast Charging While Gaming
The Black Shark 2 (8GB | 12GB) supports 27 watt fast charging, which gives you 30 minutes playing time with a quick 5-minute charge, and one full hour of gaming with just 10 minutes of charging.
You don’t even have to stop playing. Even if, for example, you are playing PUBG, it will recharge to 15% in just 30 minutes.
X+2 Antenna
To ensure maximum wireless connectivity, the Black Shark 2 (8GB | 12GB) features an enhanced X+2 antenna design. The two additional side antennas help the X-type smart antenna transfer data wirelessly no matter how you grip the phone.
Low Latency Touch Screen
It claims to have the “world’s lowest latency touch screen“, with a response time of only 43.5 ms, slightly less than the iPhone XS at 45 ms and the Galaxy S10 at 60 ms.
AMOLED Display With DC Dimming
The Black Shark 2 (8GB | 12GB) has a large 6.38-inch AMOLED display with DC dimming to reduce strain on the eyes.
It also boasts an integrated DSP with MEMC (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation) capabilities to eliminate unwanted judder and blur.
Gaming Audio
[adrotate group=”2″]
Its audio system is designed specifically for gamers, with dual front-facing speakers. They are also 25% larger than speakers of a standard smartphone.
It also comes with three gaming microphones – two of them noise-cancelling microphones in the front to ensure clear in-game voice chats.
4D Gaming Experience
The Black Shark 2 (8GB | 12GB) can recognise different environments, weapons, movements and actions (e.g. hits), and can automatically vibrate itself to create a 4D gaming experience.
Host Mode
If you want to play on a larger display, you can connect it to a TV or monitor using a HDMI cable. Play your games like a console with the optional GamePad 3.0 accessory.

A Scottish bloke just found out the hard way why it’s a bad… VERY BAD IDEA to take dick pics using the newfangled rising camera that goes up and down like… his own dick.
WORST. IDEA. EVER.
A Bloody Emergency!
A horny Scottish gentleman was recently admitted to the Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, complaining that his “Johnny’s got cut!“, and spewing blood out the front of his pants.
Doctors quickly determined that a rectangular piece of his male pride was neatly cut out. They successfully sewed up the wound, but the poor bloke now has to live with a permanent downward bent in his junk!
C’est la vie! Or as they say in Scotland – Is e a bheatha!
The doctors were perplexed and greatly intrigued by the wound. It was a small but perfectly rectangular. What on Earth (or in the Milky Way) could cause such a wound?
Was it the results of some misadventure in self-gratification? Or a misunderstanding with a lass?
A Rising Camera Clipped His Junk!
With the help of a healthy dose of scopolamine and half a bottle of Macallan, they got to the bottom of it.
The poor bloke had just purchased one of those newfangled smartphones with a rising camera. He loved how the rising camera would go up and down on command, “like his own Johnny”.
After a hot and heavy evening of chatting with a lady he fancied, interspersed with Scotch shots, he decided to prove his virility by taking and sending her a few dick pics.
He could not remember what happened, but the next thing he knew, he was screaming in great pain with blood spurting everywhere!
One of the doctors passed him his phone and asked him to show them how the rising camera worked (seriously???).. and lo behold, when the rising camera slid up, out popped a piece of the Scottish lad…
The Rising Camera Is NOT For Dick Pics
Me dear laddies, it be true that the Scottish Highlands are cold and lonely, without a lass in sight and only sheep to keep the nights warm.
So we geddit when you have the urge to connect with a lass of the humanoid persuasion, But don’t be a dick and take those dick pics with a rising camera!
LOOK at how much painkillers they have to give him!!!
Yes, it may go up and down like your dick, but SERIOUSLY, it is still a self-respecting selfie camera and deserves to be treated with the appropriate respect.
So… DON’T BE A DICK and TAKE DICK PICS with your smartphone…especially if it has a rising camera!

