Did China Lock Down Shanghai To Spite US Over Ukraine?!

Did China Lock Down Shanghai To Spite US Over Ukraine?!

Did China lock down Shanghai, not to fight COVID-19, but to spite US companies over the Ukraine war?

Take a look at the viral article, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : China Locked Down Shanghai To Spite US Over Ukraine War!

People are sharing an article by Kanthan Pillay, which claimed that China locked down Shanghai not to fight COVID-19 but to spite US companies over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

It’s a rather long post, so feel free to skip to the next section for the facts…

Shanghai Lockdown Not Because Of Covid -19!!

Two weeks after Russia’s forces moved into Ukraine, China locked down Shanghai.

Let me hit you with some bullet points:

More than 800 multinational corporations have regional headquarters in Shanghai . Among them, 121 are Fortune Global 500 companies, including Apple, Qualcomm, General Motors, Pepsico.

More than 70 000 foreign companies have offices in Shanghai. More than 24 000 of these are Japanese.

Truth : China Did NOT Lock Down Shanghai To Spite US Over Ukraine War!

I have read many conspiracy theories about China and the Ukraine War, but this has to be one of the stupidest I have read to date.

I cannot believe I have to actually explain why China did not lock down Shanghai just to spite US companies over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

But here we go…

Fact #1 : China Has Been Locking Down Cities Since 2020

First, I should point out that China has been locking down cities since the COVID-19 pandemic started in Wuhan.

This isn’t a new tactic. China locks down entire cities as part of their COVID Zero policy.

In fact, China locked down 4 additional cities in the first two months of 2022, before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine :

  • 4 January : Yuzhou, Henan province
  • 11 January : Anyang and Zhengzhou, Henan province
  • 7 February : Baise, Jilin province

It is therefore ridiculous for Kanthan Pillay to claim that China locked down Shanghai to spite US companies.

Fact #2 : Shanghai’s COVID-19 Outbreak Began On 28 February

Ironically, Shanghai’s COVID-19 outbreak began on the same day Russia chose to invade Ukraine – 28 February 2022.

I’m surprised Kanthan Pillay did not suggest that the Chinese introduced the Shanghai outbreak as part of a false flag operation to spite US companies. LOL!

Fact #3 : Shanghai Lockdown Only Started A Month Later

Kanthan Pillay falsely claimed that China locked down Shanghai two weeks after Russia invaded Ukraine. Why two weeks? Why not immediately?

In any case, Shanghai only adopted “area-separated and batch-separated control” on 28 March 2022 – a month after their COVID-19 outbreak started, and a month after Russia invaded Ukraine.

Only a week later – on 5 April 2022, did Shanghai put the entire city under lockdown.

Read more : Did US Refuse WHO Investigation Of Fort Detrick?!

Fact #4 : Hong Kong Has More Regional HQs Than Shanghai

In his first “bullet point”, Kanthan Pillay said that more than 800 multinational corporations have their regional headquarters in Shanghai.

What he does not point out to you is that Hong Kong has almost twice as many regional headquarters as Shanghai – 1,457 as of 2021.

If the Chinese wanted to “attack” US companies by targeting their regional headquarters, they would do better to lock down Hong Kong.

But wait – Hong Kong is still NOT under lockdown, even with a massive surge of Omicron cases.

Fact #5 : Regional HQ Not As Important As Factories

Kanthan Pillay does not seem to understand that regional headquarters are not as critical to US companies as the factories that produce goods for them.

Many employees of these regional headquarters can conduct their work from home, even hold meetings virtually from anywhere in the world. So using regional headquarters and design centres as examples of Chinese sabotage is stupid.

Factories, on the other hand, cannot produce goods virtually. Hence, factories that produce goods for US companies are far more important than regional HQs and design centres.

Fact #6 : Shanghai Lockdown Affects All Companies

Kanthan Pillay is apparently unaware thatChina’s lockdown of Shanghai is not limited to US citizens or companies.

The Shanghai lockdown affects all residents, whether they are Chinese citizens or foreigners. Similarly, Chinese companies are affected just as badly as their Western counterparts.

Even more importantly – there are far more Chinese companies in Shanghai than Western companies. More Chinese citizens are being employed by Chinese companies in Shanghai, than Western companies.

If China intentionally locked down Shanghai to spite US companies, they would be sacrificing their own economy to do that.

The Chinese are not quite so stupid as to cut off their noses, just to spite their own faces.

Read more : Is Malaysia Going To Supply Russia With Semiconductors?!

Fact #7 : TSMC Shanghai Fab Is Not State Of Art

Kanthan Pillay also seems to be unaware that the TSMC plant in China is not state of the art, and does not manufacture 7 nm or 5 nm chips as he alleged.

The TSMC Fab 10 foundry in Shanghai was completed around the end of 2004, and produces 8-inch wafers using old 0.25 micron and 0.35 micron processes from the 1990s.

Fact #8 : Shanghai Semiconductor Companies Not Affected By Lockdown

Despite the entire city of Shanghai being under strict lockdown, its semiconductor companies continued to maintain full production.

They managed to achieve this through closed-loop systems, where most employees work on-site while others work remotely from home.

Both TSMC and SMIC say that they are maintaining full production in Shanghai using such closed-loop systems.

Fact #9 : Companies Can Shift To Other Countries

Kanthan Pillay ludicrously believe that China shut down Shanghai to deliver “a body blow to global giants in the US sphere of influence“.

Multinational companies, especially those from the West, can and have shifted to other countries or states, if conditions become unfavourable.

Some have already started shifted production from China to Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia.

If China did really do this just to spite US companies, it would be one more reason to shift their operations to other countries. It’s not like they can only build factories in China.

Fact #10 : Chinese Sacrifice Will Not Help Russia

What Kanthan Pillay does not explain is WHY on Earth would China sacrifice its own people and economy to help Russia?

And how does crippling Shanghai’s economy help Russia? Sure, Tesla will miss its production target… again, but so what?

These are public-listed companies, not the US government. Whatever happens to these companies won’t have a material effect on the US government, only its shareholders.

Needless to say – it won’t sway Western sanctions on Russia, and it certainly won’t help Russia in any way.

Read more : What Should China Worry About Russia-Ukraine War?

Fact #11 : Western Economies Are Still Doing Fine

Kanthan Pillay ended his article by claiming that such actions by Russia and China have “brought the economies of the Western powers to a grinding halt“.

I have no idea what he has been smoking, but it must be some fantastic shit, because none of the Western economies are remotely close to collapsing!

In fact, the US Fed just made the biggest interest rate increase in 22 years, announcing a 0.5% interest rate hike to tackle inflation.

Other Western economies are poised to similarly raise their interest rates. They would not be raising interest rates if their economies were collapsing as Pillay alleged.

The Kanthan Pillay article is nothing more than a meaningless self-masturbatory fantasy.

Unfortunately, it’s being widely shared by the Chinese 50 Cent Army (wumao, 五毛) and pro-CCP netizens.

Please help us FIGHT FAKE NEWS by sharing this fact check article out!

Malaysia : No More COVID-19 Test / Insurance For Travellers!

Travellers to Malaysia will NO LONGER be required to undergo pre-departure and on-arrival testing for COVID-19, or purchase travel insurance!

Malaysia : No More COVID-19 Test For Most Travellers!

On 27 April 2022, the Malaysia Minister of Health Khairy Jamaluddin announced a wide range of COVID-19 liberalisation moves :

Starting Sunday, May 1, 2022, these groups of travellers will NO LONGER be required to undergo pre-departure testing and on-arrival testing for COVID-19!

  • Fully-vaccinated individuals who are 13 years or older
  • Individuals who recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6-60 days
  • Individuals who are 12 years or younger, regardless of vaccination status

This ruling applies to both Malaysian citizens, as well as foreigners, including those performing the Hat and even foreign workers.

Please note that ALL travellers must still submit information through the Travellers option in MySejahtera, and obtain the Travellers digital card.

Travellers who are 13 years or older, and are not yet fully vaccinated, must continue with the existing testing and quarantine protocol :

  • Not vaccinated with medical exemption : pre-departure PCR test within 2 days, professional RTK-Ag within 24 hours of arrival, no quarantine.
  • Partially-vaccinated / unvaccinated (13-17 yo) : pre-departure PCR test within 2 days, professional RTK-Ag within 24 hours of arrival, no quarantine.
  • Partially vaccinated / unvaccinated : pre-departure PCR test within 2 days, professional RTK-Ag within 24 hours of arrival, 5-day quarantine.
  • Partially vaccinated / unvaccinated post COVID-19 : pre-departure professional RTK-Ag within 2 days (or Fit To Travel letter if hospitalised), professional RTK-Ag within 24 hours of arrival, 5-day quarantine.

Travellers who test positive on arrival in Malaysia will be asked to undergo a professional RTK-Ag test on-the-spot.

To make it easier for you to understand, I created this table to summarise the new rules :

Vaccination Status Pre-Departure On Arrival Additional Test
or Quarantine

* By year of birth
** Also professional RTK-Ag if recovered from COVID-19 infection 6-60 days before departure
*** FTT = Fit To Travel

Malaysia : No More COVID-19 Insurance For Foreign Travellers!

Foreign travellers were earlier required to purchase COVID-19 and travel insurance with coverage of at least US$20,000 before travelling to Malaysia.

Only these groups are earlier exempted from the requirement to purchase COVID-19 and travel insurance :

  • Fully-vaccinated citizens of Singapore or Malaysia
  • Fully-vaccinated permanent residents of Singapore or Malaysia
  • Fully-vaccinated Long-term Pass Holders of Singapore or Malaysia

That changes from Sunday, May 1, 2022 onwards – the US$20K travel insurance requirement is NO LONGER REQUIRED for ALL foreign travellers!

So foreigners can travel to Malaysia without that additional cost. Of course, getting travel insurance is always a good idea.

Malaysia : Face Mask No Longer Required Outdoors!

Malaysia just announced that you will NO LONGER be required to wear a face mask while you are outdoors!

Here is what you need to know!

Malaysia : Face Mask No Longer Required Outdoors!

On 27 April 2022, the Malaysia Minister of Health Khairy Jamaluddin announced a wide range of COVID-19 liberalisation moves :

Starting Sunday, May 1, 2022, all individuals – irrespective of vaccination status – will NO LONGER be required to wear a face mask while outdoors.

That said, the Malaysia Ministry of Health strongly recommends that you continue to wear a face mask outdoors, if possible. It will just be optional, and no longer mandatory.

However, please note that you are still required to wear a face mask whenever you enter an indoor premise (including shopping malls, schools and offices) or public transport (including e-hailing rides).

The government will continue to enforce the face mask mandate for indoor premises and public transport, except for these indoor situations :

  • performing heavy exercises (like in a gym)
  • alone within a specific space (like in your own office)
  • while you are eating or drinking
  • while you are giving a speech or presentation
  • while you are performing on stage

The Health Minister stressed the importance of wearing the face mask indoors, and on public transport, as ventilation is not as good as outdoors.

Even though it is not mandatory, the Malaysia Ministry of Health strongly recommends that you wear a face mask while in crowded situations outdoors (like at a Ramadan bazaar or a stadium).

They also strongly recommend that you wear a face mask if you are symptomatic, or are about to visit vulnerable individuals like the elderly, or people who are immunocompromised.

Crypto Boom Scam Alert : Fake Celebrity Endorsements!

Please watch out for the Crypto Boom scam involving fake celebrity endorsements, and warn your family and friends!

Crypto Boom Scam Alert : Fake Celebrity Endorsements!

You may have seen advertisements and posts on Facebook and Twitter, claiming that certain celebrities are sharing the secrets of their success.

Here is a recent example involving Jono Armstrong and Tony Fernandes. It’s an extremely long post, so feel free to skip to the next section for the facts!

NEWS THAT SENT SHOCKWAVES: Jono Armstrong And Tony Fernandes Partnership Is Shaking The Financial World And Big Banks Are Terrified

Big banks are loosing their chokehold of the financial markets. Malaysian citizens are from what private investment banks want off the market. Is it a real deal?

Crypto Boom : Yet Another Cryptocurrency Scam

Crypto Boom appears to be yet another “automated trading app”, claiming to use a trading robot to generate “daily ROI of up to 60%”.

Cryptocurrency is unregulated, and these cryptocurrency trading apps are of unknown provenance and ownership.

So unless proven otherwise, you should consider such cryptocurrency apps as SCAMS, including Crypto Boom for these reasons…

Fact #1 : That Malaysiakini Article Is Fake

There is no such Malaysiakini article. It’s completely FABRICATED. You can search Malaysiakini’s website if you don’t believe me.

The website it made to look like Malaysiakini, but does not have a Malaysiakini link, but an AWS cloud server link.

https://malaysia2022.s3.ap-south-1.amazonaws.com/MalaysiaJono.html

The Malaysia2022 website does not even exist. The only page on that server slice appears to be that MalaysiaJono.html page.

Fact #2 : Tony Fernandes Never Partnered With Jono Armstrong

As far as we can tell – Tony Fernandes has never met Jono Armstrong, much less partnered with him to bring Crypto Boom to Malaysia.

There was no such interview of Tony Fernandes and Jono Armstrong on Selamat Page Malaysia. Neither was there ever a threatening call by Farid Alias – the Group President and CEO of Maybank.

Fact #2 : Crypto Boom Is A Technology, Marketing + Advertising Service

While Crypto Boom claims to be an automated trading software that can give you “an average daily ROI of up to 60%“, their fine print states otherwise.

If you scroll down to the bottom of their official website, they clarified that they are merely a “technology, marketing and advertising service“.

They also clarified that they are “only used as a marketing tool by third party advertisers and brokers to receive more customers“.

Crypto Boom also warned, in their fine print, that when you sign up – “a broker is automatically assigned to you“, but that “it is your obligation to check if the Broker applies to all local rules and regulations“.

Crypto Boom is a software created by a development company and does not provide investment or brokerage services.

Crypto Boom does not gain or lose profits based on your trading results and operates as a technology, marketing and advertising service.

Crypto Boom does not operate as a financial services firm and is only used as a marketing tool by third party advertisers and brokers to receive more customers. When you signup to Crypto Boom a broker is automatically assigned to you.

It is your obligation to check if the Broker applies to all local rules and regulations and is regulated in your jurisdiction and is allowed to receive customers from your location. If you find out the Broker that was assigned to you is not duly regulated in your jurisdiction please contact us using the support menu in the software.

Fact #3 : No Celebrity Has Endorsed Crypto Boom

You may see other variants of this fake news, localised to the media in your country, with different celebrities endorsing Crypto Boom.

The truth is – no celebrity or business person of any note has ever publicly endorsed Crypto Boom.

If you do a quick online search, you will note that those celebrities have never mentioned Crypto Boom, much less endorsed it.

The fake story claims that Crypto Boom is backed by Richard Branson, Elon Musk and Bill Gates among others, but Crypto Boom themselves admitted that all those “rumours” are false.

The picture of Richard Branson and Bill Gates that was used in the fake Crypto Boom article was not taken at CES 2022. It was taken at the Grand Challenges Annual Meeting, in London on 26 October 2016.

This is the same kind of fake celebrity endorsements that drive the marketing campaigns of other cryptocurrency scams like Bitcoin Revolution.

Read more : Bitcoin Revolution Fake Celebrity Endorsements Exposed!

Fact #4 : SEC Warned About Such Scams

Many financial regulatory agencies like the SEC are warning investors and the public about fraudulent digital asset and “crypto” trading websites.

There have been many cases of people getting defrauded by such “get rich quick” schemes, including pump-and-dump and rug pull scams.

The SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy (OIEA) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Office of Customer Education and Outreach (CFTC) warn investors to scrutinize investment opportunities through websites purporting to operate advisory and trading businesses related to digital assets. These websites often contain “red flags” of fraud including claims of high guaranteed returns and promises that the investments carry little or even no risk.

SEC and CFTC staff have recently observed investment scams where fraudsters tout digital asset or “cryptocurrency” advisory and trading businesses. In some cases, the fraudsters claim to invest customers’ funds in proprietary crypto trading systems or in “mining” farms. The fraudsters promise high guaranteed returns (for example, 20-50%) with little or no risk.

After the investors make an investment, typically using a digital asset such as Bitcoin, the fraudsters in some cases stop communicating with the investors altogether. These fraudsters can quickly send your money overseas, with little chance of you being able to get it back. Sometimes the fraudsters direct investors to pay additional costs (such as purported taxes) to withdraw fake “profits” earned from the investment. This is an example of an advance fee fraud scam, where investors are asked to pay a bogus fee in advance of receiving proceeds, money, stock, or warrants.

If anyone tells you that their software or trading service will automatically generate you high ROI, without effort or risk, that’s a scam.

Anyone who develops such a magical system does not need you to invest – they would be keeping it to themselves, and making BILLIONS with no effort or risk.

Please help us fight against such scams – SHARE THIS FACT CHECK with your family and friends!

Is Malaysia Going To Supply Russia With Semiconductors?!

Is Malaysia preparing to break Western sanctions, and supply Russia with electronics and semiconductors?!

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : Malaysia Preparing To Supply Russia With Semiconductors!

People are sharing a GizChina article that claims that Malaysia is preparing to supply Russia with electronics and semiconductors against Western sanctions!

Here is what the article says… It’s long so please feel free to skip to the next section for the facts…

It looks like Malaysia is prepping to supply electronics and semiconductors to Russia amid the country’s invasion of Ukraine. This piece of information has been confirmed by the Malaysian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Bala Chandran Tharman.

Truth : Malaysia NOT Preparing To Supply Russia With Semiconductors!

The truth is – GizChina made up this story, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : Mahathir Is No Longer Prime Minister Of Malaysia

GizChina does not seem to be aware that Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has not been the Prime Minister of Malaysia since he stepped down on 24 February 2020.

They hilariously used the photo of Dr. Mahathir with Russian President Vladimir Putin that was taken at the 33rd ASEAN Summit in Singapore, in 2018.

Mahathir wasn’t even mentioned in their article. They could have used a photo of the Malaysian Ambassador to Russia, Bala Chandran Tharman…

Please don’t tell them they thought that this was a picture of the Malaysian Ambassador to Russia with Putin…

Fact #2 : GizChina Offered No Evidence

GizChina offered ZERO evidence that Malaysia is preparing to go against Western sanctions, and supply Russia with semiconductors.

The writer, Vinay Patel, claimed that “this piece of information has been confirmed by the Malaysian ambassador to the Russian Federation, Bala Chandran Tharman“.

However, he offered no evidence to back up that claim. There was no link to any statement, or a quote of Bala Chandran confirming that Malaysia would be supplying Russia with semiconductors.

Fact #3 : Bala Chandran Did Not Say Malaysia Will Supply Russia With Semiconductors

Despite other sources claiming that Bala Chandran made that claim to RIA Novosti and Sputnik News, I could find no reference in their official websites.

The only legitimate news source I could find was a Bernama report on 23 April 2022, which stated :

In another development, Bala Chandran believes Malaysia would consider an opportunity to sell semiconductors and electronics to Russia.

“The Malaysian industry is market-oriented and I am absolutely sure that any request from the Russian party concerning such products will be considered,” the ambassador said.

He stressed that he was not aware of any current talks on the issues between the two countries.

Bala Chandran, as far as I can tell, never said that Malaysia would go against Western sanctions, and actually supply Russia with semiconductors.

He only said that “Malaysia would consider” the “opportunity to sell semiconductors and electronics to Russia“.

This is no different from a lady telling you that “she would consider” going out on a date with you. That could possibly happen, but it does NOT mean she actually agreed to go out on a date with you.

Fact #4 : Malaysia Is A Democracy With A Market Economy

Bala Chandran also pointed out that the Malaysian market is “market-oriented“. Malaysia has a market economy, and is not controlled by the government.

Malaysia is also a democratic country, not an autocratic / authoritarian state like China, where the government has massive power to control private / public enterprises.

In short, the Malaysian government cannot and does not dictate who Malaysian companies should sell to. Even if Malaysia wanted to sell semiconductors to Russia, it cannot simply order companies to do so.

Bala Chandran also clarified, he isn’t aware of any ongoing conversations at the government level. In other words, the Malaysian government itself has made no effort to sell or market semiconductors to Russia.

Fact #5 : Malaysia Does Not Own Semiconductor Companies

Malaysia has a number of homegrown semiconductor companies that provide critical support to multinational corporations like Intel, AMD, Agilent, Renata, Osram, Infineon and Broadcom.

However, they are private and public-listed companies and not owned by the Malaysian government, or beholden to it. Practically all of them have ties to Western companies that have to comply with Western sanctions against Russia.

Therefore, the Malaysian government cannot dictate who these companies should supply their products and services to. It can only say that “any request from the Russian party concerning such products will be considered“, and nothing more.

Fact #6 : Even Chinese Companies Are Avoiding Russia

Despite China coming out against economic sanctions imposed on Russia, Chinese companies are studiously avoiding breaking Western sanctions.

Even Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, explicitly said that “China is not a party to the crisis, nor does it want the sanctions to affect China.

Companies placed under US sanctions, for example, will have all of their US assets and banned from trading with US companies.

If China does not dare to break Western sanctions against Russia, do you really expect Malaysia to break them? Do you expect private and public-listed companies to break Western sanctions?

As a warning shot, Singapore electronics wholesaler Alexsong Pte Ltd. was placed under US sanctions for facilitating “transactions that helped Russia evade sanctions“.

The truth is, for most companies, the Russian market is much too small to risk losing access to Western markets, capital and technologies.

Zoom Ramps Up APAC Team For Era Of Flexibility!

Zoom just announced that they ramped up their APAC team to meet demands for what they call the Era of Flexibility!

