No Need To Register Again For Vaccination On MySejahtera!

The Malaysian government has clarified that MySejahtera is being updated, and there is NO NEED to register again for COVID-19 vaccination!

Find out what’s going on, and why you don’t have to re-register for COVID-19 vaccination!

Register Again For Vaccination : What’s Going On?

On 3 March 2021, MySejahtera started displaying a vaccination status page, but it only appeared for some people.

For everyone else, clicking on the Vaccine for [Your Name] link just leads them back to the registration process, instead of the status page.

They would have to go through the entire vaccination registration process again, before the status page would appear.

After they re-register for vaccination on MySejahtera, the Vaccine for [Your Name] link will then correctly show the vaccination status page.

There was also concern when users noticed that MySejahtera was showing a new registration date, instead of the original registration date.

No Need To Register Again For Vaccination On MySejahtera!

On 4 March 2021, the National Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, said that MySejahtera is currently updating its vaccination registration record.

Missing Vaccination Status Page?

He assured everyone that all MySejahtera users should see the vaccination status page today.

If you still do not see the vaccination status page, you do NOT need to re-register for the vaccination programme.

Wrong Vaccination Registration Date?

He also said that those who re-registered and received a new date on their vaccination status page do not need to worry.

The appointment will be set according to the first registration date, not the new registration date.

Option To Register For COVID-19 Vaccination Now On MySejahtera!

On 22 February 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health released MySejahtera 1.0.28 for iOS and Android devices, which adds the option to register for COVID-19 vaccination.

The COVID-19 Vaccine has arrived in Malaysia! With the new vaccination module, verify your name and IC and submit the additional details to complete your registration in the app.

Be sure to enable your app’s push notification to receive the latest updates regarding the vaccination rollout, which will commence in phases:

– PHASE 1 (February – April 2021): Frontliners
– PHASE 2 (April – August 2021): Remaining healthcare workers and high risk group
– PHASE 3 (May 2021 – February 2022): Adult population >18 years

MySejahtera 1.0.29 was released on 24 February 2021, with bug fixes.

MySejahtera may not appear as an update on Google Play Store. You may need to manually look for MySejahtera and click on the Update button.

But there is no need to worry or panic. You are early! Public registration for COVID-19 vaccination in Malaysia was only supposed to start officially on 1 March 2021.

How To Register For COVID-19 Vaccination On MySejahtera!

Here is our video guide on how to register for COVID-19 vaccination using the MySejahtera app.

It’s the same process, whether you are using an Apple iPhone, or an Android smartphone.

Don’t worry about making mistakes. You can redo the registration, to correct for mistakes.

For those who prefer pictures and text, here is our step-by-step pictorial guide :

  1. Make sure you update to MySejahtera 1.0.28 or later before you proceed.
  2. Open MySejahtera.
  3. Tap on the Close button on the upper right corner of the default Check-in screen.
  4. You should see the MySejahtera main screen, and it should show you a new COVID-19 Vaccination option.

  1. Tap on the COVID-19 Vaccination option and it will show you this information display.
  2. Tap on the first option – Vaccine for [your name here] – to start with the registration process.

  1. You will be asked to verify your name and IC (MyKad) or passport number, as well as your MySJ ID (your telephone number). Click Submit if they are correct, or Edit if they are wrong.

  1. After verifying your details, you will be informed that the COVID-19 Vaccination Program is currently in Phase 1 – for frontliners only.
  2. You can register for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the COVID-19 Vaccination Program on MySejahtera by tapping on the blue CLICK HERE link.

  1. You will be asked to answer three simple questions, to determine whether you should be classed under Phase 2 or Phase 3 of the COVID-19 Vaccination Program, as well as your location.
  2. The address search option may not work. If that happens, tap on the Location finder (circled in red) to let MySejahtera use your GPS location.

Please BE HONEST in this assessment. It will, after all, be verified by the Ministry of Health.

When it comes to Question no. 2 – Do you have any comorbities? – that refers to any medical condition you have that may put you at greater risk of dying from COVID-19.

For your reference, this includes :

  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Heart disease
  • Asthma
  • Cancer
  • Chronic lung disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Liver disease
  • Stroke
  • Low Immunity (Immunocompromised)
  • Obesity
  • Others

  1. Once you are satisfied with your answers, hit Submit and you are done! You should see this screen pop-up (for version 1.0.29 onwards).

Then all you have to do is wait for the Malaysia Ministry of Health to contact you when it is your turn to be vaccinated against COVID-19!

Confirm Your COVID-19 Vaccination Registration

Don’t leave just yet. Make sure your registration was completed properly using these steps :

  1. Go back to the MySejahtera main screen, and tap on the COVID-19 Vaccination option again.

  1. In this screen, tap on the first option – Vaccine for [your name here] again.

  1. If you see this screen, then you have successfully registered for the COVID-19 vaccination program.

No Need To Register Again For COVID-19 Vaccination

On 3 March 2021, National Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said that “there is no need to resubmit” the application.

He clarified this on 4 March 2021, stating that MySejahtera is currently updating its vaccination registration record.

So there is NO NEED to register for vaccination again, even if you do not see the vaccination status page above.

As long as you submitted your registration and saw this THANK YOU pop-up, you have successfully registered for the COVID-19 vaccination programme.

Smart Access Memory Now Enabled For Ryzen 3000 CPUs!

AMD just enabled Smart Access Memory for select Ryzen 3000 desktop processors!

Find out what Smart Access Memory does, and how to enable it for a FREE boost in performance!