Now that HUAWEI introduced the P30 Pro and the P30, you may be wondering – how different are they? To make it easy for you, we prepared this P30 Pro vs. P30 comparison guide!
HUAWEI P30 Pro vs P30 Comparison – Features
Display
The HUAWEI P30 Pro has a larger 6.47-inch curved OLED display. The P30, on the other hand, has a smaller 6.1-inch flat OLED display.
Because their display panels have the same display resolutions, this means the larger P30 Pro display has a slightly lower pixel density than the smaller P30 display.
Rear Cameras
The HUAWEI P30 Pro features a new Leica quad-camera system, made up of :
a 40 MP main camera with a super-bright f/1.6 aperture,
a 20 MP ultra-wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture,
an 8 MP SuperZoom telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture, and
a Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera.
The P30 Pro’s SuperZoom telephoto camera supports 5X optical zoom, 10X hybrid zoom and 50X digital zoom.
The P30 Pro has a Time of Flight (ToF) camera, which does not actually take any photos. It creates a 3D map of objects and their distances using pulses of invisible near infra-red light.
The P30 does not have the ToF camera, and uses a laser auto-focus system instead.
SuperSpectrum Sensor ISO Rating
Both models use the 1/1.7-inch 40 MP SuperSpectrum sensor, which uses a new RYYB filter to extend its ISO rating.
However, the P30 Pro supports up to ISO 409,600, while the P30 will only support up to ISO 204,800.
This is a similar technology to Sony Acoustic Surface Audio, where actuators vibrate the display to produce sound.
Only the P30 Pro comes with this feature, replacing the lower speaker with the acoustic display. The P30 comes with two regular speakers.
SuperCool Technology
Both models will feature HUAWEI SuperCool technology to keep the Kirin 980 cool, even during long gaming sessions.
However, only the P30 Pro will use both graphene film and a heat pipe to quickly conduct and shift heat away from the CPU and GPU. The P30, on the other hand, will only use graphene film.
Storage
In certain countries, the P30 comes with just 64 GB of storage. The P30 is available in two other storage capacities – 128 GB and 256 GB.
The minimum storage capacity for the P30 Pro, on the other hand, is 128 GB, with options for 256 GB and 512 GB of storage.
Both models support additional storage via HUAWEI’s NM card, instead of microSD cards.
The P30 Pro is IP68-rated, which means it is sealed against dust and can be immersed in over 1 meter of water for at least 30 minutes.
The regular P30 is just splash-resistant, with an IP53 rating. It should withstand water sprayed on it (e.g. rain) for up to 5 minutes.
Battery + Recharging
The HUAWEI P30 Pro comes with a larger 4,200 mAh battery and supports 40 W SuperCharge 2.0, as well as 15 W Wireless QuickCharge.
The regular P30, on the other hand, has a 3,650 mAh battery and only supports 22.5 W SuperCharge. It does not support wireless charging.
Size + Weight
The P30 Pro is naturally larger and heavier than the P30. It is slightly wider by 2 mm and very slightly thicker by 0.8 mm, but almost 9 mm taller and weighs 27 grams more.
Quad Camera System
- 40 MP main camera with f/1.6 lens and OIS

OPPO launches are more like concerts than actual tech launches. With the OPPO F11 Pro, they brought in Eric Chou and Fattah Amin for a mini-concert!
Check out the complete OPPO F11 Pro launch, as well as the mini-concert by Eric Chou and Fattah Amin!
The OPPO F11 Pro Smartphone
The OPPO F11 Pro (Price Check) shifts the emphasis from selfie photography to portrait photography. It boasts a 48 MP rear camera with a bright f/1.79 aperture that should work great in low-light conditions.
It even supports the Tetracell technology, which basically combines four pixels for greater light sensitivity in very low-light conditions. The resulting picture will have a lower 12 MP resolution but it will capture 4X more light!
The OPPO F11 Pro (Price Check) also boasts other photography technologies like Ultra Night Mode and Dazzle Colour Mode. They leverage AI and multi-frame noise reduction technologies to reduce noise, stabilise handheld movements, suppress highlights and enhance dynamic range.
The OPPO F11 Pro (Price Check) runs on the MediaTek Helio P70 mobile SoC, and is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery. It supports the VOOC 3.0 flash charging technology that shortens charging time by a further 20 minutes.
OPPO also introduced Hyper Boost, their version of HUAWEI’s GPU Turbo. It basically optimises system resources for a faster game response with no disconnections or dropped frames… for about 11 mobile games.
OPPO F11 Pro Price + Availability
The OPPO F11 Pro (Price Check) comes in two colour options – Thunder Black with three colour gradients, and Aurora Green with two colour gradients.
It is available for pre-order from now until 29 March, 2019. Retail and online sales kick off on 30 March 2019, at a launch price of RM 1,399 / ~US$ 344 / £261. Here are some direct links :

HUAWEI has been teasing us A LOT about the P30’s photography capabilities. Now, they just shared with us the three key HUAWEI P30 camera features! Let’s check them out!
What We Know About The HUAWEI P30 Camera
Here is what we know so far about the HUAWEI P30 camera :
The HUAWEI P30 Pro will have a quad-lens Leica camera
The HUAWEI P30 will have a triple-lens Leica camera
Both models will have Super Zoom capability, rumoured to offer up to 10X optical zoom
We can confirm that the HUAWEI P30 camera will have the Super Zoom capability. based on the three sets of Super Zoom photos leaked so far :
HUAWEI just shared with us details and teaser videos of these key HUAWEI P30 camera features!
Super Night Mode
The Super Night Mode teaser video shows how the HUAWEI P30 smartphone is able to capture the subject with just a minute glow from a firefly.
Insect rights aside, the video conveys that the HUAWEI P30 camera only requires a little light to capture the lady with great detail and accurate colours, even though the room is almost completely dark.
Super Zoom
We had already seen three sets of Super Zoom photos, but this teaser video reminds us that Super Zoom is also very useful for recording videos of faraway subjects.
Video recording will never be the same again with Super Zoom capability, especially if rumours of 10X optical zoom are true!
[adrotate group=”1″]
Dual View
This is new – the ability to record a video from two cameras at the same time! It’s like the Nokia Dual-Sight Bothie, but instead of recording from the front and rear cameras, Dual View records from two rear cameras.
The teaser video shows the creative possibility of combining two scenes – far and close – simultaneously. From what we can see, Dual View captures and combines video footage from the telephoto and main cameras.

HUAWEI just created a special HUAWEI P30 mini-site, where you can save the date to your calendar, and get updated on the upcoming HUAWEI P30 smartphones!