Zoom On The Era Of Flexibility In APAC!

On 26 April 2022, Zoom Video Communications, Inc (NASDAQ: ZM) announced that they just ramped up their senior leadership team for APAC, as well as key business momentum updates for the Asia Pacific region.

This announcement comes as APAC undergoes a critical transformation into a hybrid future, driving demand for secure, seamless, and connected experiences across virtual and physical channels. This is accompanied by an explosion of digital-native organisations born in the digital age and in the cloud, underpinned by the rise of a generation who has grown up in the presence of modern information technology.

Zoom believes that their capabilities across meetings, chat, phone, rooms, events and contact centre – all within a video-first paradigm – will help to address these evolving needs and provide a unified platform experience.

While customers desire hyper-personalisation and total convenience across virtual and physical touchpoints, the integration of video capabilities via the Zoom platform has allowed a range of organisations, spanning a variety of sectors including healthcare, education, and financial institutions, to reimagine the customer journey.

To meet employee demand for greater flexibility and freedom of choice, Zoom will also enable the ‘work-from-anywhere’ workforce, providing the technology required for enhanced collaboration, productivity, and inclusivity in hybrid teams.

Zoom Ramps Up APAC Team For Era Of Flexibility!

To keep up with demand of what they called the Era of Flexibility, Zoom announced several new additions to their senior leadership team in key APAC markets :

  • Lucas Lu, Head of Asia (ASEAN, South Korea, Hong Kong SAR, and Taiwan). Lu joins Sameer Raje, General Manager and Head, India and SAARC, and Michael Chetner, Head of ANZ to drive business traction in the respective territories within APAC. Lu is an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, serving multiple leadership roles in global organisations across the technology, oil and gas and telecommunications sectors.
  • Cathy Yum, Head of Marketing, APAC, brings two decades of experience in building high-performing teams and delivering business goals and objectives for some of the world’s biggest technology giants. Yum plays a pivotal role in driving Zoom’s go-to-market strategies.
  • Gina Kuek, APAC Leader, People Experience Business Partner, comes with a wealth of experience in developing people and creating positive workplace cultures, and will champion Zoom’s culture of care as it expands across Asia.
  • Jacob Pereira, Head of Partners, APAC, is responsible for Zoom’s partner ecosystem and overall channel growth in the region. He has served in senior leadership positions in high performing technology companies.
  • Raj Natarajan, Head of Customer Success, APAC, comes with a proven track record of driving innovation and transforming business outcomes with some of the world’s most successful brands. In his current role, Natarajan oversees Zoom’s customer success initiatives in the region with a strong team of Customer Success Managers.

Zoom is also accelerating the region’s innovation and helping organisations create and grow their businesses on the Zoom platform. In APAC, these organisations include Australian retail platform Brauz; Vietnam’s business communication platform GapoWork; Singapore-headquartered ed-tech platform LingoAce; and Indonesia’s largest cellular operator Telkomsel.

Through the Zoom Developer Platform, developers, platform integrators, service providers, and customers are able to easily build apps and integrations, or integrate Zoom’s core technology into their products and services to deliver enriched video experiences to their end users.

Beyond its core video communications offering of Zoom Meetings and Zoom Webinars, Zoom has seen strong demand in the region for products like Zoom Rooms, Zoom Phone, and Zoom Events. In FY22Q4, Zoom closed its largest Zoom Rooms deal in APAC with a customer deploying more than 3,300 Zoom Rooms to drive hybrid work across their offices.

IBM z16 : Industry’s First Quantum-Safe System Explained!

IBM just introduced the z16 system, powered by their new Telum processor with an integrated AI accelerator!

Take a look at the z16, and find out why it is the industry’s first quantum-safe system!

IBM z16 : Industry’s First Quantum-Safe System!

On 25 April 2022, IBM officially unveiled their new z16 system in Malaysia – the industry’s first quantum-safe system.

IBM Vice President for Worldwide Sales of IBM Z and LinuxONE, Jose Castano, flew to Kuala Lumpur, to give us an exclusive briefing on the new z16 system, and tell us why it is the industry’s first quantum-safe system.

IBM Z and LinuxONE Security CTO Michael Jordan also briefed us on why quantum-safe computing will be critical for enterprises, as quantum computing improves.

Thanks to its Telum processor, the IBM z16 system delivers low and consistent latency for embedding AI into response time-sensitive transactions. This can enable customers to leverage AI inference to better control the outcome of transactions before they complete.

For example, they can leverage AI inference to mitigate risk in Clearing & Settlement applications, to predict which transactions have high risk exposure, and highlight questionable transactions, to prevent costly consequences.

In a use-case example, one international bank uses AI on IBM Z as part of their credit card authorization process instead of using an off-platform inference solution. As a result, the bank can detect fraud during its credit card transaction authorisation processing.

The IBM z16 will offer better AI inference capacity, thanks to its integrated AI accelerator offering up to 1 ms of latency, expanding use cases that include :

  • tax fraud and organised retail theft detection
  • real-time payments and alternative payment methods, including cryptocurrencies
  • speed up business or consumer loan approvals

As the industry’s first quantum-safe system, the IBM z16 is protected by lattice-based crypto graphs – an approach for constructing security primitives that help protect data and systems against current and future threats.

IBM z16 : Powered By The New Telum Processor!

The IBM z16 is built around the new IBM Telum processor, which is specifically designed for secure processing, and real-time AI inference.

Here are the key features of the IBM Telum processor that powers the new IBM z16 system :

  • Fabricated on the 7 nm process technology
  • Has 8 processor cores, clocked at over 5 GHz
  • Each processor core has a dedicated 32 MB private L2 cache
  • The eight 32 MB L2 cache can form a virtual 256 MB L3 cache, and a 2 GB L4 cache.
  • Transparent encryption of main memory, with 8-channel fault tolerant memory interface
  • Integrated AI accelerator with 6 TFLOPS compute capacity
  • Centralised AI accelerator architecture, with direct connection to the cache infrastructure

The Telum processor is designed to enable extremely low latency inference for response-time sensitive workloads. With planned system support for up to 200 TFLOPs, the AI acceleration is also designed to scale up to the requirements of the most demanding workloads.

Thanks to the Telum processor, the IBM z16 can process 300 billion inference requests per day, with just one millisecond of latency.

Scam Alert : Petronas 50th Anniversary Survey Contest!

Please watch out for the Petronas 50th Anniversary survey contest scam!

Find out why it is just a SCAM, and WARN your family and friends!

Petronas 50th Anniversary Survey Scam Alert!

People are now sharing the Petronas 50th Anniversary messages on WhatsApp :

Petronas 50th Anniversary!

Click to enter to participate in the survey, have a chance to win 2000 Ringgit!

Petronas 50th Anniversary Survey : Why This Is A Scam

Unfortunately, this is yet another survey scam, like the FamilyMart 70th Anniversary scam!

For one thing – Petronas was incorporated on 17 August 1974, so their 50th anniversary would be on 17 August 2024!

Petronas confirmed that this survey is a scam in a Facebook post :

PETRONAS has been made aware of a scam online “survey” conducted supposedly in conjunction with “PETRONAS’ 50th Anniversary”.

We wish to inform that neither PETRONAS nor any of our subsidiaries within the Group of Companies are involved in this “survey”, and we appeal to the public not to respond or take part.

I know many of us are in dire straits during this COVID-19 pandemic, having lost jobs, income or even loved ones.

Unfortunately, scammers are counting on our desperation to prey on us, using the same survey scam they have been using for years :

Now, let me show you how to spot these scams next time!

If you spot any of these warning signs, DO NOT PROCEED and DO NOT SHARE!

Warning Sign #1 : Bad Grammar

Most of these scammers do not have a good command of the English language, so if you spot bad grammar, stay away.

Proper contests or events sponsored by major brands like Petronas will have at least one PR or marketing person who will vet the text before allowing it to be posted.

Warning Sign #2 : Offering You Free Money Or Gifts

Please do NOT be naive. No one is going to give you money or free gifts just to participate in a survey!

Petronas isn’t going to give you FREE money, just because it’s their anniversary.

They are a corporation whose business is to make money, not a charity to give you free money.

Warning Sign #3 : Not Using The Real Jaya Grocer Domain

A genuine Petronas campaign would use their real domain – www.petronas.com.

Or they would run it off the official Petronas page on Facebook – www.facebook.com/petronas/.

If you see nonsensical domains like 0yjjg61.cn, 1eaf1rnbeef.top, ldxqw.bar, etc. that’s a sign of a SCAM!

Warning Sign #4 : Asking You To Forward The Offer

No brand will insist that you must share the offer with 5 groups or 20 friends on WhatsApp.

Do not click to forward their offer to your family and friends. They will not appreciate being scammed with your help!

Warning Sign #5 : Asking You To Download + Register An App

If you click through and joined the fake survey scam, you will eventually be asked to download and register for an app.

This is VERY DANGEROUS. Never agree to download and register for any unknown app from a website.

Always download your apps from an official App Store like Google Play Store (for Android smartphones) and Apple App Store (for iPhones).

Please help us fight scams like this and SHARE this article out!

Will COVID-19 Vaccination Void Your Life Insurance Contract?!

An attorney, Todd Callender, has gone viral after claiming that your COVID-19 vaccination will void your life insurance contract!

Take a look at his claims, and find out what the facts really are!

Todd Callender : COVID-19 Vaccination Will Void Your Life Insurance!

People are sharing a video of Todd Callender, an attorney, who claimed on a TruNews interview that getting the COVID-19 vaccination will void your life insurance contract!

Death By ‘Suicide’: Life Insurance Companies Will Likely Deny Most COVID Jab Claims

Attorney Todd Callender: “The court specifically found that participation in clinical trials is so hazardous that it voids the coverage of the insurance contract. ‘You should have known.’ They treated it, for purposes of the law, as a suicide. The court is saying, ‘Participating in a phase three clinical trial is suicide.’ That’s the conclusion.”

Here is a short transcript of what he said in the video for your reference.

He quotes an unspecified court case that happened “three weeks ago“, where “the judge looked at this and effectively told the person who took the experimental shot – who died – called it a suicide“.

He then goes on to say, “He characterised it as a suicide because you knew, or should have known, that you were taking part in a highly dangerous activity called the Phase 3 clinical trial, and therefore you voided the coverage under the contract. The insurance company does not have to pay that contract.

Truth : COVID-19 Vaccination Will NOT Void Your Life Insurance!

This is yet another example of anti-vaccination FAKE VIDEOS that anti-vaccination activists are concocting to mislead people about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : No Judge Ruled Death From Vaccine As Suicide

Oddly enough, Callender did not specify where this court case occurred, or the exact details of the case that he claimed would be a landmark case.

That’s because – there is no such court case. There is no known court case in which a judge ruled that a person who died after receiving COVID-19 vaccination was considered a suicide.

Fact #2 : Fake Story Originated As Court Case In France

This fake story appears to originate with a right-wing, anti-vaccination German website, which posted a story about a French millionaire who died from the vaccine and had his life insurance voided.

That website claimed that it was originally published by the family’s lawyer, Carlo Alberto Brusa, on his Facebook page.

However, Brusa’s Facebook page has ZERO post about any court case, going all the way back to 27 December 2020 – when COVID-19 vaccinations first kicked off in France.

As far as anyone can tell – this story was completely FABRICATED.

Read more : Did French Court Rule Millionaire’s Vaccine Death As Suicide?!

Fact #3 : There Was No Such Court Case In France

There are several articles and videos – all referencing the Greek or German website, which leads us back to Brusa. And yet, there is ZERO evidence :

  • that a French millionaire actually died from his COVID-19 vaccination.
  • that any insurance company refused to pay a life insurance policy, because the insured died from COVID-19 vaccination.
  • that any French court ruled that a death from vaccination is considered a suicide.
  • of any case or court document regarding the case

If a French court did indeed rule that dying from a COVID-19 vaccine is considered a suicide, it would have been HUGE NEWS with major legal implications, and covered worldwide!

These articles were first posted in January 2022, and more than 3 months later, no one else covered it except for a few small anti-vaccination websites?

That’s because it never happened.

Fact #4 : Vaccines Only Get EUA After Clearing Phase 3 Trials

Callender falsely claimed that the life insurance was voided because that person was considered to have participated in a Phase 3 clinical trial.

That’s not possible, because COVID-19 vaccinations can only be given to the public, AFTER the vaccine has successfully completed its Phase 3 clinical trial, and received either an emergency use authorisation or full approval from a health authority like the US FDA or EMA.

Phase 3 trials, incidentally, ended in 2020 for both the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, and they both received their EUA in December 2020.

I should also point out that the Pfizer vaccine received its full FDA approval on 23 August 2021, while the Moderna vaccine received its full FDA Approval on 31 January 2022.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) also renewed the authorisation for these vaccines :

  • Moderna Spikevax : 4 October 2021
  • Pfizer COMIRNATY : 3 November 2021
  • AstraZeneca Vaxzevria : 9 November 2021
  • Johnson & Johnson Janssen : 3 January 2022

So none of those COVID-19 vaccines are experimental. They have all passed their clinical tests, and have been approved.

Read more : What’s The Difference Between EUA vs Full FDA Approval?

Fact #5 : COVID-19 Vaccines Proven Safe

The COVID-19 vaccines were proven safe and effective in the massive Phase 2/3 trials that involved hundreds of thousands of volunteers.

These COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials are much larger than the usual clinical trials for new drugs or vaccines.

On top of that, they continue to undergo post-marketing surveillance, to catch very rare side effects like myocarditis (risk of less than 1 in million).

With so much clinical data, there is no way any insurance company or court can say that the vaccines are dangerous, or experimental.

Read more : What’s The Difference Between Full FDA Approval vs. EUA?
Read more : Vaccine Myocarditis Risk Less Than 1 In Million!

Fact #6 : COVID-19 Vaccination Will Not Affect Life Insurance

Insurance companies and regulators across the world have come out to publicly state that these claims are FALSE.

They also publicly stated that COVID-19 vaccination will not affect your life insurance.

American Council of Life Insurance (ACLI)

We said it before and, unfortunately, we must say it again because misinformation about life insurance claims and the COVID-19 vaccine continues to spread.

Policyholders should rest assured that nothing has changed in the claims-paying process as a result of COVID-19 vaccinations. Life insurance policies are very clear on how they work, and what cause, if any, might lead to the denial of a claim. A policyholder’s decision to receive or not receive a vaccine for COVID-19 is not one of them. Nothing has changed in life insurers’ claims paying process.

Policyholders should reach out to their life insurance companies, agents or financial professionals for their COVID-related questions. They will be happy to help.

Insurance Control and Resolution Authority of France (ACPR)

The conditions of the death of the insured have no effect on the payment to the beneficiary of the sums paid on a life insurance contract.

Exclusion clauses are provided for contractually… In practice, the risks targeted by the exclusions are not very diversified and, to our knowledge, no contract contains clauses which would make it possible to exclude as a cause of death, the aftermath and consequences of vaccination, or more generally of taking medical treatment, on the prescription of a doctor.

Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA)

Contrary to misinformation being shared online, receiving a COVID-19 vaccine will have no effect on the ability to obtain coverage or benefits from life insurance or supplementary health insurance.

The CLHIA is aware of misinformation that is being spread through social media claiming that individuals who get the vaccine will not be able to get life insurance or may be denied their disability or life insurance benefits. These claims are incorrect and have no basis in fact whatsoever.

Association of British Insurers (ABI)

There are some claims being made that having the Covid-19 vaccine will impact your life insurance cover. This is false.

Receiving a vaccination against Covid-19 will not impact your insurance cover, be it life insurance, private medical insurance or other forms of insurance.

Financial Services Council of Australia (FSC)

The Financial Services Council (FSC) is today reassuring Australians that taking a COVID-19 vaccine will not invalidate life insurance policies despite false rumours suggesting otherwise.

FSC CEO Sally Loane said the false rumours, which have been circulating on social media, incorrectly suggest the COVID-19 vaccine is an “experimental medical treatment” and therefore having the vaccine is a “self-inflicted injury” which could void life insurance policies.

“To be clear – the COVID-19 vaccine is not experimental treatment. Receiving approved treatment from a qualified medical professional at an approved medical facility is not a self-inflicted injury,” Ms Loane said.

“One of the main reasons why people hold life insurance policies is to provide peace of mind for themselves and their families. The FSC would like to reassure Australians that when they get vaccinated, their life insurance will be there for them, completely unaffected.

“This scare mongering is wrong, it is entirely inappropriate and it needs to stop immediately.”

In other words, insurance companies in the United States and across the world will not deny payment of a life insurance in the event someone dies from a COVID-19 vaccine.

These statements were posted MONTHS ago… so I have to ask Todd Callender – why do you lie?

Now that you know the facts, please help to fight fake news – SHARE this article out!

And please protect yourself, and your family, by vaccinating them against COVID-19!

Lianhua Qingwen Finally Tumbles Over Efficacy Concerns!

The Chinese medicine Lianhua Qingwen is finally tumbling over concerns about its efficacy against COVID-19.

Find out why it has apparently fallen out of favour with the Chinese government!

Lianhua Qingwen Maker Plunged 10% Over Efficacy Questions

Traditional Chinese medicine company Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical saw its shares skyrocket by over 260% since the COVID-19 pandemic started.

Driving its meteoric rise was its Lianhua Qingwen capsules, sales of which eventually accounted for 42% of their revenue.

That came to a halt on Monday, 18 April 2022, when its shares fell by the maximum daily limit of 10%, over questions of Lianhua Qingwen’s efficacy against COVID-19.

On 13 April 2022, Wang Sicong – a Chinese internet influencer, and son of Dalian Wanda Group chairman, Wang Jianlin, posted a video on Weibo questioning the efficacy of Lianhua Qingwen against COVID-19.

He pointed out that the World Health Organisation (WHO) never recommended using Lianhua Qingwen to treat COVID-19. That slashed the market value of Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical by $1.05 billion on Friday, 15 April 2022.

Then on Sunday, 17 April 2022, the Chinese health platform Dingxiang Yisheng published an article advising the public not to take it to prevent COVID-19.

That triggered a sell-off that saw its market value plunge by the maximum daily limit of 10% in Shenzhen the next day.

Lianhua Qingwen NOT Proven To Work Against COVID-19

Lianhua Qingwen has been heavily promoted by the Chinese government and the Chinese 50 Cent Army (wumao, 五毛), leading to massive sales in the global Chinese diaspora.

It then gained oversized importance when both Hong Kong and Shanghai distributed boxes of these capsules to help stave off the surge of COVID-19 in both cities.

Yet, the mass distribution of Lianhua Qingwen has done nothing to stop the spread of COVID-19 in both cities.

That’s because there never was any evidence that Lianhua Qingwen can treat or prevent COVID-19.

Its main “call to fame” was a small Chinese study conducted early during the pandemic, which showed that it had only a modest effect on symptom recovery :

  • time to recover from fever : 2 days, instead of 3 days
  • time to recover from fatigue : 3 days, instead of 6 days
  • time to recover from coughing : 7 days, instead of 10 days

There was NO DIFFERENCE in the viral load, or the risk of developing severe COVID-19.

Read more : Did US NCBI Confirm Lianhua Qingwen Treats COVID-19?

In other words – Lianhua Qingwen only helped to reduce symptoms, and was no different from taking over-the-counter drugs like paracetamol.

However, it was far more expensive, and had potential side effects from long-term use and counterfeit products capitalising on the hype.

The medicine could cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and rash.

Fang Bangjiang, doctor from Long Hua Hospital of the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said that Lianhua Qingwen has complex ingredients and is mainly suitable for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms of fever and pneumonia but unsuitable for prevention.

Its ingredients will affect the renal system.

Lianhua Qingwen, incidentally, is nothing more than a mix of common herbs :

Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl (Weeping Forsythia) Fruit – 27.41mg, Lonicera japonica Thunb. (Japanese Honeysuckle) Flower – 27.41mg, Gypsum Fibrosum – 27.41mg, Isatis indigotica Fort. (Isatis) Root – 27.41mg, Dryopteris crassirhizoma Nakai (Male Fern) Rhizome and Frond Bases – 27.41 mg, Houttuynia cordata Thunb. (Heartleaf Houttuynia) Aerial Part – 27.41 mg, Pogostemon cablin (Blanco) Benth. (Cablin Patchouli) Aerial Part – 9.40mg, Ephedra sinica Stapf (Ephedra) Herbaceous Stem – 9.14mg, Prunus sibirica L. (Bitter Apricot) Ripe Seeds – 9.14 mg, Rhodiola crenulata (Hook. f. et Thomson) H.Ohba (Bigflower Rhodiola) Root and Rhizome – 9.14mg, Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. (Liquorice) Root and Rhizome – 9.14mg, 1-Menthol – 7.50mg, Rheum palmatum L. (Rhubarb) Root and Rhizome – 5.47mg.

None of its ingredients have been proven to cure COVID-19, although poor quality studies have demonstrated that it is effective in reducing fever. Again, you would get the same effect from the much cheaper and easier-to-obtain paracetamol…

And yes, Forsythia was the fake herbal cure promoted by Jude Law’s character – Alan Krumwiede in the medical thriller – Contagion.

Despite longstanding warnings by health authorities like Singapore’s HSA that Lianhua Qingwen cannot treat or prevent COVID-19, it continues to rack up sales amongst the Chinese diaspora globally.

Credit definitely goes towards active Chinese government promotion, and misinformation created and shared by the Chinese wumao and pro-China activists.

There is no scientific evidence from randomised clinical trials to show that any herbal product, including Lianhua Qingwen products, can be used to prevent or treat COVID-19.

Interestingly, official Chinese outlets like Global Times have now published articles about Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical’s downfall.

In addition, the Chinese government did not censor Wang Sicong’s Weibo video or the Dingxiang Yisheng article.

That suggests that the Chinese government is looking for someone to blame for their failure to contain the massive outbreak of COVID-19 in Shanghai, and Lianhua Qingwen appears to be the perfect scapegoat for their failing Zero COVID policy.

It is sad, but enlightening, to see that the myth of Lianhua Qingwen is finally being broken only because the Chinese government decided to throw it under the bus.

Sinovac / Sinopharm Recipients To Get Second Booster Dose!

Sinovac and Sinopharm recipients will be allowed to get a second booster dose!

Here is what you need to know…

Sinovac / Sinopharm Recipients To Get Second Booster Dose!

On 14 April 2022, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that they will offer a second booster dose to high-risk individuals, to improve their protection against COVID-19!

In addition, they will also offer recipients of the Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines the opportunity to get a second booster dose.

The second booster dose will be the Pfizer COMIRNATY vaccine, and it will be given at least 1 month after the first booster dose for Sinovac / SInopharm recipients.

This second booster dose is optional, and is not compulsory. Your vaccination status will not change, whether you take the second booster dose or not.

However, it will facilitate overseas travel for Sinovac and Sinopharm recipients because many countries do not recognise either vaccines.

Read more : Second Booster Dose Offered To High-Risk Individuals!

Should Sinovac / Sinopharm Recipients Get Second Booster Dose?

If you are a Sinovac or Sinopharm recipient and need to travel overseas, you should definitely get the second booster dose.

Both vaccines have been EUA-qualified by the WHO. However, quite a number of countries do not recognise the Sinovac or Sinopharm vaccines, due to their lower efficacy.

The massive RECoVaM study, for example, showed that the Sinovac vaccine’s limited efficacy quickly waned after just 2 months. And that wasn’t even against the highly-contagious Omicron variant.

Even Sinovac recipients who receive a Pfizer booster dose may not obtain sufficient protection against the Omicron variant. A recent Yale University study showed that Sinovac vaccine recipients will require TWO Pfizer booster doses, to adequately protect against the Omicron variant.

So if you have the opportunity to get the second booster dose, take it. Even if the country you intend to visit recognises the Sinovac / Sinopharm vaccine, you will better protect yourself against COVID-19 by getting the second booster dose.

Did US Steal Gold + Oil From Iraq Worth Trillions Of Dollars?!

Did the US steal tens of trillions of dollars worth of gold and oil from Iraq?

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : US Stole Gold + Oil From Iraq Worth Trillions Of Dollars!

People are sharing pictures of US soldiers posing with gold bars, as evidence that the United States sold gold and oil from Iraq worth tens of trillions of dollars!

These pictures have been revived as part of the information warfare surrounding the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Here the US thieves in Iraq. Bringing democracy aka stealing a country’s gold. Same thing they want to do in Russia. But Russia is no Iraq or Libya.

The #US ransacked and plundered the whole of #Iraq. Banks, museums, all of their gold reserves. The US is the biggest gang of thiefs in the whole history. They have raped most of the planet in the las 50 years. #Ukraine #UkraineRussianWar #UkraineRussiaWar #Russia #Putin #NATO

🇺🇸 “liberates” gold & oil while 🇷🇺 liberates humans.

#Denaƶification & #Demilitarization of #UkroNaƶiLand

Truth : US Did Not Steal Gold + Oil From Iraq At All!

This is yet another example of FAKE NEWS created and/or propagated to deflect criticism of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : US Did Not Steal $30 Trillion Of Iraqi Oil

Claims that the US stole $30 trillion worth of oil from Iraq is false. The United States did lose track of 8.7 billion dollars worth of Iraqi funds though.

After the invasion of Iraq concluded, Iraqi oil was sold to help fund the Development Fund of Iraq (DFI).

Other sources of funds include surplus funds (about USD 10 billion) from the UN Oil-For-Food Program, and the sale of seized Iraqi assets. The United States did not truck away Iraqi oil, as claimed.

In July 2010, the US Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) discovered that the US Department of Defense could not account properly for USD 8.7 billion of DFI funds.

This led the Iraqi Parliament to request the United Nation’s help in demanding that the US return $17 billion of “oil money” that it said was stolen from the Iraqi people :

All the indications are that the institutions of the United States of America committed financial corruption by stealing the money of the Iraqi people, which was allocated to develop Iraq, (and) that it was about $17 billion.
… Our committee decided to send this issue to you … to look into it and restore the stolen money.

There is no evidence that the unaccounted money was repatriated to the United States, or officially taken by the United States.

Even assuming that it was not poor accounting and all of the $8.7 billion was truly stolen, that is a far cry (0.029%) from the $30 trillion that was “allegedly” stolen.

It is also rendered ludicrous by the fact that the United States spent USD 60 billion in the reconstruction of Iraq.

Also consider the fact that Iraqi oil production only reached 4.4 million barrels per day in 2016. Assuming an average sale price of USD 60 per barrel, it would take them 311 years to sell enough oil to make $30 trillion.

Stealing $30 trillion worth of oil would require 1.7 billion oil trucks, or 46,000 of these trucks every day for 100 years!

Fact #2 : US Did Not Steal $20 Trillion Of Iraqi Gold

The United States also did not steal gold from Iraq, certainly not $20 trillion worth of gold!

All those photos of US soldiers with Iraqi gold bars are genuine, but they only show them taking photos with the gold they seized in Iraq.

The Iraqi gold bars (as well as currency and other valuables) that US soldiers seized were transported to the US Army’s headquarters in Kuwait.

There, they were examined by the Secret Service and/or the US Department of Treasury to determine their authenticity and value, before being returned to the Central Iraqi Treasury or the Development Fund of Iraq (DFI).

This is a picture of Lt. Col. Scott Schmidt, who was in charge of the 230th Finance Battalion. The battalion’s job was to seize Iraqi assets like currency, gold bars and other valuables.

In 2003, Iraq had under 6 tonnes of gold reserves, worth less than $70 million. So how can the United States possibly steal 20 trillion dollars worth of gold from Iraq? $20 trillion worth of gold would weigh at least 1,714,285 tonnes in 2003.

Guess how much gold mankind has ever mined in history? Only 190,040 tonnes as of 2019 – which is 11% of what people are claiming that the United States stole from Iraq.

As of October 2019, the value of all the gold in the world was just USD 9.2 trillion – 46% of what the conspiracy theory claims the United States stole from Iraq… and that’s only because gold prices have gone up considerably.

Even with the much higher gold price, it would take an additional 90 years of mining gold before the entire world has $20 trillion worth of gold for the US to steal.

Now that you know the truth, please help us FIGHT FAKE NEWS by sharing this fact check out!

Pfizer Hired 1,800 To Process 158K Vaccine Reports! Should We Worry?

A Pfizer document showed that they hired 600 to 1,800 extra staff to process over 158,000 vaccine adverse event reports!

Find out if it’s really something to worry about!

Pfizer Hired 600 To 1,800 Staff To Process 158K Vaccine Reports?

The Epoch Times joined Children’s Health Defense (CHD) in “revisiting” the bombshell Pfizer document with the infamous 9 pages of adverse events.

This time, they claim to have discovered that Pfizer hired 600 to 1,800 extra full-time employees just to process 158,000 vaccine adverse event reports!

It’s a long post, so feel free to skip to the next section for the truth…

Pfizer Hired 600 Employees Due To ‘Large Increase of Adverse Event Reports’

Pfizer hired 600 employees in the months after its COVID-19 vaccine was authorized in the United States due to the “large increase” of reports of side effects linked to the vaccine, according to a document prepared by the company.

Pfizer has “taken a multiple actions to help alleviate the large increase of adverse event reports,” according to the document. “This includes significant technology enhancements, and process and workflow solutions, as well as increasing the number of data entry and case processing colleagues.”

Pfizer Hired 1,800 To Process 158K Vaccine Reports! Should We Worry?

The Epoch Times tries to frame their coverage as somewhat neutral, but it’s not only somewhat inaccurate, it’s also misleading.

Let’s take a look at the facts…

Fact #1 : FDA Released Document On 17 November 2021

The Epoch Times claimed that the “document was not made public until the Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency sued the FDA“.

That’s factually untrue, as the FDA released that particular document on 17 November 2021, in the very first batch of documents released to PHMPT.

Notably, this document was amongst five batches of documents the FDA released to the PHMPT before the court ruling.

Fact #2 : FDA Could Have Delivered Documents Within 6 Years

All FOIA requests to the FDA are processed by their Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) – a small department with just ten employees, of which only seven people are trained to process FOIA requests.

The FDA has to process 400 other pending requests, not just the PHMPT. So it has a long-standing policy to process FOIA requests in 500-page blocks.

The FDA asked PHMPT to narrow their request by specifying records they don’t require, so they can focus on processing the important documents they need.

The PHMPT, however, insisted that the FDA process and deliver ALL documents related to the approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine – some 329,000 pages!

Their ridiculous request, which included irrelevant documents, would therefore take 75 years IF one assumes that the FDA is capable of only 500 pages a month.

But see – the FDA actually said that they process in blocks of 500 pages, not 500 pages a month. In fact, they were able to deliver 12,000 pages in January 2022 alone.

On average, they were processing close to 5,000 pages per month for the PHMPT, which would mean that they could have finished delivering all 329,000 pages in 5.5 years.

Read more : Did FDA Ask For 75 Years To Release Pfizer Vaccine Data?

Fact #3 : There Were Only Three New Pieces Of Information

Next, I should point out that the FDA only redacted three pieces of information in that “bombshell” Pfizer document (highlighted in red) :

  • To date, Pfizer has onboarded approximately 600 additional full time employees (FTEs).
  • More are joining each month with an expected total of more than 1,800 additional resources by the end of June 2021.
  • It is estimated that approximately 126,212,580 doses of BNT162b2 were shipped worldwide from the receipt of the first temporary authorisation for emergency supply on 01 December 2020 through 28 February 2021.

That’s it. Nothing else was redacted in the original release. Not even the 9 pages of 1,291 adverse events of special interest.

Even without the actual figures, you can already tell from the original (redacted) document that Pfizer was increasing manpower to cope with an unexpected amount of adverse event reports.

Fact #4 : Nothing Shocking Hiring 1800 Extra Employees

The Epoch Times seem to think that it’s shocking that Pfizer hired 600 to 1800 extra employees to process the adverse event reports. What exactly is shocking about that?

As Pfizer explained in Page 6, they increased the number of full-time employees to ensure that all adverse events would be expeditiously processed.

What would be really shocking is if Pfizer tried to delay processing these adverse event reports, by refusing to hire more people.

I’m shocked that The Epoch Times was shocked that Pfizer would do the right thing by increasing manpower to expeditiously process these adverse event reports.

Would the CHD really prefer that Pfizer not increase manpower, and slow-walk the adverse event reports? That would be shocking indeed…

Fact #5 : More Shots, More Publicity = More Adverse Events

The Epoch Times stated that adverse event reports to VAERS “spiked since the vaccines were first cleared“, demonstrating their shocking ignorance after more than a year of public vaccinations.

