SATA RAID seems to be the rage these days. Practically all motherboard manufacturers have at least a few motherboards with SATA RAID features built-in. With RAID support built into most motherboards and hard disk drive prices continuously dropping, more and more people are opting for RAID solutions as a cheap way to improve performance and/or reliability.
Today, we are going to take a look at how you can optimize your SATA RAID solution. Let’s see what’s the best RAID solution for your needs!

The new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 comes with 216 stream processors, 24 more than the original GeForce GTX 260. This gave it a small 12.5% boost in texture fillrate while everything else remained the same. This small improvement, however, gave the GeForce GTX 260 new life and allowed it to better compete with the Radeon HD 4850.
Of course, there were many who felt that the increase in stream processors wasn’t good enough. Not only overclockers but even graphics card manufacturers saw the potential in overclocking the improved GeForce GTX 260. The larger number of stream processors would only mean much greater improvements in performance with every hike in core speed.
Galaxy is one of those manufacturers who saw the potential in offering factory-overclocked versions of the GeForce GTX 260. Their Galaxy GeForce GTX 260+ OverClocked graphics card offers factory-certified clock speeds of 625 MHz core, 1350 MHz shader and 1050 MHz memory. Let’s take a look at the card and see how it fares!

Since 1999, we have been developing the BIOS Optimization Guide, affectionately known as the BOG. From a meager beginning of a single page, it now covers over 400 BIOS options. As old BOG readers will know, we started offering two editions of the BOG since Revision 8.0 - a simplified edition and the complete edition.
Normally, the complete edition is only available to subscribers who help sponsor the development of the guide through a small fee. However, that changes today! From now on, we will post a BIOS option from the complete edition of the BIOS Optimization Guide every weekend.
This week, we will be taking a look at the PCI 2.1 Compliance BIOS setting.

Thanks to EU laws, Microsoft has to come up with new E and N variants of Windows 7. With that, Microsoft will have finalized their SKU (stock keeping units) for the Windows 7 operating system, barring any last minute demands by other countries (special firewalls for China?).
Let’s take a look at the choices Microsoft will be offering us, the consumers, when Windows 7 is launched. Let’s start with some highlights of the finalized Windows 7 SKU strategy and finish it off with a summary of the Windows 7 SKUs.

How ironic. Microsoft’s new Internet Explorer 8 browser is reportedly not compatible with their own OEM extranet portal!
Our sources recently complained that they have not been able to access the Microsoft OEM Communications Extranet after installing Internet Explorer 8. All IE8 does is "wait" for the portal to load, but the portal never actually loads, leaving these IE8 users frustrated and absolutely pissed.