Smart Access Memory Now Enabled For Ryzen 3000 CPUs!

When AMD launched the Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card, they also mentioned that Smart Access Memory is now enabled for Ryzen 3000 desktop processors, except :

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3400G
  • AMD Ryzen 3 3200G

This would give those older processors a small but FREE boost in performance, when paired with Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards and AMD 500 series motherboards.

To enable Smart Access Memory for your Ryzen 3000 / 5000 series PC, please follow the steps!

Unfortunately, AMD has not enabled Smart Access Memory for Radeon RX 5000 series graphics cards, or AMD 400 series motherboards yet.

Recommended : AMD Smart Access Memory (Resizable BAR) Guide

Smart Access Memory : How Does It Boost Ryzen 3000 Performance?

Smart Access Memory is AMD’s marketing term for their implementation of the PCI Express Resizable BAR (Base Address Registers) capability.

What does that mean exactly?

CPUs are traditionally limited to a 256 MB I/O memory address region for the GPU frame buffer. The CPU can only transfer data like textures, shaders and geometry to the GPU through that small 256 MB “window”.

Turning on Resizable BAR or Smart Access Memory expands that small access window, letting the CPU directly access the GPU’s entire frame buffer memory.

Those graphics assets can thus be sent in full, instead of in pieces. In addition, multiple transfers can occur simultaneously, instead of being queued up.

While this AMD graphic suggests that Smart Access Memory will widen the memory path (and thus memory bandwidth) between the CPU and GPU, that is not true.

Smart Access Memory / Resizable BAR will not increase memory bandwidth.

What it does is let the CPU directly access the entire GPU frame buffer memory, instead of using the usual 256 MB “window”. That speeds up CPU to GPU communications.

Smart Access Memory For Ryzen 3000 : Requirements

This is what you currently require to enable AMD Smart Access Memory for Ryzen 3000 desktop processors :

Hardware

Software

  • AMD Radeon Software Driver 20.11.2 or newer
  • Latest Motherboard BIOS (AMD AGESA 1.1.0.0 or newer)

AMD currently recommends these X570 motherboards, because they have updated BIOS available :

Is WhatsApp Going To Charge For Picture Messages?

Is WhatsApp going to charge us to send and receive picture messages from 1 March onwards?

Find out what’s going on, and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : WhatsApp Is Going To Charge For Picture Messages!

This viral claim is spreading like wildfire on WhatsApp, with people asking – is this true?

Please note: Starting from March 1st, all pictures of “good morning, good morning, happy weekend, etc.” will be charged, and it is a two-way charge (sending and receiving), please use text for greetings , Don’t use pictures! Thank you

请各位注意:从3月1日开始,凡是“问好“的早安丶上午好丶周未快乐等等的图片都要收费了,而且是双向收费(发与收),请各位问候要用文字,不要用图片!谢谢

No, WhatsApp Is NOT Going To Charge For Picture Messages!

Such viral messages have been circulating for years, often being modified to change the date or details. But the premise is always the same – WhatsApp will start charging us.

This latest version is most likely an attempt to stop people from sending all those irritating Good Morning and Happy Weekend messages.

The truth is – WhatsApp is NOT going to charge for sending or receiving picture messages.

In fact, it does not make sense for WhatsApp to charge us to use their free messaging service. Here are the reasons why…

Reason #1 : WhatsApp Needs To Stay Free

WhatsApp became big by providing a FREE messaging service, and that includes the ability to send and receive picture messages.

Even when they tried to monetise WhatsApp without charging users for messages, they were roundly criticised and many abandoned them for Telegram and Signal.

Charging for their free messaging service will merely trigger a massive exodus to alternative free messaging services like Telegram, Signal, WeChat, Line, KakaoTalk, etc.

Reason #2 : WhatsApp Needs Us As Their Product

WhatsApp will probably charge companies using their (still free) WhatsApp Business app, and introduce payment services to make money.

But they will always keep messaging free for end-users, because we are their “product”. WhatsApp needs a massive number of users to “sell” to businesses, including those on Facebook.

Our metadata is useful to advertisers on Facebook, and eventually, WhatsApp will likely charge businesses for the right to access their massive user base.

Ultimately, it does not make business sense for WhatsApp to charge end users like us.

Reason #3 : WhatsApp Does Not Have The Ability To Charge Us

Think about it for a second – did you ever give WhatsApp your credit card details? Or did they introduce any payment method?

If not, how on Earth are they ever going to charge you?

There is simply NO WAY for WhatsApp to charge us anything. Not until they ask for our credit card details, or introduce some kind of payment method.

Reason #4 : There Would Be Advanced Warning

Even if WhatsApp really wanted to charge for messaging, they cannot just start charging on-the-sly.

Remember the big hoohah over the change in privacy policy? It only happened because they had to tell people that they were changing it, and ask them to accept those changes.

So if it does come to pass that WhatsApp will start charging for messages, they will have to inform you in advanced and you will have the opportunity to switch to an alternative messaging service.

Malaysia Approves AstraZeneca + Sinovac COVID Vaccines!

Malaysia has conditionally approved the AstraZeneca and Sinovac finished vaccines against COVID-19!

This does NOT include the bulk Sinovac vaccine that will undergo fill and finish by Pharmaniaga.

Find out this means for the COVID-19 vaccination program in Malaysia!

Malaysia Approves AstraZeneca + Sinovac COVID Vaccines!