The number of reported adverse events increases with the number of vaccine doses administered, and with the amount of publicity about potential side effects.

In fact, the adverse event reports are far more likely to be exaggerated, due to the overwhelming amount of public misinformation on the Internet.

In Page 5 of the document, Pfizer themselves pointed out that “the spontaneous reporting system yields reporting proportions not incidence rate“, and is influenced by “awareness” and “litigation“.

In other words, the high number of adverse event reports is likely due to the overwhelming amount of trepidation (and potentially abuse) driven by public misinformation.

Due to greater “awareness”, more people are reporting adverse events to open reporting systems like VAERS and Yellow Card, even if they are unrelated to the vaccine.

Read more : Here’s How Antivaxxers Create Fake News Using VAERS!

Fact #6 : 42,000 Adverse Event Reports Are Not Shocking

While Pfizer may have been caught off-guard by the number of reported adverse events, having 42,000 people reporting some sort of adverse event to open reporting systems isn’t shocking.

The same Pfizer document pointed out that 126 million doses were delivered. Even if just half were administered, that would mean that only 0.068% of vaccine recipients reported any adverse event.

Because vaccines, by nature, trigger our immune system to react to antigens and produce antibodies, they cause side effects like fever, muscle ache, headache, etc. in almost everyone.

You would expect millions of people to report them as as adverse events. But only 42,086 people actually did.

Even if we assume all of those 42,086 reports were genuine, and not falsely reported, that’s hardly shocking.

Fact #7 : Adverse Events Are Not Vaccine Side Effects

As Pfizer noted in Page 6, the large number of adverse event reports (AERs) do not necessarily mean that they are actually caused by the vaccine.

In fact, open reporting systems like VAERS and Yellow Card are notably open to abuse, and false reporting.

That’s why all reported adverse events must be investigated to find out if they are caused by the vaccine (anaphylactic reaction), or not (getting into a car accident).

Even if an adverse event could “potentially” be caused by the vaccine, it must still be confirmed that the vaccine directly caused it, because an anaphylactic reaction (for example) can also occur from a bee sting, or an existing peanut allergy.

Only once an adverse event is confirmed to be caused by the vaccine, is it then a vaccine side effect. Otherwise, it is merely an adverse event, not a side effect.

In other words – the adverse events in the Pfizer vaccine document are not vaccine side effects, until proven otherwise.

Read more : Why Adverse Events of Special Interest Are NOT Side Effects!

Fact #8 : Majority Of Adverse Events Were Not Serious

What the Epoch Times did not mention is that the majority of reported adverse events were not serious. In fact, they were what you would expect from ANY vaccination :

  • Headache : 24.1%
  • Fever : 18.2%
  • Fatigue : 17.4%
  • Chills : 13.1%
  • Vaccination site pain : 12.3%
  • Nausea : 12.3%
  • Myalgia (muscle pain) : 11.7%

And that’s before any effort was even made to determine if they were actually caused by the vaccine, and not caused by a concomitant infection or pre-existing disease, for example.

Fact #9 : No New Safety Concerns Despite 158K Adverse Event Reports

Despite 42,086 people reporting over 158 thousand adverse events, Pfizer’s investigation showed that the “data do not reveal any novel safety concerns or risks“.

Pfizer could only confirm that anaphylaxis is an important risk of the COMIRNATY vaccine.

In other words – the 158K adverse events were weighed, measured… and found wanting. There was NO NEW SAFETY CONCERN with the vaccine!

The Epoch Times is correct in pointing out that heart inflammation, blood clots and anaphylaxis have been linked to COVID-19 vaccines, but interestingly, did not mention that :

  • those risks apply to different vaccines
  • those risks differ according to age groups
  • those risks are rare
  • those risks can be mitigated or treated
  • those risks are far MORE COMMON with COVID-19 infections

Fact #10 : 10K New Pages Were Released

What’s really shocking is that both The Epoch Times and the CHD had to “recycle” this document which was released in the very first batch back in November 2021.

Could they not find anything new to gripe about after digging through the latest batch of 10,000 new pages released by the FDA?

Perhaps actual evidence of Pfizer bribing the FDA with $2.8 million?

SIRIM Certification For Non-Medical Face Mask Postponed!

Just two days after announcing that all non-medical face masks must be SIRIM-certified by 4 July 2022, the government delayed it to 2023!

Here is what you need to know about this new requirement!

Non-Medical Face Mask Must Be SIRIM-Certified By 2023

On 5 April 2022, the Trade Descriptions (Certification & Marking) of Non-Medical Face Mask Order 2022 (download) was gazetted under the Trade Descriptions Act 2011.

It required all non-medical face mask manufacturers and importers to apply for MS SIRIM certification, and labelling from SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd.

This new requirement will ensure that all non-medical face masks sold in Malaysia will comply with safety standards that already exist for respirators and medical face masks.

It will also prevent the dumping of poor quality / substandard face masks in Malaysia, which may not offer adequate protection against COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases.

Just two days after the gazettement, the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi announced that the SIRIM certification for non-medical masks is now postponed to 1 January 2023!

I want to assure consumers to not be overly worried as if this gazettement will cause a price hike. Number one, I already warned manufacturers and importers to not use this as a reason to hike up prices.

Secondly, to users, we will be heading to a time whereby face masks will no longer be mandatory, but before it goes there that is why I announce that we had already fixed July 4 for the enforcement in this gazettement for face masks and after taking into consideration the feedback from all parties, we, this evening, already discussed and have agreed that the enforcement be postponed to January 1, 2023.

SIRIM Requirement For Non-Medical Face Masks From 2023 Onwards

From 1 January 2023 onwards, all non-medical face masks sold in Malaysia must be SIRIM-certified, and have a SIRIM label clearly printed on the box or packaging.

Non-medical face masks (defined as any face mask which covers mouth and nose other than medical face mask regulated under the Medical Device Act 2012 [Act 737]) will have to comply with one of these standards :

  • SIRIM 40,
  • CWA 17553, or
  • AFNOR SPEC S76-001.

Companies that fail to comply, can be fined up to RM200,000 for the first offence, and up to RM500,000 for the second and subsequent offences.

Individuals that fail to comply, can be fined up to RM100,000 and/or imprisoned for up to 3 years for the first offence. For the second and subsequent offences, they can be fined up to RM250,000 and/or imprisoned for up to 5 years.

Please note that this requirement only applies to manufacturers and importers of non-medical face masks.

Despite the social media uproar, individuals will NOT be fined or jailed for wearing a non-medical face mask that is not SIRIM certified.

Always verify the facts first, when you see such social media comments or posts.

SIRIM Certification Process For Non-Medical Face Masks

Manufacturers and importers of non-medical face masks should proceed with the SIRIM certification process, which consists of :

  1. Enquiries
  2. Issuance of Quotation
  3. Application
  4. Document Evaluation
  5. Initial Audit
  6. Sample Selection and Testing
  7. Recommendation and Approval
  8. Purchase of SIRIM Label
  9. Surveillance Audit
  10. Renewal

Here are the application forms for the SIRIM certification of non-medical face masks :

Intel Condemns + Leaves Russia Over Invasion Of Ukraine!

Intel joined over 600 other companies in condemning and leaving Russia over its invasion of Ukraine!

Here is what you need to know…

Intel Condemned Russia Over Invasion Of Ukraine!

A week after Russia invaded Ukraine, Intel issued a press release condemning the invasion, and announcing a stop to all shipments to both Russia and Belarus.

While Belarus did not directly participate in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it continues to be a willing partner in the invasion, allowing Russian troops, tanks and aircraft to attack Ukraine from their territory.

This announcement on 3 March 2022 effectively cut off supply of Intel chips to both countries.

Intel condemns the invasion of Ukraine by Russia and we have suspended all shipments to customers in both Russia and Belarus. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by this war, including the people of Ukraine and the surrounding countries and all those around the world with family, friends and loved ones in the region.

We are working to support all of our employees through this difficult situation, especially those with close ties to this region. We have launched an employee donation and matching campaign through the Intel Foundation that has already raised over $1.2 million for relief efforts, and we are proud of the work our teams in surrounding areas including Poland, Germany and Romania are doing to aid refugees. We will continue to stand with the people of Ukraine and the global community in calling for an immediate end to this war and a swift return to peace.

Intel Leaves Russia Over Invasion Of Ukraine!

After Russia’s initial attempt to seize Kyiv and topple the Ukrainian government failed spectacularly, Russian forces began a wholesale bombardment of Ukrainian cities.

Even worse, it was recently discovered that Russian forces raped and massacred Ukrainian civilians in the town of Bucha.

All those atrocities may have made it untenable for companies like Intel to even maintain a local presence while waiting out the war.

On 5 April 2022, Intel announced that they immediately suspended all business operations in Russia.

It is unknown what will happen to their 1,200 employees in Russia, but Intel says that it is now working to support those employees.

Intel continues to join the global community in condemning Russia’s war against Ukraine and calling for a swift return to peace. Effective immediately, we have suspended all business operations in Russia. This follows our earlier decision to suspend all shipments to customers in Russia and Belarus.

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by this war, particularly the people of Ukraine and the surrounding countries and all those around the world with family, friends and loved ones in the region.

We are working to support all of our employees through this difficult situation, including our 1,200 employees in Russia. We have also implemented business continuity measures to minimize disruption to our global operations.

Intel joins over 600 companies that have withdrawn from Russia, according to the Yale School of Management.

They include major brands like 3M, Adidas, Amazon, Cisco, Ikea, LVMH, Mastercard, McDonald’s, VMware, Visa, Western Union.

Notably, Chinese companies like Alibaba, Didi, HUAWEI, Tencent and Xiaomi continue to operate in Russia.

EU Officially Accepts Malaysia Digital COVID Certificate!

The EU has officially accepted the MySejahtera digital COVID certificate from Malaysia!

Here is what you need to know!

EU Officially Accepts Malaysia Digital COVID Certificate!

On 4 April 2022, the EU Ambassador to Malaysia, Michalis Rokas, announced that Malaysia has officially been connected to the EU Digital COVID Certificate trust framework.

Some great news: The EU 🇪🇺 has accepted Malaysia 🇲🇾 @officialmosti
request for establishing the equivalence between EU’s Digital Covid Certificate and Malaysia’s MySejahtera.

This decision was actually agreed during the EU Commission Implementing Decision 2022/534 on 1 April 2022, but only took effect after it was published in the Official Journal of the European Union, L 105 on 4 April 2022.

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/534 of 1 April 2022 establishing the equivalence, for the purpose of facilitating the right of free movement within the Union, of COVID-19 certificates issued by Malaysia to the certificates issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council.

EU Accepts Malaysia Digital COVID Certificate : What Does It Mean?

But what exactly does it mean by this EU decision to accept Malaysia’s MySejahtera digital COVID certificate?