Samsung Galaxy S10 Models
Samsung officially released three models. The standard Samsung Galaxy S10 model will have two variants
a base model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage
a higher-end model with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage
Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S9+, there will be a larger Galaxy S10+ model with three variants too :
a base model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage
a higher-end model with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage
a premium model with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage
How did Samsung double storage capacity to 1 TB? Read about the1TB Samsung eUFS chip!
On top of that, they will introduce an entry-level model – the Galaxy S10e, with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. However, the Galaxy S10e (256GB) model appears to be limited to the United States and Canada.
Unfortunately, there is no sign of the Prism Blue, Flamingo Pink or Canary Yellow colours. As mentioned in our Galaxy S10 primer, not all colours are available in every country.
The Samsung Galaxy S10+ with 512 GB or 1 TB of storage comes with the premium Ceramic White or Ceramic Black options. Let’s compare them to the regular Prism White and Prism Black colours.
According to our source at Samsung, the ceramic back offers “extra strength, durability and better resistance to scratches“. In addition, it has an additional “inner layer of scatter-protection film“.
In addition, Samsung revealed that the ceramic backs are a result of “an intense 200-hour long manufacturing process“. So these premium ceramic backs are more than just about colour and looks!
The Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e are said to be protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 6, which is about twice as tough as Gorilla Glass 5. It will withstand over 15 drops from a height of 1 meter on a rough surface.
However, they are only protected by Gorilla Glass 6in the front. Their backs are protected by Gorilla Glass 5, except for premium Galaxy S10+ models.
As mentioned in the previous section, premium Samsung Galaxy S10+ models with 512 GB or 1 TB of storage have ceramic backs that are tougher and more scratch-resistant.

The HUAWEI team seems to be on a concert binge! We just obtained more Super Zoom samples from the HUAWEI P30, this time of Chinese superstar, Wang Lee Hom!
Check them out, and find out why the P30 Super Zoom capability will be one of its killer features!
Concert Photography Made Possible With A Smartphone?
Everyone LOVES a good concert, and what better way to memorialise it than to take photos of your favourite singers belting it out LIVE?
The only problem? It’s quite impossible to take decent shots using any smartphone if you are seated at a distance from the stage. More so when the light show at concerts can wreak havoc with the colour, contrast and brightness of the photos!
All that looks to change with the upcoming HUAWEI P30 Pro smartphone!
HUAWEI P30 Super Zoom Photos Of Wang Lee Hom!
At the recent concert by Chinese superstar Wang Lee Hom in Kuala Lumpur, another member of Team HUAWEI took a dozen shots using the soon-to-launch HUAWEI P30 smartphone… at a considerable distance from the stage!
This is the first set of photos we have seen of the P30’s camera in a concert setting. The earlier set was of the P30 Pro. The photos were then cropped to compare the quality at three zoom ranges – Normal Shot, Close Shot, and Super Close Shot.
If they are really from the HUAWEI P30, these Super Zoom samples are really impressive for a couple of reasons.
The photographer seems to be seated at a considerable distance from the stage. Yet you can clearly see Wang Lee Hom’s face clearly. Even though the Super Zoom shot is a little fuzzy, it is still far better than we would expect of any smartphone camera available out there.
These HUAWEI P30 Super Zoom pictures show a considerable improvement in HUAWEI’s zoom photographic capabilities. If rumours are true, the HUAWEI P30 or P30 Pro will support 10X optical zoom. Incredible!
HUAWEI P30 Camera Details
We will soon be able to try out the HUAWEI P30 camera for ourselves. HUAWEI is set to unveil it on 26 March 2019. But here is what we know so far about its camera :
The HUAWEI P30 will have three Leica cameras at the back
It will have super zoom capability – a hybrid combination of optical and digital zoom.
The higher-end HUAWEI P30 Pro is rumoured to have an even more impressive super zoom capability, which Richard Yu, CEO of HUAWEI Technologies Consumer Business Group, practically confirmed when he released an image of the superman on his Weibo account.
The watermark suggests that this moon shot was taken with the HUAWEI P30 Pro, using its quad-lens Leica camera.
You may recall that last year’s HUAWEI P20 Pro introduced the world’s first triple-lens camera, with 3X zoom. The same ground-breaking Leica camera was also used in the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro, allowing both smartphones to achieve a class-topping DxOMark score of 109 points!
HUAWEI Backup May Be FREE!
[adrotate group=”2″]
We have just learned that HUAWEI may be giving away HUAWEI Backup – a 1 TB external hard disk drive storage solution that will manually or automatically backup data from your smartphone!
This will allow you to take as many photos as you wish with your HUAWEI P30 Pro, and never run out of storage!