On 2 March 2021, the Malaysia Ministry of Health announced that the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines against COVID-19 received conditional approval.

  1. AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine Solution for Injection
    Registrant : AstraZeneca Sdn. Bhd.
Manufacturer : Medimmune Pharma B.V. Netherland
  2. Sinovac CoronaVac Suspension for Injection
Registrant : Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn. Bhd.
Manufacturer : Sinovac Life Sciences Co. Ltd., China

These conditional approvals would allow the AstraZeneca and Sinovac finished vaccines to be used in the Malaysia COVID-19 vaccination program.

However, please note that the conditional approval is only for the finished vaccine from Sinovac.

The NPRA is still evaluating the CoronaVac vaccine that is being filled and finished by Pharmaniaga LifeScience Sdn. Bhd.

Hence, the bulk CoronaVac vaccine that recently arrived in Malaysia has NOT been approved for use yet.

They also gave conditional approval to a second source of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

  1. COMIRNATY Concentrate for Dispersion for Injection
Registrant : Pfizer (M) Sdn. Bhd.
Manufacturer #1 (drug product and final release) : Pfizer Manufacturing Belgium NV, Puurs, Belgium
Manufacturer #2 (final release) : BioNTech Manufacturing GmbH, Mainz, Germany

The Pfizer COMIRNATY vaccine had earlier been approved. This additional approval allows vaccine doses from the BioNTech manufacturing facility in Germany to be used in the Malaysia COVID-19 vaccination program.

The NPRA is still evaluating the Sputnik V vaccine, also known as Gam-COVID-Vac, from Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute.

AstraZeneca + Sinovac Vaccines : A Quick Primer!

The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, codenamed AZD1222, is a viral vector vaccine.

It uses a chimpanzee adenovirus – ChAdOx1 – which has been modified to prevent replication, to introduce a DNA sequence of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein.

Once injected, the vaccine enters the cell and “teaches” it to produce the SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins and express them on its surface.

These spike proteins triggers the immune response to create antibodies that will protect you against the real SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine, branded CoronaVac, is an inactivated virus vaccine.

It uses actual SARS-CoV-2 virus grown in Vero cells, and then killed using β-propiolactone.

Once injected into the body, the antigens on the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus triggers the body’s immune system.

Did Al Gore Say North Pole Will Be Ice-Free By 2013?

Did Al Gore say that the North Pole will be ice-free in the summer by 2013 because of global warming?

Does it mean that global warming isn’t real because the North Pole is still very cold in 2021?

Find out what climate change deniers keep sharing, and what the FACTS really are!

Did Al Gore Say North Pole Will Be Ice-Free By 2013?

Climate change deniers keep sharing this meme, updating it every year so it would stay current.

The North Pole will be ice-free in the summer by 2013 because of man-made global warming.
– Al Gore, 2009

You may have seen your friends and even favourite celebrities sharing it, laughing at Al Gore’s stupidity.

He’s such a dolt! How can global warming be real if the North Pole is still so freaking cold?!

Note : We placed the Misleading overlay to prevent them from being further abused.

No, Al Gore Did NOT Say North Pole Will Be Ice-Free By 2013

This meme would be somewhat funny, if anti-climate change deniers did not keep updating it and reusing it to push their false beliefs.

Whether people who shared them are actual climate change deniers, or just useful idiots, is hard to know.

But what we know is that this meme is FALSE. Al Gore did not say that the North Pole will be ice-free by 2013.

Here are the facts…

Fact #1 : Al Gore Misstated Forecast In 2009

This false meme is based on a flub Al Gore made in 2009, when he spoke at the Copenhagen climate change summit.

He misstated a forecast one scientist provided his office earlier, stating that “some of the models suggest to Dr Maslowski that there is a 75% chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within 5 to 7 years“.

The truth is – Dr Maslowski, who worked at the US Naval Postgraduate School in California, stated that his results (at that time) gave a 6-year projection for the melting of 80% of the sea ice, but he expects some ice to remain beyond 2020.

Fact #2 : They Were Referring To Sea Ice

A very important point that climate change deniers don’t tell you is that both Al Gore and Dr. Maslowski were not talking about the entire North Pole being ice-free.

They were both talking about SEA ICE at the North Pole disappearing during the warmest months of the year.

Historically, sea ice drops by 50~56% every year, so an 80% reduction in sea ice during the warmest months would be a possibility in a warming world, albeit an unprecedented one.

These two NASA maps show the change in sea ice in 2016. As you can see, the amount of sea ice present at the North Pole greatly fluctuates throughout the year.

Fact #3 : 2009 + 5~7 Years ≠ 2013

What really perplexes us is how bad climate change deniers are at basic mathematics.

Even if you take Al Gore’s flub at full face value, the North Pole would be ice-free by 2014 to 2016, not 2013.

Yet, every year, they use the same false meme on the North Pole becoming ice-free by 2013.

They should have stayed in school…

Fact #4 : That Was An Extreme Projection

The projection by Dr. Wieslav Maslowski was considered an extreme projection, with most climate scientists agreeing that a 20-30 year timescale is more likely for the disappearance of sea ice.

Even so, he did not say the North Pole would be completely ice-free, only that 80% of the Arctic sea ice would disappear during the warmest months.

Fact #5 : Sea Ice Continues To Shrink

Al Gore may have been wrong in saying that the North Pole would be ice-free by 2014 to 2016, but it is a fact that the Arctic sea ice have been steadily shrinking over years.

Forget about projections. Here are the actual satellite measurements of Arctic sea ice from 1979 until 2015.

