IOPS Scaling (Sequential)
In these tests, we tested each drive's ability to tackle multiple input/output operations - a very important attribute if you wish to use the new VelociRaptor or SSD in a server, or server-type application. This reflects not only on the drive's raw performance but also that of its controller and firmware.
4 KB Sequential Read

Here, the 1 TB VelociRaptor was really fast, partly due to its use of the Advanced Format Technology, and partly because it has a better controller. It actually mimicked the performance of the Intel X25-M G2, albeit about 18% slower.
4 KB Sequential Write

512 KB Sequential Read

In large sequential reads, the SSDs pulled away, thanks to the ability to use multiple read channels to pull a tremendous amount of data from the flash memory.
512 KB Sequential Write

The VelociRaptors caught up in large, sequential writes, where they both beat the Intel X25-M G2 SSD, and the 1 TB VelociRaptor came rather close to the performance level of the Intel 520 Series SSD.