In this in-depth review, we will see how Samsung achieved that feat, and find out if this is indeed the best smartphone Samsung ever made!
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Models
First, let us point out that there are three variants of the Galaxy S10 Plus smartphone :
a base model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage
a higher-end model with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage
a premium model with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Colour Options
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) is available in six colour options, although not all colours will be available in all countries.
Prism White
Prism Black
Prism Green
Prism Blue
Ceramic White
Ceramic Black
Here is a comparison of the available colours for the S10 Plus, as well as the S10 and S10e models.
Unfortunately, there was no sign of the Prism Blue, Flamingo Pink or Canary Yellow colours. As mentioned in our Galaxy S10 primer, not all colours are available in every country.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Premium Ceramic Back
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) has two premium Ceramic White or Ceramic Black colour options, but they are limited to the higher-end models with 512 GB or 1 TB of storage.
The Ceramic back is heavier by 23 grams (13%), and was said to be more durable. However, we confirmed that both Ceramic and non-Ceramic backs are covered with Gorilla Glass 5. So the durability and scratch-resistance of the two types of backs are a moot point.
Ultimately, the Ceramic backs are all about the looks. You get a more premium looking back with the 512 GB or 1 TB models.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Up Close!
Before its availability on 8 March 2019, Samsung arranged an exclusive hands-on session. Here is our hands-on video of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) smartphone!
On the left side, you will find the Volume control buttons, as well as the dedicated Bixby button.
The Power button is located on the right side. Samsung repositioned it higher in the new Galaxy S10 smartphones, ostensibly to avoid accidental presses.
The hybrid SIM tray is located at the top, together with a second microphone port (for noise cancellation).
Thankfully, Samsung retained the 3.5 mm audio port while they squeezed the S10+ thinner – at just under 8 mm.
Everything else is the same as the Galaxy S9 Plus – a USB Type C port, a microphone port and an AKG-tuned speaker at the bottom.
More Powerful Exynos / Snapdragon Platforms
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) runs on either the new Samsung Exynos 9820 (worldwide), or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (United States) platforms.
The Samsung Exynos 9820 has a triple-cluster CPU architecture with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) (like the Kirin 980). Samsung says that it will deliver these performance advantages over the Exynos 9810 :
20% better single core performance,
15% better multi-core performance,
40% better power efficiency, and
7X faster AI performance
Built on the 8 nm LPP FinFET process technology, it also boasts 10% lower power consumption, compared to the last generation 10 nm LPP process.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, on the other hand, is fabricated on the 7 nm process technology., which should deliver similar power savings.
It also uses a triple-cluster CPU architecture, and comes with an Adreno 640 GPU and an X24 LTE modem that supports Cat20 download and uploads.

Galaxy S10 Plus Has More Memory + Storage!
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) comes with a lot more memory and storage :
8 GB LPDDR4x + 128 GB eUFS 2.1 storage
8 GB LPDDR4x + 512 GB eUFS 2.1 storage
12 GB LPDDR4x + 1 TB eUFS 2.1 storage
And if that’s not enough, it comes with a hybrid SIM tray, where the second SIM slot can support a microSD card of up to 512 GB in capacity. If you don’t need the extra storage, you can use two nano SIM cards at the same time.
A hybrid SIM tray is generally good enough for most people. But if you need to use two SIM cards, you better opt for higher internal storage, because there is no way to add a microSD card.

Infinity-O Display
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) features a very large 6.4-inch display with 1440 x 3040 pixels and a 495 ppi pixel density.
This is the new Infinity-O design, which allows Samsung to deliver a screen-to-body ratio in excess of 95%.
Instead of a notch, the Galaxy S10 Plus uses a pill-shaped hole to accommodate its two front cameras. Functionally, it works like a right-sided notch, with the area adjacent to the notch reserved for notifications.
Ignoring the notification area, the main display area has a WQHD+ resolution of 1440 x 2960. However, the Galaxy S10 Plus defaults to a Full HD+ resolution to reduce power consumption and extend battery life.
Dynamic AMOLED Panel
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) uses the next-generation Dynamic AMOLED panel that is HDR10+ certified.
This is literally the best smartphone display in the industry right now, capable of producing 100% of the DCI-P3 colour range, with a maximum brightness of 1200 nits.
This Dynamic AMOLED panel was also engineered to reduce blue light by 42% without changing how colours appear. This would make for more comfortable viewing with less eyestrain, especially at night.
Gorilla Glass 6 + Gorilla Glass 5
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) is said to be protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 6, but that’s not entirely accurate.
It is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 in the front; but only has Gorilla Glass 5 covering its back. This is true even for the premium models with a Ceramic back.
In case you are wondering, Gorilla Glass 6 is about twice as tough as Gorilla Glass 5. It will withstand over 15 drops from a height of 1 meter on a rough surface.
Ultrasonic In-Display Fingerprint Sensor
One of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus’ killer feature is its new in-display fingerprint sensor.
In-display fingerprint sensors have already been introduced in smartphones like the OPPO R17 Pro, but these use optical sensors that basically take pictures for a 2D profile.
This new in-display fingerprint sensor uses ultrasonic pulses to take 3D profiles of the user’s fingerprints. This allows it to be more accurate and secure.
In our tests, it proved to be surprisingly good. You just need to learn to press a little harder for the sensor to detect your fingerprint.
The bad news is – Samsung dropped the pressure sensor and feedback for the virtual Home button. So you will need to tap twice on the Home button to activate it.
[adrotate group=”1″]
Iris Scanner + Intelligent Scan Removed
With the introduction of the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, Samsung removed the iris scanner. It was also removed to minimise the size of the punch hole in the display.
And with the iris scanner gone, there was no need for Intelligent Scan, which was first introduced in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. Intelligent Scan, as you may recall, combines the iris scanner with facial recognition for faster identification in both bright and dark conditions.
Galaxy S10 Plus Has Built-In DeX Capability!
While not mentioned at all by Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) has built-in DeX capability, that was first introduced in the Galaxy Note9.
This mean it does not require a separate DeX Station or DeX Pad accessory. All it requires is a simple USB-C to HDMI adaptor or cable! It does not even require a Samsung-branded adaptor (looking at you and your MFi bullshit, Apple!) – ANY USB-C to HDMI adaptor or cable will do.
After you use the USB-C to HDMI adaptor or cable to connect the Galaxy S10 Plus to a TV or monitor, you just need to link a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to use it like a PC. Best of all – you can continue to use your Galaxy S10 Plus while Samsung DeX is running!