The minimum area of Arctic sea ice halved from about 7.5 million km² in 1980 to 3.4 million km² in September 2012.

With maximum Arctic sea ice between 14-16 million km² in the coolest months, a drop to 3.4 million km² represents a 75.7% drop in sea ice – not very far off from what Dr. Maslowski modelled in 2009…

Ismail Sabri : KL-Selangor Travel Allowed, But Not Putrajaya

For those who are confused by the latest inter-district travel announcement, here is the final word – travel between KL and Selangor is allowed, but not to Putrajaya.

Ismail Sabri : KL, Selangor, Putrajaya Considered One Zone

Back in May 2020, the Malaysia National Security Council (MKN) announced that KL, Selangor and Putrajaya are considered one zone for the purpose of disease control – the Klang Valley zone.

Therefore, travel between KL, Selangor and Putrajaya was allowed at that time, as they were all CMCO / PKPB areas under the same zone, not different states.

The government considered travel between KL, Selangor and Putrajaya as inter-district travel, not interstate travel.

Ismail Sabri : KL-Selangor Travel Allowed, But Not Putrajaya

On 2 March 2021, the Malaysia National Security Council (MKN) announced that inter-district travel was now allowed nationwide, except in Sabah.

However, that caused some confusion as people wondered – is KL, Selangor and Putrajaya still considered as the same zone?

Malaysia Senior Minister of Defence Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri later issued another statement, reaffirming that Selangor, KL and Putrajaya are still considered as one zonethe Klang Valley zone.

However, only free travel between KL and Selangor is allowed this time. This is because Putrajaya has been classified as an RMCO area.

Therefore, travel from CMCO areas like KL and Selangor to Putrajaya will require police permission, unless it is for official work purposes (with employer’s letter).

Official Statement On KL, Selangor, Putrajaya Travel By Ismail Sabri

At 9 PM on 2 March 2021, MKN issued this official statement by Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri :

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob
Menteri Kanan Pertahanan
2 Mac 2021

And here is our English translation :

As implemented during CMCO 1.0, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are considered one zone.

Cross movements between Selangor (CMCO) to Kuala Lumpur (CMCO) are allowed.

However travel from Selangor or Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya is still not allowed, because Putrajaya is under RMCO status. This is to protect Putrajaya from the spread of COVID-19.

Travel from Selangor or Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya still requires police permission except for those who are working and have employer’s letter.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob
Senior Defence Minister
2 March 2021

Malaysia : Inter-District Travel Allowed, Except In Sabah!

As expected, the Malaysian government just lifted their ban on inter-district travel!

Here is what you need to know about this change!

Malaysia : Inter-District Travel Allowed, Except In Sabah!

The Malaysia National Security Council (MKN) just lifted their ban on inter-district travel across the entire country, except in Sabah.

Starting 5 March 2021, you can freely travel within your state, across district lines.

This was long expected, after they lifted the 10 km travel limit on 16 February 2021.

The only exception is Sabah, where inter-district travel is still forbidden. You must travel only within your district in Sabah.

Inter-District Travel Allowed, But Not Interstate Travel

However, please note that interstate travel is still forbidden across the country.

The only exception is Kuala Lumpur and Selangor – they are all considered the “same state” – the Klang Valley.

So residents of KL and Selangor Putrajaya can freely travel within the Klang Valley, except to Putrajaya which is under RMCO.

Police permission is needed for KL and Selangor residents to travel to Putrajaya, unless it is for work (with employer’s letter).

Recommended : Ismail Sabri : KL-Selangor Travel Allowed, But Not Putrajaya

COVID-19 Vaccine : Which Should YOU Choose?

Now that there are several COVID-19 vaccine options, people are demanding for the right to choose.

But should you be given the option to choose, which COVID-19 vaccine should you choose?

COVID-19 Vaccine : So Many To Choose From?

Several COVID-19 vaccine candidates successfully completed their Phase 3 trials, and have received EUA (Emergency Use Authorisation) from various countries.

Company Brand Name Other Name EUA Full
Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty BNT162b2 37 11
Gamaleya Research
Institute
Sputnik V Gam-COVID-Vac 34 5
Moderna mRNA-1273 10 5
Oxford-AstraZeneca AZD1222 30 4
Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV 17 4
Sinovac Biotech CoronaVac 15 1
Johnson & Johnson Janssen COVID-19 Ad26.COV2.S 5 0
CanSino Biologics Convidicea Ad5-nCoV 3 0

Many countries ordered several vaccine candidates at the same time, because a single vaccine manufacturer cannot possibly provide enough vaccines to cover an entire population.

Malaysia, for instance, purchased five COVID-19 vaccine candidates :

However, with multiple COVID-19 vaccine types being deployed, it has given people the idea that they should have the right to pick and choose the vaccine.

So which should YOU choose?

COVID-19 Vaccine : Which Should YOU Choose?

Most countries will provide the COVID-19 vaccines FREE of charge, but the type of vaccine used will depend on what’s available – you are NOT allowed to pick and choose.

Even so, many people are demanding the right to pick and choose their COVID-19 vaccine. Some are demanding the right to pay for what they believe are the ‘superior’ vaccine.

But guess what…

The BEST vaccine you can take is the FIRST vaccine you can get, and COMPLETE.

Here are the reasons why…

Reason #1 : Early Protection Offers The Best Protection

Think of the COVID-19 pandemic as an alien invasion, and the vaccine as body armour that protect you against their attacks.

