Kuala Lumpur, 06 July 2016 – Calpis, Japan’s first cultured milk drink, has launched the first-ever Malaysian singing voice prompt on Waze featuring Malaysian / international artiste Yuna – just in time for the Hari Raya festivities. Now you have no need to fear the heavy traffic as you get serenaded while on-the-go with Yuna’s smooth grooves.

Waze, the free traffic and navigation app powered by the world’s largest community of drivers, has become a part of Malaysians’ lifestyles as the growing economy and rapid developments have made road navigation even more challenging. This is why Calpis chose to provide Malaysians a happier experience with Waze, where Yuna will sing you through traffic melodiously.

Calpis Launches Singing Voice Prompt On Waze

Calpis wants drivers to drive safe during this festive season and hopes that Yuna’s exquisite voice will keep drivers alert. “There’s a lot of commuting taking place during this time as all Malaysians visit one another during the various open houses and more. Waze will help Malaysians arrive at their various destinations safely as some places can be hard to find. Additionally, a singing voice navigator can help break the monotony adding to the happy, fun, Raya celebration – a positive experience that is synonymous with the Calpis brand philosophy,” stated Etika Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Permanis Sandilands Sdn Bhd), Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Hemalatha Ragavan.

Calpis will be giving Malaysians more to celebrate by launching the new Grape flavour, which will come in satisfying 350ml and 1L sizes. As Malaysians will be back at work while Raya celebrations are ongoing, Calpis wants to help drivers stay fresh during this period and the new sensation in addition to the Original and Mango flavours will do just that.

Stay Safe With Yuna And Calpis Grape

Yuna combined with Calpis Grape will keep Malaysians in Raya mood despite navigating through heavy peak-hour traffic. “I’m excited and I hope to bring a little goodness to my fans who are stuck in traffic,” says Yuna when asked about the campaign. “I also hope that Malaysians stay safe on the roads. Keep calm in traffic, take breaks on long journeys and have some Calpis in between to refresh yourselves,” she adds. Aside from being able to enjoy the smooth sensations and creamy goodness that Calpis brings, the Yuna-Waze voice navigation campaign makes for a great addition as it adds to the festivities and happy celebrations that Malaysians will enjoy.

“We’re thrilled Calpis is bringing the first Malaysian singing voice, Yuna, to Waze, guiding Wazers along the most optimal route home from Hari Raya or to any destination of their choosing,” said Edward Ling, Sales Manager of Waze Malaysia. “Celebrity voice prompts are one of our more unique features and a great way to add some fun to a drive. Yuna’s beautiful singing voice is sure to do just that, surprising and delighting drivers at every turn. We also believe this will be the perfect accompaniment to the newly launched Calpis Grape, which promises to add more zing to the already popular cultured milk drink.”

To enable your Waze and enjoy Yuna’s vocals, simply download Waze from your respective iOS or Android app stores. Once installed, select the “menu” option, then click on “settings”. Under “setting”, select the “sound” option and select “English (UK) – Yuna | Calpis”.

So stay tuned for more goodness from Calpis as we bring even more joy through our future campaigns. At this juncture, Calpis also hopes all Malaysians will stay safe and wishes fellow Muslims Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