To help you understand what this means, I created this FAQ :

What Is The EU Digital COVID Certificate?

The EU Digital COVID Certificate is a digital verification system that certifies that the person has

  • been vaccinated against COVID-19, or
  • received a negative test result *, or
  • recovered from COVID-19

The EUDCC basically confirms that the person does not have COVID-19, or has immunity against COVID-19.

* Validity : 72 hours (PCR tests), 48 hours (rapid antigen tests)

It is basically the European Union equivalent of the MySejahtera digital COVID-19 certificate issued by Malaysia.

Read more : EU Digital COVID Certificate – A Comedy Of Errors!

Does It Mean Malaysians Will Receive The EUDCC?

No, Malaysians will not receive the Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC), which is the EU equivalent of the MySejahtera digital COVID-19 certificate.

The EUDCC is used only by residents in the 27 EU countries, and a few non-EU countries that are in the Schengen Area, or have an open border with the EU :

  • Iceland
  • Liechtenstein
  • Norway
  • San Marino
  • Switzerland
  • Vatican City

If you have been fully-vaccinated with an EU-authorities vaccine, you may request for an EUDCC, but that’s a separate matter altogether.

So The EU Accepts The MySejahtera Certificate?

Yes. European Union countries will accept the MySejahtera digital COVID-19 certificate as equivalent to the EU Digital COVID Certificate.

This is reciprocal – Malaysia will also accept the EUDCC as equivalent to the MySejahtera digital COVID-19 certificate.

This means that holders of certificates issued by these two countries will be able to use them under the same conditions as holders of an EU Digital COVID Certificate.

At the same time, the two countries agreed to accept the EU Digital COVID Certificate for travel from the EU to their countries.

What Are The Advantages Of Connecting To EUDCC?

The instant Malaysia is connected to the EU Digital COVID Certificate system, all MySejahtera digital COVID-19 certificates are automatically valid in the EU.

Malaysian travellers to the EU will be exempted from travel-related testing or quarantine across the entire EU+ are, including all Schengen Member States, and the four Schengen Associated States – Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

Is This Necessary For Free Movement In EU?

No, the MySejahtera digital COVID-19 vaccination certificate or the the EU Digital COVID Certificate are not necessary for free movement, which is a fundamental right in the European Union.

Unvaccinated individuals are still free to travel across the EU. They are just subject to restrictions like testing or quarantine.

Booster Deadline For Seniors + Sinovac Extended… Again!

The deadline for ALL senior citizens and Sinovac vaccine recipients to receive a booster dose in Malaysia has been extended… AGAIN!

Booster Deadline For Seniors + Sinovac Recipients Extended Again!

On 7 February 2022, Malaysia Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced that these individuals will be required to get a booster dose by 28 February 2022.

  • 60 years and older who were fully-vaccinated with any COVID-19 vaccine
  • 18 years and older who were fully-vaccinated with the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine

On 24 February 2022, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced that the deadline has been extended, and both groups will have until the 31 March 2022 to get their booster dose.

On 1 April 2022, the Malaysia Health Ministry (KKM) extended the deadline again, this time by three (3) months.

This means individuals in both groups who do not get their booster dose will lose their fully-vaccinated status only on 1 July 2022, .

To be clear – this is not a vaccine mandate. You are free to refuse the booster dose. However, your MySejahtera will show that you are not fully-vaccinated.

KKM Still Offers Sinovac Booster Dose

On 7 February, the Health Minister also shared that 3.5 million people who were fully-vaccinated with the Sinovac vaccine still have not received their booster dose.

To encourage them to get their booster dose, the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) is now offering Sinovac recipients the option of a Sinovac booster dose.

KKM however strongly recommends that Sinovac recipients receive either the Pfizer or AstraZeneca booster dose, because they offer much better protection.

They are only offering the Sinovac booster dose, because it is better than not taking one at all. As Khairy quipped, “If you are going to travel to a cold country and refuse the coat that KKM offers, it’s better that we give you a t-shirt than let you go naked“.

That’s quite an apt description, as recent studies (here, here and here) have shown that the Sinovac booster dose is about as useful as a t-shirt in winter.

That said, Khairy also said that there are currently no plans for a 4th shot for Sinovac recipients.

Read more : Why Sinovac Recipients May Need Two Pfizer Booster Doses!

That is why I completely agree with KKM, and highly recommend that Sinovac recipients opt for the much better Pfizer or AstraZeneca booster dose.

If you prefer a Chinese vaccine for work or geopolitical reasons, then opt for the Sinopharm vaccine, which is at least slightly better than the Sinovac vaccine.

But no matter what you choose – please get the booster dose ASAP.

You can walk-in for your booster dose at any Mega PPV or Offsite PPV, or get an appointment at a GP PPV. So it’s really convenient.

Foreign Travellers To Malaysia Must Have US$20K Insurance!

On 30 March 2022, the Ministry of Health dropped a little bombshell just days before Malaysia reopened its international borders.

Starting 1 April 2022, all foreign travellers to Malaysia must purchase COVID-19 and travel insurance with coverage of at least US$20,000 before travelling to Malaysia.

This rule applies to all foreign travellers entering Malaysia on a short-term social pass, irrespective of vaccination status.

The COVID-19 and travel insurance policy will be used to pay for any quarantine, treatment or hospitalisation costs, in case they get infected with COVID-19 while in Malaysia.

KKM : Those Who Refuse Booster Will Not Lose Privileges

On 30 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM) announced that those who refuse their booster dose will not lose their fully-vaccinated privileges, only their status.

For these individuals – people in the two groups above who refuse to get their booster dose – they will lose the Fully Vaccinated status in MySejahtera, but will be treated like Fully Vaccinated individuals.

  • you will be able to dine-in like Fully Vaccinated individuals
  • you will be able to go shopping like Fully Vaccinated individuals
  • you will be able to go to work like Fully Vaccinated individuals

To comply with this, premise owners are being asked to verify that you are a Partially Vaccinated individual who has received the full primary series vaccine :

  • For 2-dose vaccines (Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinovac) : individuals must have exceeded 14 days from their second dose
  • For 1-dose vaccines (Johnson & Johnson, CanSino) : individuals must have exceeded 14 days from their vaccination

Overseas travellers entering Malaysia, however, must be fully-vaccinated with both the primary series vaccine and a booster dose to be allowed to enter these public premises.

My Opinion : Those Who Refuse Booster Dose Should Lose Privileges

This is a really confusing move. If you are in the two vulnerable groups, and refuse your booster dose :

  • you will lose your fully-vaccinated status, but not your privileges.
  • your MySejahtera will say Partially Vaccinated, but you will be treated like Fully Vaccinated.

So it begs the question – what’s the use of labelling them as Partially Vaccinated, if it makes no practical difference?

Even more perplexing – KKM requires overseas travellers to be boosted, but not vulnerable citizens. This makes it extremely difficult and confusing for premise owners to vet.

This is a table I came up with to summarise what KKM just announced about who should be allowed into public premises :

MySejahtera
Status
Overseas
Traveller
Malaysian
Resident
Boosted Allowed
Fully Vaccinated Not Allowed Allowed
Partially Vaccinated
(No Booster)
Not Allowed Allowed
Partially Vaccinated
(1 Dose of 2 Dose Vaccine)
Not Allowed Not Allowed
Unvaccinated Not Allowed

I have a feeling it’s going to cause considerable confusion amongst business owners and the public alike.

KKM ended their press statement, calling for these vulnerable groups to get their booster dose. I seriously doubt they will be taken seriously after telling them it makes no real difference.

How Central Medicare Leveraged Ruckus For Digital Transformation!

Find out how Central Medicare leveraged Ruckus network technologies to digitally transform and rapidly expand their business!

Central Medicare Undergoes Digital Transformation + Rapid Expansion

Central Medicare Sdn. Bhd. (CMSB) is a nitrile glove manufacturer, that started with a single manufacturing facility with 6 production lines and an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.1 billion nitrile gloves in 2015.

Based in Teluk Intan, Perak, Central Medicare has been undergoing a massive expansion and digital transformation plan that started in 2019.

They expanded to 27 production lines delivering an annual capacity of 8 billion gloves in 2020, and 34 production lines with an annual capacity of 11.6 billion in 2021.

How Central Medicare Leveraged Ruckus For Digital Transformation!

Peter Cheong, the IT Assistant Manager of Central Medicare, recently shared how they leveraged Ruckus network technologies for digital transformation during their rapid expansion plans.

As Central Medicare added more production facilities, it was becoming complicated to manage the rapidly expanding digital network.

After a thorough evaluation process that included top brands like Cisco, Aruba and Juniper, the IT team decided to leverage Ruckus network technologies for their new digital network.

They started creating their new digital network in 2016, using Ruckus ICX7150 network switches, and Ruckus ZoneDirector 1200 with R500 and R600 series wireless APs.

Both Ruckus switches and wireless APs allowed them to link and manage their different facilities in a centralised, unified manner.

The Ruckus wireless APs also allowed them to create an isolated Wi-Fi network for their customers and suppliers to use, hardening their network security.

The team also liked how Ruckus’ centralised management interface is so user-friendly, making it easy to manage for people who are not IT-savvy.

On top of that, the Ruckus KnowledgeBase is so comprehensive and easy-to-use that they can self-manage their network, without requiring any technical assistance.

All those advantages allowed the IT team to remotely manage their network during the COVID-19 pandemic MCO lockdowns.

The reliability of Ruckus network also shone through during the pandemic – Peter stated that they have not experienced a single failure, since they implemented their Ruckus network 5 years ago.

Central Medicare plans to continue leveraging Ruckus network technologies as they continue to expand their business and production facilities in 2022.

Will COVID-19 Vaccine Void Your Life Insurance?!

Dr. Peterson Pierre has gone viral with his claim that getting the COVID-19 vaccine will void your life insurance.

Take a look at his claims, and find out what the facts really are!

Dr. Pierre : COVID-19 Vaccine Will Void Your Life Insurance!

People are sharing a video of Dr. Peterson Pierre, claiming that getting the COVID-19 vaccine will void your life insurance.

He quotes a court case in France, and claims that the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) said that life insurance policies may deny payment for people who die from COVID-19 vaccines.

Here is a transcript of his video for your reference. But feel free to skip to the next section for the facts…

So in France, there was an elderly, wealthy businessman who got a life insurance for millions of dollars. He got the COVID-19 vaccine and he died.

Truth : COVID-19 Vaccine Will NOT Void Your Life Insurance!

This is yet another example of anti-vaccination FAKE VIDEOS that anti-vaccination activists are concocting to mislead people about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : AFLDS Creates + Spreads COVID-19 Misinformation

Dr. Pierre identifies himself as a doctor with the AFLDS – America’s Frontline Doctors.

AFLDS is a right-wing American political organisation that is well-known for creating and propagating COVID-19 misinformation.

Everything associated with AFLDS should never be trusted, until proven true. Yes, they are that bad.

