Did thirteen Sarawak Members of Parliament fight to protest against GPS joining with PN (Perikatan Nasional) to form the federal government of Malaysia?!
Take a look at the viral videos, and find out what the facts really are!
Claim : Sarawak MPs Fought To Protest GPS Joining PN!
Two videos of men fighting in a conference hall has gone viral, along with this message (with machine translation into English) :

1. Willie Mongin (P198 Puncak Borneo, PBB)
2. Richard Riot Jaem (P199 Serian, SUPP)

Truth : Sarawak MPs Did NOT Fight To Protest GPS Joining PN!
That is yet another example of FAKE NEWS circulating on WhatsApp and social media, and here are the reasons why…
Fact #1 : Videos Were Of Altercation In Indonesia, Not Malaysia
The two viral videos are genuine, and occurred today – 22 November 2022. However, the videos were not recorded in Sarawak, Malaysia; but in Solo, Indonesia.
To be specific, the videos were recorded at the Musyawarah Nasional Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (Munas HIPMI) which was held at Hotel Alila, in Solo, Indonesia.
According to CNBC Indonesia, several participants of the National Conference of Young Indonesian Entrepreneurs fought after a disagreement on who should chair the conference.
Fact #2 : GPS Will Leave It To The Agong To Decide
Many Sarawak Members of Parliament have made it known that they do not want to work together with Perikatan Nasional, because of its PAS component party.
However, they did not need to physically “fight” anyone to get their point across, because earlier today (22 November 2022), GPS had already issued a public statement (with our English translation):
GPS has submitted a proposal to establish the Government of Malaysia from a coalition consisting of PN, BN, GPS and GRS which represents the inclusiveness of Malaysian society consisting of various races and religions.
Given the political turmoil in Peninsular Malaysia, GPS is of the opinion that the people’s mandate should be respected.
Therefore, GPS submits to the wisdom of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in accordance with the powers allocated to His Majesty in the Malaysian Constitution to appoint a Prime Minister who will lead a strong government to govern the country.
GPS insists that the interests of the country are prioritized and the establishment of a stable government takes into account the interests of the people and the country above personal interests.
In other words – there is NO NEED for anyone in GPS to fight over joining Perikatan Nasional. They have already announced that they are leaving it to the YDP Agong to decide for them.
