HUAWEI Mate 40 : A Quick Primer!

The HUAWEI Mate40 is the baby of the new Mate 40 series, with a slightly small 6.5-inch display.

Built around the new Kirin 9000E – the world’s first 5 nm mobile platforms, it offers a new level of CPU, GPU and AI performance, with integrated 5G connectivity.

The HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro is a slightly larger IP53-rated smartphone, with a 6.5-inch display and a resolution of 1080 x 2376 pixels.

Built around the Kirin 9000E, it comes with 8 GB LPDDR5 memory, 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,200 mAh battery with support for 40 watt wired charging.

It has a 13 MP front camera, and a triple camera system at the back that consists of :

  • a 50 MP main camera, with 1.9 aperture
  • a 16 MP ultra-wide camera, with f/2.2 aperture, and
  • an 8 MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture

The HUAWEI Mate 40 will be available in five colour options (from left to right) – Mystic Silver, White, Black, Green, Yellow.

It has a launch price of €899 with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage.
