F1 2019 + World War Z + Strange Brigade Benchmark Results

F1 2019

F1 2019 is a new racing game by Codemasters, released on 28 June 2019.

We tested it on three resolutions at the Ultra High settings :

  • 1080p : 1920 x 1080
  • 1440p : 2560 x 1440

1080p Gaming Resolution

Impressive performance at 1080p! The PowerColor Radeon RX 5500 XT was 33% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060, and came within 6% of the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER!

Notably, it was just 11% slower than the Radeon RX Vega 64, at least in F1 running at 1080p.

1440p Gaming Resolution

It did well at the 1440p resolution, delivering an average frame rate in excess of 60 fps – 43% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060. and coming within 10% of the Radeon RX Vega 64!

However, it was now 22% slower than GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER.

 

World War Z

Based on the 2013 movie, World War Z is a relatively new third-person shooter game, released in April 2019.

We tested it on three resolutions using the Vulkan API at the Ultra High settings :

  • 1080p : 1920 x 1080
  • 1440p : 2560 x 1440

Note : This game is known to be highly optimised for AMD Radeon cards.

Look at that! The PowerColor Radeon RX 5500 XT actually beat the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, and was 30.5% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060!

When we kicked up the resolution, the PowerColor Radeon RX 5500 XT faltered a bit. It was now slightly (4.2%) slower than the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER.

On the other hand, it remained 30% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060.

 

Strange Brigade

Strange Brigade is also a third-person shooter game, released in August 2018.

We tested it on three resolutions using the Vulkan API at the Ultra High settings :

  • 1080p : 1920 x 1080
  • 1440p : 2560 x 1440

At 1080p, the PowerColor Radeon RX 5500 XT was 17% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060, but a full 20% slower than the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER.

The PowerColor Radeon RX 5500 XT managed to deliver an average frame rate ih excess of 60 fps – 22% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060.
