Specifications

Here are the specifications of the NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 and the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800, compared to their predecessors, the Quadro FX 5600 and the Quadro FX 4600.

Like all current graphics cards, the two new Quadro FX cards support PCI Express 2.0. They also support 10-bit and 12-bit colour outputs, allowing for 1.07 billion colours. The NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800, on the other hand, is priced at "just" US$ 1999. NVIDIA, of course, believes this is a pittance for well-endowed members of the engineering and scientific community.

This brings down the prices of the older NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards, so if you are looking for bargains, that's good news! Otherwise, you will have to try modding your GeForce into a Quadro...