Dual-Lens Front Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) has a new dual-lens front camera.
The main front camera has a 10 MP Dual Pixel sensor with f/1.9 lens and a 80° viewing angle. The second “camera” is an 8 MP RGB depth sensor with f/2.2 lens.
Now, the depth-sensing camera does not take any pictures or video. Instead, it is used by the main 10 MP camera to better differentiate the subject from its background.
This allows for more realistic software bokeh effect, and adds Live Focus capability for the first time to a front camera.
3X Rear Cameras
In the back, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) boasts a triple camera system, which consists of :
a 12 MP dual-aperture camera (f/1.5 and f/2.4) – 77°, Dual Pixel, OIS
a 16 MP ultra wide-angle camera (f/2.2) – 123°, 0.5X optical zoom
a 12 MP telephoto camera (f/2.4) – 45°, 2X optical zoom, OIS
Look at how useful the three cameras are in aiding your creative composition :
Note that only the main dual-aperture camera, and the telephoto camera (both with 12 MP sensors) support optical image stabilisation (OIS). The new ultra-wide angle camera does NOT support optical image stabilisation.
This is important when you take videos, because you will lose optical image stabilisation if you switch to the ultra-wide camera. Your video will still be stabilised by electronic image stabilisation though.
[adrotate group=”1″]
HDR10+ Video Recording
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) not only comes with a HDR10+ certified display, it also has the ability to record HDR10+ videos!
HDR10+ is an improved version of the HDR10 standard. It maintains the 10-bit colour depth of HDR10, but replaces its static metadata with dynamic metadata. This improves the dynamic range by allowing the brightness boundaries to be adjusted on a frame-by-frame basis.
However, please note that HDR10+ videos recorded on the Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) will only display properly on devices and TVs that support HDR10+, like the 2018 Samsung QLED TV range.
Samsung says that you can convert HDR10+ videos into non-HDR videos using its Gallery app. However, the functionality does not appear to be included in current version of their Gallery app. Enabling HDR10+ video recording also disables the more-efficient HEVC format.
Later in the review, we will show you what happens when you try to display or view HDR10+ videos on a platform or display that does NOT support HDR10+.
Improved Super Slow-mo
Like the Galaxy S9 Plus and the Galaxy Note9, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) supports Super Slow-mo ,which allows you to record 720p video at 960 fps. It has been improved though, with Samsung doubling its recording time from 0.2-0.4 seconds to 0.4-0.8 seconds.
The Super Slow-mo videos can be instantly edited, with a random selection from preloaded choices. Or you can use your own music / songs. You can also create a GIF from the recorded video, with three style of looping – reverse, forward or swing.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Battery + Charging
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) comes with a large 4,100 mAh battery – 600 mAh or 17% larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy S9 Plus.
What’s really cool though is its Wireless PowerShare feature. It allows the Galaxy S10 Plus to function as a wireless charger for any Qi-certified device!
However, its recharging speed is slow, so it’s really only useful to recharge the Galaxy Buds or the Galaxy Watch on a regular basis; and other smartphones in an emergency.
Although we expected Samsung to improve its fast charging technology, the Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) maintains the Quick Charge 2.0 fast wired charging, with the standard 15 watt Samsung fast adaptive charger.
This is frankly pretty dinky compared to the OPPO R17 Pro with its 50 watt SuperVOOC charging technology.
IP68 Dust & Water Resistance
Like the Galaxy S9 Plus, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is IP68-rated for dust- and water-resistance. Best of all, you don’t have to prepare it in any way before you dunk it into water!
Officially, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) can withstand complete immersion in water up to 1.5 m in depth, for up to 30 minutes. That means you can take it for jogs in the rain, or reading in the bathtub. Heck, you can even take it for a swim!
There are some caveats though. The IP68 rating applies to a specific set of test conditions : 15-35 °C, 86-106 kPa, 1.5 metre, 30 minutes. Water may enter and damage the Galaxy Note9 if it is exposed to “water moving with force“, like running water from a tap or waterfall, or ocean waves.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) has the same display size as the Samsung Galaxy Note9 (US | MY Web | MY App). It even has a slightly larger battery. Yet it is smaller, thinner and lighter! In fact, it is smaller than a 5.7-inch smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy Note FE (Price Check).
That said, this is still a two-handed device, because of its height. If you prefer to use only one hand, you can turn on the One-handed mode option.
The new Dynamic AMOLED display is incredible. To see how much better it is, you need to compare it side-by-side with the already impressive Super AMOLED display used in the Galaxy S9 Plus and the Galaxy Note9. In particular, compare them in bright sunlight.
The main display area with its non-standard 18.5:9 display ratio means you will have to live with some pillarboxing– a black bar on each side of a movie. The extra wide display will come in handy in games though.