When you are under attack, do you put on the first body armour you find? Or do you wait until you find the body armour you like the best?

The fact is – even “substandard” body armour will offer you FAR MORE protection than no body armour at all!

You could end up getting killed by COVID-19, before your preferred body armour arrives. What’s the point of getting the vaccine you want if you are already infected or dead?

Don’t believe us? A team of scientists actually did a study on this, concluding that “waiting for a vaccine with a higher efficacy results in additional hospitalizations and costs over the course of the pandemic“.

Reason #2 : All Approved Vaccines Protect You Against Severe Disease + Death

Regulatory bodies around the world set a minimum threshold of 50% efficacy against symptomatic infection for the approval of any COVID-19 vaccine.

However, that has confused many people into thinking that the authorities are taking shortcuts in giving us vaccines that barely work.

Come on – 50% efficacy? That’s like rolling the dice at the roulette table, right? That’s really NOT the case.

We prepared this table to show you how misleading efficacy rates are.

COVID-19 Vaccine Protection Against
Symptomatic
Infection
Severe
Disease
Death
Pfizer Comirnaty 95.0% 100% 100%
Gamaleya Sputnik V 91.6% 100% 100%
Moderna mRNA-1273 94.1% 100% 100%
AstraZeneca AZD1222 62% ~ 90% 100% 100%
Sinopharm BBIBP-CorV 79% ~ 86% 90% 100%
Sinovac Biotech 50.65% 83.7% 100%
J&J Janssen COVID-19 66.0% 85% 100%
CanSino Biologics 65.7% 90.98% 100%

The truth is all approved vaccines will protect you against severe disease, and prevent you from dying from COVID-19.

It would be really nice if you get a vaccine that protects you against even mild COVID-19, but not getting killed by it sounds pretty awesome to us!

Reason #3 : Vaccines Are In Limited Supply

COVID-19 vaccines are in limited supply, and there does not appear to be enough to vaccinate most countries until well into 2022.

Therefore, the possibility of vaccines being made available for sale so you can pick and choose is remote, at least until 2022.

This is a pandemic – a global health crisis. The lives of trillions of people around the world come before your “right to choose”.

COVID-19 Vaccine : Don’t Choose. Get One ASAP!

It really doesn’t matter which COVID-19 vaccine you get.

As long as it is an approved vaccine and you complete the dosing requirement, it will prevent you from getting severe COVID-19, or dying from it.

Instead of waiting for a particular COVID-19 vaccine, get the first one offered to you.

Don’t worry, when COVID-19 vaccines are available for sale, you can choose whichever vaccine you want and re-vaccinate yourself to your heart’s content!

Travel Restriction : Sabah, Labuan, Sarawak District List

MKN finally clarified their definition of districts, so here is the district list for Sabah, Labuan and Sarawak that we compiled!

For Northern states, please see Penang, Perak, Kedah, Perlis District List
For Central states, please see KL, Selangor, Putrajaya District List
For Southern states, please see Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan District List
For Eastern states, please see Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu District List

Interstate + Inter-District Travel : Forbidden Nationwide

Ever since 13 January 2021, interstate and inter-district travel are FORBIDDEN in MCO areas. In CMCO areas, interstate travel is forbidden, but inter-district travel is allowed.

But when the 10 km travel limit was lifted, MKN announced that inter-district and interstate travel are FORBIDDEN  nationwide.

Ever since the inter-district travel was forbidden in Malaysia, people have wondered – how do you define the districts?

Unfortunately, the lack of a proper definition led to some confusion – is KL a single district? Do we follow police districts or state districts?

This anecdotal example, that is being shared on social media, claims that the police are issuing fines based on police districts, instead of state districts.

Apparently daerah in PKP mean ikut Daerah IPD polis.

Daughter came back from Subang Jaya to Bukit Jelutong kena saman merentasi Daerah katanya because of diffrent IPD . As far as i know Daerah in Selangor ada 9 je..and Subang Jaya and Shah Alam is under Daerah Petaling. Called IPD shah Alam to clarify yes they said kena saman because different Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Jurisdiction.

Called MKN asking where is the SOP definition regarding Daerah..officer cannot answer but affirm Subang Jaya and Shah Alam under 1 daerah .confused ask to refer to Polis…Polis ask to refer to MKN..Polis officer confused MKN also confused.

Apparently Polis issue compound on behalf of Pejabat Kesihatan because under Akta Kesihatan..kompaun have to pay to Pejabat kesihatan in kelana Jaya..so ask them kena mintak permit or not to go to kelana jaya pay kompoun..because different IPD ..no need pulak. Lastly called pejabat kesihatan they also confused why kena saman because same Daerah..lastly kena buat surat rayuan pembatalan kompaun. wasted whole morning making phone calls to get definition of Daerah. No Definite answer. Semua confused.

Adoi Malaysia..land of the Confused Civil Servant and Politicians

Travel Restriction : MKN Clarifies Definition Of District!

After weeks of uncertainty, the Malaysia National Security Council (MKN) finally clarified their definition of district for the inter-district travel ban.

On 20 February 2021, they released an updated MCO SOP, which included this definition of district.

  • the entire federal territory of KL is considered as a single district
  • the district borders are as defined by the states

In other words, you can travel without restrictions throughout the entire Kuala Lumpur, and districts as defined by the states, not the police.

Travel Restriction : Sabah, Labuan, Sarawak District List

Fact Check : RM300 Seat Belt Fine On PLUS Highway?