Fact #2 : The Story Was Made Up

I traced the provenance of this story from a Greek website, to a right-wing, anti-vaccination German website, which claimed that the story was originally published by the family’s lawyer, Carlo Alberto Brusa, on his Facebook page.

However, Brusa’s Facebook page has ZERO post about any court case, going all the way back to 27 December 2020 – when COVID-19 vaccinations first kicked off in France.

As far as anyone can tell – this story was completely FABRICATED.

Fact #3 : There Was No Such Case In France

These articles were first posted in January 2022, and more than 2 months later, no one else covered it except for a few small anti-vaccination websites?

That’s because it never happened.

Fact #4 : COVID-19 Vaccines Are Not Experimental

Dr. Pierre falsely claimed that the COVID-19 vaccines are experimental.

COVID-19 vaccines are no longer experimental, after they receive either an emergency use authorisation or full approval from a health authority like the US FDA or EMA.

That only happens if they successfully complete their Phase 3 trials, and undergo a stringent review process. So it is not possible to use an experimental vaccine for mass vaccination.

Fact #6 : COVID-19 Vaccine Will Not Affect Life Insurance

Dr. Pierre also falsely claimed that the American Life Insurance Council said that “life insurance policies may deny payment if you die from the COVID-19 vaccine because they are experimental drugs.”

First of all, there is no American Life Insurance Council. There is only the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI).

Secondly, the ACLI had earlier posted two statements refuting this ridiculous claim.

ACLI Statement Of 12 March 2021

A social media post appears to be behind the spread of entirely false information, suggesting a COVID-19 vaccine could be a factor a life insurer considers in the claims-paying process.

The fact is that life insurers do not consider whether or not a policyholder has received a COVID vaccine when deciding whether to pay a claim.

Life insurance policy contracts are very clear on how policies work, and what cause, if any, might lead to the denial of a benefit. A vaccine for COVID-19 is not one of them.

Policyholders should rest assured that nothing has changed in the claims-paying process as a result of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Policyholders should reach out to their life insurers, agents or financial professionals for their COVID-related questions. They will be happy to help.

ACLI Statement Of 16 September 2021

In other words, insurance companies in the United States will not deny payment of a life insurance in the event someone dies from a COVID-19 vaccine.

These statements were posted MONTHS ago… so Dr. Pierre knowingly misled you about what the ACLI said. So I have to ask Dr. Pierre – why do you lie?

Fact #7 : It’s The Same In France + Around The World

Just in case you are wondering – insurance companies in France and around the world do NOT :

  • consider COVID-19 vaccines “experimental”
  • deny payment in the event someone dies from a COVID-19 vaccine

Insurance companies and associations worldwide have stated that COVID-19 vaccinations do NOT impact life insurance claims.

They also do not call deaths from getting a COVID-19 vaccine “suicide”.

KKM : MySejahtera Was NOT Sold To Private Company!

The Malaysia Ministry of Health has clarified that the MySejahtera app and its data was not sold to any private company.

Here is what you need to know!

Claim : MySejahtera Was Sold To Private Company!

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim claimed that MySejahtera will be sold to a private company – MySJ Sdn. Bhd. through direct negotiation.

The MySejahtera application was rolled out in April 2020, under the Malaysia Ministry of Health (KKM). It was built by KPISoft (now Entomo) as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

According to his statement, the government appointed MySJ Sdn. Bhd. through direct negotiation to take over MySejahtera on 26 November 2021.

Then in December 2021, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) proposed that the government should take over MySejahtera since it is now “an integral part of the national health system”.

KKM : MySejahtera Was NOT Be Sold To Private Company!

On 27 March 2022, the Malaysia Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin issued a press statement, clarifying that the government did not sell MySejahtera to any private company.

Here are the key points of his statement on the claims that MySejahtera was sold to MySJ Sdn. Bhd. :

  1. On 26 November 2021, the government decided that MySejahtera is owned by the government, and the Ministry of Health (KKM) was appointed as the main owner of the application.
  2. The government did not pay KPISoft any money for the development of MySejahtera, which was carried out from 27 March 2020 until 31 March 2021.
This was based on the company’s offer to let the government use the app for one year for free, as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
  3. After the CSR period ended on 31 March 2021, the government agreed to extend the use of MySejahtera, and work with KPISoft to expand its features.
  4. On 26 November 2021, the government ordered KKM to form a Price Negotiation Committee comprising of stakeholder agencies to negotiate the purchase and service maintenance of MySejahtera for two (2) years.
The scope of the procurement and management of the MySejahtera app included operating MySejahtera, system development including additional modules, maintenance, datacenter management and third-party services like Google Map and Places API, as well as SMS services.
  5. On 28 February 2022, the Ministry of Finance approved KKM’s procurement of the MySejahtera app.
  6. MySejahtera data has been under KKM’s supervision from the first day it was used, and the data is processed according to KKM procedures.
  7. KKM does not share MySejahtera data with any government agency, or private companies.
  8. All data from the MySejahtera app are uploaded to a cloud server network, and can only be accessed by the MySejahtera app only.

In short, the MySejahtera app was not sold to any private company, and was purchased by the Ministry of Health with approval from the Ministry of Finance on 28 February 2022.

Did French Court Rule Millionaire’s Vaccine Death As Suicide?!

Did a court in France rule that a millionaire’s death from the COVID-19 vaccine is considered a suicide?!

Take a look at the viral claim, and find out what the facts really are!

Claim : French Court Ruled Millionaire’s Vaccine Death As Suicide!

People are sharing videos and articles claiming that a French court recently ruled that a millionaire’s death from the COVID-19 vaccine is considered a suicide!

Apparently, the French businessman insured his life for millions of euros, but when he died from his COVID-19 vaccination, the insurance company refused to pay up, claiming that he died from taking an experimental vaccine.

So his family sued, and the French court allegedly ruled in favour of the insurance company, stating that the deceased knew about the side effects of the experimental vaccine. Therefore, his death is, in fact, a suicide.

Here is the example that everyone has been sharing, or quoting in videos. It’s very long, so feel free to skip to the next section for the facts.

In France, the court equated vaccination with suicide, taking the side of an insurance company that refused to pay money to the family of an insured millionaire who died from vaccination.

The case caused a huge resonance in society. An elderly businessman who died from vaccination, which was officially confirmed, insured his life for several million. However, after his death, the relatives were left with nothing, writes Unser Mitteleuropa.

Truth : French Court Did NOT Rule Millionaire’s Vaccine Death As Suicide!

This is yet another example of anti-vaccination FAKE NEWS that anti-vaccination activists are concocting to mislead people about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines, and here are the reasons why…

Fact #1 : It Was Based On A Single German Article

I traced the provenance of this fake story to a right-wing, anti-vaccination German website called Unser Mitteleuropa, literally Our Central Europe.

It claimed that the story was published by the family’s lawyer, Carlo Alberto Brusa, on his Facebook page. However, Unser Mitteleuropa did not provide any link to that story, or any actual court documents.

I scrolled through Brusa’s Facebook page all the way back to 27 December 2020 – when COVID-19 vaccinations first kicked off in France – and could not find a single reference to any court case he might have been working on.

There was no post about any French court calling his client’s vaccine death “a suicide”. Only a ton of posts and videos for his anti-lockdown, anti-vaccination Reaction 19 movement.

Fact #2 : There Is No Such Case In France

As far as I can tell – this entire story is completely made-up. Completely fabricated.

  • No French millionaire actually died from his COVID-19 vaccination.
  • No insurance company refused to pay life insurance because of death from vaccination.
  • No French court ruled that a death from vaccine is considered a suicide.
  • There is no document of such a case, except for two unrelated letters (see Fact #3)

None of these articles or videos mentioned the name of the dead millionaire, the insurance company, or the which court or judge presided over the case.

If a French court did indeed rule that dying from a COVID-19 vaccine is considered a suicide, it would have been HUGE NEWS, and covered world-wide!

Unser Mitteleuropa first posted their article on 12 January 2022, and more than 2 months later, no one else covered it except for a few small anti-vaccination websites?

That’s because it never happened.

Fact #3 : Life Insurance Letters Unrelated To Case

Instead of actual court documents proving that the French court indeed ruled that the (non-existent) man’s death from (non-existent) vaccine death was “a suicide”, the article shared two completely unrelated letters from German insurance companies.

In the first, Techniker Krankenkasse said that any potential side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine are not covered by their health insurance (this is not life insurance), as the vaccination is provided by the state authorities and so, any side effects would be covered by the state authorities.

In the second letter, Die Haftpfichtkasse wrote that their accident insurance (again, not life insurance) does not cover any potential side effects from COVID-19 vaccination. It is, after all, an accident insurance policy.

Fact #4 : COVID-19 Vaccines Are Not Experimental

These fake stories are based on the claim that COVID-19 vaccines are experimental, which is completely bogus.

On top of that, they continue to undergo post-marketing surveillance, to catch the very rare side effects like myocarditis (risk of less than 1 in million).

With so much clinical data, there is no way any insurance company or court can say that the vaccines are dangerous, or experimental.

Fact #6 : COVID-19 Vaccination Does Not Affect Life Insurance

COVID-19 vaccination does not affect life insurance payment.

The Insurance Control and Resolution Authority of France (ACPR) said that, “the conditions of the death of the insured have no effect on the payment to the beneficiary of the sums paid on a life insurance contract.

There are only two possibilities for the denial of a life insurance claim :

  • if the insured commits suicide, or
  • if the beneficiary is convicted of voluntarily causing the death of the insured.

The ACPR also clarified this issue to French newspaper Libération, stating :

Exclusion clauses are provided for contractually… In practice, the risks targeted by the exclusions are not very diversified and, to our knowledge, no contract contains clauses which would make it possible to exclude as a cause of death, the aftermath and consequences of vaccination, or more generally of taking medical treatment, on the prescription of a doctor.

In other words, insurance companies in France cannot deny payment of a life insurance in the event someone dies from any vaccination, or medical treatment.

Fact #7 : Insurance Companies Are Not Denying Life Insurance Claims

Insurance companies and associations have stated that COVID-19 vaccinations do NOT impact life insurance claims. They have never called deaths from getting a COVID-19 vaccine “suicide”.

American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI)

Insurance companies pay death benefits on policies, when the insured dies, regardless of the cause of death, except in very narrow and limited circumstances.

Life insurance policy contracts are very clear on how policies work, and what cause, if any, might lead to the denial of a benefit. A vaccine for COVID-19 is not one of them.

Manulife

The COVID-19 vaccination in no way negatively impacts your current insurance policies or valid Group Benefits coverage, nor does it factor into new insurance applications you may apply for with us.

Allianz

Your Allianz life insurance policy does not contain a specific policy exclusion for COVID-19.

However, there is an exclusion which may apply if your claim relates to overseas travel. By this we mean, we will not pay any benefits to the extent a claim arises because you didn’t follow advice issued by the government relating to an overseas location.

Now that you know the facts, please help to fight fake news – SHARE this article out!