Setting Up The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, and is very easy to set-up. If you are setting it up as a new device, it should take you only 5-7 minutes to finish the setup process.
Available Memory + Storage
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) base model comes with 8 GB of LPDDR4x memory. It has roughly the slightly more bloat than the Galaxy S9 Plus and the Galaxy Note9. However, it comes with 2 GB more memory, so you have almost 5 GB (61%) of free memory to use!
The base model also comes with 128 GB of internal flash memory, of which 107 GB is free to use. This is enough space to store about 24,000 photos, or 13 hours of 1080p videos, or 5 hours of 4K videos.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Camera Performance – Photo Samples
Samsung brought over the excellent 12 MP dual-aperture camera from the Galaxy S9 Plus, and the Galaxy Note9.
Powered by the superb 12 MP Samsung ISOCELL Fast SAK2L3 sensor, it is capable of automatically or manually switching between the f/1.5 aperture, and the f/2.4 aperture.
The maximum 12 MP resolution is attained with the 4:3 aspect ratio, with 4032 x 3024 pixels, and a file size of between 3 MB and 5 MB.
Here are 10 high-resolution unedited samples for you to check out. Click on them to load the full-sized photos, which you can also download to examine.
There is no doubt that this is still one of the best smartphone cameras in the market, even though it was introduced a year ago.
You can see the intricate detail of the pepper seeds, the flower pollen, even the individual buds of the broccoli florets.
[adrotate group=”2″]
It also did a great job of bringing out the colour of the subject matter. Every colour is accurately rendered and automatically “amped up” by AI algorithms. If you do not like the increased vividness though, you can turn off the Scene Optimiser feature.
The f/1.5 aperture naturally creates a very narrow depth of field, with a nicer bokeh effect. But if that’s not enough, you can use its Live Focus feature which allows you to create really awesome bokeh for the background.
No doubt, the Live Focus bokeh is artificially created, but the dual camera design allow for precise separation of the subject from the background. Live Focus also allows you to adjust the amount of bokeh for the background.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Camera Performance – Video Samples
Like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) is capable of recording 4K videos from both front and back cameras. However, Samsung still limits the 4K recording time to just 10 minutes. This was likely done to ensure that the sensor does not overheat the battery.
Video Recording Test #1 : Piano (1080p)
In this video, you can see the amount of detail the sensor captures, even at just 1080p.
You can also see how well its OIS capability worked, even when we switched between the main camera and the telephoto camera. Its ultra-wide camera does not support OIS, but has good EIS capability.
There was a noticeable lag when we switched from the telephoto camera to the ultra-wide camera (at minute 2:02), but there was minimal lag if we go from telephoto camera > main camera > ultra-wide camera, and vice versa.
The Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY), sadly, does not support Hi-Res Audio recording, and its noise cancellation could really be much better. We hope Samsung will look at adding context-aware noise cancellation, and perhaps a third microphone next to the rear cameras.
Video Recording Test #2 : Piano (4K)
The resolution at 4K is incredible. You can clearly read the billboard of the pretzel stand in the background!
Samsung also solved the focus seeking issue we noted when we reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S9+ (Price Check), which uses the same dual-aperture main camera.
There was, however, some auto-focus issues with the telephoto lens (which does not have a Dual Pixel sensor), and the OIS was slightly less effective at this high resolution.
Video Recording Test #3 : Piano (1080p with HDR10+)
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) supports HDR10+ video recording, but many devices still do not support HDR10+. Neither does YouTube. So check out what happens when you try to view a HDR10+ video on a non-HDR10+ platform.
Video Recording Test #4 : Piano (4K with HDR10+)
Just like with the earlier 1080p video, this HDR10+ video appears washed-out when viewed on a device or platform that does not support HDR10+.
Note that this is not a criticism of the HDR10+ video recording. The videos look great on the Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY). We are just demonstrating what happens if you try to view them on non-HDR displays.
[adrotate group=”1″]
Video Recording Test #5 : Street Market (1080p)
The combination of OIS and EIS allowed the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) to deliver really good image stabilisation.
Video Recording Test #6 : Street Market (4K)
Its image stabilisation capabilities were not diminished with the higher resolution. Overall – very good OIS and EIS performance.