Is it true that rear passengers caught not wearing a seat belt on the PLUS North-South Expressway will receive a RM300 fine?

Find out what’s going on, and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : RM300 Seat Belt Fine By Police On PLUS Highway!

This is the viral message that has been circulating (again) on WhatsApp since early January 2021, but was circulating on SMS and Facebook for a long time now.

. INFORMATION

The Truth : There Is No RM300 Seat Belt Fine

The truth is there is no RM300 fine for rear passengers who did not wear a seat belt.

Fact #1 : JSPT Refuted The Viral Claim

The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) refuted the claim that they would be checking cars travelling on the PLUS North-South Expressway in the evenings, and issuing a RM300 fine for those caught not wearing a seat belt at the back.

The JSPT Deputy Director SAC Datuk Mohd Nadzri Hussain said, “We at JSPT would like to advise all road users to continue complying with the laws and regulations to ensure the safety of every road user.

In addition, we would also like to urge the public to stop spreading fake information and to always ensure the validity of any viral information shared on social media sites.

Fact #2 : Rear Seat Belt Mandatory Since 1 January 2009

It has been mandatory in Malaysia to wear a seat belt while seated in the back seat of a vehicle since 1 January 2009, except for :

  • old vehicles registered before 1 January 1995
  • vehicles registered on or after 1 January 1995 but lack rear anchorage points
  • vehicles that seat more than 8 passengers (not including driver)
  • good vehicles with carrying load of more than 3.5 tonnes

Fact #3 : Seat Belt Fine Is Way More Than RM300

Any driver or passengers, whether seated in the front or rear, caught not wearing a seat belt will be subject to :

  • a fine of up to RM 2,000, and / or
  • a prison sentence of up to 1 year

Fact #4 : RM300 Seat Belt Fine Ended In June 2009

For a 6 month period – from 1 January until 30 June 2009 – the police and JPJ only issued a reduced RM300 fine to those who did not wear a seat belt.

That “introductory fine” has long expired.

COVID-19 VACCINATION CONSENT FORM

The COVID-19 vaccine is administered to control the spread of COVID-19 in this country. When more people are vaccinated, more people will develop antibodies and subsequently reduce the risk of a serious COVID-19 infection. Indirectly, we can protect vulnerable groups that cannot be vaccinated.

The Special Meeting of the Muzakarah Committee of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs that convened on 3 December 2020 has stipulated that the requirement for use of the Covid-19 vaccine is just, and must be taken by the groups identified by the government.

The COVID-19 vaccination requires one (1) or two (2) doses depending on the type of vaccine. This vaccine is usually injected into the shoulder muscles, except in certain circumstances. The type of vaccine that is given will depend on the vaccine supply at the time.

This COVID-19 vaccination could cause mild side effects and other side effects that will be reported from time to time.

CoronaVac Vaccine By Sinovac : Your Questions Answered!

China recently approved the CoronaVac vaccine for general use, and several countries around the world have purchased it.

In this article, we will answer your frequently asked questions about this Chinese-made vaccine!

Find out how the CoronaVac vaccine works, and how effective it really is against COVID-19!

CoronaVac Vaccine : What Is It?

Developed by Sinovac Life Sciences, CoronaVac is a 2-dose inactivated virus vaccine, where the second dose delivered 14 days after the first.

Unlike the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines, CoronaVac only needs to be refrigerated at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), which makes it easy to distribute.

On 6 February 2021, China approved the CoronaVac vaccine for general use.

CoronaVac Vaccine : How Is It Created?

CoronaVac is an inactivated virus vaccine – which is an older method of creating vaccines.

  • The SARS-CoV-2 virus (CN02 strain) is cultured (grown) in African green monkey kidney cells, also known as Vero cells *.
  • After incubation, the virus is harvested and inactivated (killed) using β-propiolactone, a sterilising agent.
  • The inactivated virus are concentrated and purified, and then adsorbed (attached) onto aluminium hydroxide.
  • The aluminium hydroxide + virus complex is then diluted in phosphate-buffered saline (basically salt water with phosphate) to match the pH, osmolarity and ion concentration of the human body.
  • The vaccine solution is then sterilised and filtered before being filled into syringes or vials.

* This is why the Sinovac CoronaVac vaccine box is labelled “SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated“.

CoronaVac Vaccine : What Does It Contain?

The CoronaVac vaccine can come in the form of a vial, or a pre-filled syringe. Both only require refrigeration at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F).

Each dose contains 600 SU (3 µg) of inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus and aluminium hydroxide (as adjuvant) in 0.5 ml of phosphate-buffered saline.

CoronaVac Vaccine : How Does It Work?

The CoronaVac vaccine is injected intramuscularly in two doses, fourteen days apart.

Once injected, the antigens on the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus trigger the body’s immune system, just like the actual virus would.

However, the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus just floats around and doesn’t infect any cells. So the immune response is weaker than an actual COVID-19 infection.

That is why it uses aluminium hydroxide as an adjuvant, and a second vaccine shot is needed to further stimulate the immune response.

CoronaVac Vaccine : What Are Its Side Effects?

According to its Phase 1 trial results, volunteers reported only these side effects :

  • injection site pain
  • fatigue
  • muscle pain
  • headache

They were generally mild (grade 1 in severity), and the volunteers recovered within 48 hours.

Only one case of acute hypersensitivity with urticaria (hives) was recorded out of 24 volunteers who received the vaccine.

CoronaVac Vaccine : How Effective Is It?

