IOPS Scaling - 4 KB Random Read

This chart shows the drive's ability to handle multiple 4 KB random read operations simultaneously. The solid state drives in this comparison were arranged according to their average performance. While a high overall score may be desirable, this is not necessary for desktop or laptop users who should concentrate on the scores from the single I/O and 8 outstanding I/Os tests.

The solid state drive that did the best in this test was the 240 GB Intel 520 Series, followed at a distance by the OCZ RevoDrive, and the two Intel X25-M G2 SSDs. The Intel 520 series SSD scaled all the way to over 63K I/Os per second with 32 outstanding I/Os.

In the 4 KB random write test though, the OCZ RevoDrive beat out the 240 GB Intel 520 Series, especially with higher numbers of outstanding I/Os. The Intel 520 series SSD was actually just a tad faster than the OCZ Vertex 2 (E) and Corsair F90 SSDs.