Work Performance – PCMark
We tested the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus’ performance using PCMark, which simulates work applications like web browing, playing video, writing text and editing photos.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus’ Exynos 9820 greatly improved on the mediocre work performance of the Exynos 9810 used in the Galaxy S9 Plus, and the Galaxy Note9 . However, it still falls behind the Kirin 980 that powers the HUAWEI Mate20.
Gaming Performance – 3DMark
We tested the Galaxy S10 Plus’ gaming performance using 3DMark, using the Ice Storm Unlimited test.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) has the same battery size and battery life as the Galaxy Note9, but lasted more than an hour longer than the Galaxy S9 Plus.
Thanks to its larger 4,100 mAh battery, it lasted longer than the S9 Plus, even when you turned its display resolution all the way to WQHD+.
Battery Recharging Performance
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus comes with an adaptive fast charger with a power output of 15 W. Take a look at how fast it recharged its 4,100 mAh battery.
Despite using the same old 15 watt adaptive fast charger as the Galaxy S9 Plus, and the Galaxy Note9, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) has significantly improved fast charging performance – about 20-22%.
Even though the Galaxy S10 Plus has about the same battery capacity as the Galaxy Note9 and the HUAWEI Mate20, it fully recharged its battery 15 minutes and 26 minutes faster respectively.
This gives it an improved battery life : recharging ratio of 6.75 : 1. A rule of thumb – for one hour of battery life, charge it for 9 minutes.
The fastest recharging happened up to the 90% level. This took just 61 minutes. Then the recharging speed slowed down, and it took a further 30.5 minutes to top up the remaining 10%.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus – Our Verdict + Award
Despite Apple slacking on the job, Samsung continues to push the boundaries of smartphone technology. Perhaps, it’s the clear and present danger from HUAWEI. Perhaps it’s the fear of declining smartphone sales worldwide.
Whatever the reason – Samsung delivered another killer smartphone in the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus!
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) is, as we would expect, FASTER and comes with even more memory and storage than its predecessor. But that’s not why we think it’s a great smartphone.
They just packed a larger 6.4-inch display, a larger 4,100 mAh battery, and two extra cameras into a smaller, thinner and lighter device! This is a remarkable feat of engineering.
Its Dynamic AMOLED display deserves special mention. It is incredibly bright at 1200 nits, with a wide colour gamut – 100% of DCI-P3 – and is HDR10+ certified! This is hands-down, the industry’s best display.
Credit also goes to Samsung for taking their time to perfect and introduce an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. This is definitely more secure and accurate than optical in-display fingerprint sensors. In our tests, it even works with damp fingers!
We did not cover the dual-lens front camera much in this review, so we should point out that it’s not a gimmick. The ability to selectively blur the background of selfies is really useful. If you like taking selfies, it’s worth splurging on the Galaxy S10 Plus for its dual-lens front camera.
The addition of an ultra-wide angle camera to the already excellent dual camera system from the Galaxy S9 Plus, and the Galaxy Note9 is a nice upgrade. It’s not something you would appreciate until you actually start using it.
We also want to salute Samsung for introducing the ability to record HDR10+ videos, although we have to point out that HDR10+ support is still limited. Samsung also seemed to have forgotten to add the ability to convert the videos.
But if you already have a TV or monitor that supports HDR10+, you can start creating HDR10+ videos with your Galaxy S10 Plus! And remember – HDR10+ is the future. It’s a matter of time before you upgrade to a HDR10+ display or television.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) is not perfect, of course. Samsung still has not done much to improve its audio recording quality, even as they improved its audio output. And the relocated Power button always seems to be a thumb too far to press…
Its Wireless PowerShare feature is interesting and quite useful on-the-go. However, its slow recharging speed means its utility is largely limited to small devices like the Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Watch. Recharging other smartphones is painfully slow, and should be relied on only in emergencies.
But its few faults are testament to the full decade of evolution behind its development. We continue to be impressed by each iteration of the Galaxy family, and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (US | UK | MY) is, in our opinion, a worthy successor to the excellent Galaxy S9 Plus.
There is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is a truly great smartphone, and worthy of our Editor’s Choice Award! Great job, Samsung!

Malaysian celebrities and heartthrob couple, Fasha Sandha and Aidil Aziz, just leaked their pre-wedding photos. And believe it or not – they were taken with the HUAWEI P30 smartphone, which has not yet been launched!
Wedding Photography Is Changing
For decades, every posh wedding requires a retinue of photographers with large, heavy DSLRs. But times are changing. Couples are now opting for smartphones, which are handier and allow them to be part of the process.
The wedding photography today are definitely more creative, natural and spontaneous. There are more selfies, wefies, and video content. Best of all – they can all be shared with family and friends within seconds!
The image quality of smartphones have also improved drastically. This makes them truly indispensable at every important times of our lives.
These Pre-Wedding Photos Were Taken By HUAWEI P30!
Fasha Sandha and Aidil Aziz appear to believe so too. In their recent pre-wedding photoshoot, they apparently used the yet-to-be-released HUAWEI P30 smartphone. These five photos were leaked on her Instagram feed.
Here is what we think stands out from her posts :
She confirmed that they were taken by a HUAWEI P30 series smartphone.
The image quality is spectacular, with very good colour and contrast
The super close shots show incredible detail
It’s quite likely that her photographer was using the top-of-the-line HUAWEI P30 Pro, which is rumoured to boast an incredible 10X optical zoom capability!
But if her photographer was using the standard HUAWEI P30 model, then that would be even more incredible!
HUAWEI has shown a dogged interest in pushing the boundaries of mobile photography.

With the pre-order deals and roadshow sales over, all Samsung Galaxy S10 models are now available for sale at these online stores in Malaysia :
Unfortunately, there is no sign of the Prism Blue, Flamingo Pink or Canary Yellow colours. As mentioned in our Galaxy S10 primer, not all colours are available in every country.

New Flagship Platforms
All four models will run on either the new Samsung Exynos 9820 (worldwide), or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (United States) platforms.
The Samsung Exynos 9820 has a triple-cluster architecture with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) (like the Kirin 980). Samsung says that it will deliver these performance advantages over the Exynos 9810 :
20% better single core performance,
15% better multi-core performance, and
40% better power efficiency
7X faster AI performance
Built on the 8 nm LPP FinFET process technology, it also boasts 10% lower power consumption, compared to the last generation 10 nm LPP process.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, on the other hand, is fabricated on the 7 nm process technology. It also uses a triple-cluster architecture, and comes with an Adreno 640 GPU and an X24 LTE modem that supports Cat20 download and uploads.
More Memory + Storage!
All four models have a lot more memory and storage :
The highest-endS10+ model has a whopping 12 GB of memory.
Storage capacities have also been expanded, with a 1 TB storage option thanks to the new Samsung eUFS chip.
The S10e comes with either 128 GB or 256 GB of storage.
The S10 andS10+comes with either 128 GB or 512 GB of storage.
The highest-end S10+ model comes with 1 TB of storage.
And if that’s not enough, all three models come with a hybrid SIM slot, where the second SIM slot can support a microSD card of up to 512 GB in capacity.
Infinity-O Display
All four models will have the new Infinity-O displays, with circular or pill-shaped holes for the front cameras. This allows Samsung to deliver a screen-to-body ratio in excess of 90%.
The S10e has 5.8-inch flat display, with 1080 x 2280 pixels (438 poi)
The S10 has a 6.1-inch display with curved edges, and 1440 x 3040 pixels (550 ppi(
The S10+ has a 6.4-inch display with curved edges, and 1440 x 3040 pixels (495 ppi)
The regular S10, and the cheaper S10e (S10 Lite), have a circular hole because they only have a single front camera.
The largerS10+ (also known as the S10 Plus) has a pill-shaped hole because it has two front cameras. In addition to a regular selfie camera, they have an ultra wide-angle selfie camera.