The efficacy of the CoronaVac vaccine is a subject of some controversy…

Butantan Study Controversy

On 24 December 2020, the Butantan Institute in Brazil announced that the CoronaVac vaccine’s efficacy was “above 50%” – the minimum threshold for approval. However, Sinovac asked them to delay releasing their results.

On 7 January 2021, the Butantan Institute announced that the CoronaVac vaccine was 78% effective.

That was “corrected” on 12 January 2021, when they announced that the 78% efficacy rate was “calculated” based on mild, moderate and severe COVID-19 cases.

When they included “very mild cases”, the actual figure was 50.38% – often rounded up as 50.4%.

Out of 12,396 volunteers, 160 who got the placebo were infected, 128 who got the vaccine were infected.

Sinovac Explains Controversy

On 14 January 2021, Sinovac senior director, Yin Weidong, explained at a Beijing press conference that the reason why the CoronaVac’s efficacy was so low was because it was tested on healthcare workers.

He noted that the other vaccines were tested on mostly ordinary citizens with lower risks of infection, even though all vaccine studies include healthcare workers who are most at risk of being infected.

Sinovac Announces Phase 3 Trial Results

On 5 February 2021 – a day before China approved CoronaVac for general use – Sinovac announced the vaccine’s Phase 3 results from Brazil and Turkey.

Brazil Trial : 12,396 healthcare workers

  • 50.65% efficacy against symptomatic disease
  • 83.70% efficacy against symptomatic disease requiring medical treatment
  • 100% efficacy against hospitalisation, severe or fatal cases

Turkey Trial : 1,322 participants

  • 91.25% efficacy against symptomatic disease

The Turkey trial was far too small, and the Brazil trial results were tainted by accusations of data manipulation. The Sinovac furthered that perception by claiming a 83.7% efficacy against medical treatment.

While that may be accurate, it muddies the already murky water and confuses people regarding its true efficacy against symptomatic COVID-19 disease.

CoronaVac Vaccine : Should You Take It?

Yes, if approved by the health authority of your country, you should take it.

The CoronaVac may have lower efficacy than the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine, but it is still an effective vaccine.

The key thing you should note is that it has been proven to prevent severe or fatal COVID-19 disease.

And it offers about 84% protection against moderate to severe COVID-19 disease that requires medical treatment.

Did Spain Halt Pfizer Vaccination After Nursing Home Deaths?

Did Spain halt Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination due to 46 nursing home deaths after receiving the first shot of the vaccine?

Find out what’s going on, and what the FACTS really are!

Claim : Spain Halts Pfizer Vaccination After 46 Nursing Home Deaths!

Websites like The COVID Blog, Humans Are Free and Health Impact News claim that Spain halted their Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination program after 46 nursing home deaths from the first shot!

Here were the key takeaways from their articles :

The Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Our Lady of the Rosary) nursing home is reeling due to mass deaths after mRNA inoculations.

All residents and workers at the facility received the first dose of Pfizer mRNA in early January, according to Spain mainstream media outlet ABC de Sevilla. Most residents became extremely ill shortly after the shots. It is believed many came down with COVID-19, despite being “vaccinated against it.”

The Andalusian Health Service reported that at least 46 residents have died since January. For perspective, Our Lady has a maximum capacity of 145 residents.

The situation remains dire, as at least 28 residents and 12 staff members were COVID-19 positive last week. Health officials halted all further mRNA shots as a result.

Chinese propaganda outlet, GlobalTimes, also chipped in on the controversy earlier this month, naturally attacking the Pfizer vaccine.

Concerns over the mRNA vaccine intensified following a Russia Today report on Monday that all 78 residents at a nursing home in Madrid, Spain had tested positive for COVID-19 after being given their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on January 13, and at least seven people have died.

A Chinese virologist advised elderly people, especially those with underlying conditions, not to take mRNA vaccine such as Pfizer’s, as it could induce their condition and worsen their health.

No, Spain Did NOT Halt Pfizer Vaccination After Nursing Home Deaths

Despite quoting a legitimate news report, both The COVID Blog and Humans Are Free fabricated many parts of their articles.

You can take a look at their source – a 4 February 2021 news report by ABC – a Spanish national daily newspaper.

Now, let’s examine their claims one by one, and show you why they both created a FALSE narrative out of this tragedy to support their anti-vaccination beliefs.

Fact #1 : They Died From COVID-19

All 46 residents of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario nursing home in Los Barrios died from COVID-19, not the vaccine.

The COVID-19 outbreak was first detected on 12 January 2021, and it quickly resulted in multiple deaths :

  • 18 January : 8 deaths in total
  • 28 January : 30 deaths in total
  • 3 February : 46 deaths in total

The Spain Ministry of Health was forced to intervene after an inspection determined that that private nursing home was not capable of disinfecting and isolating the COVID-19 positive cases.

Fact #2 : They Only Recently Received A Single Dose

The residents of this nursing home received their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine early this year. They did not receive their second dose because of the outbreak.

We do not know the exact date, but since the outbreak happened before their second dose, it’s safe to say they were only 1-2 weeks post-vaccination.

As COVID-19 has an incubation period that could be as long as 14 days, it is likely the residents were infected before or just after receiving their vaccination.

That means they remained vulnerable to COVID-19, even though they had already received the first dose of the vaccine.

As these Israeli test results show, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine confers very little immunity in the first two weeks.

That’s because it takes time for the body to react to the antigens created by the vaccine, and build up the necessary antibodies to counter them.

