ATI Tech Day

On August 23rd, ATI held a small press briefing at the Grand Hyatt, Singapore. Team ARP was there to cover the event, dubbed ATI Tech Day.

David Wang, the Senior Director of Discrete Graphics Engineering at ATI, came all the way from Santa Clara to brief up on their newly launched Radeon cards.

As you know by now, ATI officially launched three new Radeon graphics cards - the Radeon X1950 XTX, the Radeon X1650 Pro and the Radeon X1300 XT. Let's take a look at the test bed that ATI set up at the event!

The X1950 XTX CrossFire In Action

As you can see, the X1950 XTX cards are not small in any sense of the word. They occupy two slots each. Even in this large case, there's no much space left. You could slot in another card but that's about it.

They are still using the standard CrossFire cable but ATI is apparently working on a software solution that will transfer the data via the PCI Express bus instead.

Now, let us take you through the same press briefing we went through!