Dynamic AMOLED Panel
All three models use the next-generation Dynamic AMOLED panels that are HDR10+ certified. They are literally the best smartphone displays in the industry right now, capable of producing 100% of the DCI-P3 colour range, with a maximum brightness of 1200 nits.
These Dynamic AMOLED panels were also engineered to reduce blue light by 42% without changing how colours appear. This would make for more comfortable viewing with less eyestrain, especially at night.
Gorilla Glass 6 + Gorilla Glass 5
The Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones are said to be protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 6, but that’s not entirely accurate. Let us summarise its protection for you :
Premium S10+ : Gorilla Glass 6 protects the front, while Ceramic protects the back.
S10+ and S10 : Gorilla Glass 6 protects the front, while Gorilla Glass 5 protects the back.
S10e : Gorilla Glass 5 protects the front and back.

More Cameras
They all boast a higher resolution front camera, with a Dual Pixel sensor for faster and more accurate autofocus :
S10e and S10 :10 MP Dual Pixel sensor with f/1.9 lens
S10+ :10 MP Dual Pixel sensor with f/1.9 lens + 8 MP depth sensor with f/2.2 lens
The depth sensor in the Galaxy S10+ adds Live Focus capability for the first time to a front camera.
In the back, they feature either a dual-camera system, or triple-camera system.
S10e :12 MP dual-aperture camera (f/1.5 and f/2.4) + 16 MP ultra wide-angle camera (f/2.2)
S10 and S10+ :12 MP dual-aperture camera (f/1.5 and f/2.4) + 16 MP ultra wide-angle camera (f/2.2) + 12 MP telephoto camera (f/2.4)
Improved Super Slow-mo
Samsung doubled the Super Slow-mo recording time from 0.2-0.4 seconds to 0.4-0.8 seconds in all four models. Unfortunately, the video resolution is still limited to 720p at 960 fps.
Ultrasonic In-Display Fingerprint Sensor
To achieve a much greater display-to-body ratio, the S10 and S10+ will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The cheaper S10e (represented by the grey model on the left here), will have a fingerprint sensor embedded into its Power button – a feature first seen in the Samsung Galaxy A7 2018.
In-display fingerprint sensors have already been introduced in smartphones like the OPPO R17 Pro, but these use optical sensors that basically take pictures for a 2D profile.
This new in-display fingerprint sensor uses ultrasonic technology, which uses ultrasound waves to take 3D profiles of the user’s fingerprints. This is said to be far more reliable and accurate than optical sensors.

Battery + Charging
All four models will come with a larger battery, with improved charging capabilities.
S10e :3,100 mAh battery + QC 2.0 fast charging + Wireless PowerShare
S10 :3,400 mAh battery + QC 2.0 fast charging + Wireless PowerShare
S10+ :4,100 mAh battery + QC 2.0 fast charging + Wireless PowerShare
The Wireless PowerShare feature is particularly cool and useful. It allows Galaxy S10 smartphones to function as a wireless charger for any Qi-certified device!
Official Galaxy S10 Cases
Not all Samsung Galaxy S10 models will come with a bundled bumper case. To accommodate those who need better protection, Samsung offers six different type of cases with matching colours!

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S family of premium smartphones, Samsung launched TEN Galaxy S10 smartphones into the stratosphere… LITERALLY. Here is our full coverage of the Samsung Galaxy S10 space launch and the Be Unbeaten contest!
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Space Launch!
For the very first time, a smartphone gets launched into the stratosphere, and it is apt that Samsung chose their 10th generation Samsung Galaxy S10. In fact, they sent not one, not two… but TEN of them, just because the Galaxy S10 is their 10th anniversary Galaxy S smartphone.
The payload of ten Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones was hoisted by a high-altitude balloon to an altitude of 80,000 feet. At the very top, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will take a bird’s eye shot of the earth.
Samsung promises that the 4K video taken will be brighter and with more dynamic range than any other smartphone, thanks to its pro-grade camera and the new ability to record videos in HDR10+.
Be Unbeaten Contest
The public was invited to be part of this historic Galaxy S10 space launch by predicting where the payload will land through photos of its 4K video feed. All they had to do was drop the pin on the location they think the payload will land!
The ten participants with the closest location to the actual landing spot each walked home with a Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone! Congratulations!

Leather Cover / Leather Back Cover
The Leather Cover (also known as the Leather Back Cover) is made from calfskin and has aluminium buttons
The Protective Standing Cover (also known as the Rugged Protective Cover) protects your Galaxy S10 against drops and falls, while also propping it up at two viewing angles.