The vaccine therefore only offers partial protection in the third week, and significant protection in the fourth week, and maximum protection after the second dose.

After Vaccination Single Dose Two Doses
Week 1 2.82% infected
Week 2 2.96% infected
Week 3 0.746% infected
Week 4 0.044% infected 0.037% infected
% of total infected 99.44% 0.56%

More importantly, the results show that 99% of post-vaccination infections happen within 3 weeks of a single dose.

Only 1% of those infected with COVID-19 after vaccination were in their fourth week with a single dose, or just had their second dose.

Fact #3 : Vaccination Was Interrupted By Outbreak

Both The COVID Blog and Humans Are Free claimed that “health officials halted all further mRNA shots as a result” of the outbreak.

That is COMPLETELY FALSE. The ABC news report clearly stated that the second dose vaccination was “interrupted” by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Once that happened, the residents had to be isolated and the nursing home disinfected. The Health Ministry only intervened “a few weeks later” after the situation turned serious.

Fact #4 : Spain Has Almost Fully Vaccinated All Nursing Home Residents

As of 19 February 2021, the FED Care Home Association said that almost all nursing home residents in Spain have received both doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Spain’s Health Emergency Chief Fernando Simon also said that, for the first time since the pandemic began, “people over 65 who live in care homes have a lower rate of infection than those who live outside“, signalling that the vaccine was working.

That completely debunks the claim that Spain halted Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination due to nursing home deaths.

In fact, Spain is one of the fastest to vaccinate their people with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine – 2.45% of the population – about 1.15 million people, as of 17 February 2021.

Travel Restriction : Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu District List

MKN finally clarified their definition of districts, so here is the district list for Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu that we compiled!

For Northern states, please see Penang, Perak, Kedah, Perlis District List
For Central states, please see KL, Selangor, Putrajaya District List
For Southern states, please see Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan District List
For East Malaysia states, please see Sabah, Labuan, Sarawak District List

Sinovac Vaccine Arrives In Malaysia, But Not Approved Yet

The first batch of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine – CoronaVac – just arrived in Malaysia.

There was not much fanfare, because the Sinovac vaccine has NOT actually been approved for use in Malaysia.

Sinovac Vaccine Arrives In Malaysia!

The first batch of the Sinovac vaccine – CoronaVac – arrived at the KL International Airport aboard MH319 at 8:47 AM on 27 February 2021.

Unlike the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, the Ministry of Health obtained CoronaVac through Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn Bhd – an intermediary company.

Hence, the Sinovac vaccine arrived in the form of 200 litres of CoronaVac bulk vaccine, which would then have to be bottled by Pharmaniaga.

Once bottled, these 200 litres of bulk vaccine should produce over 300,000 CoronaVac doses – enough to vaccinate approximately 150,000 people.

The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin, said that the government is paying Sinovac less for the vaccine because bottling is done by Pharmaniaga.

However, he declined to disclose more information, so it is unknown how much the government is saving, once the costs of Pharmaniaga’s bottling and distribution are included.

Sinovac Vaccine Not Approved In Malaysia Just Yet

While the CoronaVac vaccine has arrived in Malaysia, we should point out that it has not been approved by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA).

Therefore, the CoronaVac vaccine will not be used just yet in the Malaysia COVID-19 vaccination program.

According to the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, this is because the CoronaVac vaccine has not been bottled.

One of the criteria for approval by the NPRA is the evaluation of the bottling process by Pharmaniaga. Until that happens, the CoronaVac vaccine cannot be approved for use in Malaysia.

It should be pointed out that China only just approved this Sinovac vaccine for general use on 6 February 2021.

Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine : A Quick Primer

Developed by Sinovac, CoronaVac is an inactivated virus vaccine – an older method of creating vaccines.

The SARS-CoV-2 viruses are cultured (grown) in Vero cells, and inactivated (killed) before being administered as a vaccine.

The CoronaVac vaccine only needs to be refrigerated at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F), which makes it easy to distribute.

This is a 2-dose vaccine, which the second dose delivered 14 days after the first.

Its Brazil clinical trial results showed that the CoronaVac vaccine was 50.4% effective in preventing COVID-19, just crossing the 50% mark for regulatory approval.

It was about 78% effective in preventing “mild to severe” COVID-19 disease, which is nevertheless good news.

Dying Light Bad Blood : A Quick Primer!

Enter a zombie-infested area and compete as one of 12 players to become the only survivor – or make a team and fight for survival together.

Scavenge for weapons, destroy zombie hives to level up, and combine your advanced parkour mobility with brutal combat skills to outrun, outsmart, and outplay your opponents.

It’s all in, one out in Dying Light: Bad Blood – a fast-paced and gory online game that creatively blends PvP and PvE combat while retaining the core of Dying Light’s iconic gameplay.

Seamless Mix Of PVP & PVE

Kill the zombies and destroy their hives to collect blood samples and level up your character. Prey on other players, steal their loot, and become the only one to leave the zone alive.

Versatile Parkour Mobility

Whether you run for your life, chase another player or race to the evac chopper, it’s your parkour skills that give you an edge over the enemies

Brutal Melee Combat

Immerse yourself in the blood-soaked FPP combat known from the highly-acclaimed Dying Light, now with greater tactical depth, new moves, and tons of vicious weapons.

Cooperative Duo Mode

Add the element of cooperation to your ruthless fight for survival. Team up with your co-op partner, coordinate your attacks and watch each other’s back to get rid of other teams and evacuate together.
