People are sharing an article (archive) by The People’s Voice (formerly NewsPunch), which claimed that the WEF just ordered world governments to arrest people who oppose the climate change narrative!

The World Economic Forum has ordered government’s to begin arresting citizens who oppose the man-made climate change narrative in a bid to persuade the masses that ‘global boiling‘ is a real danger.

Truth : WEF Did Not Order Govts To Arrest Climate Change Deniers!
This is yet another example of fake news created / promoted by The People’s Voice, and here are the reasons why…
Fact #1 : WEF Did Not Order Governments To Arrest Anyone
Let me start by pointing out that the WEF (World Economic Forum) did not order anyone to arrest climate change deniers, or people who oppose the fact that human activities have caused global warming.
If the WEF actually did that – it would have shocked the whole world, not only reported widely by the mainstream media, but criticised by people and governments. Yet, there was no such outrage… because it never happened!
In addition – no government has ever arrested and/or jailed climate change deniers for refusing to accept the fact that human activities are causing climate change.
Unsurprisingly, The People’s Voice article offered no evidence to back up its claim that the WEF ordered governments to arrest people!
Fact #2 : WEF Cannot Order Governments To Do Anything
I should also point out that the WEF cannot order any country to do anything. It is merely an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) that focuses on public-private sector collaboration.
The WEF has no power over world leaders, beyond its lobbying and influencing efforts. The WEF may be an influential lobbying organisation, but it cannot order any government to do anything. That’s just silly.

Fact #3 : Jim Dale Does Not Work For WEF
The People’s Voice article suggests that Jim Dale represents the WEF in some capacity. However, that’s not true.
Jim Dale (LinkedIn profile) is an expert meteorologist, who founded the British Weather Services in 1987. He does not work for the World Economic Forum, not represent its views.
Jim Dale does not appear to be a WEF Young Global Leader either – he’s not in the alumni list. The link used by The People’s Voice as “evidence” only leads to a LinkedIn post in which he shared a WEF post about El Niño.
If that’s the criteria for being a WEF Young Global Leader, then everyone sharing a WEF post would automatically become a WEF Young Global Leader! How silly!
Fact #4 : The People’s Voice Is Known For Fake News
The People’s Voice is the current name for NewsPunch, which possibly changed its name because its brand has been so thoroughly discredited after posting numerous shocking but fake stories.
Founded as Your News Wire in 2014, it was rebranded as NewsPunch in November 2018, before becoming The People’s Voice. A 2017 BuzzFeed report identified NewsPunch as the second-largest source of popular fake news on Facebook that year.
Its articles have been regularly debunked as fake news, so you should never share anything from NewsPunch / The People’s Voice. Here are some of its fake stories that I fact checked earlier:
