Belkin Universal AC Travel Adaptor

Introduction

I am crazy about backpacking and I carry a lot of gadgets with me while traveling abroad. I often worry about the type of sockets used in the countries I intend to visit and that is not the kind of thing that should be bothering me everytime before I fly. Therefore, I need a long term solution to this problem.

I have been searching for solutions and there are quite a number of them out there. But the most common one was always multiple adaptors. I didn't quite like any of those solutions until I stumbled upon the Belkin Universal AC Travel Adaptor. Someone was actually selling one at lelong.com.my, the local version of eBay.

I bought it for RM 95 (USD 25) but I'm sure you may be able to source it for a much lower price elsewhere, since it's really nothing more than an adaptor. It doesn't even convert voltage!

But to a frequent traveller, this is a tool you might not leave home without. Let's take a look at why it can be a very useful tool for the digitally-addicted traveller.

Packaging

This is what you get when you purchase the Belkin Universal Travel Adaptor.

It comes in a sealed packaging that requires you to tear open the sides to access the contents.

Inside, you'll find a white plastic adaptor. It feels light and extremely compact, considering the number of socket types it supports.

There's a whole description of the product on the back of the packaging and a caution statement indicating that this device does not convert voltage.

Now, let's take a close look at the Travel Adaptor!
