More Privileges For Fully-Vaccinated In Malaysia!

Malaysia just announced more privileges for those who are fully-vaccinated!

Here is what you need to know!

 

Fully-Vaccinated In Malaysia : Do YOU Qualify?

On 8 August 2021, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Muhyiddin Yassin announced a slew of travel and quarantine privileges for those who are fully vaccinated.

This was followed by another announcement on 15 August 2021 of more social and business privileges for fully-vaccinated!

But to qualify for these privileges, you must be fully-vaccinated according to these requirements :

  • More than 14 days after receiving both doses of the Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccine.
  • More than 28 days after receiving a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson or Cansino vaccine.

In addition, these privileges apply to all states that have achieved adult vaccination of at least 50%.

For example, the Klang Valley achieved an adult vaccination rate of 64.7% on 14 August 2021, and therefore all fully-vaccinated adults in the Klang Valley can enjoy these privileges.

 

More Privileges For Fully-Vaccinated In Malaysia!

Here are the additional privileges that the Prime Minister announced for those who are fully vaccinated in Malaysia.

These privileges will kick off on Monday, 16 August 2021.

More Businesses Can Reopen In PPN Phase 1

These businesses are allowed to reopen in PPN Phase 1 areas, for customers who are fully-vaccinated.

  1. Car wash
  2. Electric and electronic shop
  3. Shops selling kitchen and home appliances and goods
  4. Furniture shop
  5. Sports equipment shop
  6. Car accessory shop
  7. Car distribution and sale centre
  8. Morning market and farmer market only
  9. Clothes, fashion and accessories shop
  10. Jewelry shop
  11. Barber and beauty saloon (basic hair cutting services only)

Premise owners must :

  • provide a MySejahtera QR code, manual logbook, hand sanitiser and temperature scanner
  • ensure that those with body temperature of 37.5°C are not allowed to enter
  • ensure that everyone must check in using MySejahtera or the manual logbook
  • ensure that everyone wears a face mask, and maintain physical distancing
  • ensure that only those who have a valid digital certificate showing ful COVID-19 vaccination are allowed to enter.
  • ensure that gloves are worn (by employees), and contact time between workers and clients are limited
  • ensure that fitting rooms are not allowed to be used

More Businesses Can Reopen In PPN Phase 2

These businesses are allowed to reopen in PPN Phase 2 areas, for customers who are fully-vaccinated.

Premise owners must ensure that only those who have a valid digital certificate showing ful COVID-19 vaccination are allowed to enter.

  1. Camera shop and photography services
  2. Preloved (second-hand) shop
  3. Flower shop and nursery
  4. Shop selling antiquities
  5. Toy shop
  6. Carpet shop
  7. Creative content and equipment shop
  8. Outdoor equipment shop (including camping, fishing, and other outdoor tools)
  9. Cosmetic, skin care and perfume shop
  10. Tobacco shop (including vape and electronic cigarettes)

Premise owners must :

Manufacturing, Construction (All Phases)

Non-essential activities in the manufacturing and construction industries will be allowed in all PPN Phases, starting Monday, 16 August 2021.

In addition, fully-vaccinated people working in these industries will be allowed to travel interstate, even crossing into other PPN phases.

The worker capacity for these industries will be based on their employee’s vaccination status :

Note : Business owners must conduct antigen RTK tests on their workers, every two weeks, at their own expense.

Mining + Quarrying (All Phases)

In addition, fully-vaccinated people working in these industries will be allowed to travel interstate, even crossing into other PPN phases.

Earlier Privileges For Fully-Vaccinated In Malaysia!

Here is a quick recap of earlier privileges that were announced for fully-vaccinated people in Malaysia :

  • International travellers who are Malaysian residents or foreigners with homes in Malaysia can undergo home quarantine
  • Long-distance couples can travel to meet each other
  • Parents can travel to visit their children who are under 18 years of age
  • Prayers in religious houses of worship are allowed
  • Inter-district travel is permitted in PPN Phase 2, 3 and 4 areas
  • Dining in is permitted in PPN Phase 2, 3 and 4 areas
  • Tourism is allowed within the same same in PPN Phase 2, 3 and 4 areas
